Better Plumbing Inc

Extremely overpriced. $90 service fee and it doesn't apply to the cost of the repair. All plumbers know you're calling them because you're in a bind so you expect to pay a premium, but these guys are beyond that. The work was completed on time and correctly, but you'll have to be willing to spend SIGNIFICANTLY more than you would for other plumbers. The service I had done was basic and shouldn't have cost what it did. A couple additional small things I wanted done we're also ridiculously overpriced - beyond the normal cost you pay for the convenience and not doing it yourself. I went off a friend's recommendation, but wish I hadn't. Take time to shop around - I should have.

This company was our plumber for 15+ years.. little did we know how overpriced and gouged we were until recently when we asked for an itemized bill for a new bathroom remodel after we received a quote.
He never produced the itemized quote and would not return our numerous phone calls or messages.  How unprofessional!  He obviously knew he was overpriced and we caught on. We found a new family owned plumbing company, the job was done expertly, timely and exceeded our expections, not to mention the cost significantly lower than Better Plumbing, Inc.  Would not and do not recommend this company.

This review is sooo late coming, and for that I apologize.  I'm not an internet type.  I first called Better Plumbing (July 2011) because I got up one morning to shower and shave to go to work and discovered I only had a few minutes of hot water available.  I came home after work thinking I only needed to re-light the gas pilot. However, try as I might, it would not light. So next morning I called Better Plumbing from work, explained my situation to David.  He said he could stop by at my convenience, so we agreed to meet at my house at 4pm.  He arrived as stated and examined my water heater.  Turned out my water heater gas with pilot light) was about 10 years beyond its expected life and not repairable. Well, the good news was he could replace the heater the next day. Bad news, because the heater is outside the DIY aluminum enclosure (came with house) needed to be replaced, but due to changes in specs a proper enclosure (which I had been looking for anyway) is very hard to find in this area but he had a guy he knew he could contact. The next day David called and said his friend had one and he would ship it right down (don't remember from where). So, next afternoon David called to say he had received the enclosure and would commence installation the next morning.  David said I didn't need to be there unless I wanted to, and he would call be when complete.  He called me just after lunch to say job done, but he had another job to go to and would meet me at my house when I get home from work (4-5pm).  David arrived at about the same time I did.  He walked me through the new water heater function (gas with electric start).  I acknowledge this was not cheap, I didn't expect it to be or I could do it myself, but at the same time I do not feel it extremely overpriced. In the end David spent a lot of time, effort, and consideration (I live alone and work fulltime) for me and given all the details I think he did it as expeditiously as possible. For all that I say thank you with respect and appreciation. I will call Better Plumbing again.
