Our 50+ year old floor furnace (original, installed when house was built) stopped working after the summer. I was fortunate enough to find these guys after a Google search, my regular plumber does not do HVAC.
They came out and diagnosed the issues, (there were several) and repaired it working like new the same day, Frank even upgraded the ancient analog thermostat to a digital one, allowing us to set a temperature and not just switch on and off.
We were so pleased, when we decided to upgrade our home and install A/C, I called them first. Frank called back almost immediately, came out within an hour and provided a several options and a quote for both.
Frank suggested options and solutions to our questions and both he and Rick were back the next day to begin the installation process.
In spite of the rain and some miserable working conditions, they installed a state of the art compressor and cooling/heating system with two mini-splits, one in our master bedroom and another larger one in our living room. They are more than ample systems, required minimal disruption and will provide either heat or air conditioning, alleviating the sweltering nights of the summer we've had to endure for the last 20 years.
Both Rick and Frank were very friendly, chatted with us, answered questions, were professional and extremely careful with the installation and entire process. We couldn't have been happier with them and I'll be referring everyone I know to them and their services.
It was 54 degrees inside our house and had been that cold day and colder at night for many days. Our home insurance company sent out one of their repair companies to evaluate the problem. The man told us that it was a faulty part on the gas furnace, and an electrical problem caused by rats chewing and pulling on the wires. He said that they were both a fire hazard. Next we hear from the company that insurance does not cover rats. This company offered to make the needed repairs. We told them no thank you. At this point we looked for another company. We ran across the Yelp reviews on Western. We called and they called back and were able to come the next day. Rick arrived right on time. He spent time looking at the furnace. He said, the furnace needed a new part or kit, but that the wires were all fine, and no sign of recent rodent activity at all. We agreed to have Rick install the kit. Normally he carries several on his truck, but two other customers had beaten me to the parts. Rats! (Pun intended-humor is a great way to go through life.). He went to pick up the kit and returned within the time he said he would return. He made the repairs and it has worked better than before since. I have a high standard for businesses providing services to customers - good customer service is so lacking in most businesses.
My standards were not only met, but exceeded by Western, Rick (the repairman/owner) and his wife in the office Valerie - their son-in-law also works for them. Rick and Valerie were so wonderful to work with I almost - almost forgot I was paying them. Both were personable and professional.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!
So our air conditioner was not working properly last Friday and the pipes iced up. After some yelp research, I stumble across Western. Noticing they are from Lakewood I was hoping I can get a same day appointment. Well, of course not. Actually I had a hard time reaching them, so I finally messaged them on yelp and I got a call back within an hour!
So I got my appointment for Monday. Frank was our technician, he is very punctual, knowledgeable and professional. He never tried to up-sell us any maintenance, cleaning, repair or replacement which we were worried about working with a new company. A lot of HVAC companies would try to tell you everything is wrong with your HVAC unit but not Western! Frank even educated us on what to do if it happens again and gave us some tips to properly maintain the unit better. I cannot be more happy to spend this $95 for a HVAC check!!

I found him on yelp when the first rain of the year caused our heating
system to act up.they gave a time estimate when they would come got here on time with a phone call to tell us he was here. Rick found the problem and fixed it in less the an hour. then went on to check for a leak we had that raised our water bill. A good experience in all a new all purpose contact for home needs

Let me just start by saying owning an AC unit is great and terrible at the same time. When they're working, it's heaven. When they aint...well...we recently started having trouble with our 10 year old unit (which was nearing the end of it's warranty) and a friend recommended we use Western AC, as they helped them out a while back.
They were quick to set up an appointment and assess the problem. They were able to check multiple potential issues and quickly spot the problem(s). The turn around time on a new part was quick and the installation even quicker. We even had a hiccup and they came out next day (on a Saturday morning) and got us back up and running.
Needless to say our family was very pleased with their work and even more so that they were able to squeeze a little more life out of our unit. Very friendly and professional. Strongly recommend them for any AC related repair.
It never gets cold in Southern California but of course when it did I realized that my heating unit was broken. I called Western Heating, air conditioning and plumbing and set up an appointment for repair. Rick came out and quickly figured out the problem. Rick returned promptly the next day and fixed the heater without any problems. The cost was reasonable and the service was great.
Rick was great, on time, knew his stuff, the price for our new AC unit and furnace was really good. When something minor happened after installation, he responded quickly and fixed it. Thanks for the strong work Rick, we appreciated it.

Very happy with the service! My furnace stopped working in the middle of a very cold spell. Called several companies and came across Western on Yelp. They were able to come the next day. He diagnosed the problem (transformer blew out and needed replacement), replaced it, checked everything over and charged me under $300 which I believe is reasonable. Their diagnosis fee was a little higher than some companies but it was put towards the cost of the service which was totally reasonable. Heater is working great. I would use again for sure. I like that they are a small family owned business. Happy customer.
I was recommended to Rick by my parents. He was on time and very professional. Being a guy you had giving up and admitting defeat, but sometimes you just need a pro to solve your problem. Glad I did because it saved me a lot of headache. Rick was able to diagnose my problem and solve it quickly! When it came to price I was pleasantly surprised, it wasn't bad at all. I think we've all heard horror stories about plumbing companies or what not being outrageous and just down right evil. Fortunately that wasn't the case and I can't recommend them enough. Next time I won't even attempt to solve the issue myself, I'll just get a pro out right away. Oh! Almost forgot, he was also clean.
Awesome job by these guys today. Fan stopped working on my central HVAC late yesterday. Called them AM and they were here in 1 hour. Quickly diagnosed and fixed in 45 mins. All's well and COOL now !!!

Beyond exceptional and easy to work with. I had an emergency issue and had another plumbing company come out that tried to get me to spend $12-20k on a fix (that's right). They even tried to guilt me into it.
Western staff came out to do a second appraise this so called needed fix and basically said the other company was trying to just cash in.
He scoped the line, showed, and explained why we didn't need any of the things that company said we needed. Cleaned the clog and was on his way.
Extremely professional and tons of integrity from this company.
I also have had them come do work for our facility and they do absolutely clean professional work in that department as well.
Frank was very helpful! He thoroughly inspected and listened to our concerns. I highly recommend Western Heating as they are responsive and on time !
Excellent response time! Customer service was ok. I had a few questions that they seemed uncertain to answer. All in all a good job though.

Our furnace wasn't working.. Rick jiggled the thermostat and charged us $85 for the service. He was here for about five minutes, didn't even clean anything or offer suggestions on what could be done to prevent it from happening in the future. Very disappointing. We felt ripped off.
My A/C wasn't working, I called another A/C company and they tried to tell me I needed a new unit and it was gonna cost me $$$$$ Rick came out and it was a quick fix. Saved tons of $$$ and will be a customer for life.
Today Rick came out to fix a problem with our tankless water heater. We have previously used Western Heating and Air, And again they didn't disappoint. The office was very quick at getting back to me and Rick quickly responded and fixed the problem. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to family and friends and would definitely use them again.
Rick did a fantastic job as always! We called the office the day my dad's heater went out and it was repaired the following day. This is a very old wall/floor mounted box heater from the 50's and I was afraid that parts would not be available any longer or just too hard to find. Rick came prepared and had everything necessary to complete the job with him. The heater works like new and my dad is very happy with both the service and the quality of work Rick provided.

Needed our annual service for our tankless water heater. Called for estimate, Frankie came out the next day and did an inspection and quote. Very friendly and knowledgeable of tankless water heaters. Price was competitive with the franchises. Would use again and highly recommend!

Today I had my air conditioner fixed by Western Heating. I NEVER write reviews, but I felt compelled to write one for this company! Rick came out nice and early and was one of the sweetest guys I've ever met. Not only did he fix my air conditioner, he told me how to maintain it and even helped me clean it off. The work was done at a more than fair price and I would recommend this company to anyone wants great service and a GREAT PRICE! Be sure to ask for Rick! :)

He discovered a problem from work done by another company, so we're waiting to see if that other company will fix the problem. Airconditioning went out and I was in full panic mode. Happened
on weekend so I was calling all kinds of different companies.
Thankfully, no one was available. Talked to my friend in Lakewood,
Ruth and she recommended Western. Called 1st thing Monday
and they advised that they may be able to squeeze me in later
that afternoon or for sure the next day. About an hour later, they
called and had a cancellation and could be out soon. Rick showed
up, and quickly diagnosed the problem, gave me the quote and
did the repair. The whole time explaining things, and giving me helpful hints for the future. Rick was extremely friendly and professional.
Did a great job for a reasonable price and I am extremely satisfied and
would recommend this company to anyone. If and when I have
other issues will give them a call, and will also use them for plumbing
issues.

Excellent service, fair price, no pressure. This is the place you want to call when you have a heating or air conditioning problem. We called places that didn't call us back, we called places that sent out high pressure sales team that told us we need a whole new system, then we called Western...they came when they said, fixed what was wrong, and we're a pleasure to work with.
I really wanted to like this place and have them become our regular go-to guys because we like to support local Lakewood businesses and Yelp customers recommended them.
Valerie took my call on Thursday, 10/27/16. I was happy to get a next day appointment window of 2-4:30pm. I have a floor furnace that needs inspecting, repair, and lit for the upcoming winter. Valerie even asked if I found them on Yelp. I cleared my Friday afternoon and did some gardening while waiting for someone from Western. 5-5:30pm rolls around. I lost track of time. Western was a no show, no call. No follow-up from Valerie or anyone else from the company. Disappointing.

Great service called them on Wednesday they were at my house on Thursdays Val was great called be 5 minutes before tech got to my home to let me know he was on his way . Frank did a great job got my air going again and today me what i need to get repair . Would highly recommend them.
Amazing service. I would definitely recommend Rick for any job. He got my A/C up and running and gave me a couple options that fit my budget. Rick worked quickly and even ended up coming in a little lower then his original quote, you can't beat that. Thank you a million.
Bottom line up front: Western Heating Air Conditioning & Plumbing do exceptional work and are uniquely responsive to customer needs. This was an Easy 5 star rating. I will definitely use them again and/or recommend them to others in the future without hesitation.
Now the down and dirty details: Last Sunday I was cooking breakfast and heard a very long, loud what sounded like a water drip. I investigated and found something was leaking from my downstairs bathroom exhaust fan cover, directly into the toilet (sometimes a little luck is a good thing I suppose). After a little troubleshooting found that it was leaking from the master bathroom and the shower in our guest bathroom. Definitely time to call in professionals.
My daughter had work done with Western in the past and highly recommended them to me. I called last Sunday, mid-afternoon and left a message. Within the hour, Rick returned my call and scheduled an appointment for Monday.
Upon arrival, Frank diagnosed the problem but unfortunately due to the COVID situation parts were not available late enough in the day to correct the problem. Understand completely that within the tight quarters required to make the fix, not something you want to leave partially completed, waiting for parts and quite likely rendering all the upstairs facilities inoperable. A temporary fix was put in place allowing us to shower that evening. The following morning Rick and Frank were on the job and shortly had the leak permanently fixed. While some sheetrock needed to be removed to correct the problem causing the normal messiness that sheet rock and especially wet sheet rock can cause, the work area was appropriately covered prior to working and thoroughly clean after the job was complete.

Great practical and compliant service for a reasonable price. They respond quickly to service calls! I'm a regular customer and get check ups every year.
BEST EXPERIENCE! Our AC stopped working for some reason. We called Western and they immediately sent out their tech Frank. He found the source of the problem right away (safety switch ). He suggested a unit tune up since the service call was $95 so for an extra $50 he checked and cleaned the unit. He found that we were low on refrigerant. Instead of just adding any refrigerant he checked to make sure which type was used previously since it could cause major damage to use different types (never knew). Frank was VERY knowledgeable, thorough, friendly and HONEST! He explained everything he was doing, told us what we did and didn't need, and just an overall nice guy. Never once did he try to add to the services or suggest things we didn't need. This trustworthy family run company is EXCEPTIONAL! We'll be calling on Western anytime we have issues with our HVAC.
Frankie was so professional, polite and efficient! Came, figured out the problem, explained what the causes could be, tackled it, and fixed! Only if all the appliances could be this easily fixed. I will be keeping Western's number on my speed dial! Thank you, Frank, for my cool home in this heatwave!

These are your guys!! This is a family business. Love it! Tip: when you call, don't hesitate to leave a message. They will call you right back & set up an appointment for ASAP. Frank came out and installed a new water heater. He first checked to see if our old one could be fixed, went out and bought a new one just like our old one, and even fixed the gas pipe & cupboard door that was worn out. Frank was extremely fast, fair and thorough... plus he's friendly!

western heating air conditioning are awesome! rick was the best! i called them at 1:08pm today since our unit was out for 2 days. he said he may not be able to get to us till friday but then rick showed up like superman within the hour and got the job done within 30 minutes! our a/c is working great now. very reasonable pricing thanks again rick!
I found Western Heating and Air on Yelp and asked them to come and look at a newly installed unit that didn't seem to be running correctly. They came the same day and diagnosed what was wrong. They came back within 5 days and completed what we needed done timely, cleanly professionally. I would highly recommend Rick and his team.
Western did a great job clearing out my clogged sink and helping replace our 20-year old water heater. Rick and his helpers were extremely kind and did an incredible and timely job. I would definitely use Western again!

They advertised that they serviced within 25 miles but yet they refuse to service Los Angeles which falls within 25 miles! Isn't that false advertisement?! That is one way not to grow a successful business and keep a new reoccuring customer!
One happy customer here! Air conditioner upstairs stopped working which made the nights unbearable so I called western, they had me scheduled from 7:30-10 am Rick got here at 8:15 am checked the unit and all I needed was a new capacitor! He checked both units outside, cleaned them out checked freon and it was fine. Rick just left, he is very nice and personable. Valerie from the office was great, called me back this morning and even called me when Rick was on his way to let me know. Price was good and within 45 minutes my unit was working and my house is cool. I will definitely be calling them back for service again.
I had Rick and the crew replace the heating/AC ducting in my attic. They showed up on time and gave me a good price. They really did a nice job and obviously take pride in their work. That's very important to me to have confidence in someone to do the job right. I would definitely have them back to do other jobs in my house.
We knew we had a problem with the condensation coming from our A/C. It had backed up and spilled into 2 rooms in our home. Frank came out within a few hours of my call and discovered that the coils were completely covered with dog hair! (warning to owners of large, long haired dogs with undercoats that shed) He got in there and cleaned it all out (easily enough hair to make another dog) for a reasonable fee. We found Frank to have a good sense of customer service as well as being very pleasant and knowledgeable. We will definitely call them again if we have further issues.
Rick did an excellent job! After describing my situation with my air conditioner, he quickly figured that I had a burned out capacitor. He had one available in his truck and replaced it. Problem fixed. Rick was very professional.
Scheduling was easy. I had to switch the time of my appoinment, and Valerie was very helpful too.
Calm, cool, knowledgable, and professional...they came out very quickly and were able to fix what we needed.
