Description
At Blue Sky Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric we strive to be the best part of your bad day. Our company has been family owned and operated for four generations. We trace our roots all the way back to 1916, when Archie Lanyon became a registered Colorado Master Plumber. Today, Archie's great-grandson Jesse continues to follow in his footsteps, bringing quality work, honest dealing, and unwavering dependability into the 21st century. Today, we are a full-service contractor, offering plumbing, heating, AC, and even electrical services to local homeowners. We serve the entire Denver Metro area, including the northern communities of Loveland, Fort Collins, and Longmont and everywhere in between!
HISTORY
Established in 1988.
When Archie Lanyon became a registered Master Plumber in 1916, he started a tradition. Three sons would become plumbers. Grandson Steve and great-grandson Jesse would take the trade into the 21st century with Archie's code of ethics as a basis for becoming a full-service contractor engaged in all phases of plumbing, heating, air conditioning and drain cleaning. Archie's son, Charles Lanyon relocated to Wheat Ridge in 1954 and started Lanyon Plumbing and Heating. In 1986, his son Steve began Blue Sky Plumbing & Heating, expanding the family's reach throughout Denver and neighboring front-range communities. Today, Steve lives only a few blocks away from the office and works alongside his own son, Jesse Lanyon. Although the business has changed quite a bit since the Lanyon's first began in the service business, their dedication to quality and customer focus is still as paramount today as it was back in 1916.

Eric was able to come out the next day after calling with a broken pipe due to freezing over the winter. He identified the issue quickly, provide me with a reasonable quote to confirm and fixed the issue that same morning. He also helped answer some other questions I had on other plumbing questions around the house. He was professional and knowledgeable and quick! I highly recommend not only Blue Sky, but Eric White specifically as a great plumber.
I really don't want to get into a ratings war, but need to clear up some issues brought up by Jesse, who was not there .
First issue of roots, tech never got to roots first night as he ran the line up vent pipe where it was sticking out of it with no cutting head
It was myself and the tech up on the roof looking for it, none found
Also take a good look at the picture of the broken head, does is seem it couldn't cut through a paper bag as old and warn out as it is
Tech could not attempt any cleaning of line as within first 15 minutes there, head of tool off, he never made it to the line.
Second issue: sewer was not backed up, toilet was flushing slowly, needless to say, following morning (remember metal head in line does nothing according to others) tech arrives with two large magnets and rope, goes into roof and sends them down pipe to see if he can retrieve said none important broken head
When this failed he took the heavy equipment to roof to try and push broken head through the line, once again failed
Despite the rumors that monstrous roots broke the head, at this point no attempts are for roots but all morning attempting to find said metal cutting head
Three: the 'other company spoken of which I wonder how others would know extent of their work, however after they used modern equipment like ground penetrating device they knew where the monstrous roots were
In fact they put a professional camera into complete line, and did video showing no need to pipe replacement.
I had the choice to remove the monstrous roots or just replace that with new PVC, which I chose PVC
Lastly and I could keep going, 4 hours that day looking for the unimportant broken piece, now ends up 10 hours, beat that.. as well saying service manager attempted in helping, guess what, not only do we have security cameras on our garage and home recording, we also record with ring door bell which in fact will show all time placements. The SD card has been saved for reference .
Regardless of me vs him, I would never do any kind of business with them them, however it is up to everyone to make their choices when it comes to using your money wisely.
Buyer beware...

$89 to arrive regardless (applied to the balance of the bill). No quote before arrival. No call when leaving as requested. Employee let him in (1.5 hours into the window even though we were told it would be in the beginning of window) and he did a diagnostic for 30 minutes instead of jetting restaurant drain as hired for explicity. Now employees are arriving - great. We already had two snakes in 7 days; we knew the diagnostic but he had to upsell the employee against his notes. He wanted THREE times the going rate per drain (19 quotes per drain in Denver area) - 3 times! We kicked him out for $150 and I had to pay the employee to be there for 2 hours to wait for him.
We are higher because you haven't seen what Blue Sky can do And we won't! Get OUT!
COMMUNICATION matters none to these guys. He was polite. But polite doesn't clear drains and doesn't qualify you to blatantly overcharge. Steer clear. How on EARTH does this company have good reviews? My experience was ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. Granted that is par for the course in the week of trying to get someone to do their job, on time, in the Denver-area of this industry. But sheesh. We just wanna work and we sell food not work on pipes. Brutal.
BEWARE!!!!
This is a company is scammers.
They have all the technicians as independent contractors making up prices
The company has a minimum that the technicians give them and anything more the technician makes.
So they lie, cheat, misrepresent and many not fully qualified to do the job
The came out for a job to certify the boiler was In working order for a home sale. They came back with a Forman and admitted the original person did a poor job.
They fixed it and then suggested a few things. I was going to use them but they wanted 1600 for a job that others quoted 3-500.
Hope this helps others to not be burned

Thanks for the great help! Dominique was good at fixing what needed fixed and he let me watch. I like to learn and he was great about letting me learn!!
WHAT A PAIN!!!
The furnace was not working and blinking a pressure code so we called Blue Sky. A kid by the name of Gage came out and spent a couple of hours, CUT A PIPE and still couldn't find the problem even with calling his supervisor numerous times. Gage told us they needed to come back with a camera to go on the roof and look down into the exhaust vent and that would be $300 without any repairs and charged us $200 to do nothing but cut our pipe and left it like that!
I then called Smith and Willis they came out and fixed it easily and they were baffled why the pipe was cut!
2 MONTHS LATER several phone calls and emails later they refunded my $200 and sent Gage out to put a coupling over the pipe! I sent him away and they sent another tech the next day who was also just going to do a coupling over it and my husband told him that was unacceptable so he FINALLY replaced the pipe!
Final note...both techs reeked of cigarettes!!!
Jeromy arrived on time and was fully prepared to replace my sump pump. He explained his approach and answered all 50 of my questions. He had supplies on hand and was quick to pick up more when unexpected issues came up. Jeromy was a pro who was able to diagnose the situation and fix it promptly. He was also very helpful when recommending other service providers suitable for restoring a basement flood. I will keep their contact information close at end!
Our outdoor spigot was leaking and frozen. The technician, Dylan, was prompt, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. He replaced the spigot and explained everything very clearly. Would definitely use Blue Sky and Dylan again
It appears that I went into the wrong field I should quit nursing and become my brothers apprentice to become a plumber, as it seems to pay around 600 dollars an hour for labor (give or take the $30-50 for parts), according to Blue Sky Plumbing.
I wanted to support a family business as I had a leak coming from my hot water heater and a company that according to my brother (who used to work there 5 years ago and is a Journeyman Plumber) was an honest, trustworthy company. I sadly did not have this experience.
The service slot was from 12-2 pm and I received a message saying they were possibly going to arrive after 2pm most likely, I understand that sH*t happens, and previous calls can run over so no biggie. The tech did arrive before 2 (1:44), so cool that was nice. When I led the tech down to the water heater in our basement and told him that the water heater was leaking a little from the bottom area and showed him where the insulation stuff was a little wet still, but that I had turned the water off. I asked him if he would like me to turn the water back on so he could see for himself. Which he replied no, and then proceeded to tell me that I needed a new water heater, and that the brand that I had (Rheem) was not great brand and notorious for leaking. I said that it was only 5 years old or so and he then said that they usually break around 5-6 years. I was like ok, this is going a different direction. I had even told the man on the phone when I made the appointment that my brother (a plumber remember) had thought that it was the drain valve most likely when I facetimed him and showed him the leak.
Had the Blue Sky tech seen the leak with the water turned on or even Touched the water heater himself I may have been more apt to trust what he was recommending. Which makes me feel bad for an elderly person, or any person really that would have just trusted what he said and gone ahead with the very expensive recommendation.
I told the tech all the previous information, and he said Oh I must have misunderstood you...ok I am still trying to give him the benefit of the doubt so he says he will fix the drain valve and I ask him how much it will be. He goes onto his iPad and pulls up an estimate/invoice which says $568.46 for the work. Being that I do not know pricing (and what average homeowner would) I signed it and an hour later or so I paid the invoice for $670.10 with the additional $59 added for the service call.
I called my brother to tell him what had been fixed and told him the cost. He said that I had paid way too much, that this should have cost me around $200. I believe he even called the owner of the company to ask about the pricing but did not receive a call back from him.
So, taking this all into consideration sadly, to say, I would never use this company again and I would advise that if you do use the company get a second opinion as I am lucky and have a brother that can advise me (sadly he moved out of state). If I didn't have that luxury, I would be waiting for a brand new hot water heater to be installed, and who knows how much that would cost at Blue Sky!

Jay was the technician that came to my home and worked on my plumbing issue. He was professional, hard-working, knowledgeable, and kept me informed on his progress.
I have used this company in the past and each time have been impressed with their employees. I highly recommend Blue Sky!!
Absolutely love Blue Sky Plumbing. I called on a Monday to schedule a water leak in bathroom and replacement kitchen faucet, came out Tuesday. The leak was quickly fixed but I knew my new faucet was going to be a pain due to a very tight fit for access and some obstruction involved but it turned out to be very successful install and love the concept of the one year guarantee if anything goes wrong. Thank you Blue Sky.

Jon was so nice and helpful, had great advice, was really knowledge and kind. We had a plumbing emergency and they were the only service who answered and set us up with an appointment that day. They have great communication and service. The price was good for a same day too and for them coming up to where we live. We will definitely be using them again.
Blue Sky offered a whole system electrical inspection at a reasonable fixed price. We set an appointment for the inspection and our electrician, Johnny, arrived on time. He did a very thorough check of every outlet, switch and panel. He found a couple of things that could be improved and gave me an estimate for that work. He was knowledgeable, professional and efficient and when he left I felt confident that the electric system at our house was safe and working properly.
Vince and Dustin were amazing! They handled a work-intensive A/C replacement perfectly. They were prompt, professional and respectful for the entire multi-day install. They started on time and finished on time. I also use Blue Sky for plumbing needs and have been continuously pleased with their service.
CHRISTOPHER ROWE located where we had a problem with outside wiring to our RING doorbell and found two wires that had not been capped and were shorting out the transformer. He quickly fixed the problem and also installed a new transformer. Great service all around. Great pricing as well.

My air conditioner stopped working Sunday night. The company responded quickly to my request for service. When Mario came out the next day he was knowledgeable and honest. He assessed the problem quickly, and fixed it. Sunce I was concerned about my capacitor, he checked it. Part of it had melted, so he replaced it and installed a part to help the
capacitor and the compressor. He said he could do that later if I couldn't afford it now. There was no pressure to do the extra work. Thanks Mario for being so thoughtful, kind, and professional.

Amazing company. I had them chasing an electrical problem in my basement for hours and hours. The power in my basement was completely out - not a breaker issue, not a GFI trip, just a mystery. They ran through all the options and got it back up and running with an ingenious solution. I otherwise would have been ripping out drywall all over the basement to track down the problem. Chris Rowe was tech. They came out a couple days later with 2 guys to close out the search and solution with no charge for day 2. I'm so impressed, they are my new electrician for ANY items I have.
My 25 year old house, decided it was time for a new water heater and
an ignition switch for my boiler. I had used Blue Sky, as a manager of rental properities. I decided to go back to what I have found to be honest and reliable work.
I asked Blue Sky to send me their most knowledgeable technician on boilers.
Mario, was indeed very knowledgeable and took care of all my issues with-in two long days. Mario, took the time to communicate, all the steps of the process. He also took great care in covering my hardwood floors and carpets, as there was a lot of stuff coming in and out of my house.
Mario is your guy if you have boiler problems.
The expense did indeed put a hole in my pocket. I do feel confident that the cost was reasonable and comparable if not better than the companies, I checked, prior to deciding on Blue Sky.
I will use and recommend Blue Sky again.
Hopefully it won't be for awhile.
Sky is the limit when it comes to Blue Sky, heating and plumbing. I had a bid 3 years ago for 13,500 to replace my boiler, ok fine. I just had another quote for the exact same work for 28,000 lol. The cost of everything has gone up, they say. I have to say yes it has but not enough to justify the quote I received. price gouging is strong here. I can't speak for their work. I'm sure they use top of the line contractors. If you decide to go with this company I would advise getting other quotes.

I used to use this company a while back and they seemed great, but last year (2022) used the for a small copper pipe repair in my garden and the work ended up being only 5 minutes and yet charged me $ 500! Told me they needed to cover to cost of the tool/crimper they used to do the fix. This is such a scam and now I will never use BLUE SKY and tell anyone looking for a plumbing HVAC co this story any chance I get. The repair guy actually waited another 5 minutes standing around to make it appear he put 10 mins into the job! Way to make a few more bucks at the sacrifice of your brand and reputation. I AM ONE OF THOSE THAT WILL REMEMBER, ALWAYS!

My basement flooded. I called them out and they charged me $154.00 just to show up on a Saturday. When he got here he said he can see whats going on with pump but it would cost another $300.00 just to look at it. I refused to pay that much for a diagnostic cause any other plumber would look at it free of charge. He was only at my house for 10 mins and didn't even look at what may be the issue and charged $154.00. Awful experience. I called another company and they showed up and looked at my pump for free. Don't waste your money on Blue Sky, seriously.

Had ceiling fan and interior light replaced. 2 guys showed up on time, extremely professional and work completed accurately and quickly.
Will use this company again.
We had major, emergency repair work done by Blue Sky. They responded quickly on a Sunday, then started and finished the work very quickly early in the week. We were without water until the problem was fixed so speed was important to us. The job was done, quickly, professionally, and completely. The price was fair and everyone was very good to deal with. Mason was in charge of our project and he could not have been better to deal with. From start to finish he dealt with our problem as if it was in his own home. We could not be happier with the service that Bluye Sky, and especially Mason provided us. We have used them before and we will use them again.
James changed out our old faucet, disposal button and soap dispenser this morning. He had to do extra work to get our old faucet out, but was persistent and professional dealing with the damaged part on the old faucet.
He was professional, friendly and definitely knew what he was doing!

*Run*! Don't walk away from this group. I called them for excess moisture. An employee named Ben comes out to inspect my unit. Without doing much inspection he immediately diagnosed a cracked heat exchange. He didn't even take a carbon monoxide reading let alone a visual inspection of the heat exchange. He told me that my only option was to replace the entire unit! For a little excess moisture lol. This dude wanted me to pay 15k. Turns out it was a $3 hose that had split when we changed the humidifier filter. This dude calls up his buddy to try and sell me on a whole new unit. This is a classic scam. As a consumer look out for these guys. They are not even being subtle about ripping you off.
DO NOT HIRE! Warning. CHECK REVIEWS FROM OTHER SOUCES! Save yourself long read and just trust this stranger , these guys will rob you for your time and money. OTHER REVIEWERS Had said the same ...They do SUB PAR work at inflated prices. They must spend all their money on marketing and zero on staff training/quality control. These guys will OVER CHARGE and not get job done, waste of time and money. Context:
My GF hired them in early 2019 for electrical East electrical job... but they overcharged like $522 for Fix relay outlets And change outlet on personal home. . One of my rental properties had a shower leak so under my name I purchased the $180 family plan for free diagnostics /waive trip fees and to receive 10-15% off of work. And had the guy come out... again job done but was a RIP OFF price of like $400 plus. After supposedly waiving trip fee
Waste of money rite ?
Joining the family would be a great deal if their pricing for electrical and plumbing work wasn't almost 50% more then Competitors . (Did not know that until too late)
I had them Work on 5-6 occasions (1 electrical 4-5 plumbing) between 3 properties . I had two rentals and one personal home. Now to the real DRAMA
I had clogged sewer on March 8th. I had to get an emergency visit because it was 5pm . Charge 450 for them to unclog toilet (that's with my family discount ) took the guy 2 hrs to show up .what kind of emergency service time is that ? I'm centrally located... 4 hrs of work later the toilet flushes with out backing up ... 10 hrs later it backs up again...
Too bad they didn't do the job correctly and had to come back ouT the next day . After i had to give them hell on the phone to stand behind their work .... Sorry renters that had No bathroom for two days...
In the following weeks I called 2 new plumbers/sewer repair contractors come out to scope line with camera and provide em quotes. Of course I wanted to give blue sky a chance to compete since you Know were family
i had one of their like right out of trade school money hungry estimators come out and he tried to charge me $250 to scope the line... keep in mind I already had another company scope 3 days before and I clearly , explained the points of root entry... I had two contractors do his Exact job before him so I literally spelled it out for him what I needed. Of course he never gave me quote because I would let them scope line / charge me.
Fast forward to April 14 or something I have this Money hungry estimator come out again excuse i told him, I want a written quote , you never gave me one before . I want to cancel some Airbnb reservations and show Airbnb I have a sewer that needs repair . And again I'm part of the family . So write me a quote money hungry estimator... well he said will do ! 6 days later no quote no call, hmmm weird , what's waste of time ... so I reach out ./. Managers have No idea why he never Gave quote... two days later I get a call with a whack explanation , how it take two full business days for a two minute convo , i don't know . They are slow and get paid hourly ....
Well , their estimator told manager i told him i already got cheaper verbal quotes From two contractors so why waste time Writing my quote , even though I paid $180 just to have them come out and estimate , evaluate , QUOTE which most companies do for free ... I'm like .... you guys are the biggest waste of time ever I'm writing a horrible review , so here I am ... writing honest review of my horrible experience . On every review board possible .
Amazing company that truly cares about the customer. I just moved into a new house and had to get some pretty significant work done to the plumbing. Mike and Mitch were incredible throughout the entire process. Not only did they do great work installing all new pipes, but they were just so incredibly kind and courteous the whole time. They just went above and beyond any expectation I had. They did such a good job so I am sure I won't have issues for a long time, but honestly I am going to miss them!
Because of Mike and Mitch, I ended up booking more work with the other trades that Blue Sky does. I have no doubt in my mind they will go well. 10/10.
I've been using Blue Sky for all my plumbing, hvac, and electric needs for sometime now. I've been through the wringer with several other firms none of which are nearly as prompt, courteous, professional as Blue Sky, nor is there work as good.
The technician William who was dispatched to install our smart home thermostat as great. He contacted me prior to ask if coming 30 min before my appointment window was acceptable and it most certainly was and was appreciated. He worked with us to find a compatible thermostat which was involved as we have an electric heat pump and air conditioner which limited our options. He was patient, and was very committed to our satisfaction. He was instrumental in ensuring that the blue tooth aspect was recognized by our internet service and walked me through the phone app. He was committed to ensuring success and was happy to provide the education on the device as needed. Thank you for a job well done and for the excellent customer service.

I am editing my review below and changing it to five stars because the office reached out to me, and they were willing to cut me a check for my refund and drive it over to my home instead of making me wait until the credit card company credited my account. I realize that things happen, and it's what people do about what happens that matters to me. So, as I said below the people doing the work were stellar. And now I'm happy with the way the office handled the refund issue.
Previous review:
I recently had central air installed in my home, and I was VERY happy with everyone who worked on it. Chris, Omar, Troy, and John were awesome. I was bummed when the first electrician found that I needed either a new electrical panel or a new sub-panel, which would cost me a lot more. Fortunately, when John came to install the new sub-panel, he found that what I had was actually fine. BUT... the company requires 1/2 down, so I had already paid them $1500, and now, two and a half weeks after John's visit, and after I have called the office bugging them, I received an email saying that they have finally issued my refund, but it will take another 5 - 10 business days for it to go through on my end, meaning that, hopefully, nearly a month after we found I didn't need the panel, I will finally receive my refund. I am not happy about that. In summary, excellent people working in the field, but not stellar service from the office.
I had some issues with the billing process with the plumbers who came to the house. I contacted customer service and they had the owner, Jesse Lanyon, reach out to me. He resolved the issue.
I used to use Blue Sky for my plumbing problems, but never again. They sold me a very expensive hot water heater, that was above & beyond what I needed, but when questioned, they told me it was well worth it for it had a lifetime warranty. I fortunately am one to save all paper work, so when it started leaking 14 years later, I called Blue Sky. They told me it was no longer under warranty. I asked to have the owner call me, but after 4 requests & never receiving a return call, I gave up. I contacted another plumbing company, submitted the paper work to the manufacturer, & received a new, expensive hot water heater. The purchased hot water heater from Blue Sky did in fact have a lifetime warranty (as long as one does NOT deal with Blue Sky)! They did not want to be bothered for they saw no profit in it for them, & obviously did not want to honor their previous contract. I would never use Blue Sky. They are disreputable.
James came out to give me an estimate on a water pressure regulator valve and replacement of a failed expansion tank. He spent time explaining it all and the estimate was very reasonable. i called in to authorize the job and the next day James was out to do it. it was so fast that renters didn't have time to move a futon that was in the way. James helped me move that. mt window given was 12-1 and James was here just a little before 12 . nicest guy. had me come down and look at what was done and thoroughly explained it all. Even wrote on the expansion tank the date it was installed and the now current psi which now confirms to code. Appreciate the prompt service and the professionalism of James and the company. Very pleased with the price and work done. of

Ben was really helpful, diagnosing and fixing our current problem (A/C system down) as well as giving us help in devising a longer term plan for an upgrade. He is the kind of pro that brings us back to Blue Sky again and again!
I do not recommend this company for repairing swamp coolers. The gentlemen came over to take a look at the coolers and said I would need a new pump, which was not true. He wanted me to purchase a new one for several hundred dollars. I went outdoors a couple of hours after he left, and I was surprised to find the water coming out of the pipes leading to the cooler. I can't believe a plumber would leave my back porch in such a condition. I had to fix the leak myself. The swamp cooler was not even cleaned out with dirty water still in the swamp cooler. After speaking to my neighbor who looked at the cooler and low and behold, he was able to get it going. The plumber installed a floater and charged me $427. A floater at Home Depot costs $15 dollars. There was nothing wrong with the pump, which he wanted me to purchase for $505. I will never do business with this company ever again.
Blue Sky installed a new furnace/AC unit for me. I couldn't be happier. The cost was reasonable, they took care of everything in house, including new duct work. The crew of Omar and Troy were exceptional. Professional, efficient, good communication, reliable, on time, hard working and pleasant. Brenda was also very responsive, helpful and pleasant. I would highly recommend Blue Sky and will always use them for any plumbing, electrical or any of their services.
blue sky was amazing!!! our ac stopped working last summer, over the last 7 months we have probably had 8 different AC companies out. every company told us we needed a full new system, with quotes ranging 20-30k. we heard different advice from every company who bashed the priors. our current system was great, but stopped blowing cold air. it appears our space pack/unico? is a rare system and many were unfamiliar with and wouldn't even budge when we asked to repair our current system. Daniel came over, looked at our vents, and knew exactly what they were., first impression- we were impressed. he was the salesman, and he didn't sell us on a new system like the rest- he ran some tests on our outdoor unit and said it simply needed a few replacements. paul then came over and fixed everything within an hour or two, and under 1,000 dollars!!!! we are so so happy and impressed with the knowledge and honesty of blue sky!!!
We unexpectedly had some water heater issues that partially flooded our basement a day before leaving for vacation. Isiah came over, took inventory of the issue and then had a fair and honest conversation with me about our options for either fixing or replacing it. We ultimately decided to replace it and Isaiah promptly priced it out and then drove to the warehouse to get everything we needed. He came back to the house around 5 pm and was there replacing it until 10:30 pm! His upbeat attitude and willingness to get it replaced before we left for our trip gave us such peace of mind. Isiah is a a true gem and solidified our trust in Blue Sky. THANK YOU!
Years and years ago I had a bad experience, and didn't intend to try this vendor again. However, we had an emergency and our regular plumber couldn't get out. It was a frozen pipe and many, many customers were stuck like we were. Our tenant got the water to the house shut off and the Blue Sky plumber arrived the next morning. He did a terrific job, was timely, and very competent. We could not have been happier.
So, my thanks to Jessie and the Blue Sky team for getting us in and being able to return our house to workable. We will use them again in the future.

I was recommended to Blue Sky by both my insurance agent and Restoration company when it was apparent that we had a water leak in the house which was not immediately detected snd source difficult to find. At first I was not completely happy with the plumber sent in by BSP however BSP quickly rectified the service issues, sent in a new plumber who found the problem proficiently, fixed it and then proceeded to not charge me for the inconvenience of not finding leak the first time. Very professionally handled and now I'm a happy customer
UPDATE TWO, March 2021
I thought potential customers of this company would appreciate an update to our shady and outright dishonest experience with Blue Sky in 2015. So, for 5 years after we supposedly had a cracked heat exchanger on our furnace that needed to be replaced immediately, we continued to survive in our house, using the same furnace! In fact, our son made it from 3 years old to 8 years old, without Carbon Monoxide poisoning! Further, our carbon monoxide detectors never once went off in those 5 years. SHOCKING!
We continued to have our furnace cleaned and serviced every year, and sold our house in November 2020. The buyers had the furnace inspected prior to closing with no issues noted.
I find what Blue Sky did to us offensive, and so should you. Blue Sky preys on homeowners and invents issues to sell new furnaces. End of story!

I called on a Sunday (horrible rates) because I had a plumbing leak on the top floor that was damaging the main floor ceiling. L.D. came out and walked around and said 'Don't worry, it's not a supply line issue. It's a drain issue and we can find it on a weekday. He charged me almost $250 and left. The next morning the supply line to the toilet (which I had told him I suspected) burst underneath the floor and caused MAJOR damage to my house. Now the managers won't answer my call. Thanks for nothing, Blue Sky
We called Blue Sky last night at 6:50PM and then again at 8:53PM after not hearing from anyone. Our AC is out, we just got back to town, and we have guests staying with us for the night. I was assured that someone would be contacting us and setting something up shortly. It's now been over 16 hours and we still haven't heard a thing. I stayed up until about 2:00AM HOPING someone would call since they claim to be 24/7, and the woman I spoke with said she was forwarding to her supervisor. It seems that if you want someone to actually show up, it's best to go with a different company.
I appreciate your response, I definitely had my phone with me the whole evening and had my ringer all the way up. Unfortunately this lack of response resulted in us purchasing a new whole home system for $19,000, no financing involved.

I had used blue sky for routine maintenance on my HVAC system a little over a year ago. At the time I thought they had done a good job, they basically indicated that everything looked OK. However this week I had another company come out to clean my furnace. This company completely took apart my furnace, and showed me what had to be years worth of buildup of dirt, and debris inside the system. My fan wheel was completely packed with dirt. They informed me that the filter set up was totally wrong allowing dirt to get inside my furnace, and this is built up to a point it was restricting airflow through the system, and causing the furnace to overheat. This ongoing stress has probably taken years of life off my furnace. I remember paying over $100 for just a 30 minute visit, and obviously things were not maintenance correctly.
I just got the whole home Reme Halo air purification installed in my home in Denver. I am so psyched. Kris the tech came out and installed it on my furnace. He was professional, used hand sanitizer, booties and was extremely polite. I now have incredibly clean air flowing through my home. The Reme Halo kills 99% of germs and viruses on surfaces. This was a no brainer. Also got a 15% discount.

Gooood luck! These guys don't answer the phone. Our land lord had used them for years and we had w two of our rentals. They do provide great work. It's expensive as all get out. But they know their trade. Our most recent experience was a bit ridiculous. They claim to have 24-7 emergency service. We had our ac go out and we're told to try our best to get ahold of them as our land lords commercial have a card on file. We called and left about 25
Messages over the weekend and never did get a response. After loosing 149 lbs of elk meat and everything else in the deep freeze we contacted piper which came and fixed the ac which was throwing the breaker and causing the electrical issues. Needless to say blue sky is taking off!!!!! Highly recommend applewood and piper

If you don't want to read the details, here's the quick summary from a long-time customer that paid a premium for Blue Sky's annual service plan: this company has gone dramatically downhill and I highly recommend you look elsewhere for your heating needs.
Not sure if it is the latest generation of ownership, but our most recent experience with Blue Sky caused us to decide we will never do business with them again. Their expert technician came to look into an issue we were having with our heat and hot water. He determined we needed to do 3 things: replace a valve, replace a gauge, and relocate the intake and exhaust of our system because of a deck we recently built above the original intake/exhaust. He quoted all the work and I followed up to schedule the appointment to complete the 3 items. The day the technician came back, he informed me he could only complete 2 of the 3 items and would need to re-schedule for the 3rd. The first two items were completed without issue and we scheduled an additional visit for the intake/exhaust relocation.
The fateful day finally came and the same technician showed up with an apprentice to help him drill the necessary holes and run the new pipe for the intake/exhaust. Shortly after their arrival, the apprentice was wandering around looking confused. He told me that he didn't know where the technician was or what the plan was. Eventually, they got to work drilling through the first of the two walls they would need to drill through for the new pipes. After about an hour, the technician came out and told me they would need to charge me an extra $200 for the job. While not happy about being asked to pay $200 more than the original $1400 quote, I gave him the benefit of the doubt. They then left to get a bigger drill. They returned and spent the next 6 hours drilling 2 holes through a single 8-inch think concrete wall. At 5pm, the technician came out of the basement, and told me they had only managed to get through 1 of the 2 walls and would need to hire a core drilling company to complete the job. He said he would follow up with timing for that. So, postponed once again.
The next day, the technician called and said the core drilling company could be at our house the next week and that the additional cost to complete the job would be $900. I told the technician that almost doubling the cost of a job whose scope had not changed was unacceptable. I followed up with a call to Blue Sky's office and asked for the Service Manager. The person who answered told me he was in a meeting with the other managers and that he would call me back when he was out of that meeting. Four hours passed with no call, so I called back. This time I was forwarded to the Service Manager's voicemail. I left a message describing the situation and my frustration and asking him to return my call. 24 hours later and still no call, so I called Blue Sky's office to let them know that I would be going with another company (one that quoted the same original $1400 for the job) and would no longer be doing business with Blue Sky.
It's now been a week and I still have not heard from Blue Sky. I don't know if they have made a conscious decision to try to take advantage of their customers during the pandemic, but they clearly couldn't care less about retaining a long-term customer that was paying a premium for their annual service plan.
Buyer beware - this company combines incompetence (I've spoken to multiple other companies that have all said it was obvious a core drill was needed for the job) with dishonest sales practices.
This company is very expensive and if you do decide to use them on the bid they still charge you the $60 for the trip charge which most don't. they're just as bad as brothers Plumbing I recommend using a smaller outfit all I wanted was my heater and air conditioner cleaned he was going to cost me $359 plus another 60 for the trip charge I can get it done for $150. If it cost so much for the cleaning what if something was really wrong with it?
As President of our HOA, we have had Blue Sky Plumbing on our preferred vendor's list for several years. After my current experience of lack of response from management, I personally will not recommend them to anyone. Two of my three condo heat pumps are non-working and in need of replacement; most likely to the tune of $16k+. They were on-site 1/12 to diagnose and estimate; to date, no estimate has been provided. After repeatedly calling and asking for an estimate, I asked to escalate to a supervisor and/or an owner, still no estimate not even the courtesy of a phone call from management. Time to move on and find another preferred vendor to add to our resdiential high-rise list.

We have been long time customers of Blue Sky. That's why I wonder why it has been over a week and I have not heard from a supervisor regarding a poor job that was done Dec 29, even though I have called at least 4 times the week after the incident. We called to have our furnaces maintained and cleaned. When the tech was done he said everything was good and working. I paid about $500 for two heaters to be cleaned and maintained-they were in working condition but it had been a while since they were serviced. Three days later we noticed it was cold in the basement and realized there was no heat. When I called on January 2, they sent another tech out January 3. That tech cleaned the unit (it had not been done) and said the unit had been turned off and not turned back on. When he turned it on, it failed to start. I asked him for a written estimate on the repair and replacement and only got a ballpark cost for the repair, but no other written estimate. I called a second company to give me another opinion and they said the same part was broken and gave me prices to replace heater as well as repair it. I then tried to call Blue Sky January 3, 5, and 7. Each time I was told a work order was put in for a supervisor to call me within 24-48 hours. No one has ever called. I wanted to find out why the furnace was working when the first tech came out, but when he left it was turned off and when the second tech turned it back on, it was not working. I also wanted to find out why he didn't tell me it wasn't working, if he knew that. Also, if I could get my $240 back for the first tech not doing his job, and the furnace not working after he left when it was working the day he arrived. Granted, the second tech did clean the furnace and diagnosed the problem, but I have a lot of unanswered questions. My biggest issue is Blue Sky saying someone would call but never did and it's been over a week.
Not sure what happened with Blue Sky. They used to have pride about their customer service but I have been left in the dust-still with a cold basement and no estimate or explanation why a furnace was working and then not working after a tech serviced it, why he left it off, and why he did not at least clean it and remove dirt and debris. I also want to know why they did not provide any written estimate. It's like they are avoiding me and do not want to deal with a complaint. It's evident now that they are not interested in calling me and considering reimbursement for poor service. It's unfortunate that I can no longer give Blue Sky's name out to my large circle of friends-instead, I will relay this incidence. Is it worth the $240 to Blue Sky to lose a customer, as well as many other potential customers? This could have been avoided by one simple phone call from a supervisor, in a timely fashion. It would be wise for Blue Sky to change their system to take customer calls more seriously and not have the 24-48 hour call backs as protocol. In my case, it has been 8 days with no call back.

This company is the absolute worst. I was charged $1900.00 for them to reset a toilet, install a new flange and it appears replace a small amount of piping. They were supposed to clear the main line and they didn't even have a scope to do it. This was on December 30th. Claimed they cleaned the line enough where it should be good until Tuesday when they could get a scope out. Everything backed up and flooded the kitchen and bathroom on January 1st and they would not even answer an after hours page. I had to hire another plumber who came out and unclogged the main line without issue. I called them on Monday, January 3rd at 7AM and was supposed to get a call back from a supervisor Brian. No word from him so I called back around 4:30 and they claimed he was never given the message and would have someone else call me. Still have not heard a word from anyone. Terrible customer service and a complete rip off.

You know this was quite the experience! The worse experience ever. Being a single woman and having your furnace go out... DO NOT and I do mean DO NOT call this company! Horrible customer service on many occasions! Horrible just horrible!! I called this company out paid a $150 fee for an emergency dispatch and the tech came in and sat out in my furnace room and was talking on his phone the entire time acting as if he was trouble shooting my furnace to get it to work. He came in and said my mother board would need replaced so I said order it and let's get it fixed. Had a different tech come out to install the mother board two days later. And yes I had to pay for the mother board which was over $650+ dollars. Furnace was working when the tech left, however 5 hours later ended up failing in the same way I explained from the start. Same problem is existing. Same issue is occurring. Another tech comes out to diagnose the furnace and says that the filter I had was to thick and he replaced it with the one I should be using (Mav8) and said that the mother board was fried and that it was a bad switch that must of been the original issue and overlooked. They did replace the switch and the mother board at no extra cost however the heater still failed. They sent another technician out and this one hard wired my thermostat stating that was the issue. And that the furnace was overheating. He said he would call and have someone schedule me. No phone call to get on the schedule to get the furnace fixed I had to again call them. Called and talked to their manager Brian and he was a jerk and rude. Besides telling him that after leaving multiple messages I never got a call back previously and he was supposed to call me and failed to that himself. He did apologize however that changed real quick. He said he didn't like to hear that his customer service was bad.
Brian stated he would send another technician out however I had to wait until the next day and that he was going to come out himself, he also stated he was canceling the technician that was supposed to come out on the emergency call that was just dispatched out. I had to wait in the middle of a snow storm and at that time we had negative degree weather up here in the mountains. I can't go without heat. I paid them to diagnose and fix and they had no problem taking my money yet the same issues were occurring same symptoms same issues! And I have to wait.. nope Still no fix, after speaking with Brian and stating that this was unacceptable to have to wait when I spent the funds for an emergency service. In turn with being so frustrated with loosing money from my job now, he told me to fuck off and that he would refund my money. I said thank you and hung up the phone. 24 hours later my money was refunded! Thankfully!!
I called another company and they came out and diagnosed the furnace and said it was overheating however it was overheating due to the registers- not enough floor vents for proper ventilation and that it was a easy fix! Then he pointed out that the filter that was replaced (Mav8 filter) was the wrong one to replace with and that I needed a Mav4 or a Mav5 to provide the proper circulation within the unit. Funny because the filters I had before it was replaced in the unit was a Mav8 I figured out later after donating the full box of unused filters. Needless to say it was the wrong filter and the unit was overheating. Now the unit is fixed and it isn't overheating and no more issues! Tech installed a Mav5 filter. Sad I was sold a new motherboard that wasn't needed!
I did review previous reviews and thought that since they had some good reviews that I would give them a chance! NOPE!! Save yourself the migraine and unreal experience I had and find a different company! Trust me find a different company!
I have witnesses who heard Brian.. Trust me don't use this company even when reading their weak response to my review. This company just wants your money!!! I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone not even a homeless man! Don't use this company!! Horrible customer service and horrible management Brian and I am using his name for a reason! This company would get a Zero star however they don't let you do that! Have a good day Jesse as it's unfortunate that your company needs a full overhaul of new people!!! It was a Win for me to find a new company! Couldn't even put the correct filter in telling me mine was wrong and they in turn installed the very same filter that they took out. I guess you would call that hard to diagnose
People save your money and find a different company. As you can see not even Jesse wants to own his companies mistreatment and wants to smooth it over to seem as if the experience with this company was my fault and I was the one who was rude. I paid you... I'm a single woman that your company took advantage of. I'm not the only one, look at the reviews..Take those into consideration before calling this company!!
I'm legitimately confused by the other reviews below me because I had nothing but an exceptional experience with these guys. We had an issue with a recently installed furnace (from the person we bought the home from) and also needed a new A/C unit and everyone that we dealt with throughout the process was kind, professional, and responded promptly. I can't speak to price, but I was raised on the motto of you get what you pay for and I'd certainly prefer to pay a bit extra for better service and higher quality components.
I interacted with no less than 6 different people at Blue Sky and they were all so nice and eager to help. The individuals who were actually directly involved with taking a look at our unit and building out a quote for us were very up-front, honest, and clear about what the issue was, what needed to be remedied, and what they recommended. They also gave us multiple financing options to help us work within our budget and cash flow needs.
Also, from my personal experience, the owner of the company genuinely cares about the company, their customers, and everyone's satisfaction.
I would definitely recommend using Blue Sky and we've recommended them to any of our friends who have HVAC needs.
We had an emergency come up and had no electricity. Prior to incident we were informed 24/7 services would be available. However, during this incident we were told they wouldn't be able to come out for serval days which would obviously put anyone in a difficult situation. We counted on this company to be reliable and honest and they were a let down on all accounts.
I have never experience such price gouging. My evaporator cooler wasn't blowing air, called Blue Sky to take a look at it. The tech came out and quoted me 1,087.00 for a CRACKED BELT. What the hell absolutely not!!! Went to Home Depot and got the belt for the cooler for $6.97 and the cooler runs perfectly. The tech left screws out of my panels broken clips on the roof. He told me he was going to put the belt back the way it was and left it dangling in the cooler. I have pictures of this. I had people to this listen on the speaker phone to this conversation when he quoted me the price for the belt no one could believe what they heard. I get poor service and damage property and they got the nerve to charge me over a $200.00 fee. No I will gladly pay for your services but not for extortion. I am contacting the Attorney General on this matter and I am going to dispute this transaction with my credit card company. Shame on you Blue Sky. I think the problem solvers need to look into your business!!!

Below are the details of my experience working with Blue Sky in repair and maintenance of a boiler system:
9/21/2020: Tech visits to address lack of heating function to boiler, adjusts valve. I pay $59 for trip fee.
10/26/2020: Tech revisits as any issue that was present on 9/21 was not addressed or diagnosed properly. I pay $747.86, including an unauthorized charge of $149 to join the Blue Sky Family Plan. Tech runs full diagnosis and cleans, provides no warranty for work completed and tries upsell me on a wireless thermostat for $748.47.
11/1/2020: The problem has still not been fixed as the boiler is not providing hot water or adequate heating. I contact Blue Sky and as there is no warranty on the work completed they attempt to charge me a $95 trip fee for an outside of business hour appointment the following day, despite that fact that this would be a third trip from one of their technicians in less than 45 days.
For someone on the Family Plan I would expect a bit more willingness to be reasonable. I spent $552 in servicing a boiler that less than a week later was still not operating properly. This company not only is expensive but they could not complete the job and were unwilling to stand by the quality of work done by their technicians. I will never work with them again.
We decided to get an evaporative cooler and went with Blue Sky. While everything did not necessarily go as planned Jessie, the owner, worked to make things right which we appreciate! Also, the technicians were really nice and friendly with our dogs.

To start, I've hired many plumbers through the years so I'm no novice in home ownership. I hired these folks due to two recommendations from friends. They did show up on time and fixed the leak. Negatives: person that showed up acted like he was reading from a script. When I voiced shock at the price, he rattled off all the reasons why prices were higher. I told him to stop witht he sales pitch. As FYI, I looked up the price of the part on Home Depot afterwards and it was under $10. (They replaced the lavatory tubular trap and fittings.) I was charged $400.28 even after they took off the $59 trip charge, and it took him less than one hour to fix. That is an insane hourly price! I feel totally ripped off. While he was there, I asked if he could connect the little circular cap on my counter (where a sprayer had once been). He said he didn't know if he had the nut on hand. Then he left after fixing leak without checking for the nut or, if he did, without telling me he didn't have it.

I won't go into too much detail about my experience with this company but I will say that the sales manager acted very unprofessionally with me about a HUGE misunderstanding between them and my HOA. I had to stop him several times during our exchanges to ask him why he was being so rude to me. Not something that you would expect from a manager. The only saving grace from this company was Dan - their highly professional, very experienced lead installer that helped repair the mess that the first crew made. He deserves a major raise.
Editing based on comment below. My review actually has nothing to do with my HOA or really even the work that was done. It was based on the unprofessionalism by your company's sales manager. And now you!! WOW!
I never knew it was possible to have a favorite electrician until Ben Hawley. My husband and I bought a '50's ranch and the electrical was a mess, and in the garage, dangerous. Ben was so calm and competent. He worked diligently all day and had our house up to code. I would highly recommend Ben Hawley and Blue Sky.

Tech was on time and used appropriate ppe. He was extremely professional. He took the time to explain what he was doing. He left the work area as clean as he found it.
I was in need of repairs quickly and reasonably priced. I was referred to Blue Sky Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric and I was very satisfied with their service. I was able to get a technician out quickly and the job was done correctly and timely. I also had a great experience with the customer service. The team is very knowledgeable, responded to my inquiry quickly and worked with me to get the repairs done. The tech was professional and kept me informed of the process and what I can expect during the visit. I would definitely be using this team in the future and I would recommend them to anyone who is in need of these services. Thanks again team for all your help!
Our boiler stopped working over a weekend during the Coronavirus crisis. We had 2 different technicians come out - one on a Saturday night and one on Sunday. They were both knowledgeable and thorough, assessing the problem and providing great advice and excellent service.
We truly appreciate receiving prompt & professional service (especially on a weekend during COVID), and having trustworthy technicians come to address the various problems with our 26 year old boiler.
Thank you Blue Sky Plumbing & Heating!
What a Scam! BEWARE! Tech arrived a bit later that scheduled, 5 min diagnosis, $18 part, 35min total visit, $600. Called office for billing itemized breakdown, was told we roll all of our pricing into one number. So I mentioned the above scenario, as was told the additional cost was overhead. What service business does not itemize their pricing? One that SCAMS! On top of that the tech sold me on some 'Family Plan' another SCAM, insane! Service Manager has not returned my calls to refund the plan, typical of a dishonest company not willing to deal with dishonest practices. How does this owner sleep at night?!
Beware! Dishonest!
The drain from our kitchen sink to the main line was clogged. Blue Sky's licensed plumber tried to convince my wife to purchase a $430 basket strainer to correct the problem. She paid the $59 trip charge and sent them away.
We called a local drain service who unclogged our drain in under 15 minutes for less than half of Blue Sky's scam.
Integrity is super important in our choice of local contractors. We'll never use Blue Sky again and would encourage you do avoid them as well.

We had a water pressure problem. I was told up front that the fee to drive to my house was $119. Bob was very nice. Crawled under the house to check for leaks, put die in the toilet to check the same and then turned on the faucet to check pressure. All total it took about 30 min. to tell me it was most likely our pressure tank and we needed to call a well company. That 30 min was an extra $220. That works out to $440 an hour. Plus the $119 service fee. Maybe that's the going rate these days but it seemed really expensive to me.
I had an issue with my shower drain leaking under the bathtub and called Blue Sky. LD was the technician and he was awesome! He was able to make a repair without a major expense and my shower has never worked better. I'd highly recommend Blue Sky.
This company is completely unreliable. I set an appointment and no one showed. I called and they said the appointment was two days later than what I showed on my calendar although I had a confirming email saying the date I had was correct. I didn't argue and rearranged my schedule to be home two days later. Again no one showed. I called again and they said someone had tried to call me to reschedule because the technicians truck was broken down. But my phone showed I had no missed calls. I wanted them to service my boiler because they had installed it (at a cost of over $20,000) several years earlier. I remember now that the installation ran way behind schedule and was over budget. I will not deal with this company again.

I see now why this business gets mediocre ratings at best. Requested a tech come out and take a look at our furnace, it was kicking on and off and not coming to temp, just as we were planning to close on selling our home. This had happened before when the filter just needed replacing and the unit was starving for air (my fault). But it has been sometime since the unit got serviced; although after I replaced the filter it was working fine, we kept Blue Sky scheduled to come out and what we thought would be a visual inspection for $59. What we got was a guy who stood on the porch, convinced my wife that because we haven't had annual maintenance that it was going to be an additional $192, just to put his hands on the unit. Never got in the crawl space, spent about 5 minutes on my porch. This pandemic puts us all at the mercy of scheduling. Unfortunately I wasn't home, and this tech took advantage of my wife on a business call to tell her he couldn't look at or touch the furnace without paying another $200. This place will use the service call fee to determine whether or not they can profit off of your needs, and utilize the situation to the best of their ability not to actually help people. We had made an appt for these folks to come look at our new place that we closed on while all this was happening, after this interaction we promptly canceled the appt. Good luck with what you get with this company...

Three appointments. One was cancelled due to weather which is understandable (A/C Inspection). Last two were no call no show. I called after the 2 hour window on each appointment. The first time the tech went home ill. Second time they told me the appointment was scheduled a month later (had verified the appointment at an earlier time). Wonder if they're prioritizing calls? Maybe the higher priced appointments are bumping routine maintenance appointments. Called Swan Plumbing and they showed up and were very professional. They're in. Blue Sky is out.
These guys have always been way over priced, but now they are dishonest too. Late Friday afternoon I overtightened the fitting on my swamp cooler. It was hot, so we called blue sky to come and they said it would take an extra $100 after hours in addition to the $80 show up fee and then of course time ($180/hr). and materials. I had to leave for an appointment so left my wife in charge. They fixed the leaky fitting, but also decided that the swamp cooler needed a new float, which is $8.46 part. They charged $254.68 for the float. Total bill was almost $600 for just over an hour of work.
Run from these guys. Do not trust them.
They charge 'blue sky' prices. Most plumbers do, but these guys are over the top. They tried to justify it by being 'emergency' pricing on a Friday afternoon. I'll never use them again.
Absolutely horrible service and obscenely expensive. They installed a hot water heater which was ok, but a bit of a mess that I had to clean up upstairs where they installed it. However, they left me with a water hammer that rattles and slams my pipes every time the toilet is flushed, but they then claimed weeks later when I called about it that it was not their fault or their problem (and yes they would be happy to charge me a big fee to fix it). It did not exist before the hot water heater was installed. The manager was supposed to call me about this, but could never be bothered.
I also found, when I looked around in my crawl space to see if I could fix it myself, that they had ripped off all of the insulation around my vent to the furnace and also left that pile of insulation and all of their scraps for ME to clean up. Super expensive for the install because they knew I had few other choices, and then they wanted to charge me another huge fee to fix the water hammer that they created by not properly draining and testing the system after the hot water heater install.
Now I have a HUGE mess in my crawl space to clean up, I have to buy new insulation and re-wrap my venting and try to fix the water hammer myself since I am now so far in debt from the water heater that I simply can't afford to get it fixed by someone else. Very disappointed and disgusted in this and all of the other work they have done for me lately. I will not be using them again for anything since I am not interested in having my pocket picked (again) while they then leave me with a big mess to fix (again).
Note: tried calling the manager as noted below and he never called me back. Comments here are only for Yelp readers, apparently.
I requested Dylan from Blue Sky again, this time for a frozen pipe. Not only did Dylan show up right after a foot of snow fell, he was on-time!! Calling before his arrival. Dylan as usual repaired the burst pipe, but not after warning us there is the potential for additional locations. Sure enough, we have now multiple locations compromised! Once things warm up we will be requesting Dylan again. Great job Dylan!!
We had Blue Sky come on a Sunday when our boiler pump stopped working- Mario came to replace this and was courteous and did a good job at a fair price. I'm surprised to see the negative reviews here on Yelp- we've only used them once, but are considering them again for a bigger job

I have to agree with a number of others here on Yelp. I found my experience with Blue Sky pretty stressful. I had to learn a little bit so that I am not so gullible the next time. The original plumber sent to do the job was not what I expected to deal with in an experienced plumber. In short, he wasted a great deal of my time. Fortunately for Blue Sky, their owner does get involved and tries to rectify any problems. Jesse was a super nice guy and
did get a majority of the problem resolved. Unfortunately for Blue Sky, it
really was too little, too late. I had to take an additional vacation day to
have them come up a 2nd time. I still have a hole in our living room wall that we need to have repaired. If you ever use them, insist on Paul. He is the real deal. Very, very expensive for what they did, or tried to do. I will use Paul anytime. He would be the only one I would trust at my house.

They called me the day of the appointment and told me appointment fee was 119.00 not 59.00 due to where I live. I had been waiting two days to have my sewer line cleaned, what are you going to? I felt I had no choice. The technician didn't have a tracer ability to tell me where the line was. They have no cameras to use on your line. They couldn't unclog my line due to length, that's cool. But they told me they would send up more line , I said, great, but they ghosted me. I paid the tech for his attempt, the lady in the office said, she'd handle it, yet nothing. Her name was Sandy and I've still not heard from her. So, I would not use them and would like my money back.
Wish I could give them zero stars. Absolutely horrible customer service! The guys who came were decent, although overcharged me. They created an issue that didn't exist before. When I called to get this fixed she told me there was a $159 Service charge to come out on the weekend. When I told her that this was an issue created by them and didn't exist before she hung up on me. When I called back she said a supervisor would call me, I asked her when and again she hung up on me. Do NOT use this company!
$500 for 30 minutes and nothing was fixed. I told him the unit was already factory reset and that wouldn't fix the actual problem. He tried something for $500 that didn't work and then told me I would most likely need to cut into the ceiling to see what was wrong. Horrible service and way too expensive for doing nothing.

I'm so mad at these guys.
My friend's water heater went out. I know nothing about water heaters, but I can figure out how things work. After less than an hour of troubleshooting, I was pretty sure the control board was bad and needed to be replaced. I told my friend this but she wanted to go ahead and have it serviced by a professional.
My friend then brought in some monkey from Blue Sky - their technician - who SHOULD be trained to fix a water heater and therefore should be capable of diagnosing the issue in the same time or less than an untrained person. 9 hours later, after a bill MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE COST OF A NEW heater, the guy finally figured out the problem. And also charged my friend $150 to pick up the part.
Absolute rip off. Waste of over a thousand dollars. Unskilled person can do the job better. That is all.
Very fast response - they were at my house within two hours for a non-emergency call. Very nice and professional repair person, and the folks on the phone were great as well. Work was done fine, and they gave me quotes for future maintenance.
Their mark-ups seem a little high. They charged $650 to replace a $50 thermostat available at Ace Hardware. They also gave me a $1,700 quote to replace swamp cooler pads available for less than $100 at Home Depot. I'll shop around, maybe that's a normal markup. Or maybe this is one of those low rent places where you are supposed to haggle? That's not really my thing. Either way, I'll feel a bit exploited until I shop around.

First of all, the reply from the manager was extremely off putting even more. I would typically think a manager would try and make things right rather than saying I'm a liar. Seems like a poor way to handle feedback. Kids will be kids I guess!
Anyway we had our furnace go out and for some reason everyone we called with good overall reviews had no availability the same day and we really didn't wanna sleep in a 50*F house tonight.
I scheduled many appointments with multiple places and Blue Sky was one of them. Despite my previous experience, I needed heat so my priority was getting someone here as soon as possible.
I was able to get an appointment from another place in the afternoon, so I called a lot of places cancelling my appointments. Midway doing that, Blue Sky called and said there was a cancellation today and I can fill the spot. I had some hesitation, but I did it. Blue Sky would show up in sooner and they had a cheaper dispatch fee than the other. About an hour later, the lady called and said Danny was on his way to fix my heat. Sure enough he was here.
Danny had great customer service skills. Conversations other than just business, and was a good guy. He seemed more interested in me as a person than as a dollar sign. Shared interests in dogs, it was a good experience.
Though my first experience wasn't good, my second was great and most importantly, we have heat. I would do business with them again.
This problem was resolved by management.

I have used Blue Sky for years but when our AC went out a couple of weeks ago, they could not come out for 8 days. When they arrived, they asked for $59 service fee approval, which we gave. They went to look at the system and came back to ask for an additional $160 for a diagnostic fee. This fee would NOT apply to any repairs for a total before any work was done of $221.00. We approved and they then came back with an estimate. Compressor working fine (which we knew), but needed new metering device, new filter dryer, pump systems to EPA standards, and charging the system. Total of $2,941.00. We asked them to send estimate on email and they did with only codes and no idea what each code stood for. Checking with other AC firms, the metering device, filter and charging should be around $1,000 which means their labor was TRIPLE the cost of the parts.
I would never recommend Blue Sky again to anyone. They know when a homeowner is in need of immediate service and overcharge, as well as require diagnostic fees that they pocket. Be very aware of this scam!
I have called blue sky on two separate occasions. Today with an emergency. I did not receive a call back either time. I tried texting as suggested the second time. No response.
Good bye blue sky. You must not need the work.
o it actually pains me to write this review because I like to believe these guys are really good at what they do. I called to have a water line raised below my sink based on the recommendation of an inspector. Wilmer comes to the house (even earlier than originally planned) and takes a look. He tells me the line is already raised and no work is needed. I asked how much I need to pay and requested an invoice. Wilmer says he wouldn't charge me. Wow! Day 1 goes by nothing, day 2 goes by nothing. I call and leave a voicemail, no return call, I send a text, no return text, day 3 goes by nothing. My wife calls and he picks up and says he will send it to me. Another day goes by nothing. The thing is, while I appreciate not charging for work not done, I would have paid for his time and the invoice but they NEVER responded. Good luck with your experience.
Called for appointment to have my annual boiler cleaned. Was told it would be $59 just to come out. Then the plumber would determine how much it would cost after seeing my boiler & if there would be other repairs. No set fee for an annual cleaning. Boiler is 2 years old so there is nothing wrong with it. I immediately felt it was a set up to find something wrong & add on fees to the bill which up front for a basic cleaning & I had no idea what that would even cost. I asked the scheduler what a annual cleaning cost. She again beat around the bush & said until the plumber came out he would not know how much to charge me. Unbelievable! I said never mind I would call another company. 5 star rated company coming out next day ( she said it would be 3 weeks) & only charging $99. No service fee. No hidden costs. No surprise invented issues after coming out. There is a reason they have 2 1/2 stars. Do your homework & find a reputable company.

This past fall after receiving an email from Blue Sky Plumbing, I scheduled a routine furnace cleaning and tune-up by a technician. I have had satisfactory service from this company for many years. This fall was a NOTABLE exception.
The entire servic, from arrival to departure by the technician took less than 40 minutes: purportedly including a 22 point inspection, cleaning, part replacement and protracted online billing, payment and receipt process. At the end of this abbreviated service call I was presented with a bill for $545!! This included a 15% discount, by the way.
I subsequently learned that the part that was unnecessarily replaced in my furnace retails for $20.75.
I was left feeling completely violated and foolish. The technician preyed upon my ignorance and trust.
When I called the company after the technician left with questions about pricing, I was told that they do not line item charges and therefore could not provide me with a price for the part.
Thank goodness I resisted two other up selling suggestions because they seemed fundamentally unnecessary.
BUYER BEWARE
I am pleased to report that shortly after posting my less than complimentary review of Blue Sky Plumbing, I received a phone call from their Service Manager. After a lengthy discussion of my concerns and criticisms, he offered what I consider to be a more than fair resolution. Thank you, Brian, for taking the time to explain your billing process to me and for the compensation

In January our furnace went out. We have used Blue Sky for many years so, we thought of them first to come out and help us. Blue Sky's response time was incredibly quick which was great because this happened during a cold snap. Our furnace was more than 25 years old so, it needed replaced. Within a short period of time, Blue Sky installed our new furnace. All of the technicians were polite and knowledgable and they took great care to make sure the job didn't dirty up my home. We have always found their pricing to be fair and workmanship excellent and I would reccomend Blue Sky to anyone,
What an amazing company Blue Sky Plumming, Heating, and Cooling is. They work hard on your problems until they find the solution. We have a steam broiler that is over 100 year old and it broke down in below zero temperatures. We called several companys that came out and could not figure it out. They took one look and said wow we don't work on anything this old. They never once offered other solutions or any electric heaters to use during the frigited temperatures. That was the first thing that Blue Sky offered was heaters. That was such a act of human kindness that spoke volumes to the rest of their care for my family. The first tech Shay had difficulity at first they tring to figure. But, he worked long hours trying to give up. But the next day they sent out Bryan the Master Plummer that worked his magic. He is a 4th genernation plumber. In a short time he fixed it without a problems. They guarantee their work and offered a 2 year warranty. They even ended up giving us the first service and parts for free. This was because they could not figure it out the first day. This company is honest and so financially reasonable. They offered a senior discount and helped our family out. I am so thankful to them more than words could say. We are now going to be connected for life. From the time we called and talked to the secreary to schedule to the end we had a great experience. They also were Covid conscious in a pandemic. Highly recommend them for any pluming, heating or cooling needs. A blessing on a cold winter day.

I was very pleased with the service provided at Blue Sky Plumbing. We had scheduled a sewer cleaning, they showed up on time, and our plumber Troy was very nice and knowledgeable. He also gave great advice about other plumbing issues we had questions on. On top of that, price was reasonable. We will definitely be calling Blue Sky for our future plumbing and heating needs.
Eric did great work on several plumbing projects, fixed several leaks, moved a gas line and found a leak at my water heater that I didn't know was leaking when he went to check the gas was back on so I could have hot water tonight. Very professional company, I have had Eric come out twice in the last couple of months.

This is the second time I have used Blue Sky, both times I have had a wonderful experience. Showed up in a timely manner, wonderful customer service, and fixed our issue immediately. Of course our AC goes out over the weekend which was coincidentally the hottest day of the year. I called for a Saturday appointment and they squeezed me in . And thank goodness... our house was already at 85 degrees and it was only 11:00 AM . Would highly recommend!
Honestly, we had a great experience with this company for our kitchen remodel. They were reasonable priced and timely on all their work. In addition, all work was performed with professionalism and care. Our plumber had been working with them for 8+ years and was not only knowledgeable, but friendly and even confirmed a few things before performing the work.
At the rough-in inspection the inspector advised a change needed to be done before we passed and our plumber came back out the next day and corrected the issue.
Final plumbing was great, everything was connected and we passed.
We also used them for our new a/c unit a few years back and did not have any issues or concerns.
One thing I would add is that their quotes need to be more detailed. Although we paid for and received all the work performed, we had to have them make the quote more detailed to ensure there were no issues in the end.

Awful. We are trying to sell our house. To get ahead of the game, we had our hvac inspected and cleaned before we listed. We've been at that house for 4 years and never had a problem. Not 4 hours after they came to clean and inspect, our AC stopped working. We called the number and left a message and someone called us back that night and told us our tech would call us in the morning. The tech did call us back and tried to diagnose the problem over the phone and what he said it was wasn't the problem but they were ready to quote us for an entire new AC without actually looking at it. We called again the next day, and we're on a time crunch because we're trying to sell the house. They said a tech wasn't available that day to come look until after hours. They said they would waive the after hours fee as long as the issue pertained to something they did. The after hours tech came out and not 5 minutes after he's been there, without actually looking at the unit outside or opening anything up, he swears up and down that the problem is the thermostat which had been working fine this whole time. How convenient that that didn't have to do with the original work so they could collect their after hours fee! We didn't know better so we agreed to the new thermostat Praying that would fix the problem and that STILL didn't solve the problem. Now we're out $1000 dollars with a broken AC in a house we're trying desperately to sell. Not to mention!: they're prices are astronomical! After the fact, I asked around and typically people pay about $200 for inspection and cleaning. They charged us $400 right out of the gate without even opening anything up. THEN they charged us another $500 for the after hours fee and the thermostat that we didn't need. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
Most of thier staff is great. We have used their services 5-6 times in the course of gutting and remodeling our home. Depending on who arrives to do service it's a hit or miss. For example, installing a tub and setting up new shower valves when we stripped the bathroom to studs was great. They did hook up our bathroom sink in a away that wouldn't let the vanity drawer close unfortunately. They did a great job helping us uncap a gas line and install our range. They did a great job fixing a leak in the kitchen sink plumbing. They extended waterlines for our washer and dryer, only later to have a different plumber from their company tell us it's not up to code.
We thought pricing was fare until recently when I was told their previous work wasn't up to code and it would be over $600 to change a dual hot and cold shower fixtures to a sigle one lever. I'd say 60/40 on greatness.
I contracted Blue Sky to install a new boiler. They did not bother to show up for the first appointment. I had them install the boiler only to find the I had an installation issue and was charged $1200 before the first year. I also found they added a venting system which was not necessary per Jefferson County. They also told me after the installation - I did not have enough radiators. Well they sized the boiler! In addition I had heating expert come in and he found they had not installed the zone valves properly nor had they separated the returns. I have spent over $2000 repairing their installation on a 4 year old system!
We had them install a propane detector. It had gone off 2 months ago, we called the fire department and they said no gas found, but suggested we call the installer. They came out reset it and serviced our furnace. It has happened again with no gas present and they said no techs available to walk us through the reset. They said they cannot come out for days! When this detector goes off, we loose all propane. NO furnace, no water heater, no stove, no fireplace etc.....
If you want customer service when YOU NEED it , DO NOT use this company!! We will never use them again!!! Horrible customer service as in NONE!!!
We had Blue Sky come to our house for a furnace cleaning and inspection. We also asked them to look at the hot water heater because it was old. While inspecting the furnace, they discovered a humidifier that was very dirty. With our approval, they charged $191 to clean. While cleaning, the tech broke the on/off switch that was connected to the hot water heater. He quoted another $190 to replace the switch that he broke or he would do it for free if he replaced the hot water heater. He quoted us $1795(install quote $2359) to replace the water heater that sells for $500 at Home Depot. When we declined, he said that his office would call about the repair. Fast forward 2.5 months- no call. I called 2 weeks ago and talked to Tim, the customer service manager and explained what happened. He said that he would research and give me back. He never called back. Very disappointed in Blue Sky.

Blue Sky was great! My boiler went out on our first cold day. They came out asap, and informed me that our boiler blower went out. Our boiler is only 1 1/2 years old but they informed me that it was covered under warranty. Jesse was very helpful and informative! They refunded us almost $600 for the part. I will definitely use them again.
Note: This is ONLY a review of the emergency dispatch system. Their technicians may be great.
Rely on Blue Sky 24/7 - I think not. My water heater went out late and was leaking all over the place and I had a trip to leave on the next morning. I called their emergency dispatch knowing they have a good reputation in town and left a message. They never called me back.
After a sleepless night hoping the phone would ring, I got up early and found another company who wanted the job.
I requested that my tub faucet be replaced and Blue Sky sent a tech that stated he fixed the problem, one week later it broke again, they sent out the same tech who was unable to find a replacement faucet( I purchased the same replacement and Blue sky sent out another tech who refused to replace the faucet , even though it was identical to the faulty faucet. After three attempts to repair the faucet and the time taken to be at the house to be told that the faucet could not be repaired without extensive modification that would cost 450 dollars more.
I have replaced the faucet myself and the tech who refused to install the same faucet was either lazy or incompetent. I feel that these techs are unwilling to do work that intails WORK
and are used to charging high prices for their convienence and cherry pick their jobs.
Beware if you deal with this company.
I refused to pay for attempts to fix my faucet.
I've used Blue Sky over the last 2 years for plumbing, air conditioning and hearing services. I finally used them the last time today for good . Their phone people are horrible, they never come when they say the will and make excuses constantly.
The owner, Jessie is just as bad- nothing is their fault- it's the traffic, other jobs mis-
Scheduled etc, etc. I had had to have techs come back twice because the job wasn't done fully right the first time- then guess what? You get to go on their scheduling merry go round all over again and miss work because they can't get their act together. Blue Sky is the right name for them because that's about all they provide - a bunch of BS.
This post is with regard to plumbing and not to HVAC service. We have had yellow hot water for months although the cold water is clear. (I do not like washing clothes, dishes, or myself in yellow water!) My husband thought Blue Sky would just tell us to get a new water heater, which we last purchased in 2013 so he first called the city who told him to drain the water heater and let it refill. He did this. Still yellow water! My husband called Blue Sky on Thursday, May 16, 2019 to schedule a service call. The next day he called the company who makes Bradford White water heaters, and the customer service woman said that we had magnesium in the water heater. She said that we needed a new anode rod. My husband called Blue Sky back to pass on the information that we needed a new anode rod. On Tuesday, May 21, 2019, the plumber arrived outside of the appointment window, but to the company's credit, we were called to say he would be late. When he arrived, he did not bring an anode rod b/c they did not have one in stock, and no one had ordered one b/c he thought there might be a coupling issue causing corrosion. There is no coupling so there was no corrosion. Why did he come?? There was a $59 charge for a worthless service call as we already knew what was wrong. We complained about the charge and were told that the next service call to fix the problem would be at no charge (only charge would be for the part). Today the plumber arrived and questioned whether or not the water heater had previously just been drained or had it also been flushed. I am chronically ill and completely disabled and was experiencing a flare of my disease symptoms. I understood from what he said that he was going to flush the heater, and thus, it still was not going to be fixed. I demanded that the water heater be fixed today or we would find a new plumber. He said that I could not talk to him that way. I spoke in a civil manner and used no bad words, no bad names, no verbal or physical threats, etc. My tone was due to how ill I am and the runaround I felt that we were experiencing. He said that he was not going to put up with my tone, said that we could find a new plumber, and left abruptly.
We have used Blue Sky for years with both plumbing issues (buying 2 water heaters, fixing a leaking toilet, and replacing a garbage disposal) and HVAC (buying a high capacity air conditioner in 2017, which works much better for our house). They do not stock the Bradford White water heaters, which is what I want and so there is always a wait to get hot water when the water heater goes out. I would think that the plumber today would have dealt with difficult situations in the past and would have been able to stay to fix our water heater. It was not like I was physical threat as I weigh less than 100 pounds soaking wet (albeit yellow from the yellow hot water!).
I have used Blue Sky Plumbing and Heating for several years with good results. I had a tech yesterday which ensured I will never use this company again. Bad attitude, bad workmanship and bad advice.
Recently called Blue Sky when my furnace was blowing cool air/hot air. They sent out a tech who took ages to diagnose the problem, then wanted to run an expensive test on the heat exchanger. They said the heat exchanger was ruined and I needed a new furnace, my furnace was installed wrong, AND they wouldn't turn the furnace on. I called another company to come out, they said the heat exchanger was FINE, it was just a dirty filter. They had to rebuild the furnace because Blue Sky left it in shambles. They confirmed the furnace was installed correctly, unlike what Blue Sky said. I feel that Blue Sky was trying to take advantage of a single female, and just cared about getting the sale of a new furnace. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Last year I had Blue Sky plumbing and heating out to do a service on my furnace, at that time they spent about 30 minutes tuning up and cleaning my furnace and at that time they said my furnace looked fine. I know I spent well over $100 for the service. Just in the last few weeks I've noticed my furnace has not been running so well. So I had another company out that I heard about on Tom Martino for just $39 to tune, and clean my furnace. This new company spent almost an hour and a half and completely took apart my furnace, and cleaned it. They talked about, and showed me in great detail how everything worked. They also showed me the massive amount of dirt buildup inside my blower, it's obvious that Blue Sky never really clean my furnace. They also showed me how dirt in my air-conditioning parts was causing extra heat in my furnace to turn off all the time. One of my motors my furnace is now leaking oil probably due to the lack of correct maintenance. These guys are overpriced for incomplete work.

Called these bafoons last year when my radiant heating was out - never showed up the first time and when they did come out NOTHING was fixed and they had sometype of excuse. Your truly are getting the Blue Sky if you hire them.
Mike at Blue Sky--- I see your reply to my review and it's hilarious. You're right about one thing: I deserve better and this company needs to be investigated. But you are dead wrong when you say my experience wasn't with Blue Sky. Bahahaha!!! It absolutely was Blue Sky and you trying to infer that it wasn't is just another perfect example of how correct my statement really is! You don't take ownership of the issues at hand; you refuse to be held accountable and would rather attempt to discredit me than accept the fact that this company needs some serious and real management. Perhaps you should spend less time being defensive on Yelp and more time actually managing the company you so passionately defend.
We hired Blue Sky to put in an in floor radiant heat system. We were very sorry we did. I don't have time to write all the ridiculous details, but am sure when their management sees this, they will fill in the details after they swear up and down they're a great company and I'm the scum bag client. Unfortunately, for Blue Sky I have their nasty emails and a copy of the mechanical lien they had put on my house without giving me proper notice as well as having been paid per their contract. Do business with these guys if you want to be fleeced. They may not be experts and plumbing but they are fleecing experts.
I would give 0 stars if I had that option. This company is the worst. They did not bother to show up at all for the first appointment we made with them and then lied about it. When they did finally show up, they misdiagnosed the problem and wanted 350$ for doing absolutely nothing. When I asked what exactly I was paying for since nothing was fixed, the price kept changing. I felt completely bullied into paying 240$ just so the plumber would leave and now I feel like I was ripped off and taken advantage of.
When my regular AC tech couldn't schedule me for 30 days, I called Blue Sky. They were able to send someone out the next day to service and repair our air conditioner. Tech was friendly, professional, and efficient. Will definitely use them from now on.
They called when they were running late and called before they came. Each team specializes in HVAC, Plumbing, backups, etc. which makes them experts in there fields. They are professional, clean and kind. I highly recommend this company! Be sure to check out the discount coupon on their website also! I wouldn't use anyone else!
I am extremely disappointed in this company. My mother-in-law needed some plumbing work done in her bathroom. They charged her and never fully fixed the problem. She is 80 years old so she did not see the poor reviews Blue Sky received. Look elsewhere, they have no customer service skills once they have your money!
I should start by mentioning that this is the first time I ever had to call a plumber. I am a first-time homebuyer, and Blue Sky Plumbing & Heating gave me an outstanding frame of reference. In April 2013 Denver had a series of late season blizzards that caught a lot of us off-guard. In the middle of this one, the ignitor on my furnace died, and I was stuck with a freezing cold house (and pissed-off girlfriend) with no way of getting a replacement (the furnace ignitor, not the girlfriend).
Even in my stressed-out and bone-chilled state, their office handled my call with remarkable warmth and professionalism. They came by, fixed my heater and that was that. No problems and no bullcrap. I don't have a lot of experience with home maintenance, but I do know that Blue Sky is awesome...and I'm going to need a good plumber when I renovate these bathrooms.
*******************UPDATE 4/2016*******************
My ignitor went out again. Being the seasoned, three-year homeowner that I am now, I decided to do it myself. It took $32 and 5 minutes. These guys charge me over $300.
Food for thought.
I consistently have good experiences with these guys. They are knowledgeable and willing to share their knowledge with me when they come do work on our home; also, their prices don't seem to change or rise from year to year. Something really important to me is the quality of professionals they send out-they are typically kind and extremely courteous.

We have used Blue Sky for years for clogged drains, misfiring furnance and various and sundry other plumbing issues. Most recently had a bathroom sink DIY plumbing job gone wrong (started with dropping two AA batteries down the sink and ended with lots of leaks in places we hadn't even touched and multiple trips to Home Depot...if you have done any home plumbing you know what I mean)
Called Blue Sky, scheduled an appointment (the soonest one I could get....my husband and I were sharing a bathroom with 3girls). Anyway, Darryl showed up at the beginning of the 2 hour window, fixed us up, charged a reasonable price and wa on his way.
We used a yelp deal and saved 20 bucks....great experience, highly recommend

Bought a tankless hot water heater from blue sky. They did a sloppy job of installation, after boring the hole thru the wall for the gas pipes, they left it exposed to rodents getting in! That's not the worst! The gas exhaust pipe is placed so low that you smell gas every time it generates up! My neighbor once called public service thinking we had a gas leak between our homes. And finally, they are absolutely horrible about service on maintaining this hot water heater! If you have an emergency like no! Hot water they give you a later day for an appointment! But you can pay their outrageous emergency service! fee. The least they can do is provide you with better service on a product they sell!

I had a poor experience with Blue Sky Plumbing & Heating this last Spring. I have a rather old wall gas furnace that is under a Maintenance Agreement with Sears but this was the period where the temps were in the -teens digits. and everyone was busy. Sears gave me the go ahead to contact a local business to take care of the problem right away. The local businesses up here in the mountains were overloaded with work so I remembered seeing the Blue Sky trucks driving in the area and called them. They sent a young man out that afternoon. He was very personable and I immediately felt he was able to handle the problem. I told him what Sears had told me about them paying for the job up to a capped amt of money. He went to work examining the furnace and told me the dangers of a cracked heat exchanger, showed me a video on the computer of how a woman was in danger in her home with her grandchildren and was lucky to have discovered it quickly and that he had studied extensively on heat exchangers himself and could detect them easily. Again his easy way of explaining all of this was reassuring to me.
He finished his inspection and told me he had bad news and that I did have a cracked heat exchange and he would call Sears and speak with their expert and get the okay on the payment. Sears said No that they would examine it first. He went on to replace a faulty thermocouple that he found . He gave me his bill which coincidentally was exactly the amount Sears said they would pay to the penny. The heater was working so he left, i went downstairs to adjust the heat and smelled strong gas smell in the lower part of the house. I ran out to catch him as he was still in the drive. He came in with his gas detector and it didn't go off at all. He said it was most likely the gas residue in the house from him testing the unit. Leave the doors and windows open for a bit and clear out the house ( remember this is -15 degrees weather). He left. within 30 mins the house was still filled with gas, I had a headache. I got the dogs out of the house and called Xcel. They told me to leave the house, etc..safety rules. The man from Xcel showed up and as he entered the house his gas detector was screaming. All the way through the house it was going off. what he found was the NEW thermocouple was NOT tightened down on both ends and was leaking gas.. He told me although the gas was strong it was not life threatening for me in the amounts that were there. BUT the fact that this was not tightened down was a poor sloppy job.
I called Blue Sky the next morning, the manager returned my call, he only made excuses for the tech who came out. even with all that happened he was sure the tech was NOT the cause of the problem It ended up that he offered me a $100.00 credit on future work with them.
Sears techs came out the following week to check the cracked heat exchanger..there was NONE..it was fine. Had it been cracked it would have been $$$. The thermocouple was the problem which Blue Sky replaced.
I would not find reason to call upon this company ever. I felt this is just another milk it for all you can company. Remember Trust.....but verify
This is the used car salesman of the heating industry
We've now had Blue Sky come out to complete plumbing, heating and AC repairs and each time we've been happy with whom they've sent. They seem a simple, honest repair company without any hard selling tactics. I just wish my home equipment held up better. Until I can replace some of it, I'm happy to be able to depend on Blue Sky.
Buyer Beware! I have been totally ripped off by this company. They charged me $740 to cap a pair of sink pipes and add a vent boot to a gutted bathroom.
I was told that a technician would be at my home between 10-11 AM. After 12:30 came and went and I received no word, I called the company several times to make sure someone was coming. Each time, I was assured that someone would show up in 'about an hour.' The person who came to do the work showed up at 3 PM. He left the job unfinished after FOUR HOURS.
I called the next day to ask about finishing the job, and to ask why it was so expensive. I was given several incorrect versions why the job was unfinished, and I was re-quoted their hourly rate.
They sent a different technician out to complete the work. He was nice, showed up on time, and finished the job. The part that stung was that Blue Sky acted like they were doing something grand by not charging me again.
After multiple conversations with Blue Sky, they refused to adjust the $740 charge because they stand by their service.
Read it again. $740.00 to cap a pair of sink pipes and add a boot to a vent pipe in a gutted bathroom.
What I didn't know when I called them was that their technicians take as long as they want to finish (or not finish) a job. Shameful, and not a mistake I'll make with this company again.
I've reached out multiple times to resolve this situation and would usually never post something like this, but I'm shocked that they feel $740 is an appropriate charge for the work that was completed.
I can not speak more highly of the services I have received from Blue Sky Plumbing & Heating. We have received a few services from them now and are always greeted by knowledgeable and friendly professionals. Today both Oscar and Bill came to our place, both of whome couldn't have been nicer, and Bill who was the one who did a majority of the work took time to talk me through my options, helped me understand the problem and addressed all the issues we had and more. Thanks for the help Bill! We will definitely be using Blue Sky for our future plumbing and heating needs.
These people suck! Called based on a recommendation from Service Masters, after Service Masters told me to call a leak detection service. American Leak Detection came out, told me a leak was behind my furnace in the drain. Blue Sky came out, told me he didn't know how to figure out where the leak was coming from. I suggested removing the bathtub service door. Next he tells me the leak is coming up from the ground, than after an hour of having him open every access panel I told him, Maybe you need help. I will call American Leak Detection again and have them come back. They never came back and this guy would not leave after I told him several times I would figure it out. He finally left after 3 hours, and charged me almost $500 for doing nothing. I'm not sure if he didn't turn everything back on in every spot the man was, but I can tell you he left every access panel off (which he opened by hand because he didn't want to use an electric screw driver.) Just a way to charge more for wasting my time. No worries though, Don't worry about it, your insurance is covering it. was his response to me complaining about the bill. Now I can't seem to get enough water to my dishwasher.
Personally, I think this company has a crook working for them or maybe they are all in on it.
P.S. I would waste money on a leak detection service. Any plumber worth his or her salt should have the equipment to figure it out.
P.S.S. American Leak Detection service never did return my call, text, or email as promised. They are not a service provider to trust.
Avoid this company at all costs. These guys will start a job, but it's a job that will never end, with ongoing more work needed Plenty of hidden charges include dispatch fees, etc. Don't be suckered by the 5* reviews from people who have maybe had one or two jobs done by them and who don't have an understanding of property repairs, etc. We have given these guys the benefit of the doubt several times, but the bad experiences definitely outnumber the good. If you call to try to resolve these issues, Diane will tell you you need to talk to a manager, and then is unable to give you the name of the manager or contact info, while the manager is always in a meeting. You have been warned.
Addam was the technician that came to my house to fix my backed up kitchen sink. He was very professional, cleared my back up in half an hour and was very clean. He cleaned up after himself and was sure that there were no further leaks or problems after he cleared the back up. He was a bit late from the window of time they gave me, but a lady from the office called within the quoted window time to notify me that he was still coming and was on his way. I would certainly use them again for any further plumbing issues.
Save yourself time, energy and also importantly, your money. This company is a joke at best. I had an emergency heating problem on a Sunday this past winter so searched for a company that makes emergency calls. Found Blue Sky and they were fairly quick to getting someone out. They shut down my heat and said a part needed to be ordered. I checked in numerous times just to be told the part wasn't in yet. After several weeks without heat in the freezing winter, I called the company that typically works on my heating unit. I told them the name of the part I was told was being ordered by Blue Sky and would fix my heating unit. When my usual HVAC company arrived the same day I called them, not only was that part waaaay off base and absolutely not what was needed, the part was the wrong size. The usual HVAC company I use was able to pick the part up literally on the way over, so why Blue Sky ordered 1) the wrong part and had me waiting on said part for weeks, and 2) couldn't even get the dimensions of the part right, is beyond me. My favorite part is that they had the audacity to charge me for absolutely nothing. Avoid this company at all costs.

Blue Sky was well recommended to us by local friends, We've used Blue Sky for 4-5 years, for furnace maintenance, a plumbing issue and two years ago replaced our ancient swamp cooler through them, The install quote was competitive (we always get 3 estimates), was scheduled out in a reasonable time frame and done within the day assigned without a hitch.
Now we always get the same tech, Jared, who comes out twice a year to get the unit ready for spring/winter, since my husband and I no longer feel comfortable dancing on the 2nd story roof to do the maintenance ourselves. :-) The office staff has always been friendly and courteous and the service folk come within the time frame promised. Jared pops boot covers on while in the house to protect the carpets. We have never experienced any of the complaints I read on Yelp. We're happy to keep our business local and family owned, and will continue to consider Blue Sky our HVAC/Plumbing professionals. Linda and Paul S.
DONT WASTE YOUR 59 DOLLORS OR YOUR TIME , TECH SHOWED UP AND WITH IN 30 SECONDS ASKED HOW OLD IT WAS , (97 MODEL ) the30 seconds later he said he didn't like what he seen I ask why, looks like the furnace was getting hot , because of a residue on the furnace (dust) I called them because the furnace was having a hard tinge starting like a car with a week battery , not an over heating problem , long tory short wanted 200 bucks in addition to the 59 to inspect the furnace tried the scare tactic of bad heater exchange i pointed out the co detector 15 feet away his response well do you have any children in the house .. really through a little research i figured out it was the circuit board bought it for under a hundred bucks changed the filter and its been working great ever since really all you need to know about this company is how they respond to these complaints on yelp (wished I would have read them first ) do yourself a huge favor and call some one else

We discovered an emergency plumbing problem on Saturday evening at 9pm. Left voice mail, which was returned within 15 minutes and promise of service within 1-2 hours. Troy arrived on the earlier side of that, provided quick diagnosis & repair, all the time with a smile on his face. Couldn't have asked for better service and price was quite reasonable considering it was after hours service! Highly Recommend!

We had Blue Sky come out and turn on our swamp cooler. I'm from the east coast...so I have no idea about the operating of one. They were very helpful, had parts that I needed with them, and the swamp cooler was on in 30min. He had to install a belt, drain stand, and pump. He did not charge for the pump which was awesome. Easy breezy!

I can't speak to the quality of their work because the woman who answered the phone was so rude I didn't hire them. She began arguing with me when I asked for information. I asked for a range of cost to disconnect and reconnect plumbing in my kitchen and 3 bathrooms. She told me they don't give free estimates. The dispatch fee is $119 and they provide an estimate when they did the work. I said I'd like an estimate ahead of time and would pay the dispatch fee to get one. Not possible. A reputable company wouldn't need to trap you into hiring them.

I wouldn't bother calling them if I were you. I called more than a week ago and let them know that I needed my swamp cooler to be re-leveled. They told me that they would send someone out to give me an estimate, but the soonest they could do that was today. I waited the week for the estimate, but the person who finally showed up told us that he only gave estimates for replacements. He went to the back of the house and quickly looked up at the swamp cooler, which is on the roof. He did not get on the roof. He left saying that the company had made a mistake by sending him, and he would make it right and send a tech. We gave the office a call about an hour later to see what was happening. They insisted that they had sent the right person because we needed an estimate. Then someone else called back and said the man who had come had determined we didn't need the cooler to be re-leveled and that the float was leaking. Having been on the roof myself many times to look at the cooler, I know that is not the case. I asked how they would know that since they didn't even get within 25 feet of the swamp cooler, but they had no answer. Then they provided me with an estimate for their services which was higher than others I have received. All in all, contacting this company was a big waste of my time!
What a disappointing company. First time writing a negative review but the service and company ethics are so egregious that I found myself compelled to let everyone know what happened to me.
We had blue sky plumbing come in and give us a bid for an evaporating cooler in early summer. We had a previous bid given to us last year by them. I called their head quarters and asked if the bid was still good from last year. They asked to send the 2015 bid back to the the guy who wrote the bid. So I did. He made some cost adjustments but submitted it back. After we got back from our vacation I called and said I was ready to move forward, they notified me that the person who wrote the bid no longer works for the company but would honor the bid. So I signed and gave the 50% deposit. Contract signed.
2 weeks later the installers (last Friday) came in and wanted me to sign a waiver that they are not responsible for shingle damage, which was the 1st problem, the foreman said it was a no go without the waiver being signed then and there. He went into the attic and said he could not do the job because the entrance into the attic was too small for his equipment and the joists were 13 inches apart rather than 16 inches apart and that I would need a framer to frame around the joist and make a bigger entrance into my attic. None of this was in the original contract, which I told him. He proceeded to tell me that that original employee no longer works for the company. I told the foreman that the original person's employment is not my problem, we have a signed contract and they have accepted my money already.
I told him to forget it, don't touch my roof. They left. I called their headquarters and the lady, who I had been dealing with the whole time, was rude and didn't bother to apologize. She said my money would be returned in 2 days. Never heard back from them.
I'm still wondering if I have legal recourse for their breach of contract. I'm sure they would have been all over me if I had breached the contract on my part.
But there you go guys, that's what happened to me and our house. I'm a reasonable person but this is completely unprofessional for a company of this size. I will be taking this complaint to the BBB as well.
Recently had another need to call - unrelated calls to the previous review. Again, great service from scheduling to service call.

I'm not sure how you can justify a 1300 dollar charge for the removal and installation of a 50 gallon electric water heater. The going rate is 600-900 dollars installed. I am staying away from this company for grossly over charging consumers. Unless you like to throw money away have at it people. Stay away, stay away.
I contacted Blue Sky to get a quote for work in my elderly mother's townhome. Her gas water heater, located in a crawlspace was leaking, and had to be replaced. This was on Friday the 10th of November. Her townhome is within five minutes of Blue Sky. I'm not going to name the individual who estimated the job, but he worked a price up that was expensive, and he would not consider any other replacement in her house, except for putting in a tankless water heater, in another part of her home. Gas line, and waterlines would have needed to be extended, new vents...etc. He stubbornly would not consider other options. He wouldn't even discuss other options with me. My Mom is on a fixed income, and can't afford to do expensive repairs to an essential hot water supply. Good bye Blue Sky. I am a homeowner, if plumbing is ever needed at my house, you will not be considered.

Don't ever call this business! My boiler went out and we knew exactly what was wrong with it (from the propane company). They proceeded to charge me $200 to tell me what was wrong with it, which we already knew. The service technician had a terrible attitude and it was obvious that he did not feel like doing the work. They left my pregnant wife and 2 toddlers without heat and hot water and said that they could be back to fix it 5 days later. I called to complain and the office had no compassion what so ever to reduce the charge or get a tech there to fix the problem any earlier. I wouldn't recommend these guys to my worst enemy. Upon sharing my experience with people I know and other contractors the feed back I got was other people had similar experiences and their prices were through the roof.
We had Blue Sky install our furnace, which went fine but when we needed them to fix a faulty switch, they really dropped the ball. The claim that they GET IT RIGHT the first time on their website but it took them a couple of trips to fix a pretty standard issue. They will charge you a dispatch fee and a minimum 1 hour service no matter how many times they need to come to your house or how quick the fix is. I realize that not every technician can diagnose and fix every problem on the first try but when the first technician can't get the job done, which requires a second visit from a different technician who in turn charges you more for his visit, it makes the customer feel like they're being taken advantage of.
When I talked to a manager he explained that they do not carry many of the parts at their warehouse so they need to charge the customer for all the overhead it costs to order the part, pick it up, and install it. Their invoices only have the word Labor on it along with the price so the customer has no idea where these charges are coming from. Not to mention it requires a second visit with a new set of fees and charges.
They fixed the problem but their technicians didn't offer a whole lot of insight when I questioned them about the second visit and the $395 total it cost to fix a switch. Overall, it felt like they cost us a fair amount of money for not doing it right the first time and they answers were all vague and unsatisfactory.
I've had slow tub drainage issue for several weeks but was not standing water until these guys attempted to fix the issue. Two weeks ago, Blue Sky came out, attempted to the fix the tub drainage issue. In the process, the plumber broke the old chain and dropped the chain in the pipe and couldn't get it out because he didn't have the proper tools and didn't have time. In my opinion, if you have assessed the job and know that you didn't have proper tools, why attempted to fix it? And if you attempted to fix it and made it worse, why not try to resolve the issue? Instead I was quoted an outrage price, at $1000? Luckily I have two bathrooms and could wait for another plumbing company to fix the issue. Today, Mountain Drains came out and they fixed it for $285 with a brand new drainage system.... and without a trip charge.
Super fast and efficient! Cost was minimal on repairing our furnace and staff was friendly! They fixed a leak in a pipe on my furnace in less than 2 hours! Would definitely reccomend them!

Prepare to be GOUGED in a major way. Workmanship is shoddy and customer service stinks. They were good many years ago and I used them all the time. The last several years they've been horrible. Last time, they installed $450 worth of parts, spent 2 hours working, and charged $1500. The repair failed and someone else had to come back to fix the shoddy work. I'll never use them again. Horrible, horrible company.

Did a great job! On time, respectable honest. Beat the competitions quote with a better product and price. I would highly recommend them!!
Based on Yelp alone, Blue Sky was not on our list of plumbers to call. But our first choice (Zane) was booked solid for weeks and after I talked to him about what needed replacing they recommended Blue Sky. We'd already gotten one estimate from another company and it was over $3000. Our house is really small and our home owners insurance person and the other plumber agreed our first quote was pretty high.
I'm really happy that the other plumber recommended Blue Sky!!! We needed our entire gas pipe system replaced and this was just two months after buying our home. They were always polite, professional, and prompt. It's hard to figure out who to trust when it comes to your home and money but I feel we got lucky and we won't have to worry about looking for a plumber in the future!
Thanks Blue Sky!
I have used Blue Sky at multiple properties for both plumbing and heating (boiler) work. They have always proven to be reliable and their work has never had a problem. While they are not cheap, you do get what you pay for. Thanksgiving 2013 I had the thermoucouple go out of my furnace. I had a tech there within an hour and it was repaired in less than 30 minutes. Good communication and professional attitude.

I've used Blue Sky for furnace and plumbing work for more than 8 years. There techs have always arrived on time, been very courteous, cleaned up thoroughly after the job, and gone out of their way when needed to ensure that repairs were made so our lives could get back to normal. This week we had a problem with our water heater on Friday afternoon. Matt showed up within about an hour of my call and made a special effort to find a part after closing time so we'd have hot water over the weekend. They aren't cheap, but they are good, and if there are any problems with their work, they are quick to make it right.

High charges and trip fees. Put cheap replacement products on and charge high retail.
A few year sago we had Blue Sky install a new swamp cooler. Within 2
months our roof started to leak at the location of the swamp cooler.
The came twice to check out the leak. They denied any problem or
resonsibility for the leak. We took thing sin our won hands and had
a new roof installed. The site of the swamp cooler still leaked.
After one year the plumber from Blue Sky took some responsibility for
the leak and asked the swamp cooler rep to come.
The leak was caused by a problem with the swamp cooler.
Blue Sky never bothered to check that problem out earlier in the year.
We now have a new roof, an questionable swamp cooler and
a real disdain for Blue Sky....they don't back their work.Poor Company
Troy to the rescue! - I thought for sure my ancient swamp cooler had bit the dust but Troy was able to resurrect it and save me from the fiery furnace that had become my home! I was able to get an appointment within 24 hours of when I called. While there was a mix-up on the time, I was able to wait longer to ensure I could receive service. Troy was very courteous and professional and explained everything to me clearly. He had it back up and running in no time and I am one happy customer!

We have always had a great experience with Blue Sky for heating, air conditioning and plumbing. From Amy who scheduled our latest fairly complicated plumbing and HVAC repair to Gino and Jesse and all the technicians, we were thoroughly satisfied. They came as scheduled, took care of every aspect of the repair and cleaned everything up. We were back in working order quickly. They have installed 3 AC units and 2 furnaces so we have seen their full range of services and we have never been disappointed.
We needed emergency after-hours main drain service as we could use no water in the house until we received it. We received an immediate call back from the after hours number and two subsequent call backs to keep us posted on the ETA of the technician who was already on another call. We were also quoted the (very reasonable) cost of the service in advance. The technician arrived within two hours of our initial call, was polite, friendly, professional and knowledgable. He resolved our problem quickly and completely, and was very careful to prevent/clean up any inadvertent messes from the service. From start to finish, Blue Sky was outstanding in every dimension.

We called to get a quote for the installation of an ejector pit. After they rescheduled twice on us and we patiently waited almost 2 weeks they show up and let us know they will get us a quote. It finally arrives, it's a quote for $350 to camera the line that we have had scoped twice and know exactly where it goes. We let them know this when he was here. I responded to ridiculous quote and rather than get a quote as originally requested, I get an email that they can't help with my project. This was the quality of work provided by the best this company has for technicians. Stay away from this company. They don't want real work, they just want to overcharge you to run the camera and then send you to a qualified plumber for the repair.
Many thanks for the reply. I would be happy to try rescheduling the appointment. I would just like to ask that if you have to cancel my appointment, can you please have someone call me and let me know so that I don't sit here waiting and miss another day of work?

The swamp cooler was not working. I called and made an appointment with Blue Sky and another company (as it's hot and need a solution fast, the first one wins). The other company showed up this morning and didn't feel safe about getting a 2 story roof and wouldn't do the job (and then actually said they won't charge for the service call).
Blue Sky called and said they have someone who can come earlier. I told them it's a 2 story Dutch Colonial w/ a steep roof. They confirmed it wasn't a problem and have a 24 foot ladder in the truck. The technician came, assesed it (was very nice to the dogs) and had a replancement pump with him to fix it immediately. It's going to be close to 100 degrees today and our swamp cooler now works great!
Highly recommend this company and Chris was outstanding!!

Blue Sky successfully repaired a swamp cooler at a rental property I own for $600 in the spring of 2013. Cost seemed high, but it is an older unit. Warranty for 1 year with requirement that I use Blue Sky for start up/shutdown, which was also fine.
Fast-forward to October 2013: Contacted Blue Sky for the shutdown, and was informed that the cost would be $200.
$200 for a swamp cooler shut down, when other vendors offered $75-$100?!? Pass.
Tried to negotiate with the company, asking for a furnace tune up or something along those lines to be included free of charge...did everything possible to maintain business with Blue Sky. No dice.
Sorry Blue Sky, but I'm not interested in overpaying for a routine service. Nor dealing with any company that refuses to negotiate with what could have been a regular customer. My recommendation: find a vendor with more flexibility and more business sense.
EDIT post owner response: Kudos to Mike for responding. However, my comments stand. The review above is based on multiple attempts to negotiate price,. I have no intention of using Blue Sky again, regardless of my threatening negative review yielding a price concession. I don't care what you charge others--I care what you charge me.
Your response falls apart on multiple fallacies. Besides, if you really want to see what a threatening review looks like, check out the other negative responses to your business, which seem to be strangely relegated to the not helpful section of Yelp...I wonder why that is...almost as if someone is paying for them not to be featured.
Had a great tech who performed a basic tuneup of our furnace. Had tech Phabian Gomez who was both knowledgeable and transparent about the work that he completed. Add in a seasonal $50 discount and I have zero complaints with the experience.
I had these guys come out to repair my furnace, they said it couldn't be repaired & gave me an estimate of $7,800.00 to replace it.
We froze for the next 4 days & I had a different co come in & clean out the furnace & in 2-hours it was working & the guy said with yearly maintenance it will last another 10 years.
Don't even waste your time with these guys, now they want $400 for the service call!

We have had John Miller as our technician He is knowledgeable, honest, polite and careful in the house . Would like him to be our permanent technician . Your phone staff and accounting are great!!! Thanks very much Blue Sky!
I have used Blue Sky for 6-7 years. I have a lot of rental properties and they have always done a great job. I trust them to go into tenants homes and I know that they will be straight with me about what needs to be done. They have saved me a lot of headaches over the years and they are a great company to work with.
The line to our septic tank collapsed. This is not a situation that can wait. Blue Sky came and evaluated the situation. They made the repairs on time and on budget. All the workers were courteous and respectful, and left our house cleaner than when they started.
I would not recommend nor will I EVER use this plumbing business again. They were extremely unprofessional, lied about the quote & Charged me over $400 to replace 2 toilet flappers that only cost a couple bucks each. The plumber was there a very short amount of time & they took advantage of the fact we were not home & charged me an exorbitant fee. My husband called the owner for an explanation & asked how can it take several hours to replace two toilet flappers....with absolutely no explanation from the owner. We have used them in the past for a brand new water heater & other plumbing issues, but never again. They will take advantage...if your not home & lie about how long they are at your home.

I run a small property management company. I had a heater in a garage stop working, the owners specifically requested I use Blue Sky because they had installed the unit about 5 years ago. I called Blue Sky, they demanded a credit card prior to making an appointment, this I always find to be a red flag but I was doing as I was told. Blue Sky took my credit card and said it would be a week until they could look at it. When they did go look at it they called me and said they though it needed a new control board but had to call the manufactured to be sure, they then charged me $260 for the half ass diagnosis. When I complained they said $130 an hour was the going rate and the tech was there for 2 hours. (I don't mind paying $130 an hour if they fix something) They called back the following morning and said the board was bad and would could order one the cost of board and installation would be about $800. I got a second opinion, another company went out found it was a bad switch and had it up and running on one visit for $150. Blue Sky is either incompetent or unethical, I will try and believe simply incompetent.
This place has the worst management team ever. They are unprofessional and insulting. I will make sure everyone I know does not use them including family, friends, alumi from both Regis and CU, colleagues and tenants. Horrible experience and not worth the time. I wish yelp let you give NO STARS
We had a leak we suspected was coming from furnace components yet we knew we needed a place which would straddle both plumbing and furnace issues in its suite of offerings as we couldn't see where the leak was coming from. We hadn't had super luck with plumbers in the past, and so were dreading this call. We knew Blue Sky in name only as they support some cultural offerings in our community. But Blue Sky was quick and friendly in their response. We were super pleased with the caliber and demeanor of the responder. He must be a plumber with credentials based on his work and my conversation w/ him. What a delight. We usually get techs or plumber-wanna-be's.(Let's face it....there is a measure of confidence when real experience arrives!) The leak was repaired and whole system checked. Now I breathe a sign of relief. I am super confident we are good to go. So wish I had called them sooner.
On June 19, 2013, I discovered that my air conditioning system was not cooling at all. I called Blue Sky because I had used them previously. The service technician who came to my house on June 21, 2013 (Daniel) reported that the entire air conditioning system was broken, and I needed an entirely new system. Cost: $3,000-4,000. The Blue Sky dispatcher was supposed to call me to set up a new appointment, but in fact no one ever called me from Blue Sky.
I did not believe this diagnosis. It seemed shoddy and irresponsible. How could a reputable manufacturer like Lennox sell a product that was completely worthless after only 8 years?! I was suspicious that the service technician did not even examine what was happening in my furnace room and could not explain to me over the phone what went wrong with my system.
I called my local Lennox dealer. They fixed the entire system for $708.00, and it works great!
I saved myself $2,000 by not trusting Blue Sky.
If you want to contact me, I will show you the two invoices, including the shoddy and irresponsible diagnosis that Daniel wrote on my invoice. I am so angry. I feel this type of poor service should be a crime.
Great plumbers! I had 2 tubs that had drain plugs that were so tight that I couldn't remove them to clean the drains. I found Blue Sky on Tom Martino's recommended list and was extremely satisfied. At first estimate the plumber thought he'd have to completely replace the drain pipe and the quote for both services was $300+. Once he started the job he realized he didn't need to replace the drain and let me know. Not only did it save me more than half, he took the time to teach me how to operate the stoppers when they get too tight and recommended that I go buy a Zip-It drain cleaner to do regular maintanence. He could have taken me for an extra $150 but was honest and straight forward. These guys are paid on an hourly rate. Would definitely use again.

I completely disagree with the other reviewer, Bret T. The staff are incredibly respectful, timely, and helpful. In fact, the point I want to make is that in process of receiving service, there was a miscommunication between myself as the consumer, the dispatcher, and the technician. However, Blue Sky went above and beyond to make sure that they accounted for the problem and were very gracious about it. I definitely recommend working with someone that has integrity, and I can definitely say that Blue Sky has that.
I needed a new furnace - at every point, receiving the bid, office staff, installation team - was very professional and did a wonderful job. They exceeded my expectations!
A little background. I used Blue Sky when I lived in Evergreen and found them to be competent but a bit pricey. They 'owned' the Evergreen market and were recommended to me. I used them again three years ago in Wheat Ridge for a furnace repair and they were prompt and once again a bit pricey but I justified this because of my past experiences.
Last year, my main drain needed to be cleaned out and I was quoted a price of $195 for this service. Again higher than average but I agreed as they familiar to me. They brought a two-man team and got the job done. When the time came for the final bill I was charged $195 plus $75 charge to get into my crawl space. I was never aware of this charge. I was told by the office staff that they needed access to the clean out. They had access to the clean out in the crawl space. What the office was trying to say was the access was needed in the yard. I complained about this 'extra' charge and to their credit they waived the fee.
Now, I need to have my drain clean out again (after only one year?) and I called again. I talked with Sandy and asked about the price remembering the $75 upcharge for the crawl space. She reviewed my file and said that it would be $195 as there were no notes stating any other charges. I asked two more times and said they had to go into the crawl space. Each time I got the $195 charge quoted. So I scheduled the service call.
The morning of the service I got the courtesy call in the morning saying that the tech would be out at 9am. I wait. I get a call at 10:15am (one hour and 15 minutes late) saying that the tech was behind and would be there in 20 minutes. When Adam the tech arrived he reviewed the situation and said the $75 charge would be assessed and an additional charge of $75 would be added because they were going to use a two-man crew. He remembers the job from last year. Wow, and additional $150 charge! I said that I was quoted $195 and Adam stated that he could not do this because he was working on commission and he wouldn't make any money (why is this my problem?). He calls the office which does a 180 and says that I would have to pay the extra 75 but would waive the extra man charge. Well I balk and said I would talk to his office later. When I asked Adam why he was late he barks about the office not scheduling him correctly (again why is this my problem?). Because Adam will not get his full pay he simply turns away from me and leaves. I believe Adam can provide customer service when things are going his way but cannot handle any customer problems.
Calling Blue Sky I get no help from Jesse in the office as he says they MUST charge this and CANNOT waive this fee. Well they waved this long time customer away.
In the end, I believe that Blue Sky has gone to a Commission/Independent Contractor basis with their techs and an office staff that is not complete in synch with their contractors result in miscommunication, poor customer service and hidden charges.

We hired these guys on a Sunday because they had great rates, not cheap, but better than the rest. The first guy didn't quite get it right, but they sent out Dave, then Darryl who ultimately fixed it and fixed it well! Thanks and we will definitely use them in the future!
I have worked with Blue Sky for several years now, and have always been pleased with the service they provide. Their techs, in particular Danny and Michael S., have been on time and have always done a very thorough job. Today they turned on a dime for me, fitting me into their schedule with very short notice to service both a furnace and gas fireplace. It's without hesitation that I recommend Blue Sky to anyone needing professional, reliable and competent service.
Everyone we have dealt with from Blue Sky Plumbing and Heating has been great! We had extensive problems with our forced air heating and water heating that few people have even been able to understand. Brian, Dan, Shane, and Grant came in and knew exactly what to do. We are beyond thrilled to have heat and hot water again thanks to these guys. This is a fabulous company!
This company shouldn't be in business! They do not stand behind their work, they are unprofessional and they are borderline crooks! Prior to moving into our home, Blue Sky certified their work on the heater and AC (in writing), but when it came to turn on the heat, there was no heat. When I called them to let them know that something was wrong, the manager said that he certified the work done on THAT DAY and that it was working the day he certified the work, but he can't vouch for any other day thereafter. WHAT?!?! He refused to come out to fix it without us paying him.
Then, Blue Sky also installed a new AC unit prior to us moving into the house. The unit hasn't been working this summer and so they came out at 2PM to assess the problem, then said they couldn't work because it was too hot in the attic and they normally schedule these types of services first thing in the AM because it is a health hazard to work in extreme heat... then, why didn't they schedule the appointment in the AM? Aren't they the professionals and shouldn't they know better than to schedule an appointment that requires attic work during the hottest part of the day? They charged me a visit fee for less than 15 min visit and were going to charge me again for them to reschedule and actually do their assessment. The manager said that he can't control the weather and he's sorry for the inconvenience but he'd have to charge me a separate dispatch fee for them to do their full assessment! I think not!!!

It would take an hour to say what a horrible experience we had but they seem to find things wrong no one else can see and it is always VERY expensive..if there were a MINUS FIVE rating I would give it to this so calledfamily business BEWARE al g
Not sure what happened to my earlier negative review of Blue Sky, which gives me pause when trusting YELP :-(. Our experience with Blue Sky was pretty bad. They replaced a hot water heater connected to a hot water heat boiler system. They initially promised a small 'add on' job for free (installation of a hose) that they then charged $300 for. Interestingly they asked that I remove my negative review from YELP and sign an legal agreement never to discuss my review (the power of yelp!). So beware there may be a number of disgruntled customers like me whose voices you have not heard. I had another heating/plumbing specialist in later to fix a related issue, and they noted that the hot water heater install was incorrect and not to code. I did not follow up as everything is working (fingers crossed as my system seems unnecessarily complex). Will never use Blue Sky again, lots of other good options of really good plumbers out there.
Unfortunately we have needed our fair share of plumbers this past year and we kept trying to find a good one. After several different problems and at least four different plumbers, we had a new problem come up. Lakewood Plumbing, who up to this point had been the best, couldn't come until the next day, so we tried Blue Sky. They came that day and they were wonderful. The guy who came was very nice, knowledgeable, and did a great job. He didn't have what we needed on his truck and it was too late in the day to get it, so he did everything he could to leave us in a good position to wait until the next day when they would finish the job. I couldn't believe how much time he spent cleaning up a mess that would have to be worked on again the next day. A different person came the following day to finish everything and he was just as wonderful. The problem was not only fixed, but everything was better than it was before we even had the problem. On top of the two people who came to our house, the woman in the office was great every time we talked to her and they were VERY organized. Something we hadn't seen much of yet. We will be calling Blue Sky for everything in the future. I just hope we don't need them anytime soon.
