HPG did a fantastic job replacing all the plumbing in our unit recently. They are doing a huge job at Mott Smith Laniloa and everyone working for them is super-courteous and capable. In addition to the plumbing work they were amenable to fixing any related problems that cropped up, like scuffs on the wall. Top rating! Shout out to project manager John as well as Oleg and Nick in particular.

HPG changed the drain pipes in my condo building. The workers were
irresponsible. They left the lights on in my bathroom, they didn't close the sliding door to the lanai, and they left the front door open at the end of the day. When I spoke with Tiana in the office regarding this matter, she didn't even know how to respond. She replied Oh, finish your email to Michelle Grand ( General Manager) regarding this matter.

I'm not sure how good or how bad they are person I spoke to over the phone from the start was in a hurry and got bothered by having to repeat email and just a bad from star soo going somewhere else communicate is key for me..
This company is working next door on a commercial space to our offices. Their container/rolloff dumpster overflowed and all their junk is now blocking sidewalks and debris is everywhere in the area. I spoke with Mike who insisted its not their problem and blamed the homeless. I explained the street was clean when you started and its his responsibility to clean it up before they leave. He blatantly retorted. Not our problem. This company has no respect for neighbors or the aina. If you need a commercial plumber..look elsewhere. He cant even follow the rules of Aloha rolloff as they overflowed their rolloff. Just disrespectful to neighbors and concerns. Do NOT recommend this company.

My experience with HPG has been through Peter. He is the project manager for the repiping work at my rental property, a 45 year-old high rise apartment. Initially I contacted Peter to file a complaint. Peter was patient and non-confrontational even though HPG was not at fault. Over the course of the project, he is responsive and professional. We communicated through phone, text and email. The company sent excellent communication in advance and provided advice and resolution on an electrical issue unrelated to the project. They set the standard for customer service!

This review is for the HVAC side of HPG. Installed the Mitsubishi M-series split system about six weeks ago. Two compressors and five air handlers. It was a pleasure working directly with the owner Kimo upon referral from a friend who had recently installed a single split system. I was very pleased with the attentive response from HPG as it was he start of the busy time for AC installs. Many other Diamond contractors were difficult to get a hold, didn't respond, or seemed to be in it for the sales. HPG spent the time to discuss the system layout, cost, and to address concerns and make sure the customer was satisfied with the work. I believe HPG had about a year as a Diamond contractor, however their HVAC crews had decades of experience in the industry as installers. It was less than two weeks upon signing contract before starting work. Installers were very courteous and let me know when they were arriving and departing the work site. Installers discussed their plans before making penetrations in the walls. Installers took pride in their work and paid attention to he details for a neat and clean installation. Upon completion of work they quickly addressed an issue with one of the air handler's mounting plate that came off of its wall anchor.
I'm glad to have the system installed and have been actively using the system during this hot and muggy summer. System performs well as designed and is very quiet as advertised. I look forward to continue working with HPG to provide maintenance services on my system.
I have since referred a friend to Kimo who is currently having a system installed there.
We needed to get a toilet replaced in our rental unit and I requested a quote from HPG and was satisfied with his price which seemed very fair. Kimo was able to get a couple guys out very quickly and they were professional and courteous. They came with tarps for the floor, wore masks, and placed booties on their shoes. They had all their own supplies, didn't even ask for a paper towel or to place items in our trash can. They were fast and did an amazing job. I highly recommend their services!

When your AOAO selects the contractor for a full building re-pipe project, you don't have much choice as a resident but boy am I glad our AOAO chose Hawaii Plumbing Group. The team is amazing. From the on-site manager (Peter) to the crew (Nick, Johnny, Jonathon, Eric, Junior, Mikey, Gomer, and so many more) they are professional, respectful, efficient, and a pleasure to work with. They were constantly communicating and ahead of schedule. They were also able to correct plenty of other problems they encountered along the way.
In our unit, they had to remove multiple walls as well as completely gut a guest bathroom to replace the aging and failing pipes behind the walls. It's a major project and (of course) a major inconvenience when you live and work in the unit. Despite all of that, they put everything back together so expertly that you can't tell that they were ever here. They're hard-core about cleanliness and protecting your belongings and family.
We've been through major projects before but this was BY FAR THE BEST EXPERIENCE that we've ever had with a massive retrofit. Thank you HPG!
So many of the buildings in Urban Honolulu are due soon for these large-scale projects over the next few years. If your building is undergoing this work, I would strongly encourage you to use Hawaii Plumbing Group.

Because we have an association we don't really directly deal with the companies our association hires for our building repairs and our grounds but yesterday as I was leaving to go out I actually got to meet Calvin & Kalani from Hawaii Plumbing Group who was hired by our association to repair our leaking gutters that's causing mold to grow on the front of our building! Not only is it an eyesore and makes our building look pretty ghetto but according to Calvin & Kalani, (who I appreciated that they shared a wealth of info with me)...we could see even more major damage happening if left in disrepair. Thank you Calvin & Kalani for not only repairing the leak on my exterior wall, for also sharing info and answering my questions, AND ESPECIALLY for going way over and beyond and helping this Aunty out when I locked my keys in the house! I can't tell you how much I truly appreciated you guys helping us out and witout any damage to anything! Lol Hawaii Plumbing Group certainly has good people working for them! Sorry I was on my way to appointment or I would've bought you guys lunch! Maybe your boss can do the honors? Thanks again guys!

I have always relied on Yelp to get the feedback when I need to find out how good a restaurant really is or a place where I plan to conduct business. I am writing in to compliment the workers and the Management team at the Hawaii Plumbing Group HPG. My condominium apartment was approaching 45yrs old, and our Bldg Association forewarned us owners last year in 2015, that a complete internal plumbing retro-fit would be needed in the Spring of 2016. It was something I was not looking forward to because other friends had told me as to how invasive and inconvenient it would be. I am here to tell you that HPG, and their Team of competent and skilled workers displayed the kind of professionalism that I thought was long gone. Any questions or problems was handled properly by site HPG Manager Peter who made things right. Yes, the work required involved a lot of hard work, cutting into walls, drain pipe removal and their replacement, Finally , to replace and repaint, the removed sections of drywall, and the reinstalling all of the bathroom fixtures, ie vanities, and mirrors. I'm here to say, that all of that was done, with special care not to damage any of the home furnishings in the unit, and to leave each day, only after the work was performed satisfactorily, and the area cleaned up completely.The total work was done in less than 9days. My sincere appreciation and thanks to the Hawaii Plumbing Group, I am happy to refer you.
Just my luck that a plumbing problem came up on a Friday before a holiday weekend! I contacted HPG Saturday night and within an hour Kimo scheduled me for a Monday time slot. Plumber Hank called 1st thing Monday morning to better understand the problem and to request photos. Hank asked all the right questions (and he used terms that I could understand) and he got back to me right away on the best path forward.
HPG worked around my schedule to find the best date/time (and earliest!) to do the work. The crew helped us to unload the new toilets, they showed up at the house promptly, and they did a great job. They were very careful to observe COVID restrictions, social distancing and wearing masks the whole time. They consulted me on all critical repair/replace decisions. They communicated with me very clearly about the features that were important to me in selecting new fixtures, even repeating my words back to me to avoid mixups. They kept me in the loop on progress, and had a more than reasonable final invoice. They were very knowledgeable and good at fixing things. They even vacuumed up the area!
HPG was very polite, prompt, and professional. I will be calling them to handle all my future plumbing work as well as referring all my friends and family there.
My association at Likini West relied on Hawaii Plumbers Group (hereinafter known as HPG) for a complete overhaul of our plumbing for the building.
HPG replaced the plumbing in my unit as well as my building. On multiple occasions, those hired by HPG (either directly or indirectly) were fired due to their shoddy work or their elementary school antics (e.g. standing on owner's furniture, not wearing protective foot coverings etc.)
I have had multiple complaints with the work that HPG has done on my unit. First and foremost, my countertop back splash was damaged by HPG due to their tape job prior to opening my kitchen wall. I was only offered $50 to fix the problem and no more. I had to work an additional 5-6 hours on redoing my countertops to fix the problem they created. All the while, I was charged approximately $120 an hour to fix an unforeseen problem in my wall due to the previous owner(s). HPG would not budge on the damage to my countertop or the amount they charged for said unforeseen problems in my wall. They stated that my association approved the charge for all owners and it was not their problem.
Secondly, my bathroom vanity was not returned to its original condition. Upon inspection of HPG's work, I found my vanity roughly 1/4 inch off of its original position of my bathroom wall. HPG tried to remedy their work by adding a thick layer of caulk. I informed HPG of situation and they fixed it with a layer of silicone. *shrugs*.
If you, or your association is looking for a repiping of your building, go elsewhere. HPG will deliver non stop excuses for their work.

This company did work on the Apartment building my husband and I were living in, in Hawaii, and it was one of the most miserable experiences we have ever had. They made our life a living hell for three weeks. We had one usable bathroom at all times, which was okay, but every day we would have to come home from long days at work, to clean up their mess. I would have to vacuum and wipe up mud/dirt from our bathrooms, and put the shower curtain back up every single day. We also had to walk on dirty plastic wrap and nasty cardboard for a month, which they didn't even remove before a weekend. It was so unprofessional, we just couldn't believe it.
But the worst part of it was, we left a review on Yelp because of the experience, then the owner had the audacity to bribe us to take it down! I took it down because my husband being in the military, he wasn't home every night, and I felt it was safer to just take it down so they would stop bothering us and making a joke out of our experience. They also broke our bathroom mirror, which took a week to replace, and I had to actually ask them where the mirror was after they were done working. Then they told me the broke it... no one told us three weeks before when it actually happened. Just a badly managed company... I'm so glad we don't live on island anymore, so we don't ever have to put up with this plumbing company again.

Follow-up to my last review: Rick and his assistant did a phenomenal job repiping my entire 3/2 SFH. Project required all galvanized water piping and cast iron sewer piping to be removed and replaced with new materials. As an added bonus, the home's water and sewer systems were returned to full operation at the end of each work day thereby eliminating the need for my wife and I to find alternative housing during the project. If you are considering repiping your home, then I most strongly recommend you contact HPG for a consultation and quote. This is the 4th time I've used HPG and my wife and I couldn't be happier with HPG's customer service, affordability, communication, craftsmanship, etc.

My sister had a quote to do re-piping from her house to the city sewer line. I called Kimo at Hawaii Plumbing Group and found out that the first quote was very exaggerated and bordering on a scam. Kimo sent his team out there and took care of her re-piping at half the price and done very professionally. I would highly recommend Kimo and Hawaii Plumbing Group to do your re-pipe or general plumbing projects.
Calvin Kam , has come out to our house twice to service and repair all of our a/c. He has been very honest and does a great job. I will make sure to let all of our friends and family know, who to call in case the need help with plumbing or a/c.

Hawaii Plumbing Group did work in my building recently, replacing piping. Do not use this company if you are planning to do similar work. Your tenants and legal team will thank you.
My building could not have chosen a worse contractor. In my own experience, they've stolen personal property, left a mess EVERY SINGLE DAY they've entered my unit, and they've failed to correct damages to my unit.
If ever you work with HPG, do not expect any level of privacy to be honored. They look through your things and, unfortunately for me, steal my own property!
Also, every day they enter my unit, I've had to clean up after them. I'm no clean freak - all it would take is a literal minute of vacuuming or wiping down the unit, but even that is apparently too much for these guys. They just do not care. Simple as that.
When it came to corrective work, they'd do the easy things, and ignore any other items. Even when there was clear proof that they caused damage, they did nothing if they couldn't correct it in a few minutes. For us, it was much less of a headache to let things go just to get them out of our unit.
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Thank me later.

This business and it's employee's deserve an infinity star rating for their honesty and character!
This morning I dropped my wallet somewhere out side Joes Grill Express in the parking lot and one of the HPG Crew members found it and turned it into their office manager who call my BOH Office and had them contact me!
I called Margret and she explained what happened. I met her at the office and she handed me my wallet fully intact!
God bless this establishment! The Aloha spirit is well and alive here on Oahu!

Our tub was leaking water from the tub faucet, so I called HPG to have my entire valve replaced. I purchased a tub and shower faucet set from Home Depot, when HPG came and opened the sealed box we realized that the wrong valve was placed in the box. I didn't have a car so HPG offered to help me go to Home Depot to exchange it. After everything was done and HPG left, I realized that my tub faucet was still dripping so I called them again. Kimo was very helpful and sent his guys to come back to check on my pipes the very next morning. They checked all my valves, pipe, and cartridges. They found that there was a small stone that got stuck in my cartridge from the water system (rock entered when the water was turned one), and they fixed the problem immediately. They're so awesome and helpful! Special thanks to Kimo, Justin, Nick, Hank, and Kalani!
My building is undergoing a major re-piping project... very invasive, but such is the nature of a job of this caliber. At the end of the day, I had a good personal experience with this company. Ample notice was repeatedly given and tasks pretty much stayed on schedule as outlined to the residents. Friendly, helpful workers and the project manager was always on hand to address issues and provide updates. They showed appreciation for my patience and cooperation and I in turn had no problem giving them my trust to enter my home. I was provided with conscientious follow-ups and final checks with superiors when the job was done!
HPG did a great job on removing everything out of my two bathrooms, upgraded our plumbing and put everything back together better than before!
Everything from repainting, installing mirrors, toilets, Vanity, cabinets and the sink! Quick and painless all the way through!! Big thanks to Oleg, professional and ahead of schedule!!
It could have been a disaster; leaky toilet that kept spewing water all over the bathroom even with the water turned off. HPG arrived earlier than the 2 hour window they predicted and had everything taken care of in less than 2 hours. Mahalo Darryl!
