Great results and great follow up.  The first leak detection company I called failed to find the reason my meter was constantly spinning.  So, I called Sherlock.  Ron responded quickly, and was able to narrow down the problem to a small area under my driveway, which, given that the mater main pipe is PVC (making leak detection difficult), was extremely helpful.  His guidance enabled me to get the problem solved quickly.   He reached out twice after the visit to make sure that I had all I needed to get it fixed.  I appreciated that too.

Great Communication. Notified me before arrival and got to work upon arrival. Questions were answered with professionalism and with a smile. After getting a $2000 water bill, it was obvious there was a leak, but nothing was visible.  Ron came out right away.  We have a massive backyard, and he spent a couple of hours to find the source of the problem.  He drew a big circle with paint in said, dig here.  Sure enough, four feet down, invisible from the surface, there were two ruptured pipes in the EXACT area where Ron said it would be.  Thanks so much!

If I could give Ron 10 stars I would. If you are looking for leak detection in the SFV stop looking and just call Ron. Over the past 3 weeks we already had the DWP come out 5+ times, a contractor, a plumber and a friend, we were desperate to find out where the leak was that was causing my bill to be more than $500 than normal. Ron wasn't available when I first called it was a Thursday and he couldn't come until Monday. I still made the appointment with him and searched out other leak detection companies. Two other leak detection companies were available. One came out Thursday and another on Friday. Both were unable to find the leak. Ron came promptly at our appointment time. First he did the same as the others, I was weary thinking he was going to tell the same. Once he completed the same activities he then went to his van and pulled all sorts of different equipment. After a couple different machines some searching around he proposed the location of the leak (in the middle of our living room). I wasn't going to believe it until we had our contractor come out and break it open. Ron was spot on, maybe off by 6 inches but the contractor was able to dig a 2 foot long slim hole in order to repair. Thank you Ron I'm just glad I didn't have to re-pipe the whole house just to find it.

Arrived home from a 2 week vacation to find my wood floors buckling in my closet and bedroom. Looked on yelp to find a leak detection service and found sherlock. There aren't enough stars to give Ron for his service. He showed up quickly, found the leak almost immediately and walked me through the maze of what to do next. He recommended jms plumbing (another excellent service company) and a restoration company (911 restoration - another gem) to help with all of the damage.  Its really overwhelming when you dont know where to start but Ron was so calm and professional in his advice and spent as much time as i needed to help me to understand the next steps.  And then 2 weeks later i noticed a spot in a completely different location that i thought might be a problem and once again, although sadly it was in fact another leak, Ron was there to save the day.  Although i havent yet finished dealing with my issues, i have every confidence that between Ron, Jms, and 911, my house will eventually be back to its original condition.

Ron from Sherlock Leak came out promptly and quickly found our leak. It was three feet down under a brick walkway and 8 concrete slab and under gas lines and drain pipes. He located it to within inches. This was after a plumber said it was two leaks in totally different areas. This is the only company I would recommend for tough problems like this. Ron is a total professional.

They were great. Raanan answered the phone right away and was at my house within two hours of the call. The issue was detected and corrected within five minutes. He knew how to do what he needed to do and then he knew what should come next. I didn't know that leak detectives existed prior to my leak and now I know that if anything similar ever happens again, I'll be calling Sherlock. Completely trustworthy and competent.

They Found a leak that I haven't been able to find for months. I should have called months earlier. Well worth the fee. I spent more on water loss while trying to figure out where the leak was. I called at 6am and they called back at 8am per my request and was at my house at 11:30am per my request.

On sunday morning we noticed water on our tile floor. Our plumber said it was a slab leak and advised we contact a leak detection to mark the location so he can repair the pipe. I found Sherlock on Yelp and they answered my call on a Sunday and were able to schedule shortly after. The technician mark where the pipe is in the slab and listened with special microphones to mark the location of the leak. The best part is that he talked to my plumber and figured a way to re-pipe the line through the wall and avoid damaging the flooring and actually saved us a lot of money and minimize damages. I'm ery satisfied with the care and attention.

We had called a bunch of leak detection companies last minute yesterday for a house we are in escrow for. All the companies we spoke to didn't offer what we needed or couldn't make it out to us for a few hours.

I found Sherlock Leak Detection on yelp and called them! Ron answered my call and he offered what we needed and was at our house in 30 minutes!

He really knew what he was talking about and was very thorough in his report. We highly recommend him to everyone. My boyfriend even had him stop by his dads house when he was done with our house we are getting.

I had a pesky hot water problem -- the shower suddenly was only spraying cold water. After figuring out it wasn't a hot water heater problem but a leak in my hot water line,  I called Sherlock Leak Detection.

Like everyone else, I've dealt with bad/shady plumbers.  I scoured the web for reviews -- the most visible leak specialist had mostly 1 stars.  Sherlock had nearly all 5 stars.  So -- I gave them a call and they came out in about 90 minutes.

They knew their stuff -- and it was refreshing that they didn't try to sell me anything or play games.  The technician had the right equipment, knew what he was doing, and was able to find the leak in my home's concrete slab in about 30 minutes.  He was also willing to explain to me his approach, process, and how he would find the leak.  And, he showed me all of the details as he progressed through the process.  He located the leak within about 6 inches -- truly amazing given the leak was 6 inches under my wood floor (subflooring, and concrete slab)    

They aren't plumbers, they don't fix the leaks; they only find the leak.
While this may seem weird,  the benefit is that they won't play games and attempt to upsell you on unnecessary services. I was also pleased that their price was a fixed price (no ridiculous hourly rate).  

My plumber came and repaired the leak the next day -- and actually asked if he could have Sherlock Leak's number.

Wow! This company is the best! They don't overcharge you and they find the issues so quickly! They came out the same day that I cand found the issue within 15 minutes! I had already had someone else out there and they could not find the issue. Sherlock Leak Detection found it immediately. I would definitely call them! I'm so glad I did! So he came out when he said he would and like a ghostbuster had all his equipment. That said he destroyed my sprinklers, used all of his equipment including the precious hydrogen but never found the leak. He ended up charging me half price. All would have been fine had he not destroyed my sprinklers in an attempt the find the leak.

I called Sherlock Leak Detection when another leak detection company couldn't find our problem. The men from Sherlock were professional, showed up exactly when they promised, and they pinpointed the leak in our landscape (under a concrete slab) that no one else was able to find. It took them about an hour to find the source of our large water bills. Thank you, Sherlock!

As a Realtor for over 36 years, it has always been my business practice to seek out the BEST and most responsible, professional service providers should I be called upon to make a referral to my clients.  Ron has just become one of my trusted referral professionals! This decision is the result of a mystery leak in my own home!  January, 2018 we received our DWP bill and were slammed by the amount of water usage and charges we were being billed for!  I quickly sought the advice of my home inspector and he said call leak detection.  I called the company I had used and referred in the past and set an appointment.  However, I had referred this company to my neighbor.  They called me so disappointed with the service provided by my referral I felt terrible!  I got on my computer and started to look for alternative leak detection companies. I picked Sherlock Leak Detection and gave Ron a call.  Having been in business for as long as I have and seen so many plumbing issues arise in the homes my clients were contracted to purchase or to sell, my conversation with Ron about his services gave me a degree of comfort.  My first impression was that I could be dealing with a Professional! I had an issue at my home where my insurance adjuster wanted me to check for a slab leak.  So I went to Yelp to look for a company and Sherlock Leak Detection had top reviews.  The technician that came out was named Amit.  Amit is a very nice and personable guy.  He explained the whole leak detection process as he went through it which I thought was very professional. Amit was able to determine there was not a slab leak and substantiate the findings of the restoration company that the water had traveled from another location.  I would definitely use Sherlock Leak Detection again.  I highly recommend this company.

Nothing short of spectacular. They came out on a Saturday, gave a fixed amount before coming and when the issue was difficult to resolve, he kept a great attitude and stayed until he found the leak.  

I was shocked that he did not ask for more money.  I will use them if I ever have another leak in need of finding.

I discovered I had a leak on 12-1-14.  Based on other reviews, I contacted Sherlock and Ron came out promptly.  He made quick work of locating the leak which allowed me to contact my plumber right away.  He also referred me to Voge Inc for water restoration services (I've also left a review for them).  He reassured me during a stressful time and was extremely professional and knowledgeable.  I would definitely recommend his services to anyone in need.

In late June, just before the 4th of July weekend, we had a slab leak in our entry/kitchen area, with significant flooding during the night, before the we discovered the leak. Sherlock Leak Detection provided prompt,courteous  and professional service, using thermal imaging to quickly find the source of the leak, minimizing further damage to the walls and kitchen cabinetry, and allowing us to move forward with pipe repair and restoration work.  Ron was extremely helpful, competent, and reassuring - we highly recommend Sherlock Leak Detection.

Ron is a true expert and did a fantastic job detecting a hot water leak in our home. Our home warranty company sent a plumber who tried his best for an hour but could not figure out the problem. The next day we had Ron come out to take a look. 10 minutes on the job and he identified the exact leak location and gave us tips on how best to proceed. Raanan (Ron) Bennaim, the owner of Sherlock Leak Detectives was MOST helpful in successfully locating our underground water leak. Ron was prompt, efficient and most of all, friendly, courteous and professional. Also easy to approach with inquiries. Yes, I would definitely highly recommend him and his entire company!  (My ONLY regret is that Sherlock Leak Detectives were not able to repair the underground leak once it was located; I know that NO leak detection companies will perform that service.  However, Ron did provide two highly regarded plumbers for me to utilize.)  BRAVO, Ron and Company!

We noticed that some spots in the laundry room and the in the adjacent guest bath felt slightly warm when we walked over them wearing socks or with bare feet.  Over several weeks the heat was definitely more noticeable.  We did a google search of the symptoms and to our dismay it described the possibility of a hot water line leak under the slab foundation.  We called Ron at Sherlock Leak Detectives and he was very professional and helpful over the phone.  We made an appointment for the same day and he arrived as promised.

Ron is very thorough and he explains every step of the process.  He uses high tech equipment and is very tenacious in trying to locate the leak.  You can tell that he is not just going through the motions, but instead really cares about trying to isolate the leak.  He uses high tech infrared detection, sound isolation with high tech microphones, and put pressurized air into your pipes to further confirm the sounds of leakage under the slab foundation.  Ron even came back two days later after I called him and expressed lingering concerns that there may be more than one leak location.  Ron showed up and very thoroughly went through the entire process again and confirmed that there was only one leak site.  I asked him what the charge was for his second visit and he refused to charge me saying that it was part of his job to make sure the I was satisfied.

The next day my plumber came out and found the leak under the slab exactly where Ron had isolated the sound.  They repaired the leak by re-sectioning the portion of the copper pipe.  It was a relatively major plumbing problem, but disaster averted due to early detection.  Thanks Ron!!

Ron is an extremely talented and gifted leak detector.  Nobody likes waking up to a flooded living room. Ron was able to determine where the leaks were and identified the remediation steps. If that happens to you, I highly recommend you contact Ron of Sherlock Leak Detection and engage him in services immediately.

My story isn't really that simple. I called a plumbing crew which proclaimed to offer leak detection.  We discovered that they were not equipped to assess and determine in home leaks. After the failed approach of watching people without the right tools or the skills to try to assess what to do I immediately turned to Ron.

Ron quickly identified the leaks and shared information that a plumbing company required to further the investigation and address mitigation.

Very professional service and dedicated to determining the cause of the leak. Love that they show up with a plumber who then can fix the leak immediately. They also recommended a great restoration company. I wish my insurance company would move as fast as Sherlock leak detection, the plumber and the restoration company. Well, nothing like having your water bill doubling in one month to make you rush to the phone to get some help. The Water Dept. verified not them so the leak must be somewhere on my property. Leak detection definitely not something can do myself so checked Yelp for a local person with the best review and fair prices. Can tell you now that if you are looking for someone knowledgeable and honest that Ron at Sherlock Leak Detection is your guy. The work performed was done expertly & efficiently. He took his time and ruled out every possibility before deciding where the leak (unfortunately) was. Your home is your biggest investment and finding (and fixing) a problem to protect that investment is only smart. Choosing Sherlock Leak Detection is a smart choice too.

Ron was the second person I called to come out for a leak in my yard. The first company came out twice before calling it a day becuz he couldn't find it. So I researched again and found Ron. This time I was specific in my questions on how and what equipment he had to find my leak (listening/sound equipment is important). The leak was under either grass, asphalt or cement and my house is on about 1/3 of an acre, and it's a challenge for anyone. It prob took Ron longer than he thought, maybe a little over an hour, but he FOUND it! He heard noise under the cement in my backyard, and then asked if he can drill a small hole in the seam to stick a long rod in. When the rod came out, it was wet. I had plumbers come out and an old capped off galvanized pipe was worn and leaking! Look no further, call Ron if you need to find any kind of leak!

I called Ron last night based on referrals and reviews. He called back within hours and came out on a Sunday night.

We had hot kitchen tiles that had gotten warmer.  It was indicated that we had a slab leak.  Ron used high tech equipment to determine the general area of the leak. He was thorough and complete.  

We now have a plan to give our plumber to detect the exact place the leak is coming from.   He made himself available to further discuss options for repair with our plumber.  

I am hopeful that Ron's work will get the bottom of this to repair.

Excellent service.  We had a water leak identified by DWP and went to Yelp in search of a leak detection service.  Given Ron's very high rating I called and arranged for Ron to come visit.  He was excellent and did a very thorough job which in our case resulted in the identification of several difficult to find leaks.  His high Yelp ratings were justified and we were /are very satisfied with his professionalism, quality of his service, promptness and price.

On the phone said they don't work with infinity pools. Tech showed up and said our non-infinity pool was too much for them to deal with. Ask for photos or ask questions before making an appointment if there are certain types of pools OTHER than infinity pools that you don't work with. To be clear: despite this, we were not charged a service fee, but I lost money because I had to cancel a client to wait for them. Still a waste of our time for not asking very simple questions. Sorry you had to pay for gas from Woodland Hills to Calabasas. You can write off the $6

We had a slab leak in a pipe under the kitchen floor. The first plumber that came tried to find the leak and opened the floor in two different places, but could not find it. Then we had to call a second plumber who recommended we contact Sherlock to accurately locate the leak. I didn't even know there is such a specialty called leak detection. The second plumber explained to me that they use special equipment that usually plumbers do not have because it requires special training and experience.

Sherlock located a tiny pinhole leak in the pipe and it was fixed in no time. Raanan the owner explained to me that the leak made such a loud noise because the hole in the pipe was very small and the water pressure in the house was and, that is why the leak was so hard to locate, it was noisy all over the house.

Anyway I was very happy with the service and impressed with their expertise.

Ron was awesome.  I became aware of a leak during the weekend.  While other service providers often have answering services and are generally unavailable, Ron was prompt to take a weekend call, late into the evening.  He was good about responding and got out to my house in short order.   He took the time to explain the process and put me at ease by identifying the exact location and solution.  All is good now!

Having an occult leak in your house should always be an emergency.
Unlike his competitors who could not be available for a whole week, Ron treated my situation as one, or maybe I was just lucky he had an opening on the same day when I called.  He came up, looked around the property, and honed in on the spot in question.  It turned out to be a deeper problem as my plumber will ultimately attest to.  But, Ron located the leak, spot-on as it turned out.  He was very professional, and addressed all my curiosities along the way.  And, as expensive as the whole leak detection business is, Ron's service was noticeably less costly than those other franchised companies.  I hope I never have to use his services again, but if my house were to spring another occult leak, I will have no reservation calling Ron for his help.

Appreciate that when they came to see me and realized that they could not help i.e. leak was not at a level where they could detect it, Ron graciously waived the fee after I had paid it and returned the check.  Only feedback would be that before they come to verify it is something that their services can help with. I do have a slight leak but it is not at a level where detection companies can help.  When that is the case I will certainly contact Sherlock Leak Detection.

There should be a SIX STAR RATING for Ron (Raanan) Bennaim at Sherlock Leak Detection.
We called him on a holiday weekend for a second opinion for my elderly mother-in-law who had been told the week before by another plumbing company that she needed to repipe her entire house. For a very reasonable fixed price, Ron came out on a Sunday and inspected her pipes and drains. There was no upsell or creative price adjusting as with the original plumber. Ron gave us a fair price estimate, conducted a thorough inspection and honored his quote.

Ron inspected all four of her bathrooms and found that there was NOT a major leak - just a leaky bathtub. His thorough testing and analysis showed that she did NOT need to repipe. Ron saved her THOUSANDS of dollars. This was a relief both financially and emotionally because we discovered later that the disreputable plumber who had previously inspected her pipes the week before and gave her a $9,000 quote to repipe had limited his inspection to only one bathroom.

More importantly, because my mother-in-law did have a water issue under her hardwood floors caused by faulty work done by the same plumber several months before, Ron connected her with a local restoration company that was experienced in working with her State Farm insurance adjuster. To our delight, this restoration company would take care of the clean up, restoration and move out -- with all services being potentially covered by her insurance.

So YES without a doubt, we whole heartedly recommend Ron and Sherlock Lead Detection.

My wife noticed how nice and warm the floor was in the kitchen, where it hadn't been before. I noticed hot water flowing from a faucet almost immediately, where before it had taken over a minute to arrive.

Uh-oh...

Called a trusted plumber and was referred to Ron at Sherlock. He came out quickly and took his time to find our leak, which was small, but had started to buckle the laminate floor in the kitchen.

Ron is exceedingly professional and no-nonsense. He knows his job very well. If you suspect a leak, he will find it.

While I hope to never need his services again, I highly recommend him without hesitation.

I called Ron last night based on referrals and reviews. He called back within hours and came out on a Sunday night.

We had hot kitchen tiles that had gotten warmer.  It was indicated that we had a slab leak.  Ron used high tech equipment to determine the general area of the leak. He was thorough and complete.  

We now have a plan to give our plumber to detect the exact place the leak is coming from.   He made himself available to further discuss options for repair with our plumber.  

I am hopeful that Ron's work will get the bottom of this to repair.

I had an issue at my home where my insurance adjuster wanted me to check for a slab leak.  So I went to Yelp to look for a company and Sherlock Leak Detection had top reviews.  The technician that came out was named Amit.  Amit is a very nice and personable guy.  He explained the whole leak detection process as he went through it which I thought was very professional. Amit was able to determine there was not a slab leak and substantiate the findings of the restoration company that the water had traveled from another location.  I would definitely use Sherlock Leak Detection again.  I highly recommend this company.

Great results and great follow up.  The first leak detection company I called failed to find the reason my meter was constantly spinning.  So, I called Sherlock.  Ron responded quickly, and was able to narrow down the problem to a small area under my driveway, which, given that the mater main pipe is PVC (making leak detection difficult), was extremely helpful.  His guidance enabled me to get the problem solved quickly.   He reached out twice after the visit to make sure that I had all I needed to get it fixed.  I appreciated that too.

Ron from Sherlock Leak Detectives came to our residence on Sunday March 2nd, 2014. He was very professional, informative helpful over the phone when I called to arrange him to look at our water leak problem. He came in and he was as pleasant and easy to talk to as he was on the phone. He has done and exceptional job to find the leak at ones under the sink cabinet. I was so relieved that we did not had to cut the wood flooring and the concrete in the middle of the kitchen, when  originally we thought to do so. He pin pointed the leak under the cabinet and our repair man cut the bottom of the cabinet, the concrete below that and repaired it quickly. We were in a desperate state. A leak inside the cement slab was detected because we could feel the heat that radiated (110-120 degrees) but didn't know exactly where the leak was originating. To compound the issue, we had very few left over marble tiles (they were imported). We didn't want the contractor to just start breaking tiles with a hope and a prayer of landing on the pipe and the spot of the leak. So when Ron came the very next morning, we were nervous. It took effort to find this leak. He told us that it was a small leak, but he did not just want to give us a rough idea. After a bit of detective work, he marked the spot. We were hopeful. The next day our contractor came. He opened that one tile, jackhammered and dug. X did mark the spot! And yes, it was a small rupture. I am very grateful for Ron. He saved us time and money. Highly recommend the company. Don't look elsewhere.

Our water bill increased tremendously while we were away on vacation.  The water department confirmed we had a leak somewhere in the house.  We had hot spots in the kitchen so that gave us a clue where the leak is. We called Ron from Sherlock Leak Detection.  With the help of some very interesting tools he pinpointed the leak to be under our island kitchen's sink.  He marked the spot and referred us to an excellent plumber.  The plumber dug where the pipe is supposed to be based on the marks of the leak detector, but the pipe wasn't there.  We called Ron and he came in right away.  He located the pipe and stuck around until the leak was visible to the eye.  Ron is a true professional and an expert in his field.  You can trust him to be on your side until the problem is solved.

Ron came out in a timely manner and spent 90 minutes attempting to diagnose a very tricky leak problem. As said before he was very transparent about what was possible and what was not but gave it everything he had to diagnose and with a tentative diagnosis in place, a possible plan on how to proceed. Never want to have to call upon him in the future but should I spring a future unidentifiable leak in the house, he'll be the first person I call.

Ron is hands down the go-to professional for the job.

When he arrives I can tell he's already mapping out the piping  in relation to the house and starts to work the problem and narrow down the source of the problem/leak- Right away that tells me that he is he a master of his craft.

I used his services twice, once last year and once now.

He located a shower pan leak in my master bathroom last year that was very difficult to locate without his help and we were able to repair it.

Just recently I had a bad pressure regulator and a faulty toilet that was causing issues with my meter and he was able to assure me that I did not have a leak or worse a slab leak in my house.

To top it off, Ron has all the sophisticated tools to listen and look for leaks but what really sets him apart from others is his pride for the job and his experience.

The charge for the service was outrageous. $100 for telling me, that they couldn't check if there were leaks because the pipes are plastic and they couldn't check it. So they charge a 100 dollars to tell me they couldn't check anything. I called them because they supposedly had the technology to check any type of pipes. A rip-off.

He has a job that is hard to do well and when you need the service your usually upset but I am so happy I had his number when facing another unknown water leak. We had a previous company that came over and marked the leak in the concrete under the vanity. The previous company suggested we demolition the vanity, which we did, only to find that they were completely off with diagnosis of the broken pipe!!!!

I called Ron as I found him on google for leak detection and he was local and I prefer to do business locally.  I actually cancelled my appointment as I know my leak is in the slab and repairing it is going to cost half as much as repiping the whole house.  (Once galvanized goes it continues to go)   Ron lives in the area and still stopped by my house on his way home and used the infrared camera to look for water and detect the leak at no charge since he was driving past anyway.   He was so nice and professional and he agreed with me that repiping is the best bet.  I have a friend who is plumber that I am going to be using and let Ron know this but he still made it a point to stop by and check the leak to make sure I was not in any serious trouble or need a water damage person to come.  I cannot thank him enough!   (Ron  THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN!)   I am so impressed that Ron still stopped by even know I was not paying him to make sure I was ok.

I've used Sherlock Leak Detection twice and received EXCELLENT service both times. Ron was punctual, courteous, and above all, COMPETENT - 100% professional. I found a small warm spot in my room and little water in my walk-in closet. I was unsure if its a slab leak since i checked water bill and water meter but everything was normal. But its always a good thing to make sure from an experienced professional than to doubt yourself. I asked a quote from Ron and he came out the next morning. He was really thorough and detailed and explained everything to me if there are signs that a slab leak could give. He gave me the assurance that the water didnt come from the ground. Although Im not sure where the waters coming from yet but Im really grateful for Ron to go beyond the means to help me. The city notified me that my water meter was continuously running.  Did all the leak tests per city recommendation but couldn't find where it was.  I randomly contacted Ron based on the outstanding YELP reviews I've read.  It was easy to set up a schedule with him.  In fact, he was able to come the same day I called him.  He was very thorough in his assessment and used his instruments/gadgets to find the problem spot.  It didn't take him long to find out the leaking pipe under the concrete slab behind my garage.  It was amazing he quickly determined the problem. We noticed a slow leak dripping from the ceiling. Ron at Sherlock Leak came out immediately on a Sunday afternoon. He used an infrared device to find the leak and then went into the attic to quickly diagnose the problem. He was informative, trustworthy and more than fair with his prices. I turned to Sherlock Leak Detection after a few mishaps with the plumbers my home warranty company sent out, who are not actually leak detectors but won't mind charging the customer  for it.  I read reviews on Yelp and two independent plumbers referred me to him.  Ron is a professional.  He is punctual and is very good at what he does.  He brought in special equipment to listen to the water.  He marked the location of the leak.  Cost was $295.  My whole family room didn't have to be torn a part to fix the leak thanks to him.  Going through an in slab leak is no fun and very stressful, so finding a qualified person to do the job is important.  I highly recommend him.  He also answered my phone calls and emails even after the job was done when I needed additional advice.

I have nothing but great things to say about Sherlock Leak Detectives.

Recently I heard water rushing inside one of our walls.  I called Hotline Plumbing (see separate review) and they called Sherlock to come out and find the problem.  Even though this was late afternoon/early evening on a Sunday, Sherlock Leak Detectives came out quickly and found the burst pipe right away.

I hope you never have to face a burst pipe, but if you do, I highly recommend Sherlock Leak Detectives!

I would like to thank Ron.  It is so nice to find an honest person.  On mother's day, I saw water leaking in the garage which is adjacent to a downstairs shower.  
He listened and told me you need a plumber and only after the plumber cannot find the leak, which is probably the drain, then you call me.
Yes, it was the drain; took 2 experienced plumbers to get it and Ron saved me $$.
He could have just come and charged me but did not.

Unfortunately, I needed a leak detection company to help me find a landscape leak. I looked on line and left a request for service from another big company and never heard back. Then I came across Sherlock Leak Detection and was impressed with their reviews. I ended up leaving a message for Ron, who called me back the same day. He made an appointment for a couple days later. Both Ron and Amit showed up on time and spent several hours trying to find the leak. Because the leak is outside and might be under concrete, it was a very difficult situation. They suggested I have a sub-meter installed so that they could pressurize the line. After I did that, Ron and Amit returned to try again. This time they were able to determine the most likely cause of the leak and what direction I should go to resolve it. Bottom line with these guys: They were very professional, courteous, and reliable, not to mention very reasonable in their price. I would use them again and not hesitate to refer others to them. Seriously, Ron and Amit are the best. Look no further.

Ron came out to assess a leak I had going on in my backyard. I called just about noon, and he was able to come out around an hour after I called.  
He checked the back yard water lines, then also showed me that the water meter was slowly moving, indicating an active leak going on.  He checked my sprinkler valves outside and found that one of those was making noise even when it was completely off.  
Professional, informative, got a quick response, and he's got a good sense of humor. I would definitely use, and recommend, their services in the future.

The Sherlock guys arrived at the house right on time and listened what I had to say.  They went right to work and did their due diligence of the house since I had no plumbing plans of the original buildout.  They started to field survey and was able to narrow down where the leak was within 30 minutes.  I highly recommend this group for any residential leak detection that you may need.

I called them to check about the pool leak detection and the guy told me that they don't service for the swimming pools.

But the question and answer on the Yelp page they have mentioned that they do check  swimming pool leaks but only in San Fernando Valley.

Amazing!!  I have a device (Flume) that tells me if water is being used even thoughI don't actively have any water running inside or outside the house.  Looking at your water meter does the same thing, but this device actually gives you notifications on your phone.  Anyway, the device alerted me to a leak of about 13 gallons/hour.  I looked everywhere for the leak, inside and outside and couldn't find it.  Nothing was visible.  After calling Sherlock, Ron came out in an hour or so and found the leak within 30 minutes.  First, he narrowed the problem down to the outside, which was a big relief.  Then, after methodically evaluating various possibilities, he determined that the source of the leak was a faulty auto-fill device inside a pond skimmer.  He is an absolute pro.  He track leaks incredibly fast, is a genuinely nice guy, and has specialized equipment to assist in the investigation. As a realtor, I like to find the best people for my clients. This time, I needed the help. Thank you to Ron for answering the phone on the weekend and coming with the infrared camera and sound detectors. He doesn't do the work so there isn't a conflict of interest. I got a notice from the city saying that there was a leak in my house somewhere. I had my plumber check for it and he said as far as he could tell there was no leak. But the city representative insisted that there was. Sherlock used their fancy tools and found a small leak under the concrete in my backyard which I then had repaired by another plumber. I knew I had a leak somewhere as my water bill was high, for several months, and after changing out a couple toilets and still having a high bill I started to have problems with a tankless water heater that would not come on.  When I checked it out I could hear water flowing through the hot water line even when everything was shut off.  I installed all the plumbing 20 years ago during a remodel so I knew the layout of the plulmbing and since I was seeing no signs of a leak or warm floor I was nervous and knew I needed someone to really confirm I had a leaky pipe under the slab.  I looked for leak detection specialists and was hesitant about many of the plumbers that advertise leak detection because I know most are not equipped or trained to do the level of leak detection I needed.  I called Ron at 6:30am on a Saturday and he called back within about an hour.  He was able to come out by 9:00am so this was fast.  Once there he set up his equipment (pretty sophisticated stuff that enables him to trace the line and then listen for the leak, even though it is 3' underground. )  Within 45 minutes he had identified the location of the leak and even let me listen on his equipment to confirm the leak.  Then he suggested a couple different options to repair the leak and ensure it did  not leak again  in the future.  This was great information that now enables me to find a plumbing contractor to come and quote a specific job and not fall victim to a plumber suggesting a very expensive and disruptive solution.

Ron is the best! He is professional and does excellent work. He has a job that is hard to do well and when you need the service your usually upset but I am so happy I had his number when facing another unknown water leak. Our water bill increased tremendously while we were away on vacation.  The water department confirmed we had a leak somewhere in the house.  We had hot spots in the kitchen so that gave us a clue where the leak is. We called Ron from Sherlock Leak Detection.  With the help of some very interesting tools he pinpointed the leak to be under our island kitchen's sink.  He marked the spot and referred us to an excellent plumber.  The plumber dug where the pipe is supposed to be based on the marks of the leak detector, but the pipe wasn't there.  We called Ron and he came in right away.  He located the pipe and stuck around until the leak was visible to the eye.  Ron is a true professional and an expert in his field.  You can trust him to be on your side until the problem is solved.

Ron came out within the hour on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend with a minimal emergency surcharge that was well worth the extra cost.  He was knowledgeable all-around, thorough, reassuring and didn't tack on any unnecessary services.  I was following up from a slab leak that had occurred five months earlier and appreciated the quick peace of mind Ron gave me that the problem had not returned.  Knowing now the difference between Ron's customer service and the first company I used back in March -- I will make Sherlock Leak Detection my one and only call in the future if I should ever need their services again.

Ron is great!  Fit me in the day after I called.
I have back to back showers in my house and I saw a wet spot outside the house in a dirt patch.  We have a slab foudation so I thought it might be running off from there.  

Ron came out and used scanners in both bathrooms but found not evidence of a leak. We ran water in both bathrooms and he checked outside, but no leak.  He dug into the ground a bit by the foundation and double checked that the foundation above was dry so we know it's not coming from the inside.  It could just be residual wetness from the rains or something else but not from plumbing.

He then turned the water off to the house but our meter kept running so we thought there might be another leak outside (our water bill has been high).  We discoverd the pool autofill was stuck in the fill position so it was over filling the pool and wasting water.  Very happy to get that corrected.

I had a leak in my landscaping pipes and most leak detection companies I called told me that it would be very difficult to find leaks in PVC and had extremely high quotes. I called Sherlock Leak Detection, and Ron was very optimistic that he can locate the leak quickly and quoted me a price that was less than half of the lowest I had from several other companies I had called.  Needless to say, I was very skeptical. Ron showed up and found the leak in almost an acre of landscaping in less than an hour.  What a pleasant surprise! Ron is the man for leak detection; he is the best at what he does, has a positive attitude and humble at the same time. He is the best!

Ron is a true expert and did a fantastic job detecting a hot water leak in our home. Our home warranty company sent a plumber who tried his best for an hour but could not figure out the problem. Ron is awesome! I worried about a slab leak and called him at 6 am on a Saturday. He returned the call shortly and was at my house by 8:30 am. He had sophisticated equipment and knew exactly what he was doing. Ron is hands down the go-to professional for the job.

When he arrives I can tell he's already mapping out the piping  in relation to the house and starts to work the problem and narrow down the source of the problem/leak- Right away that tells me that he is he a master of his craft.

I used his services twice, once last year and once now.

He located a shower pan leak in my master bathroom last year that was very difficult to locate without his help and we were able to repair it.

Just recently I had a bad pressure regulator and a faulty toilet that was causing issues with my meter and he was able to assure me that I did not have a leak or worse a slab leak in my house.

To top it off, Ron has all the sophisticated tools to listen and look for leaks but what really sets him apart from others is his pride for the job and his experience.

I called them to check about the pool leak detection and the guy told me that they don't service for the swimming pools.

But the question and answer on the Yelp page they have mentioned that they do check  swimming pool leaks but only in San Fernando Valley.

My review is based only on the services provided that they have mentioned but they denied to do it

Ron is an extremely talented and gifted leak detector.  Nobody likes waking up to a flooded living room. Ron was able to determine where the leaks were and identified the remediation steps. If that happens to you, I highly recommend you contact Ron of Sherlock Leak Detection and engage him in services immediately.

My story isn't really that simple. I called a plumbing crew which proclaimed to offer leak detection.  We discovered that they were not equipped to assess and determine in home leaks. After the failed approach of watching people without the right tools or the skills to try to assess what to do I immediately turned to Ron.

Ron quickly identified the leaks and shared information that a plumbing company required to further the investigation and address mitigation.

Called them early in the morning and was able to get the inspection a few hours later for an outside line leak. My whole patio is tiled so it was important for me to pinpoint the leak. Ron used his gadgets and marked two tiles where the leak was detected. He also pointed which tile to remove first. Next day the plumber removed the tile and sure enough, there was the leak on two different spots on a plastic pipe. Being accurate minimized the repair work and repair costs. Amazing!!  I have a device (Flume) that tells me if water is being used even thoughI don't actively have any water running inside or outside the house.  Looking at your water meter does the same thing, but this device actually gives you notifications on your phone.  Anyway, the device alerted me to a leak of about 13 gallons/hour.  I looked everywhere for the leak, inside and outside and couldn't find it.  Nothing was visible.  After calling Sherlock, Ron came out in an hour or so and found the leak within 30 minutes.  First, he narrowed the problem down to the outside, which was a big relief.  Then, after methodically evaluating various possibilities, he determined that the source of the leak was a faulty auto-fill device inside a pond skimmer.  He is an absolute pro.  He track leaks incredibly fast, is a genuinely nice guy, and has specialized equipment to assist in the investigation. I would absolutely call Ron again for a suspected leak. No way I'd call another tradesperson without special leak detection skills and experience.  Thanks Ron and Sherlock for great work!

I want to give a fair and honest review here. They were very responsive and efficient - I reached out at 7pm and they had someone on site at 9am the next day. Unfortunately the spot they marked was about 5 feet away from the leak and caused me to tear up a portion of my concrete that didn't need to be torn up, which then added to my repair costs afterward. My plumber dug 3 feet down from the spot and there were not even pipes under the marked location, then ended up finding the leak in a different location essentially right where the pipes left my house and went underground. The technician came back out to look at it and told me he just overthought it. The business owner was responsive and immediately refunded the cost of the inspection, which was appreciated. I found them to be honest and professional, and they did the right thing by refunding me. But I wouldn't feel comfortable hiring them again if I had another leak based on my first experience.

Highly recommended. Ron is great, super helpful and very upfront about what they can and can't do. We had a copper pipe leak in the concrete slab under our dining room and he was able to identify a 24 span of 1 pipe that had a tiny but destructive pinhole. As well he was able to trace a recirculation line for us so we could reroute the slab portion of our hot water system. I would definitely use him again.

I am re-writing my review from previous as the owner, Ron, did spend the time to reach out to me to discuss my experience. There was a bit of miscommunication from the Tech that he wanted to explain. He was very professional and truly apologetic for any misunderstanding. When I first called he explained what would be done to look for the leak and as they had to come back a 2nd time (due to some plumbing work I was having done)  only charged me part of the fee the first time and the remainder the 2nd time. So I happened to check our DWP bill online (I don't usually see it because it's set on paperless auto pay) expecting it to be lower than what it was during the summer since I had turned down all the irrigation to ¼ back in September. So I was surprised to see the water usage had practically doubled up. We had just fully renovated this circa 1926 house in 2017 so I knew all the pipes in the house we're good, and having a background myself in construction, I kinda know what to look for. There were no visual leaks, no leaking toilets or faucets, and no mud spots that I could see around the property. Time to call a specialized expert. I found Sherlock on Yelp and called them because of their reviews and after Amit and Keeva came out last Thursday, I must say the reviews are on point. They came on time and with a great attitude. Within 15 minutes on property, they had narrowed the problem down to some sprinkler control valves. After more troubleshooting, they pinpointed it to the valves' supply line. I dug the area out  yesterday and there it was, a coupling had come apart a foot and half underground. I would have never have found it and it had been leaking for almost 6 months according to our water usage history.  Amit and Keeva knew their stuff and we had great conversation during the process. Appreciate that when they came to see me and realized that they could not help i.e. leak was not at a level where they could detect it, Ron graciously waived the fee after I had paid it and returned the check.  Only feedback would be that before they come to verify it is something that their services can help with. I do have a slight leak but it is not at a level where detection companies can help.  When that is the case I will certainly contact Sherlock Leak Detection.

Ron came on time gave his expert opinion of my problem and never gave me any run around. Very honest and Trustworthy. I highly recommend their service. I had a concrete slab that had moisture causing mold to grow underneath my laminate flooring. I would like to thank Ron.  It is so nice to find an honest person.  On mother's day, I saw water leaking in the garage which is adjacent to a downstairs shower.  
He listened and told me you need a plumber and only after the plumber cannot find the leak, which is probably the drain, then you call me.
Yes, it was the drain; took 2 experienced plumbers to get it and Ron saved me $$.
He could have just come and charged me but did not.

Like many other reviewers have commented, this service was exceptional. I left a voice message late Wednesday. Ron called me back within an hour. Amit came at the promised time on Friday. Stuck it out crawling under the house until he found that the pool fill line didn't shut off properly and was the source of our mystery water use. Amit charged only what Ron had quoted me. Today, my plumber replaced the pool fill valve. The meter out front no longer registers mystery water use!!!

If I've been premature in my praise, I will post again. If the problem has been solved, I couldn't be more effusive and appreciative.

If I could give Ron 10 stars I would. If you are looking for leak detection in the SFV stop looking and just call Ron. Over the past 3 weeks we already had the DWP come out 5+ times, a contractor, a plumber and a friend, we were desperate to find out where the leak was that was causing my bill to be more than $500 than normal. Ron wasn't available when I first called it was a Thursday and he couldn't come until Monday. I still made the appointment with him and searched out other leak detection companies. Two other leak detection companies were available. One came out Thursday and another on Friday. Both were unable to find the leak. Ron came promptly at our appointment time. First he did the same as the others, I was weary thinking he was going to tell the same. Once he completed the same activities he then went to his van and pulled all sorts of different equipment. After a couple different machines some searching around he proposed the location of the leak (in the middle of our living room). I wasn't going to believe it until we had our contractor come out and break it open. Ron was spot on, maybe off by 6 inches but the contractor was able to dig a 2 foot long slim hole in order to repair. Thank you Ron I'm just glad I didn't have to re-pipe the whole house just to find it.

As difficult as it is to have to call for leak detection, Ron makes the process much less frustrating and painful. He is extremely professional and efficient. For the second time this year, we had a leak in our house we've only lived in for a year. The first was a slab leak in the entry. Ron came the same day, found the leak in minutes, and gave me a great referral for a restoration company. This time there was water in our garage. I knew who to call and Ron was again available the same day. He came out, quickly found the leak and I'm now waiting for the plumber to come and fix the problem. 100% hands down satisfied! Great company! Answered immediately when we called about an emergency water leak under our home. Came over within a few hours to assess and locate the leak. Put tape on the floor, marked where it was coming from and found it so fast. Also, has companies he works with to fix such a bad problems . Really respectful, when Ron the owner arrived. He was polite and waited at the door to be invited in. Those kinds of things are noticed and customers appreciate that. Handed me his card as he entered to identify himself and company.  It was all done so quickly and we are grateful. We have filled our claim and need to move to get this all fixed. But I give 5 stars all around and would use this company again !

We had an area in our backyard that was always wet and we couldn't figure it out.

Ron returned my call promptly. He sent out Josh for leak detection.  We already knew the leak is somewhere between the city main shut off and the house's main shutoff. The problem is the leak is somewhere underneath very thick concrete or the shrubs.  
Josh came and used his leak detection equipment trying to locate the leak. After about 45 minutes he was pretty certain where the leak was deep under the concrete. So I have to contact my handyman to come next day to expose the concrete to confirm the leak. Sure enough after digging deep into the ground my handyman found the leak.
Josh even offer to come the following day to talk to my handyman before he started digging. Very professional level of service.

I turned to Sherlock Leak Detection after a few mishaps with the plumbers my home warranty company sent out, who are not actually leak detectors but won't mind charging the customer  for it.  I read reviews on Yelp and two independent plumbers referred me to him.  Ron is a professional.  He is punctual and is very good at what he does.  He brought in special equipment to listen to the water.  He marked the location of the leak.  Cost was $295.  My whole family room didn't have to be torn a part to fix the leak thanks to him.  Going through an in slab leak is no fun and very stressful, so finding a qualified person to do the job is important.  I highly recommend him.  He also answered my phone calls and emails even after the job was done when I needed additional advice.

Ron from Sherlock Leak came out promptly and quickly found our leak. It was three feet down under a brick walkway and 8 concrete slab and under gas lines and drain pipes. He located it to within inches. This was after a plumber said it was two leaks in totally different areas. This is the only company I would recommend for tough problems like this. Was quoted a price range, came the very next day, found a leak. Later the leak was found just where he predicted. When company quote you are price range, many actually charge you the higher rate. Sherlock Leak Detection charged me the lowest, as my leak detection was easy. Still for Saturday, emergency service, he could of billed me more if he wanted to, but he didn't.  Great service, very knowledgeable guy, I would strongly recommend. Don't risk hoping your Plummer would find the underground leak to save some money.

I found Sherlock Leak Detectives/Ron through Yelp.  After reading the positive reviews, I called Ron right away.  He answered the phone (it didn't goto some answering service or voicemail!).  He was very professional, polite, and nice over the phone.  I knew right away that I called the right person.  I made an appointment and he was punctual.  He even confirmed the afternoon before which I liked.  Once he came to the house, he found the exact point of leak within 20 minutes!  Yes, the big water pipe leak was under the concrete.  He is amazing!  He made few suggestions on what I should do.  He is so knowledgeable.  I welcomed his suggestions since I was a bit shocked at how big the leak was.  What I also liked is that he works with the City and knew the right person to call to have the water shut off.  He charged me for what he quoted over the phone.  No extra fees.  I found Ron to be very professional, take pride in his work, and want to help customers like me who was facing a big repair. Another one for Sherlock leak Detection.

Realized we had noise in the back of our property but no standing water and no signs of any leaking.
Doing the normal tests confirmed there was water running somewhere.
Ra'anan was called upon in the morning and by noon he had a tech on site searching for the leak.
His tech marked the area. Around the Clock Plumbing came in and saved the day for us.
Jacked the concrete, excavated the dirt, located and repaired the leak, back filled and finished off the day in one quick swoop (from detecting to repairing).

Arrived home from a 2 week vacation to find my wood floors buckling in my closet and bedroom. Looked on yelp to find a leak detection service and found sherlock. There aren't enough stars to give Ron for his service. He showed up quickly, found the leak almost immediately and walked me through the maze of what to do next. He recommended jms plumbing (another excellent service company) and a restoration company (911 restoration - another gem) to help with all of the damage.  Its really overwhelming when you dont know where to start but Ron was so calm and professional in his advice and spent as much time as i needed to help me to understand the next steps.  And then 2 weeks later i noticed a spot in a completely different location that i thought might be a problem and once again, although sadly it was in fact another leak, Ron was there to save the day.  Although i havent yet finished dealing with my issues, i have every confidence that between Ron, Jms, and 911, my house will eventually be back to its original condition.

I got a notice from the city saying that there was a leak in my house somewhere. I had my plumber check for it and he said as far as he could tell there was no leak. But the city representative insisted that there was. Sherlock used their fancy tools and found a small leak under the concrete in my backyard which I then had repaired by another plumber. We had water coming out of our concrete in the back yard, this company was there the same day, on time.  The service and the recommendation on how to fix the leak was point on.   I highly recommend them.   One more thing, they quoted us an amount over the phone which was reasonable but they found the leak fairly fast they gave us a discount with me asking for it.

Beyond helpful! Called them after getting a notice about a possible leak from the water dept. Not only was Ron helpful over the phone but he was able to have Amit at my house within 2 hours. Amit was able to isolate the leak pretty quickly and tell us what he thought the problem was. He gave us a referral for a great plumber and before I could even call the plumber, he called me having received a call and pictures from Amit. It's now 2 days later and the leaky pipe was found, cement jackhammered, repair made and cement replaced. Thank you Sherlock Leak Detective for saving us and finding the problem!!!!

I found this company based on the Yelp reviews.  

However, their huge error (causing my plumbers repair bill to double) and Sherlock refusing to respond immediately to correct the error made me rate them this low.

I suspected a slab leak and hired Sherlock to locate it.  They responded, and I was told by them that I had a cold water slab leak in hallway of my entrance. (This is marked by an X in the house hallway picture.)

When the plumber responded and broke open the slab, the leak was no where to be found.  

I immediately called Sherlock and asked them to re respond and locate the leak which they mis diagnosed.  This was at noon on a  Monday.  I was then told that they were booked for the day and could not respond till 24 hours later.

I informed them that I had paid for their services a few days before, they badly misdiagnosed it and I requested they cancel a new job in order to take care of a job they previously failed at (mine.)  I was then told they had no one available.

I then called American Leak Detection in Ventura.  American Leak Detection's owner responded 45 minutes later and located the leak approximately 5 feet away from where Sherlock said it was.  This is marked by the lines at the foot of the step picture.  (As you can see by the pics, its way off.)

Now more demolition is needed, causing undue stress to my family.  This has significantly increased (doubled the cost)  of my slab leak repair, since the distance is so far off, the plumber is charging  me for a whole new slab demo,  repair and rough concrete.  

I emailed the Sherlock  asking for a refund, and still no response.

To Ron the Owner, please contact me and explain why a new customer is more of a priority than a customer that already paid for your services and you misdiagnosed, and how you will remedy the situation you have caused me.

Clearly for Sherlock, doing as many $300 leak detection jobs a day as possible is more of  priority than responding back to a customer that already paid you and correcting a huge error made by your technician.

We were in a desperate state. A leak inside the cement slab was detected because we could feel the heat that radiated (110-120 degrees) but didn't know exactly where the leak was originating. To compound the issue, we had very few left over marble tiles (they were imported). We didn't want the contractor to just start breaking tiles with a hope and a prayer of landing on the pipe and the spot of the leak. So when Ron came the very next morning, we were nervous. It took effort to find this leak. He told us that it was a small leak, but he did not just want to give us a rough idea. After a bit of detective work, he marked the spot. We were hopeful. The next day our contractor came. He opened that one tile, jackhammered and dug. X did mark the spot! And yes, it was a small rupture. I am very grateful for Ron. He saved us time and money. Highly recommend the company. Don't look elsewhere.

Ron is great!  Fit me in the day after I called.
I have back to back showers in my house and I saw a wet spot outside the house in a dirt patch.  We have a slab foudation so I thought it might be running off from there.  

Ron came out and used scanners in both bathrooms but found not evidence of a leak. We ran water in both bathrooms and he checked outside, but no leak.  He dug into the ground a bit by the foundation and double checked that the foundation above was dry so we know it's not coming from the inside.  It could just be residual wetness from the rains or something else but not from plumbing.

He then turned the water off to the house but our meter kept running so we thought there might be another leak outside (our water bill has been high).  We discoverd the pool autofill was stuck in the fill position so it was over filling the pool and wasting water.  Very happy to get that corrected.

Great service.  If you know you have a slab leak, these guys charge a flat fee for whatever they might encounter with your pipes. Whether they Break the concrete or reroute the leaking pipe. Other guys charge $300 just to come out and detect the leak. It could cost $1000 or more to fix.

Three years ago, we suffered a big water leakage and the first leaking detection guy pointed us to the wrong spot that wasted us time and money for useless digging.

Then Ron arrived, recommended highly by a friend, and quickly, confidently pointed us to the right spot that was leaking and proposed an elegant solution to the plumbers to fix the problem.

Days ago we experienced another suspected leakage due to the jump of almost 50% water usage in our water bill.

I told our HOA that there is only one guy can help us to find the leakage, and that is Ron, even we have to wait for him for 4 days due to his busy schedule.

We waited and he showed up as scheduled

There should be a SIX STAR RATING for Ron (Raanan) Bennaim at Sherlock Leak Detection.
We called him on a holiday weekend for a second opinion for my elderly mother-in-law who had been told the week before by another plumbing company that she needed to repipe her entire house. For a very reasonable fixed price, Ron came out on a Sunday and inspected her pipes and drains. There was no upsell or creative price adjusting as with the original plumber. Ron gave us a fair price estimate, conducted a thorough inspection and honored his quote.

Ron inspected all four of her bathrooms and found that there was NOT a major leak - just a leaky bathtub. His thorough testing and analysis showed that she did NOT need to repipe. Ron saved her THOUSANDS of dollars. This was a relief both financially and emotionally because we discovered later that the disreputable plumber who had previously inspected her pipes the week before and gave her a $9,000 quote to repipe had limited his inspection to only one bathroom.

More importantly, because my mother-in-law did have a water issue under her hardwood floors caused by faulty work done by the same plumber several months before, Ron connected her with a local restoration company that was experienced in working with her State Farm insurance adjuster. To our delight, this restoration company would take care of the clean up, restoration and move out -- with all services being potentially covered by her insurance.

So YES without a doubt, we whole heartedly recommend Ron and Sherlock Lead Detection.

I called him this morning and he told me that he hates to charge me for something that I maybe able to do. So I followed his instructions. And called him back and he said he will call me if he has time today.... We had a previous company that came over and marked the leak in the concrete under the vanity. The previous company suggested we demolition the vanity, which we did, only to find that they were completely off with diagnosis of the broken pipe!!!!

Excellent service, quick, efficient, and honest.  My tenant has been receiving extremely high DWP bills and I wanted to ensure there was no leak at the house. Never have I experienced such an unprofessional company in all my experience. These guys came out and were supposed to detect a water leak in our kitchen. They spent 30 min and charged 300 dollars to mark every pipe incorrectly. They marked the hot water line as a cold water line and where they said the leak was completely incorrect. After tearing up the floors and breaking the foundation the plumber found that the leak was in a different area that they didn't even mark as having a pipe in.  they had to tear up a different part of the floor and break more of the foundation to access the pipe. Not only did Sherlock leak detectors not detect the leak properly. When I called the owner to explain what happened and understandably get my money back since they failed completely. He was condescending and said that it's not their fault they couldn't find the pipe, that they were close enough in discovering it and didn't even care that his company messed up a job and cost us thousands extra because we had to re-dig. I will be bringing this company up with the better business bureaus day my attorney. I highly recommended everybody stay away from this company. It's sad to see that a company that supposedly has good reviews won't stand behind their job and correct their mistakes.

Update: After the owners response, allow me to clarify some things so that I am perfectly clear. We had to expand the hole which required removing more of the hardwood floors and removing more of the concrete slab. Of the area highlighted by the leak detector expert (which he claimed is within the margin of error.  I do not even have a picture of the first markings but I will add a picture of the original opening to represent it) the leak was still outside of the box. The leak detector did not even check that side of the island with his equipment to check if there was a pipe there or not. I have no issue with any company making a mistake as long as the own up to their mistake. To imply that I am racist is absolutely unacceptable you have no idea who I am and are assuming I'm racist based off of my name. It is clear how your company chooses to represent itself and i am glad everyone on yelp and everyone I tell and show this too will now how this company is operated.

I had a pesky hot water problem -- the shower suddenly was only spraying cold water. After figuring out it wasn't a hot water heater problem but a leak in my hot water line,  I called Sherlock Leak Detection.

Like everyone else, I've dealt with bad/shady plumbers.  I scoured the web for reviews -- the most visible leak specialist had mostly 1 stars.  Sherlock had nearly all 5 stars.  So -- I gave them a call and they came out in about 90 minutes.

They knew their stuff -- and it was refreshing that they didn't try to sell me anything or play games.  The technician had the right equipment, knew what he was doing, and was able to find the leak in my home's concrete slab in about 30 minutes.  He was also willing to explain to me his approach, process, and how he would find the leak.  And, he showed me all of the details as he progressed through the process.  He located the leak within about 6 inches -- truly amazing given the leak was 6 inches under my wood floor (subflooring, and concrete slab)    

They aren't plumbers, they don't fix the leaks; they only find the leak.
While this may seem weird,  the benefit is that they won't play games and attempt to upsell you on unnecessary services. I was also pleased that their price was a fixed price (no ridiculous hourly rate).  

My plumber came and repaired the leak the next day -- and actually asked if he could have Sherlock Leak's number.

Ron showed up the same day I contacted him, very professional and experienced, he has professional tools to find the copper pipes and listening device to pinpoint the leaks, he even showed me how to determine whether it is cold or hot water leaks, and methods to use water meter to make sure if I have multiple leaks or single leak, very cool.  The cost is very reasonable, I should of call him earlier instead of trying to find the leak myself.

The charge for the service was outrageous. $100 for telling me, that they couldn't check if there were leaks because the pipes are plastic and they couldn't check it. So they charge a 100 dollars to tell me they couldn't check anything. I called them because they supposedly had the technology to check any type of pipes. A rip-off.

We had a leak that damaged common areas across three levels of a condo building, but no damage was visible inside any of the units. One plumber said that I needed to cut out tiles to see IF the leak was coming from behind the bathtub, but there was no guarantee that it would be there. When Ron came out, he used acoustic and thermal imaging equipment to check different areas in multiple units. He found the leak and it actually originated from a different location. His quick work saved me time and money and minimized further damage to the condo. I highly recommend him.

I had a bit of a mystery situation with moisture on my slab foundation but no obvious cause. I needed to find out if it was leaking from the plumbing system. I received various opinions from plumbers but none of them were able to pin point a cause or completely rule out a leak. Since I was facing a potential situation where I would have to dig up my foundation to make a repair or an insurance claim, I needed real answers. I called Ron with Sherlock Leak and he was able to promptly schedule me for an inspection. He was thorough and explained all the steps he would perform. It was all very interesting. I'm so relieved to say he was able to confirm there was no leak in my plumbing system which was worth the cost of his service to have peace of mind and know I would not have to demolish anything. Most likely my problem was caused by an improperly installed laminate floor and liquid was able to leach under to the sub floor which made it seem like a leak but in fact was something that crept in from above. I was glad to find Ron and his service. I do have to replace my flooring, but it's much better than digging up the slab. Thanks, Ron.

Jeremy came to inspect the leak at our pool earlier today.
He was very knowledgeable and thorough with his work. He was able to determine that our plumbing is not the cause of our leak and he suspects that there is a leak at the plaster of our pool. He will be returning on Wednesday to dive in and locate our leak.

I knew I had a leak somewhere as my water bill was high, for several months, and after changing out a couple toilets and still having a high bill I started to have problems with a tankless water heater that would not come on.  When I checked it out I could hear water flowing through the hot water line even when everything was shut off.  I installed all the plumbing 20 years ago during a remodel so I knew the layout of the plulmbing and since I was seeing no signs of a leak or warm floor I was nervous and knew I needed someone to really confirm I had a leaky pipe under the slab.  I looked for leak detection specialists and was hesitant about many of the plumbers that advertise leak detection because I know most are not equipped or trained to do the level of leak detection I needed.  I called Ron at 6:30am on a Saturday and he called back within about an hour.  He was able to come out by 9:00am so this was fast.  Once there he set up his equipment (pretty sophisticated stuff that enables him to trace the line and then listen for the leak, even though it is 3' underground. )  Within 45 minutes he had identified the location of the leak and even let me listen on his equipment to confirm the leak.  Then he suggested a couple different options to repair the leak and ensure it did  not leak again  in the future.  This was great information that now enables me to find a plumbing contractor to come and quote a specific job and not fall victim to a plumber suggesting a very expensive and disruptive solution.

noticed a small leak (the DWP meter triangular trickle meter was turning slowly).  I just had a plumber out to fix a major leak, and thought this tiny leak might be related to the work done last week, but wanted an expert lead detection company to find it so I could discuss with plumbing company that did the work.  Sent email thru Yelp (one hour quote link) and sure enough I got a response from Ron.  When he called me later in the day and I discussed the situation above, he asked a few questions, and said he'd be happy to come out, but first, suggested I turn off all four of my toilet supply lines at the toilet tank value and re-check the trickle meter, as in his experience, this is a possible cause.  Told him I would and let him know.  Sure enough, he was right.  The trickle leak meter stopped rotating, and it was a simple fix for me to adjust the toilet tank supply level so water wasn't running down the tank drain.  Anyway Ron, thanks for your advice, and saving me the expense of a trip charge.  But because of your professionalism, you are absolutely the 'go-to' guy, the next time I need a professional leak detection service.

As a Realtor for over 36 years, it has always been my business practice to seek out the BEST and most responsible, professional service providers should I be called upon to make a referral to my clients.  Ron has just become one of my trusted referral professionals! This decision is the result of a mystery leak in my own home!  January, 2018 we received our DWP bill and were slammed by the amount of water usage and charges we were being billed for!  I quickly sought the advice of my home inspector and he said call leak detection.  I called the company I had used and referred in the past and set an appointment.  However, I had referred this company to my neighbor.  They called me so disappointed with the service provided by my referral I felt terrible!  I got on my computer and started to look for alternative leak detection companies. Never have I experienced such an unprofessional company in all my experience. These guys came out and were supposed to detect a water leak in our kitchen. They spent 30 min and charged 300 dollars to mark every pipe incorrectly. They marked the hot water line as a cold water line and where they said the leak was completely incorrect. After tearing up the floors and breaking the foundation the plumber found that the leak was in a different area that they didn't even mark as having a pipe in.  they had to tear up a different part of the floor and break more of the foundation to access the pipe. Not only did Sherlock leak detectors not detect the leak properly. When I called the owner to explain what happened and understandably get my money back since they failed completely. He was condescending and said that it's not their fault they couldn't find the pipe, that they were close enough in discovering it and didn't even care that his company messed up a job and cost us thousands extra because we had to re-dig. I would much rather hire a Master of ONE trade than a Jack of all trades (like a handyman) and let me tell you something, if you think, feel or suspect that you have a leak anywhere in your house or pool it is pointless to call anyone else except Ron the Sherlock Holmes of leak detection! He came out within 24 hours, found the leak in about 10 minutes underground with his Spidey Senses and saved me a world of hurt! I highly recommend Ron both for his Skills and his professionalism!

Was quoted a price range, came the very next day, found a leak. Later the leak was found just where he predicted. When company quote you are price range, many actually charge you the higher rate. Sherlock Leak Detection charged me the lowest, as my leak detection was easy. Still for Saturday, emergency service, he could of billed me more if he wanted to, but he didn't.  Great service, very knowledgeable guy, I would strongly recommend. Don't risk hoping your Plummer would find the underground leak to save some money.

After a plumber couldn't find the water leak in our property, i decided to call Ron.  He got back to me quickly and anytime I texted him a question, he responded in a timely manner.  I really appreciated that.  When he got to the house and started his inspection, I followed him all around and he was nice enough to explain to me what he was checking and giving me good tips on what to look out for, etc.  He was able to find the leak pretty quick; really impressed since the plumber and I spent a good amount of time looking for it ourselves.  Very knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with.  Thank you Ron.

Hire them.  Look no further.  Do not waste your time looking at all the others.  I had scheduled with a company that was recommended by a well-reviewed sprinkler guy.  They told me they would charge a fee for 90 minutes and then additional per extra time needed.  I wasn't too keen on that and now I'm SO glad I did a bit more digging to find this company and decided to cancel the other.  Amit showed up within the time frame and went to it in the very scorching sun.  It didn't take him long to pinpoint the problem spot -- in fact it was remarkably quick!  He explained everything so thoroughly, provided photos and even suggested I call him when I had my gardener do the extra digging to reach the leak.  When I did call, he was right there giving instructions over the phone.  My gardener dug where instructed and sure enough, there was the problem.  Now he is able to fix my sprinklers himself, which is saving me THOUSANDS of dollars!  I had had so many people out to look at my property after a giant tree fell and left the irrigation system leaking.  I am SO happy to have decided upon Sherlock Leak Detection.  Sherlock Holmes himself would be proud to lend his name to them :)!  THANK YOU!

100% hands down satisfied! Great company! Answered immediately when we called about an emergency water leak under our home. Came over within a few hours to assess and locate the leak. Put tape on the floor, marked where it was coming from and found it so fast. Also, has companies he works with to fix such a bad problems . Really respectful, when Ron the owner arrived. I had a slab leak in a wall with new custom cabinets on both sides!  We were expecting the worst (having cabinets disassembled)! Let me just tell you, in a time when customer service has almost disappeared, this company is a breath of fresh air.  I spoke to Ron over the phone and he was probably one of the most helpful people ever.  He explained everything over the phone extremely well and even helped me try to trouble shoot my possible leak right over the phone.  It was so nice to experience someone who actually cares about there job and the people they service. I was referred to Ron and Sherlock from another plumber on yelp. I called Ron and he responded immediately, which was marvelous as we had no time to waste. We had a leak at at one of the houses I manage and the City of Beverly Hills was sending me what seemed like weekly notices and how much water we were wasting and that the bill was going to be insanely high.
Sherlock and Amit to the rescue! Within less than an hour Amit discovered where the leak was and that it was really bad. He was extremely thoroughly in looking all over the property and was kind enough to educate me in the process. Together we FaceTimes my boss to explain the situation and Amit was very professional and walked us both through what had most likely happened and how we needed to fix it.
It was a stressful problem, but these guys really eliminated the hassle of it all and set us about getting it all handled. I hope I never have to call on them again but in case I do, I will 100% be using them again and would encourage anyone to do the same.

I was able to set up an appointment on the day of my call. It took about 45 minutes to find the problem (a slab leak). The location found was absolutely accurate for a plumber's work.

Wow! This company is the best! They don't overcharge you and they find the issues so quickly! They came out the same day that I cand found the issue within 15 minutes! I am re-writing my review from previous as the owner, Ron, did spend the time to reach out to me to discuss my experience. There was a bit of miscommunication from the Tech that he wanted to explain. He was very professional and truly apologetic for any misunderstanding. When I first called he explained what would be done to look for the leak and as they had to come back a 2nd time (due to some plumbing work I was having done)  only charged me part of the fee the first time and the remainder the 2nd time. Ron is truly a proud business owner and wants his customers to be satisfied.

I have nothing but great things to say about Sherlock Leak Detectives.

Recently I heard water rushing inside one of our walls.  I called Hotline Plumbing (see separate review) and they called Sherlock to come out and find the problem.  Even though this was late afternoon/early evening on a Sunday, Sherlock Leak Detectives came out quickly and found the burst pipe right away.

I hope you never have to face a burst pipe, but if you do, I highly recommend Sherlock Leak Detectives!

Ron came out in a timely manner and spent 90 minutes attempting to diagnose a very tricky leak problem. As said before he was very transparent about what was possible and what was not but gave it everything he had to diagnose and with a tentative diagnosis in place, a possible plan on how to proceed. Never want to have to call upon him in the future but should I spring a future unidentifiable leak in the house, he'll be the first person I call.

I had a slab leak in a wall with new custom cabinets on both sides!  We were expecting the worst (having cabinets disassembled)! Met Ron after my work when he already found the leakage that was right outside the house.  Very nice guy and did a good job.  He came at 3:30 and he found the leakage even before 4 o clock.  He also asked for an email so he could send th3 receipt so we would get an adjustment later for DWP.

Definitely recommend for anyone with leakage problem and don't want to waste time and money waiting while there's a leak.

We had a leak back in June that went from our kitchen and into the dining room. I shut off the water and called Sherlock Leak Detection early the next morning. Ron, who is very friendly, came out within a reasonably short time and went right to work seeking out the source of the leak after turning my water back on and listening for it. He is well equipped with the necessary detection devices to get the job done; like in less then 10 minutes. Our dishwasher was the culprit. I'd call Sherlock Leak Detection again without hesitation should a similar situation ever arise.

We had a slab leak in a pipe under the kitchen floor. The first plumber that came tried to find the leak and opened the floor in two different places, but could not find it. Then we had to call a second plumber who recommended we contact Sherlock to accurately locate the leak. I didn't even know there is such a specialty called leak detection. The second plumber explained to me that they use special equipment that usually plumbers do not have because it requires special training and experience.

Sherlock located a tiny pinhole leak in the pipe and it was fixed in no time. Raanan the owner explained to me that the leak made such a loud noise because the hole in the pipe was very small and the water pressure in the house was and, that is why the leak was so hard to locate, it was noisy all over the house.

Anyway I was very happy with the service and impressed with their expertise.

Another one for Sherlock leak Detection.

Realized we had noise in the back of our property but no standing water and no signs of any leaking.
Doing the normal tests confirmed there was water running somewhere.
Ra'anan was called upon in the morning and by noon he had a tech on site searching for the leak.
His tech marked the area. Around the Clock Plumbing came in and saved the day for us.
Jacked the concrete, excavated the dirt, located and repaired the leak, back filled and finished off the day in one quick swoop (from detecting to repairing).

I was shocked when I got my water bill, it was the size of a mortgage payment. I knew I used, a large amount of water due to work we had done on our pool. However when I called the DWP they were able to deduce that it wasn't all from refilling the pool. I had a leak and it had been running for months. So when the DWP finally came out to read the meter, the bill was a whopper. The weird thing about this leak was it was occult, no obvious wet spots.We called Sherlock leak and slowly, carefully Ron methodically tracked down the leak after 2 1/2 hours. It wasn't easy and variety of high tech equipment was needed, but Ron found it under cement. Now on to the repair.

I had a bit of a mystery situation with moisture on my slab foundation but no obvious cause. I needed to find out if it was leaking from the plumbing system. I received various opinions from plumbers but none of them were able to pin point a cause or completely rule out a leak. Since I was facing a potential situation where I would have to dig up my foundation to make a repair or an insurance claim, I needed real answers. I called Ron with Sherlock Leak and he was able to promptly schedule me for an inspection. He was thorough and explained all the steps he would perform. It was all very interesting. I'm so relieved to say he was able to confirm there was no leak in my plumbing system which was worth the cost of his service to have peace of mind and know I would not have to demolish anything. Most likely my problem was caused by an improperly installed laminate floor and liquid was able to leach under to the sub floor which made it seem like a leak but in fact was something that crept in from above. I was glad to find Ron and his service. I do have to replace my flooring, but it's much better than digging up the slab. Thanks, Ron.

Ron returned my call promptly. He sent out Josh for leak detection.  We already knew the leak is somewhere between the city main shut off and the house's main shutoff. The problem is the leak is somewhere underneath very thick concrete or the shrubs.  
Josh came and used his leak detection equipment trying to locate the leak. After about 45 minutes he was pretty certain where the leak was deep under the concrete. So I have to contact my handyman to come next day to expose the concrete to confirm the leak. Sure enough after digging deep into the ground my handyman found the leak.
Josh even offer to come the following day to talk to my handyman before he started digging. Very professional level of service.

The city notified me that my water meter was continuously running.  Did all the leak tests per city recommendation but couldn't find where it was.  I randomly contacted Ron based on the outstanding YELP reviews I've read.  It was easy to set up a schedule with him.  In fact, he was able to come the same day I called him.  He was very thorough in his assessment and used his instruments/gadgets to find the problem spot.  It didn't take him long to find out the leaking pipe under the concrete slab behind my garage.  It was amazing he quickly determined the problem. Great service.  If you know you have a slab leak, these guys charge a flat fee for whatever they might encounter with your pipes. Whether they Break the concrete or reroute the leaking pipe. Other guys charge $300 just to come out and detect the leak. It could cost $1000 or more to fix.

I had a leak in my landscaping pipes and most leak detection companies I called told me that it would be very difficult to find leaks in PVC and had extremely high quotes. I called Sherlock Leak Detection, and Ron was very optimistic that he can locate the leak quickly and quoted me a price that was less than half of the lowest I had from several other companies I had called.  Needless to say, I was very skeptical. Ron showed up and found the leak in almost an acre of landscaping in less than an hour.  What a pleasant surprise! One of the best leak detector around!! We had water issue near our Air conditioner condenser and thought we have problem with A/C, so called A/C people they came out and they had absolutely no idea where the leak was coming from!! Don't go to anybody else. You are wasting your time and money. He is the ultimate expert - but most importantly - he doesn't give up. He thinks. He looks. He tests everything and everywhere. Leaks are sneaky. The obvious is seldom the cause. That's why you need Sherlock Leak Detection. We tried another well known service who made a big song and dance with lots of fancy equipment and triumphantly identified the spot under the floor. Our plumbers dug furiously, jackhammers going like crazy. And? We found an electric pipe. Not a water pipe in sight. But they took our $300 anyway. Then came Sherlock! He came, he saw, he conquered. The leak was in the exact spot he identified. We dig up the floor and there it was. Trust me ladies and gents. Sherlock is the man for the job.

Ron is awesome! I worried about a slab leak and called him at 6 am on a Saturday. He returned the call shortly and was at my house by 8:30 am. He had sophisticated equipment and knew exactly what he was doing. We had a pipe that had started to make a constant hum.  My water bill was still reasonable but the meter was spinning slowly. I called Sherlock and to my surprise Amit was going to come on the holiday.  

I dont think I had the best attitude due to the stresses of having a leaky pipe but Amit was kind and patient with me.  Answered all my questions and concerns that I had brought up. Amit brought out several devices, and was able to tape off an area to start digging.

I had another company out first (Pinpoint), a young man who spent an hour finding the supply lines then mapped out where he thought the leak was which oddly was feet away from a supply line. I had a feeling I should get a second opinion before my plumber dug up the wrong area in my kitchen and I'm sure glad I did. Ron the owner of Sherlock came out and within 30 minutes nailed it. Like many other reviewers have commented, this service was exceptional. I left a voice message late Wednesday. Ron called me back within an hour. Amit came at the promised time on Friday. Stuck it out crawling under the house until he found that the pool fill line didn't shut off properly and was the source of our mystery water use. Amit charged only what Ron had quoted me. Today, my plumber replaced the pool fill valve. The meter out front no longer registers mystery water use!!!

If I've been premature in my praise, I will post again. If the problem has been solved, I couldn't be more effusive and appreciative.

As difficult as it is to have to call for leak detection, Ron makes the process much less frustrating and painful. He is extremely professional and efficient. For the second time this year, we had a leak in our house we've only lived in for a year. The first was a slab leak in the entry. Ron came the same day, found the leak in minutes, and gave me a great referral for a restoration company. This time there was water in our garage. I knew who to call and Ron was again available the same day. He came out, quickly found the leak and I'm now waiting for the plumber to come and fix the problem. I can't say enough great things about Ron and his company Sherlock Leak. Don't go anywhere else. If you have a leak and aren't sure where it is, Ron will find it, no questions asked.

So I happened to check our DWP bill online (I don't usually see it because it's set on paperless auto pay) expecting it to be lower than what it was during the summer since I had turned down all the irrigation to ¼ back in September. So I was surprised to see the water usage had practically doubled up. We had just fully renovated this circa 1926 house in 2017 so I knew all the pipes in the house we're good, and having a background myself in construction, I kinda know what to look for. There were no visual leaks, no leaking toilets or faucets, and no mud spots that I could see around the property. Time to call a specialized expert. I found Sherlock on Yelp and called them because of their reviews and after Amit and Keeva came out last Thursday, I must say the reviews are on point. They came on time and with a great attitude. Within 15 minutes on property, they had narrowed the problem down to some sprinkler control valves. After more troubleshooting, they pinpointed it to the valves' supply line. I dug the area out  yesterday and there it was, a coupling had come apart a foot and half underground. I would have never have found it and it had been leaking for almost 6 months according to our water usage history.  Amit and Keeva knew their stuff and we had great conversation during the process. Ron came out to assess a leak I had going on in my backyard. I called just about noon, and he was able to come out around an hour after I called.  
He checked the back yard water lines, then also showed me that the water meter was slowly moving, indicating an active leak going on.  He checked my sprinkler valves outside and found that one of those was making noise even when it was completely off.  
Professional, informative, got a quick response, and he's got a good sense of humor. I would definitely use, and recommend, their services in the future.

Beyond helpful! Called them after getting a notice about a possible leak from the water dept. Not only was Ron helpful over the phone but he was able to have Amit at my house within 2 hours. Amit was able to isolate the leak pretty quickly and tell us what he thought the problem was. He gave us a referral for a great plumber and before I could even call the plumber, he called me having received a call and pictures from Amit. Called them early in the morning and was able to get the inspection a few hours later for an outside line leak. My whole patio is tiled so it was important for me to pinpoint the leak. Ron used his gadgets and marked two tiles where the leak was detected. He also pointed which tile to remove first. Next day the plumber removed the tile and sure enough, there was the leak on two different spots on a plastic pipe. Being accurate minimized the repair work and repair costs. This guy is good and fast

Let me just tell you, in a time when customer service has almost disappeared, this company is a breath of fresh air.  I spoke to Ron over the phone and he was probably one of the most helpful people ever.  He explained everything over the phone extremely well and even helped me try to trouble shoot my possible leak right over the phone.  It was so nice to experience someone who actually cares about there job and the people they service. As of know I do not need there services, but let me tell you if I do there will be only one company I call and that this one.    Highly recommend!

I was able to set up an appointment on the day of my call. It took about 45 minutes to find the problem (a slab leak). The location found was absolutely accurate for a plumber's work.
Overall, this is a service I hope I won't be needing again for a while, but if I do, I will call Ron and team Sherlock again for sure.

I found Sherlock Leak Detectives/Ron through Yelp.  After reading the positive reviews, I called Ron right away.  He answered the phone (it didn't goto some answering service or voicemail!).  He was very professional, polite, and nice over the phone.  I knew right away that I called the right person.  I made an appointment and he was punctual.  He even confirmed the afternoon before which I liked.  Once he came to the house, he found the exact point of leak within 20 minutes!  Yes, the big water pipe leak was under the concrete.  He is amazing!  He made few suggestions on what I should do.  He is so knowledgeable.  I welcomed his suggestions since I was a bit shocked at how big the leak was.  What I also liked is that he works with the City and knew the right person to call to have the water shut off.  He charged me for what he quoted over the phone.  No extra fees.  I found Ron to be very professional, take pride in his work, and want to help customers like me who was facing a big repair. Our water bill quadrupled, DWP said we may have a leak and recommend getting a specialist and not a regular plumber. I checked yelp and read the reviews here. I called and left a message Raanan called me back right away and came out to the house within a few hours. He was fantastic! I'm pretty handy but not in this area. He has the tools and expertise. He checked all around the property and he found the pipe that had a leak underground! I highly recommend him and his company, I hope u don't need this service but if u do call these guys! I called him this morning and he told me that he hates to charge me for something that I maybe able to do. So I followed his instructions. I had another company out first (Pinpoint), a young man who spent an hour finding the supply lines then mapped out where he thought the leak was which oddly was feet away from a supply line. I had a feeling I should get a second opinion before my plumber dug up the wrong area in my kitchen and I'm sure glad I did. Ron the owner of Sherlock came out and within 30 minutes nailed it. We noticed that some spots in the laundry room and the in the adjacent guest bath felt slightly warm when we walked over them wearing socks or with bare feet.  Over several weeks the heat was definitely more noticeable.  We did a google search of the symptoms and to our dismay it described the possibility of a hot water line leak under the slab foundation.  We called Ron at Sherlock Leak Detectives and he was very professional and helpful over the phone.  We made an appointment for the same day and he arrived as promised.

Ron is very thorough and he explains every step of the process.  He uses high tech equipment and is very tenacious in trying to locate the leak.  You can tell that he is not just going through the motions, but instead really cares about trying to isolate the leak.  He uses high tech infrared detection, sound isolation with high tech microphones, and put pressurized air into your pipes to further confirm the sounds of leakage under the slab foundation.  Ron even came back two days later after I called him and expressed lingering concerns that there may be more than one leak location.  Ron showed up and very thoroughly went through the entire process again and confirmed that there was only one leak site.  I asked him what the charge was for his second visit and he refused to charge me saying that it was part of his job to make sure the I was satisfied.

The next day my plumber came out and found the leak under the slab exactly where Ron had isolated the sound.  They repaired the leak by re-sectioning the portion of the copper pipe.  It was a relatively major plumbing problem, but disaster averted due to early detection.  Thanks Ron!!

I noticed that my carpet at the bottom of my stairs was damp about 3 weeks ago. Turns out there was a pipe leak behind the wall, coming from the second floor.

Hire them.  Look no further.  Do not waste your time looking at all the others.  I had scheduled with a company that was recommended by a well-reviewed sprinkler guy.  They told me they would charge a fee for 90 minutes and then additional per extra time needed.  I wasn't too keen on that and now I'm SO glad I did a bit more digging to find this company and decided to cancel the other.  Amit showed up within the time frame and went to it in the very scorching sun.  It didn't take him long to pinpoint the problem spot -- in fact it was remarkably quick!  He explained everything so thoroughly, provided photos and even suggested I call him when I had my gardener do the extra digging to reach the leak.  When I did call, he was right there giving instructions over the phone.  My gardener dug where instructed and sure enough, there was the problem.  Now he is able to fix my sprinklers himself, which is saving me THOUSANDS of dollars!  I had had so many people out to look at my property after a giant tree fell and left the irrigation system leaking.  I am SO happy to have decided upon Sherlock Leak Detection.  Sherlock Holmes himself would be proud to lend his name to them :)!  THANK YOU!

On the phone said they don't work with infinity pools. Tech showed up and said our non-infinity pool was too much for them to deal with. Ask for photos or ask questions before making an appointment if there are certain types of pools OTHER than infinity pools that you don't work with. To be clear: despite this, we were not charged a service fee, but I lost money because I had to cancel a client to wait for them. Still a waste of our time for not asking very simple questions. Ron was the second person I called to come out for a leak in my yard. The first company came out twice before calling it a day becuz he couldn't find it. So I researched again and found Ron. This time I was specific in my questions on how and what equipment he had to find my leak (listening/sound equipment is important). The leak was under either grass, asphalt or cement and my house is on about 1/3 of an acre, and it's a challenge for anyone. It prob took Ron longer than he thought, maybe a little over an hour, but he FOUND it! He heard noise under the cement in my backyard, and then asked if he can drill a small hole in the seam to stick a long rod in. When the rod came out, it was wet. I had plumbers come out and an old capped off galvanized pipe was worn and leaking! Look no further, call Ron if you need to find any kind of leak!

I found a small warm spot in my room and little water in my walk-in closet. I was unsure if its a slab leak since i checked water bill and water meter but everything was normal. But its always a good thing to make sure from an experienced professional than to doubt yourself. I asked a quote from Ron and he came out the next morning. He was really thorough and detailed and explained everything to me if there are signs that a slab leak could give. He gave me the assurance that the water didnt come from the ground. We had a pipe that had started to make a constant hum.  My water bill was still reasonable but the meter was spinning slowly. I called Sherlock and to my surprise Amit was going to come on the holiday.  

I dont think I had the best attitude due to the stresses of having a leaky pipe but Amit was kind and patient with me.  Answered all my questions and concerns that I had brought up. Amit brought out several devices, and was able to tape off an area to start digging.

We had a leak that damaged common areas across three levels of a condo building, but no damage was visible inside any of the units. One plumber said that I needed to cut out tiles to see IF the leak was coming from behind the bathtub, but there was no guarantee that it would be there. When Ron came out, he used acoustic and thermal imaging equipment to check different areas in multiple units. He found the leak and it actually originated from a different location. I would much rather hire a Master of ONE trade than a Jack of all trades (like a handyman) and let me tell you something, if you think, feel or suspect that you have a leak anywhere in your house or pool it is pointless to call anyone else except Ron the Sherlock Holmes of leak detection! The Sherlock guys arrived at the house right on time and listened what I had to say.  They went right to work and did their due diligence of the house since I had no plumbing plans of the original buildout.  They started to field survey and was able to narrow down where the leak was within 30 minutes.  I highly recommend this group for any residential leak detection that you may need.

So he came out when he said he would and like a ghostbuster had all his equipment. That said he destroyed my sprinklers, used all of his equipment including the precious hydrogen but never found the leak. He ended up charging me half price. All would have been fine had he not destroyed my sprinklers in an attempt the find the leak.

In late June, just before the 4th of July weekend, we had a slab leak in our entry/kitchen area, with significant flooding during the night, before the we discovered the leak. I was referred to Ron and Sherlock from another plumber on yelp. I called Ron and he responded immediately, which was marvelous as we had no time to waste. We had a leak at at one of the houses I manage and the City of Beverly Hills was sending me what seemed like weekly notices and how much water we were wasting and that the bill was going to be insanely high.
Sherlock and Amit to the rescue! Within less than an hour Amit discovered where the leak was and that it was really bad. He was extremely thoroughly in looking all over the property and was kind enough to educate me in the process. Together we FaceTimes my boss to explain the situation and Amit was very professional and walked us both through what had most likely happened and how we needed to fix it.
It was a stressful problem, but these guys really eliminated the hassle of it all and set us about getting it all handled. I hope I never have to call on them again but in case I do, I will 100% be using them again and would encourage anyone to do the same.

Excellent service, quick, efficient, and honest.  My tenant has been receiving extremely high DWP bills and I wanted to ensure there was no leak at the house. Raanan was polite and clear as to his services and charges. He was able to come out the following day. He contacted me promptly upon completion and notified me that there was no leak. I recently used Sherlock Leak Detection to find out if I had a foundation leak. Amit was the technician that came out to my home. He arrived on time and was very professional. Amit's also super nice and he explained the whole process to me and answered all my questions. He was able to determine that there was not a foundation leak. We had a leak back in June that went from our kitchen and into the dining room. I shut off the water and called Sherlock Leak Detection early the next morning. Ron, who is very friendly, came out within a reasonably short time and went right to work seeking out the source of the leak after turning my water back on and listening for it. He is well equipped with the necessary detection devices to get the job done; like in less then 10 minutes. Our dishwasher was the culprit. I'd call Sherlock Leak Detection again without hesitation should a similar situation ever arise.

We had called a bunch of leak detection companies last minute yesterday for a house we are in escrow for. All the companies we spoke to didn't offer what we needed or couldn't make it out to us for a few hours.

I found Sherlock Leak Detection on yelp and called them! Ron answered my call and he offered what we needed and was at our house in 30 minutes!

He really knew what he was talking about and was very thorough in his report. We highly recommend him to everyone. My boyfriend even had him stop by his dads house when he was done with our house we are getting.

Unfortunately, I needed a leak detection company to help me find a landscape leak. I looked on line and left a request for service from another big company and never heard back. Then I came across Sherlock Leak Detection and was impressed with their reviews. I ended up leaving a message for Ron, who called me back the same day. He made an appointment for a couple days later. Both Ron and Amit showed up on time and spent several hours trying to find the leak. Because the leak is outside and might be under concrete, it was a very difficult situation. They suggested I have a sub-meter installed so that they could pressurize the line. After I did that, Ron and Amit returned to try again. This time they were able to determine the most likely cause of the leak and what direction I should go to resolve it. Bottom line with these guys: They were very professional, courteous, and reliable, not to mention very reasonable in their price. I would use them again and not hesitate to refer others to them. Seriously, Ron and Amit are the best. Look no further.

On sunday morning we noticed water on our tile floor. Our plumber said it was a slab leak and advised we contact a leak detection to mark the location so he can repair the pipe. I found Sherlock on Yelp and they answered my call on a Sunday and were able to schedule shortly after. The technician mark where the pipe is in the slab and listened with special microphones to mark the location of the leak. The best part is that he talked to my plumber and figured a way to re-pipe the line through the wall and avoid damaging the flooring and actually saved us a lot of money and minimize damages. I'm ery satisfied with the care and attention.

I was shocked when I got my water bill, it was the size of a mortgage payment. I knew I used, a large amount of water due to work we had done on our pool. However when I called the DWP they were able to deduce that it wasn't all from refilling the pool. I had a leak and it had been running for months. So when the DWP finally came out to read the meter, the bill was a whopper. The weird thing about this leak was it was occult, no obvious wet spots.We called Sherlock leak and slowly, carefully Ron methodically tracked down the leak after 2 1/2 hours. It wasn't easy and variety of high tech equipment was needed, but Ron found it under cement. Now on to the repair.

Just wonderful. Came early, detected the leak within less than 1 hour, offered a solution, capped the leaking pipe and charged me 25% LESS than agreed, because it was an easier job than he expected. I never asked for a discount.

I want to give a fair and honest review here. They were very responsive and efficient - I reached out at 7pm and they had someone on site at 9am the next day. Unfortunately the spot they marked was about 5 feet away from the leak and caused me to tear up a portion of my concrete that didn't need to be torn up, which then added to my repair costs afterward. My plumber dug 3 feet down from the spot and there were not even pipes under the marked location, then ended up finding the leak in a different location essentially right where the pipes left my house and went underground. The technician came back out to look at it and told me he just overthought it. The business owner was responsive and immediately refunded the cost of the inspection, which was appreciated. I found them to be honest and professional, and they did the right thing by refunding me. But I wouldn't feel comfortable hiring them again if I had another leak based on my first experience.

Ron came out within the hour on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend with a minimal emergency surcharge that was well worth the extra cost.  He was knowledgeable all-around, thorough, reassuring and didn't tack on any unnecessary services.  I was following up from a slab leak that had occurred five months earlier and appreciated the quick peace of mind Ron gave me that the problem had not returned.  Knowing now the difference between Ron's customer service and the first company I used back in March -- I will make Sherlock Leak Detection my one and only call in the future if I should ever need their services again.

One of the best leak detector around!! We had water issue near our Air conditioner condenser and thought we have problem with A/C, so called A/C people they came out and they had absolutely no idea where the leak was coming from!! Called Sherlock and Raanan came out on that day and found exactly where it was coming from and even found how it effected/ damaged the areas near the water leak! We are now underway with repairing. After getting a $2000 water bill, it was obvious there was a leak, but nothing was visible.  Ron came out right away.  We have a massive backyard, and he spent a couple of hours to find the source of the problem.  He drew a big circle with paint in said, dig here.  Sure enough, four feet down, invisible from the surface, there were two ruptured pipes in the EXACT area where Ron said it would be.  Thanks so much!

Don't go to anybody else. You are wasting your time and money. He is the ultimate expert - but most importantly - he doesn't give up. He thinks. He looks. He tests everything and everywhere. Leaks are sneaky. The obvious is seldom the cause. That's why you need Sherlock Leak Detection. We tried another well known service who made a big song and dance with lots of fancy equipment and triumphantly identified the spot under the floor. Our plumbers dug furiously, jackhammers going like crazy. And? We found an electric pipe. Not a water pipe in sight. But they took our $300 anyway. Then came Sherlock! He came, he saw, he conquered. The leak was in the exact spot he identified. We dig up the floor and there it was. Trust me ladies and gents. Sherlock is the man for the job.

Highly recommended. Ron is great, super helpful and very upfront about what they can and can't do. We had a copper pipe leak in the concrete slab under our dining room and he was able to identify a 24 span of 1 pipe that had a tiny but destructive pinhole. As well he was able to trace a recirculation line for us so we could reroute the slab portion of our hot water system. I would definitely use him again.

Our water bill quadrupled, DWP said we may have a leak and recommend getting a specialist and not a regular plumber. I checked yelp and read the reviews here. I called and left a message Raanan called me back right away and came out to the house within a few hours. He was fantastic! I'm pretty handy but not in this area. He has the tools and expertise. He checked all around the property and he found the pipe that had a leak underground! I highly recommend him and his company, I hope u don't need this service but if u do call these guys! I found this company based on the Yelp reviews.  

However, their huge error (causing my plumbers repair bill to double) and Sherlock refusing to respond immediately to correct the error made me rate them this low.

I suspected a slab leak and hired Sherlock to locate it.  They responded, and I was told by them that I had a cold water slab leak in hallway of my entrance. (This is marked by an X in the house hallway picture.)

When the plumber responded and broke open the slab, the leak was no where to be found.  

I immediately called Sherlock and asked them to re respond and locate the leak which they mis diagnosed.  This was at noon on a  Monday.  I was then told that they were booked for the day and could not respond till 24 hours later.

I informed them that I had paid for their services a few days before, they badly misdiagnosed it and I requested they cancel a new job in order to take care of a job they previously failed at (mine.)  I was then told they had no one available.

I then called American Leak Detection in Ventura.  American Leak Detection's owner responded 45 minutes later and located the leak approximately 5 feet away from where Sherlock said it was.  This is marked by the lines at the foot of the step picture.  (As you can see by the pics, its way off.)

Now more demolition is needed, causing undue stress to my family.  This has significantly increased (doubled the cost)  of my slab leak repair, since the distance is so far off, the plumber is charging  me for a whole new slab demo,  repair and rough concrete.  

I emailed the Sherlock  asking for a refund, and still no response.

To Ron the Owner, please contact me and explain why a new customer is more of a priority than a customer that already paid for your services and you misdiagnosed, and how you will remedy the situation you have caused me.

Clearly for Sherlock, doing as many $300 leak detection jobs a day as possible is more of  priority than responding back to a customer that already paid you and correcting a huge error made by your technician.

Ron from Sherlock Leak Detectives came to our residence on Sunday March 2nd, 2014. He was very professional, informative helpful over the phone when I called to arrange him to look at our water leak problem. He came in and he was as pleasant and easy to talk to as he was on the phone. He has done and exceptional job to find the leak at ones under the sink cabinet. I was so relieved that we did not had to cut the wood flooring and the concrete in the middle of the kitchen, when  originally we thought to do so. He pin pointed the leak under the cabinet and our repair man cut the bottom of the cabinet, the concrete below that and repaired it quickly. I would recommend his services to anyone who needs leak detection. He is a fine gentlemen and a professional utmost. Thanks a lot Ron.

I called Ron as I found him on google for leak detection and he was local and I prefer to do business locally.  I actually cancelled my appointment as I know my leak is in the slab and repairing it is going to cost half as much as repiping the whole house.  (Once galvanized goes it continues to go)   Ron lives in the area and still stopped by my house on his way home and used the infrared camera to look for water and detect the leak at no charge since he was driving past anyway.   He was so nice and professional and he agreed with me that repiping is the best bet.  I have a friend who is plumber that I am going to be using and let Ron know this but he still made it a point to stop by and check the leak to make sure I was not in any serious trouble or need a water damage person to come.  I cannot thank him enough!   (Ron  THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN!)   I am so impressed that Ron still stopped by even know I was not paying him to make sure I was ok.

noticed a small leak (the DWP meter triangular trickle meter was turning slowly).  I just had a plumber out to fix a major leak, and thought this tiny leak might be related to the work done last week, but wanted an expert lead detection company to find it so I could discuss with plumbing company that did the work.  Sent email thru Yelp (one hour quote link) and sure enough I got a response from Ron.  When he called me later in the day and I discussed the situation above, he asked a few questions, and said he'd be happy to come out, but first, suggested I turn off all four of my toilet supply lines at the toilet tank value and re-check the trickle meter, as in his experience, this is a possible cause.  Told him I would and let him know.  Sure enough, he was right.  The trickle leak meter stopped rotating, and it was a simple fix for me to adjust the toilet tank supply level so water wasn't running down the tank drain.  Anyway Ron, thanks for your advice, and saving me the expense of a trip charge.  But because of your professionalism, you are absolutely the 'go-to' guy, the next time I need a professional leak detection service.
