John is great! I had an issue in a rental property that needed to be attended to right away and he fit me into his schedule ASAP. The best thing about this company is that they are HONEST and do good work. This is a tough thing to find these days. I highly recommend this company to do your draining and plumbing. I've used them before and I'll use them again and again.

These guys are great, they've helped me with drain cleaning and replacing a broken pipe. They are very knowledgeable, honest and friendly and the rates are affordable. Whether it's an emergency or basic maintenance this is the company that will take care of you.

John was responsive, able to get us in quick. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Happy with his service and will definitely be using him for any other plumbing needs we have.

John came out on the same day I called about a clogged kitchen sink. He was quick, reliable, friendly and charged what he quoted over the phone. My drain is clear, and he even cleaned out my garbage disposal! Highly recommended!

I called John right before a busy holiday weekend because I lost my heat. He offered some tips over the phone, and when I still couldn't get it started, he sent someone over within just a couple hours and had it fixed that day. Professional, reasonably priced and honest. This was my first experience with hiring a plumber. I spent a bit of time reading through reviews and made a few requests for quotes and finally chose Metropolitan Drain Cleaning. The price John quoted seemed fair and he sounded like a straight shooter on the phone. All I needed was the hot water supply valve and hose to the faucet under my kitchen replaced. Seemed easy enough.

He arrived for our appointment early which was cool but everything started going south after that. We were unable to locate the water shut off to the house and even though I suggested we wait and reschedule, he went ahead and kept messing with things. Within moments the hot water heater supply started spraying water to which the MASTER PLUMBER started freaking out yelling OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! OH SHIT! OH MY GOD! ... and this pretty much paints the picture of how the next two hours went. We won't even get into the repeated mansplaining and trash-talking..

A hysterical master plumber screaming and yelling all over my house, my cat out somewhere in the neighborhood, I am in a full-on anxiety attack in tears, he charged me full price (at almost twice the original quote over the phone) AND left dirt all over my counter and floors.

*and the supply under my kitchen STILL LEAKS*

It took him almost a week to cash the check..and I thought maybe he realized what a HORRIBLE experience it was and was just going to not cash it.  I wasn't going to write a review, and just forget this man violated my trust and my home and charged me for it,  but since this morning the check cleared.. here we are. :(

Update: 11/16 - now the hot water supply is leaking as well..and he tried to bribe me to change the review

This is the second time we've had John and Metro Drain Cleaning out to our home (completely separate issues). We had a leaky old faucet needing to either be cleaned (calcification) or be replaced, and John was able to swing by same day to take a look, offer a solution and finish the job. I greatly appreciated his flexibility and responsiveness via phone/text. He is reasonably priced, a friendly face, and actually tries to save you some money if you're willing to heed his advice/tutelage. Wouldn't hesitate to utilize his services again in the future.

I highly recommend this company! I had a clogged shower drain and had to get to work.  Called them on a Friday at 10am, they arrived at 11! John is so professional and personable, I would give him 5 stars on that alone. But, it didn't take the entire billable hour to complete, so he did some work on a toilet to make sure I got my hour's worth! Who does that these days?

No more Liquid Plumber for me!
My bathtub drain was regurgitating nasty particles. After several months I decided enough was enough and I found John on Yelp.  This was a maintenance issue yet John came over the same day I called him and not only took care of my problem he educated me on a variety of how- to's during my  remodeling process.  The very best part is that I now have a lifetime plumber  that is honest, reasonable, does great work and reliable.  I can't ask for more.

Even though *I* wasn't the greatest customer (my phone texting was filled up so they couldn't text when they were on their way, and I didn't pick up when they tried to call, lol), Metropolitan Drain Cleaning was very prompt to send Tim out today to fix my leaky toilet.  I called this morning, and the job was done about 3 hours later!  Did the job very well and I am happy!!

I had a drain clog and called on the Saturday of a three day weekend.  John, the owner, was going out of town but agreed to fix it on Tuesday.  He was able to understand exactly what was going on over the phone and gave me some directions on how I could try to fix it myself.  I was not able to fix the problem, so John and his assistant came on the Tuesday and quickly fixed the problem. They also made sure a nearby floor drain was also clear and gave me instructions on how to prevent this happening in the future.  I am very pleased with his services and would recommend his company strongly.  He is not the cheapest option but I think it was well worth using his company.

John cleaned out two drains in our 1925 bungalow.  Was very efficient yet meticulous in his work (which I liked) and did an overall great job.  Will definitely hire again.

I texted John at 10 pm with an issue with my sewer drain being clogged (roots getting into the pipes). John managed to come early in the next morning. That was a blesssing since we could not use any water in the house, flush or take a shower...
He did an amazing job (as usual). The clog is gone. Our pipes are clean.
It was fast and efficient. It is always a huge relief when you find a great professional who can come to your house quickly, do a fantastic job and for a decent price. I cannot recommend John and his company more.

Dan came out to my house for some post-inspection repairs on water heater and toilets.  Did a great job!  John (the owner) took my call at lunchtime and within 2 hours had me on the schedule for the afternoon.  Really happy with Metropolitain, thanks Guys!

John is amazing! I can honestly say that he blew me away when I least expected it. I was given his name as a referral from a coworker because of the great work he did and how knowledgeable he is at his trade. Not only did he save me a ton of money, he was kind enough to guide me through the steps to fix something that was actually quite simple...and all over the phone. Most companies would have taken every opportunity to charge the maximum amount, but not John. He was very upfront about what the charges would have been but since I seemed to have a little bit of brains, he had no problem encouraging me to fix it myself. He most definitely has to be one of the most honest people I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I can hands-down say that I would recommend him to anyone with a plumbing need...especially if you live near the south Aurora area.

The owner did work for us on a drain and the job was excellent.

The second time we called to have toilets fixed and a shower nozzle replaced, he sent his employee who installed the wrong parts for everything.  Each thing he supposedly fixed broke within a week to several months after.   He even installed the wrong toilet handle after asking us how we wanted it to face. The shower nozzle was not properly affixed and came off in our hands the second time we used the shower.

My husband called to talk with the owner in a calm voice to explain the problems and John, the owner, was quite nasty.

HIGHLY unreliable and HIGHLY unprofessional. Just stay away! The price they charging for that kind and quality of service is a ripoff!

I called John because I had a clogged main line due to tree roots. If you've had this particular issue, you know that its something you want resolved right away!! John was able to be at my house within two hours, and the drain was cleaned within the next 90 minutes. We're very happy with the level of service received, and the price.

John stayed in close touch as his prior job took longer than expected. He gave play by play summary of current status as he and Jerome were doing the drain clean out in our 83 year old house, and explained what we were seeing when he scoped the pipe after cleaning. Clearly an expert in his service. Worth every dollar. We will hire him again for regular preventive maintenance. First class.

Terrible customer service. They left me without running water because they forgot to turn it back on. They overcharged me for materials and inspection prep and left my toilets stained. Would not recommend.

Very professional and great mannerisms.   Showed up on time and was able to fix my water issue by sound identification and process of elimination.   AND - a sense of humor to boot!   Would feel very confident referring friends and family.

Truly awesome.  When my water main sprung a leak, I called several plumbers, some of whom I had used before, and John was not only the best price but the only one who spent the time on the phone to explain the job and break down the price for me.  It was a no-brainer to hire them.  John, Joey, and Dan showed up quickly and on time.  They worked tirelessly all day and into the evening, through the pouring rain, to dig a massive trench in my front yard (which was all hardened clay) and replace the ancient lead pipe with rolled copper.  They took care to replace the dirt properly so it was settled and close to level by the end.  I can't thank them enough.  They were polite, respectful, congenial, and extremely trustworthy.  It's such a relief to have a go-to plumber now.  Epic win.

I rely on John to inspect the operation of my sump pump. He's professional, yet friendly and has the tools necessary to drop down into my crawl space (an activity with which I require assistance!) It's quite a drop and so it's very helpful to hire someone who does not fear the crawlspace... I rely on John to make sure my sump is working properly, and I appreciate his help!

After replacing a pressure valve in my water heater, the water inlet hose started leaking out of the fitting. Unfortunately whoever installed the water heater initially had soldered one end of this hose and I was not comfortable trying to fix that. Contacted John and sent some pictures to give him an idea what the issue was. John came out and handled it in no time. Would definitely recommend and will keep his number for my plumbing needs

They did a great job - very responsive and reasonable pricing. They fixed my garbage disposal and dishwasher. The only complaint I had was that I was away for the morning, and I had requested a time window for when I needed to be home. Their response was, We don't do that. I get why that's the case because you don't want an expectation that you may not be able to meet, but a time window is a reasonable expectation (rather than a specific time).

I texted John with a drainage issue and he responded immediately. John was incredibly responsive, very enthusiastic, and great to work with. Overall, I will use John again for every single plumbing issue in the future!

Thanks to MDC/John for saving my butt under difficult circumstances. We had a flooding incident in our crawlspace and John came out almost immediately, diagnosed the problem, repaired it, and got our water going again. I'm really grateful! Thanks John!

John is my savior. Late on the Friday afternoon, my in-laws were driving from out of state to come stay with us. About an hour before they were set to arrive, we noticed a horrific sewage smell coming from the guest bathroom attached to the room they were supposed to be staying in. I called John and he quickly came over and saved the day. Our problem was not clear and simple. He diagnosed the problem, explained it to me, fixed it, and did so at a very fair price. John will forever be my go-to plumber.

John was excellent. I have never used a plumber before but we have a drain back up and water was coming out. I called john even though it was 8 pm and explained the issue. He throughly explained what he thought the issue was and assured us it's not a big deal. He promptly came the next morning and solved it in no time.

He was kind, courteous, fair and professional. 100% would recommend.  Honestly thought he could've charged us more.

They were unable to clear a super simple clogged toilet. They went a head and charged me $200 and told me We don't guarantee results but we do guarantee we will bill you

I called Metropolitan Drain Cleaning looking for some help to clear a clogged drain on a Saturday afternoon and while John couldn't come out that day, he talked me through what he'd likely need to do after I texted him a few pictures. He was able to get out to help me the following working day, got the drain cleared quickly, and explained a little bit about the mechanics of what was going on. I'll be calling them for any future plumbing needs!

Called Metropolitan to come out to clean out our sewer line.  John was easy to schedule with, on time, and honest.  We had a great experience with John/Metropolitan and will definitely use their services again.  Highly recommend.

Fast forward 1 year since last clean out and once again John has delivered. I called at 10:30ish am and John was here by 1:00 pm , fitted us in. Main line blockage , he brought the machine in and ran it to the street a couple of times and all clear. We do think blockage had to do with them flushable wipes. Wipes don't breakdown. I forgot to write a review back in March/April for I believe was a 1 way valve thing for the sprinkler system. John has always treated us fairly , he will always have our business. Thanks again. I forgot to post this review back a year ago or so , I'll just add to it. As always John came to the rescue. I called on a Friday and told John our problem, he talk to my husband and John tried talking my husband through an unplug, but it wasn't working. We told John we could get by until Monday. John  squeezed us in for a main line clean out. As always is always a lot of help and he will always have our business for any plumbing needs. Thanks again

John gave me a quote for a job that a competitor had bid higher. His price was for 3 hours of work plus materials but when the work actually took 45 minutes he refused to make ANY adjustments to the bill. I felt ripped off and that he took advantage of me.

If you want to wait a week for them to tell you it will be another week then this is the place for you!  They don't schedule appointments so you are at their whim to when things get done.  Lost an entire week for my kitchen remodel.  I do not recommend them at all, especially if you have a little job. They really don't care.
