This place not only responded before anyone else, on the weekend no less, in an hour, and was extremely upfront and professional.
They then not only gave a quote hundreds of dollars lower than competitors, but when they noted that the job required a bit less than anticipated, they lowered their price at the end of the job as well. They wasted no time and legitimately cared about a home theater install.
Highly recommend them to everyone, seriously.
I have no idea how this company has such great reviews. On April 21st, I contacted SoCal Home Theater to talk about work on 2 different speaker projects. Nina (office assistant) told me that she would get with Adam to talk about it and he would get back to me. April 26th, I had to follow up because I did not hear from anyone. Adam finally called me back that afternoon. I provided all pertinent information and appointment was scheduled for May 12th to do the work.
The morning of May 12th, Adam texted me to say that he was sick with the flu and had to cancel. No problem, things happen. He said that nina would reach out to reschedule for the following week.
May 12th - nothing from Nina
May 15th - nothing from Nina
May 16th - nothing from Nina
Reached out again on the 16th to find out what's going on. I was told that they had left me multiple messages and were waiting on me. Nope, that's a lie, no missed calls or messages. Then I was told, Sorry, Nina was calling the wrong number and leaving messages on the wrong number.
May 17th - Nina magically gets the right number and calls me. We'd like to schedule you for 2 weeks from now. No, sorry, that's not going to cut it. When you have a customer who YOU cancelled on for whatever reason, you prioritize that customer and get them taken care of.
Nina said she would get back to me. When she called back over 2 hours later, she said that they just cannot do anything faster than 2 weeks. So, if you want to deal with a company that cannot seem to deliver their services or provide even a modicum of proper communication - So Cal Home Theater is your best bet.
Adam was very responsive in getting us a quote, and then personally did the installation within the next week. Highly recommend! Thank you!
Great service at reasonable price! Adam came over the next day after I began inquiring about mounting our new 85 inch Sony TV. He and his assistant did a great job! They also connected my soundbar & mounted my rear surround speakers at no extra charge. The Mantel Mount I bought on Amazon did not fit, but Adam had one in his truck that worked out well. I paid $350: $200 for mounting of the TV & $150 for the mount. Great job! I highly recommend them!

Absolutely thrilled with the job So Cal Home Theater did with mounting our tv. I had the tv and mount already and he was so fast and knowledgeable about it. Quickly mounted the TV. Made a new outlet so the wires were hidden, mounted the sound bar, and made sure to communicate what he was think about the height of the tv. He also cleaned up after himself like he was never there. Tv looks amazing and more importantly it's out of reach of our little one. I couldn't recommend this place more, any time I can I will use them again!!

Found So Cal Home Theater on yelp requested a quote and Adam called me within 30 minutes AND scheduled me an appointment ASAP!! Both TV's were perfectly mounted under 45 minutes and his pricing beats every other company. I am MORE than satisfied with his services! Highly recommend!! Thank you so much Adam!
Adam from SoCal Home Theater is amazing! I needed my home theater system hooked up in time for my housewarming. He arrived on-time and was both professional and extremely informative not only about how to hook up my system, but how to sync it to my home theater system, tips on hiding the receiver in my cabinets, etc. When we realized that I needed another component, he happily gave me one that he already had and showed me where I could order the other.

I need to install seven ceiling fans in my business on a 14 foot ceiling. Of course, I'm trying to get some estimates on what it would cost. I've gotten a couple so I know it ranges anywhere from over $2000 up to $4000 and I wanted to get a couple estimates plus I'd like to be able to talk to the people and get an idea of the personalities & a sense of trust and a good working relationship with whomever I'm going to hire especially for that kind of money
My business is centrally located in the Kearney Mesa area and a five or 10 minute estimate meeting didn't seem that huge of a request nor to a couple of the other electricians that came out.
I am not electrician which is exactly why I need someone to come out and tell me exactly what needs to be done and at what cost.
To be asked questions about electricity and the installation, to me was condescending and rude
I even sent photos since the person cannot bother to make an appointment nor even say, I can't make an appointment or I won't make an appointment. I would say if this company worked on their communication skills I might've given it a higher score but based on the way they treated their potential customer no I won't hire them for anything
I found Adam 10 years ago and have used him in multiple homes since then. Always professional, always helpful and always gets the job done. Couldn't recommend enough. I've had everything from ceiling speakers installed with him to outdoor speakers, TV mounting on walls with electricity being ran.
I just had him over today for even more ideas I had and I'll definitely reach out again for future projects. I have also referred him to family and friends always with positive reviews.
Fastest response and even quicker service! Adam and team came in within the window they promised. They provided expert suggestions on where to install the TVs, and were able to mount within a 30 minute time. Super quick and efficient, would definitely recommend!
Adam and his team are awesome! My new TV was delivered today and they moved one and installed it in my Gym area and then installed the new one in the living room.
WOW! They did it in less than 1 hour and added an outlet since they are C11 (I think that's the right one) certified.

Upon requesting a quote Adam asked the right questions and asked for pictures to ensure he understood what I wanted. That enabled him to give me an accurate quote. Others I inquired from threw out ballpark numbers without trying to understand the job. I immediately disregarded them.
After agreement on the specifics, he was on time, efficient, knowledgeable, friendly, and did the job quickly. And the best part is I paid exactly what he quoted.
Would definitely recommend him and will use him again if the need arises.
Adam is amazing! He replied immediately to my quote request, worked with my schedule and was right on time to the appointment. Hired them for their great price as mine was not a complicated job. They did a great job swapping out our TVs and even replaced a cord that I didn't even know wasn't working allowing for internet to now reach all 4 corners of the house! Sometimes you get burned when you choose the good price company but this time I got lucky! Couldn't recommend more.
I set up an appointment with So Cal Home Theater after over a month of trying to troubleshoot my home theater technical issues. I scheduled an appointment in a reasonable timeframe, they confirmed the appointment several times, and the day of Adam called me to see if he could come earlier since they had finished their previous appointment earlier than expected. That worked even better for me. Once at my house, Adam quickly diagnosed my issue, fixed it, and was on his way. He and his team were courteous about removing their shoes (it was pouring rain that day). I was so delighted that my problem was solved so easily! I highly recommend So Cal Home Theater for your home theater issues and needs!

So glad I found So Cal Home Theater on Yelp. We had a 65 inch TV that we wanted installed on a stucco wall on our outside patio and also needed to have an outlet installed for the TV. When I contacted So Cal Home Theater, Adam responded really quickly and we set up a time for him to come out. I even had to move the date a couple of times and he was super responsive and flexible. When he came to the house, he was able to do everything we wanted pretty easily and quickly and we are really happy with the results. Couldn't have been a better experience, highly recommend this company!
After reading a lot of reviews I am so glad I landed on this company. Absolute professionalism throughout the entire process. They arrived exactly on time, they did a fantastic job with the install, and got it all done under the original estimate.

2nd time we have used Adam & So Cal Home Theater. We were so pleased with the work they did on our last home that we hired them again to help with the home theater setup on our new place. Once again, we had a tricky layout as we wanted to hide the components out of sight.
Adam did an awesome job figuring out how to make it all work, installing speakers for the main room, wireless sub, outside speakers and setting it all up. He is incredibly knowledgeable and provides options that make sense for what you are trying to do... NOT just the most expensive options!

Similar to another customer, I had such a great experience with Adam and team on my first house that they were the only one's I called when we moved. So Cal Home Theater hung 5 tv's, installed surround sound speakers and installed/wired all the components for our home theater and also ran wires and installed our outdoor speakers as well. Their workmanship was top notch and prices were fair. I have recommended So Cal Home Theater to a number of friends and they all have had similar positive experiences.
I have had them back out to install Nest security cameras and install/wire additional speakers and a new receiver. As expected, I was very happy with the work performed by Adam and his team.

Some neighbors recommended SoCal Home Theater, so was looking forward to using them. Unfortunately their office and scheduling process is kind of chaotic, and after countless phone calls and texts, they were not able to show up when promised on two occasions. I assume business is good, but if this is how you handle new clients, not sure it will last long term.
Appreciate the reply from owner...but the reason we were texting for scheduling was at their suggestion, now I'm getting told that's not how they do it. Let's please keep it honest here guys, thanks and good luck.
I had these guys do a couple projects for me. Initially they were good, then most recently their office has been extremely non-responsive and difficult to deal with. The items they suggested I purchase were discontinued, and I think they wanted me to purchase their items retail to unload product.
They gave an estimate for very basic work, then never showed up!!!! I followed up with a call and email, and they didn't respond until the day after they are supposed to show up and I take time off work. Their response is We apologize we didn't finalize your estimate. Total BS, given that I emailed several times and they just don't respond.
Apparently their business is doing real good, so they are too busy to respond and communicate. You can't even get the person on the phone who is supposed to do the installing, and who can answer the questions. All in all, they are pretty unprofessional, and difficult to deal with - not customer service oriented at all. I would not trust them to do work in my home or cut into my walls, etc. This isn't rocket science, and customer service is a pretty basic element of doing business. Bottom line, they've lost my trust and I will never do business with them again, and I would NEVER recommend them to anyone if they can't handle the basics of coordinating the hanging of a TV on the wall, a couple speakers and some internet. WOW. Zero stars to service, and negative 5 stars for communication.

So Cal Home Theater was very easy to work with and had great service. Adam was very professional and took the time to explain how to operate my new home theater system. He even came back a few weeks later to help me program one section of my tv that I forgot to ask him about during the initial install. Adam and Alex did an amazing job with the installation, knowing the fact that my wife doesn't like the cats on the TV and cords and the fact that I love watching my sports is amazing and the way we wanted, i know it was a bit pricey but it is well worth it. Adam was great. He finished the job in about 30 minutes. Literally everything was installed and cleaned up in half an hour! Something it would have taken me hours to do. Very professional and great communication for a few scheduling changes I asked for and during the job he walked me through everything.
Take your business elsewhere. Their customer service cell center has a very poor attitude, and is somewhat rude.

Great experience. Adam was on time, fully prepared and COVID-19 compliant. He explained what he was going to do, listened patiently to my questions and then went to work. He discovered an electrical issue and resolved it for me. A little bit later I had two TVs mounted and the look great. He is friendly, professional and provides a quality service. So Cal Home Theater installed our new in home theatre system earlier this year. It was a seamless and fun experience for us! The staff is very knowledgable, works quickly, and is obviously enthusiastic about providing a quality entertainment experience.
I don't know much about technology, so they helped guide me to the best television and sound system for our space by making a number of suggestions for us to pick from, falling at various price points.
Reasonable fee and flexible scheduling!
Will use again, and highly recommend!
AWESOME....hands down SoCal Home Theatre crushed the installation of my 55 inch Samsung TV. My wife and I just bought a new house and wanted to ditch the tv stand and cords for a sleek look that saved space. These guys show up on time and walk you through the whole process. They kept the floors clean with a blanket and vacuumed and wiped the TV down before they left. They even mounted the router and modem behind the TV (I asked for this) at no additional cost. For less than $400 I could not ask for more. Great job. I will definitely be using them again in the future.

Adam did great work and followed through on everything we discussed. He was easy to work with and answered any questions we had. Adam arrived right on time (with his mask on) to install our new flat screen on the wall of our bedroom. We were able to get an appointment with him right away. He was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly and did a GREAT job! He made sure he didn't leave any drywall dust on our carpet and checked to make sure the tv was up and running. Adam actually went above and beyond for us, ensuring that the cable hook up was live before he left as well. We HIGHLY recommend him for any of your install needs.

We love SoCal Home Theater! Back in 2013 they installed an entire new home theater system for us with speakers, receiver, blu-ray player and TV that uses either cable or internet. Also a universal remote that runs it all seamlessly. They ran all the wiring neatly inside the walls from our home office.
We love it and couldn't be more pleased with their work. Since then anytime we've had a problem or question, Adam has been right there for us.
This week we had Adam out to install zone 2 speakers in our backyard and to upgrade a few things. Once again, SoCal Home Theater saved us from the time and pain of doing it ourselves.

I did a lot of shopping around and requested a lot of quotes from a lot of businesses around the area. Some even came to my house to look at the job of upgrading the surround system to work with newer technology. What made me decide to go with So Cal is the responsiveness and cost effective quote. The other companies went overboard with their quotes just so they could make money instead of simplifying the process to extend the life of my current sound system. Some didn't even bother getting back to me. Adam really understood what I wanted and didn't try to upsell me. Nina was also very helpful. One of the equipment needed for the upgrade was out of stock through their vendor. She helped me find a way to get it faster and even researched a website that had it in stock. If it wasn't for her quick help, I would still be waiting until October! During the upgrade, Adam was on time and very patient. He did a lot of troubleshooting and work around so that I can get how I wanted our system to be. He even provided me suggestions on how I can improve in the future and gave me options that are the most cost effective. Overall, I am very happy and satisfied! Highly recommend! Don't waste your time, just go with So Cal.

Not only was he prompt, he worked quickly and walked me through how to use the TV. He connected everything the way we requested and even cleaned up. I had two Ring security cameras installed October 14, 2020 and it went great. Adam was very punctual. He installed one camera on my porch and one above the garage. I feel very safe with great views of the yard and street. Now I know when any deliveries arrive. At night there are recordings of the local wildlife, so far one large very pretty skunk near my porch and heading down toward the street, four raccoons crossing the driveway single file, and a large cat walking around. During the day most of the videos are of people walking their dogs. It's entertaining during this boring pandemic shut down. Adam set everything up and showed me how to use everything. I could never had done it myself and am very pleased with everything.
These guys did a fantastic job with a recent job at my new house in Encinitas. Adam was very responsive leading up to the job, and answered all my questions. Ultimately we ended up mounting two televisions, and Adam was able to help me figure out an economic solution for an awesome speaker system on my patio. Highly recommended.

Great service that So Cal provided from start to finish. Everything was done the same day as promised and then took their time to explain once done about the remote and how everything was setup.
I will definitely use them again for future work in my home.
Adam did a great job of quickly diagnosing our sound system, rerouting cables, finding and replacing a bad one, downloading updates for both the Yamaha amp and Samsung Smart TV. He soon had the whole system operating smoothly - better than ever! He is also polite, courteous and obviously possesses a high degree of integrity. I recommend him without reservation.
I have used So Cal Home Theater for several projects. The entire team is amazing! Nina always addresses my scheduling and estimate needs quickly. Adam and Alex are absolute rock stars! I recently moved into a house that is not ideal for surround and very not ideal for in-wall speakers. I needed So Cal to supply five new in-wall speakers and replace my projection screen (wall mounted, motor driven) then install it all as well as the projector and a sub-woofer placed far from the other electronics. . They said they could do it in a day. I had my doubts. They did it even including drywall patching and matching the paint color of the walls. I spent more time tuning and adjusting the system to my preferences than they spent cutting, pulling cables and patching and painting. Professional, excellent service and I feel I got my money's worth.
PS to Cole B the guy with the one start review. Combining speaker wires is quite normal. The connection from my mono amp to my sub-woofer consists of five wires bound and soldered to act as one. That was required by John Moravskis, the man who built that sub-woofer as the only way to make a proper connection for low frequency handling.
Adam was great. He was prompt to respond to my message and walked me through the process of mounting a TV. He and his team came and did it in no time. They are pros, so they know how to optimize the aesthetic of the set up. I will certainly use their services next time I need them.

I've hired SoCal Home Theater several times now and had an awesome experience each time. Adam and his team do a great job of providing options and the pricing is always upfront and reasonable. My regular installer Alex has mounted five TV's in my home, each one is done perfectly with all the cabling hidden neatly either in the walls or behind the TV's. I asked for some additional home automation equipment and cable boxes mounted behind the TV's for a minimalist look and that was happily accommodated as well. I will definitely be hiring them again for future home theater projects!

SoCal Home Theater has several projects at our home, and each time we've been thrilled with the results. From basic wiring for mounted flat screens, to multi-room home theater and speaker setups, they're great at what they do! Their recommendations for high end, easy to use components have been awesome, and their quotes are always reasonable, and you can trust their technicians in your home. We look forward to using them for future projects as well.
They're the real deal. They did a surround sound and TV installation for us. They were tidy and courteous during the installation. I had a few estimates and theirs wasn't the lowest to be honest but they seemed to be more thorough and I had more confidence in their ability to do a good job. I am not disappointed at all. Everything works better than I had hoped.
I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. I was looking for an electrician to add an outlet directly above the current outlet to mount a TV. At first, I didn't think of hiring a Home Theater company for this but their name came up on Yelp for my search on electricians. I had a few contacts from electricians that either refused the job because they were too busy or the cost was too high for one reason or another. I then contracted So Cal Home Theater and after I discussed the job with them, they mentioned that they could do the install for the television as well for about the same price electricians were quoting me for just the outlet. So, I hired then right away. I was scheduled for the following week an everything went without a hitch. The installer (Adam) showed up on time and was exactly what I would want for an installation. He was tidy and somewhat of a perfectionist when it came to measurements and level.. Once completed, he even assisted in programing my remote for the new TV and sound bar. What a delight. I would highly recommend for a job like this. Thanks again!
We highly recommend So Cal Home Theater. It was easy to get an appointment for them to come look at our issue within two days of calling them. They were prompt (actually came a little early after checking to see if that would work for us), friendly and diagnosed and fixed our problem quickly. We will definitely use them again if we have problems in the future.

I first used So Cal Home Theater for a corporate installation. Alan and his team are excellent. Honesty in the quoting process, great work on the installation and fantastic customer service.
I highly recommend Alan and his very capable staff. It is wonderful to find a company that believes in integrity in business. I am saving up $$$$ so I can have his team install my new home theater!

I really appreciate when a small business runs itself like your business is important. I had called a few different home theater operations before I called Adam, and I immediately chose to work with So Cal because 1. Adam answered all my questions over the phone in an unhurried manner; 2. He answered or texted or had his team call me back within the hour whenever I had questions; 3. Adam just seems like a really nice guy. I never felt like he was trying to get me to spend more money, or do anything unnecessary with the set up.
These guys are awesome! This review is a little overdue but we are very happy with their work. We had a TV moved and mounted to a different wall in our family room so they had to move all the connections too and add power. Can't even tell that the TV was once on a different wall and the new cuts in the new wall are very clean and hidden by the TV and cabinet holding our new equipment. We also had 5 speakers put in the family room that had no pre-wiring. I thought it was going to be a big project/expense but not for these guys. I'm sitting hear listening to my speakers boom through the house thinking my neighbors are going to complain at any moment. I went off of their recommendations for speakers btw because I could not find any information online even with model numbers. Our system included a receiver with a universal remote so everything can be run thru it. Directv, Pandora, Netflix, apple TV, DVD, etc. I love it! I am able to watch video's taken on my phone on my TV!
We also had a TV mounted in our outdoor room that was not prewired and speakers put in that were already prewired outside. Again I thought this was going to be a big project/expense but not for these guys. They were able to run power easily and hide the plug and I upgraded my equipment to get a wireless cable box (thru Directv) and that is hidden as well behind the TV. Everything is very clean and looks like it is supposed to be like that.
I would highly recommend them and use them again! Thanks for the great system guys!
Excellent!. These fellows came, did thorough estimate, installed A/V and stereo pieces to customer's exact(ing) specifications that (another) dealer had left in disarray before vanishing. Advised well, listened to me, reasonable. Came from out of area even.
Having them back when more equipment comes to place it, they are helpful for stuff purchased elsewhere and even sound absorbing materiel.

What a great company. I called another company I found on Yelp and while he didn't do much mobile stuff, he referred me to Terry at So Cal Home Theater. I called and Adam answered in a very professional manner. Introduced myself and explained my somewhat highly sophisticated system (well by my standards anyway) was having problems working. It's a vacation rental and that's what I do for a living and had guests staying there with no TV so I had originally called another company who were non responsive but Adam had Javier out there within a couple hours. Very professional and super nice. Fixed the problem and also made sure all the other rooms were working. Explained and gave simple options and took no time at all. I highly recommend this company. Even though they had a short staff because of the holidays, they still made it happen!!! Thank you So Cal Home Theater. 5 stars for sure!

UPDATE! I've hired Alan and his team to do some work for the Police Department that I work for. They did excellent work, were on time, professional and the price was right. The employees commented on the great work that they did. Again, I highly recommend Alan and So Cal Home Theater.
I would just like to yelp that i had a great experince with this company. Everything was done ontime and on budget. To add to that - they were clean and professional. They did a ton of work to my home and everything works perfectly and my home has become the house on the block to watch movies in due to how well my new home theater sounds. Our electronic components are now hidden in the in-wall cabinet and operated via RF remote; all you see it the TV and speakers!

Great job, reasonably priced, on time, courteous, clean appearance and left the job site clean.
Went above and beyond job and solved unrelated connectivity problem in a separate system in a different part of the house.
I recommend without hesitation.
Alan's team did an excellent job installing my 55 Sony LED TV in my custom built media center cabinet. It was a 2 person team and the install took about 2.5 hours. At first i was thinking that i could do it but I'm glad I got the professionals to install my TV. I am very happy customer and would definitely recommend him. I found this company at the Del Mar home show back in February.
I bought a house already with the TV and all sound system. The whole system has Universal remote that I had no idea how to use it. The previous owner of the house referred me to Alan and So Cal Home Theater. I called Alan and when I told him my address he easily remembered the house and recalled what was going on with my system and the remote, explained me all my options. He sent a guy named Alex to my place, Alex spent like 4 hours connecting all my devices with the universal remote that I have, did everything exactly the way we wanted it to be done. When I called Alan again about some problems with one of my devices and remote, he sent Alex again, who fixed everything in 10 minutes and went even beyond that he checked all my other devices and fixed everything that my 2 years old son had massed up, absolutely free of charge.
Alan and his So Cal Home Theater team is very professional and customer oriented. Definitely will use them and recommend them to all of my friends.

I didn't actually use this company, but I watched its YouTube videos on how to mount a TV above a fireplace. I'm not a big DIY type of guy, but the videos were incredible. They made the installation process a breeze, and I was able to do this project without any screw ups. Thank you So Cal Home Theater for the great videos! If I lived in the area, I would hire you to do all of my projects.
