Hey - what's more fun than a hidden broken pipe and water flooding your finished basement?
Last Thursday we discovered substantial amounts of water in our basement - it came after a really heavy rain, so we thought it was seepage. After three days and no sign of the water stopping, we realized that we had a leak - we just didn't know from where the source of mass destruction was originating.
On Sunday, we called a company called At Your Service Plumbing & Rooter and they sent Luis Perez out. Luis is a contractor for At Your Service but also has his own company - Twins Plumbing (I'm writing the review on Twins since Luis did the work).
At Your Service had a couple of really good reviews on City Search if you want to check them out too:

Anyhoo...the story of the leak and repair are chronicled on these links (my blog) if you want to see pictures:

Luis initially just came out to do an estimate because he had two other jobs to get to (one of which was 45 minutes away). He arrived at our home to do the estimate 90 minutes earlier than scheduled - which was great! - and I was impressed that he came back out to get the job done that night - in the dark and in the rain.
He gave us a quote of $600 and stuck to it. I think if we'd gone just through Luis, it would have been less - but since he's a contractor and there was a third party involved - it makes sense that the price was increased somewhat.
No matter - it was worth every penny.
Luis' business card reads:
Best Prices in Town
24 Hours Service
Water Leaks - Water Heater - Drain Cleaning
Three cheers for Luis!
