We had our boiler and then our water heater go out within a matter of a week! Gerry and his crew at Dr. FixIt were responsive and knowledgeable! Thanks so much!

I used to be very happy with Doctor Fix It and now I would caution anyone who wants a dependable service company. Sure, if you invest a lot of money with them they may respond to you for a little while. I invested in a new furnace, air conditioner, thermostat, and water heater a couple of years ago.  This year it took two months to get an appointment for a/c regular service; they cancelled it the day before the appointment (said there was an emergency); they re-scheduled for the next week. They then cancelled the second appointment because of an emergency. After that I decided to find someone else. They are not good for the long term.

Beware of these scammers!  I scheduled a $49 furnace tune-up and they came and told me I needed costly repairs, or a new $14k furnace.  I called another company for an estimate and they said I didn't need a new furnace,  and if I did, they could install one for half of that.

Please beware!!!!
Dr. Fix It came out to check my AC as part of regular maintenance.  The tech said the blower motor in the furnace needed to be replaced because it was overheating and could cause a fire.  In addition, the AC fan motor needed replacement because it was leaking oil and the shaft bushings were bad.  They could fix it that day for $3596.58. Needless to say, I declined the repairs, but during the discussion about price and financing, the tech lowered the price to $1600.  How nice!
I had Xcell Energy come out for $135 to go over the furnace and AC.
Everything is fine, no chance of fire, and not a drop of oil anywhere.  Both AC and furnace are performing well.
So, beware of this unethical company.  Just read some of the other reviews. Unfortunately the Aurora Police said this was not a criminal offense, but their method of doing business is certainly criminal in my eyes.

Rodney Jeffers was very thorough upon his first visit and recommended some much needed updates to our electrical service. I called back a day later and scheduled for the estimated work to be done and he came and did it today. He is an excellent electrician and very nice and knowledgeable. I would recommend him to anyone needed electrical service. Doctor Fit-It is our go to provider for our furnaces, air conditioner's, hot water heater, and now electrical needs.

Very Happy Customer.

Big thank you to Ulises, Matt S. and Daniel!

When our air-conditioning broke on a Friday and the house heated up to 90 degrees, I called everywhere trying to find someone to fix it. Most places had a 2 - 3 week wait, but Doctor Fix-It squeezed us in. Ulises did the initial assessment - very professional, honest and friendly. He put a short term fix in place to get us through the weekend. Matt S. and Daniel showed up early Monday for the replacement, and I was really impressed. Matt clearly knew what he was doing, taught me along the way without making me feel bad for not really understanding the basics before. They were both very professional, and really easy to have around. They swept and vacuumed before they left, and helped teach me how to set the new thermostat.

Maybe not the cheapest option, but you get what you pay for with these guys.

I will definitely call them again!

Awful customer service. They could not do the financing at time of service due to an internal issue. Two weeks later I get a statement for $1000 more than the quote. Calls went un returned for a week, called back and got yelled at. The entire time I'm on hold Dave Logan tacking in my ear about what a great company they are, what a joke!

Staff was great but the labor cost are outrageous !!!  Labor was $4914 for 3 hours of work, $300 less then the furnace . Still makes me sick to my stomach. Need a lot of work done in my new house and will be sure to shop around ..

We had a coupon for a pre-season 27 point A/C tune up in the mail and decided to take advantage of this great deal. We have a fairly new Lennox furnace and a 14 Sheer air conditioner and we keep them maintained and clean and the A/C covered up when not in use. Therefore, technician Zane was able to perform the inspection without any problems.
Zane did a very good job and did not skip corners. I was watching like a hawk because I wanted to find out what the 27 point tune up/ check involves. Zane patiently put up with me asking a lot of questions while he was performing the maintenance. Zane answered all of my questions and we will specifically ask for Zane when we need another maintenance check! Highly recommended! A very happy customer.
Keep up the great work and your very friendly attitude! Thanks, Carola & Bob in Aurora

I was driving on I76, and saw this truck. Thought to myself I should call them for a quote on my basement, less than a minute later he Cuts across 3 lanes to cut me off in my semi, then slows down and cuts across the lanes again to the other side to get onto 85. If your drivers cut people off with no thought, what would they do to my house.

Dr. fix it attempted to rob me today. Quoted me $8000 to repair a furnace and that it would be $7200 to replace it instead. I agreed and while they were on the way with a new furnace I cleaned the flame sensor and it works good as new. Shame on this company and their commission structure.

Had Doctor Fix It Come out to inspect & clean sewer line. The technician said he wouldn't recommend doing a clean thru removing the toilet as it wouldn't be effective. Other options were thousands of dollars to provide external access for cleaning. Seems strange as the sewer has been cleaned out previously. In addition to that, he forgot that he turned on the downstairs sink & left it running after he left. It was on for hours before I found it as I never go into the basement. When I called to let them know this a.m. the person who answered the phone couldn't care less. The other technician who replaced my disposal had to go back to the office twice to do that; once to get parts since he used his last disposal prior to my appt & a 2nd time because the disposal he picked up was faulty. Really nice guy though.

I was happy with the service I received, which was a kitchen drain rooter and the main line out to the street cleaned.  It fixed my problem and I was charged a fair price of $200.  However, when I asked about additional plumbing things, such as removing my garbage disposal, it would have been $150!  Each additional thing other than what I called about would have been a minimum charge of $150.  Either way, I got my main concern addressed.

The people who come to give me a quote are all very nice, but the price they gave me is very very over priced. I am not in a rush, so I have time to have about three people to take a look at what I need to do. The price from Doctor Fix-it is always as about twice as price from other contractors. $2000 for add a sub panel, $1300 for adding a gas line to kitchen. I will try to avoid this company in the future although their contractors are very nice person.

This is a very attentive company. They installed two TOTO toilets a year and a half ago, and one of them needed a new tank set. They came out to repair it the same day. Steve P. was very professional and took care of the problem quickly. In the process, they are trained to check for other issues that may exist in the home's plumbing. He checked for the water pressure coming into the house which is somewhat higher than normal. The quoted price to completely fix that issue was over $1000.00. While I have no doubt that they would fix the pressure issue, I think that their labor charges are excessive. We'll probably find another company for that job. It isn't rocket science.

Doctor Fix It was a very professional company to work with.  Extremely responsive and helpful both over the phone and in person.
Pricing was average, but very straight forward and upfront.  NO surprises when it came time to pay the bill.
Patrick and Zane were the specialist that came to my door, and both were very friendly, explained in detail what was needed and how it would be done, and even went out of there way to help with a few extra issues that I had questions on.
I would definitely call them again for help in the future.

Doctor Fix-It prides themselves on the install jobs that they do. This is what sold me in the first place. I purchased an A/C unit with a furnace for around $11,500(I have a big home). It's very expensive but in my mind, they are expensive for a reason to get the job done right.

Once my A/C unit was installed they had to come visit me 5 times in a week to get the install right.  This kind of job should take them a day.

Day 1: Installed the A/C unit but the Furnace had a bad board. Installers didn't have an extra part and had to come the next day

Day 2: They came and installed the new board for the furnace. Everything was working.

Day 3: A/C unit was making loud click sounds and a/c was overworked. Later on, the A/C unit shut off. One installer came to see what the issues is but had to call for another installer with experience to come the next  day

Day 4: Experienced installer named Shane came and fixed the issue due to bad wiring from the first installers. There was a thermostat wire that was missing and he didn't have the part. So they have to come out again. Once Shane got his stuff, he stormed out of my home and said Have a nice day without explaining anything. My Lady and I were in total shock from him dispecting us like that in our home.

Day 5: The guy(Uli) that sold me this A/C unit came to install the last part which was the thermast wire. Uli is a good guy and means well but he knows my frustration.

Everything is working fine now but the experence I had with Doctor Fix It was horrible. I felt I wasn't compasaded enough.

I would recommened Premier Heating and Cooling since I have done business with them and they do a great job.

Updating because we've now used the same company for some plumbing problems and have been consistently nothing but impressed. Drilon is honest, thorough, outstanding at what he does, stubborn about getting to the true root of the problem, and he will keep at it until it's fixed -- even re-checking (unprompted!) something when he came back for an unrelated issue.

The company as a whole has great customer service, will do what they can to work you in ASAP, especially once you're an established customer, and are just plain easy to deal with.

Charged my daughter $200 for the visit and said the repair would be $3000, there was never a free visit. The technician left a 220 outlet uncovered. I went over and it was a tripped breaker. Terrible, would never recommend. Someone could have been seriously hurt by their negligence.

We had a leaky pipe emergency over the weekend and Doctor Fix-It sent Justin M. out Monday to make an assessment.  He gave us great options and the cost for the time and materials to repair the challenging fix sounded good so we took a chance.  By the end of the day Tuesday, everything was fixed and he stuck to his original quote... We HIGHLY recommend Doctor Fix-It and, specifically, Justin M.!

We highly recommend Dr Fix-IT. We have an older rental property that has needed some work and upkeep over the past year and they have been great.  Quick to respond, friendly, able to explain what is needed and fairly priced.  They may try to upsell you but that is the nature of business and they are nice about it. Highly recommend their service plan! Saved us lots of money!!

Avoid this company! The prices are a total rip-off. We were charged over $300 for a visit and quoted well over $2000 for a standard water heater. When I refused to authorize the installation, the plumber was rude to the point of being threatening.

I was very pleased with my experience with Dr. fix it. Eric was the employee to come out and help me get set up with a new furnace. He was very professional, thorough and communicative regarding the installation cost and requirements for the new furnace. He went above and beyond his duties to satisfy my needs as a customer. I was extremely impressed, he might be the best service tech I've had in the 3 years I've been a home owner. I would definitely refer him to friends and family. In general, Doctor fix it was quick to respond and easy to deal with. My home is also pumping heat more efficiently and they did a great job getting rid of my 17 year old furnace and replacing it with something new.

These guys are quick and awesome! The tech (named Detlef), was very thorough, and very friendly and informative about the process. He unclogged my tub drain with the snake, and worked quickly. It was only a flat fee of $88 which was cheaper than any other estimate that I received. He kept the area clean and spotless while he worked, and left no signs he was even there, except for the cleared drain. I was glad they could come over to do it the same day too, as the drain was completely clogged. The transaction was completed and done with no hidden fees or upsells.

I thought that the experience was overall good. I am a property owner who rents out my house. I live out of state and relied on Dr Fix-it to repair an electrical problem with my house. They were very flexible with the scheduling needs of my tenants and arrived early for the work. The electric problem was assessed accurately and timely, and the work done fixed the problem. The only negative feedback that I have is that I specifically asked to be called before work was done since I would not be there to monitor the work. I never received a call about the work needed, price, or even upon completion. When I called to ask about the progress I was told that the work was done, the technician had left, and I had been billed $X. Next time I need to be in the loop. I will still use them again and hopefully that doesn't happen.

Dishonest and over priced. Avoid this company at all costs. We had a broken drain pipe that the first technician said would take all day to fix, at least 8-hours. A different technician came to fix it 2-days later and had it done in less than 2-hours and they charged $1,885.00. They eventually refunded $525.00, but this still came out to $680.00 per hour. Materials were less than $50.00 (I priced at Home Depot). Megan (dispatcher/supervisor) refuses to return my calls. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Doctor Fix-It has certainly lived up to Dave Logan's endorsement. I had to call them 3 times over the last 2 months to diagnose a nebulous problem with our 2-year-old furnace. Each time, Dr. Fix-It responded the very same day. All the technicians were very diligent, courteous, and thorough. They patiently explained the furnace start up sequencing and the reasons they were adjusting, testing, and replacing various furnace components. By the end of yesterdays 3rd visit, they had replaced nearly all the inner workings of the furnace. They did it all under warranty at NO COST to me. I have no idea why some of the other reviews wrote what they did but my experience with Doctor Fix-It's phone receptionist, technicians, response time and quality has been exemplary.

I had Doctor Fix it come in to replace my hot water heater in my condo. It was my understanding they were a good company. One day after they replaced my hot water heater I get a call from my neighbor saying she has water draping into her garage. I reached out to Doctor Fix It to have them send out someone immediately. The tech who replaced the hot water heater came out and told me due to the new pressure of the hot water heater it caused my coils in my furnace to leak. II would have been nice if these guys would have given me a hint that this could happen. So I schedule them to come look at my furnace a few days later. The tech that showed up called and said they did not work on the type of system. So I scrambled and had to pay for a new company to come out the following day. In the mean time Doctor Fix It sends a different tech that was a manager without even letting me know until this guy was on his way. So I go ahead and let this guy come out. He was actually very nice and apologetic and offered to give me a decent price on replacing the furnace system. I told him that I already had a new guy sit up to come look at the system that I had paid for because the other tech told me they couldn't work on it. He said they would pay for that. I said ok but I just wanted to see what this tech would say about the system. Upon talking to the other companies tech I found out that Doctor Fix It had not put my hot water heater in to code. The drip pan is supposed to be installed so that if there is a leak it will go into a drain this way no damage can be done to units that are below. So I call Doctor Fix it to come out to have this done properly. Of course I'm not happy. The tech that comes out to fix it does not call me or anything when he is done. He just sends me pictures. This guy plugs the hole where a pipe should got to a drain just in case there is a leak like I mentioned above. I call Doctor Fix It and let them know that I don't think this is right and I wanted a manager to look at the pictures and call me. I waited for a day and no call. Then I call back and complain about this and I still have not heard from them 6 hours later. This is nothing but piss poor service. I guess now I will have an inspector come out to verify that Doctor Fix It has not don't this to code and go from there.

We called Dr Fix it to come look at a furnace that was not lighting. It was the middle of December and a week before Christmas. The Technician Marshal spent awhile looking over the furnace. He told us that the furnace needed to be replaced and that he would send a quote on how much it would be to fix it. Being the homeowner, I know that eventually the furnace does need to be replaced sooner than later, so I was interested in knowing the cost. Marshal sent me a quote on how much it would cost to fix (not replace) the furnace which was a more than $6,000. Mind you the furnace is for a 900sqft apartment. I asked Marshal if there was anything he could do temporarily so that the mother and daughter could at least have heat until the issue could be completely resolved. He said and I quote no, there is nothing I can do, unfortunately. I know better and I know that it would not cost $6,000 to fix a furnace, that is more than it would be to just replace it. I knew something was fishy. I had a different company go in the next day and within an hour, called and told me it is just the ignitor that needs to be replaced. A few hours later, the furnace was running and a full diagnostic was done. How dare he (Marshal from Dr Fix it) leave a woman and her daughter without heat in the middle of winter because you were trying to rip me off. I will not recommend this company to anyone. I even tried calling his Supervisor to let him know what had happened, never received a call back. Left a message for the owner to call me, never received a call back. Extremely unprofessional and unethical. Everyone I know will NEVER use Dr Fix it. I will be reporting elsewhere as well. Good day.

This was a horrible company. The technician came and stayed for about 30 minutes didn't even have a scope to clear out my line. I called the next day to have someone come over to fix my plumbing issues and come with a camera and the lady at the office was very rude. She said  The company doesn't provide camera service and that I would have to wait till Saturday to have someone come over. I couldn't even flush my toilet. I told him that somebody needed to come with the camera. A tech came the next day with a camera but no equipment to trade my mainline. He said that he can't do any more for me and then I would have to pay $14,000 for a new training system. Thankfully I found a highly reputable company that was able to clear my roots out, had a scope, And showed the work that they did. It's amazing how companies could get away with trying to con hard-working people.

My husband and I found out a couple days ago that our air-conditioning was not working properly and of course, it was on a 90+ degree day. We called Dr. Fix-It and Uli Alfaro came out that day and told us that since both our furnace and air-conditioning were both extremely corroded and more than 20 years old, the best option for us was to replace them both. The two technicians, Brent and Miguel, came out the very same afternoon and worked their tails off until almost 8:00 pm, went home and returned around 8:30 the following morning to finish the job and believe me, it was a huge job! I loved everything about the crew involved in this job and to top it off, we had air conditioning the first night! Word! Request Uli Alfaro and he'll take care of you!

I originally gave two stars about three weeks ago, but I'm doing an updated review to give one-star.

DO NOT USE DOCTOR FIX-IT for pipe replacements. They did a good job of getting right in, doing the job, and taking my $$$$$. They ha left my toilet in the shower and destroyed the tile going up my bathroom walls in the process. After weeks of trying to get ahold of them to talk about the damage, they did call once I posted a Yelp review.  But, once I sent pictures of the damaged tiles, they will not call me back or respond to emails I've sent. I'm sure they saw a single woman and figured they can take advantage of them.  Just so frustrated because I have to come up with even more money to fix the walls. BEWARE!

We scheduled an A/C Tune Up, after reading the great reviews online and requested Jose after reading the tips as well.  It took over a week to get them to come out, then they didn't send Jose after all.  There were no major issues going on; we just wanted a tune up.  Our tech, Hank, seemed like a nice guy.  But he did not have one single nice thing to say about our AC Unit or our furnace unit, claimed to not be trying to sell us anything, but stayed for 2 hours just to tell us over and over how bad everything was and the expenses to fit it.  He took a lot of our time that day, just to make us weary of our units and thousands of dollars when there were no major issues going on.  Hank is a nice guy, but a clever seller so be aware and do your own research.

On the coldest day of the year, my furnace goes out. We schedule Dr. Fix it to come out the next morning based on the good reviews and ratings.  The technician did show up within the time allotted, but he had no interest in taking care of the repair.  He had a negative, rude attitude immediately and then refused to do the work simply because we had taken off the cover to the furrnace to see if it was a simple issue withh the fuse. He claimed he needed an electrician to come out before he could repair it.  It seems to me like they were looking to get more money out of me.  We called a different company that came out the next day (after another freezing day/night) and he diagnosed a bad motor immediately and fixed it. I'll not be caling or  referring Dr. Fix it again.

Had a intermittent back up in my kitchen sink, and the ol plunger wasn't cutting it any more. Detlef J arrived and took care of business quickly and professionally. He even had his manager Jon M come by and check things out to make sure all was good.
After talking for a bit about my older house and plumbing I remembered my toilet had been running for months (or was it years?) They took care of that too. After a few sour run ins with plumbers in the past, this was a welcome change. Thanks Detlef, Jon, and Dr Fix It!

So surprised after the good reviews about this company. Had them out for the water heater - seems to be leaking from the relief valve - and the washer hookups - the box is melted. I thought I could get a cost for repair of both items, but the technician went straight to replacement of the water heater (for $1500), and with the other repair, the cost would come to $3K -- which I didn't have at the moment. The technician got very upset with me because I wouldn't agree to spend that kind of money (which I didn't have), and started being abusive with scare tactics. If I would have realized that they were previously Benjamin Franklin, I wouldn't have called -- have had bad experiences with that company in the past...

I have a Doctor-Fix-It service plan since 2021 and had decided to have my furnace cleaned and checked out. Doctor-Fix-It HVAC service rep., Brent C., whom I found to be extremely credible and forth-right, provided a very detailed, honest assessment (complete with photos and carbon monoxide readings) of my twenty-year-old, Denver, Colorado horizontal furnace in February 2022. After reviewing the results, I decided to replace the furnace. Brent's manager Mike Valencia came out that same morning. For twenty years, my old gas-forced air furnace, has been bothering me with the amount of dust. Due to Denver's extremely dry climate, I'd wake up with congestion caused by allergens and dust. Mike was very informative and educated me on the innovative products (steam humidifier, APCO-X ultraviolet air purifier) Doctor-Fix-It offered and provided what I believed to be a fair estimate for what I had chosen. So, I agreed to have the work done. Two Doctor-Fix-It HVAC installers, Julian and Nathaniel were the most diligent, hardest working installers I have ever experienced. Julian was the lead installer, and his ultimate level capabilities and workmanship are unmatched!!!! Every Doctor-Fix-It representative, Brent, Mike, Julian and Nathaniel exceeded my expectations and then some!!!! They are the GOATS!!!! What a team!!!! Am very grateful I found Doctor-Fix-It.
I recommend Doctor-Fix-It of Denver for your Heating, Plumbing and Electrical challenges without any reservation.

Overall service was good and everyone I communicated with was professional. That said, it cost me nearly $900 for a simple sump pump replacement. The pump they installed retails for about $200. The cost of the service was nearly twice the national average for the work done. I needed to get the job done quickly and did not want to take the time for multiple estimates so I just had the work done despite the gouging.

While I feel the installer was competent and knowledgeable I definitely feel like I was taken for a ride on the price. I doubt I will use this company again in the future.

Matt Schrader has been working with me on a project  with my heating system. Matt is always patient, knowledgeable and a perfectionist with the work he performs! He is considerate and respectful of his customers property too. And, he also happens to be a very nice and polite person. It's always a pleasure  to have Matt in my home and I'm totally confident with  his recommendations. He is a real credit to Doctor Fix-It! I am hoping that he receives acknowledgement for a job well done and for going above and beyond with his customers. Thank you again Matt.

This was such an easy and enjoyable process from the second I called to when the technician left. I was so worried this would be a nightmare of a process, given the issue, and I was so impressed with everything from the customer service agent to the technician, Ryan.

He arrived on time and fixed my bathroom sink within 10 minutes (after hot wax was poured down it) had it fixed -- and he was extremely nice and pleasant. It was not even as expensive as I had expected.

Really appreciate this company and experience.

Back in March, we did quite a bit of market research with probably a dozen companies looking to fix our outdated water heater and HVAC system and found that we could get the most bang for our buck hiring Dr. Fix-it for all three.  Naturally, because we were getting top of the line everything, they threw in all the bells and whistles.  We agreed on the price on a Friday morning after the sales guy essentially begged us for our business because business is slow right now and we pay our guys salary so we just need to put them to work. We can come tomorrow and be done on Monday. That's where they get the two stars.

First, they had three guys on Saturday come in and they got everything probably 90% done. The last 10%, were putting in the bells and whistles like the UV light filter, cleaning our ducts, and finishing the nonessential tasks. Each of these amounted to it's own visit, so we had to be around, on their schedule to get these done. This went on for 6 weeks. I should also note, that the company culture and policy is to leave the work area in a satisfactory cleanliness condition. Satisfactory is a great word, because as the customer, it's enough to annoy you but not enough to throw a big stink about it.

Now it's June and COVID is over and we're having people over but we just realized that the Air Conditioning unit is not producing cool air, just recirculated house air that 78° when it's programmed for 62. Even at six in the morning the temperature remains at 74 when it's below 60 outside.  I called to complain and have somebody come out and the soonest they can get somebody out is 48 hours and my concern should get a call back from the manager within the next 24 to 48 hours.

I'll be very happy when this is over and everything works but I do have severe buyers remorse going through Dr. Fix-it. I would not recommend them to anybody, but I can say they were better than the dozen or so other contractors that we called up, from first glance.

I called Doctor Fix it because I have a membership with them. I was replacing a shower diverter and the old seat was stuck, so needed it removed with the proper tool and more muscle than I have. I explained in detail what I needed when scheduling the appointment, and the woman assured me the technician would have the proper training and tool. When he arrived, he informed me (without looking in the pipe) that he would not attempt to remove the seat because if something goes wrong we would be responsible to fix it. That wasted two hours of travel time for me. He said Doctor Fix It could cut the tile and replace the pipes and diverter for $1250 with my member discount! All to replace a $2 seat I had already purchased?!? I called a different plumber to come the next day and he removed the seat in 5 minutes and replaced it and the diverter since he was there, charging me under $200. Clearly Doctor Fix It was just trying to get money from me.

My W/D stopped working mid-cycle. I did some of my own trouble shooting including checking the breaker (which was not tripped) and resetting the other GFCI outlets in the house.  I called Doctor Fix-It and explained the situation.  They were able to schedule an appointment first thing the next day.  They actually had an appointment that afternoon too but I wasn't available.  So it's nice to know they have great availability!  Cameron showed up on time and was very professional and friendly.  He took the time to make the correct diagnosis and considered all options to make the most cost-effective repair.   The repair work was in a tiny crawl space behind the old coal shoot (house is 100+ years!).  Yuck...but he was a professional and went right to work!  He also checked for other possible electrical issues in the house and pointed out some potential hazards to be aware of.   I like that Doctor Fix-It also provides plumbing and HVAC services too so I will be using them again for these needs too in the future.

While I cannot attest to the actual work they do, I can tell you that their customer service is horrible. I got a flyer in MoneyMailer and needed to have two simple things done in my home: switch out 3 light fixtures and connect a new laundry sink. My house is less than 3 years old and everything is wired and plumbed for what I need done. First of all the girl on the phone spoke so fast that I could not understand a word she said. I asked her to repeat herself several times. She basically informed me that in order to find out how much it would cost, I would need to pay the $78 service charge to have an electrician and a plumber come out. She could not give me a range of prices or any idea as to how much it would cost. When I asked what happens to my service charge if I don't go with them, she said they don't refund the charge. I'm not about to find out how expensive their services are for simple work such as what I need done.

Adam and the whole team that replaced our bad sewer line did a great job. Everyone involved was professional, courteous and respectful of our home. The work was explained well and we got good answers to all of our questions. They took extensive measures to protect our yard from the heavy equipment on the day they did the work and when they finished the job the benefits of their care were obvious and much appreciated.

The job was complicated by the fact that a fiber optic contractor had run conduit through the sewer line and we needed to document the damage and coordinate moving the conduit with the fiber optic contractor. Adam spent a great deal of time working to determine who was responsible for the conduit and getting their representative to come to our house to view the damage. Because of Adam's efforts we were able to work out an acceptable compensation agreement for the conduit damage with the contractor and everything was resolved without any difficulties.

Dr. Fix-It exceeded our expectations and went above and beyond for us. We have used their services many times and they will continue to be our plumbers of choice.

Had these losers come out to see why my 6 year old water heater wasn't heating. He wrote up 2 estimates, drain my tiny hot water heater, replace 2 elements. OVER 900.00, elements on Amazon 15.00 for 2. Second Estimate was to replace hot water and dispose of old one, over 4,400.00, LMAO, do these people think I was born last nite??
Same hot water heater at home Depot 400.00. Took my son 30 minutes to drain tank. Took 10 minutes to replace elements. Total of 40 minutes, and these CROOKS were going to charge me over 900.00.
Stay away from this company, they are THIEVES, their motto is HONESTY AND INTEGRITY, they have neither !!!

Had Doctor Fix It do a cleaning/tune up on my furnace. It started out a little rocky with the good Doctor missing the scheduled time frame but they did a great job of keeping me in the loop and providing rescheduling options. Unfortunately, I ended up losing the day waiting for them but because of the regular updates and options, it was my choice to do so - I was not sitting around wondering where they were.

Once the tech, Shane M., arrived, things took off. I like to look over techs shoulders to watch and learn. I'm just interested in seeing how things work. Before I could even check with Shane to see if that was okay, he invited me to hang out with him and he would explain everything. Huge points in my book. Throughout the service, Shane was explaining the different parts of the furnace, how different components work within the system, and which key, inexpensive parts need to be monitored and replaced to avoid larger repairs down the road. It was an info junkie's dream. Shane was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and just a great guy. He turned what could have been a mediocre experience into an incredible one. And keep in mind, I'm  talking about a furnace tune up here. I expected it to be a task, not enjoyable.

We have had excellent service from Doctor Fix-It and especially, Eli Easter for the recent issue we had with two things in our house.
Eli was so courteous, compassionate, helpful and accommodating, I was surprised and delighted.
We used to use Applewood but they turned out to overcharge and a particular service person was downright disrespectful.
On the other hand, Eli was such a personable and knowledgeable change that I wanted to hug him.
Doctor Fix-It was also super reactive to our call and scheduled Eli within a day so that was fantastic service!
Thank you for being you, Eli!

I had a leaking toilet and a broken kitchen faucet, and needed them fixed on the same day. I called Dr Fix it and was scheduled for 3pm to 5pm. No one showed so I called again to complaint. The technician came after 7pm. But he was courteous and helpful, and was able to fix both in less than 30 minutes. The price was quoted at $289, even after the coupons it is $269. It's a little high, but acceptable considering the alternative.

Pay attention to the fact this company has 3 stars average but their front page is full of 5-star reviews (often by people with 1 review - the review they wrote for this company).

I paid for the membership they offer, for I think around $100 they are supposed to do yearly maintenance for me. Although they initially told me they would call to schedule for spring maintenance, I finally called around June because I hadn't heard from them. I scheduled the maintenance for end of June, the day before my appointment I received a call saying they did not have sufficient technicians. I asked when could I reschedule my appt? They said - we don't know. We will call you when we have staff for it (that's funny - they didn't do that before).

Point being, this is not a trustworthy company. They are out to grift you. Their prices are not fair, they are comparatively expensive, make sure to shop around. I only paid for the maintenance plan because it seemed like a reasonable deal, but now I'm realizing it was a scam to steal my money.

This is hands down the worst company in Denver, I know because I had them replace my AC/ Heater and then had them come out and try and fix a small pipe leak in my bathroom- Long story short- they FLOODED my entire first and second floor of my house !!!!(not connected to the bathroom in question) The Plumber overflowed my laundry room and then asked me if i had any towels to clean up the major flooding on the first AND second floor (it went through the first floor lights and vents). it took 6 TOWELS, 3 BATHROBES, and 2 KING SIZE SHEETS to clean up the mess. He then told me ASBESTOS was NO BIG DEAL as they cut into it in my ceiling and LEFT ME with the mess, and then tried to blame the whole situation on me, despite the plethora of evidence (videos, reports, recorded phone calls etc) pointing to the plumber in question. They then sent a SHADY mitigation company to pick up the pieces that wasn't even associated with them and told me to start a claim with my insurance even though it was the PLUMBER who flooded my entire house by accident- the plumber even told me the company would open the claim and then conveniently had amnesia after the fact.  These people will come to your house to fix a small leak and will leave your house with extreme water damage and in shambles!!!! dont be like me,  DO NOT TRUST THEM!

There is not an option for zero stars so I had to give them 1. A Mr Eric Nielson came to my house after my water heater stopped working.  He told me that I had 2 options. I could either pay 800 for a part to go into something that will break anyday or pay 1900 for a complete system,  which was highly recommended. Not! I had Umbrella Plumbing come out and it was a broken igniter.  200.00 parts and all and they were done in an hour. Save your money.  This place will take you for everything you are naive enough to fork over.  Buyer beware.

Scummy and Scammy. I fell for their discounted furnace tune-up for a rental property. They had my tenants convinced that one more day in the house with that furnace and they would be dead. The technician conveniently already had a quote for a 'special' they were running. It was one of those specials where the price is about 50% higher than the next highest bid I got. How special.

They recently called that they 'had me on their schedule' for a yearly tune-up, which was required by the manufacturer to maintain the warranty. If that's not some flat-out scam stuff I don't know what is.

Just avoid!

Luke the electrician was outstanding. As for Robin in the office she is very rude and unprofessional. When I called to schedule HVAC technician they called me back 30 minutes later to reschedule for a different day. He never left a quote but the 1st guy wanted to send a second guy from his company for the second opinion.  why not?  the second guy quoted $2,800 and DID put it in writing.  He also suggested we not only get a new furnace but also a new water heater (might as well do them at the same time)!?  $16,000!!!!!

Got my second quote from another company the next day. THIS new company told me the furnace would outlive us and didn't need a thing. turns out it was just trapped air that need to be purged.

Do not hire this company!! Had them out after our water heater stopped working. The man that came which I would only describe as a salesman, told me we needed a new water heater and a new pressure valve because our pressure was 110 and should only be 75. He quoted me more than 4K but offered a good discount for $3900. I didn't know better and said ok.

Luckily!!! I called my dad and he was livid. He told me that the actual water heater should only be $400-500 and the work should never be $3500. I then called another independent company that came and did all the work for 1/3 of the price I was quoted by this company. They also found that I didn't need a pressure valve. Our pressure was 70 and perfect.

How do these companies stay in business?! They are horrible.

They were very prompt in giving an estimate on a hot water heater, however I was quoted extremely high compared to other options.  I was not in an emergency situation however their attitude was trying to make me feel like I should be in a desperate situation.  Definitely felt as though they were trying to rip me off.  Never heard a follow up either.  Don't let them convince you that you are in a desperate situation.  Shop around.

I can't comment on the quality of their work, as I never got that far.

I needed a kitchen faucet changed (I had the faucet, just needed it installed). I called and asked for an estimate and they couldn't give me the vaguest of ideas. I scheduled an appointment for a Thursday, 10-12. At 1130 they called to say they had to cancel, rescheduled for Saturday 10-12. They called at 1100 to say it would be closer to the 12-2 window (that I never agreed to). The tech arrived at 2:04. He came in, checked the water pressure and under the sink and then gave me a quote for about $1500. He told me I also needed to change the water shut off valves under the sink and a regulator because the water pressure was too high. I have no idea if this is true, but when it was checked two months ago, it was normal. To just change the faucet would have been $500, which seems quite expensive for about an hour of labor. It was at that point that I told him he had wasted enough of my day and needed to leave. I felt like they were trying to take advantage of me.

We had this company replace furnace , a/c and water heater. They did an ok job with all of that, thus the 2 stars. However any follow up with finishing this job, or any yearly inspections you better have your schedule open. They don't show up half the time without giving you notice or they cancel at the last minute, and then try to reschedule you months later.  I have never dealt with a company,  that after you pay them, they basically blow you off. If I new the hassle it would be to get them to service their product I would have gone with a different company. They say it's because of emergency calls, they have to reschedule or if a another job takes longer than expected they have to reschedule, which I would understand, but this has happened to me almost every time there has been a scheduled appointment With this company. Buyer be ware!!!

This is not a specialty service. This a company that services customers with technicians that have the basic knowledge.  They are master level. However they seem to think it's ok to charge master level fees.  I called Dr Fix It for a quote to replace two dimmer switches.  They wouldn't give me a quote over the phone....RED FLAG!  I had Dr Fix It come out and I provided the 2 dimmer switches (still in the boxes).  Service tech spent 2 hours chitchatting about how smart he was but couldn't get a 3-way dimmer to work.  He couldn't wire them correctly so he concluded that both dimmers defective.  I showed him the exact same dimmer in my kitchen that works fine (installed by a master electrician during my kitchen remodel). He ended up installing a couple of lame dimmers from his truck.  In the end, he wanted to charge me $1000.  I said no. What a waste of time and money.  I would recommend calling a real electrician, plumber, or whatever before Dr Fix It.

Good - Got an appointment within a couple of hours. Job was done well, no complaints.
Bad - EXPENSIVE. I had a burst pipe behind some drywall. I didnt mind paying the $500 to fix the burst pipe even though he was only there roughly +- an hour. But the charge to cut out roughly a 1 foot by 1 foot piece of drywall......$170. Thats not to repair, simply to cut out. If that aint price gouging, I don't know what is. But I had the option to refuse, just giving others a sense of what their costs are like. I will not use them again based on that pricing.

First, let me say this, They lady over the phone quoted that they would come out about 2 to 4, and they were late. The prices that they quoted me were horrendous. almost 1300 for my swamp cooler to be repaired. Then they quoted me at 3249 for a brand new swamp cooler, which is crazy! I can purchase a brand new AC unit for that price. The guy precedes to tell me, I know we are a bit pricey, but we get job done. My co-worker, came over and fixed my swamp cooler for dirt cheap!

Honestly, I didn't use their services but I did have a poor customer service experience when trying to.

We needed to have a water heater replaced so I reached out via their online chat system. After a few basic questions the rep told me they'd have to call to give the estimate. They actually didn't give an estimate over the phone, instead they just scheduled a free appointment to come the next morning and give an estimate. Not sure why they couldn't have done that via chat, but ok.

I called around to a few other places who were able to give me an estimate over the phone. I found one at a price I was happy with and they could come the next morning to do the work. The next morning I called to cancel my appointment with Dr. Fix-It and I thought that was the end of it. Nope.

I had left my phone in another room and came back to a voicemail that Dr. Fix-It was on route to my house! So I called them to let them know I called earlier to cancel and to please let their technician know he doesn't need to come to my house. Again, I thought that would be the end of it, but half an hour later my door bell rings and I had to have a very awkward conversation with the technician. I felt terrible for wasting his time but 1) it'd be great if the company could start giving estimates over the phone, they lost the job over this, and 2) it'd be even better if communication was improved between all of their customer service channels and technicians.

I recently contacted Doctor-Fix-It after my husband somehow managed to pull apart the pipes under the sink while trying to reconnect the garbage disposal.  I called Benjamin Franklin plumbing because it was the first one I could think of, and scheduled an appointment for the following morning at 9 am.  Well 9 am came and went, and he was not yet here.  I called to check in and apparently his phone had been damaged so he was receiving his pages late, if at all.  Not really a huge deal, because they have an on time guarantee where for every minute your technician is late, they pay you 5 dollars.  That's totally fine by me!  When Marvin arrived around 10, he was so professional and apologetic about being late, then got right to work.  He diagnosed the problem under the sink and took care of it within about 5 seconds flat.  Then I guided him to the other issue, the mysterious leak from my bathtub to a closet in the basement.  After some trial and error with the water on and off, he fixed the gasket and put everything back together perfectly.  When it was time to pay, he kindly waived the service fee for fixing the leak (which took WAY more of his time than the sink job) because of the time error.  There were no surprises otherwise because he went over everything with me beforehand.  Marvin was a perfect gentleman and I will absolutely request him any time I need something else fixed.  He explained everything to me as he was doing it, and made sure it was all working 100% correctly.  All the while my five month rottweiler puppy was up in his business the entire time he was here.  Great guy, great company, 10/10 will recommend.

We initially had a good experience with our first repair to our heating unit with the last late late snow storm. We signed up for the membership so that we could get a 15% discount on any future repairs. Soon after our A/C stopped working, so we had Doctor Fix-It out again for a quote (we had received a quote from the original installer of the HVAC system that week, and it felt high, so we asked Dr. Fix It to come out). Doctor Fix-It quoted was even higher price then the first quote even with our 15% discount. We eventually had the repair done for 1/3 of the price by a certified HVAC technician (in case your wondering) 3rd times a charm I guess! We felt confident with their services, but now we realize the pricing of these types of repairs vary greatly, and now we have to be on our toes going forward.

Scammers scammers scammers!!! Stay away. They charged us $740 for a thermostat change.  They were in the house for a total of 15 minutes. I was suspicious and asked for a bill with breakdown of parts and labor and he said sure we will email to you and he took my email address.  Of course no such email came.. When I called office to tell them the national average of thermostat changing is $275 and I had not received receipt with the breakdown of parts and labor. They said they don't provide that. That the price is the price. What on earth?

After reading these reviews I'm shocked this place is still in business. It's clear they are a predatory business

The A/C in the house we are renting completely stopped working. Our owners called Doctor Fix It and on the same day they called, a service man was sent out to see what the problem was. Turns out, a new compressor/unit was needed. This occured on a Friday and the next day they sent out Miguel and his brother who worked tirelessly and efficiently to install the new compressor (as well as a new water heater as that apparently had broken, too!) Wonderful work ethic! They wore masks and foot coverings while in the house (for close to 8 hours, I might add) and also put a protective runner on the floor so they wouldn't damage it. I cannot speak about Doctor Fix It's charge/cost for this entire installation/purchase as my owners know this part, but what I can speak about is their exceptional service! I highly recommend them.

Called early in the week to have the Doctor come out  and fix an AC issue.  I was told the earliest available appointment was Friday so I agreed to a window of time from 10-12.  They called an hour before the appointment after taking the day off of work to inform me they had to reschedule.  Understanding that sometimes things just happen, I agreed to have someone come out on Monday (today).  I once again took the day off from work and again the Doctor called, this time five minutes after the window opened, to inform me they would have to reschedule again.  Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Based on recent reviews from others it appears as though the good Doctor has become ill and their performance is suffering from it.

I had an AC leak at called these guys, based on the Yelp reviews they seemed pretty good. They were quick to come visit and sent both the electrician and AC guy.

The job they did was fine, however I think their pricing was really high. The cost to fill my tank with 3lbs of coolant was over $525.00, online you can buy a 30 lb tank of the stuff for $365.00 - so the markup for labor on this was approximately $450.00 - that's way too high.

We had been members of Dr. Fix-It's loyalty plan for many years. We have had a number of services performed by them and were generally very happy with the results. The technicians were always very professional and pleasant to work with. So, when we needed to mount two chandeliers, one in our dining room and one in the two-story entry way, we called them for a quote. We were stunned when they came up with an estimate of $2055!!! Our loyalty plan discount brought the price down to $1819. Even though we knew that the installation of the chandelier in our two-story entry way would be challenging, we never dreamed the work would cost this much. We called three other providers. Their quotes ranged from $305-$1096 for the entire job. We went with the provider offering the lowest price, $305. This provider has been doing business in the Denver metro area for over 25 years, has a sterling reputation, is bonded and insured, and was highly recommended by the premium lighting store where we bought the chandeliers. It took this provider under 3 hours to do the work, is of excellent quality and included a warranty. We were so surprised by the exorbitant estimate offered by Dr. Fix-it that we called afterwards - twice - to talk to their General Manager and VP of Sales in order to try to understand why their price was so outrageously high. In both instances we were rebuffed with the same basic lame excuse - Well, that price was derived from our standard pricing list. This in no way addressed our concern that Dr. Fix-it was way overpriced and led us to second-guess whether we had been price-gouged on the $13K HVAC system they had installed previously. Since they showed no real interest in addressing our concerns regarding their pricing, we dropped our membership in their loyalty club and have not done business with them since. Our advice is Buyer Beware! Be sure to obtain several other estimates before you simply accept Dr. Fix-It's price estimates.

Got the furnace a its yearly tune-up. Easy to schedule. Technician tried to up-sell me and quoted me $1200 of suggested work. I quickly declined the inflated prices. I did replace 2 of 3 components suggested ($430 quoted) for $60 and 15 minutes of my time. The 3rd suggestion is functioning completely fine and does not need replacing. Not sure why I'm seeing a 3 star overall rating for these guys. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. Anytime that I've needed them, even the first time, they've shown up as soon as possible, typically the next day or same day if necessary. Every tech that's ever been here has been absolutely amazing, professional, extremely friendly, and great work. Their prices are very reasonable and I love their membership which provides free yearly maintenance on electrical, plumbing, and HVAC, plus 15 % off of whatever they have to do. They recently reduced the membership price for members and match it to donate to a very worthy cause to help people in need.

The front office and billing personnel are terrible. I paid for duct cleaning when I had heater maintenance done, then was billed another $200+ to my checking account, then they tried to Bill me another $30. These two charges were not authorized but had to get my bank involved. And when the Tech set up my duct cleaning appointment, was given a date for Saturday, however I just received a text saying they'd show up tomorrow between noon and 10 pm. When I called back for clarification, needing the appt to be moved to Saturday or after 4 pm on Friday, was told they don't do duct cleaning on Saturdays and 4pm is too late for them. Now why did they text me one set of hours (noon to 10pm), when they can't work that late. This has happened frequently over the past 5 yrs since I paid them to install new furnace and water heater. The Techs are great but the business office is poor. I would not recommend using them.

Scheduled service for between 8AM and 10AM today. They called at 9:10AM to say the service person was on the way to my house and would be there in 10-15 minutes. So far so good. Then I waited for him. And waited. And waited.

Stood outside for over an hour. No call, no show. Called their office and was put on forever hold. Hung up and called Precision. I should have called them first.

Update: Neighbor reports the guy finally showed up more than two hours after he called to say he was on his way.

Yesterday the floor drain in our basement started overflowing whenever we used any water in the house. I was worried about weekend fees given that it was a Sunday so I waited until Monday to look up a plumber in the area. Apparently I didn't even need to wait since Dr Fix It doesn't charge for weekend calls, but that's great to know for next time. They were able to get someone out quickly and resolve our issue. The technician, Jay, was very friendly, did a plumbing inspection and explained everything thoroughly (which I really appreciated as a new homeowner), and just generally went above and beyond to make sure all was well with our plumbing. I signed up to be a member which seems like it comes with some great perks and discounts. I'm happy I chose Dr Fix It and definitely recommend their services. Be sure to ask for Jay!

Every step of the way doctor fix it was perfect.  I had an Electrical issue and called them up.  They sent will out immediately.

Before will arrived I received a txt indicating his arrival time and they mention he gained a lot of knowledge from his grandfather and coached a youth basketball team.  It was awesome to know a little bit about him.

When he arrived he was very quick to asses and provide solutions. He was very knowledgeable of the prices and steps needed to be done.

Not only were my three kids all over him with questions and jokes, so was my dog.   He embraced all of us with tons of love .  Honestly we though he came over to just hang with us. Lol

Straight up scam!!  Our furnace stopped working in January and I called the number on my water heater which looked like a local company.  It was a Sunday so I figured the $99 service charge was normal for a Sunday afternoon.  They came out and stuck a camera in the furnace and of course it showed the dirtiest part of the furnace.  They told me it would cost $800 to clean out the area that is dirty,  around $1500 to clean out the whole furnace and over $2000 to rebuild the furnace so it sits higher.  My wife and I decided to get a second opinion. We were referred to a local one man company.  He came out and said he would do the cleaning for $150.  So of course I jumped on it.  As I watched him open up the furnace he showed me the area where Dr. Fix it said it was unbelievably dirty.  There was one dirty area on the whole internal area which is exactly where Dr. Fix it stuck the camera.   He cleaned that and added an extra pipe to the drain area for the furnace and charged me $90. Unbelievable difference in price.

All they are interested in was selling me a new sewer line.  They were asked to rout the line to which they said it would do no good. That said, my line had already been checked by a master plumber and an inspector who both said it was fine.  They wanted a thousand dollars to replace a faucet.  When I asked why they said it's expensive to run a big company.  I replied, then Walmart would be the most expensive place on earth.

WATCH OUT for these guys.  My water heater was leaking.  Called them after reviewing Yelp and had a coupon.  The technician came out on time, but I was not getting a good vibe about the technician from the beginning.  On top of replacing the unit ($1979-$2235 depending on the warranty period), he recommended putting in a calcium preventative system ($1295) that would need a new electrical outlet (no pricing because an electrician would have to quote).  Holy crap, who has that kind of money!!!  I got a second estimate from Colorado Plumbing Solutions (CPS).  CPS was a couple hundred dollars cheaper and did not feel the need for a calcium preventative system.  I felt CPS was more honest and went with them instead.

Heater went down, called this company because I drive by it everyday and no other reason, wow was I impressed!  Shane C was my tech.  First he was here within 2 hours of the time I called.  He showed me how he diagnosed the problem and then fixed it without the need for a part.  I opted to hold off replacing the part now that I know how to fix it by tapping it.  Only charged me $39 for the entire thing.  Last time I had another company out of the Yellow pages, supposedly reputable, look at my HVAC system they had all these bs recommendations about wrapping all my ducting with insulated foil, wrapping up my heater and AC, lining the dirt under the house with some kind of overlayment, to the tune of about 1500 dollars, I sent those clowns packing but after that experience I was nervous about trusting an HVAC company to do the right fix for the fair price, Doctor Fix-it was just the company to give me an honest deal, will definitely use them again and recommend Shane C to anyone that has been ripped off by an HVAC company.

Our furnace went out in the middle of the night and they were able to come out first thing the next morning which I was very happy about but that was the only positive part of the experience.

The technician told me we need 5k in work done to repair the unit in which I responded if we need a full rebuild as he called it we would likely look at replacing the whole unit. At this point he told me we would also have to replace our A/C unit. This is when the red flags went up for me.

He informed me he was unable to provide me an estimate for a replacement and we would need to speak with a project manger. That was no problem for us but when I asked if we could get that scheduled  for a time when myself and husband could be there he responded  yes but if I schedule this appointment for you are you going to be ready to pull the digger and get the work done'

What...how are you asking me if I'm ready to commit to a multi thousand dollar project with your company before even provided me a quote.

I told him we would likely have multiple companies come out to provide a bid as that is standard process for us when spending this type of money.

At this point he seemed annoyed and never scheduled us to meet with a project manger. In my mind I was thinking your company doesn't want to but a bid in for this work?

After having two more companies come out I now clearly understand why he never scheduled us to meet with a manger and get a quote.

The two other companies both said the unit could be repaired and never mentioned the A/C unit at all. There quotes came in within $100 of each other and were thousands less Doctor Fix it.

I feel so bad for anyone who is in a stressful situation of not having heat and falls for there manipulative and dishonest practices.

You got by $80 trip fee and thank god nothing else. I hope this review helps someone else from falling for there deception.

Doctor Fix It charged me $2100 to install one ceiling fan. Stupidly, I did not shop around.

I later had TWO ceiling fans installed for $950. I called Dr. Fix It to ask about the HUGE difference in price, and they commented that I was paying for the exceptional service and warranty. Totally not worth it.

Shop around; these guys will rob you blind.

They did waive the $39 onsite quote fee when I called but the quote to remove my old sink and install new sink was absurd.  I had the new sink and faucet already.  They were going to charge me over $700 for replacement of the sink.  I ended up calling a local handy man to replace it.  He wanted to charge me $110 for 2 hours but it ended up only taking an hour so I got my sink installed for $55.  Save yourself money and look for local handyman services instead of spending 10x times what you should.  They don't give you prices over the phone even though the technician will scroll through a pre-priced database to get you a quote for exactly the same thing you could have explained over the phone.  It is ridiculous.

WOW! We hired Ben Franklin in 2009 when we completely renovated our home to update our plumbing. We just called Ben Franklin/Doctor Fix-it because we are selling our home and the inspection turned up some issues in the crawl space we were unaware of. The service manager came out to inspect and had a service tech out the same day to resolve the issue.

The new owner of Doctor Fix-it is all about customer service and doing things the right way. That's why I'm taking the time to write this review.

FANTASTIC!

You would think I would learn. Got a water heater replacement at the last minutes, it had been a while so I was not sure the price and trusted these people. Big mistakes, talking to friends and getting quotes, they charged me about 50% more than the going rate and what my friends paid for the same service. When I called for an explanation, they would not break out labor and the cost of materials, which should indicate what type of operation these guys are running. Seriously, who does not break out materials and labor, pretty shady. They tried to defend their high prices due to their warranties. Great thanks, and extra $700 for a 6 year warranty on a water heater last 15 years.

And the furnace they tried to pressure me to replace 2 years ago, is working like a champ. My guess is there techs (who are really nice) are working on commission. But nice techs are not worth the 50% up charge.

Plus, they pulled a permit without asking me on replacing a water heater, which apparently no one else I talked to would do unless replacing a gas line or something major. Now I am forced to schedule an inspection, which I am sure will waste at least another hour of my time.

Had a plumber from the local Doctor Fix It come to my home today for a few repairs.  I needed a 1-inch ball valve with a drain replaced that leads to the sprinkler line.  This is a $20 part (max).  There might have been a need to cut a Pex line back and put in a new coupler.  Maybe that brings it up to $35 in parts.  I'd estimate labor at 1 hour (2 hours max if he ran into trouble).  The quote was $966.  They did offer a $120 service plan that would lower the price by 15%.

The tech also kept pushing a new outdoor sprinkler valve, even though I repeatedly told him it was protected with heat tape and was not damaged.  That was quoted at $1927.  I've installed one of those myself before.  Parts were about $120 and it took less than 2 hours.

I also had a PVC pipe coupling that serves as a furnace vent that needed sealing.  The furnace repairman forgot to do it.  This would literally be a 10 minute job involving primer and cement.  He quoted me almost $200 for that job.  That basically equates to a $1000/hr rate.

I paid the $79 visit fee an said no thanks.  I will say the tech was very polite and professional.  It's not his fault he was forced to quote so high.

Very friendly and very fast. Called and got next day service. The technician Drilon was knowledgeable and friendly. I had one toilet that seemed to be leaking on the first floor, and I could see some water damage on the first floor ceiling in two places below the upstairs bathrooms. All three toilets needed to be reset, and the flanges needed to be rebuilt. I also discovered that the upstairs bathroom tub overflow had a leak, so Drilon created an access panel from the adjacent wall in the bedroom and repaired that leak. Again, very fast, work looks well done. The only problem was the price coming in at almost $2,500. Made me wish I was a plumber so I could earn about $800 an hour! Doctor Fix-it uses fixed-rate pricing which I like in a sense because everything is straightforward. On the other hand, the work for each toilet was about $650 and even if it took Drilon TWICE as long, that's over $300 per hour.

We have spent a lot of time with the Doctor Fix It crew over the last few weeks and I have been very impressed with their professionalism. We recently bought an old house that needed everything done on it: HVAC, plumbing, electric... Everyone that came to our house was really friendly, took care to keep my home clean and were also conscientious about my small children, making sure to keep doors, gates, and child-proof mechanisms in place. All of them were very knowledgeable and took time to teach me about the systems they were working on. They explained everything they were doing, gave us several options at different price points, and were great about answering all of our questions.

I'm not going to lie, the prices are a little higher at Dr. Fix It than some other places we looked at; however, everyone here is certified, all the things they installed had warranties, and I have been swindled in the past by handy men who get the job done, but not to code. Plus, with all the work we were having done, it was nice to have the dispatch team coordinate everybody's schedules for us. Because we have an old house, there were definitely some surprises with the electric and plumbing and we had some issues even after the work was done. But, their team came back at no charge to make sure everything was fixed and working well. They even answered phone calls from us after the work was done to explain some maintenance and other aspects of our system that we had questions about after the fact. We were really pleased to have Dave work on or HVAC, Justin and Noah work on our plumbing, and Ryan and Luke do our electric (and Robin and Alicia from dispatch). Everyone was fantastic.

Contacted Doctor Fix-It because my garbage disposal was backing up into my dishwasher.  David called to let me know he was running a little late due to trouble with the company truck, which was no problem at all but I appreciated him letting me know.  Even with the delay, he still made it to my house within the two hour window I was quoted when I set up the appointment.  David put on booties right when he got inside my front door.  I explained my problem and he got to work on a fix. He was very friendly and knowledgeable, worked and cleaned up quickly.  I would absolutely use Doctor Fix-It again!

Another Dissatisfied customer.
I will give a small shout out to the employees who actually came to our house today-Rodrigo and Chris--although my guess is that they will figure out that they are constantly apologizing for the poor customer service of their company and will move on soon.
Unfortunately, we didn't read Yelp reviews before we bought a new furnace from Doctor Fix-It . Overpaid with horrible customer service to boot once they received our money. They threw in a free duct cleaning which was a joke as an incentive before we paid. Once we paid, we tried to schedule for the duct cleaning and they cancelled 3 times on us (but only after we rescheduled our day and was waiting on them to show up.) Today was Day#4 of trying to get our free duct cleaning. We were scheduled for first customer of the day at 8am.  By 8:20am, I called only to learn that they are running about a hour behind. How is that even possible when  we are supposed to be their first customers today? Seriously.
Learn from our mistake and stay far far away.

I GOT A SECOND OPINION AND GUESS WHAT THEY SAID...

Dr Fix it came out to fix my A/C unit and without actually inspecting the unit, concluded it had a refrigerant leak. They quoted me $800 for a temporary fix and said they would credit it towards a new unit if the unit broke again. Believing them, I scheduled the fix but decided to get a second opinion because of the price. The second guy (Bryan at 1st Call Heating & Air, Inc.) explained why Dr. Fix It's tech was completely wrong. In fact, the only issue was an incorrect filter, which he fixed in 2 minutes. Bryan also said $800 was WAY over market for what they were going to do. In the end, Dr Fix it did a horrible inspection, lied about the issue, and wanted to charge WAY WAY over market. Go with someone else (1st Call Heating & Air, Inc. was great!!)

Wow!  These guys are GREAT.  Our furnace went out, and after we tried to do a little troubleshooting, we contacted the landlord and he called Doctor Fix-It.  We had two service calls in one day...Jared was our first service specialist, and he was prompt, courteous, and thorough.  He made sure I understood what had failed on our furnace, even made the extra effort to help me understand our system in general, and then presented us with straightforward pricing.  He called the landlord, the repair was authorized, the part was on his truck, and before we knew it, we had heat again!  What a friendly and efficient guy!

Our second rep was Marvin Q. for two plumbing repairs.  Again, fantasticly friendly, efficient, and thorough.  We had a broken pipe for the outdoor hose bib, which was a challenge...Marvin explained that he'd go in through an interior wall (I was dreading that they were going to have to bust out bricks to get to this one), and there were other pipes crammed into the small space.  But he figured out the best way to tackle it, and before we knew it, it was done.  On the second repair, we had a leaking hot water line in the basement ceiling.  It was a wacky configuration and hard to get to, but you could see the gears turning as he figured out the best way to handle it.  He was even super careful to make sure that water didn't spill on the concrete basement floor  (I told him it was okay, it was concrete!).  He also took the time to show us where our water main shutoff was, to tell us what to expect timewise for the hot water tank to heat back up...he was extremely thorough.  From talking with him we understand that he's spent years in the business.

I was impressed with the fact that there wasn't a lot of back and forth with Doctor Fix-It...the prices were standardized, presented well, and with a quick call to the landlord, payment was authorized and there was no waiting around.  That was unexpected.  Jared and Marvin seemed to be very autonomous...like the company trusts them and their judgement, which was nice.  It seemed like they didn't have to waste time trying to get approvals from a main office...they knew what needed to be done, and did it efficiently.   It seemed like they communicated well with our landlord, too.  The guys explained what had gone wrong in a very clear way.

Both Jared and Marvin were also great with our two black lab mix dogs...fairly young dogs who like to play.  Jared was very good with them, even putting up with them as they stuck their noses in his bags and tried to help him fix the furnace.  Disco, our female, would not leave Marvin alone, and kept trying to lick his face.  Both guys were EXTREMELY patient with the dogs, and not once did they act annoyed.

We would recommend Doctor Fix-It highly, and I would expect from our experience that ALL of their guys are great...but we really enjoyed our experience with Marvin and Jared...the are extremely professional, and just really nice guys to work with.

We called for Air Conditioner service on 6/28/2013, a Friday. The soonest available appointment time they could offer was the following Monday, 7/1/2013 between 10am-12pm. Monday the 1st  at 10am comes around we receive a call from the receptionist needing to reschedule. We reschedule for Tuesday, 7/2/2013 at the same time. Tuesday the 2nd, they call and need to reschedule for 3-5pm. Eventually no technician arrives at our house or even calls to say they're not coming. Second call, eh, not so successful. Whomever took the call somehow understood that I needed a sink installed instead of needing to replace 2 bathroom faucets (though I told her they'd been here a few days prior & knew the issue). She called again w/ questions about where the sink was that needed to be installed (cripes!).

Then, the tech called--same guy who'd been here--& again asked about the sinks I needed installed. (Is this a humorous documentary about plumbing or something?) When I told him the issue and reminded him that he'd BEEN HERE a few days prior, he promptly quoted me, to replace 2 sink faucets that is ALREADY PURCHASED $484 EACH. Wow!

Seemed like a totally different company. Down from 5 to 3 stars because: WTF? Nearly one grand for an hour's work and no parts???

(Had them easily installed for $300...total. Perfectly fine, easy job.)

Plumbing companies: mysteries...enigmas...mysteries wrapped in the winding, clogged pipes of enigmas....
------------

Detlef was courteous and helpful and even showed me how to fix the hair/drain problem myself next time, What a difference from when I used Drain Genius 6 months ago.

(I'd left them a poor review, detailing everything that had gone wrong. The owner, Dwight, left me such a nasty, personally attacking, and scathing response that it frightened me into taking it down.)

Drain Genius used 2 guys who scratched the marble floor, didn't have their own buckets and put the pop up assembly on backwards!!! They also told me they weren't plumbers per se; just guys who operated the snake. Nice.

I'm so relieved to have found Dr. Fix-it. I'll definitely use them again.

Drilon came out to take a look at our water heater.  It was 18 months old and I had called GE first and they had me do initial trouble shooting.  It was partially disassembled when he arrived...so I expected the worst.  He listened.  Well.  He knew it was under warranty and knew I could order the parts. Since I was uncomfortable installing them, he is coming back tomorrow to do the work.

He didnt overcharge me, he didnt try and sell me something I dont need.  He just listened, dealt with the situation and helped me handle it fairly and honestly.  What more can you ask for when dealing with someone?

Had my water heater go out in my rental property on a Sunday. Hard to find someone to come on a Sunday so tried Doctor Fix-It. The water heater needed replacement. Chris was very knowledgeable and experienced, but when he gave me the $2,000 estimate for a 50 gal heater, my gut was screaming...Way too much. He brought it down to $1,700 after a long discussion, but now in hindsight (a day later) -- I realized I still paid WAY too much. Standard install for a new 50 gal is $1,200.

So BE CAREFUL. Good service but you will PAY for it!

While their employees are friendly and professional, I tend to have a hard time trusting their recommendations. I think they try to make things in your home sound in worse shape than they are in order to upsell you on new items and labor. For example, when they inspected my heater and vents, they said the heater was overworked, the venting was wrong and that the heater motor would probably fail and need replacing very soon. They quoted about $2000 for parts and labor. We got a second opinion from another company that said the heater motor was completely fine and the vents just needed a thorough cleaning.

Another employee of theirs tried to sell us on a $6000 water heater which we cannot possibly afford. They may do good work but I think they're also out there pitching products that people may not need.

Worst company ever! My furnace that was working fine last night quit in the middle of the night. Contrary to what technician stated no price was ever discussed or given on phone conversation. So far so good!  I called this morning and they sent Justin B to look at my furnace.  He was polite and nice.  He gave me my options and didn't pressure me to put the old furnace to sleep and buy a new one.  Since you never know what else could go wrong next winter, we decided that it would be best to replace her with a newer, younger model...we even upsold ourselves and decided on a new water heater at the same time.  Now the financing and paperwork has been completed and I am eagerly awaiting the next two technicians who will do the installation.

Dave Logan should be ashamed for endorsing this business!  I called about a leaky bathroom faucet, while the technician was here I also had him look at a slow draining sink.  He quoted me $524 to fix the drip and $188 to fix the slow drain.  He also said my water pressure was too high and I should probably replace the pressure regulator.... another $600.
I said that seemed excessive and let him be on his way.  I YouTube leaking faucet and was able to diagnose my problem myself and for a $40 part and about 20minutes labor took care of the problem myself.   FYI, I'm a girl!
$8 jug of drain cleaner cleared my slow moving drain.

I am actually thankful he quoted me such a ridiculous amount for the fix, that's the only reason I'm giving one star.  Otherwise , I would have actually paid a couple hundred to have them fix this , instead researching and figuring it out on my own.  Oh, ya and I'm also a valued customer with their Dr Fix it service plan.

Our A/C unit happened to go out a few days ago. Not good, considering Denver was attempting to have a heat wave roll through. I tried to remedy the problem myself by rinsing out the unit, but it proved to only be a temporary fix. After spending another day of sweating it out in the house, we hired Doctor Fix-it to hopefully solve our A/C issue.  They were able to have someone come out on Saturday (AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE) and when I explained the situation to the service tech, he seemed to know exactly what the fix would be.  Turned out he was right on and he was able to replace the part that day, as he had the part in his truck. We now have cool air flowing through the house and are looking at scheduling more services through Doctor Fix-It.

The company seems to be very fair with their prices and definitely lower than a few others we looked at in the area.  The service tech, Justin Morgan, was super knowledgeable, friendly, and let me follow him around to watch how an A/C unit is serviced.  I am a bit of a DIYer and enjoy working on my house, so being able to ask questions about HVAC and how to clean and service them improves my skills, but makes it so I can help them narrow the problem when I call.

We would highly recommend this company to anyone needing heating, cooling, plumbing, or electrical work!

I returned from a trip to find my furnace had stopped working. Doctor Fix It was able to send out a technician in a few hours and called prior to his arrival. Justin B. was courteous, placing booties over his work boots before entering my home. He found the problem quickly and pointed out other  problems with my system without exaggeration.  He was very professional and was able to band-aid my furnace for the time being. I'll definitely call them again.

Called Doctor Fix-it because my in-laws had used them.  It started out great.  David was putting on booties as I answered the door.  This was the first time I didn't have to request a service person to put on booties.

After discussing my options, I quickly pulled a toilet in my basement so that David could access the main line.  They will do it for a fee, but I have no problem doing it myself.  He rolled a red carpet cover down my stairs and set a tarp down where his machine would sit.  He was very careful not to hit any walls bringing in the equipment.

He then ran the cutters down the drain for the full 100'.  At one point it hit something, but he was able to keep it moving.  After backing out the cutter head, I emptied a washing machine full of water to flush the line.  David mentioned some items that would be helpful, such as a water alarm and a back flow ball for my floor drain.  He also discussed what I should do in the event of more clogs.

Over all it was a great experience and would recommend Doctor Fix-it.

Jose came out today for our annual check-up (part of a package we purchased when we had a new AC installed).  He came out to check the furnace, flush and inspect the water heater, and clean/inspect the AC unit.  Jose was very polite, called before coming, wore dust booties to keep the carpet clean, and spent almost two hours thoroughly checking everything.  He made several maintenance recommendations, but did not try to hard-sell anything.  This is key for us.  We understand things are going to need repairs and maintenance, but we're often reluctant to call out a tech for an inspection if they're going to recommend thousand of dollars to replace things because they may eventually break down.

Jose also took the time to explain the inner workings of our furnace including the areas that will eventually need to be replaced.  He gave us some great tips on furnace filters and how to quickly wash out our AC unit (turn off power to AC, then hose through the top to clean coils from within).

All in all a very thorough, no-pressure job of cleaning and inspection. And ALL of it was covered under the plan we purchased last year.

Additionally, Doctor Fixit proactively called us to say it was time for our annual inspection (I set up a reminding thinking they'd rather we forget about it).

**There is 1 caveat I should mention - the tech who came out the year before to do all this wasn't nearly as thorough...he was done in less than an hour.  So if you do use Dr. Fixit, request that they send Jose.***

Kudos all around.

We have been on the search for a quality, reasonably priced plumbing, hvac company as we have tried several larger companies and found them overpriced.  After seeing some good Yelp reviews, I decided to Call Doctor Fix-it.  Our air conditioner was running a bit odd, so I had a coupon out of the red plum flyer and called Doctor Fix-it.  I called on a Monday and nothing was available till Friday.  That was a bummer as it was a hot week.  They never called an hour ahead like they promised, so I called Friday morning when they did not show up.  They didn't seem like they knew I had an appointment, but sent someone out.  He was the HVAC manager.  He couldn't do the total inspection, but did a small cleaning of the air conditioner and said another technical/ certified HVAC guy would be out shortly as he was on his way from Parker and that was at 9:30 a.m.  He didn't show, and I called several times.  First they said he was getting parts, then a few hours later, they (the office) said he had a flat tire, then a few hours later, they said he needed parts again.  He showed up at 3 p.m. or so. I waited five hours!  Walter (the technician) came and was great!  If not for him, this would be a one star review.  He did a thorough cleaning and went out of his way for us. Apparently,  he did not have a flat tire by the way. He was outstanding in his work and professionalism.  I am not sure what is up with the office staff and how they schedule appointments. I think one hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing.  If you need air conditioning service, ask for Walter.  I may use them again, and if I do, hopefully the office will set the appointment correctly, and they will insure to make every effort to call ahead to confirm my appointment and make sure their technicians know the schedule correctly. FYI, this company used to be a Ben Franklin franchise.

Let me preface this by stating that I did not end up hiring Doctor Fix-It, they did not win a contract with their bid. I called Doctor Fix It a few weeks ago for a quote for a new A/C unit and a new electrical panel. They sent out two technicians to give a quote on the same day, which was convenient.

The first estimator was the electrician. He was extremely professional, very thorough and generally knew his stuff. I am not a novice when it comes to electrical work, so when I provided him with my preferred brand to go with for a new panel, he became very passionate to tell me that he didn't like that brand. I actually liked to see that because I believed he could educate me on reasons why he preferred a different brand. (His #1 brand was my second choice). If he had provided a favorable quote (more on that in the final paragraph) he likely would have gotten the contract.

The second technician was the HVAC guy. He was not very professional. He was not thorough and was pretty quick to walk through and spent less time looking at the current equipment than any other estimators. He was trying to recommend I replace the 3 YEAR OLD FURNACE because the top of the line AC equipment can't work with such crappy heating equipment. He looked at me and apparently decided that I wasn't going to be able to afford to pay for the work to be done. He quipped and asked me how I was going to be able to pay for the work to be done. I didn't need financing, and perhaps he was hoping I would say I needed it. Then he told me that whole AC system and electrical was going to run about $10k+. He said he would get together with the electrician and provide a package price, which would have been favorable for me.

I never heard back from either estimator. I received no quotes, no package deals, no financing offers, nothing. Apparently the second estimator decided I wasn't worth their time to even try to quote the relatively simple work. That being said, judging from the $10k+ price tag he was guessing, they are more than TWICE the price of nearly every single other estimate I've gotten. They get a rating of a 2 due to the polite and thorough electrician, the HVAC guy seriously drops the rating and the companies complete lack of providing an estimate does as well.

Seniors beware!  My friend and I have both used Dr Fix It with fairly good luck, however, today I referred my mother to them who is a senior.  They would not tell her the cost to install a toilet over the phone, so she had them come out and they wanted to charge well over $500.  That is absolutely outrageous when Home Depot will do it one for $149.  She then had to pay a $49 trip charge.  I am reporting them to the better business bureau and Denver Channel 7 as well.  They need to learn to be able to quote a price, even if it's just a ballpark estimate over the phone or not charge a trip fee.  Installing a new  toilet in a house that is not that old is not difficult and they should know exactly or pretty close to what it would cost.  Either way it seems like they wanted to take advantage of a senior citizen.  They have lost my business and my friends.

Jose arrived early at our house to diagnose a major problem with our AC unit. He was extremely courteous, making sure that our house stayed clean and also ensuring that when he discovered a problem that my baby wasn't nearby so as to protect his health. He walked me through all of the issues we were facing and explained the problems as many times as I needed to understand what was at stake. I really appreciated the time and attention he gave to our house, our furnace, and my family. I will recommend Dr. Fix-It, and especially Jose, to anyone.

Called them to come out and look at my water softener because I moved into a home and it didn't appear to be active.  After the appointment was setup, they called me and told me I'd have to wait a few more days because their current jobs were taking longer than expected - I said that's fine.  A guy came and looked at my softener in the crawl space for all of thirty seconds; saying oh it's kenmore, we don't deal with these.  You should call sears (who sold it) and see if it's still under warranty.  I don't want to mess with it because then we'll be liable for any problems.  He didn't charge me for the service visit.  I thought these pros were supposed to get their hands dirty and tell me what's going on?  If they don't work on a Kenmore, they could've asked me what softener it was on the phone.  I'm going to go with a smaller company next time.

DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE. Not only are their costs higher than compeitors in the area, they use high-pressure sales tactics and provide false information to sell more to their clients. They are not trust worthy and do not do their due diligence before telling you what you need to do/spend with them to get it up and running.

We had someone come out 1 day and service our AC since it seemed to not be working. The guy who came wasn't EPA certified so he couldn't even complete the work he was claiming was needed. We also overheard him on the phone telling someone he sold another fan. Definitely don't appreciate the language he decided to use.

The next day when he returns with another coworker, they decide to tell me that I now need a TXV valve replaced and doing so would increase my estimate to $2,800 (from ~$1,500), and at that point I should consider replacing my unit. I told them to please stop the work they were planning on doing so we can decide what to do next. They then stayed in my house for 5-10 minutes longer trying to call a supervisor over to my house ASAP so they could sell me the new unit. They were trying to pressure me into staying home so they could come over, and then requested that my husband and I both be present for the conversation. They eventually did leave....

Then I had a more reputable company come by and low and behold, OUR UNIT DOESNT EVEN HAVE A TXV valve! Unbelievable. Glad we didn't give this company any more of our business and have now found someone we can actually trust.

Work was satisfactory but cost was very high and estimate was not given for 2 of the 3 jobs requested. They charged $1300 for less than 4 hours of work by a plumber, and the cost was all labor according to the invoice. The supervisor who returned call about complaint was defensive and not helpful.

The work they did - great; the price - horrible.  A simple job of changing a line from 1/2 copper to a 3/8th line.  Unhooking an old dishwasher and installing a new one.  Then they stopped the toilet from leaking.  Did a great job, loved the work.  Did not enjoy the $1,000 price tag that came with it.  Felt pretty scammed, like James L did.  Definitely will not be using them again.

Our AC went out last night (on the hottest night ever) and I called Doctor Fix-It this morning and was able to make a same day appointment which was great. The technician who helped us out was Eric N. He was super nice and knowledgeable about our AC and answered all the questions I had, which were a lot. He offered us different options and understood that some were out of our budget. Air conditioning is definitely not cheap. Eric was able to replace one of the parts which got the AC up and running again. We will definitely be calling him again when we need any HVAC services. Also used the $50 yelp coupon.

Not happy with Dr fixit. They installed our furnace/ Central AC unit and at that time we were happy with them. But we paid extra for maintenance plan, and scheduled a tune-up and check over a month ago. They waited till the last day to tell us they can't come, that they had appointments from yesterday that they had to work on today and they will have to reschedule us for a month ahead. Time for a new furnace company.

Beyond happy with the service provided. Called them on a Monday for a backed up drain - they fit me in immediately the next day. Christian, our plumber was on time, friendly, fast and *EXTREMELY* kind to my elderly mother (who tends to ramble and tell stories) and answered all of her questions with patience and kindness. I was beyond grateful for his efficiency, patience, and kindness. The price was nominal (I'm talking $100 less than what I was quoted w/ another company). Will definitely be calling them for any future needs.

We had them out to snake our main drain and since he couldn't use the 3 inch blade he went with the 2 inch instead. Im not at all impressed with them, nor would I recommend them to anyone I know.

BEWARE... These guys are snake-oil salesman, not repairmen.

I wish I could give this company -10 stars. I'm writing this now as my responsibility to do my best to spread the word so people avoid them like the plague.

Dr Fix It furnace/HVAC technicians tried to charge me ~$3,700 while instilling me with an all-consuming sense of fear that my furnace was leaking gas and would start an electrical fire and burn my house down.

After I told them there's no way I could afford to pay that much & wanted a second opinion, they quickly offered to lower it to $1,500 (how effing kind).

This new offer came with the caveat that I must act right now on this one time only offer. They even tried to sell me on financing and wanted to push their fear tactics upon my wife to encourage me to buy.

This is scripted, fear mongering sales school tactics at their ugliest. Bunch of nonsense if you ask me.

Thankfully, I called a third-party in to evaluate my furnace and it turns out that I did not have the life-threatening leak they claimed.

In fact, the only work I needed was a thorough furnace cleaning. I paid $250 in the end rather than several thousand. It seems like Dr Fix It incentivizes their repairmen with commissions, who knows?? This whole business seems to operate on fear mongering. A BUNCH OF CROOKS if you ask me!!!! My 2¢, take it for what it's worth and save yourself thousands.

These guys are definitely courteous, but lacking in any type of follow-through. I called and asked for help on a something pretty specific: Please give me a quote on fixing our furnace exhaust pipe which was rusty, building condensation, and leaking. They sent someone out who was clearly not prepared. I paid him, he left, and told me I would have a quote within 24 hours. About an hour later, a dispatcher called me and said that I needed to have yet another technician -- this one would be a more advanced service person-- come out and look at the exhaust pipe. Ok, fine. So we made the appointment. Then no one showed up. When I finally called and asked why the guy was a no-show, I was told that I had cancelled the new appointment. No. We didn't cancel. In fact, I worked from home that day so I could see the guy. Then she told me that the original technician had tried to call me with a quote. Again, not true. No one called me with a quote. Eventually the original technician called with a quote -and basically just said that they couldn't do the work. Which is totally fine! But I really dislike how I had to chase these guys down for any information. And it feels like they cheated me out $39 because I specificially told them the problem on my initial phone call. And if they can't do the work, then just tell me. Don't waste 4 days of my time.

We wanted to have an attic fan installed. Technician only looked at electrical system. I asked if he wanted to inspect the venting in the attic because it is an old house and has minimal venting. He said no and that it isn't an issue. I'm no expert, but if you are trying to vent air from house into the attic, I'm pretty sure you need somewhere for the air to go. We have since had a more qualified company assess the situation and they confirmed that for an attic fan to be effective, we need to install new vents in the attic. It's pretty common sense actually.

Wait. wait.  Finally, call Dr. Fix-It who tells us that they don't have the equipment to do that today and we will have to reschedule.  As if we would actually use them again.  Took the day off from work to meet them there.  No show, no go. Called them for a garbage disposal that wasn't working . The tech came out and didn't even look in the garbage disposal and looked underneath the sink and said he would have to replace the unit because of its age.  Also, said the the plumbing lines were mismatched and he could replace all of them with matching lines.  The estimate ranged from $1,200 - $2,500. I told him that was way too much money and I paid the service charge . I had another company come out and they found a plastic bread tie was stuck in the blades and fixed it for the trip charge. I would not call them again

Today is second time I waited for a serviceman to come the annual AC checkup...they canceled the first appt on the same day....rescheduled again and today he never showed up.
not even on a dating site & I got stood up, dang.
Both times I had to stay home to wait for the person.

This time I was told that he came & I was not home....my front door was wide open & garage door open with car inside.....my doorbell did not ring, did not see a smiling face in my OPEN door saying hello....

so, now I called, they can't fit me until AUGUST ???? This is June.....
I had to have plumbing done a few months back, lines backed up and could not get anyone from Dr Fix it to come out, got another company after phones calls while I have water all over my house...it was a Sunday, now, anyone in this business KNOWS that stuff happens NOT during business hours....so....
NOTE:
I BOUGHT THE SERVICE YEARLY PLAN SO THAT YOU GET A DISCOUNT AND GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE..I paid money for the plan.....hhhmmmm...the furnace & AC health check is supposed to be every year for a reason.....
Just wonderful. Companies used to want customers and keep them, worth of mouth and good vibes and all of that....
I am so disappointed and discouraged. The lady asked if my AC unit was okay for now???  Really?? I am the lay person, they are the EXPERTS and they want me to tell THEM if my unit is fine?

BEWARE! This company wanted to charge us over $700 to install a very basic garbage disposal. We just bought our first home and so we are not super savvy with home repairs (at least not yet), but I was sticker shocked when the plumber told us it would cost over $700. Then he told us that all their competitors were about the same price, otherwise they would not be in business. This is simply not true. We went to Home Depot and bought a garbage disposal for $89 and installed it ourselves with basic tools (we needed to borrow a large wrench from the neighbor) and saved over $600! Even if we didn't install it ourselves, Home Depot offers an installation service for about $100. Boy, are we VERY GLAD we looked elsewhere!

I contacted Doctor-Fix-It for electrical work - I'm selling my house and needed the work done ASAP.

Brian was able to come the same day and give me an estimate.  Brian is very knowledgeable and was able to determine what needed to be done to install three GFCI outlets and what needed to be done to keep the electrical system up to code.

Brian was able to come and install the circuits the following Monday.  Once installed, he showed me what he did and explained what and why the items he installed.  He also showed how the new trippers in the electrical panel worked.

I will use Doctor-Fix-It in the future and I recommend them for your electrical needs..

We've used Doctor Fix It for multiple jobs, and each time they've been quick to respond, thorough with their work, and have gone the extra mile with their customer service.

In our most recent project, Jacob patiently took the time to answer a thousand questions about our electrical system, recommended options to improve safety and fit our budget, and thoroughly diagnosed a frustrating lighting issue. On top of all that, he was pleasant, professional, loved on our dog, and went out of his way to spotlessly clean up after his work. Thanks for everything!

We called them because our AC wasn't working. They were very nice and professional, and arrived promptly. He took a look at our AC unit, the electrical panel on the wall, and our furnace. He said he didn't know what was wrong with our AC unit and then proceeded to give us a quote for a new AC unit, new furnace, and new electrical panel. The total cost was $16,000! Yes, our current appliances are fairly old, but they work just fine and our AC unit is only 8 years old. I saw no need in throwing out appliances that are still working so we told him we would think about it. He then stated that our quote was only good for 48 hours, after that the price might go up....classic sales tactic to get you to spend an ungodly amount of money on something you don't need. I was under the impression that we were getting a repair man to come out and repair the AC unit (hence the name dr fix it), instead we got a salesman who knew nothing about repairing products, only selling them. Their name (Doctor Fix-It) implies that they're in the business of FIXING appliances, not selling expensive appliances in lieu of fixing perfectly good ones.

We never purchased anything from them but I still ended up on their mailing list. I have clicked the unsubscribe link every time I get an email, but the link is broken. I have responded to the email demanding to be removed from the mailing list - no results. I have now filed a complaint with the BBB and the FTC, hoping to see some results. Well I had a leaky faucet in the basement tub and I have an off brand nicer type of faucet so I expected to pay a couple hundred dollars. My estimate was $459 and if they had to replace the entire faucet because they couldn't find a part That it would be more like $1400. I got a referral from a friend because it sounded way too high and sure enough the guy was able to fix it in 20 minutes with a couple springs and Black washer type deals. $100 and done. When I found my water heater leaking and dead of old age I immediately called Doctor Fix it to come take a look at it because of the quality work they did for me in the past.   They came out and gave me a estimate and replaced it for right away.   All of the guys were very professional and polite, and they did a great job.   I'm very happy with the new tankless water heater they installed for me.

I would guess that the technicians work on a percent of what they charge.  I got an estimate to put 220V in the garage for an electric car of $5000.  I got another bid from one of the largest electrical companies in Denver of $1500.  I ultimately used an independent that was recommended on NextDoor for $600.

Called Doctor-Fix-It late afternoon on a Saturday and a technician was at our home within 30 minutes.  Walter was very professional and helpful.  Not only did he fix the problem and get us up and running with heat again quickly, but he was also extremely helpful in explaining what the problem was and what to look for if we have issues in the future. Two thumbs up!!!!

I called Dr. Fix It to come out and take a look at our a/c, it was not working properly. We were told we needed a new unit so we purchased one from them.  We were told we would receive a rebate for the unit that was installed not only from the first technician that was onsite but also by Ulysses, the Sales person/Project Manager (not sure of his exact title).  Although the rebate was not going to be in the amount I was initially quoted, it was supposed to have been a rebate of $500.  I was told the rebate would take a couple of months before I received it.  Well when I called to inquire on the status of the rebate I was then told I would not get a rebate because the unit we purchased did not qualify.  I was told several times, over and over again prior to and during the purchase that I would definitely get a rebate.  I was not called after the fact to tell me any different.

Also, I financed the a/c unit.  I was quoted one price by the sales guy but when I got the paperwork and payment info from the finance company the price was quite a bit more than what I was quoted.  Thank goodness I had the original paperwork to prove the original quoted price.

I am not sure what to think about this company...but I do wish now I had looked at other options for an a/c install.  However, it was in the heat of the Summer and I wanted to get a unit installed asap.  And, I will give them that...they do respond quickly but I should have taken a step back and checked into other companies because now I can say I don't know if I fully trust Dr. Fix It.

We've had a Dr. Fix-it membership the past 2 years.  Their people are polite and professional.  They come to do the work when expected.  Last year they inspected our furnace, did an electrical inspection and cleaned our water heater.  They found issues with the electrical and fixed them.  We paid them over $2,000.  However, I think their charges are excessive.  I don't know what the work they did costs elsewhere, but I became suspicious when I told them we couldn't get enough hot water into our shower.  It took them less than 5 min. to fix it - they just had to adjust the shower valve temperature control.  When I called them this year to inspect our furnace they covered it in full under our membership plan.  However, when I asked them how much it would cost to clean our tankless water heater they told me $399.  I can get that service for almost half the price elsewhere.

I called Doctor Fix-It because I had 3 plugs that needed to be fixed and I had a coupon for services so I thought I would give them a try.  They surpassed my expectations!   Justin and Terry came out the next day and did a great job of quickly and efficiently fixing the problem plugs.
My home is older, so they also gave me a very reasonable estimate to fix the wiring and pig tail the plugs in my home.
I will definitely have them come back and do more work on my home.

Unreliable! They missed 2 appointments that I had with them, First one was a no-show, no-call. For the second one, they called saying they couldn't make it because they had emergency calls come in. What about my emergency backed up sewer line? After that I called Jimmy Rooter and got them to come out as scheduled.

Had 3 technicians in the house at one time to repair a sink leak, flush the water heater, replace outlets and troubleshoot electrical box, and conduct periodic maintenance on the furnace.  All technicians were highly professional, worked quickly and explained in detail all repairs needed, along with causes of problems.  Wouldn't hesitate to use Doctor Fix-It again!

Dr. Fix it HVAC technician came to my house for regular check up.
When he looked at the furnace, he said the entire system must be replaced.
House was built in 2017 and furnace is the same age. I asked him if I should have the manufacturer's warranty.
He then quoted Manufacturer's deny the warranty, unless i kept up the annual checks with them (I checked with the manufacturer and I have warranty)
He told me that fixing it would be around $8000 and replacing it would be $25000, which he included some AC parts (Not the fan outside) without explanation.
He mentioned about 5 year 0% APR and showed the simple calculation by dividing $25000 by 60 months, which was $416.67 and told me to think of it as car payment.
He said if there's no 0% ARP, their current APR should be around 6%, which is lower than Home Mortgage rate and New Car APR which runs around 8% so this would be a great time to finance.
I asked him why the other technician from the same company couldn't locate the issue earlier, and he talked down on co-workers and said he knows more than them and they've done a terrible job.
He then gave me his cell phone number and told me to reach out to him personally or ask the office to have him as an installer since he knows better than others.
After he left, I called different HVAC vendors, because everything he said did not seem right.
Other three vendors came out and told me only thing I needed to change was the air-filter, because one I was using was too thick so the furnace wasn't getting enough airflow.
All the vendors said the price is unrealistic and one vendor was nice to provide the replacement cost just to prove it.
After assuring the furnace is fine, I reached out to Dr.Fix it three times, and yet I was not guided to speak to the right person.
This incident caused me $178 to call multiple vendors and wasted my entire day of me struggling to search for other vendors and scheduling the time so I don't overlap other vendors in my house.

After several failed attempts of fulfilling an advance made appointment and rescheduling, I now wonder if I paid them to fix my AC or just come to my house to put stickers all over the place asking for more money on things they actually don't repair. I was told all the same things I have heard in the past about AC air flow and blah blah. They absolutely did nothing and I feel took advantage of my wife who could only be here with the technician. For $200.00 dollars a consultation should have at least included a freon recharge or an attempt to clean the outside coils. I got some really great advertising all over my house for the money!! They did nothing. Told my wife about air flow and now I have had a frozen up AC for the past 2 weeks and standing water in my basement This wasn't my first time having an AC unit looked at and after talking about it with my wife I am really frustrated. Did you even check for leaks or did that get in the way of stickering up every item you repair in my home. Instead of talking, how about a little more doing. Come and bring a bottle of goo off to remove your stickers off everything and maybe not just change out the 1 month old air filter for $200.00. Be warned and make sure you are not just told what is wrong but actually receive some results. They seem to heavily advertise for repair service but not to sure repair is what actually takes place. The sticker on my fridge in the garage was a great touch as well!! Now for that AC you were here to fix???

Poor us we need a new air conditioning unit. So I called Dr. fix it and fellow named Dave came out and checked on the unit and said it's dead you need a new one it wasn't worth repair. Granted it is 22 years old and that's old so he sent a representative out and he gave us a bid for $11,500 clearly stating that we need A new furnace as well. Interesting that we need a new furnace because he didn't even look at the furnace! We had three other bids and no one suggested we needed a new furnace. Now in all fairness he did say he could retrofit for $6500 and new air conditioner to work with our furnace but sincerely didn't think that would be the way to go.he wanted to sell us both whether we needed it or not. He was a very nice guy been there for 12 years so he said, BUT BUYERS BEWARE.
Lucky for us we found Mountain Breezeway and in less than 24 hours we have a brand-new air conditioner and it is working perfectly with our existing furnace. Oh and the price was $4000!

Wow! They came to do a routine furnace check-up and quoted me over $5367 in repairs but suggested I needed a new furnace altogether. Our second opinion quoted $0 in repairs. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Have used Doctor Fix--It for both a plumbing and furnace problem in the last few months, they were here the same day and fixed the problem the same day! Both technicians were knowledgeable, and the plumbing tech gave me two options - no pressure- extremely satisfied with both jobs! Highly recommend Doctor Fix-it , have used Applewood Plumbing in the past, no problems with their work - but extremely over priced - will not use anyone but Doctor Fix - It again

After this review I decided to write in to TeamDaveLogan.com to share this information with them since they use Mr Logan's image on their advertisements.

They do have a specific address to send these comments to if you look on their website.

Have a rental unit and tenant reported AC was not working. Had tech Jose come out and he spent about 20 minutes determining unit was in critical condition. Kept telling me over and over that specific refrigerant is super expensive and will be de-commissioned in 2020. So whats a reasonable person to ask? 'How much will this cost me?'

That seemed to turn him off, he replied - giving a price over the phone is unprofessional and if anyone ever does that I should hang up on them right away. I responded to that crazy comment and he said maybe doctor fix it wasnt the company for me because all I cared about was price. I still thought it was reasonable to find out what a price was so I worked with a supervisor of theirs. He spent about a minute on an email and told me $9500 for a furnace/AC unit combo. Needless to say I didn't jump at that opportunity.

I had a second company come out for a second opinion. That tech said he found wiring that was put back in incorrect places and said it seemed to be a capacitor that needed to be replaced. That didn't fix the problem and turns out all the issue was, was a closed fire damper (no air flow). It has been close to a month and AC is working perfect.

Luckily I wasn't charged a diagnostic fee, I wouldn't have paid it. The technician was either completely unqualified or blatantly dishonest. On invoice said compressor, fan and capacitor were all bad: all inaccurate. I wrote a review on a different board and the response that came back from the company painted me as being a cheapskate slumlord. No sorries for recommending a needless and gouging replacement for a unit or a promise to look in to, just that I want band-aid fixes for my tenants.

1 star is too kind.

I actually had a different tech come out in the spring to fix a whistling noise on a faucet in a different rental on two showers. He spent 2 hours drilling in to my wall to fix a cartridge and when he got through the whistling persisted on first shower. He turned the faucet off real fast as to hide that his fix did not solve the issue. All that needed fixing was the filling spout in to the tub, he replaced that and said it was just to have 'everything looking new' and didn't charge me for it. Overall a $400 repair from a $15 part.

I fixed the whistling on the second shower myself a week later, that was a $13 part, the fill spout. I gave their plumber the benefit of the doubt on his mistake and my wasted money before calling them out for this AC problem in the summer. I should have known better

This is the first time we have used this company. We had a leak in our pipe under the kitchen sink. Connor the plumber that came to our house did a great job at replacing the pipe and the drain ring in our sink. We will certainly request him again.

Scheduled an appointment with this company to get an estimate for a new air conditioner.  After they rescheduled me and were incredibly late for the rescheduled appointment I should have seen the red flags.  When he told me he couldn't do the estimate without my husband present (a bold and insulting assumption this day-and-age), I became incredibly frustrated and told him that I was the decision maker (as I told the person on the phone when I scheduled the appointment) he refused to proceed and I kindly asked him to leave. This was after the technician bad mouthed other air-condition companies for being unprofessional.  A total waste of a day waiting around for this company, who in my opinion is completely unprofessional and archaic.  In my opinion they clearly want to do the high pressure sales tactic to convince the decision makers or the husbands to make a decision on the spot.

CROOKS!!!  they fixed an outside faucet for over 300.00 $, no not replace the faucet, but fix the faucet.  Nice enough technicians but crooks and exceedingly expensive.  I cannot believe that dave logan endorses these people. They continue to email me time and again, I have asked them repeatedly not to do that, today, I told them I would hire an attorney if I received any more solicitations from them, ROBIN, was extremely rude.  PLEASE FOLKS, DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.A COMPLETE NO STAR RATING FOR THIS HORRIBLE FIRM.

Hired them to come out and fix a burst pipe.  Came in under 24 hours, fixed the issue, working great.  Michael was extremely nice and easy to work with.
A bit pricey for 90 minutes of work, but thats plumbing in general!  The tech was also pulling rates from a book so there was clearly no inconsistencies i am worried about.
Overall, very satisfied

We had a dryer issue, called this company, technician came out to advise us that the previous homeowners must have wired things just to bypass the neutral and old dryers will continue to work. Upon further inspection my stove was done the same way. He provided us with several options on different things to fix the issue and also upgrade our old electrical to new to bring our house up to 2020 code and safety. We got a ton of work done and upgraded everything for a fair price. Technician Rodney Jeffers II was patient with my old house and it's wiring and issues, he was also patient with my requests, installed all my light fixtures, triple checked work completed by his team. I recommend this company, I have them coming back for more whole home heat, water heaters, and ac maintenance.

WARNING: this company will charge you a membership fee for regular service and THEY WILL NOT DELIVER. Perhaps this is because of our current staffing shortages, but they have refused to honor their contract now for over six months. Spend your money on a company with integrity! This company may be failing. Based on my recent call, it seemed they may be going out of business.

I notice they are running a $50 for $100 service special...DONT BUY IT . You won't get the service. Cheaper is only good if you get service.

I have been very pleased with all of the work that Dr Fix It has been doing for me since 2013. The work people that have come have been extremely professional, reliable and knowledgeable. The cost has been a bit more than I expected.
