Genesis 1:3 Electric

I just moved into an older condo and am doing kitchen and other renovations, and needed a good electrician to help me with a variety of projects. I also encountered some odd electrical issues. Rhiley with Genesis Electric was an absolute savior, and solved all of the issues immediately. He also uncovered some major safety hazards and provided me a great education and made solid recommendations to update the electrical in this older unit to make it safe and reliable. He is also extremely friendly and enthusiastic about his work. I really appreciate having a good non-corporate feeling, LOCALLY OWNED company that I can rely on for help and strong customer service.

Wow. So rude. Waiting for them to show up this morning, had to call to see where they were. She tells me that she left me a message last week saying they couldn't come out today. I didn't get the message, but that's not even the rude part. What's rude, is that she can't reschedule me because she has already rescheduled other people for their available time slots. Hmmmmm, maybe she should have just rescheduled me to begin with? An ultra busy, professional business would have left me a message telling me that I was rescheduled and that if the new time didn't work for me, I should call. She told me to call another place. I know who I will never again recommend to my neighbors.

I have a basement to finish, architectural drawings, and decided to try this company based on the reviews.  I was barely able to tell him that I wanted my basement done when he starts telling me about how busy he is with several businesses I've never heard of. Only after I very quickly told him about the fact I was pulling permits and have drawings from an architect did he seem the least bit interested.  He simply gave me his email and said send me the drawings and I'll send you a quote. I should have known that he wasn't the least bit interested but  I sent the drawings anyway, and over a week later, nothing.  I wanted to give them a fair shot but apparently they don't need the work.  That's okay.  Like my wife said, move on with life and find someone else.  I will remember this going forward and steer anyone I know of looking for electrical work away from them.

An interesting fact happened after I posted this.  Dustin apologized and blamed various things for his lack of response.  He said he would be more than happy if I contacted him with my plans to his email address and he would gladly help me out.  Well, I sent over my architectural plans for him to view directly to the email he gave me.  It has been three days and not a word, not even that he received my email.  If this is the kind of response I get just trying to get a quote for work, I hate to guess what would happen if I accepted a bid.  I was willing to give him a second chance, but this is not acceptable.

Update: Dustin sent me a quote which took about a week due to him being sick. The quote was nice and then I asked to have him come to my house so my wife and I could meet him as I won't hire anyone sight unseen.  The day of the appointment, instead of calling me on my cell he sent an email that my wife just happened to see stating he was going to be late.  I had to call him.  We have a tight schedule to begin with, but I was happy that he was nice enough to make contact.  We had to reschedule to which he agreed to a few days after- Friday at 4 PM.  

Friday came and Dustin was a no call, no email, no show.  No more excuses.  Done with you.

Genesis electric has been helping us with random issues around our house for a couple years now. I wouldn't think of calling anyone else. They are trustworthy, fair priced, and do a great job. I highly recommend them.

Awesome service.  Quick response and reasonable pricing.  I feel confident Ethan found the problem and fixed it with little hassle.  Would definitely use them again!!

These guys did good work.  Unfortunately for them, we had a general contractor (Peak Construction Group) that would not pay them.  So we were sure to pay them directly, as they did great work and wanted to make sure their end of the deal was complete....despite the GCs short comings.

This company is ridiculous.  The first time they scheduled a time to give me a quote, they gave me an exact time, but then later told me it was a time window which is why they didn't show up when expected.  A great electrician then called back to set up the time for the quote and actually came by to give the quote.  He was respectful and seemed like he'd do good work.  I called back to schedule the job, but when the day of the appointment came, no one showed up.  When I talked to the receptionist (same one each time), she not only was not sympathetic to no one showing up for the job, but threw her boss under the bus, saying he was the one that forgot to schedule the appointment correctly, NOT her (I don't believe this).  I rescheduled with her AGAIN for today and she said someone would DEFINITELY show up this time, but here we are, and no one has showed up in the window they gave me, yet again.  That's THREE separate instances where no one showed up at all.  I believe the main issue is the receptionist, who I asked to have a manager call me, which she said she would (she didn't- no one ever called). Don't waste your time.

This was such an awesome company to work with.  Dustin was extremely quick to get back to me after I left a message.  He arranged for a technician to show up the next morning.  The technician was prompt.  Much quicker than I expected.  He was really friendly and he took the time to show me what the problem was.  I will gladly recommend Genesis 1:3 to any of my friends in the future.  It is such a relief to have a company I can trust regarding an electrical concern.

Dustin was able to come out and fix our problem very shortly after we called. He fixed a problem our previous electrician could not! I would definitely use this company again.

Dustin and his crew were awesome. Not only did they take extra time to trouble shoot our complicated situation so that our new chandelier could be hung, but they went above and beyond in their professionalism and cleanup. We had just moved and had a baby and they noticed that our doorbell was broken. They literally stopped over the next day and fixed the bell for us free of charge. Im so impressed and appreciative of these guys.
