The worst of the worst. Scott English Plumbing is believed to have sent an unlicensed plumber to my home. We called to have a plumbing issue fixed. When it was not done correctly, we attempted multiple calls only to be re-routed to a call center with representatives that were incompetent. When I called a NEW plumbing company, they came and assessed the mess left by Scott English plumbing. Not only was the Scott English job done incorrectly, the new plumber found that Scott English plumbing left a gas leak in our home for several days. This could have led to serious consequences. Trust me when I say, steer clear from this company. Incompetent, and dangerous through and through.

Beware of these schiesters.  Needed a new value on the shower while hubby was away because it was stuck. Said they'd have to cut away the tile in the shower to get at the pipes to know for sure.  I didn't want to go there...Nate replaced the valve but before he put it in I observed him sanding the outside of it, clearly so it would grab and not move the lever for the water temp (same issue as I had before they came out). My bill came to $300 for nothing.  I continually called the shop to request a credit to my card because hubby was able to fix it when he go back in town just by cleaning out the main line that comes into the value.  I never received a call back. I quite trying after about 5 times and called my credit card company to dispute.  Unfortunately they said Id have to pay for another plumber to give a second opinion on their shoddy work.  I told them my husband fixed it and they still would not credit the account.

Nate and his apprentice were at my home for 3 hours which should have been 1 hour, one of them wreaked of cigarettes. Prior to them leaving he gave me a bid for an $1800 water heater in which he stated was old. LOL works fine to me....  Seemed to me just preying on a female homeowner..... So sad as I have a personal acquaintance whom works there that I personally spoke to.  He couldn't get anything done either!

Surprised they are still in business - bet they won't be for long!  Good riddance suckers!

I kept having a leaking kitchen sink and a troublesome Garbage Disposal. Scott English installed the garbage disposal and there was multiple problems. I appreciate that they did the right thing and came out multiple times to fix the issue at no additional charge.  A year later I had another issue which led us to today. Scott English responded same day and came out and tried to fix the problem again with no charge. I instead had them install a complete new Disposal and they had it right there on the truck. Ulises was our technician today and I appreciate that he spent extra time trouble shooting and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. It is nice to get quality service in a time when it is really hard to find. Thank you.

Very unorganized, poor communication, give an estimate of $270 for a very small Job , i accepted, waited 5 weeks for the job to be done , then said we ordered the wrong part , will come back , sent someone with different estimate , Scott refused to answer my call because it is 5:30 pm and he is off ,  next day never called back , until now the Job never been done.
Will never trust him or use him again.

My 40g water heater was leaking, call them to come out to take a look on a weekend. They told me it wasn't repairable and needs to be replaced. Being a weekend and last minute needs, I expected to cost a little more, but be wary of their pricing. $1700 for a water heater replacement is ridiculous for a 4 hour job, but we had no choice since everyone I'd called wasn't able to come out. They even quoted me $2400+ at first because it was a weekend.

Installation was good, job well done, at a high price. They can gouge people all they want, but they'll keep losing customers with this day and age of Yelp, Google Reviews, etc, etc.

Our HOA used them for an emergency in our condo unit in the evening; the plumber they sent got the water that was flooding our kitchen to stop so we were happy with that.  The problem was in the follow up visits - several of which were needed to fix the problem once and for all.  Multiple times they would schedule us for a 4 hour time frame and then AFTER the time frame had ended call or text us with  sorry we couldn't come; when can you reschedule?  It was maddening and very unprofessional.

I called Scott English Plumbing this morning and Nicholas David from their company came out in the afternoon to fix a leak under the bathroom sink and water coming out of the shower handle when the shower was turned on.   He explained everything in detail of what was causing the problems and what he was doing to fix it.   He replaced the pop up assembly in the bathroom sink.  Nicholas installed a new cartridge and my 3 piece set (shower head, handle, and tub spout) which I had purchased at Home Depot.  He went out of his way to get the correct parts out of his truck so that the shower handle would fit.  He was very polite and nice.  The finished job was great, bathroom cleaned up, prices were fair, and everyone is happy!

Called and the plumber arrived SAME DAY! Our plumber was Ulisies C. and he replaced out garbage disposal fairly quickly. He also taught us that when you run the dishwasher, water isn't supposed to come out through the little thingy on top of the sink.

I definitely recommend Scott English Plumbing ! Brett was our service man and I couldn't be happier . He arrived when he said he would , diagnosed the problem, showed me what was wrong and what needed to be done and then returned early the next day to complete the repair (additional parts were required ) . My deposit was only $ 130.00 and deducted from the total bill (which was under what  my expectation) . By the way, I had to step out and left him alone . While I was out he finished in a timely manner leaving the place clean  when he left !  Here's my breakdown of the service I received  from Brett:

I called Scott English Plumbing on Monday and I had a plumber at my house by 10:00 am the next morning. We needed a new shower trim kit installed and drain assembly. We were under the impression we needed to have the valve changed out, to accommodate our new kit. Fortunately, Shane was able to use the existing valve, which saved us about $700. He also fixed a leak in our toilet while he was here. He was incredibly knowledgeable, detailed and friendly. I would definitely recommend Scott English Plumbing.

I live at Corte Melina and my neighbor had stated there was a water stain on his garage ceiling which is located below my kitchen. Brandon came out, cut through the ceiling, and told me there were two pinhole leaks, and that I would be financially responsible for the repair. $3400. Thankfully, I called a friend of mine who is familiar with this plumbing company, and she told me to get a second opinion. I ended up calling Partners Plumbing and they sent out Jimi who was fabulous! He told me there was no leak and nothing needed to be repaired. Scott English Plumbing are crooks. Beware!

We used there services a few months ago. I will say they were very upfront on the pricing and the services. After they completed the job I question them about how long it took the Manager Ed was very concerned so he sent a senior plumber out to inspect the services and found there was a few things that were not done correctly reported back to the manager which scheduled out another plumber to complete the job. And then today we had them back out due to a secondary leak Nate was very polite very professional and within two hours had the job complete gave me very upfront  pricing And made sure everything was all nice and clean when he was done again thank you Scott English Plumming for a great service

I called this company to have the water shut off in my building in Long Beach.  The technician shut it off, but complained that he hated coming to our building.  When Mickey came back later that evening he did not turn the water on correctly and another company had to be called to make the repair.  I called the owner to discuss this matter, who was rude to me, and told him that his technician did not want to be at our building.  I did not receive an apology from the owner or the technician regarding his poor attitude and skills. In addition, I was charged $245 for incomplete work and an additional  $460 for the second company to come out and make an emergency repair. I would never use this company again and have suggested to our board members that we never use this company at our complex either.

Currently my condo complex is without water due to a water main brake. I understand that things happen and they take time to fix but Scott English posted the attached photo around the complex stating the water will be off from 10:30am to indefinitely. When I called to ask for an ETA the operator, Mimi told me hopefully it would be working some time later tonight. She said the plumber was on sight and has been all day. I told her I haven't seen him and she told me it's a big complex. I live right next to the water main brake (I know because it flooded two days before). I understand things happen and I'm thankful they're here to fix it but posting signs like this and being rude on the phone are not necessary - I have no water in my home and don't think asking for an ETA of when it will be fixed is asking to much.

Olivia the supervisor of the call center they use is also rude and not helpful. I asked for an estimate of when are water will be back on (it's been 14 hours for over 400 people) and she said she can't tell me because has isn't the plumber and when she asked the plumber they didn't know. They are plumbers and it is their responsibility to have some understanding of the scope of a project. They should be able to give an estimate of how long it will take to fix an issue. They unprofessional and do not provide quality service for large scale projects. Clearly dealing with large issues (such as condo complex issues) is outside of their abilities and scope.

Have used them for many repairs, always good guys that show up. However they  always have to make two trips out, they never have parts (but the biggest Mercedes trucks you have ever seen) so, before you think that's not so bad let me say that I told them what was needed (third time same repair) and they told me they were in a hurry to get here and didn't stop to get the part.  The company is not well run for the consumer. It is managed by setting appointments and repeat visits to complete the job. I have never had a job completed in one trip without me managing the job with several calls to confirm what I am getting. They do not keep records of their jobs so they can refer to them for what they installed previously which shows me that repeat customers are not a priority for them. They also make the customer deal with the parts supplier for a replacement of a failed part under warranty, then they charge a labor fee for a call back to use the part. So, question their warranty policy. They are not licensed plumbers, ask them. They will tell you they are working under Scott English's license. On one occasion I called for a new recirculation pump and they came, looked, left to get one, came back, installed it, then asked if I wanted the timer option. I had done research and they had quoted me with the timer but then tried to upsell me for another $150. I don't like this type of social display of displeasure but just need to make sure you know to do your homework or you will be fleeced either by your time or your money. IMO

Quick follow up to my Yelp review from yesterday: Problem returned, but so did Nick--along with Rob and Francisco--and they took care of things the very next morning. All at no additional charge from original bill. Big shout out to Rob, who was especially knowledgeable and very helpful.

Charging a 2 hour minimum for a 1 hour job is NOT a benefit to the customer by not charging an hourly rate.  Your tactics are STILL deceptive an a RIP-OFF!!!
You need to tell the customer up-front that you have a 2 hour minimum charge--even for the smallest of jobs.  CUSTOMER BEWARE

I had roots growing into my sewer line and Scott's English managed to get my HOA to cover the cost of repair (since it was the HOA's tree). This saved me nearly $800. They managed to get the HOA to agree to this on a Saturday night when the HOA offices were closed, which I was very impressed by. Scott's English has been working in Irvine for years and they know many of the HOA's by this point.

They even waived the fee for the first visit.

Excellent service. I would recommend to anyone for any plumbing related issues, especially if you live in an association.

OK, here I go again! Late night plumbing problem where the shower hot water would not turn off and the bathroom was turning into a steam room. This time it was Steven R. to the rescue. He came out within 45 minutes and managed to cap It off for the night but returned bright and early the next morning as promised with the new cartridge and presto!   Not only was he courteous, professional, and expedient, but my dog who loves to bark at strangers really liked him upon first meeting and remembered him upon his return.  Now that says even more about the person!   Thank you Steven and thank you Scot English Plumbing!

This to is not in regard to their service but their terrible drivers. It is hazardous to drive way below the speed limit and then self appoint yourself as the lane commander. I get it if you're hourly and want to milk the time card. But others are not so get out of the way because driving that slow is just not safe.

The best! Professional, courteous, honest and on time. We had a scam artist plumber out the day before who said we had roots in our pipes and he could fix the problem for $10,400! We were referred to Scott English Plumbing. They came and scoped the pipes and saw not one root! They unplugged our clogs for $299. This is the company to call for your plumbing issues.

We are extremely detailed and picky people. We love pristine and quality work and will not hire any company that cant offer that. To say you'll receive this at Scotts Plumbing is an understatement. If you end up hiring them to do your plumbing work, I highly recommend you ask for Arthur.

After receiving amazing service by the scheduling company, Arthur arrived to our home and we were absolutely set on going tankless for our water heater. After a very informative presentation by Arthur, he gave us our options on tankless or tank water heaters based on our search criteria.  

To share his points:

Pros of Tankless
-More Space
-Longer Lifespan

Cons of Tankless
-When power goes out, so does your tankless
-Higher Costs
-Difficult to troubleshoot error codes
-Inconsistent water temperature

Weighing our options, we decided to go with a tank. We also needed a Washer and Dryer set up.

Arthur answered all our questions and after spending almost hours with us looking around the home to see where would be the best location for set up, he sent an ITEMIZED quote within 5 minutes of leaving our home.

Once we were set on the pricing, he immediately got to work the next day and finished the full project by 4/8.

Arthur left no mess in our home, cleaned up after himself and showed us his finished product. He walked us through his work and let us know about the labor warranty that Scotts plumbing offers, he also let us know of the tank warranty and the care of the product.

Working in 100 degree weather is not easy! Arthur was an absolute champion! We are incredibly grateful to have met and worked with Arthur. He did wonders in our 1920's built home. It's so nice to see a company hire a man who is so proactive, caring and passionate on the work he does.

Hope he gets a juicy raise with this review because he deserves it. Truly.

We have had Scott English come out for several different plumbing issues and they are very professional and get the job done. Set a window of time that they confirm and let you know are on their way.  Our last issue was handled by Ulises Cardenas with their company for a clogged drain line and he was really great. He gave us expert advise.  Would highly recommend this company.

Pros- honesty, great service, and great plumbers. Today Chris T was awesome, friendly, and wasn't upset at all that he had to come out for something that was an easy fix!

We've had to use Scott English plumbing a few times because our condo complex is old. They're always on time, friendly, and most importantly HONEST. Our plumber today was Chris T and he was amazing. We had been told by Best Buy that out washer and dryer couldn't be replaced because our valves needed to be replaced. Chris took a look and got them turning. They didn't even charge us either!! Such great service and an honesty- I'll always use Scott English.

Arthur Rambo of Scott Plumbing did a great job in quickly diagnosing and fixing a leaky toilet tank.  He was clean, courteous and efficient.  At our request, he wore a mask while working, and offered to cover his shoes as well (which wasn't necessary).  He also gave us good advice on another plumbing issue, which did not need attention at this time.

The absolute WORST customer service I've ever received. My HOA sent out this company, so if you have a choice.. steer clear. Being an individual that works in the construction/customer service industry I am appalled with the negligence that my matter has received. Diego their technician came out, (who was great) and told me there was in fact moisture in my roof and showed me the percentage on the device he used..Kevin Miller decides to write an email to my HOA stating that their was no moisture detected...hmm... Diego the technician sent me a photo of the damage and also let me know via text that the report was in fact wrong and there was a miscommunication between his findings and Kevin's email to my HOA. When calling Scott English plumbing the first time, I spoke with Kelly, Kelly then informed me that she would get my report amended and call me back. THIS WAS ON MAY 7TH. I then called 2 days ago and spoke with another woman (I forgot her name, she sounded older) she then told me she would get this issue resolved and call me back (she never did) please tell me why this couldn't be resolved the first time? Im super pleased that these calls are recorded for quality assurance, hopefully this can show the president how his company is being run when he's not around. In conclusion; if you ever need something done efficiently and correctly, don't use this company.

These guys are great. They came out today to fix a lead that another plumbing company left. Matt diagnosed the issue, called our landlord, explained the issue and even got her to sign off on the repairs right on the spot (not always an easy feat with our landlord). I greatly appreciated their friendly demeanor and outlook. Matt and his intern/apprentice Ashe were outstanding. They could even make appropriate small talk when appropriate (which is better than standing awkwardly waiting for things to happen). Their rates seem reasonable from what I know of plumbing - I would definitely recommend them! Beyond that, their POS system/tablet that they can use to take pictures, send invoices and more is a plus in and of itself. I could see the invoice, pictures and all in an email that was sent to the landlord. Thanks Team!

Horrible experience!  The only thing good about it was when it was over.  Travis the technician seemed like he was hung over.  He mentioned that he had been out the night before so he might have been... That should have been my first red flag.  He came out to my house to do a diagnostic on a water heater.  This process should have taken less than an hour...but almost 3 hours later he wrote up a quote for $4,250, including things that didn't even need to be done.  He must have sensed my urgency in having the unit replaced since I was getting ready to move.  What a joke!  He didn't even seem to know what he was looking at.  Maybe my water heater was something he wasn't familiar with but to be a certified technician you would think he would know what he was doing.  I gave him the MANUAL to my water heater and basically I had to tell him how to make it work...
Long story short, I got 2 other quotes for the exact same product and service for over $1,200 LESS!  It pays to shop around.
Needless to say, I agree with all of these other 1 star reviews on here.

Woke up on a Sunday to a water leak downstairs.  Saw these guys in our housing area before so gave them a call.  Came out within an hour or so, on a Sunday.  Capped the leaking pipe, put in a claim to our HOA, came back out to do the re-route of pipe and had it all fixed in like 2 total days.  Steve was an excellent technician and very knowledgeable/informative about the pipes, water quality and process.  Would call them back in a minute if needed.  

* One note, they are sticker ninjas though.  Turned my back for like 5 minutes and had their Scott English stickers on my garbage disposal and water heater and they didn't do work in either of those areas.  Well played.

Two other HVAC companies came to my house, one said the heater blowing cold air was my HOA's problem, the other said I needed to replace a zone valve and he would only charge me $900. Both were sent by my home warranty company who of course doesn't cover zone valves. Anyway I ran into Chris with SEP in my community parking lot, he gave me a soft quote of what a zone valve replacement would cost and I made an appointment. Well he came today, flipped some other valve from an off to on position and now I have hot air again. SIMPLE FIX!  I am so PO'd it took three guys to figure this out but so grateful that Chris was able to, these guys really know what they are doing!

Today, Kevin and Daniel from Scott English plumbing came out to install a part on the water heater in my son's condo.  They were both very professional and worked very diligently in a very small, cramped area to replace the thermo coupler on the water heater.  I would certainly recommend them.  They were scheduled to be there at 10:30 AM, and because I was driving in from San Diego (to help my son out) I was to call them when I got near the condo.  They were there waiting when I arrived at 10:20 AM.  I would certain recommend them to anyone in need a reliable, professional plumber.

Friday night my kitchen sink backed up. I tried a plunger, didn't work. I called Scott English and got the answering service. She said she'd get ahold of someone and they'd call me. Sure enough Eric (I believe that was his name) took down my info. He had to check the schedule and call back. He did and they fit me in for today, Saturday. Elliott Borboa came to my rescue. Very polite and friendly guy. He snaked sink and got it working. This is my 3rd experience with Scott English Plumbing and I highly recommend them!

Scott English Plumbing sent Jeff A. for a persistent faucet leak in the tub. Jeff was very courteous (popped on shoe covers on his own accord!), friendly, thoughtful in diagnosing the problem and worked hard until it was fixed.

The office staff was friendly and helpful when scheduling the appointment, and keeping me posted on Jeff's ETA. Overall a great experience!  Thank you!

I contacted Scott English Plumbing after seeing their truck outside my house to see if they could offer me an estimate on installing a new kitchen faucet. They were very friendly and offered to send someone out same day to provide a free estimate and told me that they could even do same day work if needed! I told them I saw their truck outside my house and they sent Brett F over after completing his other job nearby. Within an hour Brett gave me my estimate and installed my brand new faucet leaving zero mess and even offering some pointers along the way. He was incredibly friendly and trusting and I would definitely recommend this company to friends and family.

They make an appointment with you to do a job, then cancel it, while you are waiting for them to show up. This happened to me twice with this company. Then they tell me they can come back in a month. Terrible

We were in a bind the night before Thanksgiving with a clogged kitchen sink. Chris P. showed up within a couple of hours to save the day. He was very helpful, had a positive attitude, clean and thorough with his work. He explained everything and gave advice on how to prevent it next time. A+ customer service!

Brandon and Fransisco are my plumbing hero's!  We originally called in a service through our home warranty company who sent out a plumber that worked on our clogged kitchen sink for about 20 minutes, said he couldn't do anything and walked out the door.  Just left!  As I was driving later that day, I saw a beautiful Scott English Plumbing truck on the road and knew that's who I would reach out to next.  From the moment I called, the customer service was fantastic. They sent Brandon and Fransisco out the very next day.  As soon as they arrived, they went to work!  They kept me updated as they worked.  They worked so hard to get that terrible grease stoppage out of the pipes.  They were so excited to show me the video of how bad the grease build up was.  They were so kind, helpful and very professional.  They offered me a few options for later service, but they stuck to their original price quote for the Drain Special and didn't waver.   I highly recommend that you start with Scott English Plumbing first! They will get the job done from the beginning!

I've never written a review before, but this company is so UNETHICAL and charges such EXCESSIVE fees that I want to warn others.  It was a Saturday and my regular plumber was out of town.  Water was coming up from the floor.  Scott English agreed to come out on a Saturday and check out the problem.  They cleared out a mainline obstruction and found a lot of root intrusion. They made 3 videos to show the problem and were there for 2 hours.  For running a snake and using a camera, I was charged $450.  But it gets better.

The plumber said this was only a temporary fix and I would need to spend an additional $850 to hydro-jet the area!  He said this would be a permanent solution.  I said that I wanted my regular plumber to handle it and that he should mark the location of the problem.  In fact, my plumber talked on the phone to Paul and told him to identify the location.  HE REFUSED!  I guess that's no surprise because Paul wanted the additional $850.  

When my own plumber came, it turns out that spending $850 was not a permanent solution at all, but just another temporary remedy until the roots grew again!!  I don't appreciate being lied to.  Further, I had to spend another $200 to locate the root infusion because Scott English failed to mark the location.

This was a horrible experience all around.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.  THEY ARE BAD NEWS......

The copper pipe in the attic leaked and I need  it urgently taken care of. My condominium association contacted Scott's English Plumbing. Shane showed up after 10:30 pm to clamp the leaking pipe.  Later on they came back in the morning to replace the  corroded coper pipe.  Shane was the same technician who came the first time and the second time to finish off the job.  Coreen showed up the second round to assist Shane. They both did a great job and are very professional about it. Both are pleasant and friendly and very informative when I asked them questions related to the issues at hands.  They finished the job quickly and smoothly. You are in good hands if Shane and Coreen happens to be your repair men for the day.

Scott English Plumbing has done great work for me. Everyone who I have delt with at this company has been professional and dependable. I have a hydronic heating system that is not very common. It has been hard in the past to find someone who understands the system and how to repair it. SEP sent William out to take a look at my system and he was very familiar with it. He did a great job repairing the system and took time to explain how it actually worked and what needed to be fixed. I really appreciated that. A couple months after the repairs were done I was concerned about another issue with the system. I requested William specifically because he was so knowledgeable about the unit and he did a great job before. Even though he was very busy on a large assignment he made the time to stop by that very same day to address my concerns. SEP has been great and William did a wonderful job.

We have been dealing with a nasty kitchen sink clog for the past week and are so happy that we called Scott English Plumbing. We made a call in the morning and the scheduling team was very nice and polite even gave us options and time slots available for same say service. We scheduled for 4PM-6PM and got a call at 3:30 saying the plumber would be at the house at 4:15.
To my surprise he was a little bit early!

Upon meeting Francisco he was very clean cut and extremely polite. He assessed the situation and didn't delay on getting right to work. He started at the cleanout on the side of the house as to not dirty the kitchen area with tools and equipment.

Unfortunately, he was not able to reach the clog from outside so he did have to come into the kitchen. This was not a problem as he explained everything step by step and then went out to his truck to grab a large matt to keep the kitchen floor clean. He even had a small wet vac handy in case he need to vacuum up any water under the sink or on the floor. I was very impressed with his attention to cleanliness. Francisco worked quietly until he was successful at resolving the issue. He tested the line several times to ensure he had gotten to the root of the problem.  

He laughed at a few of my plumber jokes! (I'm a plumbers daughter)  and proceeded to tidy up the work space and even cleaned out the sink before leaving.  I knew this was a basic sink clog but I was expecting to have to hear some upsell spiel and was so pleasantly surprised that after a long day I did not have to deal with that.  The price quoted on the phone was exactly what I signed for in the invoice.  I will definitely be calling Scott English plumbing again if I ever have any plumbing issues and would highly recommend this company to my friends and others in need.

Hello Yelpers! We are so happy we went with Scott English Plumbing . We worked primarily with Arthur, Nick & Evan who were outstanding from our very 1st visit to the completion of the project.

We've had several home projects over the years & I always get a minimum of 4 estimates so I can compare, contrast & educate myself regarding the various projects. With that being said, I can save you all a lot of time & whole heartedly recommend Scott English for your plumbing needs. Don't walk, run to these guys!

Laura in Customer Service is awesom. Last but not least, Keenan came by at the end to remove all the utility markings on the sidewalk. I didn't hire Scott English my hoa did to repair a main line water valve. The tech Diego is really  good guy and very helpful. However this company didn't have diego prepared to do the job. He did not have the proper tool to turn off the water at the street. They had to call the city to shut off the water. To Scott English please make sure your vans are completely outfitted with all the tools needed to do the job including shutting water service off at the street.

This company is a rip off.  I only ask to repair 2 faucets and the angle stop and you know how much they charge?  They charge me for $300 just to replace a freaking faucet.  Home Depot charge me for $260 and your telling me they are more expensive the Home Depot.   I did not let them fix my faucets.  instead they charge for $30 inspection fee.   Never call this plumbing company.   SOOOO EXPENSIVE.   JUST A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY !!!!

Contacted the company and requested service on a broken drain pipe in my backyard. Person answering the phone informed me that someone would call me back to schedule. Later that night I received a call from someone that seemed to be the plumber and he informed me they would be at my house the next day between 11am - 3pm. Nobody showed, but I did get a call at 3:40pm (after the service window) stating they could arrive 2 days later between 10am-2pm. I request next day service since I was already being pushed and the gentleman informed me he was too busy. I accepted the 10am-2pm window two days prior and as you could guess, they never showed up. They called me roughly 40 minutes after my window ended and asked if they could reschedule and I declined and informed them I would be going with a different plumber. Unfortunate part about this whole mishap was it rained again, the night of what was supposed to be the second visit and due to the broken pipe, my backyard flooded causing damage...

Long overdue compliments for Scott English Plumbing and technician Michael W.

In 12/2018 our water heater was operating unreliably. We couldn't figure out why the water wasn't staying warm or the pilot light wasn't staying lit.  

We phoned Scott English Plumbing because it's NOT under contract with our HOA. The dispatcher professionally noted my contact information & concern. Michael W. arrived at the estimated appointment time and showed professional credentials. During his assessment of the legacy tank and the plumbing around it, he took some time to educate me on good & bad indicators as a new homeowner.

He clearly explained my options, the pricing, and time he anticipated to resolve our concerns. After he confirm our choice of action, he drained the tank and departed for the storehouse for the replacement tank and associated parts. After a few hours, during which I could continue to telecommute, Michael tested everything.

Then he showed me the settings on the new water heater, as well as the gas shutoff in case of emergencies. It's the little professional tips of going above & beyond!

It was year-end and we hadn't planned a major household expense, but we are thankful for this good investment. The old tank was about 20 years old and rarely do water heaters live so long!!!

I needed my water heater flushed and also finally decided to fix my main water valve in garage.  It had been broken since I moved in many years ago.  Evan did such a great job! Even though it was a tough job he remained so upbeat and friendly.  He was very professional and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond between his willingness to do whatever it took to get the job done and his happy, positive attitude. We had a slab leak in our home, after getting a few estimates the obvious choice was Scott English. CJ and Arthur came out to the house and tested the pressure, confirming the slab leak. We went with the APEX piping and it's been wonderful. My elderly mother resides in the home and they assured me that the plumbing would be finished, with the new APEX piping the next day by 5pm in a four bedroom home with exterior spigots, as well, by 5pm. They came the next day to repair the walls and were done by noon. So professional and respectful of our property. Every Scott English employee was polite and professional. CJ and Arthur kept in contact with us, explaining the work to be done and the result expected. They were able to offer me a discount and the total price was lower than other offers to do the plumbing that did not include the wall repairs. If you hear or see that slab leak, these are the people that you want to walk you through the process. Thanks Again and God Bless.

Mike did a great job of snaking my sewer line that goes under my garage. Although he showed up 45 minutes late, he had the job done in 1 hour. Don't know what he charged, because it was billed to the HOA.

Then I asked him to give me a quote to hook up a washer & dryer in the unit. This is something that would take all of 30 minutes to do. He quoted me OVER $500! I laughed and responded that I would do this myself. He responded I'd like to see you try. Probably would have given them 5-stars had it not been for that condescending attitude and ridiculous price.

Okay, hopefully this would help others to not make my mistakes. My water heater pilot wouldn't start and i decided to call a plumber. The lady operator says on the phone that an estimate is free and that i would not need to agree on the pricing. Sounds pretty good, doesn't it? The technician comes, presses the pilot button and the water heater just starts working. I am not exaggerating. They charge me $165 for this operation! The technician later lowered it to $124. The lady operator says on the phone that the technician provided work, so they have to charge. No estimate, because nothing is broken. She says since the technician touched the heater that is considered to be work. It only would've been free if it was an eye inspection. How do they find out if anything is broken without touching it? Anyways, hopefully this ridiculous experience helps someone to make the right choices. When i told the operator that i wasn't too happy with that she told me that i would get a call from the owner. Two days later no call.

But my HOA called Scott English Plumbing to detect where the source of moisture was coming from. Brian was extremely thorough and professional. Called them to get an estimate on a leaking pipe connected to my heating system. He came out and looked at it, told me he would come back at 1pm to fix it. He came back at 12:30 and said he wasn't feeling well and wanted to reschedule (uh okay). He quoted me $750. Spoke with two people with plumbing experience and they told me it shouldn't be more than $300. I call another company, they come out and look at it and quote me $225. RIDICULOUS. They are commission based and jack up the prices! Only reason why I'm giving 2 stars is because the woman that answers the phone in their office was very nice and helpful.

We were introduced to Scott English Plumbing via our insurance company due to water leaks (yes leaks plural -ugh!). We were so impressed with the quick response and professionalism shown by each employee entering our home, we now make them our go to plumbing company for all plumbing needs in our home.  In addition to fixing 3 water leaks, we've used them to unplug a kitchen sink; install a bathtub; replaced all bathroom fixtures; set 2 toilets. As much as we like them, we hope not to see them anytime soon :-)

I called about two issues,  a stopped up sink and a leaking  dishwasher.
When I spoke with Laura, she asked me what was wrong and I  told her and asked if she could address both problems at the same time. She said yes and gave a date and a time frame. When I  choose the time she couldn't do that and I choose the next  available time.  I asked how long it would take because I  had to get to work. She said the it would take an hour  no more.
never asked me if I  was the owner or renter, just my address and name.
Then the plumber showed up in that time frame but he showed up at the very end of that frame, now he has 30 minutes  to do the job before I  had to get to work. The plumber , Tyler looked at the problem, (sink) only and quoted me 300.00, I  asked does that include the dishwasher  leak.  He took care of the sink and I  asked, did you look at the sink, he said,,oh no. Was cleaning up and then ran the dishwasher on a quick load run, and it didn't  leak,  he said  good. Thought thst was it but when he left I ran the washer on a full load and it leaked. Call the office back up and told them that I  need them back out for one of the same problem, 1. They never told me there would be a charge 2. Tyler just removed the front on the dishwasher and told me the problem and told me it would be 1400.00 to replace the dishwasher.  When I  said no, and asked how much for this
visit and he told me that it would be 223.00. I told him I  was unhappy about the charge because  he showed up at the very end of his window on the first call and he made me late for work and my landlord wouldn't  pay for work that wasn't done.  He got made left and would need to talk to his manager.  That is when it got VERY BAD. His manager accused me of saying that I  was the owned, he won't  listen and told me my landlord had to pay me back and that is the law. Even if I  was the owner,  I wouldn't  pay for work not done.  All he did on the second call is remove the front if the dishwasher and run a load and tell me that it would be 223.00 for  NO WORK!!!! So this IS VERY BAD BUSINESS
And good luck if you use these people because they will  steal your money!!!

So... After my contractor and another drain company both attempted to clear my drain pipes, I was ready for quotes on installing drain pipes. Scott English came out the day I called. Nate and Steve, the technicians that came, saidlet's give the snake one last try. They were efficient, a great team, and ready for work, and I should also mention, they were polite and their explanations were clear and concise. Within a half hour my drain pipes were clear. They hit a tough spot but persevered and we have flowing drains! Hats off to these guys and Scott English plumbing. And their price was half of what their competitor charged for no result! I'm a happy customer!

So unhappy with this company.. I wish I had read the reviews before calling them. We had minor leak in our copper pipes. When they came out, the gave an estimate of around $1000!! I was appalled at how high they were quoting. So we told them we would find another company for our plumbing needs. They still charged us $175 for just coming to our house and not even doing anything. The plumber said he wouldn't leave until we paid the $175. We called another company, first option plumbing (whom I highly recommend) and they gave us a total quote of $250. I can't believe Scott English plumbing tried to rip me off so badly. If I had the time and patience I would put a stop payment to the check and dispute in court. Please find a more trustable and more professional company for your plumbing needs.

Like the other reviewer mentioned, avoid this place at all cost. Shady sales technique and business practices. Our toilets (two) were slow drained so we called this place and was told the technician will swing by for a free estimate. Technician showed up and ask me to sign the $150 for estimate plus repair for the slow drain. He used the half length snake cable on both toilets and determined that the drain is good and the issues were the toilets. The whole process took less than 15 minutes. After the technician left, one of our kid took a dump and sure enough, the slow drain was still there. I was so mad that I decided to YouTube on how to remove and replace toilet and proceed to do it myself. Upon removal of the toilet, found out that the slow drain was due to calcium deposit like built up that happened over time. Once I clean all of those stuff out, everything works like a charm again.
P.S. The technician also quote me for $240 for installation of the toilet itself. Note, this quote is for installation only. We have to supply all of the materials.

Late Friday afternoon our garage began flooding -- placing our file cabinets, suitcases, and the like in jeopardy. At first my husband and I thought our roof was leaking from recent rainstorms ... but then we observed a narrow stream of water rising up onto the ceiling emerging from our hot water heater. Afterwards that evening, my husband phoned Scott English Plumbing and soon reached Special Dispatcher Stephanie. She immediately arranged an after hours appointment for Saturday morning ... and then Scott English Plumbing Technician Michael W. arrived at the exact scheduled time.
Michael W. promptly began a highly-professional examination taking photographs of all the piping around our hot water heater. He quickly discovered a pinhole leak in the outgoing copper supply line. Then he promptly shut our water off, drained our system, and installed two new braided supply lines. Finally, he tested everything and now -- just hours later -- our garage floor has dried out and our hot water supply throughout our house is actually hot when we desire it.

Major Saturday morning shower valve leak dripping into the downstairs bath ceiling/floor.  8AM, called 3 plumbers.  Not available.....Except one. Scott English dispatcher said a tech would contact me during the late afternoon, best they could do.  Get a call 30 min later like 10:30, tech available, will be there soon.  10:45, Jimi shows up, sees the problem, asks me if I want to pull the tile away or him but $$$ would add up. I volunteered and he said call me back and I'll return.  I was done in 10 min, called Jimi, he returned as promised in 20 min. Fixed my bad copper sweat problem like a true pro.  Excellent customer service , especial on a Sat AM.  Great, professional plumber with a fantastic attitude....Will call Jimi and Scott English plumbing in a flash if needed...Many thanks Jimi

I am a Realtor, and we had an issue with a home that was closing TODAY!  Scott English Plumbing was able to get a team out the same day (in 2 hours!!) - at no extra charge to take care of a problem.  It was a good size job (roots growing into outdoor pipes blocking drainage), and they were able to arrange not only the jetter machine that was needed, but also with a separate company, a pump machine that was also needed.  They completed the job in about 5 hours.  Hats off to Mike Whelan, who was extremely professional, kept us posted along the way, and did a very thorough job. He even emailed me before and after pictures today after work hours! I didn't catch the other technicians name, but he was great as well.  From the origional gal who answered the phone, to the last gal I spoke to and everyone in between -  I'd give Scott English Plumbing 10 stars if I could.  Great job, thank you to all!  Life savers!  THANKS MIKE! Technichian Rey Torres came to my residence after hours to clean the mainline.  Unfortunately this is a problem I have had before so I have had experience with different plumbers and companies.  Rey was extremely helpful and professional.  He cleaned the root problem out quickly and got us back to normal within hours of the the onset of the problem.  For a busy family of six this keeps the showers, dishwasher and washing machine going which is vital.  Thanks Rey and Scott English Plumbing for your competent and professional service!

Can't seem to get an appointment straight.

Called and they said they'll get someone over within one hour. An hour and a half later, I called the checked. And the office said they will check on the serviceman and call right back. A half hour later I called to tell them don't send anybody over as I am leaving. Half hour later I get a call from an unknown number and leaves no message. Another half hour layer that same unknown number calls and leaves a message saying they can get someone over in 20 min. I called back that number and left a message telling them I already left a message about cancelling the appt. I again am getting ANOTHER caller who doesn't leave a message.

Didn't know it can be so complicated.

We had a water emergency and DARREL came to the rescue. Not only that, but he was running later than expected because of a different  job he was on and as soon as he arrived he greeted us with a smile then apologized. We had already gone without water for 2.5 days, being turned down by a different plumber because the job was too complicated, and by this point had very little patience.

Although we waited for a while, which is totally understandable, just want to say thanks to DARREL for providing such friendly, fast, and helpful service. It was already getting late (8:00pm) and was probably his last job of the day and he treated us like we were his first. I feel that's it so rare to have excellent service like this nowadays so just wanted to show appreciation for his hard work. Thanks again! Highly recommend this company.

RIP OFF COMPANY!!!  Just got quoted $750 for a cracked ABS pipe that I'm now having repaired for $250.  Told the plumber I was in commercial real estate development and offered him the opportunity to provide a real quote then stated they'd be charging a $150 service call... nothing I'll consider paying considering it was never previously mentioned.  Also learned later they're a commission based pricing model so incentivized to gouge you.

We had a water leak some where in our house and notified our condo association. They sent Scott English Plumbing out to check it out.Two guys name Jimmy came right over, ran some tests and confirmed that we had a slab leak. The cost would be $5000. They submitted the work to our association and got the ok to fix it at no charge to us!! They rerouted our water line. The guys were very professional and efficient. I cannot say enough good things about Scott English Plumbing and they will always be our go to for any plumbing issues we have in the future. Thank you Scott English Plumbing

If I could write a minus 1 review, I would. Our plumbing issue begins on March 26, 2018 with a leak under our dishwasher in our condo. Scott English plumbing came in and repaired the leak and then proceeded to reroute the water lines. For that reroute process, the plumber cut a large hole in the shear panel (plaster) wall near the hot water tank leading into the kitchen from the garage. When the city of Aliso Viejo came to sign off its approval on the plumbing repair issue, the condo failed because the hole was too large and needed to be repaired. We were issued a Correction Notice by the city on May 2. We have placed 9 calls (5/2,16,18,21,24, and 6/11,14,18,20 and spoken to 5 different front office girls: Sonia, Marisa, Rae, Samantha, and Judith) at Scott English Plumbing to fix the gaping 12 hole after he files an architectural drawing of the repair to the city of Aliso Viejo. If this repair isn't made soon, we, the owners of the property, will be fined. If you as a consumer think this lack-of-follow through  and poor business practice are incredible, then don't hire Scott English as your plumber.  As of this date, no Scott English  representative has called to address this issue.  Consumer, be VERY aware.

The plumbers are nice, but the office staff is incredibly rude. When trying to discuss an issue with my bill, the guy responsible for billing just didn't want to discuss it because he was busy and really didn't have the time to deal with it. Really? When your supervisor says he is waiving charges, yet you send me a bill for them anyway, you best find the time to deal with it. Unprofessional in my opinion, and I should have gone with PPS Plumbing.

They are the best.  They replaced all my gas lines in the house and pool.  Expensive job but Chris and Ben were  terrific.  They took care to do everything right. Tub drain was backed up because apparently we have a shared drain in the complex. Paul came and put on shoe covers and went right to assessing the situation. Even though the tub was no longer backed up when he arrived, the residents in the floors above me may have been running the water and the tub started to backfill again. Paul was able to snake the line and clear it pretty quickly. Kudos to Paul for his professionalism, diligence and expertise!  Scott English Plumbing is lucky to have Paul on their team!  Awesome job!

So not pleased with this company... In the late night hours it's like a racket...

I don't like leaving bad reviews because, as a nonprofit fundraiser, I work with local businesses all the time and I like to see businesses succeed... but here is my story...

My pool fill valve broke and I (unfortunately) did not find this out until midnight... I called Scott English and had to call back 3 times to find out why I had not heard anything (time I could have spent calling ANOTHER plumber). It was not until about 2:30am that the plumber showed up, meanwhile, my entire block was being flooded from my pool...

The plumber looked at the problem quoted me over $500 to CAP the valve, NOT FIX... and when I said that was too expensive, I ended up being charged $206 for him to just shut off my water....

I woke just a few hours later because I have to figure out how to get water turned back on for my family and saw I had an email quote for about $600 for them to return and fix the valve problem.

I cannot believe these prices and neither can the other plumber I spoke to this morning who is doing the job for $225... I can't believe I waited HOURS for response and paid over $200 to get water turned off...

We had a leak late on a Friday night and when we called, they scheduled someone out immediately. For whatever reason, after the repair was done, my son noticed that the knob to pull up to turn on the shower was loose and a shower was unable to be taken. I called Kevin and he sent Jimi and another Jimmy out to repair it and they were in and out in a matter of minutes. They were polite, clean and nice to speak to. I appreciate the professional service and highly recommend them for your plumbing needs.

I had to have my hot water tank replaced in October 2022. I had Uileses come out and he did a great job in explaining everything and he installed the water heater. On Thursday of this week, July 13, 2023 I had no hot water. I called and talked to Jessica and set an appointment for today, Friday, July 14, 2023 that worked for my timeline. I got a call a bit before the time I was given that the tech was on the way. Today I had Joe come out and in a short time I had hot water again. He waited for a bit to make sure the water tank stayed lit and the water was heating up. He was very professional and explained everything so I could understand it. I had another issue and he inspected the problem and is going to send me an estimate on what it would cost to fix it. We had a leak coming up through our living room carpet and had to call Scott English Plumbing after 5pm. Brian Zimmerman arrived within an hour and checked for a slab leak, which was negative. Brian put in a lot of work and found evidence of the leak under our kitchen cabinetry, on an outside wall, and found the source was an upstairs bathroom sink. He was proffessional to deal with and was upfront with pricing before doing work. Overall Brian helped make a very stressfull situation easier to deal with at a fair price.

On 1 Jan,  I was notified that my bathroom was leaking into my neighbor downstairs. I was given the number of Scott English Plumbing by an HOA board member and neighbor. The Company contacted me right away and told me a time frame to when the technician Jaime would arrive.
He was on time, polite, professional and friendly. He took the time to explain what the problem was, how he would fix it and informed my 2 neighbors on 2nd and  1st floor below me about turning off water and what was happening.

Jaime actually found a broke drain inside my wall and wrote a report and provided it to my management company.
Due to some limitations with my management company Scott English Representative Damien kept me abreast with the delay (not their fault I may add) and was extremely kind and helpful in coordinating & rectifying the Plumbing situation in my condo.

I am EXTREMELY pleased and grateful to the personal level of services I received.
They were also very affordable.

Scott English Plumbing is great! Their technician, Matt Hamry, came out today for some plumbing repairs. He is very professional, knowledgeable and gave great customer service! He diagnosed the problem and took me through the entire process and explained the different options while keeping me informed throughout.

As an association manager of Irvine communities, I can set my watch to the reliability and helpfulness of the Scott English team.  They always know what to do, have great communication and can normally get to my properties in a swift manner.  Even when I handle the after-hours duties for other communities, Scott English Plumbing have been wonderful in difficult situations.

We've used Scott English multiple times at this point, and they are always so helpful and knowledgeable, and most importantly, do top quality work. Today we had Ryan out to give us a quote on a water filtration system. In addition to providing a wealth of useful information on that topic, he also looked at some issues we were having with our toilets, and gave me some insights into water heaters, as ours is nearing the end of its lifespan. He gave me fair quotes on all the options we discussed, and we will definitely be having back out to do some of that work soon!

Ugh. The plumber that was sent out to us didnt inspire confidence AT ALL. What seemed like a simple job turned into nearly 4 hours of bumbling around and correcting only part of the problem. My biggest bone of contention was the so-called customer service people at the office. Usually the women who answered had their act together, but the guy there acts like every request is inconvenience for him. That makes for no repeat business from me. Scott English Plumbing is a second rate service trying to be something that they aren't...competent.

My complex was notified of maintenance scheduled for 11/6/19 between the hours of 10 am to 5 pm. Come 10:30 pm, our water was still shut off. We called the number provided that specifically said if you have any questions need assistance call: and were given no assistance whatsoever. After asking for an update on the situation this company was unable to name who they handed this job off too. We were told to bring it up to our management .

TLDR; Thirteen hours later, no water, no word on when it will return. We can't use our shower, sink or toilet . This is completely unprofessional.

I called to schedule an appointment with Scott English Plumbing and was given a window of time in the morning.  We waited and waited and kept being told they would let us know when the plumber was on his way. Well, we waited all day and no courtesy call to let us know he was not coming. We were stood up as the plumber never came and no one from the company cared enough to let us know or apologize for wasting one full day of our time. Time is the one thing you cannot get back.  It is unfortunate when a company does not value a potential customers time. This I regard as highly unprofessional. I do not recommend.

But when the immediate concern proved to be a non-issue (the stain on the ceiling was bone dry, no trouble found), he spent the next 30 minutes trying to find a problem ... just seemed like he was fishing for work. At one point he claimed he could hear a drip inside the wall ~ positively bionic ears! I sent him on his way. Not particularly impressed with his fishing expedition.

Called SEP to set appointment to install new bathroom faucet. Asked person on phone if they sell faucets as well. We've had water leaks in the past and wanted to go with the professionals opinion. Told us anything at Home Depot will do. Purchased middle of the road brand (owned by HD), had it installed. Days later we noticed the carpet was wet. Opened vanity doors and everything was soaked. Called SE to investigate, did so and said this is not my guys fault. Stated he normally charges x amount but would cut us a break for this visit. We were wondering were the solution was as well as the warranty. A they could have said buy another brand and we will install it. B I apologize but this was a manufacturers defective product and we apologize but we can't be held responsible for this. But the C scenario was ill go out to the SE truck to write up my trip here for $150 and when you call my supervisor he won't help and I will pound on the door to collect, and terrorize your child. To further the experience, they had the accounting department call several times in a row each day, over months to inform me of my responsibility to pay. Last call was a threat that they would bill me through my HOA by a teenage girl, all for $100?!?!? We concluded it doesn't get more ghetto then this. My HOA confirmed no such billing would happen. Are there any smell good plumbers out there with integrity and customer service?

I love doing home projects myself. It saves a ton of money, and I don't have to re-arrange my home to accommodate workers.

But plumbing is one area I usually call in the professionals.

My home is older, and so I want to make sure the pipes are up to code and won't have to contend with a leak later on.

I have used Scott English Plumbing three times now, and all three times their workers were fantastic.

They explained everything to me, and were very clean and respectful in my home. They also came out the same day that I called them.

It cost $300 for less than an hour of work, but it was worth it. They were fast, clean, and double checked everything to make sure it was correct before they left.

And they back everything up. So it's an investment in peace of mind knowing I won't have a problem later.

I will be using them for all my plumbing jobs.

Chris P. has been the best plumber we've had out here yet. Our condo complex is notoriously bad for plumbing problems (as is most of Aliso Viejo), so we have had our fair share of plumbers out. On the menu today was a pipe burst in our back yard feeding the sprinkler system which flooded the back yard.

Called our go to SE plumbing and they sent Chris right over. The man is clean cut, does clean work, and evidently has the cleanest truck in the fleet! When he was done plumbing, he went above and beyond and asked if there were any other things that he could address before he left. He ended up giving me some high performance shower head tips which I really appreciated.

All and all Chris was fantastic. I hope to see him back here for our next inevitable problem... just hopefully not too soon.

Had Scott English sent out by my HOA to inspect a vent issue.  Plumber who came out was very nice and took video of the blockage.  He was unable to remove it.  When he tried, he actually made my problem worse (not his fault by any means)

The findings were presented at the board meeting 10 days later and the next day, my HOA decided they wanted an immediate 2nd opinion from a supervisor at Scott English. The guy came out less then 90minutes later but this time found no blockage, Chastized me for too much lint as well as some other issues with my dryer.

I received a decline from my HOA about 2 hours later.

My HOA encouraged me to seek a 3rd opinion at my expense.

I now have a box of rocks brought up from the vent by a duct cleaning service.

When my husband called Scott English to discuss the various findings, he was told how lucky we were that we now had a working vent and how we cant expect our HOA to be responsible for everything.

Unfortunately, for them we are in a related industry and always need a reliable and friendly plumbing Company.  We will still be looking.

I've seen their truck in front of many neighbors. I asked for a reference and always got a we use them for all our plumbing. We had several projects needed. I received a phone call at 8 am morning of appt confirming the time. Kip arrived 10 mins early. He was very professional. He listened and communicated well so we were on the same page. Prices were in the middle of range. Plus they have a high BBB rating so i approved the estimate and Kip went right to work. He worked in a timely manner and cleaned up after he was done. I will use them and request Kip again for future projects.

On Sunday the 17th we figured out we had a problem. I tried many options even blasted co2 down the toilet. Ok that was my last option but it worked eventually. Well it was a temporary reprieve. On the 21st the toilet wouldn't flush, the tub wouldn't drain and I contacted Scott English. They responded right away, they were professional during the call. They sent Paul out and he was super nice and personable (should have asked for his number haha). He got to work and kept me informed the whole time. Ended having many issues but they explained everything.  got the camera and showed me the line and that was cool to see. They were there two days at the house, there were challenges for them but they worked hard and seemed to take pride in their work. Always polite! If they seem a little pricey I say you get what you pay for.

We feel like Scott English Plumbing pulled an expensive fast one on us. I want to be fair to them, though. We worked with them twice and were happy with the first service. The first time someone named Tommy fixed a leaky pipe. He was professional, kind, and honest. The next time, though, someone else came to fix a slow bathroom drain. They quoted us about $250 for 1 or 2 drains. We felt that was a little steep but said okay because we were so happy with the work Tommy had done. Part way through the service, he said that it might actually cost about $500 because the buildup was severe. We were surprised by this and would have shopped around if we knew they would charge that much for one drain. Since they had already begun work, though, we consented to it.

Eventually they presented the bill on their iPad which--and this was our bad--we signed without ever seeing a list of services or new/different total. I think we would have had to scroll up on the screen to see those. Later, we learned that the new total was actually around $745 for a single drain. The plumber never told or showed us that amount. From our conversation, we thought it would be around $500. Additionally, we had to wait until they charged our card to find out. When I called about it, they essentially--but politely--said it is what it is and only then emailed us an invoice.

The last thing I will say is that I asked to speak with a manager or supervisor. I wanted to explain that it was upsetting to never hear or see the true final amount until they charged our card. That felt sneaky and unprofessional. To be honest, we felt a little lied to. We also never would have agreed to $745 to fix one slow drain without getting more quotes. Unfortunately, the manager/supervisor never called me back--or if they did, they never left a voice message.

Here is my advice to others: Do consider Scott English Plumbing. Our first experience with Tommy was great! But ask to clarify any new TOTAL cost before agreeing to a change mid-service. Additionally, scroll up on their iPad before signing. Weirdly, one of the worst parts is that we thought we had found our plumbers. I looks like it is back to looking though. :-(

Service by Will and crew excellent.

My back garden overflowed with rain and the water seeped under the house up through the floorboards and walls. I was happy to find this company. Unfortunately, because of the continued rain, work could not be started until the following week. The problem was a capped drainage pipe from back yard to front drains on the street. (Some previous owner or landscape gardner). Will and crew dug trench, removed roots and connected new pipes for drainage. Jimi was good enough to come out in the downpour on the weekend to put pumps in the back yard to drain a little until the work could be started.

Besides the mess , the drawback for me is that my insurance denied the claim, surface water!! So I'm out many $$ but the drainage had to be fixed in addition to inside clean up and new flooring.

They will be my go to plumbers.

I have called Scott English plumbing for my household needs probably 5-6 times now over the years. They are just exceptional. Every Tech has been professional, super clean and really experienced. On this visit, I worked with Mike Whelan. He explained everything to me, and went out of his way to ensure I was comfortable. Most importantly, they are just genuine and sincere people that understand this visit is due to a challenge in the home, and disruption of normal life activities! They are fast and provide quality service. In addition, due to having a blockage of the main line, with nothing in the home working, they came out within 3-4 hours of my call. Same day service! This is the worst plumbing company. They were extremely high, walk around and mess with everything in your house and dont give a true diagnosis, then want you to pay without being even sure what the problem is and try and charge you just to come out. weeks later I had a major leak and they refused, denied and lied stating that they never touched under our sink and they were underneath fiddling with it for 20 minutes. Watch out for these people.

I have used Scott English Plumbing on several occasions.  Each time the staff has been friendly and helpful.  They are also able to accommodate us with the difficulties of condominium complex schedules.  Mikey Falabella has worked on two projects.  He was happy to answer questions and give advice on products to use.  The work was completed fast and efficiently.  
Last week there was another condo complex issue that needed to be addressed.  Mikey was not available but Brett and Carlos were able to respond.  It was a HOA vs  Owner issue they were able to diagnose quickly and contact another resident to offer to repair the same day.  Again, speedy and efficient work was provided.  Thank you to everyone at Scott English Plumbing for excellent customer service.

We live in an association and Scott English is the only plumbing company we are allowed to use. We never needed any plumbers thankfully until this last year and I just wanted to say we love them. Quality work, prompt & nice people. In particular we have worked with Cruz, James Moore and a few others and all have been wonderful. HORRIBLE service! ...1st off these guys are Sooo busy (no idea why..lol 3 star yelp rating?) i was forced to use there services due to HOA. Took almost 1 week just to look at the prob & almost another week to have a tech come fix it..  then 2nd the sink drain pipe on the wall was 6 INCHES TOO HIGH!? and basically came out just under the sink mount...by then the wall had been re-plastered...And 3rd now i start the process all over again! ...4th every time you call here nobody knows whats going on usually resulting in let me call you back or being put on hold constantly.

This was my first experience with this company. I had a minor issue that was causing me a big problem, caused by a neighbor/plumber  who messed up something. They happened to be helping a neighbor with a repair, I literally rolled down my window, asked if they could help me and the dispatcher squeezed me in. Quick fix. Nothing big. Scott English is a ripoffextortion  do not call them. They wanted $400.00+ dollars to change out one bathroom faucet. They wouldn't let me know a ballpark on pricing. when he got there he looked at my sink for a couple minutes then tapped on his iphone for a couple seconds with company preset pricing on it. Its so frustrating having to wait around all day when they can easily tap on a computer and give you a ballpark price

Call Scott English to fix a leaking toilet.  Two guys come out and inform me that the fill valve was faulty.  They replaced the inside parts and valve.  $420 later, he tells me I basically have a brand new toilet.  Fine.  Next day, it's running on its own.  Call them back.  New guy says I must replace the entire toilet now.  Great.  I call their office and they admit that the 1st plumber was wrong and I basically wasted my money.  There is Zero chance I will use them for the new problem.

First of all, Travis Flanders, the technician who helped me, was FANTASTIC!

Scott English Plumbing was less than half the cost (to replace the water pressure regulator) than the other company we asked first total for the whole job, and they were quick (they came the very next morning, and didn't take long to do the work either), convenient, and so professional. Travis Flanders was friendly, professional, and explained the work he was doing in a way that was simple (but not condescending whatsoever). I've now programmed Scott English Plumbing in my phone for next time (with a note to ask for Travis!).

I have had Scott English Plumbing out four times in the last nine months. Three  out of four were great. If you have a choice ask for, Diego or Jimi. Both of them were great. Diego came out to clear a plugged up drain. He showed up quickly and got the stoppage cleared. He was courteous and professional. Jimi came out to look for a leak I had behind the wall. I told him I had ordered a $25 moisture meter to check it. He laughed and said that it would most likely not give the correct reading anyway.  He had an expensive and effective FLIR meter that showed that there was no moisture. Jimi like Diego was very friendly, courteous, and professional.

I've been a long time customer (10+ years) however in the last few years the plumbers have been less accurate and I've had to get them to come back to fix their errors. They are usually responsive but they were not the last time and repeatedly said they'd call me back but did not unless I called to remind them they promised to help.
This last time they charged me for replacing two items and labor on the invoice but only replaced one. I didn't realize until the very late at night the problem was back. After multiple attempts to contact them, they would not come back on the weekend (next day) for free to correct their error. My weekend was ruined by this.Regardless of fault they wanted $250 to arrive over the weekend. A different plumber arrived on Monday and I had to convince him to replace that second part, but once he did, it was repaired. He was great.
I will no longer use them or refer friends to them.
My invoices were not adjusted. I received the second item when the field supervisor came out to fix the first guys mistake.
Update- the invoice was not updated but the work was done to match the invoice once the second guy fixed it. I did not receive a discount, adjustment or credit or a call to apologize for the confusion. I should not have to call or beg to get work corrected when I pay for it.

I awoke yesterday morning to water on my living room floor. It was hard to tell where it was coming from...was it coming up through the tile? Coming down the wall? I called my HOA. They will only cover a slab leak, but they said they would send a plumber to check it out. If it was a slab leak, they would pay for everything, if not, I would be responsible.

Victor from Scott English arrived within the window of time promised and he was really nice and professional. He quickly went all over my house and checked out all the possible places the water could be leaking from, and finally determined it was a pipe within the living room wall.

Next thing I know, he had cut holes out of my wall (NOOOOO!!!!) and found the leak. He fixed it very quickly. He was very apologetic for having to cut the wall open, apologetic for the leak ever happening. Of course it wasn't his fault, but he was so genuine about it.

I would say he was here about an hour, he was nice and talkative, making conversation about my crazy dog barking upstairs and other things. I will now need a company to come and dry the wall out for me, which he said Scott English does not do, but he recommended I check with my HOA for a reference. I will be going through my insurance company, so hopefully they send me somebody good!

I already have a plumber I use when things usually go wrong, but I would not hesitate to put Scott English on my list, in case my other place is not available.

Price for leak detection and repair was $425, which was $100 more than their usual rate because it was after hours. They also offer a one year warranty on whatever they do.

Jonnie came out today and fixed a leak in a bathroom sink.  He was courteous, professional and did a great job.  Unfortunately he was the third plumber this company sent to fix the leak.  Neither of the first two were able to correctly diagnose the problem.  Couldn't have been happier with Jonnie and the rating would be higher if I was just rating him but his two predecessors wasted our time in this simple issue.

I have had problems with the pipes in my tub/shower since I bought this condo.  Several weeks ago, all three of my neighbors, who this affected, were informed that Scott English guys would be doing their best.  Well, it took some time, but all the guys sent out were professional, friendly, on time and completely honest.  Since the HOA has to handle this, I was worried, but SEP has worked with them hand in glove.  I cannot recommend them highly enough.  But, yes, these things take time to do correctly.  Thank God I have another bathroom which I used in the process, but the problem seems to be solved.  Thanks Scott English!

We had a slow leaking water tank issue. Called Scott English plumbing and they fixed it right away by replacing the old water tank. Omar and Steven handled the job professionally, were extremely knowledgeable and had the job completed in a timely manner. I would highly recommend this plumbing company. I had a toilet clogged and called Scott English Plumbing for assistance. They were prompt in picking up the phone and happened to have an available technician to send out the very same day. Their technician called me at least 30 minutes prior to arrival. Joshua was courteous, clean, well informed, and did a great job of letting me know in advance what his approach to fixing our issue would be. Brett Forguson came out last Wednesday to confirm my suspicion that the waterline from the street to the house was leaking badly.  He confirmed, setup to have all buried lines marked, set up a subcontractor to drill the lines from the street to the house so as to cause minimal landscape disruption and NO disruption to the hardscape.  Could have been a mess.  Came today with apprentice George at 7:15 and was all done by 2:30.  Very professional, courteous and focused.   Would highly recommend Scott English Plumbing for a similar plumbing need.

Scott English plumbing was hired to hydro-jet our condo.  Unfortunately there was a small spillage.....

What Scott English Plumbing provided, to assist in cleaning up the mess and making sure our unit was put together just as it was prior to the accident, was second to none.  The organization from top to bottom is an absolute class act.  

They went out of their way to make things right and to make them right as quickly as possible.  

Accidents, in any industry happen, but how a company responds to them is a real test.  

I would gladly recommend Scott English again and will make sure I use them, personally, for any interior plumbing issues I have.

Had a leak in my home and I called Scott English Plumbing to check where the source of the leak was originating. Despite it being a Sunday at 7:30am, we received a call back within 10 minutes of leaving a voicemail. They had a plumber scheduled to arrive within the hour. They sent out Mikey, he was friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to find the source of the leak and had the pipe replaced in a few short hours. Would definitely use their services in the future!

I called for free estimate of smelly in bathroom, on 2/15/2019, Johnny Jarquin was sent from Scott English Plumbing to diagnostic, Johnny came to my house (Buena Park, CA) and checked around then said that He need to cut open the under sink wall to look for the cause, the price I have to pay was going to be $150 and if I would want to fix it, the $150 will be applied toward  the final finishing. I was okay for Johnny to open the wall,  He did found out where the problem came from and He told the final price will be $450.
I wanted for him to started to right way but He said it was too late, I have to make appointment for another day. I written him a check for $150 He took the check and left. Finally I got another appointment with him on 2/19/2019 to complete what he was left off, 45 minutes later the job was completed and I wrote him the final check of $300 as we have agreed upon, Johnny looked at the check's amount and notes in his Ipad then left.
Two days later He called me, said that he had problem with the balance of check, it was not enough? He said that the $450 that was the price I have to pay not including the $150 initial charged? We talked about the issue about 15 minutes, But it was not helping. I called Scott English Manager his name is Mark, He very polite and called me back after his investigation about the issue.  Mark told me that after I paid the final price $300 and initial price $150, I have complete the payment for the service, thanks you Mark for your help.
I still don't know why that was happining? Johnny did look at the amount of the check and left then 2 days later he found out error of the amount? He know how to do the math, I am wondering? or he though I am a fool? the initial estimate always apply toward the finish fixing price in state of California.

Recently, the faucet in our shower bath (tub/shower combo) was not diverting water to the showerhead so we had it replaced so that it can temporarily at least bring water up (we didn't mind not having water through the tub spout as the tub is not being used anyway). But today, the tub spout started leaking, so my husband called around for a plumber to take a look at that leak and also at the leak at our powder room sink. He later gets an appointment for 'inspection' from Scott English Plumbing. I give them stars and kudos for being responsive and for their courteous and professional manners.

I was working from home, so I let my husband deal with Joshua and another technician from SEP. I thought they were taking their time inspecting, so I walked over. I found out that they had already cut the tub spout pipe to better fit the temporary spout we had. But the leak was still there. Worse, now the water was not even going up the showerhead like it was doing before they came. So, Joshua had to replace the spout with one that had a diverter just so the water could go either to the spout or the showerhead.

Fixing the spout is fine, but truly it's a waste of money since we're planning on renovating this bathroom. The leak - and the corresponding high water bill - is our current pressing concern, which we were told was caused by a broken valve that is not being manufactured anymore and would cause more $ and take more time. But it was after they fixed the spout that they told us the valve is the problem. My husband said ok to fixing the spout, with the understanding that it will fix the leak.

So please communicate, communicate, communicate, and inspect EVERYTHING before giving the homeowner options and definitely before doing any work.

We hope that the business will take this as a constructive client  feedback - meant to make our local, small businesses better. This is a small project, but when we do need plumbing services for the major ones, then who are we going to call?

Problem:  Clogged kitchen sink drain

I spent an hour doing online research on different plumbers.  From the well-knowns to the unknowns, I found the ratings to be up and down.  I chose Scott English Plumbers because their ratings appeared to be most consistently favorable, and also their A+ rating with BBB.

Dan spent some time on the phone initially as we talked through the problem.  This gave them information on what to expect upon arrival.

Steve is the one who came out......after I received a phone call from the office to tell me someone was on the way.  He respected my home by wearing booties, putting down tarps to keep the floor clean, and he even brought his own paper towels.  He quickly fixed the problem, but he took the time to discuss the issue, probable causes, and any appropriate future preventive maintenance.  Additionally, he took the time to look at and answer questions about our tankless water heater, even though there were no issues with it.

My neighbor was present at the time (he has plumbing experience) and we both agreed that we were happy with the service and honesty, and the education we both received about plumbing in general.

I've owned two other homes before and have used plumbers but no one has ever taken the time or showed this much respect or honesty than Scott English Plumbing.

I am generally not very trusting of contractors until they prove themselves, but I was very much relieved with the quality of this service.

I've seen the negative reviews on this site, which are completely opposite of my experience.  You can't judge a company by one bad apple.

I own a condo in Huntington Beach that has a recurring plumbing issue, requiring the main condo association plumbing line to be flushed out every 6 to 9 months.  As the owner of the ground level end unit, when the main plumbing line begins to back up due to food, hair, etc going down our drains and causing clogs after the pipes merge just past my unit, my condos kitchen sink is the closest outlet to see the water backing up.  Despite the association approving and paying for the plumbing services, previous plumbing companies have required that I be physically present to meet them at the condo unit and they always inspect my pipes to make sure I am not causing the clog.  Scott English Plumbing promptly came out and assessed the plumbing needs, and agreed that what I said is correct and the service was necessary.  Best of all, they acknowledged that there was no need to access my unit in the future in order to flush the main plumbing line which is located on the exterior of my condo wall.  I thoroughly appreciate their exceptional service, for understanding the recurring need of this condo building and for saving me time by understanding that there is no need to access my unit to flush the main pipe.  Next time i notice the main line backing up, I will definitely request my association use Scott English Plumbing's services.

With our kitchen sink in the back corner of our houses (plus a dip in the line with ours) the line gets grease build up and an odor.  W had Scott English Plumbing come out this week and hydrojet the line and scoped it.  For almost 1/2 what the others charge!  Diego did a great job and cleaned up so that you'd not know he was there.
We have our line hydrojetted about every 3-4 years to avoid backups in the kitchen sink and Scott English Plumbing is hands down the one we'll call.  We highly recommend them.

We have had Scott English Plumbing come to our home a couple of times in the past with no repair problems.  Yesterday, we had an appointment for one of their technicians to come out and he was a no show.  We contacted the office and a supervisor called us back and apologized and said a technician would be out first thing in the morning and we would also receive a $25 credit against the next days call charge due to our inconvenience. Today a technician arrived  and couldn't repair our leaking kitchen faucet and had no repair parts with him.  We were told the part was discontinued for our type of faucet.  We were charged a $145.00 call fee and we still have the leaking faucet.  We were also offered to have a new faucet installed including labor for $663.00.  No thank you, we will be not calling Scott English Plumbing again.

Stop leaving notices on my door saying the water will be off until a certain time and leave the hot water off all night. Clearly the notice says the water will be off between 10am and 4pm. It is 12:18AM and there is no hot water for me to shower after work!!! This is the 2nd time!!  Clearly no quality service either as described in their history. Extremely disappointing and VERY inconsiderate of your staff.

They sent out some guy wanting to drill through my fiberglass long story short I called another place they found the leak and fixed it oh by the way not through the fiber glass. Last Saturday my tenant called and told me that there was water all over the living room floor of our condo.  After we turned off the water and called our insurance company, I called Scott English Plumbing.  I told them that we had a slab leak and needed it repaired right away.  That afternoon Patrick the plumber came out and spent a few hours cutting out drywall trying to find the leaking pipe. He also cut through the upstairs unit's sewer pipe in 2 places and had to repair his mistake.  He never attempted to use his leak detection equipment to check the slab for the leaking pipe while water was still saturating the carpet. He didn't know what the heck he was doing so he called another plumber named Cruz for help.  Cruz knew the leak was in the slab and he used the leak detector to find the leaking pipe. Patrick wasted several hours Saturday looking in the walls and causing other problems.   It was getting late so they decided to shut off the water and come back on Sunday morning. Cruz came back Sunday morning and opened up the slab directly over the leaking pipe and made the repair.  He closed up the hole and it was fixed except for all of the drywall removed by Patrick. The invoice for this repair was $3060.00!!!  See the photo.  We were told that the invoice was billed for time and a half for off hours.  These prices are outrageous!  We needed water for our tenants and we felt that we were taken advantage of by this company.  Monday morning I called the office to discuss the invoice and to try to find out exactly how they came up with this price.  Dispatcher Brian rudely told me that I had options and that I didn't have to use their company if I didn't like their prices.  What???  We needed the repair immediately and we needed water for our tenants.  My husband got in the car and drove to office to speak with Scott English personally.  He was told that Patrick was not a slab leak specialist.  Why in the heck was he sent to us when I clearly reported a slab leak?  What kind of training do these plumbers really have?  Scott listened while my husband shared what happened and said he knew nothing about our situation. Scott said he would discuss with his staff and call us back in a few hours.  To Scott's credit, he called us back as promised and offered to take off the overtime portion of the invoice.  FYI Last year I used another plumber for a slab leak and I paid $1150.00.  I feel paying over $2000 is way out of line!  I would not recommend this company and I won't be calling them again.

I have a wide spread faucet on a bathroom sink that I believed was leaking possibly on the cold side. I called Scott English Plumbing and Chris answered said they could come out next day and check the problem at no charge. If I needed work done after they inspect it they will give me a price to repair. Sounds as fair as can be with today's environment everybody wants to charge just to come out for a service call, then give a price on top of the service call to fix it.  Today the Scott English plumber arrived promptly, he spent time to analyze if and where the leak came from and determined the faucet was fine.  I was pleasantly surprised, and told him how much I appreciated his honesty, as I thought for sure I had a problem! He said no need to replace the cartridge at this time, as I had the hot side cartridge replaced one year ago by another plumbing co who I will not use again! I appreciate the honest advice Evan gave me and in the future I will only call Scott English Plumbing and ask for Evan. We are Senior Citizens and it is refreshing to come across a company that is as honest as Scott English Plumbing.

Scott English has helped me with plumbing disasters a couple of times, always with excellent results.
Most recently, I had a blocked main drain. I managed to get a snake 25 feet into the drain and it got completely stuck, wouldn't budge in or out (and didn't clear the drain ...).
I called Scott English, and they had a tech out within an hour. Louis S. calmly figured out the convoluted plumbing in our (older) house, which does not have a clean-out anywhere near where the the blockage was. He figured out the best way to clear the problem, which was the result of years of neglect, and left it good as new. All the while Louis patiently answered all my questions. By the time he left I felt that I had made a new friend. Thank you!

We have a rental and our tenants were moving in the next day, when I realized the toilets didn't flush well. Chris, from Scott English Plumbing, went to the rental that evening! He even had two toilets available to install. He gave me three options, one being replacing two of the toilets (most expensive), and a second option that cost less, and a third option that would cost the least. I chose the two new toilets. He installed them that evening, then came back the next day for finishing touches. I joked that I didn't know a toilet could be beautiful, but yes, they make the whole bathroom look so much better! Great customer service and professionalism!

We called Scott English Plumbing out to check on our water heater. We weren't sure, if we could repair or needed to replace it.  Our technician was Luke C. And he was extremely knowledgeable and professional.  He analyzed the problem and we were able to keep our existing Water Heater.  Although they are not a HVAC company, he replaced a valve and flex line on my furnace and hopefully extended the life of the furnace and avoided a huge outlay of expense.  Luke did an outstanding job.

These guys are crooks.  I had them install a garbage disposal and it worked great.  When I ran my dishwasher it didn't drain after so I had to have a company come out to figure out what was wrong.  That company came out and stuck their hand in the garbage disposal and said that the cap to drain the dishwasher was never removed.  They charged $125 for less than 5 minutes of work.  I called Scott English plumbing to get reimbursed for the $125 since they obviously didn't perform the install correctly.  At first it seemed like they were more than willing to help.  I dealt with Edward Urrunaga who is the dispatch manger according to his email.  He had me email him a copy of the invoice from the repair company that charged me $125.  He confirmed he received that and will get with the owner.  That was two weeks ago and he is no longer responding.  Every time I call he is busy.  Horrible customer service and it is obvious the owner could care less.  I will be reporting them to the BBB as well.  I also had them come out and quote me on a hot water heater replacement.  I got a few bids and they well $1200 more than the other two bids I got.  I do not recommend doing any business with them!

We had used Scott English Plumbing several times and will use them again and again.  We own and rent out our 36 year old condo and have had excellent results.  Bob Forester was our Tech and we had a slow draining bathtub and blockage in our two sinks in the master bath.  He managed to use a snake to clear the drains.  He was very courteous and did a great job.  During these Covid-19 times he had a mask on and wore booties on his shoes every time he entered our unit.  We will use Scott English Plumbing for all of our future needs.  Thank you!

This place has surpassed my expectations. I called multiple plumbers when I had an emergency and this was the first place to come within the hour in a professional, clean attire. They had to snake the mainline due to poor new-construction building/piping. I even had an issue a week later and they came out for free because they guarantee/warranty their service. This is the organization that our HOA uses.  The techs are very polite.  However, the issues are never fully resolved and the communication goes around in circles.  I received two satisfaction surveys for a tech that I never met and never heard from.  I've talked to two reps who asked, What can we do to make it right?  One rep asked, What's the bottom line here?  FIX THE PROBLEM!

Seems they take one step per visit and leave vs. verifying that step worked and taking the next step if it didn't.  Starting to feel like it's an opportunity to charge our HOA for multiple visits.  Pretty ridiculous considering they frequently have to turn off water to the whole building for these issues.  Seems like you'd want to take every step you can to fix it in one shot.

We used them for hydrojetting our landscape drainage.  They were not able to actually resolve any of our slow draining issues and claimed that there were roots blocking the drainage.  For the price that we paid, we would have expected more effort to get through some of the roots and resolve the issue (roots clogging drains being the reason why you hire someone to hydrojet your drains in the first place).

Complete misdiagnosed the problem with my kitchen sink clog.  Wanted to replace the entire piping at a cost of almost $1200.  Refused to simply snake the line, saying it would do no good.  I got a second opinion.  Plumber snaked the line found the clog 75 feet from the sink.  Now it is good as new.

Two technicians, Ulises and Corren, arrived on time to replace all Reverse Osmosis filters on an iSpring model RCC-7.  I would not expect them to know how to replace filters for every manufacture.  The procedure is more complex than unscrewing each filter and installing a new one.  They appeared to be 2 deer in the headlights.  After asking if they need some help, they replied, yes.  I took my tablet and Googled Replace RCC-7 filters.  They watched a 7-minute video which led them step by step through the process.  

After the filters were installed, the water was turned on but did not flow, but continued to drip from the faucet as if the filters were not changed.  Plumber, Ulises Cardenas informed me it would take two hours for the reserve tank to fill up and they left.
Opening the faucet four hours later, the spigot continued to drip.  The faucet was closed overnight. Opening the faucet the next morning, the faucet dripped.

Contacting Scott English Plumbing the next morning, technician, Jayson arrived in a few hours.  I asked him if the three-gallon tank storing the water that has gone through the filters was pressurized.  He checked the tank pressure with the same pressure gauge you used on your tires.  Result, zero pressure.  He attempted to pressurize the tank with a small hand-held pump with no results.  he asked if I had a bicycle tire pump, which I did and he applied enough pressure to promote about 10% of normal volume.  he informed me an electric pump will be required and did not think he would be back that day to finish the job.  The next day was Saturday.  

Monday morning, Scott English Plumbing telephoned.  Jayson arrived and pumped the tank to the correct pressure.

Extremely honest!  I thought I had to have a new and larger drainpipe for a washing machine installed but Hasan did not think that would be necessary and just that the pipe needed snaked.  As he suspected, that was the only issue resulting in a much less expensive fix.  I would definitely use them again.

Really frustrated. It's been a year.
The work done wasn't the best at the time. I had to ask for conduit to cover electrical wiring outdoors for a water heater. Today due to a different (non-plumber) company doing work I discovered my outdoor water heater is an INDOOR installation unit. Page 4 of the manual states NOT to install Outdoors. May cause damage to the unit and potential FIRE risk.
So thanks guys. I now have to figure out how to fix this situation with limited financial resources.

Called Wednesday regarding dripping shower head.  Let them know Kohler valve kit number that is installed as well as number of Kohler replacement cartridge number needed.  I had gotten that info from Ferguson.  Scott English told me that they have Kohler Cartridges on the truck and it would be no problem at all.  Guy shows up on Thursday at 4:00 pm.  No mask, no booties.  Says it needs replacement cartridge.  I tell him the model of the valve kit and the replacement cartridge.  He drives to Ferguson and comes back empty-handed because he did not think to call and confirm that they even had it.  Tells me he will try to get part on Friday and install.  I call at 9:00 am on Friday to find out what the plan is.  I am being told that I will get a call back to let me know.  At 1:00 pm still no one called me back.  I call and am being told that they have the part now but that they will install on Tuesday.  
This is epic customer service failure on many levels and a complete waste of my time, which I do not appreciate.   If I could give zero, I would

Unannounced & uninvited two guys were observed at our property. They ignored the large, Beware of Dog sign, they ignored the doorbell, installed just beside the entry gate for their convenience. They then had the poor judgement to further cross the line, reach over our fence, to remove a padlock, trying to gain illegal entry to our property. When I confronted them as to what they were doing on my property, they turned and left. NO explanation . . NO apology . . NOTHING. Later, an unsolicited voicemail msg is left . . . at our unlisted cell phone number, saying that Damon of Scott English feels we need to reschedule. Interesting . . . considering this is all a complete and utter shock . . we NEVER scheduled a plumber. HOW did this obviously, judgement impaired company get my private phone number ? Some definite retraining is in order for these folks. Possibly too much gravy work from the HOA's have dulled this company's sensitivity to the fact that actual living, breathing, families are within the structures they are called to service. A little professional courtesy and respect shouldn't be too much to expect, when dealing with the public. Don't let the one star fool you, this is not a company I could recommend, to anyone, under any circumstance.

Overdue review by about 5 months - This is my third service call with Scott English plumbing.  Each time has been a positive experience. I've had two major water issues one cracked water pipes in the wall draining into garage, next was bathroom leaky pipe that was discovered during an elective plumbing changeout of old corroded bathroom fixtures. Both Shannon S. and Isaiah were professional and thorough and efficient. Shannon explained his finding and made recommendations through the process. They worked very well as a team Shannon providing guidance to Isaiah. Shannon even commented to me on what an excellent bright young man Isaiah is and a pleasure to work with. He said that he would soon be out on his own taking his own service calls. Both had such a positive attitude.  Excellent!

Our townhome was experiencing a water leak from a pipe in the wall, leading to water on the ground outside the front door. After speaking with our HOA and informing them of the problem, they called Scott English Plumbing. That same day, within a few hours, Jimi came by to take a look at the issue, which was amazing. Even more amazing was Jimi's statement, after a while opening the walls to find the leak, that he would deal with this immediately.. and he did! Great service, professional and courteous. I can't speak to the service costs as the HOA is covering the bill, but the service was excellent!

Called on a Sunday afternoon due to plumbing issues. John F. came within 20 minutes and was very professional. He handled the situation very well as my garage was being flooded. Talk about awful. First there was the $600 kitchen faucet (Really???) Then, not a scant 3 months later, I have a slab leak. Ok...not their fault. $3,000 to fix said leak. That is a little ridiculous considering that a complete re-pipe is about $5,000. Now, less than one week after the slab leak fix, while I am in the midst of planning a complete re-pipe for about $5,000 (Scott English estimate was $11,000 for a re-pipe...ha ha) there is another slab leak involving the same area...but according to them has nothing to do with the re-routing that they did less than a week ago. I find that highly suspicious and improbable. I think that I will have the re-pipe company pull out the re-route that they did (only 3 year warranty) and re-pipe it themselves (lifetime warranty). Scott English plumbing should be embarrassed for providing such shoddy and expensive work. I will be asking my property manager to avoid using them in future at my house.

Kyle came to our home to deal with a backed up toilet - he was kind and professional, and explained what he intended to do and how much it would cost if plan A worked as well as what the options were if it didn't work. (plan B).  We had an automatic toilet bowl cleanser attached to the inside of the bowl which somehow got flushed in the toilet (causing the backup).  Kyle attempted to pull the piece out but in the process pushed it in.  It resolved the backup but hopeful that it doesn't cause further plumbing problems later.  He also took a look at our sink and patiently explained how we could easily fix it - parts had washed past the trap but are inexpensive to purchase.

I called on a friday morning and was able to set up an appointment between 1-3 pm and they would call and notify me when they were the way. I was real happy as I needed a plumber to come that day.
At 2:50 I get a call and they ask me if my appointment was scheduled for today and I reply yes isn't that why you are calling me now? They say well we don't have a technician in that area now so can we reschedule? So I figure I guess for later today right? Wrong! They want to come out on Monday or Tuesday.
I scheduled my day around this and they really messed it up and now I will have to find some else and have a leaky kitchen drain until then.

Attention all yelp users, beware of this company. My HOA uses this company. They do not tell you that they charge to come assess whether or the HOA is going to pay or if the HOA doesn't cover it. My downstairs neighbor called the HOA about a water spot on her ceiling and the HOA contacted Scott English Plumbing (SEP). The woman from SEP who called me to schedule an appointment just asked what was the best time for them to come...no mention of an assessment fee! The guy who came just told me it's my problem and the HOA wasn't going to cover it. He then told me I have to pay him $175 for coming out. I refused because I never called them in the first place and the woman who scheduled the time with me never mentioned a fee. So he left. After 5 min I opened up my shower valve to get a better look and asked him to come back upstairs to check it out closer to at least look at the source to confirm the HOA wasn't going to cover it. He did, and  looked at the pipe for 1 min and said in a sarcastic way that I'm going to be paying around $10,000 to remodel my downstairs neighbors bathroom, then he left. I received a bill in the mail for $175 + $134 for his return visit, basically they are charging me for the guy to come back up the stairs???? Unbelievable. I called SEP and talked to Damon, he was loud and rude and wouldn't even let me speak. He said he'll have the association bill me because it's their word against mine. If your HOA uses them I would ask the HOA to use a different company, I definitely would suggest getting another company for any plumbing issue. Total rip off!

They came to my rental property as the HOA's plumber and capped off one pipe that was leaking.  While they were capping of one pipe they said another one had a leak, so another plumber was called out.  I later learned that they cut a pipe and left leaving my tenant without the ability to turn on the water for days until the HOA could get another plumber out to fix it.  
They also instructed me to turn the water back on which flooded my downstairs. They sent a dryout company to dry the carpet but after it was dry the company left me a carpet that was pulled out and all the padding removed which I have to now pay on my dime to fix for an error on their end

We were in need of a plumber who could do a repair for our outdoor gas line piping.  We found the right company and the Right Person, Christopher Tonstall, do do the repair.
 Christopher was very forthcoming with information about our particular situation and was showing us as he and his partner did the repair the materials used etc.  They had to dig deep in the ground and under our walkway in order to do the repairs. They left the property in good order and also showed us the piping that was removed and how poorly the piping was installed in a prior repair.

These guys were bordering on criminal. They overcharged on everything. And upcharged on every task. Insisted on replacing things that didn't need to be replaced. Work was poorly executed. We needed to have them come back when the plumbing repairs were leaking. And the overcharges were shocking. We had a water heater needing replacement. The manufacturer replaced the water heater itself under warranty. But Scott English Plumbing charged over $6,000 for the labor alone. After-the-fact I called another plumber and was told that the standard charge for this work should have been under $2,000. I'm going to have to call another plumber to get back the functionality I had before they came. I'm tired of dealing with them and am tired of being ripped off. They won't stand behind their work. I still don't have reliable hot water.

Buyer beware. These guys are perhaps the worst company I have ever dealt with. Don't use them unless you want over-the-top prices and poor quality work.

I've never posted a yelp review in my life. But the shocking rip-off by these con-artists has me worried about other people as gullible as I was.

Great customer services. I called for a clogged problem and someone was out within a few hours. Hugo, Ivan, and Zach were very professional. Don't fool by how young they look, very knowledgeable. They took pictures and explained what they were doing. The wore shoe covers and cleaned up with bathroom with disinfectant cleaner. Even the next day, Hugo called me to discuss line by line the quote that was written up for future repairs regarding old pipes.

I needed help with some small details regarding a toilet I had installed that had a hard-to-find leak. I looked at Google, called in the morning, excellent phone service. I scheduled for a same day afternoon appointment. I got a call a half hour later they had a cancellation and could come within the hour. Great.
Alex turned up, put on his shoe covers, listened to my input, then went to work. I thought he may have to break through the new wall tile I had just installed, but Alex contorted himself to fix the leak without demolition. He was very knowledgeable, respectful, efficient and a great listener. Completed the job, and gone within an hour. Awesome!!

This company is horrible.  In order to fix a leak in the common area, Scott English Plumbing hired by the HOA insisted to inspect the inside of two units.  I made appointments with the tenants, the plumber did not show up.  It happened three times in three weeks, they missed three appointments without any explanations.  The leak kept on going for more than a month.  I had to brought this up to the community manger, and she finally hired another plumber.  The leak was fixed right away by the new plumber, no need to get into any unit.  Stay away from this company that has no responsibility and no respect to people.

I was forced to use them because of my HOA. They're intentionally not transparent about what they'll include with job. In my experience, they fixed my laundry supply valve, then just packed up and left a huge hole in my drywall. I previously had a quote from another company at the same price and included them patching up the hole.

I called to complain numerous times and they would redirect me to their manger, Ed, who was conveniently never available.

I had a drain pipe removed due to a leak. I thought, no more than $500.  It was almost $1000. Yup. I was even charged because they did not have to cut out any drywall. Though, it had an access panel!Yup, scratching my head.  After speaking to the plumber I've hired in the past--he wasn't available throughout the week, a reason why I had to use this company--the company way overcharged me.

We had an urgent issue on a Saturday night with a gas leak in our kitchen area. Matt came to our house and quickly diagnosed the problem. The technician, Shannon, impressed me as a person genuinely interested in my situation.  He is 5 stars in my book.  He gave me a quote which I felt was very fair without any upsell.  I had three other companies give me quotes who tried to upsell me on things I didn't need.  One quoted me $85 for a part I found at Orchards for less than $10.  But when I scheduled the installation, the service reps had to reschedule to the next day because they had an 'emergency'.  Being without a kitchen sink for 10 days is an emergency to me.  The following day they called to once again reschedule my appointment from Friday afternoon to Monday morning.  They said that Shannon was on an all-day project and all the other technicians called in sick that day (Friday).  It wasn't until I said I couldn't wait until Monday that they came up with a Saturday appointment.  Thus the 3 stars.  But overall this is a good company.

i am a contractor and was working at a customers home and the home owner called Scott English Plumbing to reset a toilet. The cast iron toilet flange was broken where one of the bolts come through. I have seen several toilet flanges fixed with a simple inexpensive device designed for this specific purpose (about a 15 min fix).  Scott English Plumbing quoted a very very high price to do the repair, over 3 times the  cost to reset the toilet! This elderly homeowner was being taken advantage of and I asked the plumber to just use the device and was told it wouldn't last. He also asked if I was paying for the repair, I wasn't, and what difference does that make.  I won't say how much was quoted but it was around $200 an hr. for several hrs.
I don't know how any plumber can justify those kind of charges!

So from the very beginning of dealing with this company it was not the best customer service in getting back to me or my landlord. I had to basically hunt them down to do the work. It irritates me but nothing to where I'd freak out over. Once we finally nailed down a time and date the technician came out and said he had to open the whole shower fixture up (it was one of those fancy boxes) before he could really see where the issue was. Which again whatever that's fine. They finally came back with an estimate of $800+ to fix the issue. To which my landlord agreed but neither he or I was told they weren't replacing it with the same fixture! Instead it was some horrible cheap shower head that couldn't have cost more than $15. Which yet again it irrated me but whatever. But before this the tech called and said he was going to have to cut into the tile and drywall in order to fix it properly, and it'd be a $165 extra charge to fix that. At NO point did he or anyone else say anything other than that was the cost to fix it properly. They didn't say oh by the way we're leaving a gaping hole in your drywall, so you'll need to have someone fix that after we're done! They'd also said it'd be a few days job so when he told me they'd fixed the shower part but we'd have to wait a few days to take a shower, I assumed that meant they'd be back to finish the work. Well 2 or so weeks goes by and neither me or the landlord hear anything from them. So I call to find out when they're coming back to fix the rest, and the lady tells me oh no we don't fix drywall! So I explained what happened and how we were never told ANYTHING like that. She said she'd get back to me and still nothing to this day!!! Oh and did I mention they cracked a counter top (a very expensive counter top), and whatever they used to try and clean the drywall mess up, stained the stone on the countertop??? I give 1 & 1/2 stars only because no one was rude about the situation, but this is not ok!!!

Less than two years ago I had SEP install a water pressure regulator at my house and recently discovered that it had gone out.Even though it was past the one year guarantee I had been given, I had never seen one go out in that short of period of time. I called and asked why it should't have lasted longer. A plumber who was sent to my home checked things out and could not explain why the regulator went out so soon. He then called his boss who blamed it on the city water pressure being too high. He did tell the employee to give me a $50.00 discount to install a new one. The man said since there would be no soldering necessary the price would be lower. I was surprised to get a quote of $447.00! This was considerably more than what I was charged before and quickly realized that would have been approximately $700.00 for two simple regulators in less than two years! I feel SEP is all about money and will not use their service again.

Needed a water heater replacement, and had been considering switching to a tankless system.  Techs Chris and James arrived, assessed the existing system, and, were willing to talk through my options regarding tank vs. tankless, how everything might behave given my water softener, etc.

I ultimately opted to have them install a new tank, and I *greatly* appreciated the chance to talk through everything with Chris and James.  They were professional, courteous, friendly, and open, and made the experience pretty much stress-free.

I have another day of plumbing fun ahead, and plan to request Chris and James for that work if they're not all booked up saving somebody else's hot water.  They have earned my trust.

Price gouging much? Had a leak in our ceiling we thought was the fire sprinkler due to the location. HOA forced us to have them come out after hours to confirm as it would have been a common area issue. They came out for literally 10 minutes and used my ladder to access the crawlspace only to tell us it was an overflowing pan for the AC unit. I understand an upcharge for after-hours, but nearly $200 for a literal 10-minute visit? Seems a little unfair. Steve was super nice but I wish they would grant them a little more pricing flexibility when situations like this occur especially considering the HOA forced us to use them.

I had Scott English plumbing out to repair a toilet that leaked in a rental unit I own.  They were the preferred plumber of my HOA association. Tracy showed up on time and was professional and knowledgeable.  He diagnosed the problem and replaced the fill valve, flapper and supply line.  Took about 40 minutes.  I was charged $255.  It seemed a bit high.  I also did some google research and that too reinforced my gut feeling of being overpriced  I would probably give them more stars had the price not been so high. Also, I was told I would receive a $25 check for leaving a Yelp review.  Well, I'm here to tell you that is not true.  I even emailed them and never heard back.  I don't do business this way.  I will not waste my time with a gimmicky unscrupulous, overpriced company like Scott English plumbing when there are too many honest, fairly priced and integral plumbers out there.

Mike was excellent! He took his time to explain things to me and sent pictures to me so I could understand better.

When I had a plumbing issue after he hydro jetted the pipes, he came back to check what the issue was. Didn't try to blame anyone, didn't try to deny he did anything wrong or make it complicated. He came out, identified the issue, and explained it to me so that I could easily understand the issue was NOT caused by his work.

A huge plus is that I can book an appointment through text or email. They reply very fast.

We just remodeled our kitchen and we needed to install our water filter, garbage disposal, connect our dish washer and we needed to connect our new sink. We called Scott English Plumbing and spoke with Kelly, who was very informative and assisted us in scheduling a visit. Brett was very professional, took all safety precautions for COVID, he wore a mask, shoe covers and gloves. He was informative and thorough and gave us a quote after assessing what needed to be done. Our old garbage disposal was not going to fit under our sink with our new water filter, Brett let us know, informed us what needed to be done and gave us advice on new garbage disposals that would work and gave us a new quote before continuing. We are 100% happy with the service and would recommend using them for any plumbing needs!

We have used Scott English Plumbing for our plumbing needs and were pretty happy with the work they did. However, this has now changed. We called them out for a kitchen sink clog, and they cleared the clog for us and said everything was fixed. Well a day later I came out to find my garage had flooded (creating a mess and ruining boxes) because the washer drain was now clogged. They hadn't actually fixed the issue with our kitchen sink, but just moved it to another part of our house. Unfortunately, I made this discovery during emergency hours. I spoke to the lady by the name of Stephanie, and it was not a pleasant experience. She could not even pretend to sympathize with us that our garage had flooded ruining boxes after we had paid a lot to have our kitchen sink fixed. It felt like we were being blamed because we didn't ask the repairmen to check and make sure that the clog didn't just move somewhere else. She said she was going to charge us the hefty fee to have someone come out after hours JUST for showing up, not including the work. She said it didn't feel like an emergency and that we should just wait until morning. Overall, her professionalism was severely lacking and had zero compassion, especially with the flooded garage and aftermath as well as the pandemic situation. The technicians came out the following morning and said we had a main line clog and it would need to be hydro jetted. However, they couldn't hydro jet it because we don't have a clean out. They were going to charge us $3000.00 on top of the already $300.00 they charged for inevitably not fixing the kitchen sink. We don't have this kind of money right now with the impact of the pandemic. We decided to call a different plumbing company that our family recommended. At this other plumbing company, the lady I spoke to showed compassion toward our family and bent over backwards to get someone out same day, actually earlier in the day than she initially quoted. They came out after hours without charging us an outrageous fee. These plumbers said exactly what we thought it was. The clog had moved to another part of the house. They snaked it from the vents in the roof and cleared the clog. They even hydro jetted it for us! They charged us less than $400.00. It wasn't a main line issue and we didn't need a clean out immediately. We saved $2700.00! Shame on Scott English Plumbing for their cold attitude and taking advantage of families during this difficult time! (See the photo of the flooding in garage). We had such a great experience and highly recommend this plumber! When I came home from work today we discovered we were having some plumbing issues. So bad that our neighbor's unit's roof was leaking. This was an emergency but it was already after hours and most places were closed, but fortunately we called Scott English plumbing since they're open 24/7 and Travis showed up to the rescue! He went through both of our units to asses where the issue was coming from, he even had to get up into the ceiling drywall which was not an easy task to examine the situation further. Ultimately he located the problem, fixed it, and set us up with a reputable contractor for the drywall repair. He was so friendly, knowledgeable, and went out of his way to help us and explain what was going on. We were/are so impressed! Thanks again Travis!! We will definitely be coming back for any future plumbing issues.

Wow, am I impressed. Stan just left my home and NO CHARGE.  Told me that my leaking Delta Kitchen faucet has a lifetime warranty and how to ask Delta for replacement parts and/or a new faucet.  He also checked my two toilets for leaks and said I'm good to go.  Gave me information on how to find the Delta model and to call Delta.  Once I receive the parts or a new faucet, to call Scott English Plumbing and Stan will install.  It is wonderful to find honest people who are not out to gouge you.  As I said, Wow  I will never call anyone else.

We had a disconnection of a main water pipe, late at night. We had to turn off the water inside and outside.  We called Scott English Plumbing early in the morning. Stephen Ratanapratum came out and diagnosed the problem. He repaired the pipe. Water was restored! Fantastic customer service!

That's the price?! Did not have any work done. Remodeled my bathroom and needed new toilet and faucet installed-$700?! Are you kiddding, the old toilet and faucet were gone and still didn't lower the price. Jimi!  That's my guy.  Man, he's as good as it gets.  Jimi came to my house at 7:00 on a Sunday, and he was humming a tune and had a spring in his step...diagnosed my leaking sink and told me he could fix it.  Then came the price...Sunday night, you say?  Dark, you say?  All this doesn't matter to Jimi...he quoted me a price that put a spring in MY step!!

Jimi knows his SHEE-OTT!!  He lopped off the bad valve, then he whipped out a blow torch, ((I kid you not)), then he proceeded to take care of a problem in 15 minutes that I'd screwed with for TWO WEEKENDS.

I have been waiting on this company for two separate days and they NEVER SHOW UP! I have twice scheduled a time for them to arrive (3-5 PM) and BOTH TIMES they didn't show up saying they were too busy! What's the point of scheduling a timeframe if they won't even bother showing up?! Unacceptable. Will never use them again.

This review is specifically in reference to Jimi. We have a slab leak and were fortunate enough to have Jimi come out for service. He was not only friendly and polite, but was clearly knowledgeable and efficient. Jimi explained the problem and was very good about filling us in on who was responsible for the different situation-as in, the homeowner vs. the association. This phase of the job had him working until 8:00 p.m., but he was still very thorough and careful. (He even swept the leaves out of our garage before leaving and made extra sure that we would keep our dog out of the garage/harm's way until the job is done!) We felt very confident in his work and greatly appreciated his caring and professional manner!

I just had the faucet installed by a reputable plumber.  $65 is what I was charged.  Again, so disappointed that I ever had this company out to my home.   I understand that every business needs to maximize profits, but you also need to uphold an honest reputation or eventually you will never grow past a certain point.  Scott English Plumbing needs to learn the importance of honesty and customer satisfaction.

After giving up on three other plumbing companies over the phone we called Scott English Plumbing for a supsected gas leak in our home.  Arthur arrived as scheduled.  He gave us a very detailed overview of how he would search for a leak.   Arthur was very thourough and explained what he was doing throughout the process.  He checked every gas connection, heaters, water heaters, pool heater and the stove.  He found the leak and had it repaired quickly.  The overall cost was as quoted at the beginning.  We could not be happier with the outcome knowing that our home is once again safe from a gas leak.  Arthur was absolutely excellent.  For all our plumbing needs in the future we will definently call Scott English Plumbing.

We had our garbage disposal break and Jimmy came out to give us an estimate. We have a very basic set up, without any difficult access so it appeared to be a straight forward job. We were quoted $700 to replace our garbage disposal, $600 of which would be the cost of parts. They only had one option of garbage disposal and said that was standard cost. Anyone with internet access and some sense would be wary about this quote. Now the kicker to this crazy encounter is when the guy asked to look at my husbands hands and asked got all your fingers? Yeah they look like they work and told him he should just replace it himself and save some cash. Lord almighty! Who knows what neck or back issues someone has that might limit you from taking on that kind of endeavor. Don't you want our business? I called another company and they were next level amazing. They charged $350 for the parts and labor, got it handled in under an hour and the best part was they fixed my sink head that I installed improperly without asking or charging me. Don't settle on a first quote and don't accept being haphazardly insulted, there are better options out there.

My kitchen sink had backed up and I called about 5pm Thursday evening and reached someone to speak with on my first call.  I explained my issue and told her it was not an emergency. She said someone would call Friday morning to schedule service to clear my drain.

By 7:30am I had a text asking if it was okay to call me at that time. So they called and said they could schedule someone to come out this morning. I received another text at 8:15am saying they had a technician who could be out in 45 minutes to 1 hour if that was convenient..

Sure enough they were on time, they even texted a picture and the name of the Tech, so I knew who to expect. Joshua showed up on-time, professional looking, and even put on booties before coming into my house and evaluating my problem. He explained my service options after inspecting my issue.  He started the job after explaining pricing and what to expect.

He was fast, efficient and worked very clean.  My drain was done before 10am for the price agreed upon with no after the fact salesmanship or trying to upsell any service.

I couldn't be any happier with the total experience of working with this company.  Every interaction was professional and they took care of my issue in a very timely manner.

Five stars out of 5 for sure.

Extortion is the name of Scott English Plumbing.  They are liars!  Mary-Ann was so nice on the phone when I tried to schedule a plumber to come fix our leaking shower on a Sunday.  She cheerfully warned me that there is a $250 service fee, which scared me for a second, but she explained it three different times saying that if the service ends up costing $225, it will still be $250.  To me, that means that it is $250 minimum and that amount gets applied to the total.  Well, Mike showed up and quoted me $560!  He had been here two weeks prior to fix the other bathroom that had a similar problem, albeit a different and more common faucet.  That service cost $215.  

As it turns out, the $250 is in addition to whatever it actually costs to fix something.  The $250 is just for him to show his face!

He very rudely walked out and told me to call someone else then.  He wouldn't even talk to me about what Mary-Ann had told me on the phone.  

Scott English Plumbing just wasted my time and left me with no resolution to the problem!  When I called Mary-Ann back, she changed her tune, incorrectly claiming that she never said the $250 would get applied to a service.  Once again, Scott English Plumbing is full of lying extortionists and I will never use them again, nor will I recommend them to anyone ever!

My Homeowner Association sent out Scott English Plumbing because I reported what I thought was a slab leak. I had wet carpet and a wet wall and figured that was what was wrong. It was on a holiday and a Scott English rep  named Keith called me almost immediately after I had reported it to the Association. I have always had great experiences with Scott English Plumbing and this one was no different. They sent Diego H. to my home, an extremely pleasant and kind young man who was very understanding of my situation. He diagnosed the problem as a broken pipe connection that was attached to the shower fixture, not a slab leak at all. He fixed it up and was on his way without much ado. I was happy with the work he did, his delightful personality and positive attitude. His compassion toward me, as I'd recently lost my husband, was so appreciated. I feel grateful Diego was sent out to me and I will ask for him again next time.  He's well qualified, has plenty of experience and was a delight to have in my home. He left everything clean and even brought in my Amazon packages from the porch. Thank you Diego and thanks again Scott English Plumbing.  Oh I should also mention, Krystal and Keith were both great on the phone too. Very friendly and efficient, both of them. All in all a good experience and the cost was very fair. Highly recommend.

Water heater went out. Called and they sent out a tech. arrived late, grant it it was a weekend. Tech looked at heater literally just looked and said we needed new one. Quoted 2400+ for replacement. I got a second opinion from another company, but to my surprise they actually worked on the water heater and FIXED it. Turns out I didnt need to buy a beams new one. Glad I didn't go with Scott English plumbing....

Unfortunately this company is either training their techs to replace rather than repair. Or this tech just didnt know anything about his job...

I cant recommend to anyone. But I will reccommend the other plumbing company I ended up using to everyone I can.

Update-

David, thanks for the concern just a few months to late. I called in to speak to you gentlemen directly when the incident happened and NO one cared or helped with the bogus fee I was charged, or explained to me why the tech didn't bother to attempt repair. Seems to me you are trying to save face on this review. Thanks anyway. Last 100 bucks you guys ever make of me an hopefully a few more potential clients turn away based on my experience.

Installed everything wrong in my kitchen and bathrooms. I had to have everything reinstalled by other plumbers. The plumber also slow to complete the jobs he did wrong! They charged me a huge amount to accomplish NOTHING - in fact, to force me to have to pay more to other plumbers to correct their incompetence. Gave me bad advice during my shower remodel, too. Bottom Line: Problem fixed successfully, friendly team, but took awhile for them to arrive and was more expensive than quoted.

Had a plumbing backup from our neighbor's kitchen sink into our shower (yum....carrots). Issue was fixed successfully and it did not take them long to finish (maybe 20 mins). The young woman on the phone was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Only giving 3 stars because we called at 8:48 pm and the serviceman did not arrive until approximately 11:15 pm, when they said he would arrive earlier. I do understand the time of day was inconvenient for everyone (and there's definitely grace given to the service tech since he was coming from another job) but it was tough waiting around with no information since the ETA we were provided was not quite accurate. Our plumber Steve was polite, professional and respectful - no complaints about him. We were quoted $175 over the phone and it ended up being $325. More expensive than we thought, but we're renters, so at least it gets passed on to our landlord : )

My back went out so I couldn't install my toilet back onthe wall. It's wall mounted with two screws, two washers and two cap covers. It doesn't weight too much but nonetheless, I couldn't lift it. All of my plumbing was already in the wall, all of the flush hardware was intact. I really just wanted my toilet remounted. I called in the morning around 8 and they sent two people out by 10. That was great. I'll give them a star for responsiveness.

It was all downhill from there. The two plumbers came in to check out my toilet. I asked them if they were familiar with and comfortable hanging wall mounted toilets. My response from them was that they have done nice commercial and residential toilets but not Home Depot ones, if that was what I was asking. My toilet is a duravit, nothing special but definitely not Home Depot either.

As I said, my plumbing was still intact. With a wall mounted toilet; the plumbing is behind the wall. These two plumbers said that my plumbing was not hooked up yet and that I didn't have any water lines coming into the toilet. I explained the logistics of a wall mounted toilet and they went outside for 15 minutes to gather a quote together for me.

After returning they wanted to look again to see what they were working with. One of them said ok, I have your price now, and proceeded to tell me that it would be ONE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND SEVENTY EIGHT DOLLARS ($1,278) to hang this toilet. I balked at them, I couldn't help it.

So then I told them that my contractor wanted 350 to rehang this toilet and I thought that was ridiculous in itself. The plumber suggested that I should have had my contractor do it then.

Whatever.

My boyfriend came and hung it for me in five minutes, it really wasn't a big deal. He had to pick up a wrench for a few bucks but it got done and Scott English can take my fictitious $1,278 and shove it up their asses.

I called the customer service line and explained the situation; suggesting that there must be something entirely wrong with their estimation software and he didn't really pay much notice. He said he'd pass his note along to his supervisor .... but I assume he probably lost his post it note before the end of the call.

Call a plumber that knows what they're looking at and doing, not Scott English unless of course you just like the way their fancy van looks parked in front of your home.

Awesome job by Tommy F. finding and clearing an area drain that was dead-ended underground. He threw every tool in his truck at it but in the end, it was his instinct, experience and persistence that solved the mystery. Expensive? About average for a fully insured and licensed plumbing contractor. But, SE Plumbing brings a lot of highly specialized equipment to the job; and that stuff isnt cheap. Plus you get Tommy!

They sent out old, beat up, and kinked equipment out to clear a standard Kitchen Sink clog, and couldn't even pull equipment off the truck to complete a simple task.....what a Pile !

This is 100% due to failure from ownership to provide his Team Quality equipment so he can maximize profit.....pure lack of honor and integrity.

Then when you call to speak with Scott English all you get is a unqualified call center who does not connect you to the company

This review is based on my pre-sales contact only, since I couldn't progress to the point of hiring them to do the work. I want to replace three toilets in the house, clean out the pipes, etc. They came out & did an estimate, and I thought their tech (Kevin) was great, and gave me really good recommendations. In reviewing multiple estimates, including other plumbers, handymen, Pacific Sales, etc., I had this company ranked #1. I did want to clarify a few things before hiring them -- exact model of Toto toilets, what if they found the flange height was wrong, and what if they found a significant obstruction in the pipe -- before giving the go order. I called the company and they said they'd have someone call me back. Nothing. I called back a few days later, and again they said they'd have someone call me back. Still nothing. I really wanted to hire them, but now I'm moving on.

No hot water for two days, all I needed was for them to fix the temperature, I had running water just not hot. Apparently, our HOA owes these people money, I was not aware of that, nor is that my fault. I was paying for it myself, and instead he stood there, glaring at me and yelling, that the HOA owes him money and he has problems too. I wasted the entire day when I could have been looking for a different plumber. Instead they strung me along and left me stranded. I can't believe how nasty he was to me; I felt like the only reason he came was to unleash his anger towards the HOA on me. I hope that when he's in a bad situation someone is kinder to him than he was to me.

Great experience! I had a water leak UNDER the sidewalk on my side of the meter (of course). Original plan was to get a city permit, cut the sidewalk, do the repairs, replace the sidewalk... all while being inspected by the city. Between the repairs and city fees it would have been really expensive. Scott called and personally guaranteed that the fix could be done for significantly less cost and would not involve removing any of the sidewalk. Shane came out and got the work done (plus two shut-off value replacements). Leak is fixed! I am happy - nothing negative about the experience. Will definitely use Scott English again.

Scott English is wonderful. My association has used them for years and I have also used them personally. I highly recommend them.  Damon, Kevin, and Brian, are all awesome, but.....Jimi the plumber rocks it!!!!!  You have to request him when you call.

I am the president of our HOA in Newport Coast.  Our community has a tree problem, i.e., the roots break and clog house sewer lines.  We had a particular problem recently because the clog was at a difficult location...under other utility lines and under the garage foundation.  In addition, we didn't want to cut the garage slab because it is post-tensioned.  Scott English Plumbing came out promptly to repair this extremely difficult situation.  They provided a written estimate (when many other plumbers were hesitant to even attempt the repairs), and made the necessary repairs in an efficient way. The foreman (Elliott Borboa) was experienced, knowledgeable and understanding.  He could not have done a better job.  Thank you Elliott!!         Bob Mulvihill

This was a not the typical plumbing job. A 3-inch sewer line under the house broke in three pieces due to earth settling. A 2-inch line from the kitchen attached to the 3-inch line also broke. This was a nightmare problem!  

Scott English took the time to diagnose the problem unlike two other plumbing companies we had out to inspect the sewer line leaks.

After tunneling 12 feet under the house they fixed the breaks that should allow further settling.

Tyler and his supervisor Robert kept us informed of progress and listened to my concerns. This was not an inexpensive repair but we felt it was worth the expense.

I would advise anyone to be sure to call Scott English Plumbing for a quote on any problem you have.

Shawn and Rafale came out and installed a new refrigerator water valve for the ice maker. The old one was an old gate valve, which is a 1/4 turn, and they installed a new box great job.

I have been using Scott English for our homes for at least the the last 8 years. I've tried to stay loyal, but our last experience was pretty bad.
While the plumber was courteous, it took him 2 day to figure out our leak. Yes days!!! I asked if I needed to call a leak detection company to which he responded that was what he was doing. But it turned out that he was doing some sort of visual up down leak search. I had to ask if he would call his supervisor to come help. He arrived and they found the leak within 15 minutes with actual leak detection equipment.
I needed our bill to be itemized for our insurance so they could pay us and to date I still can't get an itemized invoice. They say they put everything together and can't separate it. I've called many times and they refer my call to the actual plumber to try and figure it out with me. I only needed this itemization for 1  of the 3 invoices I received for this job and have yet to receive it.
So frustrating and not how loyal customers should be treated in my opinion. I will call again to try and get an itemized invoice (from November!!!) and update of customer service/accounting is any help.

Giving them extra stars for how quick they normally are compared to other plumbers on getting someone over.

However, removing stars because I've had to have them come over 3 times or so for the same issue in the last six months and even more in the last year.   I understand pipes are old but I feel like something must not be getting done thoroughly enough.   And of course at 275 bucks a pop for that, it isn't cheap.  Also, I had to have them just fix the drain in the kitchen sink of my rental property.   Over 500 bucks for that.  

So you can absolutely expect to be charged a high amount with this plumbing company.

I have the idea that their plumbers are kind of contracters in a way and the higher they charge the bigger their cut after Scott English gets theirs.   So I think that is driving up prices compared to other companies. I could be wrong though.

Scott English plumbing sent a technician the same morning that I called. He arrived on time and was very professional... he did a thorough examination of my clog helped me take care of the issue and then checked for other problems underneath my sink and outside by the clean out. I would highly recommend using them as I will again in the future if it becomes necessary.

I had a slow draining bathroom sink for several months. I used liquid plumber to no avail, so I finally gave in called a plumber. I was very impressed with this plumbing service. William, the plumber who responded to my house, was extremely professional and efficient. He was in and out of my house in a flash and it has drained so quickly ever since. I wish I called sooner, because William made the whole thing so quick and painless. Fair prices and professional response.

I highly recommend this company. Our tankless water heater went out ( a week before Christmas... eyeroll) and Nate came to the rescue. Came back the next day and fixed an additional leak we had as well as the new water heater. I've had them come before and they're always professional and courteous. Ask for Nate!

I will never use them in my home again...
I had called Scott English Plumbing for a problem back in June 2013...they not only that did not fix the problem, but still charged us $225 (which is why we thought that the leaky water valve was fixed). It turned out that they had put Teflon tape around the problem water valve... and then recently when this same water valve created a bigger problem, they pretty much turned and said that you see they were just giving us a consultation. We had no idea that supposedly we were being given only a consult. Asking at other places, the most expensive consultation fee was $100. I will never use Scott English Plumbing in my home ever again!!!!

I called Scott English Plumbing to have a toilet fixed and they were able to come out the same day.  They obtained the parts for the vacuum assisted toilet and got our office back in business quickly and reasonably inexpensive.  Greg was professional and did good quality work.

I live in Laguna Niguel and while installing new toilets on a sat. we saw roots the size of nickels protruding up thru the openings and needed a plumber quick, to snake the toilets and the main. We called Scott English Plumbing and James came out within 30 mins. He was professional, informative  and got the job done quickly. The rate was  competitive yet lower than quoted by others listed on YELP.I will use and  recommend this company in the future.

Called with an emergency need at my in-laws place (they're in their 90s) at 4:45 on a Friday. Gave my information and they said they'd try to get someone there by 6:00. At 5:45 got a call from the dispatch center saying that they were on the way, would arrive in 30-45 minutes. Tommy got there in 25 minutes, looked and the situation and immediately popped into action. One hour and 5 minutes later he was done.... BOOM! Excellent communication, service and friendly people every step of the way. If I could give 10 stars I would. Kudos to Team English Plumbing.

We had a situation in our community recently with two water pumps leaking.  Since the pandemic, it's been increasingly harder to get responsive contractors to service our needs. Fortunately we turned to Scott English. Within hours, we were contacted by a technician, Tyler, who maintained contact throughout the entire scheduling process.  When Tyler arrived, he explained in detail the description of the problem, solutions and options, and the cost. It was a thoroughly professional experience from start to finish. I think the future looks very bright for Scott English becoming our go to company for our plumbing needs. I somehow was linked to this firm regarding what I perceived as a plumbing problem. I was told someone would come out and give me a FREE estimate. Brian came and it seems my problem was a guest bathroom that I hardly used was running only cold water. It turns out I was turning the handle the wrong way and I did indeed have hot water. My fault and my foolishness for not exploring further, however that still does not validate a charge of 150 dollars. Yes, you heard me correctly 150 dollars for telling me I goofed. Now in the spirit of Christmas and all wouldn't you think we would both have a laugh and shrug it off as a miscue gone awry. I realize a call was made and time is money,but,really 150 dollars for nothing. Lord help us all from gougers.At this time of the year good will towards all means nothing but greed somehow pervades.

After searching on yelp for plumbing services to address water leaking from the washing machine drain, Scott English was selected for the service due to their highly competitive rates for drain service, same day availability and the excellent initial experience on the phone with Natalie.  Natalie provided a clear explanation of the service, availability, rate and next steps.  She was professional, courteous and friendly.  While a 3 hour timeframe was given, the plumbing technicians arrived in about an hour.  Ulises Cardenas and his apprentice, Moris, provided excellent service.  As a homeowner who prefers to learn the various trades involved with home maintenance, Ulises addressed all my questions with the drain issue from root causing the issue through to the fix needed.  Ulises offered several services and a recommended course of action while being respectful to the homeowner's priorities and preferences.  Overall, Ulises and Moris were calm, patient, professional and open to collaborating on a plan of action on the drain service and the subsequent camera inspection to confirm the blockage was successfully cleared.  Beyond simply having the required skills to perform the service needed, the quality of the interaction with a homeowner is important and for that reason, Scott English is an easy recommendation for future plumbing needs.

Brett Forguson saved me $8,990!!
His thorough inspection of my water heater lead him to correctly diagnose a separate issue with my electric/hydraulic furnace, which another vendor inspected the day prior and said it was broke and gave me a bid to replace it for $8,990.  Brett fixed my water heater and saved my furnace and thousands of dollars.  Thank you Brett for really knowing your trade.  I recommend Brett to anyone who wants quality service by a true professional.  Next time I need a plumber, I'm asking for Brett.

The absolute worst experience and a complete nightmare. They came out to fix my heater and they ended up breaking it!! I'm living in a house that's 60 degrees and they don't even care. When they break a customer's heating system you would expect a company to prioritize that customer. Not only that, they put a hole in my wall from the work they did. I called time after time to get an expert to my house. They don't know what they are doing. Go with another company. My experience has been an absolute nightmare!

We had a Saturday emergency and Scott English wanted to charge us $210 just to asses the problem. We found another plumbing service to come out in 15 minutes and fix the problem for less half as much. Rip off with these guys in the case of emergency.

Avoid at all costs. Toilet was clogged and for some reason my call got contracted to this company when the original I called did not have a technician (which I was not told). Technician came out by the name of Kevin and augered (fancy name for a half baked snake) our toilet and said the toilet is busted. Charged me a high price to auger and the toilet clogged a few hours later anyway. Called someone else to check it out and placed a new toilet and the toilet is still clogged. So apparently the toilet is not the problem. New guy used a longer snake and was able to push the blockage out. All we needed was a proper snaking. Why didn't this guy just use a proper snake?

Incompetent technicians, wish I saw this yelp page before letting them even start work. Do yourself a favor and call someone else.

Called plumber out because I had no hot water pressure in my sink, he came out and says that I have full pressure and the sink is bad.

I spend $200 and buy a sink, and a few hours of my time, find out it still does not work.

Different plumber from another company comes out and says you have absolutely no water pressure.

Scott English plumber was absolutely dead wrong, and he must have checked the cold water valve. . .

We were very disappointed with Scott English Plumbing. When I placed the request for service, they sent somebody out that day, however, the price I was quoted was $446. This was a complete lie. The service tech told me the $446 would be applied to any repairs and/or costs associated with the repair.

We had a sprinkler pipe crack, which was easily accessible and their fix was to simply cap it off!
They did not replace any piping, but simply capped it off to stop the leak. That pipe is no longer functioning. By the time everything was said and done, 4 hours later, the bill totaled $696!! Never were we told there was going to be additional charges.

We called the next day to question this and voice our concern about this excessive charge, and a man named Mike answered the call. He stated that he would look into it and get back to us. Surprise, surprise, no return phone call or follow up was ever received. They simply did not care about overcharging us for this minor fix- if you can even call it that!

We will not recommend this company to anyone, especially since they over charge and have terrible customer service. Don't even deserve the 1 star on this review!

Had someone out to look at water issue downstair neighbor (condo). They came and traced issue to my pipes upstairs (neighbor let them in), found out they shut off my master bathroom water. After speaking with plumber he stated , I got busy and forgot to call and tell you. I asked if there was anything else I should know? Nope- sorry. Then went to do laundry and no water, hot or cold. Per plumber, try hot water, we didn't touch that line only shut off cold, that piping is up in wall apparently. Well DUH!

Called Scott English for some help in relocating some gas line for a stove, the tech named Victor showed up and saw what needed to done, showed up the next morning and took care of the problem, Victor was very nice and very professional in his work. The job was well done and I was very happy with the work he had done. After calling several plumbers, who either could not make it the same day or asked for a $350 minimum emergency charge, I was directed to call Scott English Plumbing.  Scott English Plumbing had two professional plumbers at my door in about an hour and my bathroom backup problem was fixed in no time at all.  They were courteous, professional, and considerate.  A thank you goes out to Emergency Response Plumbers who couldn't help that day, but referred me to Scott English Plumbing and to the terrific response, service and fair pricing I received from Scott English Plumbing!

We had a clogged kitchen sink drain and we called Scott English Plumbing to inquire about their 49$ drain clearing. They responded right away and sent a plumber that after, which was appreciated. When the plumber arrived he assessed the situation and attempted to clear the drain. I have a 25 foot drain cleaner and told him that I tried it and it didn't work. He proceeded to use his 25 Foot cleaner and surprise it didn't work. Asked him to try a 75 or 100 foot cleaner but said that he didn't have it in his truck.
During the entire process he was trying to sell us a hydro blast pipe cleaning procedure which was $600. We just needed our sink unclogged at that moment and said maybe down the line for the hydro blast.
Worst of all, he charged us the $49 and did absolutely nothing.  Will not use them for any service in the future.
Had another plumber come out the next day and cleared the drain in less than 20 minutes.

I originally called on Sunday due to my kitchen sink being backed up l. I didn't get a call back until the next day. they scheduled of a technician to come out that following Friday between 10 and 2. (5 days with a clogged sink)

The Friday the technician never showed for the window and no one called me until 630 that night (4.5 hours after the window) and informed me a technician was on his way. When I got home that evening after the technician was supposed to arrive, the sink was still clogged and no one contacted me for an update. Then after I called again the next morning and was assured someone would reach out with an update, did not receive a call.

My kitchen sink has been backed up for over 6 days now and maybe this bad review will get someone to my house ASAP but I doubt it since there has been a lack of communication from the Scott English Team.

Time to find a new plumber.

Seriously disappointed after seeing so many good reviews, I'd hope I would have gotten the same experience as other people. We had a clog in our drains that led to my 2 bathrooms, they came in on Tuesday February 16.2021 and charge $250 just for coming out. Anyways guy put the snake down and barely unclogged, maybe he wasn't too comfortable in putting the snake further down. Today February 18 2021 the clog happens again and they said they would have to charge us $239 as a discount to come out LOL UM we just spent 250 for a service that lasted almost 2 days and they want to charge us again. I'd hope as a company they would at least come out as a courtesy since they obviously did not do the job correctly and that was definitely not worth $250. We just rented a snake at Home Depot for $50 and did it ourselves. Save money people! Do it yourself! :) also maybe because we are young people they took advantage of us smh.

Nick Davis and Fransisco to the rescue!
I had 3 previous plumbers in and each thought they had found the leak from the shower. (but they didn't ) At my wits end, I was looking not just for plumbing but for outstanding leak detection.  From the first call with Laurie , I felt as if I was in the right place.  Booked an assessment appointment and enter Nick Davis and Fransisco. These two technicians were efficient, knowledgeable , on task and did everything from detect not only a compromised shower but a toilet that quietly sat and was identified as the real culprit. They fixed everything.  Efficiently. Professionally. Timely.  It was absolutely a pleasure to have them working at my residence.
The cost was fair and thoroughly explained.
Want it fixed correctly the first time?  Call Scott English Plumbing and request Nick Davis.  Fransisco was new to the company but he's going to be someone that will be an asset just as Nick is.
PS.  I threw all my other door hanger plumbing concerns in the trash. I have Scott English Plumbing in my contacts now...on speed dial!  Thanks , Guys.

My sink stopped up and I needed a plumber right away. Service technician Eddie H. was here within the hour and cleared my drain quickly. Professional, great service, and cared about keeping my home clean and property undamaged. Upfront pricing before job commenced was comparable with other plumbers. Would recommend!

UPDATE: Two years ago, this company cleared a clog in our main drain. They ran a camera and identified two areas where there were root intrusions. They said that putting in a liner would be a permanent solution that would keep the roots out of the line. We paid for them to install a liner. One year later, there was another blockage because they hadn't lined one of the places where there was an intrusion. One year later, we had another clog because they hadn't lined the other part of the pipe with roots! They ran a liner BETWEEN the two places where there were problems. We spent over $20 grand on their permanent solutions and now they want $1200 every year/every other year or so to hydrojet the roots that keep regrowing. The kicker is that since they installed a liner, it HAS to be hydrojetted instead of snaked. We could have just paid to get it snaked annually but now we have to pay for a premium service for basic maintenance. There is a lot more to be said, but the bottom line is that this company is not trustworthy. I have reached out to the company regarding this issue and they have not responded.

This company doesn't deserve one star. I will tell you that plumbers charge around $75 or $80 an hour but this one won't give you a quote until they get out to your house.  I took a vacation day today but thought if I could get a plumber out to hook up my faucet and garbage disposal at a reasonable price and time frame that would be great. I was told they would come out between 10 a.m. and noon. He ultimately showed up at 1 p.m. . Pulled out his little iPad to give me a quote to put in brand new garbage disposal (that I had)and my old faucet and gave me a quote of $800, yes Eight Hundred Dollars!!!  My husband who also took the day off from work heard the $800 and came in the house. This guy confirmed with my husband what they were charging for $800. My husband is a superintendent for a major Builder so we know trades. I would never wait around for this company to be told $800 for a job that should be no more than $200. This company is a total joke and I would never ever give them any time of my day and neither should you.

Our water bill went from about $100 to $400 this past month, and I immediately contacted IRWD to make sure it wasn't a mistake. Long story short, our house had a leak and needed to be detected and fixed as the water meter was continuing to rise. I won't go into the gory details, but it wasn't anything in our house (not the toilets, sinks, shower, etc.). Once we identified where to start, which was at the main water valve in our garage, Diego and Jose from SEP arrived to save the day. Not only do they know what they're doing, they are friendly, professional, and show up in face masks with gloves ready to go. They replaced the water valve and regulator to locate the leak, which happened to be underground in common plant area just outside garage. They dug and dug, rerouted the pipeline, went through drywall, carefully sealed all the pipes, refilled the hole, and cleaned up the area thoroughly. With all the craziness going on in our world right now, we could have done without this water leak which set us back $$. Price was fair and reasonable, considering the quality of work and time to do it. Thank goodness SEP have people like Diego and Jose. Both of them took some stress off my family and me, and I am grateful and will refer them to anybody who's looking for a positive plumbing experience!

Jimi M. and Jimmy G. came to help with low water pressure both in my kitchen and in my guest bathroom.  They were on-time, efficient, and worked very cleanly.  As well, they happily answered all my questions and concerns and took the time to educate me - even letting me take pictures to help me understand what was being done and to document the parts of my system that were inside the faucets/walls.  And now my water pressure is back to normal and I have a usable kitchen and bathroom again!  Jimi M. even took the time to explain how the common plumbing and boiler are set up in the condo complex and called a boiler professional to discuss possible (better) long-term solutions.  I sincerely appreciate their professional work and their patient explanations.  Thank you!

In May, 2019 I needed drain service.  I wasn't sure exactly what the issue was.  I was extremely skeptical about going into something that could be over-the-top in expense and being so naïve about it.  I did some research that included talking to other plumbers I encountered while was out doing business,

I decided to call SEP.  The experience was first class from the call to completion.  Including clean up.  And the cost WAS VERY REASONABLE.  Nate was forthcoming with clear information every step of the process and made it clear what was going to be done and the cost.  No mysteries or surprises along the way.

Helpful hints.  Ask questions until you understand what is going on...

Very expensive!!! Be sure to get other quotes if they seem high. Used them to install 2 bathroom water faucets and change a water supply valve at my condo in Irvine. Work was done satisfactorily and they showed up quick. That said they charged over $600 labor for this simple task and that does not include the faucets. I definitely felt like they over charged and would not have used them at all except that I did not have the luxury of time.

Had Nate come out to hydrojet our landscaping  drain lines
In back yard and in front of house. He knew his stuff and did a fine job. I recommend you give them a try in this area of plumbing. They have the proper equipment
also.

Be aware of this company, it Is a total scam. They advertised drain clearing for $49.99.  I called, and spoke to the receptionist and told her exactly what my issue was -  a slowly draining upstairs shower. I confirmed the price and she assured me that was correct. Brian came out right away and assessed the situation and said it would not be a problem. He immediately quoted me $150.00 for the job. I asked him why, when I had confirmed the cost he proceeded to tell me the receptionist does not know what she is talking about. They always charge $150.00 for this work. As I escorted him out of my home I suggested they train their phone people. His last statement to me is because it did not have a a drain plug outside. I had to laugh, and I asked him how he knew as he never even looked.

Had Scott English Plumbing out today for a gas leak Jimi Moore and his asst. Jimmy we're very nice and fixed the leak quickly very courteous. Have used Scott English before Highly Recommend and reasonably priced.

Got a free estimate for a job but then the guy said I had to pay him $275 bc he used a camera. He kept insisting but when I pointed out that I'd gotten other estimates and nobody charged me to use a camera, he be and sheepish and backed off. Shady AF

On Thursday, April 27, 2023 I called Scott English plumbing because my toilet bowl was not filling up. I wasn't too sure on who to call but I remembered that I saw one day a van parked outside of my complex that said Scott English plumbing. Luckily I saved the number and luckily I looked it up on Yelp. I found it was close to the house. I made my appointment for someone to come out and look at the toilet. Brian was the technician that came out that Thursday night after examining the toilet and noticing that our pump was broken and old. Brian was so informative and professional. He gave us great recommendations and I decided to just replace the whole toilet. Instead of just putting a bandaid on the matter. He made us an appointment to get the toilet replaced, they called us to let us know ahead of time that a technician was on the way. Brian was the one whom came to do the job. He was fast, friendly and professional too. We are so great full for someone so eager to take care of a customers like Brian did. I definitely will remember Scott English Plumbing when I need any other service in the future. Thanks Brian and Timothy for doing what you to to help your customers.

When we had a plumbing concern Scott English Plumbing responded very promptly and professionally. Bob and one other plumber came out ASAP and did an excellent job. They were very professional. We were mistaken with what the issue was. Bob kindly explained to us what was going on and then promptly fixed it. It was not the easiest job as we have flights of stairs that they had to walk back and forth on. We were very pleased with their customer service skills and ability to fix the issue so quickly. Scott English has been handling our plumbing issues for our condo for a few years and we have nothing but good things to say about them.  The HOA is responsible for walls in, and they work for the HOA also so they can handle those issues as well.  I was happy to learn that the HOA will be responsible this time!

I was referred to Scott English by another contractor that was not equipped to solve my landscape drainage issue. I got a call in the morning and they advised Andrew was on his way to the house. He was very polite and jumped on the job right away. The job was a clean out of the entire run of landscape plumbing from the backyard to the street. He used a small hydro-jet as well as a cable snake. As it turned out, the roots had infested the pipe very badly and he had to tear out a bunch of plants and rip out a 15 foot length of pipe. Andrew was very confident and never seemed to get rattled that the job was going to be a problem. He cleaned up after the job was finished and was very professional. I would strongly recommend this company.

Scott English Plumbing is the.BEST BECAUSE of Travis Flanders! I have worked with Travis now 3 times and he is absolutely the best guy ever! He's prompt, polite and sweet and totally dedicated to your job:  He works non-stop to be completely accommodating to your needs and goes BETOND to finish the job with steadfast detail and will not recommend further work just to make you spend more money. Plumbing for the rich! I was quoted over $1200 to get VALVES changed. I went with an independent plumber that our family friend uses, and $260 later all my water valves are changed and working fine. Beware of HIGH prices.

I read the posts of other Yelpers and I agree the office staff was extremely rude, the guy setting my appointment was chastising me for not calling him sooner. I felt like I was 5 and being scolded by my parents! Rude...I would never have chosen this company based on the reviews alone, but as the others stated this company works with the HOA and we have no choice being a member of HOA. The plumber was extremely nice, but I felt like he had the interest of the HOA in mind and not the homeowner. They decide who pays for the plumbing issue, the homeowner or the HOA and guess who paid.....the homeowner.

Replaced a toilet and set it 4 inches from the wall so the front of the seat set inches out as well (obviously) so the bathroom door could only be opened at a 45 degree angle. When called to come back and correct it they said we would have to pay for ANOTHER new toilet. It was a nightmare.  After 4 hours of arguing my husband went with the plumber to return the first toilet (which they argued hd wouldn't do) and paid the $150 difference on a new toilet that fit. So they wasted 6 addition hours of their time and 10 hours of our time to make $150 more. Doing the right thing would have saved them a ton of money and this bad review.

I live in a building that only allows for us to use one plumbing company, Scott English Plumbing. My kitchen sink was backed up and only needed to be snaked. I was told that a plumber would arive between 2:30-5. No problem, then recieved a call at 4:30 stating that it'd be longer than expected, over an hour before he'd arrive. At that point I just rescheduled for next day. Now I am told they would be here between 12-2:230. Then I recieved a call from dispatch at 2pm that they were in route and would be here within 1 hour. Ok, again, no problem. I understand that it could be busy, its a friday, and traffic. So skip forward, its now 330. So i decide to call an see whats the ETA. The girl tells me that there tech is on site. Im confussed, why no call? I decide to go down to see whats the hold up, only to find the technician chillin on the fancy chairs in the lobby on his ipad. I asked how long he's been here, of course only a few mins. I think he was just taking a break. I realize that my emergency isnt his urgency. But it should be. I waited around 2 days, to catch this dude, practically feet up on coffee table just lounging. Whatever, let homie check what needed to be done. He goes to get tools, takes 15 mins to return. Took prob 5 mins to fix problem, why tf does it take a lifetime to get ur stuff?  If I had a choice I would never use this company. Its not the first time they've wasted my time. Once they came to fix my bathroom sink, come back a few hours later and the entire bathroom was nearly ripped apart. Dirty tools all up an down my apartment hallway, and bathroon vanity completely removed and sitting in hallway. Took them a few days to fix that problem and left behind a huge mess. Ok done venting, if you can, definately use a different company.

After calling Scott English Plumbing, I received a call back in 30 mins. They sent a plumber (Nate) within 30 mins. Awesome!  I know that's not normal, but it's still awesome. Nate did a fantastic job!  Very professional and courteous. Prices were reasonable and worth it. I would definitely call them back; and ask for Nate.

Never use & will not use. The guy who was dispatched to my place wanted $240 to change wax seal on toilet. Wax seal is only $10. When I refused the price, he hung up on me. Super rude!

I've dealt with Scott English twice now as our HOA uses them for most work.
Each time, they've been easy to deal with, have arrived on-time (near the top-end of the scheduled window), and have completed the work promptly -- under the estimated time in both cases.

Most recently, Luke helped us out and was great to deal with.  Friendly, professional, and very quick.  10/10

Such a great company, showed up on time, professional. Didn't overcharge me. Went above and beyond. The plumber Brian who has only been working with the company for 3 months was so helpful and courteous. I will gladly recommend this company. They will be my exclusive plumbers I go to from now on. I had a plumbing emergency at around 8:30pm. I called a bunch of company's but they gave me the run around. This company is honest, reliable and very affordable.

!!!TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!
My down stairs neighbor called me with a reported leak potentially coming from my unit. I was not home and to be neighborly I let my neighbor go in my unit with the plumber to survey the area. I received a text message from the plumber stating he needed to knock out my drywall to investigate. I immediately called the plumber and advised him NOT TO DO ANYTHING until I had personally spoken to my HOA and was present - the next morning - less than 24 hrs. To my shock and surprise when I arrived home from work that evening there was holes in my wall - WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION!  Scott English Plumbing made the decision to undermine my request and physically alter my home when i clearly said not to. Its a very violating feeling when you come home to walls in your home. I then spoke with Kevin Miller, the owner of Scott English Plumbing to explain the situation. He dismissed my concerns and frustrations and suggested that we would not be having this conversation if the HOA was responsible for damage/repairs. I then explained that he was incorrect and that the issue was his employee dismissing my request and physically altering my home with out authorization. Kevin was extremely rude and condescending to me. He did not take responsibility on behalf of his company which is all that was looking for. Once I mentioned I was going take this to yelp to warn other consumers - he changed his tune - too late. PS...They quoted $500 for the repair and $200 for an inspection fee (which I didn't request) I shopped 2 other plumbers who stated the parts for repair were less than $10. Needless to say I paid a wonderful & professional plumber who respected myself and my home MUCH LESS for the repairs.

These guys were able to unclog a shower where the previous plumber's recommended Jack hammering the shower. They found a significant leak in another bathroom and were able to get that fixed and running. So far it's been perfect!

I recently needed a plumber and I called Scott English Plumbing.  The technician who responded to my call was a gentleman named Rafael, and he was accompanied by Carlos.  Rafael and Carlos were so professional!  They both listened attentively as I explained what my problem was.  Rafael was so helpful, and immediately allayed my fears.  

I was very impressed with both Rafael and Carlos, and I plan to ask for them again if I have a future plumbing need.

I am extremely pleased with the service provided today by Nate Romero from Scott English Plumbing.  Nate responded within an hour to an urgent call I made to his office requesting a quick assessment and estimate for two micro leaks in my plumbing that was recently repaired, but had gone undetected by other plumbers. After assessing the newly discovered leak situation Nate provided me with a free written estimate detailing multiple repair options.  I scheduled the repair which had to be timed in conjunction with ongoing restoration schedules related to the previous leak.  Nate and his office were very flexible when the repair had to be rescheduled several times. When the scheduling finally got locked in, Nate arrived as scheduled and got right to work on two subtle micro leaks in my very old corroded plumbing that required a reroute from copper to PEX. After encountering more complications due to the corrosion, he quickly altered his repair strategy without skipping a beat, and still finished the job in less time than we expected. When he finished the repairs it just looked great ... if you could even say that about plumbing. And of course everything worked fine with no need for rework and no sign of a leak.  Nate certainly went the extra mile to address the potential for future leaks in a badly corroded manifold of old copper plumbing.  He was very thorough and meticulous with the repair and clean-up.  I never got a feeling that he was rushing or compromising quality for the queue, and when he was completed, I felt very confident that the leak was permanently fixed.  Nate is a great asset to the 'Scott English Plumbing' company and will certainly contribute to furthering the company's excellent reputation. Great work Nate, and kudos to Scott English Plumbing for knowing how to select and keep a great employee!
