HISTORY

Established in 1957.
Rakeman Home Repair was started by Fred Rakeman in the 1950’s, serving the home repair needs of the Las Vegas valley. Mr. Rakeman built a good loyal customer base and to this day we still have our customers call us for service and stating how they use to know Fred Rakeman. In the 1970’s Rakeman Home Repair was acquired by Bob Lange. Mr. Lange obtained a State of Nevada Contractors C-1 license and renamed the company Rakeman Plumbing. While still keeping the longtime customers along with creating new loyal customers, Mr. Lange expanded the company to also serve the commercial businesses in the valley. In the early 1980’s Stephen Hawley, the owner of Classic Plumbing, a new construction plumbing company was looking for a well-respected 24 hour service plumbing company to compliment his already successful Classic Plumbing. Mr. Hawley purchased complete ownership of Rakeman Plumbing in the 1990’s to allow Mr. Lange to start a new plumbing company for his son to have.

ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER

The home warranty company sent a plumber over to fix the water flow for my faucet but the plumber said the faucet is broken and could not be fixed. I wanted a second opinion so I called Rakeman Plumbing. The plumber came over and was able to fix it within a few minutes. Super professional and very friendly. Great work.!

We have used Rakeman Plumbing several times, and love the service provided. Our favorite plumber is Corky, an old school plumber who doesn't upsell, is conscientious, fast, and cleans up the area well after the job is done. We couldn't be more pleased with the service provided. Very service oriented, and we would now never go anywhere else.

Came to the house to look at the water heater and first recommended it need to be changed but was only the pipe leading to the water heater. Not very service oriented.

Hot water heater went out and was under warranty still and was given Rakeman as a point of contact who honors warranties. I couldn't get through reading off the first three letters of serial number before the sloppy communicator on the other side interrupts me to proudly announce this type of water heater is not something they will service....smh...I needed it replaced not services; but it was obvious this company isn't looking to provide the best service.

I've used this company 4 different times over the last 15 years. And every time, the service and quality of work is great. Most recently, my kitchen faucet broke on a Friday night. I have an AHS warranty. But their company couldn't come out until the following Tuesday. Rather then go 4 days with out a kitchen sink, I called Rakeman (at 8:00am on a Saturday morning. They had a tech their by 10:30. A great guy named Randy. He located the problem, and gave me my options. I could repair it. Or, for not that much more, he could install a whole new faucet set. I told him to go ahead and put a new one in. By noon, I had a brand new faucet, at a great price. Previously, I had used this company to install a water softener, and also to fix a cracked pipe in my front yard. A really great company to do business with.

While we were gone for the holidays, our hot water conked out.   Our neighbor saw the water running out from the garage.   Fortunately, Rakeman Plumbing sent a crew out that very day and replaced our hot water heater by that afternoon.  The installation work was very professional.   The work area was completely clean when we returned.

We have used Rakeman before and I keep them on speed dial.  They are professional in every sense and is highly recommend them to all my friends

I woke up to water on my garage floor from my water heater and called Rakeman plumbing at the recommendation of a friend who works in home repairs/improvement.  They were fantastic.  They got someone out to my house right away and they quickly replaced the 14-year old water heater.  Corky was the repairman and he was really great (very funny) and knowledgeable and explained everything to me.  This week, I needed to replace my water softener and I requested Corky again and he was efficient, helpful and explained how everything worked.  Plus, he brought in my trash cans!  Also, a shout out to the people I spoke with on the phone (Dawn and Angel).  They were fantastic.  I highly recommend Rakeman Plumbing.

I had them come out to change one part on a water heater that they installed a few years prior which was still under warranty. The plumber sat around for hours waiting for them to bring him more parts that I did not agree to and still couldn't fix the problem but ended up charging me over $700 in labor without any invoice or receipt. They decided to put the charge on my card without notifying me of the cost or what was even done to warrant that cost which ended up being more than the cost of a brand new water heater. I called the office to ask where the invoice was and they said it would be sent first thing the following morning. I had to call the next day and ask again just for some girl to tell me it was a process and had to go through several people and even had the gall to hang up on me. This place is a scam and i will be disputing the charges to my card and looking forward to any legal action they might try to take. This company is extremely unprofessional and should not be trusted. There are very obvious fake 5-star reviews on here. There are many other plumbers with better experience that can actually do the job without charging you for just sitting around. Very disappointing.

I really despise calling maintenance workers at anytime. It makes my stomach hurt. When I had to call a plumber on Mother's Day this past Sunday, I just wanted to whine AND cry and throw a tantrum.

So at 5:00 pm I went online and searched for a plumber that knew manufactured homes because my dad lives in one and their parts and machinery are different. James at Rakeman Plumbling answered the phone immediately. I cringed when I asked the price because I knew it would be ridiculous. He said $112 an hour plus parts. Not too bad, but I did start to sweat a little. Two things were wrong: the water heater had a leak, and the sink in the master bath had a leak. James says he'll be there in a few. And he was. And let me add that the website was honkin and he came loaded with every part in a very big impressive truck. Their motto, A flush beats a full house. My marketing ears were perked.

He looks at the water heater and tells me what's wrong and I was thinking how happy I was that my ex-husband was an engineer with a degree in piping who builds refineries at Chevron. Yup. I am in the know. Well actually, my ex-husband is German and has three degrees in engineering but who's counting....

At the same time James checks out the master bath and tries to repair the leak but that is fruitless. I know because I replaced everything I could but it needed a whole new faucet and hardware and he had tools that would rival my fathers antiquated ones.

Well, he fixed the water heater and said it would be cheaper for us to buy the new faucet and he would come back the next day and install it. We said yes please! So my dad and I hightail it to Home Depot before they close because now it is 8:00 pm. We get the faucet and we're back in time for The Good Wife. That's right. You heard me. SEASON FINALE and I'm not gonna miss it. Leak or no leak.

Next day as promised, I get a call asking if James could come by to finish the job. Not to mention he hasn't been paid yet.

He arrives as promised and installs the faucet. I get a call from my dad wanting to know if the amount was right and should he pay. He tells me $360. $112 per hour (2 hours) plus $120 in parts and tax. I said pay the man. It was worth every penny. And toke him too... that's tip in Vegasese....

BTW my dad is 86 and the last time that faucet was changed was over 22 years ago when my ex-husband changed it out. We had been visiting from the bay area and my dad couldn't go gamble with him until the faucet was done. My ex changed it in less than 30 minutes and off they went.

Good times..... ; )

While the painting company they contract is awful, Rakeman plumbing is a good company. The management actually takes time to follow up on their work and personally comes to your house to insure everything is to your satisfaction. Thank you Rocky for being so kind and we recommend using this company in the future.

This review is for Rakeman Air, a part of Rakeman Plumbing. Our 15-year-old A/C compressor stopped working last Friday night. On Saturday morning I called the Rakeman 24/7 service line and left a message. The service manager lived close to us and came over within the hour. He determined that a new compressor was needed, a BIG job.

We hoped it could be done that day and Rakeman did not disappoint. We were up and running by about 4:00 pm! The Rakeman technicians were both polite and efficient. We wouldn't hesitate recommending Rakeman to anyone.

We were told last year by a different AC company that our AC would not last through this next year and we would need to replace it.

My husband decided to call Rakeman plumbing at the recommendation of our family.  They came out last week before we started using our AC and they replaced a part that was going out and said we would be good to go....no new AC needed!

Honest, reliable service!

Rakeman sent out a young man Junior, I believe... who told me to drain hot water from AALL my faucets!   ...the water was running out toooooo HOT no matter what I set the water heater on!!!!  I BEGGED him to do something other than run out ALL MY HOT WATER as I PAY for my water 4 TIMES before it runs out of the tap.  He said it was the only way...  ran out all my water and said there was nothing he could do!!!  Called Honeywell (makers of the control panel on the heater) and they referred me to Bradford White, manufacturer of the water heater.  Very professional and astute customer service and help at both those companies.  Tech at Bradford said it needs a new gas valve regulator... I told him the temp of the water running out (I measured it with a thermometer) and he said 145 degrees is WAAAAAY TOO HOT!!!    ...as I KNEW !!!!  Bradford referred me to their website where they list plumbing companies who are their authorized service people. I did that and Atlas Plumbing is coming this morning....  I am sure they will fix it.  Meantime, I am in a battle with Rakeman as I do not believe I should PAY for what that young man who knows NOTHING ABOUT PLUMBING did here!!!  :(

This Plumbing Service is the worst experience I've ever had with any type of Plumbing Servicing. The receptionist when taking the call did not inform me that I would be charged to move any equipment closest to the hot water heater. While I was moving the shells in my garage it began to collapse. The technician (Corky) stood there and watched as the shelves begin to collapse. He was very condescending with his comments, in which I didn't appreciate. I would highly recommend NOT using this service for the lack of customer service.

We had a leak at the water pressure return valve in the garage. After being warned that this company was notorious for overcharging I stupidly went ahead and called them.  When I asked him about alternatives to the overly inflated charge to replace the worn valve all the plumbing tech could offer was some cheap car salesman pitch. Red flags go up when the guy greets you with how you are going to pay then the repair charge mysteriously went up when told the property was a rental.

these people are among the worst... I call them Rapeman because they are a total rip-off.   If you know anything about plumbing watch the work they do. Pipes are to flow down not up, and that is just the start. Over charging, doing work that really wasn't needed and so on.
It's been a few years and every time I see their trucks I still scream....
One of the reasons you see so many new plumbing companies in town is because all the good people they had working left and started their  companies or to work with places they get treated much better

Once again, these plumbers deliver the goods. They have done a ton of work over the years on my home. They are sweet, kind, get to work and are reasonably priced. Ask for Corky or Mic if you need more serious work and don't want a rookie plumber.

We had a water pressure issue in our house the technician that came out did a great job fixing the problem. After a few days we noticed the pressure low again called a week after to have technician come back out. Their estimated time 8am-5pm is ridiculous, we're supposed to wait around all day long for someone to come out , and on top of it no one showed up for our appointment. I called after 5pm to see where the technician was they apologized and we reschedule for today it is 2:30pm just got a call from them. So much for being the first house schedule for their morning rotation. Not reliable!

When we had a hard freeze on January 14, 2013, we called our buddies at RAKEMAN plumbing. I call them our
bubbies because they have helped us out before. This time our water softner loop/spigot to the outside of our garage wall gave in to the freezing temps. We called and they appeared. They must have been crazy busy, but they had a technician at our house in about an hour. Corky showed up ready to go to battle with the frozen pipes. Within minutes he had it narrowed down to the stub-out for the garden spigot. Fixed it pronto and charged us a very reasonable rate. Considering the amount of calls he had yet to answer and the potential damage, he could have charged us almost anything. Not Corky....we would have him back anytime. These are GOOD PEOPLE at RAKEMAN ! ! If you want it done right, done fast, and don't want to be over-charged, RAKEMAN is (are) the people you want to call.

I would have liked to give Rakeman Plumbing five stars, The service technician is a five. But after spending $3824.68 between two houses I thought they would honor what they print in their advertisement. Seniors and military are entitled to some kind of discounts. I asked and the tech said it wasn't available for the work performed at the two houses. No reason given. I am 74 years young and non-active Marine. (once a marine, always a Marine) So, be sure to ask if a senior discount is available for the kind of work that is to be performed and if you are a veteran or active military, be sure to ask if any discounts are offered.  Mike R.

Mike came out shortky after I called. Was very helpful and got the job done. He was efficient but not rushed. I have used Rakeman before but today was even more standout than usual. The person answering the phones was polite and Mike was never pushy.   It means a lot to me to know the plumbing problem I had was thoroughly taken care of and that I didn't have to wait around at home all day waiting.

My one-year-new tankless water heater broke.  As bad as that was for my husband and me, we were expecting visitors that very same day who were staying for a few days.  I needed a working water heater!  The plumber who installed it was too busy to help and I was referred to Rakeman Plumbing.  They came the same day and somehow managed to find the parts I needed and fixed it within hours. They were prompt, efficient and very understanding of my desperate situation.  Jr. Sension was the Service Technician who did all the work and he even made sure the parts were covered by the warranty (even though the service call was not, of course) .  I highly recommend this company.  They were a lifesaver indeed!  Put their phone number in your phone so you'll have it in a pinch.

Background of the plumbing issue:
My hope is to help others who may have the same problem we had. Our house is in Henderson, NV where at one point, the homeowners were notified they might have to repipe due to issues with Kitec pipes.  My husband and I who are firm believers in don't fix it if ain't broke philosophy stayed our ground until this year when a slab leak happened. We then decided to have the repipe done.

How we researched contractors for the job:
We spent a lot of time researching via the internet. We live in California so it is difficult to find local people in Henderson, Nevada. The best link we came across was from Total Solutions which listed the Primary contractors and others for the Kitec Litigation Program in Nevada. See link below:

kitec.totalclasssolution…

It was a big surprise to learn that after we made phone calls, a lot of the companies listed were either inactive, bankrupt or moved somewhere else. Reason could have been that the Kitec buzz was some years ago... I guess we are late bloomers!

From the Primary List, we picked one of them, our first candidate. Then we searched the City of Henderson's permit section to find out the latest permits issued and to see if we can spot Kitec repipes that were recently done. We found at least three homes, one of whom has just been sold. Upon further research, we found the repipe company who did the work.  This company was our second candidate.  Then we went to search in Yelp, for the third candidate. You hear a lot of stories about made up reviews, but if you are careful, you can spot the scammers. From Yelp, we found the third candidate.

Next step is to google everything about the candidates, read up on all the reviews, check licenses, Better Business Bureau complaints etc. The three were invited to do the estimates, emailed them questions afterwards as to their services and products they will be using. It is important to make everything in writing compared to verbal/phone calls. Then we researched the products to be used, called the manufacturer for details, who then emailed us the answers. It was very tempting to make your decision on who to pick based on the price/estimates presented.  All three of them appear to be decent contractors and competent. If you can afford it, don't let the price stop you from choosing a quality company. We are glad we did, in Rakeman!

Rakeman Plumbing:
Decision was made based on who can help us the best, now and in the future, based on experience, knowledge, history and name recognition. We choose Rakeman Plumbing out of the three. It was a wise decision we later found out.  Not only are they accommodating, they employ very good people. That's their secret for longevity I think. Rocky Berger knew his stuff, he explained the Kitec Repipe process like no other. After we received an estimate and informed him his company got the job, we asked for a copy of the contract for us to review. Reading the exceptions in the contract was scary at first but once he explained them, we realized they have to cover themselves too.  A day before the job was started, we wrote the company a check for half of the cost of the repipe.

The repipe process:
First day, started early at 730 am.Garage was open the whole time they were working. We stationed someone at the garage area to secure the house from strangers not connected to the job .Appliances were moved, dishwasher to the garage and refrigerator out of the way. A couple of workers did the plastic protection for all affected work areas. Water was turned off, drywall was cut for specific areas and repiping started soon after that. At around 5 pm, amazingly, water was restored! Adan and his crew, made that all possible.

Next day, city inspector showed up, did his job and educated us on some points about the job being done. In the afternoon, the drywall was put back and paint was applied in affected areas, garage and inside the house. Miguel and Lola did a beautiful job on the color match for the paint! Next day, the dishwasher, refrigerator, garage sink and water softener unit were put back in place. We opted to have a new Pressure regulator and that was also installed.

Post repipe phone calls with Rakeman:
After the final check was issued, it is of course normal for a homeowner to worry if the contractor will even receive your call or text you back afterwards! With Rakeman, it's different. When something minor needed to be done, his men came back, the same way they started before: respectful, competent and nice. Thank you, Rocky and thank you to all the workers at Rakeman who made this a great experience!

Tip:
Respect goes both ways, when you deal with workers, treat them with respect, be nice and try to always ask for their first names. This way they will treat you and your house with respect. Make them comfortable and make them feel they are fixing their own house. You will get a lot out of it.

Eric was nothing short of amazing! This gentleman showed up in a mask, addressed all my concerns and was very friendly and professional! There were a few issues as far as garbage disposal, low pressure toilet and clogged sink. The work was done quickly and adequately with great customer service. Eric stated the best resolution was a new toilet, a second gentleman Carey, also wearing a mask, showed up with a new one in less than 30 minutes to install to resolve all issues the first time!

I'm giving them 5 stars because that's all that's allowed! Great job guys!

STRONGLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Terrible.  Scheduled an appointment and stressed that I needed a first appointment.  I was told no problem,  but if there was I would get a call and we could reschedule.  Appointment comes and goes and when I call back I'm told that they don't make appointments but provide 4 hour windows.  No apology,  no offer to reschedule,  I was just told that the girl who booked the appointment would be spoken to.  That doesn't help much.

We just got ripped off. Was told flat rate of $990 before they looked at water heater, but that sounded possible if the water heater was to be $500 and he would be here for say 3-4 hours, plus maybe parts too. He came out. Took our old one out, put new one in, in 1 hour exactly. That was it. Then asked for the $990.00. I called the service line and asked why the labor is $440.00 for 1 hour of labor. They said it's just part of their flat rate because it could have taken him 3 hours instead of 1 hour. But it didn't take them 3 hours, I told them. They said, sorry, is what it is, just is our rate. They then explained oh, by the way, that includes a permit. I asked what that permit is, as no one had mentioned. They explained in a couple of weeks guy has to come out to check out their work to see if they did a good job and I'll be hearing about that soon to schedule. What? They hadn't mentioned that unless I called in to ask about their prices being too high? Anyways, totally not happy with this company and feel ripped off :(. Stay away from them. Wish we had had time to research better options.

No being a big fan of plumbers I have CHANGED my opinion I needed plumber to repair my Hot water heater for the 3rd time, Well they sent me out a gentleman By the name of Junior Sension and he was the best, he explained to me what the water heater company needed him to do before they would warranty the part which I never had to do the other 2 times as it was having the same problem which was going to cost me a service call, Junior checked everything every faucet, shower in the house for temperature, he said the problem was as I had stated and he would call them in the am and order the part he also found a bad value in the master shower which he replaced on the spot as he carries parts, the next day they called and said they had the part and 20 minutes later he was at the door. It took him 20 minutes to replace the gas controller, The temp was back to were it was supposed to be. Rakeman Plumbing is now my new plumber when I need one. Junior was honest and a very caring person he also gets it done so you are not paying for wasted time. RAKEMAN YOU ROCK

I called another plumber but they couldn't come out so they recommended this place. I called them first thing in the morning and they came within several hours. They told me they would be there ASAP and then told me their service man was on the way. I wish they gave me more specific times.

They fixed my leaky shower in about 30 minutes. The plumber had the part in the truck. He was polite.

After he left, I Googled the part and found that I was charged about double what it was online (even after the teacher discount). I am a little upset about that but otherwise they did a fine job.

I had an issue with continuous water flow in my home reported to me by the Las Vegas Valley Water District. I called Rakemen Plumbing and requested that a plumber check for leaks. Rocky, a Rakeman representitive came to house and quickly eliminated leaks within my home and with my pool as a source of the leak. He noted that a continuous flow of water existed when my irrigation system was turned on. My landscape maintenance man was here at the time and he discovered two external watering system valves were mafunctioning; they took care of the problem by cleaning the diaphrams. I told Rocky that I had a leak under the kitchen sink and requested that someone from Rakeman correct the problem. Within an hour a Rakeman plumber arrived and he removed and replaced the leaking components. He was polite, professional and completed the job quickly.  To my surprise, I received a 10% senior's discount.

I would not hesitate to call Rakeman for Plumbing problems in the future.
Fast response and very honest company.

Highly recommended.

Rakeman was hired to run a camera down an old sewer line under house built in 1942 I had under contract to purchase in old Henderson.  The plumber with Rakeman was very knowledgeable, could easily determine where main sewer line was and the configuration of an addition including plumbing, probably built in the 70's.  The camera showed us the old cast iron 4 line under old, original house was cracked, had serious root growth inside and appeared to be collapsed.  That inexpensive inspection saved me many thousands of dollars of potential sewer main repair under house, including ripping up newly renovated floor to replace main line.

This is the 2nd work order done with this company and both times they have given me an open availability of 8am to 5pm. At both times did no one show up. I should not have to follow up with a company to make sure a work order is done. The amount of time taken off to have no one show up. This is poor service. This is also my first time with this company. Bad 1st impression. I would not recommend if we can't set up a scheduled time. Poor customer service and takes to long to get work order done.

Awesome service ! Had a water heater installed by another lesser company who wouldn't come out and fix it inside the warranty period without charging me on top !! Staff who helped me with thewarranty were excellent (Wendy) and Rakeman sent a technician (Junior) out within a few hours who was fantastic. First rate job, very professional and will definately use them from now on !!

We had a toilet that was leaking and also needed new parts inside.  We called Rakeman Plumbing as we have used them before with great results.  Gene came out and did an excellent job repairing our toilet and replacing the inside parts!  He took out the two old wax rings (which he noted were incorrectly placed--a new one over an old one by a different plumbing company). He correctly used 2 brand new wax rings and now the toilet works fine and is nice and solid!   Would highly recommend Rakeman Plumbing and Gene!

Thank you! Ernie and Joann

This review is a couple of years late. With all due respect to plumbers they're just not at the forefront of most people's minds, so I didn't recall my great interactions with Rakeman until I ran into a new plumbing problem (which I'll be calling them to resolve tomorrow).

My plumber at Rakeman was always Mike. He's a big guy who doesn't mind working his tail off to fix problems ... he's definitely not one of those guys who takes one peak and then whips out some crazy bill. This guy worked his rear end off trying to fix an issue our builder stuck us with. He couldn't, but no regular plumber on a truck could've: The builder didn't install a clean-out in our front yard, so Mike could have stayed all night trying to fix that and nothing would have happened.

His level of I'm GONNA FIX THIS was just out of this world in today's society. He was like a man possessed.

Because of that I call Rakeman everytime I have a plumbing problem.

PS - I took estimates for fixing the clean-out in the front yard. They ranged from $1200 to $25000. Rakeman was very close to the lower end of bids.

Yesterday Jan 10 2020 between 3:30 & 4;00 pm one of their employees pulled right out in front of me on Las Vegas Boulevard South & Ford Street.  I drive a small Fiat & it was a good sized work vehicle, I could have been killed!  Please teach your drivers how to drive safely!!

Thank you Rakeman plumbing and Magic Mike for coming out today and addressing our plumbing issues. Magic Mike was amazing, found our problems right away, was very informative and time efficient. Customer service is the best I have dealt with in a long time.  Thank you for sending your best drain guy! The whole warehouse actually thanks you!

I will never use this company again! I had a toilet issue and paid over $150.00 for the service and had the issue again a week later. ( we never use this toilet  I just happen to check it)I call for them to come out again and they stated it would be another charge.

We had a hot water leak under the slab foundation of our house.  Rakeman had the best quote and we liked the way they presented themselves.  Work started on a Monday morning and the plumbers who did the new hot water line were great.  Very careful of the appliances they moved and did a great job of prepping the area to avoid an excess mess.  We also hired Rakeman's sister company to do the restoration work.  They came on Wednesday and once again, great work in keeping the mess to a minimum and the drywall work was very well done.  We were told they would be back on Thursday at 8 am to finish the painting and then a plumber would come back out to reinstall the dishwasher, washer and dryer that had been disconnected and moved.  They didn't show up and I didn't get a call explaining the change.  It took three calls to Rakeman's office to get the supervisor to call.  I had noticed the texture had problems after it dried and the supervisor, Rocky, apologized for us not being notified of the schedule change and assured us the crew would be out in the afternoon to correct the texture and paint.  Then things went down hill...the restoration guys said they were told to connect the appliances - not the plumber that we were told multiple times would be handling that.  They didn't know what they were doing, which became apparent when I had to tell them to turn on the gas to the dryer and check for leaks.  They also installed my dishwasher massively crooked...one inch under the counter on the left and one inch sticking out from the counter on the right.  And after they left and the paint dried, it was obvious they had purchased the wrong finish of paint.  I called Rocky and once again, he apologized and told us how he'd get the paint guys AND a plumber out the next day, Friday.  When the restoration guys got here Friday afternoon they told me they were going to correct the dishwasher reinstall...when I told them that it had to be a plumber, I was told, after a supervisor phone call, that the plumber would be out MONDAY.  I tried to call Rocky, but he didn't pick up his phone or have voice mail, so I called the office and told them that was unacceptable.  Rocky called back and turned into Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.  Yelling into the phone at me about the fact my dishwasher didn't work - it was being replaced under warranty and because of that, it had to be installed correctly for the warranty to apply.  I painted the patches myself with the paint they picked up (I didn't want anymore time wasted moving appliances) ...and a plumber did show up to correct the dishwasher problem and check all the connections to the washer and dryer.

Would I use Rakeman again - absolutely!!  Would I use the restoration company again - probably,  But - DO NOT LET ANYONE OTHER THAN A PLUMBER RECONNECT YOUR APPLIANCES.  Remember, gas, water and electricity problems can destroy your home!! And make sure they put that in writing on your quote.  I was told multiple times that a plumber would be doing the work, but they kept scheduling others to do the job.  And YOU need to check the restorers work closely.  Remember, you're the customer and they're the hired workers.  And if you have to deal with Rocky, be prepared for him to change his attitude at the drop of a hat.

I am amazed at this story about Rakeman's Plumbing in North Las Vegas and I want to thank them for being an honest business that goes the extra mile for loyal customers - a rarity in Las Vegas, in my experience.

My elderly mom and dad have encountered several scams and elder abuse monetary issues in managing their home in Las Vegas since 1995. I have taken a few of these on for them from Los Angeles (the least of which was Home Depot, who eventually made good on the $500 issue) because they are simply not tech savvy enough - although they are intelligent - to maneuver today's complex digital business world when things go wrong - they've been retired for 20+ years. So I was grateful when they used Rakeman's for a couple of bigger plumbing jobs on their house and they seemed satisfied and felt the pricing was fair.

Then recently, they had a toilet issue, so they dropped into Rakeman's to ask if it was something they could help them to fix. To my amazement, one of the Rakeman workers went to my parent's house and fixed the toilet for FREE. This just does not happen in most places.

Please support this extremely decent business - who does good work at a fair price - and values human beings over hourly billings. It meant the world to my folks and to me for them to be treated so well.

In 15 years I think this is the 3rd time we have used Rakeman. Once again our friends at Rakeman Plumbing did a great and quick job for us. GG truck #9 (-:

One of the best parts is there is no BS.  Had a water heater that was still under warrantee and called several  Plumbing companies and everyone had some BS story, my model was obsolete and there was an upgrade charge,  Nooooooo not a problem at Rakeman, one guy told me if it was older that 6 months the building codes required $100's in up grades Nooooooo not a problem at Rakeman.

I always call around and always end up back at Rakeman Plumbing

I had my garbage disposal and faucet start leaking. I was out of town and Rakeman Plumbing  was referred by a coworker.  I had Corkey replace the garbage disposal and today Eric and Junior replaced my faucet. I'm so appreciative to all of them for a FANTASTIC job. Eric and Junior explained everything about the warranty and made sure everything was right before they left.
Anyone needing a plumber, call Rakeman!!!!

Good & bad reviews about plumbers saturate the internet because each of us has our own expectations and I suspect some reviews are fake or paid reviews. My name is Glenn Welt. In 19 years as a Vegas/Henderson resident, homeowner, business owner, consumer advocate, photojournalist and perfectionist, I've experienced good and bad contractors. Thousands of Nevada homes were built using Kitec fittings to connect water lines. I ignored years of notices about the defective fittings, the lawsuit, the settlement and ability to get free replacement fittings because I believed my home did not have Kitec. May 2015, a neighbor mentioned that his home was re-plumbed 2 years ago by Rakeman Plumbing and that I could get a free inspection of my home, so I phoned Rakeman. Rocky Gerber knew exactly where to look for the Kitec fittings because his company has re-plumbed many homes in my neighborhood. He made 3 holes in my walls and showed me the Kitec fittings. BOTTOM LINE: Rakeman Plumbing did such a great job, you can't even tell they were here, despite having made 14 large holes to replace pipes and fittings in 3 rooms of my home. They carefully covered all my furnishings and flooring so nothing was damaged. There were 2 minor hiccups along the way but Rakeman rectified them within 1 hour, which impressed me even more because some plumbers are slow to respond after a job is completed. Rocky Gerber, Kristina Williams, Robert Murph, Sergio's team and the painters put a big smile on my face. Kitec fittings might have failed and flooded my home at any time. The Rakeman team removed all that anxiety. When they repainted my walls I was amazed to see a 100% perfect color match and they left me with extra paint as a free bonus.
It doesn't get any better than this.

Aaron,
I am glad you answer back. As a business owner, I understand how you care for your business. But contracting the people who tries to overcharge and destroy other people property for job security is not acceptable.
You are shortsighted when you say I live in Carlsbad. Yelp fed you wrong information, the great Yelp. I live in Mountain Edge and have a Nevada license. I even have your company' INVOICES, lol. If you really want to take care of your company, you have to monitor them. Greed is your company' s motto. If you really want to take care of your company, you should have asked for my phone number. My business is here on Spring Mountain for 22 years. This shows how much you dont REALLY care about your customer. Profit is your bottom line and hiring dishonest people seems to do the job.
Let me tell you I know 2 guys I can use at your company but they are never available when I need them, Randy and Gene. I don't like Mick and most of your other guys.

Rakeman did a great job replaceing a water heater a year ago. They tried everything to fix my old one before I was convinced to buy a new one. Thankfully it was in the summer so the water was always warm. They had me up and running with a new water heater the next day.
