My kitchen sink was leaking and Elliot from DMV Plumbing answered my call at 9 in the evening. Not many places were open or available, but Elliot was and he responded to my need.

After a brief call, I took a short video to show him what was going on. He immediately noted the problem, and addressed the issue for me the next afternoon. His communication was superb and he solved the problem for me.

Any plumbing issues, this is the company I'll be calling.

Horrifically bad follow-though. Set appointments, he never showed - TWICE! - and ignored my attempts to reschedule. Also ignored my concerns that the waterproofing system does not seem to be working as promised.

I hired him to do an exterior waterproofing system for me. Initially I was impressed and tried to give him more business, but now I believe it is not working. He has ignored my attempts to reach him to discuss the matter despite a 15-year warranty. So much for a warranty!

My mistake was trying to give him more of my business. Twice now I scheduled an appointment with him to come back and do some plumbing work. Both times he failed to show up - without giving me any notice - and ignored multiple texts from me asking to reschedule.

PLEASE READ OTHER REVIEWS OF THIS BUSINESS AND THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU LINK ABOVE. Blowing off appointments seems to not be unusual for him.

You can see from the owner's message below just how terribly disorganized he is. He claims we didn't have an appointment. My text messages show we had an appointment for Monday, June 13. He never showed up. We then scheduled a 2nd appointment for Friday, June 17th and he AGAIN didn't show.

I followed up with texts to him on July 31, and again last week. Again, no response.

What this tells me is that he thinks his time is more valuable than my time. I disagree.

Easy communication and solved my problem fast! Called Elliot late Wednesday night when our kitchen sink was leaking into our basement. He asked questions - had me send a photo/video of the issue and then he texted me to arrange a time to come in the am.
He fixed the leak and took a look at the damage outside. Provided an estimate and was done in 30 min. Great experience overall!

Elliott said he would swap out a toilet for us.  Seemed really responsive on Yelp chat.  We scheduled a time but he was a no-show.  No call or text -- nothing.  When I reached him, he said his current job was really difficult -- and that's it.  Two days later: still no contact or attempt to reschedule.

We requested the plumbing service from Elliott of DMV Plumbing & Waterproofing LLC based on his excellent Yelp rating. As elaborated by other reviewers, we are also impressed. Elliott arrived at our property within a very short notice for our urgent water leak issue. He is very efficient and quickly identified the leaking issue and proposed the waterproofing solution to remediate. He took time to explain to me on the issue and how it caused the water damage with much patience. His charge is very reasonable to our surprise. In my opinion, he is one of the top plumbers we have
been working with in DMV area. We would like to give him a big thank-u with  the 5 star rating without reservation. We will definitely call him again next time we have plumbing and waterproofing issues, probably very soon. Thanks.

Dave saved the day!  I got stuck in the middle of a DIY bathroom sink faucet replacement.  I called this morning and received a quick response from Elliott via text.  I was able to send pictures of the project and was referred to Dave, who was able to come out the same afternoon and finished the faucet replacement in under 30 minutes!  Price was fair and reasonable.  Dave was extremely knowledgeable and kind.  I would recommend DMV Plumbing & Waterproofing without hesitation!  I'll definitely be calling for future home improvement projects.

Confusing and frustrating experience. Started great, with Elliott responding  and coming out very quickly to check out the situation, which was an erroneous high-usage meter read from DC Water. All I needed as follow up was a report of the water meter check that he performed, to submit to DC Water. What followed was weeks of multiple exchanges with Elliott in which he assured me Dave would do the report for me, and Dave ignoring my voicemails and texts.

To be clear, I had been aware that maybe this report I needed, however straightforward it seemed, might have been an annoyance for them. So I had repeatedly offered to both Elliott and Dave to pay them for the report -- even though at the initial visit / meter read Elliott had indicated this would not be necessary.

In retrospect it seems they never wanted to do anything for me once it was clear there was no plumbing repair work to do -- even if I had offered to pay them to send a one-paragraph report. Fair enough, that's their prerogative as business owners. But don't lie to me, lead me on, ghost me, waste my time.

Very responsive and helpful! I had a problem that Elliot helped me diagnose over our messages, so when he came, I was able to have the right parts ready for a quick fix.

We hired DMV to waterproof the exterior front wall of our home, which involves trenching down to the foundation.  While the work was being performed, we requested they backfill with gravel instead of the clay soil that was removed from the trench.  They agreed and we accepted a change to the invoice of $1,000.  We understood that this would cost more, both to purchase the gravel and remove the dirt.

The old dirt was never removed from our property.  We contacted Elliot at least three times requesting that he remove the dirt and it was never removed.  Unfortunately, I paid prior to removal.  He gave us every excuse you can imagine for why the dirt was still in our driveway - someone else was supposed to pick it up, his truck was vandalized, he had another job, he was out of town, etc.  In retrospect, we believe that DMV never intended to remove the dirt, which sat in our driveway for over a month. We ended up paying $350 for another company to bring a dumpster to our home and spent an entire morning dumping bags of dirt into the dumpster ourselves.  

In addition to the dirt debacle, after the waterproofing was completed, water came into our basement.  To be honest, the water may have come in from the side, where they did not waterproof.  However, we are now working with another company on that for obvious reasons.  We have been told by other companies that the work DMV did was sloppy, and we are paying to have it redone.  

Additionally, DMV smeared some of the tar that is supposed to be applied below grade on the front of our house, above grade, and it's very visible.  Elliot told us it would wash right off.  It doesn't.  We've purchased multiple cleaning products made to remove tar, and none of them work.  Photo of this mess is also attached to this review.

Finally, the real dagger was coming to Yelp to leave this review and finding that Elliot put pictures of the work they did on our home as example of their good work! Funny, he cropped out the trash bags of dirt he left in the driveway, pictured below.

Super capable and responsive -- even guided me by video call when they couldn't get to me immediately and I had to find the water main in the old house we just moved into!

Fast response, good service, knowledgeable, accurate estimate and quite reasonable cost.  Elliott is the boss at DMV Plumbing and Waterproofing.  He showed up on time and finished the job ahead of schedule.  The job consisted of installing an outdoor drain in a patio area while maintaining brick layout.  The new drain fixes a stagnant water problem that was a breeding area for mosquitos...now the area is free of puddles...Kudos to DMV!

Called this morning for a garbage disposal replacement.
Was hoping to have it done as soon as possible. Elliot did not disappoint. He showed up an hour later, changed the garbage disposal with high efficiency and no mess. He even sent me a picture of the finished product as proof!! (I was at work)
The price is very reasonable too! And with many payment options. I couldn't believe they also accept zelle and PayPal. I'm keeping him as my to-go plumber from now on. Great job!!

I've contacted DMV plumbing and waterproofing twice and each time they've been responsive and done a great job fixing our problems. Their prices are fair and the technicians have given good advice.

Bottom line: Elliot is a knowledgeable and friendly waterproofing specialist who understands his craft well. He's been doing this for over 20 years if I remember correctly. BUT he does not take care of his clients when they have problems. If you hire Elliot, I hope he takes care of your problem the first time around because if not, he'll come out on his convenience if he wants to and he won't go out of his way to contact you. Good luck talking to him on the phone if there's a problem. He will only communicate through text once the job has been completed. He won't always show up to fix things when he says he's going to and will probably not contact you to let you know. I would never recommend him to anyone because his customer service is awful. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this is the worst experience I've ever had with any company providing a service.

This is my honest and thorough review of my experience with the owner Elliot from DMV Plumbing and Waterproofing.

A few years ago, I had a number of waterproofing companies come out and take a look at my basement to hear recommendations about how to fix my basement leak. Elliot stood out among all of them as someone who was competent and could fix the problem. Toward the end of last year, I decided that I needed to do something about it and contacted Elliot to come out and do the job. His recommendation was to dig to the foundation of our townhome, seal the front of it with some sort of tar, and cover that with a very thick sheet of plastic. He also recommended installing a French drain. I agreed to those terms.

The first sign that I should have noticed that something was wrong was that I had to contact him over the course of 2 weeks to see when he was going to come to my house. He was never proactive about getting back to me. It felt like I was constantly pestering him. The weather cleared up and he had some free time so he contacted me on short notice to come out and take care of the work. His team members did a good job to complete the work. I thanked them for their hard work and thought the basement was sealed. Well, I was wrong.

The first problem that I noticed is that the plastic pipe that they installed to the downspout had disconnected when the dirt settled into the ground. I didn't make a big deal out of it and contacted Elliot to come out and fix it. Like before, it seemed like I was pestering him to come out and fix the pipe. He told me a couple times that he would come out and he didn't. He didn't even let me know that he wasn't coming. He finally came out about 3 weeks later and fixed the pipe.

I didn't notice that there was a basement leak until about a month later. I assumed that the basement was taken care of and I never thought to check to make sure that the basement leak was gone. The leak was better but there was still a problem. After contacting him again through text because he wouldn't answer my call, he was surprisingly responsive. He told me that he believed the problem with the leak was coming from underneath my neighbors stoop (I live in a townhome). He told me that he could either dig down to the foundation again underneath my neighbors stoop or do a crack injection. I figured that a crack injection would be easier to take care of for him so I thought that it would be sufficient. He told me that he would take care of it and not to worry.

After 3-4 months of occasional contact through text (because he would never answer his phone when I called), he never came. Supposedly his family had some medical problems so I was lenient during that time. I didn't want to make things harder for him so I touched base every 1 to 2 weeks. I finally came to the conclusion that he just was not going to come out to finish the job.

I had my lawyer write him a letter to try to get him to come out but that didn't do anything. He apologized and said he would make things right. Nothing happened. Frustrated that this was still going nowhere, I decided to take him to court and have the sheriff serve the papers for him to come. I gave extra time between the court date and serving the papers with the hope that he would just come over and finish. That didn't happen. When he received the papers from the sheriff, he texted me and it was obvious that he was really upset. I told him that I wanted to resolve this so please just give me a call. He said he would. As usual, nothing happened.

Once I learned how difficult it is to get your money even when you have a favorable judgment, I decided to drop the case. All I was suing him for was the amount to get a crack injection done. It wasn't worth my time.

I normally write reviews for people who do a great job but the customer service from Elliot was SO BAD that I thought it was in the best interest of others to write this. Elliot is a nice guy who is friendly with people he works with but will avoid you like the plague if there's a problem.

Connected on Yelp and arranged for a plumber the next day for an emergency situation. They did not show up and stopped responding in our Yelp messages.

Elliott did waterproofing outside our home and replaced our water heater for a very fair price. We finalized our contract with him in March but we weren't able to get the work done until June because the constant rain this spring and some conflicts with other work we were having done on our house. Once we finally got a break from the rain, he was there with his team bright and early Monday morning. He kept us updated on the progress of the waterproofing and we were happy with the finished product. He also replaced our water heater, which was a difficult water heater to replace given the way the original one was put in. He was able to work with the challenging space and replace it.

Overall, Elliott was easy to work with and very communicative throughout the process. We would be happy to work with him again on future projects.

I had a drainage issue that flooded my basement. I knew I had to get it remedied. Dmv plumbing and waterproofing helped unclog the drain and also made the drain bigger so water will flow better. They came out and did a great job just in time for the next storm which caused no issues because of their work. Thanks guys!

Elliot did a great job. I was afraid to call a plumber because so many people try to take advantage of homeowners. He is officially our plumber now. Once you find one who is knowledgeable and trustworthy you can stop looking.

Our basement continuously had a water leak and window well was not installed properly. Elliott worked with our tight budget and was very quick on responding and sounded the most knowledgeable from all 5 contractors we met.

The work was completed in a timely matter. They left the job site clean. Hopefully we will not experience any issues. Company provides 10 years labor warranty and 2 years equipment warranty which is good.

I will call the again for other work around the building if needed.

Elliot is the best plumber in the DMV. I live in an old expensive house that has its share of plumbing issues. Elliot came right away to fix my running toilet. He charged a very fair price and worked great. Also, he's such a nice person. I will call him for all my plumbing needs and I recommend him.. Thank you so much!

Elliott is an amazing person and very knowledgable person. While he was working on the running water issue , he found out the valve was broken. He didn't charge extra labor for the additional work but just for the parts. He gave me the right recommendations and helped me avoid over spending for no reason. It's hard to find folks like Elliott these days. I would defenitely recommend anyone who needs plumbing services , he also mentioned that he works with sump pumps. If anyone is looking for a knowdegable and honest person, he is the person.

My water heater went out suddenly on a Tuesday morning. I'd never had any issues with it before so had no idea who to call. Thankfully I found Elliott's company on Yelp. He was able to come out the same day (!) and replace it, plus haul away the old one. Very responsive and reliable service. Highly recommend!

When I finally reached someone to set up an estimate, they kept having excuses. I tried to set up an appointment on three separate dates and each time there was an excuse. Each time I had to call when I realized they were late. In other words, they were late and never gave a courtesy call to inform me that they would be late. They just had an excuse and never showed...each time.

Made a call for clogged drain. And an expert opinion on another issue. Elliott came out very quickly. He diagnosed the problem and snaked my sink in the half bath. He also, looked at my basement bathroom where another contractor was telling me I have a problem. He saved me from doing work that I didn't need to do. I was told I have to tear the floor up to fix a non existent issue. He was able to explain the unnecessary major work I was told that was needed. He was excellent and very professional. I would call him again anytime I need plumbing work. Highly recommended.

I can't say enough about how honest and hard working Elliott is!  We had an issue with our plumbing that unfortunately, is now in the hands of DC and will need to be fixed by the city.  Since, it was DC's problem and Elliott couldn't fix the issue, he did not charge us anything even though he was at our home for over 9 hours and 2 days!  I found my plumber and really just appreciated him, his responsiveness and his philosophy and not charging until there is a solution.

This company was a pleasure to work with! They waterproofed my basement quick and did a great job! They dug down to the foundation, applied concrete and two layers of waterproofing material. I couldn't be happier with their service. This is my second time using them. The first time was for crawl space waterproofing.

Called Elliot a second time for a toilet clog. It needed to be snaked. We made an appointment for Monday and he didn't show up. Then, we made another appointment for Wednesday and he didn't show up again. He said he was working on another job that took him late into the evening. Finally, he came by Thursday evening. Took him about 10-15 minutes to snake the toilet.  Said he charges $225 but will reduce to $185 bc of the no shows. That seemed really high as I've paid as low as $100-$140 to get a toilet snaked in the past. We agreed on $140.

Reducing to 1 star due to the very poor reaction to my honest review. I could post screen shots of the text messages but I'm going to hold off for now.

I had a clogged toilet and found Elliott through Yelp. He was responsive, gave an estimate, and scheduled a time. He took care of it quickly and charged the low end of the estimate.

He was responsive by text, which was awesome. He was dealing with an emergency job and changed the appointment time but kept me updated.  Wouldn't hesitate to call him again.

My wife woke up this morning and informed me- at 0530- we had no hot water. I was like *psh* just run the hot for a minute and it will kick in. I put out some texts to friends looking for recommendations eventually leading me to Yelp. I send out some quote requests and *BING BANG BOOM* DMV  Plumbing and Waterproofing to the rescue.
Elliot is the man. He was very knowledgeable right from the break. He quoted me a price that was in my budget and reasonable considering the exigent nature of the job and the high end DMV market.
He was very professional and was killing it with the tunes. DC homes- ours no exception- are tight spaces, but he was able to install the new water heater and remove the old water heater with very little effort. Like threading a needle.
I appreciate Elliot's hard work and am now the proud owner of a brand new water heater and glorious hot water.

Our water heater leaked and I placed a request on Yelp. Elliott responded promptly, provided an accurate description of what he proposed to do, gave me an early installation date, and a good price too.  Then he showed up promptly, and did a thoroughly professional job.  5-stars.

We found DMV plumbing here on yelp, and reached out to get an estimate on a sewer back up problem we were having in our basement. Elliott was quick to respond and was able to schedule for an estimate visit shortly after reaching out. After assessing our situation, he recommended replacing our 70 year old cast iron waste lines. He was the 3rd quote we received for this intensive job and he came in significantly less than the others and provided a quick time line to complete the work. Elliott and his crew completed the work as promised and we are happy to no longer have backup issues! Elliott was professional and communicated any issues found during the work. I highly recommend reaching out to Elliott for your plumbing or waterproofing needs!

I was looking around for plumbers in the area to stop our shower/tub from dripping water and found Elliot. He responded immediately after I requested a quote and was very informative and helpful. He was able to come the next morning (which was amazing) and the quote that he gave me was very reasonably priced too.

He came the next morning and started fixing our shower/tub by replacing our cartridge. There was an unforeseen circumstance while he was fixing it but he was able to resolve the issue with no problem. Worked hard and diligently the whole time. Super nice and friendly too!

At 6pm, I sent out a quote request on Yelp for unclogging a bathtub drain and Elliott answered immediately. Not only with the best price but also he accommodated my next day  timeframe given that it was for my tenant.  Elliott arrived first thing the next morning and resolved the issue quickly and effectively.  No nonsense assistance.  My tenant is very happy and so am I.  

He charged me exactly what he quoted me. No additional hidden fees and all that. I highly recommend Elliott and will be using him again!  5 STARS!

Elliot is the man!  Had a leaking water main that was turning my yard into a soggy mess.  Elliot was quick to respond via text and came by the next day for a consult and estimate.  We agreed on a price (which was less then the other 3 estimates I got), and Elliot and his crew showed up the next day (Saturday) at 7 am.  The work turned out to be much longer and harder then expected, the line was buried very deep and entangled in large roots.  They went above and beyond, dug a huge trench over 40' and replaced the line all the way to house and replaced the connection inside the house and resealed everything.  This was way more then he had to do.  They didn't leave until the job was finished (14 straight hours).  The crew is solid, worked all day (very hard hand digging), never slowing down and always in good spirits.  

Elliot personally responds to all inquiries, he's a cool guy and a straight shooter.  Even though the job turned out to be twice as hard as we expected, he didn't flinch, complain or try to up sell me.  I think I got lucky picking him, and he's definitely now my go-to for anything plumbing, drainage or waterproofing related.

Elliot did a fine job installing a sump pump in our home. He stuck to the timeline and price that he originally quoted us, which was great. However, he left all of the torn up concrete by our back fence instead of disposing it. We learned after he left that our trash collection service doesn't dispose concrete.

When I contacted Elliot about getting rid of the concrete, he agreed to come by and take it away, but then stopped answering my texts, phone calls, and emails.

I would highly recommend this plumber for their professionalism, courtesy and trustworthy. They are reliable and courteous. Ant the times with COVID-19 they show up at my home with masks and correct tools to finish the job. And as far as the price for work they are extremely reasonable and they do get the job done. If there was more than five stars I would've went higher.

Had a great experience with Elliot and his team. I had an issue with an exterior wall on a 50+ year old house. He was very candid about the steps I needed to take and the associated costs to waterproof it. Due to covid and telework, I was home for the duration of the project. He would regularly call me out to show me what they were finding and talk me through the work that was being done. He even entertained a ton of random questions I had about waterproofing and plumbing. All in all, great experience and will be calling him again in the future when we run into waterproofing/plumbing problems. As a side note, we realized towards the end of the work that I had attended high school many years ago with his brother. Small world!

We thought we would be working with Elliott, but were sent a team from NoVa Plumbing even though we contacted DMV Plumbing.  We were told Elliott does mostly waterproofing and one of the people from NOVA is DMV's head technician.  

The diagnosis from the NOVA team was a shower drain problem.  They were prepared to demo our entire shower and told us to go look for matching tile.   Then call back to schedule the demo and repair.  This diagnosis didn't seem right to us, as the leak continued for several days (even though all water was turned off in the bathroom).  We got a second opinion after NOVA was here and found a damaged pipe behind the sink was the cause for the leak.

I know this is tricky work - so glad we didn't demo our shower.

The disposal started leaking in my rental unit and Elliot was great. He was able to come in less than 24 hours, his pricing was very reasonable, communication was great, and the repair looks good. He had no problem using a replacement disposal that I had  purchased myself, and made the coordination of the repair very easy. Highly recommended.

Elliot was super responsive, quickly identified the water issue in my basement and wrote up a detailed quote I could share. Soon after they started and competed work in the same day. The team was prompt, professional, and worked hard to complete and show me the process. You'd never guess my back yard was dug up today. Thank you! Highly recommend.

My water heater quit on a Sunday afternoon. Elliot helped diagnose the problem remotely and offered advice on how to mitigate water damage until the next day when he came and replaced the unit, based on my availability. Elliot's costing was in line or below other quotes I received and his work was efficient. He even cleaned up after replacing the unit and offered great advice on how to maintain the life of the new water heater.

While I hope I don't have to call on him again soon, I won't hesitate to if I need help with plumbing issues.

Really appreciated Elliott and his team's timely service and attention to detail. Reached out to him mid-week, he came out on a Friday afternoon to take a look, and then next day on Saturday him and his two guys showed up at 7:30am and got to work. On top of that they finished the whole project within a day and cleaned everything up. We were having basement leaking issues and Elliott identified the problem as being the old, clogged up drain. They dug it up, cut the old pipe's end, put on a new pipe, and installed a much better drain system. They made sure the new surface flowed downstream toward the drain. All in all very pleased and think the price was reasonable too. Admittedly only based on one encounter but would highly recommend.

I needed my toilet fixed as soon as possible!  I reached out to several plumbers and none of them were available and put me on the back burner and asked to schedule me during the week!  

Elliott however was able to come see me on the WEEKEND, and was the first person to respond to my emails.  He was very articulate in probing questions needed about the type of problem I was having.  I knew spot on that he was a true professional!  

He even came out to me earlier than planned and was super friendly and got the job done without a problem.  I asked for recommendations on brand name toilets and he gave me good ones.  He even educated me on solving problems about my toilet should the need arise again (hopefully not).  Without his assistance, I would have been waiting forever for a plumber to come out and probably would have had to take time off of work.  

I cannot thank Elliott enough and I will be DEFINITELY recommending his services to everyone I know!  My dog even liked him too! :)

Elliot did great work on an initial couple of toilet clogs- he was friendly, prompt, and reasonably priced. But he recently fixed a leaking sink in an incomplete way and it has continued leaking. This may have been a manufacturing defect involving replacement pipe, but after initially promising to fix it, he has completely disappeared. He did not show up for his appointment and has completely stopped responding to my calls and messages. Very disappointed and I lost $275 plus my sense of trust.

No idea about their services, but the scheduling was terrible. I re-scheduled twice to have someone come fix some clogged drains, and after the third time they didn't respond and didn't show up. I would've been happy to have them do the work but they never came, and on the day of didn't respond when the person failed to show up at the appointed time. Huge waste of my time.

Last year I used this company to fix my sink stopper and the work was done correctly and at a reasonable price. This week I called Elliott to schedule another repair. He pulled a no show twice. The first time he said it was an emergency, so I was ok with that and rescheduled. The second time he didn't show up at all. Didn't respond to my text. I was going back to him since I like to provide business to locals but this was unacceptable.

Elliott saved the day. I was having a serious issue with a water backing up and a clog in my main line. He was quick to respond to my message, showed up the same day, communicated clearly what the issue was, and had very fair and reasonable pricing. He ran out mid-job after my issue caused his snake head to break - and stayed plugging away until he busted through the clog - and like a vortex the water I had been bailing in my back patio was an issue no more.

Though I hope I don't need him anytime soon - he will be my go to call for future plumbing needs.

Elliot was probably one of the best, if not the best, repairman services I've ever had to hire. Had a water heater that was starting to show it's age and he was one of the first to respond, offering the best price I could find on our budget. Great work attitude and knows what he's doing. Handled the installation himself with ease (yes, that includes moving the old heater out and the new one in by himself!). On top of all this, he was very accommodating to my schedule, he showed up on time while I was still having to handle some of my own work. Came back an hour later and started the job.

Elliott came to my house to install a new water heater today and did a great job! He was able to fit me in the schedule very quickly and showed up promptly as scheduled. His pricing was great and his work was perfect! He brought the new water heater, took the old one, and set everything up great! It is a gas water heater and he took care of moving the gas and connecting everything back as well. His work was very clean and I would certainly recommend him to anyone else looking for a great plumber!

Owning a home with tenants living in it while I am living in a different state (military) means that hiring contractors can be a total nightmare. I'm happy to say this was one of the smoothest long distance repairs I've organized. Elliott provided lots of pictures for my peace of mind and even recommended someone to do indoor flooring work. They left the job site clean and in good condition. Progress was shown via photos . Very glad I called them.

Our upstairs bathroom although recently renovated was built over a 100 year old cast iron plumbing. The bathtub drain has never been the best but  most recently it had stopped draining altogether. I reached out to 3-4 contractors. DMV plumbing was the first to respond. He came by our house within 2 hours and worked tirelessly for 2.5hrs to help unclog the drain. After numerous attempts to push  out the gunk with his tools, he was able to get a working drain again! Yay! I would highly recommend DMV plumbing. Elliott is a very experienced plumber and is also very cordial and professional. He kept trying until our drain was clog free. I'm super appreciative of his efforts and will be reaching out to him again should there be any new plumbing issues.

I hired DMV Plumbing to address a leak in my basement.  I was initially impressed with Elliott. I entered into a contract with him and he provided me with a 15 year warranty. Within one month of the completion of his work I experienced a leak. While he was repairing that issue he shared with me that his work man did not install plastic covering to seal the walls.  He assured me that he would come back install The membrane in it's entirety to prevent future leaks. Despite numerous broken promises, he never returned to the property. Fast forward two months, my basement has continued to  leak and there has been damage to the property. not to mention frustration on the part of tenants who live in the unit.   I have had other companies confirm that the foundation wall is the source of the problem. I must now have the job redone.  This has been a horrible experience.  Please do yourself a Huge favor and do not use DMV plumbing.

Texted back and forth with this company, shared photos of issue and was given confirmed appointment of 1-3 pm today. Didn't hear anything by 3:30 pm so tried calling and texted to get update on ETA and No response! Complete NO SHOW with no communication! Very frustrated as this wasted my time as well as my tenant's who were expecting this plumber and now we are even more delayed in fixing time sensitive issue. Do not recommend!

Was notified by building maintenance of a water leak Sunday afternoon and after getting a very unreasonable quote from a mainstream plumbing company I came on here and got a quote from DMV Plumbing from Elliott and Dave after doing a quick facetime to show him the issues. The quote I received was inline with expectations and was more than half the other quote I received from the other plumber. We scheduled work for the following morning. Dave and team were here timely and quickly processed through the job. Walked me through what they did and ensured I was happy with the work prior to leaving.

So I'd describe the work as affordable, quality, friendly and transparent. I'd recommend and they will be the first plumbers I call if I have any issues in the future.

My water heater decided to spring a leak and my building manager said that I needed to fix it ASAP!  Elliott came to the rescue THAT NIGHT and replaced it!  He was very patient and professional and definitely knew what he was doing! Not only did they fix the issue and provide plenty of pictures, they did this all while it was freezing cold in December. Had scheduled for him to come out to help with a drain for the following week. Day of he no showed and didn't respond to any messages sent.

It was early in the morning and I was washing a few dishes before work - and noticed that there was a small flood underneath my sink. A quick FaceTime with my Dad (not embarrassed, Dad knows best) and him telling me I needed a new garbage disposal because there's a huge crack in it. Oops, didn't even see that while I was watching Niagara Falls in my kitchen. A few texts and some pictures later, Elliott was at my condo and the garbage disposal was replaced. I received call backs from plumbers after he was done that they could be there in a week or two and it would cost twice as much.

Oh - and did I mention it was the ultimate horrible day and I had to leave him in my house to take the dog to the vet? He's the nicest, kindest person and made sure that the repair was okay and that my dog was okay! Just give him a call, he's wonderful.

Not reliable.  I called to have someone come out and was told he would be out same day.  He didn't show and promised to show the next day.  He didn't call and didn't show.  Waste of my time!  Don't bother!

Please do not waste your time and money with this company.  Like one of the other reviewers I still had water coming into my house that should have been fixed by Elliott.  Each time I called him to come back out he lied and not only that he won't answer his phone he will only text you.  Either his axle was broke on his truck, he had an emergency in NY, or just plain lied that he was coming to finish the job.  If you have an issue TRUST AND BELIEVE ME AND THE OTHER REVEIWER YOU WON'T HEAR BACK FROM Elliott.  I will be reporting to the BBB.  USE ANOTHER REPUTABLE COMPANY.  After he gets your money you won't hear from him.

Amazing experience with Elliott - he was very responsive and helped diagnose the issue within a few minutes with exchanging some photos. So helpful and easy to talk to! The price was pretty good too - really fair especially compared to the other quotes I got. I found Elliot at DMV on Yelp through the messaging feature. He was the first to respond out of 10 plumbers and was able to give me a quote before coming out. He showed up the same day and snaked my shower and sink. We needed him to come back later that week with a bigger snake for a different clog but he was easy to communicate with. When he came back he was blasting heavy metal from his phone while he worked which I thought was a little unprofessional but I'm not going to dock him a star for it. Overall, pretty good experience.

Contacted a bunch of local plumbers to replace a water heater. Elliott was quick to respond with very reasonable pricing and a flexible schedule. He was also the only plumber who gave a detailed description of why the old water heater was not working properly after diagnosing it through our consultation.  He arrived within an hour and finished within an hour. Best service with Elliott hands down! I contacted him over the weekend for emergency services due to a burnt wire on our hot water heater and he responded within 5 mins of inquiry. He was able to let me know the issue, give me a quote and was willing to come out the next day for service ( on a Sunday!). I had a leak in my basement.  Elliott and his crew waterproofed the front of my home.  They did the work on the weekend, when I was unable to find someone else to complete the work.  Elliott was friendly and professional and I have not had any other problems with the leak since then.

We had a 10 year old water heater on it's last legs. I put in a request for a quote on yelp and was contacted immediately. And they were available to schedule the very next day.

They were able to replace my water heater with a much better model. At less than 1/3 of the price that other plumbers quoted me.

Service was quick and professional. He even cleaned up some of the shoddy pipe work of the previous installer.

10/10. I'll be using DMV for all of my future plumbing needs

Another fantastic repair by Elliott. Kitchen had a short-notice sink problem. I put out a quote request via yelp and within minutes he gave a very fair quote (especially compared to competitors). Elliott was here within the hour. He quickly and efficiently replaced our busted old kitchen sink, and now we have a very nice, brand new replacement.

Elliott is friendly (even loves dogs), professional, and very realistic with assessments and advice. He even gave very reasonable advice on questions I had about other sinks, including how to DIY other problems. I have worked with him twice now and will continue to.

If I could give negative stars I would. Seems like a one man operation. The number provided rings a personal cell phone. The man on the other end of the line was a no-show twice and then stopped returning my phone calls or answering my text altogether. Don't waste your time with this guy.

We just bought a new house and found out our PRV wasn't working during our inspection, and a few of our gate valves needed to be replaced with ball valves. Hired Elliott to fix a leaky faucet. He told me I needed a specific part, which I ordered. When he came by to take a look at it, he told me that He was mistaken and I actually needed a different part (the website that he told me to order it from doesn't allow returns). I paid him for more than half of his service and ordered the part that was needed. We scheduled him to come by today at 10:30 AM. When I was running a few minutes late, I messaged Elliott to give him a heads up. He told me he was across town fixing a plumbing emergency. I asked him what was his ETA. He could not give it to me. I decided to run some errands while waiting, but after two hours, I still have not heard from him. I messaged and called him without any response. At some point, he messages to tell me he will be here between 2-3 PM. It is now past 3:30 PM; I have wasted five hours waiting for him and he is nowhere to be found and is unresponsive to all messages and calls. I regret paying for even half the money upfront.

Quoted $650 to install a sink and a stand pipe on an existing drain.  Stand pipe went in no problem, but the sink was another story.  He cracked the inlet valve to the faucet during the install and tried to tell me it came that way.  OK whatever - I paid him and he said he would come back and finish the job once I got a replacement valve.  But as soon as he left, he ghosted me.  Multiple scheduled dates, multiple days off work, he just never showed, sent excuses over text, and then did it all again.  I ended up giving up and finishing the job myself.  What gives man, why not just tell me you weren't coming back?

Recently I had to obtain an estimate for some waterproofing of a crawl space. This company was amazingly responsive and provided a thorough and very reasonable quote, including a lifelong warranty.

We were having issues with our drain being clogged in our kitchen sink, Elliott was extremely quick and professional in responding to our request via Yelp. He came the very next day and even gave us some help the night before to make sure the problem didn't get any worse. Elliott was on time for the apppointment and fixed our issue quickly and without any additional problems. We'd definitely work with him again.

We came home on a Sunday evening to find our basement level filling up with water from an unknown source.  Elliott responded to my desperate call and was at my house within a 1/2 hour and in short order had the source identified (a broken pipe in the wall) and repaired.  Price was reasonable and service was exceptional.

Reasonable quote, on time and really hard working.  They dug out the front of my house down to the foundation and waterproofed the concrete, as I was having some seepage in my basement from outside water.  Courteous and cleaned up after they were done.  Would recommend for waterproofing.

He never showed up or called. I called and text him several times with no answer. I still have not heard from him as of today and it has been. I would not recommend this business. If the owner doesn't take pride in honoring his appointment, do you really want him working in your home. I say not.

DMV plumbing was very easy to work with. Price was much better than other larger companies. Great overall experience. I will use again if I need any plumbing work done.

Working with Elliot was great! He helped me troubleshoot via text first before scheduling an appointment. He was very responsive and flexible with his schedule. His work was quick and effective. Will definitely use him again!

Elliot is the best he was able to come to my home on the same day and fix damage done by another plumber. He was able to get in diagnose the issue quickly and get the job all done in under 2 hours.

Elliott was great. Really nice guy. Was very quick to respond to my yelp request. Quickly solved my sink issue. Also asked him about future renovations I am planning and found his advice very helpful.

Their team was great!  They were able to schedule an appointment on incredibly short notice, and managed to fix a *unique* problem I was having with a toilet.  Super professional and would definitely hire them again.
