We had a serious clogged pipe from our kitchen to our main. Not knowing who to go with, I went with another plumbing company. They came out and snaked it twice with no luck. They then called in their master plumber who immediately diagnosed our need for a completely new line for $6800 without even scoping the line. I signed the agreement and they were going to come the next day. Feeling terrible about this, I look them up and they had 1.5 stars mainly for doing with they did to me (going for the big replacement project). I talked to a friend and he gave me Plant Plumbing contact information. I called and fortunately Planet could come out in a few hours. At this point, I was just hoping for a better priced total line replacement. But Saul from Planet felt it could be unclogged. He used a water pressure approach. He and his apprentice could hear water moving downstream past where the line would have been replaced. Saul said he would never recommend a line replacement without scoping it and proving it needed be replaced. I really feel that we've found an honest and incredibly qualified plumber now! I highly recommend Saul for sure but have also heard good things about Planet as a whole.

We needed to replace our kitchen faucet and waste disposal, cuz they were both 30 years old.
I purchased all the parts.
I called Planet about 9 AM in the morning. Their Tech showed up about 1 PM.
Aaron had the job done in a little over an hour! He tried some (unnecesary) upsells, but overall did a very good job!
These folks are friendly, efficient and cost effective !

My issues were related to the Marshall fire and very confusing but simple. I'm telling everyone to become a plumber.. any plumbing issues are expensive! The plumber who came was direct, honest.. and stayed till 8pm to get the job done. He came within 4 days of my call (there was a weekend in there). Id use this company again.

WOW I feel so lucky to have gotten to work with Mike from Planet Plumbing - he was SO polite, timely, knowledgeable, and truly went above and beyond all 3 times I had him come help with our bathroom remodel. I have never had such a thorough job done. He not only completed the work I requested he also made great suggestions on making sure fixtures we purchased were swapped and corrected to make sure we had the right stuff. I would absolutely recommend working with Mike he is magical when it comes to all things plumbing and just a downright great person to work with!!!

We've used Planet Plumbing 3 times now, twice for a clogged pipe. They are responsive, efficient and reasonably priced (compared to others in the area). We were overcharged for the most recent visit, and after an odd call to them (I still don't know who I was speaking with), a manager was to call me back, but never did. However, after working with Laura, who completely understood the situation and the reason for the mischarge, and immediately issued a check for the overcharge of $275. She was very apologetic and explained the tech that was sent out was very experienced, but new to the company, also that the manager had been away from the office. Things happen, but when a company immediately makes it right, they gain back my business because I know they'll stand behind their work.

Can you give 0 stars I sure wish I could. I wish the worker would have told me his name also so I could include it with the picture of his butt crack hanging out. We Have had a leak from my apparently the furnace going on for several weeks now. The landlord sends this joke of guy to my house who's an asshole know it all from the start. Tells me the pvc pipe is outside the drain on the floor and leaking into the floor. It's very obvious this is not the problem, Does nothing and leaves. Next day, what do you know the pvc has been in the proper place whole time and big puddle is back. The damn landlord sends same idiot who says oh man did the pipe come out place again. Nope because that was never the problem. Takes
A look for 1 Minute or less and says oh it's the furnace want to look at this. But we don't work on that sorry. Instead of taking a look around AT ALL the first time the asshole tells my wife the first thing he sees and doesn't care at all to fix or even let us know what the problem is until he has to come back. No apology no care in the world that he could have very easily seen this the first time had he only looked. Save your time and don't deal with this shitty company that DEFINITELY does NOT care about your home or any damage that may happen to it.

The door to the clogged pipecwas broken apart. It apparently was slammed by the very heavy and large piece of equipment David used. Perhaps too largefor the opening as it's a folding door. They said they would repair or replace as many of the slats have been dislocated and damged. Subsequently they changed their mind, stood me up and wil not stand behind their offer to fix 5he damage done in my house.

The office refuses to provide owner's name and number. No has called back .

Lying, and avoiding. Not a relationship builder. Not honest. Not someone you want in your home.

I have had 3 interactions with planet plumbing, two different plumbers. One, Johnny, was kind, polite, patient and I would highly recommend him. Unfortunately he was not available to complete the jobs when I scheduled them after the initial estimate.

The plumber they sent instead (whose name I can't recall) gave a completely different estimate for one of the projects and seemed unsure or unwilling to do it. He ended up doing one out of two and argued with me when I explained two plumbers had said the line would need to run through the floor. He insisted on cutting into the wall. The hole kept getting bigger and he still couldn't do it. He ended up going through the floor. 3 hours and $445 later, I had a line running to my fridge AND a large whole in my wall I still need to have filled. (Also, a more experienced plumber from a another company did the first project in less than an hour.)

When I called Planet Plumbing a third time because I needed my water heater replaced, I was lucky to get Johnny again.

A quote for work was requested and representative of the company was unprofessional, lacking in construction expertise and unable to communicate effectively in known construction terms. Example used excavation instead of demolition. Inappropriate words were said to the client on site and there wasn't any apology or willingness to admit fault by the representative. Never use this firm again.

Planet plumbing installed a new water heater for us a couple of years ago, and they did a decent job (we thought), although we did have to ask them to return 2x to finish the process (they said they were done, but they were unfamiliar this style & there was more to do). However, when we had them back for a drain clean-out out some time later, we found they had positioned the new water heater in such a way that the clean out could not be accessed at all. While I think this error could have happened to any plumbing company, it was the way they HANDLED it that was egregious. I called to speak with someone at the office to *calmly* explain what had occurred, the guy literally screamed at me for about a minute, as if I was trying to scam them, when they were responsible for the incorrect work (and have records of said work). Not a good customer service management technique.
I was charged full price for the clean-out fix, and the first worker that came over to perform this work refused to wear a mask (or disclose his vaccination status), citing freedom concerns. Of course people can make up their own mind about this, but NOT when they are coming in a CUSTOMER'S home.
My impression is there is a mix of really good, experienced folks here and some less-experienced plumbers too with little training on how to work with customers. There is a BIG problem with whomever sets the standards for employees (the owner) and how calls are managed. Customer service does take time, and has associated costs, but ignore it at your peril.

Just OK. They are very nice guys, but did not do a great job on a new tankless water heater install. When I came to look at the work when they were done, a number of things had to be reworked to be up to a pretty basic standard of workmanship. Air exhaust and intake pipes were installed haphazardly sticking outside the house at off-angles. And the plumbing to the water heater itself was sloppily done, apparently because the required parts to do it correctly were unavailable.

After a couple more hours of supervising the corrections we eventually got things somewhat closer to the quality of work that was promised. I give the guys credit for sticking around and trying to make the situation better by relocating a hose bib to compensate for the issue they created when they cut the intake and exhaust holes without first checking for clearance. I will note, however, that they then tried to charge for the additional work that was necessary to remedy the problem they created in the first place.

At the end of the day, it looks similar to what you would expect from a mid-level DIY install. Functional, but not professionally done.

Many of the issues encountered could have been avoided if they had taken a little time to plan out the install before beginning to cut holes, etc.

Great company! 7 days ago we brought company X to address a gas leak at our home. They came quickly, did no work and provided a guesstimate and a promised call back with firm dollars and the parts to do the job.

Company X never called back. I called Planet Plumbing. From the first point of contact on the phone I was bowled over by PP's service orientation and intelligence. They sent Chris to our home. Chris did the work quickly, cheerfully and without fanfare. We LOVE Planet plumber.

Company X not so much. Plumber claimed we were supposed to call him. Still had no guesstimate and said he could come out in 2 weeks.

As the owner of a third-floor condo, I was worried that my 12-year-old water heater was on the way out and could possibly fail, flooding not only my unit but the two below me. I called Planet Plumbing and got Dan to replace the old water heater with a new Bradford White. While it was pretty expensive, the new heater is quieter, more efficient, and easier to monitor with a small control box and an LED indicator that will flash codes if there are problems. This is very reassuring! Besides that, Dan was both professional and courteous, doing a fine, even elegant job replacing old piping that had been badly installed by Home Depot for my old GE water heater and letting me know exactly how the new unit operated, as well as what he did at every step of the way. It was pretty funny that even the dolly he used to get the old water heater out and the new one in had booties on its wheels! The office at Planet Plumbing was also very helpful and professional. It's a great relief to have a reliable plumber to call and a reliable water heater to depend on. I recommend them, and especially Dan, absolutely if you need a plumber.

I developed a leak in the copper pipe in my basement on Saturday morning... The basement being flooded... Fortunately I shut off the water on the main shut off valve.
I called Planet plumbing who I've worked with in the past they sent out within an hour a fabulous technician by the name of Oliver-
Oliver was awesome and was able to splice in a new copper pipe as well as help clean up the water on the floor.

I would like highly recommend Planet Plumbing!! We had a small leak on the shut off line on one of our toilets. Of course this happened during the weekend. We called Planet Plumbing and they were able to send Wesley out Sunday morning. They charge the same rate on weekends as week days. Wesley gave us an estimate and we agreed to it. He went and got the parts and was done in a timely manner. We live in a manufactured home so he had to crawl under the house to shut off the water. I called a couple other companies and they rudely said they don't work on manufactured homes. I should have started with Planet Plumbing!! If we need any more plumbing done, Planet Plumbing will definately be the ones we call. Thank you so much Wesley and Planet Plumbing!!

I've worked with Planet Plumbing several times and they have always been reliable, communicative, and very trustworthy in their work/pricing.

Most importantly, I would like to highlight the stellar work that Oliver did when our pipes froze and bust last week. My house is over 100 years old and has very strange and hard to access pipes. Oliver spent hours in a terribly cramped crawl space battling the problems with our pipes. As we found new bursts and access issues, Oliver stayed focused and motivated. He came up with creative ways to address these problems and stayed until 9pm to make sure that my house had our water up in running! His work was great and the fee was extremely reasonable for such a hard job.

I am more than satisfied and highly recommend Oliver and Planet Plumbing!

Had toilet leak and $267 later, the toilet was removed and a new riser was put in. Drain was capped. Floor had to be replaced. All this was fine. I was told it would be $25 / quarter hour to put the toilet back on. Called today and they forgot all about it. Had to be another $180 for first hour, starting over again.

Bottom line: I was lied to and they won't own up to it. Will never use them again.

Wow can I just say wow! We had some water backing up in our laundry room and Justin came out took one look move each the sump pump back and fourth and problem was solved. He also showed me what to do if it happened again! He could have charged me what it initially cost but he didn't. Love this guy! Don't hesitate to call and ask for Justin. I have used Planet Plumbing for some large projects in the past but I won't use them again.
They did a job at my house that actually made drainage much worse and the communication & lack of negotiation regarding a solution was far from adequate.
The general manager would not call back or take any responsibility for the issues that were created from the work they did.
The plumbers who came out have been great but the follow up with management and the results were far from stellar.

Poor communications, and my plumber never came!

I scheduled a plumber a week in advance, and was given a 1-3pm window. I waited at home
and called several times during the window to get updates on ETA, and was told he would arrive in the window. Toward the end of the window I got an update call saying they finally reached the plumber (they hadn't reached him before?) and he was running late. When I asked how late, the woman calling dodged the question. Eventually after I asked multiple Times, she said... 3-4 hours.
What?! So I asked if that meant he was coming at 7pm? She again dodged the question and asked if would prefer to reschedule. I had to eventually say Are you basically calling to cancel Are you saying he can't come today? in order to get even a semi-straight answer, which was, at best, along the lines of: Well we can reschedule for next week. No clarity, no transparency, no apology, no respect, no extra effort to get someone here, and I waited around my house for 3 hours and cancelled all my plans on a workday for nothing.

Don't waste your time with this company.

Don't hire this company. As a female, I feel taken advantage of and violated. These guys are total creeps, especially Kyle.
He will text your cell phone inappropriate things and continue to hit on you and try to pick you up even after you tell him NO and that you're not single but in a very happy relationship. He will not stop.
Not to mention he made our plumbing situation WORSE and now are hiring another company to come out and fix our old problem and now our new problem. Which will cost way more money.

Kyle was fabulous! He came over next day for an estimate, was able to commit to the work as soon as we were ready, and completed the work earlier than expected. Kyle was very nice, straight forward and honest about the valve replacement job that needed to be done. When the valve was completed, and the hole refilled, the estimate was right on with the actual amount. He even stayed late the first night to make sure we'd have water that night!

I would recommend Kyle and planet plumbing for any big or small plumbing job in the future, definitely!

Following a recent heavy rainfall, we called Planet Plumbing about a flood in two rooms of our house. (We were referred to Planet by a family member, who has been very happy with them for several years.) Planet sent a plumber (Dan) as soon as possible the following morning. Before Dan arrived, we had thought that the flooding might be coming from outside. Dan carefully and methodically figured out the most likely cause of the problem, and how to determine whether his assessment was correct. He snaked the entire line from our kitchen to the main, and solved the problem completely. Dan was knowledgeable, professional, and helpfully articulate in explaining and resolving our plumbing issue.

Planet has done three jobs for us in the mountains north of Ward.
1. We like that Steve is patient on the phone with lots of questions.
2. The plumbers (Aaron, Dave & Kyle) were knowledgeable and extremely courteous.
3. A recent repair required fine tuning and they made the one hour commute back up here without hassle and of course no charge.
4. Old work is holding up just fine.
We recommend them highly.
PS prior assclown gave them 1 STAR because they wouldn't drive up to a mountain location because of snow. Are you kidding? Give them 5 STARS for being honest with you while not putting their vans and employees at risk!

We were unable to do dishes or laundry and needed Plumber on a Sunday. I called Planet Plumbing because (1) I had used them before and (2) they don't charge extra on the weekend and (3) We were in a pretty desperate situation. Alli was so nice and cheerful on the phone. She had Darren out to us very quickly. Darren is knowledgeable, hard working and thorough. He made suggestions and took a few minutes to educate me about our older pipes. Great job for a fair price. Will have them back again, especially Darren!!

I called planet plumbing with a huge problem. I was diagnosed with covid and need to quarantine in a separate bedroom with a bathroom. The toilet stopped working. They had a technician here within the hour. I checked with an infectious disease expert and she told me to sanitize everything, open all the doors and windows and if he wears gloves and a mask he will be okay. When the tech showed up I explained this all to him. He said he wasn't very comfortable but really wanted to help us out so with his own N95 mask, gloves and whole lot of sanitizer he took care of the problem. I really appreciate it - this is a scary time and he really helped us out! Thank you!

I NO LONGER RECOMMEND PLANET PLUMBING!

I used to recommend them, when others asked me for a reputable plumber, but in the past few years they have raised their prices above that of many other plumbers in the area who charge time+materials+a reasonable markup on the materials of 20% (so about retail prices, if you went out and bought the parts yourself). Their work quality has only slumped too.

Their plumbers now all drive fancy, ad splashed company vans or trucks, and wear company uniforms, but hey, they still need belts and/or suspenders, which they don't wear. What's with that? Who wants to see butt cracks? Certainly not me! It's just rude! They are spending a great deal more on ads too. Obviously, they have moved to the job cost pricing model, which is so lame. The model of job cost pricing is NOT something to be applauded, at least not as a customer. There are a lot of construction and service companies moving to it though, all in the name of making a LOT more profit, all while ripping off the client. No wonder construction and repair costs have gone through the roof.

The last job Planet Plumbing did for me in 2013, supposedly - to fix a toilet that just kept running - didn't last a month. The toilet began to run again at day 36, which of course was after their 30 day warranty was over. We're back to manually shutting it off at the valve underneath the tank. For the price they charged me for this no-fix fix, I decided I wouldn't ever call them again, and I hadn't, until now. Oh, and I'll be replacing the toilet with a higher quality one when I have the entire bathroom remodeled.

I had them out recently to bid a water heater replacement job, along with a few other plumbing companies. Planet gave me a ridiculously high bid of $1250. I already knew the water heater and parts only cost $450-$500 with tax, at Home Depot (it's the same model you see in Planet's photos). So, Planet wanted $800 for the labor, for maybe 2 hours of work!?!? Frick that! No plumber is worth $400 an hour! That's more than my lawyer charges! So, either they didn't want the job, or they just wanted to fleece me, a (previously happy) long-time customer. I won't be calling PP again for any reason.

Hire a good handyman instead. They only charge $40-50 an hour (mine charged $39 at the time and only billed by the 1/4 hour). So, I did exactly that. With my handyman doing the job, + parts, I only paid $542 in total.

After reading some of the more recent reviews, it seems Planet Plumbing's work has really gone downhill. They are ripping off a lot of people, most probably don't even realize it. They seem to be more like Precision Plumbing now, whom I've NEVER hired.

Ah-mazing.

My family and I have gone without being able to use our sewage pipe for almost a week. Toilets unflushable (and all the disgustingness that comes with that), sink overflowing with dirty dishes, no showers, no handwashing, etc. All because of BLUE SKY PLUMBING AND HEATING, who came on Monday, informed us we'd have to replace our entire sewage line, and then gave us the run-around all week long and did not make us a priority at all. They called it a 'non-emergency.'

Enter Planet Plumbing & Drain. I called them late last night, they showed up today even earlier than promised, cleaned out the drain at half the cost of the other company - said they wouldn't have needed to take a video - and said there were no indications that the line needed replacement.

These guys are honest, dependable, professional, and reasonably-priced. Pure excellence.

I would never hire Planet Plumbing again. They installed a tankless system in my home but they lacked the knowledge and experience necessary for the professional installation I paid for. It took numerous return visits and the support of the manufacture to finally get the system running properly. Further, the installer took the easy route in running the pipe and positioned the pipes below the joists. Not only did this look sloppy but it has now make the finishing of my basement extremely problematic. Lastly, they refused to honor their written promise of a free first service on the unit.

I called Planet Plumbing to see if they could come out and clear a sewer line that had backed up into our rental duplex. I was desperate because we had already schedule services from another plumbing company to come out but they did not show up and did not return our phone calls, and it was important to get our sewer line cleared so that our tenants could use the toilet and drains. I spoke with Laura at Planet Plumbing and she quickly accommodated me and had two professional plumbers with their equipment at our rental units within 2 hours. They were able to clear the sewer line and tested the line twice before they left. Their price is very reasonable (half the price of the other plumbing company that never showed up) and their service is excellent! Their office staff and plumbers were friendly, reliable and professional. I highly recommend Planet Plumbing & Drain!

Showed up in 15 minutes on a Saturday to evaluate what I thought was a leaky toilet flange. Dakota immediately identified the new toilet I bought had a manufacturing flaw, slight crack. He noted it so fast he did not charge me . I will not hesitate to call Planet again!!!

I called Rooter town to unclog my drain and they sent a technician who had trouble clearing after five attempts. Rooter town immediately sent a second plumber who spent over an hour to unclog the drain. He was friendly and worked hard. When he finished he told me that there would be no charge as it took so long. I insisted on paying and he refused, saying the management forbid him from charging me. Wow, what incredible customer service!! I will only use Rooter town from this point on.

Second time I have used PP&D; this time to repair a leaky/defective under-vanity valve. The tech ( Oliver ) was on time, courteous, and professional. He insisted in taking off boots and spared the wood floor the slush from the melting snow. Oliver had it fixed/replaced in less than 30 minutes. He also took the time time inspect the valves/fittings in the other vanity sink.

These guys are not cheap ( what plumber is ? ) -- you really get what you pay for -- I'll use them again.

Eric was our guy for our disastrous basement situation with a leaking pipe and clogged sewage. We had a huge puddle in the basement that smelled awful. This other plumbing company we contacted earlier recommended some extra changes to the structure of the pipe that we weren't sure we wanted to make for financial reasons. Thankfully Eric came and said that the extra changes weren't necessary and he can fix the problem right away. He was prompt and efficient in his work and he also helpfully answered my mom's questions, taking his time to look at our kitchen and extra bathroom. If you want a plumber who is courteous, skilled, and resourceful and do not want to break a limb over the price, do contact Eric from Planet plumbing.

We woke up to discover that a water hose connected to our refrigerator had burst during the night flooding our entire kitchen. Ally, who answered the phone when I called Planet Plumbing in a panic, was delightful, helpful, and infinitely understanding. Planet Plumbing got someone to our house on a timely basis and he (David) was fabulous. Not only did David repair the leak, but he also fixed a few other plumbing issues that we had just been living with. He went above and beyond all expectations by sleuthing out the root cause of our problem (water pressure from the street was too high). He even gave me a referral to an excellent restoration company which was just what we needed at that moment. Thanks to David we were able to get people into the house right away to mitigate the damage as well as to arrange to have a pressure reducing valve installed to prevent this from ever happening to us again. Planet Plumbing really came through for us when we needed them.
Oh, and their pricing was quite reasonable. I highly recommend this company.

This is my first yelp review ever, but Planet Plumbing, and Dakota specifically, were fantastic. I cannot overstate how great they are and will be recommending them. Dakota was super competent, skilled and quick, good at communicating and very thoughtful and respectful. I live with a person who is immune compromised which made this a stressful thing to have someone coming in to work in our house and he and Planet Plumbing took it seriously and were very thoughtful about the situation. Plus I am in an old house with a very tricky plumbing situation where I was turned down by multiple other companies, and Dakota had no trouble with it. Thank you Dakota!!

Everything about these guys was great. I had to get two non-urgent repairs done to a bathroom shower and kitchen sink disposal. Steve (owner) handled the initial call and had someone scheduled to be out the next morning.

David showed up within the first 5mins of the 1-hour window they quoted. He did a quick assessment and gave me a free estimate with low and high end amounts depending on if he was able to just fix a part or do a full cut-out and replacement. I had done my research ahead of time and the rates he quoted were absolutely fair (if not cheaper than I expected). He ended up being able to fix the part so we kept the cost down and he knocked out both projects in less than an hour! Great service, I'll be calling them again for future plumbing needs!

I was so nervous finding a plumber in Boulder because of all the mixed reviews. Richard was amazing. This guy climbed behind my water heater, the smallest space you can image to avoid having to remove the doorframe from the wall. I honestly don't know how he did it. I had to take pictures it was so amazing! Super friendly, fixed the pipe and I can now water my plants again. Highly recommended.

There is nothing worse than a leaky pipe in the middle of the night a day before you are flying to the Master's in Augusta Georgia. Yikes! So I called Planet Plumbing at 6:30 am this morning and they were at my house by 9:00. Not only did they do a great job they improved the pipe. Taylor was friendly, efficient and knowledgable.

I would recommend them to anyone. Great from the time I made my call through payment. No one likes to pay those bills but in this case I did it with a smile!

We had a backed up sewer main. Darren from Planet Plumbing was amazing. He arrived when he said he would, was quick to identify a couple of issues, explained everything as he went, and not only fixed the main issue (tree roots), but left the house clean as well. He helped us formulate a plan to get our sewer inspected by camera, and helped us understand our options going down the road, suggesting a prudent path to do what needed to be done, but not necessarily more. Darren was practical, honest, and compassionate, not to mention just friendly! I would not hesitate to call him again!

The plumber arrived within the specified time range in a signed company van. He was presentable and pleasant if not jovial. He reseated a toilet for me where the wax ring had gone bad. The price was fair and remained as agreed before he started the work.

After the serviceman left I did notice some scratches on the edge of the bathtub where he had sat down. Perhaps something sharp on his belt? I called them back and they have agreed to repair it. Mistakes happen and I won't hold out against them if they make it right.

Called Planet Plumbing at 9:30am on a Friday to see if I could get a rental unit's water heater looked at quickly. They were there within moments and offered to either repair or replace. They do not charge for weekend calls (the first plumber I called was going to charge a weekend service charge on top of any plumbing services), they give a free estimate, and did really great work.
Everything that was done was explained to me and I feel like I was given a fair price on the labor and materials necessary for the job.

I will never use planet plumbing again. The plumber that came to my home thought it was appropriate to use my phone number to send me personal texts the next day as a way to hit on me?! As a single woman I felt violated and extremely unsafe having had this man in my home. When I called his supervisor to lodge a complaint I was told he didn't mean anything by it. Never again!! Totally unprofessional and totally disgusting. Think twice before allowing them into your home and giving them your personal info.

Love these guys. They are easy to get an appointment with, show up on time (or early, with a phonecall!), work quickly, and are extremely friendly and helpful. We used them once when we had some mysterious water pooling in our basement - they figured out where the leak was coming from (crack in our main drainage pipe, yuck) and precisely located where the wall would need to be cut open. They did a great job minimizing how much wall had to be cut, swapped out the cracked pipe for a new one, and contained the mess too. Have not had an issue with it since.
Called them again when we found the pipes under our sink completely corroded through (isn't it fun owning an old house) and they were able to see us on the weekend to get everything back in working order. No small job considering half the pipes were basically paper-thin from rust and age, and a lot of of the hardware had to be sawed off/replaced since the old pipe could not be completely unscrewed.
Hopefully I won't need a plumber anytime soon, but if I do I'll be calling Planet Plumbing!

Under treatment for cancer in scary times, so safety was as much my issue as the clogged drain. I had kitchen sink drain back up. Ran the drain with my own snake but it didn't work. Called Planet for help. Gave me a general reasonable quote over the phone. Technician (Mike) was here less than 3 hours later. Told him I had run the trap, so he immediately pulled the trap and ran the rest of the line with his machine. Hit the clog about 8 ft in and all is good, total visit took just under an hour. Estimate matched the price. Mike was extremely careful the entire time. Wore a full mask, boots and gloves, 'boots' on his machine wheels so nothing touched the floor, and was careful not to touch any unnecessary surfaces. He wiped down the cabinet and pipes before he left. He was very professional, careful, safe and friendly. I felt very comfortable with his visit and obviously very happy with the results. I would highly recommend PP&D and will use them again if needed.

These guys were great. They arrived about 45 minutes past the time they estimated, but they took care of our problem (clogged mainline causing our kitchen sink to back up) in about half an hour. They were really friendly and knew what they were doing, and I can't say that about every plumber we've used! While they do charge a little more than the $99 or so that a lot of plumbers advertise, my experience with those ones is that they milk their time and find more problems that ultimately wind up costing you more money. These guys were worth what we paid, and we will definitely be using them again when we need help.

I called Planet Plumbing because of the other reviews I found on Google's business search. PP is also reviewed here. A giant thank you to those of you who took the time to share your experience.

To Planet Plumbing, Steve and Mike, thank you for your honestly and for the work that you did rescuing our sewer line! Honest, fast, effective.

So, what happened?

It was time for our sewer main to be cleaned out. We do it annually, and decided to try Roto Rooter (for the first time because our regular plumber was booked). Four hours after RR arrived their sewer snake was stuck in our tap, 100ft out. Our sewer line was out of commission and because it was stuck this was a potential disaster. RR told me that the issue was with our sewer line and the only way to unblock it was to dig it up all the way to the street.

We have the line cleaned out and videoed on a yearly basis. The previous owner did the same for decades. We knew that our sewer would need to be replaced eventually, they all do, but we'd been told by several plumbers that we had many years of use left if the line was maintained properly.

RR would not back off their claim that that our line was damaged and there was nothing they could do to get their cable out. Nothing but dig out our sewer line all the way to the city tap, which is in the middle of the street.

Get someone else out here, I requested. Put another snake down, I said. RR insisted that nothing could be done but dig. RR's estimate to restore our sewer: $8,600 for spot digging, nearly $14,000 to replace the entire line. We were livid.

After talking with several other plumbing firms about our failed sewer, all provided estimates in the $10,000 range. We found a firm we liked, and NEARLY gave the go-ahead. But I decided to make one more call.

Having moved down the list alphabetically, next up was Planet Plumbing. I asked Steve for two estimates, one for replacing our tap and one for the entire sewer line.

Instead of providing an estimate, Steve asked for more information. I told him what happened. Steve said he had recovered broken and cut sewer snakes routinely. That he was nearly certain that he could get it out in this case! He added that, likely, there was nothing was significantly wrong with our line once cleared of RR's cut cable. The cost: $185.

My wife and I had nothing to lose: we were facing a $10,000 expense if we wanted to flush the toilet. Yes, let's try it!

Steve sent Mike to our house as soon as he had an opening in his schedule. Within 30m he had his snake entirely through our line, through the tap and into the city's sewer line. It took another 30m to retrieve Roto Rooter's cable, 30m more to fully rooter our line.

Planet Plumbing saved my family from a $10,000 repair (to say nothing about the landscaping in front of our house).

We can not recommend Planet Plumbing strongly enough: out of all the firms I rang, Steve was the only plumber who insisted that we had an option other than digging.

I've been in my home for 3+ years and have been fortunate to not have any plumbing mishaps until just now.

My neighbor, who has recurring issues with her plumbing, recommended Planet Plumbing. I gave them a call, as well as a couple of other companies.

Right off the bat a 5-star Yelp business quoted me $300 to walk in my door b/c they were sure I needed a high-powered flush in kitchen plumbing.

Planet Plumbing quoted less than 1/2 of that to snake the drain.
I called Steve at 1:30 and they were able to get someone out to me between 5-7.
Chris showed up, reminded me of the prices and set to work. Within minutes I was using my washer and the kitchen drain was flowing.
Chris also advised how I need to care for my kitchen system in order to avoid recurring issues.
And I really did pay what they quoted.

No BS, no fancy techniques - just good work.

Called planet plumbing to replace a water heater. They did a good job with the work and the install price was reasonable at $400 including some code updates.

When I first called at 7am on a Friday the person answering said we would need a permit, code updates and it would cost $1800!! He also said they had access to higher quality water heaters. When they showed up they didn't have the better water heater and we had to go buy one at Home Depot. Once they took a look the estimate was a much more reasonable $400 excluding the water heater.

The guys doing the install were good plumbers and they did answer some follow up questions. Would recommend but they could improve some customer communication.

We had a great experience with Big Mike at Planet Plumbing. I called the day before Thanksgiving after our bathtub leaked through our downstairs ceiling. As we had stopped the leak by draining the tub, it wasn't really an emergency. Mike was able to come out on Friday morning to have a look. We had several other small/medium plumbing jobs that we had been sitting on for about a year, so while he was there, I showed him everything that needed to be done. He was patient and thorough, and scheduled a time early the next week to come by.

Mike spent at least 9 hours working the first day (the downstairs bathroom was a bit of a nightmare whose existing plumbing seemed to have been installed by creative monkeys), and then came back and spent roughly 6 six hours the next day to finish the jobs. He basically fixed and improved the majority of the plumbing in the house. The new plumbing looks very sturdy and expertly installed. Thank you so much to Mike for all your hard work, and for enduring my daughter's endless questions about the plumber.

And to make things even better, the cost was far below what I was expecting. I highly recommend Planet Plumbing, and especially Big Mike!

Planet Plumbing to the rescue. We had a major leak that went from our bathroom directly to our kitchen making both unusable. Sean at Planet Plumbing was able to not only fix our original issue, but identified and fixed 4 other leaks that would have caused us major issues in the next couple of WEEKS (not identified by the other company that we had evaluate the issue). Sean is the definition of a MASTER PLUMBER and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking plumbing work. He made a difficult situation totally tolerable, and he was fun to work with. I saw that there are some reviews that say that it is over priced, but we evaluated multiple companies for the same work and we SAVED over $1,300 by going with Planet Plumbing. We will be using them again for all of our plumbing needs!

Dave came out on time. Past plumbers treated our basement blockage by snaking a floor drain with a small diameter snake. Dave instead removed our basement toilet and snaked the main all the way to the street with a large diameter snake. Dave said that requires extra effort, a bigger and heavier snake machine to carry to the basement, removing the toilet, but is the right way to fix the problem. His fee was about the same as the two previous ineffective repairs. Dave said he does not want to come back; prefers to fix it right the first time.
We're very satisfied with Dave, and grateful!

Not good at all! I will say they did arrive quickly, but it went downhill from there. They were sweating a pipe and set off the fire alarm, which flooded my entire first floor. I was very nice and patient, but they were not helpful at all when it came to getting reimbursed or dealing with their insurance company. I had to pay for and arrange the repairs up front ($6000 worth of damages) and it took over 3 months to get my money back. It didn't seem like they really cared that they ruined my entire first floor. I had to deal with their insurance company and take care of all the paperwork. I would not recommend them to anyone.

I've used this company for many years in my home and rental properties. The plumbers are excellent and friendly. Unfortunately Steve, the owner, has handed over the calls to new people who are neither well-trained nor polite. The receptionist wrote down my phone number incorrectly (202- which does not exist in Boulder!) so I was not notified of his visit. The tenants let him in. As a result, he did not do the work I had explicitly requested when I made the appointment. When I called back to complain, the receptionist told me I wasted the plumber's time and said they had called multiple times to let me know they were on their way. He argued on and on and angrily interrupted me, insisting it was my fault. STEVE, the original owner, NEVER made these kinds of mistakes and was always precise and polite. Their people on the phone need more training! I called the general manager in Longmont and complained again. He was carrying on another conversation in the background as I was speaking to him. Lousy customer relations/service.

Steve called me later to apologize! This is a good business and I will continue to work with them. He was training some new people and there was a glitch in our communication.

I had an appointment today for a shower drain to be moved as well as getting a bid to complete the rest of the master bathroom remodel. I had discussed the project over the phone in detail with the owner, so the scope of the project was not a surprise. Sean, the plumber showed up and spent some time with me and the clients. He was scheduled to come back that day to move the drain. Less than 30 minutes later they called back to say they couldn't do the work. Some guys quit and they couldn't work us into their schedule. Very disappointed and made me look like an idiot in front of my clients.

I have used them for a variety of plumbing needs and they have always been quick and professional. Recently, I had a problem with my water heater. My wife and I started this summer with extensive work done to our home.
13 separate companies. flooring, painters, electricians, plumbers, carpet, cabinet installers.
carpenters, appliance install people, etc, etc.
What ever your plumbing job is, avoid this company at all cost !
When Planet installed our new garbage disposal, it was installed wrong and was leaking.
This was discovered by our electrician after they had left. Eric did the work. He installed our new Bosch 800.00 gas range and scratched the surface so bad, it had to be replaced. luckily Specialty Appliance who is A++ replaced it at no cost. Eric installed a new water line from our sink to our refrigerator. approx. 12 feet. Instead of using the existing copper line he put three stainless steel lines together under our new cabinets. According to two separate appliance service people
copper is much better and won't leak. we had the existing copper line for 26 yrs. now with three separate pieces screwed together a leak is a real possibility, that we will never see until the damage is done to our new hard wood floors. We were charged an arm and a leg for this useless work.
Our appliance service tech came back to put in the new replacement gas range and told my wife and I that the gas shut off valve was not up to code. Installed once again by Eric and was seen by the senior Plumber Roy. neither one said a word to us, until my wife called the office to tell them this was a major safety issue. Roy came back again to install the safety valve that meets Boulder code. Planet only gives a 30 day warranty.
This company charged us a small fortune for really shoddy and unsafe work.
I would strongly recommend finding another company for your plumbing needs.

We were referred to these people by a real estate broker who has had many opportunities to call plumbers. We have now used Planet Plumbing four times and every time they were amazingly quick and the price always seems very fair - - much better than some Boulder companies I won't name. Last time, when they came to fix a leaky faucet, the faucet was not repairable and so they didn't charge for the visit. That seems very fair. I am a little surprised to read about a couple of bad experiences people have had, but anyone who has done home plumbing repair themselves knows that it's very tricky business. We unreservedly recommend Planet Plumbing.

I called Planet Plumbing on a Sunday night when I discovered the main sewage line my newly purchased home was backing up. They were able to send Mike out Monday morning. He arrived right on time. He did seem a bit puzzled not finding any suspected tree roots. The price was fair, and he suggested I call back if the issue returned. It did exactly one month later. With a phone call he came out same day, arrived right on time and re snaked my main sewer line. They did not charge me for the second visit, and should the problem reoccur, will bring a camera out to run thru and see just what is causing the back up. Mike is professional, punctual, knowledgeable and I would recommend his services to other!

Couldn't be happier with the work Planet Plumbing did for me. The company was contracted to install all new plumbing related to a bathroom remodel. The technician (Aaron) was very courteous and professional and got the job done in record time at a cost much less than their competition. Even did some extra plumbing work not in the contract and didn't charge me an arm and leg for it.

Awesome job Aaron. You will be hearing from us again on all of our future plumbing needs.

Big Problem & disappointment on tub replacement. They came out to give estimate 3 weeks ago. We waited for the appointment, took out vanity & toilet to get ready and bought the repacement tub. Same guy showed up on the appointed day and said they could not do the job because we were supposed to temove old tub & flooring, which they never told us. The old tub was an insert type, not old fashioned ceramic. Treated us really jerky also. They may be able to do smaller repairs but DO NOT count on them for a major project.

Very knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. Planet Plumbing is fair, reasonable and professional. Dan and DJ were awesome. We had a main line backup and had an expert plumber take a look before finding Planet Plumbing. That expert wanted to charge us $450 just to clear the problem drain - not even the main line. He couldn't find the location of the main drain entrance, and could not provide us with the information that Dan and DJ from Planet Plumbing could. Planet Plumbing came in and figured everything out real quick, and they got the job done fast. We cleared the main line and the problem drain for half the cost of the expert plumber. Did I mention, Dan and DJ from Planet Plumbing were friendly, courteous, respectful and great to work with!

Great prices, better service. Had a Saturday night emergency and their prices were comparable to normal weekday prices (no plumber is cheap but they didn't take advantage of my precarious Saturday night sewage back up situation and gouge me). On top of that, the service call (Mike - he was great) was quick, polite, he was clean and kept the area clean and came up with fast solutions. Ask for Mike!

Had a leak in an outside spigot that was leaking in to my office. Pipe broke at some point during winter. Didn't want a water feature in my office so I called a few others the day before and no one could be here till next week. Called Planet this morning and they were here in 30 mins. Nice guys, very polite and respectful. Price quoted was what I expected and was what I was charged. Work was done in an hour and they left the area as they found it. They will be our plumbers from now on!

After getting scammed by Rooter Town earlier in the year on sewer line maintenance, I called Planet Plumbing thinking I would need to camera the sewer line and replace the whole thing because it was backed up (for real this time). The guy on the phone was confident that they could snake it. An hour and $185 later, the sewer line blockage was fixed whereas Rooter Town insisted on putting a camera into the line for $500, for no apparent reason beside ripping me off. I haven't been happier about a flushing toilet since a trip to a remote island in Thailand!

Sorry Planet Plumbing you are not 5 star in my book.
Three old lessons relearned: don't be desperate, ask good questions, and get multiple bids.....My water heater cracked on Friday and I had guests coming for the weekend. So I am sure I was a bit desperate when found all the glowing reviews for Planet.

I called 3 plumbers and they were the first to respond. My plumber was prompt and professional and let me know that he would get the problem fixed. He gave me some basic costs and a estimate of $1550 which he led me to believe was the going rate.... When he was done I was expecting an itemized invoice but it just said cost and materials $1550. So I looked up the water heater they installed, it's about $350 bux at Home Depot, (and does not get good reviews). This, plus the pan and the permit he said I needed for $150 left me with about 900 dollars in project cost. Do Plumbers make 300 per hour?

Since there was a small leak in one of the pipes I called them back for a fix and asked that they bring an itemized receipt and was told would bring one. Unfortunately, when they came I got the we only charge by the project, flat rate?? When the nice guy who installed it came back, I asked him again and was told it was a project price 750 materials, 800 labor, and everyones favorite. I don't set the price.

Knowing it was a Sunday I expected some up charge but over 250 an hour and a heafty upcharge on parts leads me to this review. Mad at myself for not asking more questions but i hope this leads others to do so.

If I could give them a million stars I would!!! Last night my bathtub was backing up, so I tried unclogging it myself, not happening. I've used Planet Plumbing a long time ago but forgot their name. I started calling around this one outfit had time. The guy comes out looks around, says, have to dig up the yard I was crying so hard. I'm a single mom, I don't have that kind of money. I asked him if he could please try rooting it out? He said, no, it'll blow your pipes? And if I remove your toilet it will flood your home. I felt bullied. He said he had to finish another job and come back later. He also told me I had to shovel the snow out of my yard so they could dig. Called my Dad, he remembered Planet Plumming. I called them. The gentleman I talked to said that did not sound right at all. Called the other guy, and cancelled. DJ from Planet Plumbing came out. Was super easy, simple clog. The other guy wanted thousands!!!! To dig up my yard. Thank you DJ for being so nice and doing an amazing job. I would never ever recommend anyone else.

They were 2 hours late. So I made various calls to find out when my job would be complete. He started charging me as soon as I caught him sitting in his truck smoking a cigarette without knocking on the door. He was extremely unprofessional, judged me right & left & called me names. He then apologised & started work for me. He changed his mind & happily said he wouldn't be charging me, but left the work all in different places without undoing the tightly bolted parts. What a nightmare! The customers or over a barrel because workers are all booked up for weeks.

My greenhouse had a major water pipe break and we were in quite a pinch, cold weather, houses full of plants and NO water to supply my boiler for heat. My usual plumbers were unavailable. I contacted Planet Plumbing, they came to the rescue. Roy, was great to work with, handled the situation and got us repaired. I had had a floor drain backup and randomly selected ARS plumbing from the web. The guy charged me $563 to fix it, and said that the price came with a free camera inspection of my drain system. Another guy came out to do the camera work, and he told me that one of the lines was not flowing properly and needed to be replaced. I said that the guest bathroom tub that led to that drain was notoriously slow, and he said that was the reason. He gave an estimate of $5,300 for that work, but he said he would knock off the full $563 I had paid previously. I wanted a second opinion, and I called Planet Plumbing and Drain. When I explained what had happened previously, he was immediately sceptical and asked to look at the slow draining tub. He played with it for a few minutes and said the problem was an improperly adjusted drain control. He fixed it at no charge, and the tub ran fine. He then said there was no reason to do the floor work at all, let alone for the ridiculous price ARS was going to charge. He also said that if we had called them for the original backup, we would have only had to pay their standard $160 fee, not the outrageous $563 ARS had charged me. So at this point, I had had a plumber in my house for a while for nothing but the price of a free estimate that was not going to any money for them. As long as he was there, I had him take care of a couple of other minor issues, for which I happily paid the standard hourly rate. As he was leaving, my wife mentioned a leaky outside faucet, and he fixed it at no charge. I will definitely call them again when my next plumbing problme arises.

Used Planet for the 1st time today. Not an emergency, but they responded with same day service, quick estimate and performed the work. I do most of my own plumbing work, but this was somewhat advanced, cutting a 4 cast iron pipe and splicing in a repair. $200. My wife paid Mesa $206 five yrs ago to install a 1/2 Sharkbite tee when I was in the hospital. I wouldn't call them or Precision, ever.

November 2015 - We were in process of selling our home when a realtor decided she knew more about sewer scope results than a professional in the business. She wrote in a contingency of $6,500 requiring we dig up and replace our sewer pipe based on the inspecting plumber's video. Having lived in the home for nearly 10 years and never an issue at all, we needed a second opinion. Planet Plumbing sent Mike B., their service professional out the very next day (due to our closing date approaching) to do a second video and make an assessment. Mike was sooo knowledgable and professional. He was so awesome, it's hard to describe. After determining the line was in excellent condition - no defects, with a great narrative explaining everything, the realtor and buyer still weren't convinced. The owner of Planet Plumbing, Steve Gentry had taken my call initially, so I called him again and he offered to talk to the realtor and/or buyer (I believe the buyer's ultimately called him) as well as he put in an email the condition and a very convincing explanation as to how the service was working properly, which it was. I suspect we were dealing with a realtor who has done this in the past as a way of getting cash from sellers at closing for her buyers, knowing this is something most people know very little about. In the end, we luckily had some awesome, high integrity buyers who took it upon themselves to conclude all was fine and no contingency was necessary. Thank you to Steve and Mike B. for your care, concern, running an amazing business which all small business should strive to mimic. You guys are the real deal, and your ethics and integrity are admirable. We can never repay you, but hope you understand how much you were both highly appreciated.

Planet Plumbers were courteous, arrived right on time, didn't charge for the estimate, correctly assessed the problem with the water heater, and fixed it on the spot. They saved us between $700-$8000, compared to the other bids we got for repair/replacement. Plus, we had hot water immediately, rather than waiting for up to a week as the other plumbers said we'd have to do. Thank you, Planet Plumbing!!

Planet Plumbing & Drain delivered a top-notch performance. I called in to fix my leaky kitchen sink at 11 a.m. and the plumber showed up on my doorstop 3 hours later. I do not recommend using Planet Plumbing. They came to our mobile home park to make minor repairs and the workmanship was acceptable but they charged exorbitant prices. For example $250 to replace a hose bib (faucet) !! It is better not to gouge on simple repairs.

Had a pipe burst behind one of our walls late at night. Turned off the water and called Planet Plumbing the next morning. We didn't have an emergency but certainly wanted to get water back on asap. Roy was at the house within 90 min & took care of the problem quickly. I felt their price was very fair & really appreciated the quickness - both show-time and of the work itself. Definitely recommend to others in the Boulder area who need plumbing service.

I called about 10 a.m., they scheduled me for a window of 1-3 p.m. Mike showed up prepared to do the job and NOT charge me an arm and a leg. Friendly, informative, did a great job and didn't leave a mess. Made a bad day a whole lot better. I will use them again, but then again, I hope I don't ever need a plumber again! Very pleased with their customer service AND their prices, and they weren't too shy to give me a brief estimate over the phone, and also explained the estimate in more detail when they arrived. THAT is the way to do it!

Sean was out here within 30 minutes of my call. We needed to re-route the kitchen sink drainpipes in the basement as they were installed wrong - one 8 foot horizontal had NO slope, so it periodically backs up. Sean got the job done for a very reasonable price, plus friendly and we're happy. I would recommend Planet Plumbling as the #1 choice to anyone.

We had a strange problem (flushed the toilet and soon after, sewage bubbled up in the bathtub). Planet Plumbing came out the next morning. The miraculous thing is that the plumber thought it was a fluke and recommended that we not do anything, and he didn't charge us. Wow. I was stunned. He explained what he thought had happened very clearly and thoroughly, and he discussed the history of the house's plumbing with my husband and me. Planet Plumbing came highly recommended from a friend... we will call them again the next time there's a real problem. Scheduling was a snap.

Planet Plumbing just left. I have to say, they were awesome. My water heater broke down right before Christmas and they came out to help. They were able to get it going again which lasted a week before it died for good, right as I was getting ready to go out for New Year's. They came out within the hour on NYE to see what they could do. They ordered me a new water heater as soon as they could after the holiday (this morning, 9:00AM and it was just installed 5:30PM). They helped me out during the worst possible time (mid winter/holiday season). Sean was awesome, extremely knowledgeable, friendly, helpful. He worked every option for me to get me hot water. This is the best service I've had for anything in a long time. I am very happy and appreciative.

I'm delighted with our experience with Planet Plumbing. Our kitchen sink was overflowing (water spilling across the floor), and I called Planet Plumbing after looking at Yelp reviews. They came out to help us right away (within about two hours), they called to give us a 1/2 hour heads-up, and they unclogged the drain. On top of this, our repairman was such a nice guy - very pleasant, personable, and knowledgeable. And further, the bill was very reasonable. I couldn't be happier with this experience.
