About 2 weeks ago, after my 15 yr old garbage disposal died, I reached out to DC Plumber / 4Fast Plumber, and owner Mike Orehowsky came out to replace it.
But a few days after that, my sink started backing up. I then had to go away for a week, so plumber Josh Harvey returned to fix this new issue today. (I live in a condo building in downtown DC that has recently had a lot of bad kitchen sewer issues, so it was only a matter of time that the issue happened to me.)
First off, Josh discovered horrible initial installation of the kitchen pipes... calling it sheer negligence and laziness.
Basically, the pipe coming out of the wall that leads to the sewer should have had a proper threaded connection on it. Instead, it was a raw pipe that was not properly sealed shut. The plumber said it was a major water leak intrusion waiting to happen!
Josh told me today that he's 43 yrs old and has been plumbing since he was 14, and had never seen such laziness in an initial install. It never should have been signed off on by the Faison contractor/builder of my building.
So long story short. These guys know their stuff. I highly recommend them.
