Our toilet started leaking from underneath and it was Labor Day weekend. I found Doug on Yelp, called and left a message. He called me back within an hour or two and came out the next day on Sunday of a holiday weekend to fix our issue, no questions asked. He was quick, knowledgeable and very friendly. Will definitely be contacting him in the future for any of our plumbing needs! Thanks Doug!

After an unsuccessful experience with a prominent plumbing firm, I had let several plumbing repairs go unfinished. In addition, the water line under the house needed to be rerouted, which was a major undertaking according to at least 3 other companies, so it too remained on the someday list.
Then I met Doug Whitmore.  Wow!  My anxiety melted away as he expertly and quickly moved through the list of repairs, including rerouting the water line.  He made the morning so easy for me.  Plumbing doesn't have to be scary!  Thank you Doug!

Having leaking pipes is no joke and not being from the 916 really limited my resources. During a time in which plumbing companies making 4-5 calls to make an appointment just to give an estimate Whitmore Pluming picked up the phone, pulled over, listened to my situation and came the very next day.  8am, bright and early.  He worked hard and thoroughly checked for more leaks. Luckily he did because I had more, he reinstalled the garbage disposal and everything. This thankful Thursday I am thankful for Whitmore Pluming co.

Doug is fantastic, honest, commuicates well, and dependable.  Recently had a bathtub leak that seemed scary.  Was told multiple things by different plumbers.  Doug came by on a Saturday, diagnosed/fixed within an hour.  Total professional, and gives you peace of mind.  First plumber I will ever call.

EUREKA!!!!  I finally found my plumber!!!  I had been searching for a plumber for a while now for a couple projects.  This first time was to address a backed up drain.  Doug called me and let me know he could be at my house earlier than my scheduled appointment time, which was an added bonus.

He came over and assessed the issue.  He is very knowledgeable and professional!  He provided me with details around my immediate problem and also advised of other issues that would need to be addressed in the future.  I also asked him for estimates for my upcoming projects, and he was happy to provide them the same evening.

We had a broken water pipe underneath a concrete slab outside the bathroom that was leaking.  Our tenants had no hot water.  Doug came out & brought a subcontractor that could detect the location of the leak.  Once he knew where it was, Doug jackhammered thru the concrete to pinpoint the leak & repair it.  He worked Saturday & Sunday in the rain to fix the problem.  
We were so impressed with his work ethic, his professionalism & his approach to just fixing the problem, and not quoting us a ridiculous price to re-pipe the entire house for $10,000 like another plumbing company did.

Job done April 2019. What can I say about Doug at Whitmore Plumbing? Absolutely excellent work from start to finish. I was home with the week Doug was at my house doing a re-pipe. Doug was very receptive to my questions and input regarding some creativity that this job required. When it came time for final trim out of the kitchen sink, Doug juggled his schedule to fit me in after my kitchen countertop was delayed. Highly recommend!

A large plumbing firm tried to snake the shower in a 70 yr home. Told us it didn't work and that repairs would be $6800 and take 2 days. Wanting to be careful, called Doug Friday about 9. No answer. He called me back 2 min later, agreed he could see the home at 3 that day. Snaked the line and cleared the blockage. Fabulous service and result. He's our go to plumber now.

We have used Doug Whitmore for a couple of big jobs recently.  He was very professional but friendly too.  He was always on time and came in under budget.  He was happy to work with us in difficult situations.  He has state of the art equipment that allowed us to see the problems in the pipes so we knew what we were getting into. The most recent job was replacing a 100 year old cast iron waste pipe interior to our Victorian house; it had a massive crack along the whole length.  He did a remarkable job and even had the city inspector say nice job.  Personable,  neat and professional--it doesn't get much better.  We will use Doug again for any future plumbing problems.

Called Doug to install a water heater and replace shower hardware. Doug responded promptly, was punctual and professional. He completed the work without issues and the pricing was reasonable. I would recommend him as a plumber.

Doug is a great plumber. He has high standards and lots of experience. We had very low water pressure and because our house is about 60 years old, we thought the old corrugated pipes were corroded.  I saw Whitmore Plumbings high ratings on Yelp and called him. He came over within a few days and carefully inspected our plumbing and gave us a bid to replace all inside supply plumbing with copper pipe and to replace our shower valves. What convinced me to hire him was that he looked for ways to access the pipes while making minimal holes in the wall. Because we have a raised foundation, he did most of the work under the house. He also replaced some blocked drain pipe in a sink and remounted our toilets. He did all this work for under $9000. Given the skill this work required and the cost of copper pipes and the quality work he did, I think the price was very reasonable.  We would hire Whitmore Plumbing again.

Our basement water heater sprung a leak on a Sunday morning.  While I shut the water off and bailed water, my wife first called around to three other, better known companies.  Yes, those companies w/24 hour, 7 days/week dispatch.  She noted that while they did have someone available on the phone (dispatch) they actually had no one available to dispatch.  Then she called Doug Whitmore and he made himself available - purchased the water heater and was at our house within the hour.  Awesome.  And the price was fair.

We hired him again to reinstall an original bathroom fixture I found in a lost box in the attic (something another firm would roll their eyes over) and he took it on as a challenge.  Make a fixture from 1928 work again?  I'm on it!  And he did.  I will never hire another plumber as long as I live in Sacramento!

Doug came and cleaned up a plumbing job that was done completely wrong and was leaking everywhere. Same day as I called. Friendly, fast and professional work. Plus right here in West Sac. Highly recommend.

I honestly dislike leaving bad reviews on a Tradesman, and especially a local Tradesman... However, last year around this time I had Doug come out because my lower level addition toilet was backing up.   I showed him the cleanout for the toilet on the exterior wall and asked him if a 4 pipe that was at grade level with no cleanout cap was possibly the main cleanout?  I didn't know because there wasn't the standard cleanout cap and I wasn't a part of my homes remodel before we bought the home 6 years ago.  I was told by Doug that it wasn't the Main Cleanout and he was not sure what it was, even though it was 4 black pipe and inline with the city sewer tap and the side exterior of the house.  Doug decided to snake a camera down the 3 line through the 2 exterior wall cleanout from the toilet at the lower level.  He then used a signal device to tell me that my mainline had a belly in it and was causing the backup.  He said he would have to trench the entire old line and replace it with a new one for $5000 or dig where the belly was and splice  in a cleanout for less?  I said is it possible that I had some tree roots issues instead?  I had just cut down 2 40' hackberry trees from my front yard and one was about 5' from the mainline.  He said no?  He charged me $130 for the 30 minutes and left.  I got ripped off and here's why!  I ended going to HD and renting a 100' 5/8 snake and removed my toilet from my original bathroom that I know was tied into the main sewer line.  I rootered it myself for a couple hours and bore through a bunch of roots which eliminated my backup!  1 year later the problem reappeared, only this time I saw the sewage bubbling up from the 4 pipe that I was told was not my main cleanout!!!  So back to Home Depot and re snaked, all good again and I now have a cleanout with cap installed on the 4 pipe, so if I ever call Doug again...He will know right where to go?! Sheesh...maybe a little effort next time to help a neighbor out!  Tip: These State Street West Sac Homes in your neighborhood have similar plumbing.

Our water heater failed on Saturday night and we awoke to a flooded basement on Sunday morning.  We called 6-7 plumbing/heating businesses and no one (but one) was available to help us on a Sunday.  Even the businesses with answering services just told me...sorry no one on call today, call back tomorrow.  REALLY?  Why then have an answering service?

Enter Doug.  He called me back within an hour, asked about the dimensions of our hot water heater, arrived with a new appliance, installed it, and gave us sound advice about our electrical wiring and installing a sump pump.  All this at a very reasonable rate and less than what we would have paid on a weekday.  

We have a new plumber!  This is how service should be!!!

Doug did not even come to my house but spent 15 minutes of his time on the phone with me giving me advice on how to fix the problem myself. I really appreciate an honest experienced persons option and he gave me great advice. I would gladly call him for future work.

Once again Doug to the rescue!!  A couple years ago I called on Doug when we were having Kitec issues.  He was extremely helpful to our situation and it was much appreciated!  Today I had him come by to put a relief valve in our recirc system.  Come to find out our pump is totally dead and also the plumbing company that put in the sytem did not install equipment they should have done.  Doug doesn't even want to charge me for his time to come out.  It is beyond wonderful to find an honest and knowledgeable plumber these days!  I would highly recommend Doug and will continue to use him for our plumbing needs!  Thank you Doug!

Our toilet had a small leak under the tank. I called Doug and he came out the next morning. He was super friendly & professional. Leak fixed in less than 30 minutes! Plus he was nice to my dogs, which is always a plus!

Add Doug to your household's emergency contact list!  There is nothing is worse when your main water line will not turn back on, you need to drink water/use the bathroom and it is Saturday evening.  Doug called us back immediately and came to our house in 20 minutes.  Through no fault of ours, our water main wouldn't turn on and we knew it was an issue above our skill level.  Doug did not belittle our diy work at all (which a lot of professionals do to guilt us into their services.)  In fact, he spent extra time to walk through different options - like a family friend giving us honest advice.  He was thorough, professional, and gave us realistic expectations of future wear and tear.  He wasn't pushing or pressuring or scaring us into worse case scenarios.  His pricing and trustworthiness made us want to hire him for additional work.  Look no further for a top plumber in Northern California.

Doug showed up at the end of a busy, hectic day to help me with my mini crisis. He was on time, respectful of my home and his invoice was very fair. I would highly recommend this one man business and I will definitely be using him again.

Doug is the best. I hired him to replace a the leaking steel galvanized piping under my house with copper, retrofit my hot water heater up to code, and add a sink to my garage. I couldn't be happier with Doug's work or the experience in general. He is a true professional who takes pride in his work and it shows from the beginning. Doug is the best plumbing contractor I have ever dealt with.
Our new house came with an in-law unit that once had a kitchen, but was removed prior to the sale. Why do people do that?
The sheetrock was left open, where the plumbing was removed from the walls. With one detailed phone call, Doug was able to diagnose what was needed to fix the place back up by asking lots of detailed questions.
He showed up at 7:30 on a Saturday with all the supplies needed to do the job. All of the following was accomplished in one long day.
Ran new water lines (soldered copper pipe) to kitchen sink, bathroom sink, and new runs for laundry.
Ran all 2 ABS drain lines from kitchen sink, bathroom sink and laundry room.
Ran new vents through roof for all.
Ran new 3/4 threaded gas lines for stove and dryer.

Doug is a real pro with all the right tools to do the job right the first time.
