All the reviews are correct - Star Plumbing is a GREAT plumbing company. Professional, competent, responsive and reasonably priced. I believe John (Jon) was the Plumber that came to my home and he was great.  He arrived to my house right on time, was very professional, quickly assessed the issue and got right to work. I am now going to use Star Plumbing for my own home and rentals.  

Everything below is written for the person that feels like they have been taken advantage of in the past.  There is never a time when I need svc more urgently than when I call a plumber - burst pipes, leaks, clogged drains, etc. - I always feel at a disadvantage as once the company is out there, in this kind of situation, I am going to say yes no matter how expensive and how would I really know if they are being honest - I'm not the expert. I don't mind reasonable charges - plumbers work hard, they need a lot of equipment and the work can be messy- but you know when something does not seem reasonable or you wonder if you're being hoodwinked.

Scheduling:  Someone answered right away, took my info and within a few hours, a person named Mark called to gather more info and scheduled right away. I gave him a window of a week and he said, let's just get this fixed ASAP.

Estimate/Cost:  He provided a quote right on the phone. No we'll come out and give you an estimate, etc. I was charged exactly what he quoted

Integrity/Honestly:  I'm going w/my gut here but I think this is the kind of company that they are here to do the job, do it well and not make it more onerous than it has to be

Clean: I had a clogged drain, the work was likely harder than originally envisioned, definitely messier and John mustered through with complete professionalism and kept the area scrupulously clean (which was hard because he had to remove waste from the trap underneath the sink)

I love doing my Google and Yelp reviews as well to find the BEST company, offering the BEST value (notice not cheap, just a company that will offer you fair prices and are honest) and would highly recommend you stop your research and just call this company if you need a Plumber.

p.s. If you use this company, you'll notice they have a really large truck. Not a van but a UHAUL kind of truck. I asked why and he said, we stock a lot of supplies in our truck so we minimize having to go out to buy parts (which has happened with so many plumbers in the past with me where my cost more than doubles because they have to go buy the part ASAP).

Very efficient and reasonably priced.   I appreciated that when I called, I was able to talk to a real person right away!

I hate to say it because I don't want to have to compete for their services when I need them, but these guys are the best, hands down.  They are quick to respond, work quickly, have reasonable prices and REALLY know what they are doing.  We have never had a bad experience with them.  And unlike others (who shall go unnamed) who will charge you just to give you an estimate, these guys come out and FIX what needs fixing for not much more than others would charge for the estimate alone.  I really can't say enough good things about them.  Thanks, Mark.  You've got a great crew!

He was able to solve problem but was extremely rude to my wife throughout the entire appointment. There was no formal greeting before barging in the door and was rude when she asked him very simple questions. He even slammed the credit card down on the counter after she provided him with payment for his services. We all have bad days but that is unacceptable.

I called when my water heater stopped working and the owner called me back.  After a few picture texts, I had a quote and he was able to come the next morning (due to a cancellation on their end) and were neat, efficient and priced fairly.  I did not realize how deteriorated the performance of my old water heater was until the new one was installed.  I would happily use them again.

Came on time, was installed correctly and the bill was very reasonable. That is why we hire these companies.

Best price to replace a water heater and finished the job in under two hours. Star Plumbing was recommended by a lot of people in the Springfield area and I will add my voice to the chorus. Our situation was not an emergency but they still came out first thing the next morning.

Arrived at appointed time, went to work after assessing problems and was finished in no time. Amazing!

Based on multiple positive recommendations on another Web site, I decided to give Star Plumbing a call. The owner, Mark, called me back promptly.  My problem wasn't urgent or critical so we scheduled a repair date.  He showed up promptly and quickly figured out where the leak and problem were.  He was probably done in less than 30 minutes.  And the price was 1/3 or 1/2 of what I've been paying.  So I am happy to announce that I have a new plumber.

The 'joys' of owning a home include taking care of your own plumbing problems!    We found a small leak in our basement and immediately knew we couldn't handle it ourselves since the leak was coming out of the wall.    

Thanks to a friend and a fellow yelpers, I found the plumber she recently used.    Based on her review and experience, I immediately called Star Plumbing.    They responded to me immediately and scheduled an appt the very next morning.  Our plumber arrives exactly as promised.  He was very diligent in determining the source of the leak without tearing up too much of our wall!   After a few precise cuts, he found the source, performed his miracles repairs and gave us advice on some other issues!

This company is definitely on my emergency phone number list!  I highly recommend them!

I read all the great reviews for this company so I had high hopes of good service.  I asked them to diagnose and find the source of a minor leak.  While on the service call I pointed out three jobs I needed done (replacing a shower/tub faucet, and replacing a water supply valve and an outside spigot).  The plumber discussed with me, took photos and promised to provide an estimate.  I did not receive an estimate for a week so I called for status and left a message with the person who answered.  Still nothing.  Several more weeks went by.  I called for status again and left a message with a company rep again inquiring about when I might receive the estimate.  Another week has gone by with no response from Star Plumbing.  So I am giving up.

Very disappointed in this company -- I don't know what's going on with them but my advice is -- don't waste your time with them.  If my three jobs were too small to warrant their time fine -- at least have the decency to tell me so instead of wasting my time.  How dishonest and unprofessional!

I called about a kitchen faucet leak on Monday, and John was able to come out the following morning. Mark was very down to earth about saving the customer money i.e. drying to diagnose and fix the leak versus just replacing the faucet altogether. John came out and performed excellent and efficient work.

I'm extremely happy with Star Plumbing, and I'll use them again for any future plumbing needs.

I am sure I have written a review on Star Plumbing before but it may have been on a Vienna closed Facebook group.

I wonder if other plumbers get five stars but I would give them six if I could. I first used them when I moved to Falls Church in 2002 when I needed a new A.G. Smith water heater. I didn't pay much attention to price because I had so many other things to take care of.

I moved to Vienna in 2012 and somehow found that very old Star invoice AFTER I had already had Booze install an A.G. Smith water heater (same specs) for about $900. (In the intervening years I had used Booze exclusively. Having lived previously in Vienna from 1977 to 1998, they were the only show in town since there was no Internet to compare prices and I continued to use them in Falls Church for ten years--and always groused about their prices.)

Just out of curiosity, I anonymously called Star Plumbing and asked what the same water heater would have cost. SLIGHTLY OVER HALF!

Mark, a 30-year plumber, is always here quickly. Very professional, he gets right to work and doesn't spend any time with chit chat. PLEASE CALL THEM--save yourself money and get competent and fast service.

Great job Star Plumbing! I needed a water heater replaced and called Star Plumbing, along with several other companies.  After talking with Mark, I decided to have Star Plumbing do the replacement.  Mark answered all of my questions and did not try to up-sell anything.  Also, his price was one of the lowest quoted.  The company arrived on time and went right to work.   At my request, they were also able to install a new pressure relief valve at the same time.  Mark and John were very professional and completed the jobs in about two hours.  I would definitely use Star Plumbing again.

I have used Star Plumbing twice already. They came recommended by my realtor. Mark who is the owner scheduled the repairs for me both times. Bruce and John came out to do the repairs both times (repair insinkerator, leaking kitchen faucet, replaced kitchen faucet, repair toilet flushing valve, and supply hose) and both times they were professional, courteous, and expedient. I have found my go to plumbing company and plan to call them for all future plumbing repairs. Pricing is also very honest and reasonable.

Jason at star plumbing just installed a new gas water heater. Price was good. No hidden charges. Truck showed up right on schedule and work was done quickly and confidently.
My only knock would be there was only 1 model of water heater available and it has a low efficiency rating.

Mark is our go-to plumber.  He came to do some work in our townhouse years ago, and per his recommendation, we hired him back to install a pressure-regulating valve, which he did professionally and for an excellent price.  When our water heater started leaking into our family room on a Saturday afternoon, the big-box hardware store told us they could get someone out there on Monday; Mark showed up first thing Sunday morning, installed a better product for less money, didn't upcharge us for coming on a weekend, and was done so quickly we even made it to church on time.  He is an excellent plumber who will only do the work you actually need, and do it for a fair price.

We had two plumbing issues (tub and toilet).  Jason arrived, assessed the situation, and went straight to work.  He explained what he needed to do (which involved some welding) and then, after repairing the bathtub did the work on the toilet.  Turns out that the work I had done was 99% complete, just needed to go a bit tighter and the flapper was now properly sealed.  Did not charge for the toilet and the price for the tub was hundreds of dollars less than elsewhere.  I highly recommend Star Plumbing!

I was referred to Star Plumbing by a realtor friend of mind Joan Lovett about 4 years ago. Mark and his crew are the most honest plumbers I have ever dealt with. They do excellent work at decent prices and do not try to rip you off. In fact, one time I bought a whole new shower faucet and handle set and Mark fixed the broken handle and had me take the set back to Home Depot. Best plumbers ever! Six stars.

Best price by for a water heater by hundreds of dollars! Same brand water heater as others quoting me 400-600 more. Efficient, quick and we're able to install quickly given our old one leaked and went kaput. Highly recommend, no hidden charges, etc.

Three weeks ago discovered our water heater leaking. It was 29 years old - yes we got our money's worth! I checked Nextdoor and several neighbors recommended Star Plumbing. I gave them a call and spoke to Mark. I gave him the size of my current water heater (65 Gal) which is no longer made and he asked some questions to assess water usage in the home. He quoted the price to replace with a 50 or 75 Gal tank and it was the brand that we wanted. Most other company's wanted to come to the home to give estimates. One company referred by Home Advisor, quoted more than double Stars price (maybe they thought I was stupid). When all was said and done Star was the most competitive and their reviews clearly indicated they are water heater specialist. We scheduled the job and Jason arrived on time to complete the install. Before leaving he explained everything that was done to include adjusting the water pressure and replacing the water valve for my refrigerator. Why is this important? For the first time since remodeling my kitchen, several years ago, my refrigerator is dispensing water properly and making full sized ice cubes!!! I previously thought the anemic water stream was a design flaw with the appliance. I am so happy with the total outcome of this service from Star Plumbing!!! I highly recommend them for their punctuality, pricing which was not a penny more than quoted, and for improving the water pressure throughout our home. I couldn't be happier!! Star Plumbing came to our rescue and saved us thousands. We got a crack in our main stack that caused water damage in the basement. A large, national plumber told us that it would cost thousands to repair and involve tearing up concrete in the basement. Mark gave us a second opinion and showed us the small section that needed to be repaired. He took care of it quickly and far less expensively. Mark also helped by talking through a more recent plumbing issue, letting us know what was going on and getting us in touch with a drain specialist.

I have limited experiences with plumbing but called Star Plumbing to get an estimate for some work in the kitchen and ended up using them for the work and was happy with the results.  

I ended up needing new shut-off valves for the dishwasher and ice maker lines since the previous work was not reusable for the new appliances.

I spoke with Mark on the phone and explained my issues and he asked me to text him pictures of the current set up.  I was able to do that quickly and he gave me an estimate for the work which seemed reasonable.  It required the replacement of a couple valves for 4 lines.  By comparison, my first estimate by our trusted HVAC/Plumbing company was twice as much for half the work.

I scheduled the service and Mark showed up right on time and completed the work very quickly, showing me the changes when finished and making sure I understood how the new valves worked.  

I don't have any reason to believe the work is less than acceptable.  If I have any issues I'll update my review, but I highly recommend Star Plumbing from today's experience.

Arrived on time, very honest, professional and clean work. Very upfront about what could and could not be done in an old house, seemed to really know his stuff. Replaced two sinks, and guts of three toilets.

Really impressed with this company. They said they would be here at a certain time and they were on time, and did the job in a professional manner.  I didn't feel like they gouged me as so many service companies seem to do when doing work for women.  I will definitely use them again.

Our pipes were banging when some faucets were used and our research suggested water hammer.  Got a list of plumbers from Wash Checkbook and checked their reviews on Yelp.  Then called around.  Prices were wildly different and some didn't service our area.  Selected Star Plumbing based on reviews, price and ability to make an appt.  Plumber came at the appointed time and confirmed our problem.  Fixed in under an hour even with my husband hanging over his shoulder.  Great job, will certainly be using again.

Agree with Dat's review, Jason at Star Plumbing is the best!  He saved what could have been a catastropic situation because another contractor was waiting to complete a dry wall job.  Called Star and they immediately sent Jason after I explained the situation.

He replaced the water valve shutoff for both the internal water and external water above our secruity system box.   Also replaced the external water spigot to the outside.  He had to cut the drywall, did a clean job and completed the job quickly so the other contractor could complete their work.  

Since we have found Jason he has done all the plumbing in the house such as replacing the ice maker pipe, shut off valves to the kitchen sink and washing machine and the hot water heater.

Quote for service call was given in advance and appointment window of 9-11 was booked.  No show after 11, so I called company.  Mark showed up after 1.  There is no customer service without even so much as a courtesy call regarding delay.  I will not use them again.

I've used star plumbing now for 3 different plumbing issues in our house. They have done a fantastic job every single time. They are honest and upfront and I will gladly call them again the next time I need plumbing services.

OUTSTANDING service!!!  So much to say. Water heater broke and we felt it was an emergency. We called Star Plumbing on a Friday night and they responded right away, took our information down, apologized that we were having to go thru such an event late in the day and promised to have a tech call us soon, same day. John called back no more than 10min later. Asked my husband questions about our water heater and asked my husband some questions about the size of the heater, etc. He scheduled the repair/replacement for the next day. He arrived on time and greeted both of us with a handshake. He was so very pleasant. He laid down cloths to prevent water or dirts from damaging the carpet. He was knowledgeable, polite, and was able to answer all our questions. It was such a wonderful experience. I highly recommend although I've just used them once. What others say is true - they are polite, responsive and helpful.  It's nice to work with a company like this who isn't gruff or grouchy like some plumbing cos.

We had our old water heater replaced by Star Plumbing.  The provided the best price compared with two other quotes we received and performed the installation on-time and without issues. Their team did a great job with the installation and even took the time to clean up some of the existing plumbing (replacing the saddle valve for the humidifier with a real valve and optimized some of the pvc drain lines from other HVAC components) all without any additional charge. I highly recommend the Star Plumbing team

Had a leaking washing machine valve which was an extra problem since my washer is on the 2nd floor of the house.  Came very quickly to repair the valve and then also installed one stainless steel hose which my new washing machine was SUPPOSED to come with, but when washer arrived it had the rubber hoses.  They did not have 2 stainless hoses on the truck as I had not mentioned this issue when I called.  Came back another day with the other stainless hose and did not charge anything for the hoses or 2nd trip. Seriously?  Do you know anyone in this day and age who gives you something for free and even makes a free 2nd trip? Excellent!!  Price was very very fair.

I have since used Star Plumbing two more times and am happy with the work. The next time was to replace a water heater and run a water line to our fridge at our rental property. The price was exactly what they told me over the phone and my tenants were pleased with their professionalism.

The last time was to look at a leaking disposal at our rental. They replaced it quickly and again the price was right. They are my go to plumbers.

A leak from the hot water heater in the furnance room caused a bit of a flood in our basement.  I called Star Plumbing and explained my situation.  The person who answer the phone said that someone would contact me shortly and should be able to come pretty soon that day.

Someone called about 10 minutes later.  He explanied to me clearly how they charge and what I can expect.  He showed up, fixed the problem, charged us their VERY reasonable minmum fee within 90 minutes after I discovered the problem!  

Our last plumber tried to fix a similar leak problem.  He charged us $350 the first time. It leaked again the 2nd day.  He charged us another $250 again to fix what he DIDN'T fix.  

Star Plumbing is outstanding.  Transparent about their fees, no nonsense, reliable and very prompt.   I heard a lot of good things from a friend about them and this is the first time that we use them.  I don't think that I need to look for another plumbing service again!

We have used star plumbing for many years. They have fixed our main water shut off,put shut off valves on our outside faucets,put in new faucets in our bathrooms and showers. They are always prompt, courteous and very efficient. They clean up after each job. I highly recommend them to anyone with plumbing needs.

Only used once, but would call again. They were recommended by another plumber also rated highly on Checkbook.org that was booked through the next couple weeks. Called for a slow leak and they were out the next day. Probably would have come same day if I had pressed. Work was done well and quickly by Jason with no surprise on pricing. Thanks!

Our water heater was 17 years old, so I decided to be proactive and replace it before it failed. Since it wasn't an emergency, I called around to find the best price. Star was hundreds of dollars less than others I spoke with for a comparable (or same) brand and warranty period. Mark gave me his cell phone number to call when I made my decision. He scheduled the appointment within a few days, had his crew arrive when promised, and we didn't even discuss the bill; the price was exactly as promised. I would definitely recommend them.

Star Plumbing is the ONLY plumber we will ever use.   Mark has over the years helped us with the most difficult plumbing issues. He as saved us hundreds of dollars many times.   He is very smart, knows his trade, very honest, professional, prompt, reliable, and reasonable!  I couldn't recommend anyone more highly.
