My Name is Robert Ryan and I am the owner of Ryan Electric. I have been in the electrical business for over 30 years and I really am known as the Honest Electrican of Orange County. In 1999 I started my own business and this is why. I was encouraged to go into business for myself, because I was tired of seeing customers being overcharged for jobs that I could save them hundreds and even thousands of dollars on. I feel the customer should always have all options available to them. This honest way of thinking is why my business has such overwhelming customer loyalty. Getting solar panels installed and had Ryan Electric look at our main panel. He was prompt in my request for an appt and he came by my house the next day. He was on time, gave me great advice, and gave me a competitive quote for a main panel upgrade. I didn't end up hiring him for the job because the solar company gave me a big discount for the upgrade but I will definitely hire Ryan Electric for any future electrical jobs ie adding outlets. Had my old Zinsco breaker panel upgraded to a new Semens 200amps. Everything from start to finish went smooth. Pricing was very competitive and service was attentive. I especially liked that they finished up the Stucco work after all permits have been approved which saved time hunting for someone to finish the job, as well as pull all permits and fees for the city. Robert was easy to work with and took care of this project as if I could ask for anything more.

I was looking for an electrician for quite some time even via Yelp, and after asking my chiropractor I got a reference for Ryan Electric. I normally check the Yelp reviews to see what kind of complaints are being made against the business and then choose accordingly. Ryan had all great reviews. I needed to get a 200 amp upgrade for the house with all the electrical devices running. The team came in an quickly installed the panel, fixed our kitchen/dining outlets, and scheduled certification for the panel by the city. I think this was an awesome seamless experience. This was the second time I've used Ryan electric. I called for what we thought was a single issue but once the troubleshooting started we found several problems, all of which Mr. Ryan was able to fix without charging an arm and a leg. I love that he was able to explain each step in the troubleshooting process. If I need more work done, Ryan Electric will once again be my first call.

Robert has done many electrical projects for me; amongst many including a doorbell transformer replacement, a whole home surge protector installation, and troubleshooting some outlet trouble. Mr. Ryan installed a Tesla wall connector for me at an extremely good price ($300) which was by far the best quote that I received. The quotes went as high as $800. Mr. Ryan installed a 60 amp breaker and ran #6 wire to the wall connector. I know it was installed correctly because my Tesla is charging at 45 miles an hour. I highly recommend him if you're considering a Tesla wall connector or a 240V outlet to charge your electric vehicle. His office also provided a description of the work done -- important if you need to provide this documentation in order to receive the EV Charging Station rebate from the AQMD (aqmd.gov/home/programs/c…)

Quick professional response. I made a mistake by looking at the wrong breaker, which he found and corrected. I was impressed by how quickly they responded to a non-emergency call, and appreciated the extra effort he made in returning the fridge to its previous position. Robert has exceptional knowledge and expertise in electrical repairs and installation.
He was amazingly patient as we decided on the height we wanted for our fan. We went back and forth not sure which way to go. He measured and showed us where the bottom of the fan would end up with the two options available, giving us time to make the best decision and it ended up perfectly placed. There were a couple of challenges that I feel his experience served us well, he had alternate solutions and made it come together beautifully. Robert is very pleasant to be around, friendly yet definitely hard-working, you feel that you have someone that knows his business inside and out, extremely competent. Originally we were scheduled to have the electrician come by to see what's wrong with our bathroom and closet lights couple weeks out. Due to the positive reviews (especially how there were so many reviews about their honesty), we decided to wait. Then much to our surprise, the electrician was able to arrive earlier than the scheduled date! We were ecstatic! And the electrician was able to solve the issue the same day!
We finally have light in our master bathroom and closet! Would totally hire Ryan Electric again for any future electrical issues!

Other reviews are spot on - that is why he is in high demand. Friendly, courteous, and great work - I could not have asked for a better job in installing a Tesla charging station. Was not an easy job either - fuse box is a long way from the garage. Would hire Ryan Electric in a second for any other work.
Robert was really helpful. He trouble shooted my problem via yelp and I was able to save some money on a visit!
Thank you Ryan Electric for helping us get our power back on and safely! We had a whole panel replaced and two ground wires added since our townhome wasn't grounded at all. Highly recommend Ryan Electric. Have been shopping around for a reliable and reasonably priced electrician to upgrade the vintage 1959 electrical panel that was only able to receive 100 amps. Modern homes easily use more than 100 amps. In addition, the 2016 added electrical subpanel with AC, microwave, furnace fan, and garage all on one 50 amp caused the circuit breaker to trip repeatedly. Ryan Electric gave us a quote, which we accepted. They advised us to call SCE to have work approved and meter unlocked prior to the appointment date. Work began about 2.5 weeks later and was completed in about one day except for stucco patch having to wait until the city inspector signed off on the upgrade. SCE came a few days later and locked up the meter. In addition, SCE changed out the roof power connections to SCE-approved connectors at no cost. It took a total of 7 days from start of demolition to SCE locking up the meter. Actual work was completed mostly in 8 hours. During the entire process, Ryan Electric was responsive to emails, texts, and calls. They handled pulling the permit and scheduling for post work. Outside of the initial contact with SCE to approve upgrade and unlocking meter, we really had nothing else to do. Ryan Electric does a great job of cleaning up their job site leaving it better than it was. I'd hire Ryan Electric again without any reservations.

My circuit breaker was shutting off my AC on the Sunday of Labor Day and it was raging hot. Ryan came out within an hour and got my house up and running. Super nice guy and will be my electrician for life.
Ryan Electric is providing great service. Years ago, they did great job to install 240V outlet. Because of wonderful job at the time, I did not hesitate to ask Ryan Electric for installing new light fixtures x3 this time. Robert, the owner, provided amazing services! All I can say is he is the BEST. He knew exactly what the problem was when I sent him a pic of my circuit breaker. He went right in and solved the problem in minutes. He didnt want to receive any compensation for such an easy task but we insisted and paid him anyway. Thanks Ryan. Your a life saver.

Ryan Electric is Excellent! I had a partial outage that needed troubleshooting. Critical parts of the house needed power on due to working from home. I called other electricians who didn't respond. Fate would have it that Robert answered my call. He immediately came over to troubleshoot.
He showed up quickly with all of the protocols (masks, distance, etc...) and his bag of tools. I will say this guy knows his business. I have an older home with a questionable wiring scheme from the 60's and he methodically and tenaciously went through the house to find the issue. He communicated everything and the different steps and what to look for.
It took quite some effort but the genius tracked the culprit down. He also replaced various outlets with proper modern ones. He made recommendations for upgrades and he'll be doing those in the near future.
Such a great electrician and a great guy. He will be back for future work for sure. Nice having an honest, good electrician that I could depend on.

Their website states that all phone calls are answered by a live person however, both my calls and messages were left unanswered. I initially called on 11/06/19 then on 11/14/19 and left messages to inquire and possibly get a quote for a commercial electrical job. It is now 11/15/19 1:37pm, almost 24 hours from my call yesterday at 2:50pm. It would be nice to receive a call back to just let me know they can't do the project.

I called and left a voice mail to get a quote for an electrical panel upgrade and I received a response from Kris, the office manager, within 24 hours. Within two days from that phone call, the owner, Robert, came out and inspected my electrical panel to give me a proper an accurate estimate. From there on out, it was smooth sailing as Robert and his team took care of everything, including city permits! Robert's pricing was reasonable, his responses were timely, and his services were professional and thorough. They recently upgraded our old 100 amp panel to a new 200 amp panel, and we're very happy with the results. Robert and Thad are expert electricians. They were careful to make sure all of the work was up to code and to the satisfaction of Edison. The installation was completed in one day. They cleaned up everything and made sure the stucco repair was completed asap after passing inspection.

I just want to thank Kris for helping me out with my wall outlet not working. I came home and notice that my tv in the living room is not working. I check the outlet and found out that all the outlet in the living is dead. I look at my circuit breaker and non of it is trip to off. I called multiple electrician company and to see how much they charge to see what's wrong with my panel. Thank god I came across RYAN ELECTRIC and the nice lady who help me name kris said if I have any GFCI outlet and to check and to reset it. I can't say enough good things about Ryan Electric. I'm a repeat customer. I had them out a couple of years ago to install ceiling fans in my bedrooms which required running power for the fans first. This year I decided I wanted one in my living room. I'm on the first floor of a 2-story condo so there is no access to the area above my ceiling. They did an amazing job - again! They kept the holes they needed to cut to a minimum & although it was a challenge they got the job done staying positive & so personable thru it all.
My fan looks & works great! They cleaned up everything before leaving & made sure I knew how to work the remote.

We seriously hit the jackpot when we found them and I have recommended them to all of my friends, family, and our local community groups. If you are looking for experienced, friendly, nice, kind, knowledgeable, honest, top-notch electricians, your quest is over. Look no further! Ryan Electric is your company and James and Joey are your go-to professionals. These guys show up on time, keep the work area clean, and are just a joy to work with. We first found them when we searched and search for electricians that we trusted to install our beautiful (expensive) chandeliers from Restoration Hardware. They were the ones we were told to call by a trusted friend. And they did a fantastic job!!!! So they get all our electrical jobs from now on. They have installed electrical for sconces, put in recessed lighting throughout the house, reworded our alarm system and just today installed a whole house fan and attic fan. Quick and painless! Awesome job as expected. And don't tell them, but honestly they are too cheap!!!
As a homeowner, looking for services is almost always frustrating. It is rare to find folks as excellent as Ryan Electric. I needed a chandelier installed, and after calling a few places they turned to be not only the cheapest but most timely in everything they do. My appointment was for 8-9am on Saturday morning. The guys showed up at 8am on the dot! They were were so friendly it felt like hanging out with some old friends or family. Very professional and clean as they tarped down the work area and made sure every spot was left cleaner when they left it. Even though this was a single fixture to be installed, they took their time to get every detail right down to installing each and every individual bulb and shade. Overall I am beyond pleased with their work and would recommend to anybody looking for quality electrical service.

Awhile back, my wife and I were expecting our first one and we wanted the house baby ready. we noticed some weird sounds that we thought were electrical. Ryan, bless his heart, came over after finishing a job at the end of the day and helped looked around and track down the weird pop noise happening in our kitchen. Turned out, it was the recessed LED lights either cooling down or warming up. We were afraid it was something with our electrical sockets, but he assured us there was nothing funny happening with them. Sparks were shooting out of one of my outlets with nothing plugged into it in the middle of the night. I needed someone to come out quickly before it started a fire. Robert and Kris work hard to make sure their customers are satisfied and even return customers. We had a wide range of electrical issues that Robert solved in a day. He installed our security cameras, ran lines through the attic, mounted exterior lighting, and added and moved light switches for our convenience. Understandably they needed to make some holes in our drywall to get the camera wires past a firebeam, or whatever it's called heh. While I was surprised to find our how large they were, he had a friend of his patch it up a few days later free of charge. His price beat the competition, and he even offered to do future projects for us at a discount.

We recently upgraded our panel and WOW I am so impressed with Ryan Electric! I will def be using them for all my future electrical needs and recommending to all my friends and fam! First of all the communication with Kris in his front office was impeccable - she was extremely helpful over the phone when making my initial inquiry and she even answered on a SATURDAY! That is true professionalism right there. She had Robert the owner come out the very next morning and within 48 hours we had an estimate that we were happy to move forward with. We scheduled for the following week and he was right on time. He was very thorough in his work, including all city permits and inspections, PLUS repairing of the stucco after the work was done which many electricians in the area do not do. The upgrade took almost the whole day, and he was patient answering all of our questions throughout. Additionally he and his assistant took care to show me how everything worked after completion and included lot of little extras along the way that were not included in my original estimate. I had shopped around a lot before finding Ryan Electric and I can honestly say they offer much more affordable and competitive pricing than most in the area. They efficiently installed a dedicated 220 Plug for a new wall air conditioner and hen they found some other wires and an outside plug, not properly installed, they fixed them too as part of the job. I needed a 220v line run to power our new cook top and called around after checking several Yelp recommendations. Christine at Ryan Electric answered on the first ring and quickly put me in touch with one of the field teams (Joey and Mr. Anonymous). Within an hour they were at my home to eyeball the situation and agreed to return when I had some preliminary work completed. As promised after two weeks, they were back and efficiently ran the new line from the main panel, provided an accessible junction box (which the home builder conveniently left out) and very quickly had added new outlets for me, indicating your old ones looked sad) and wrapped everything up nice and neat. Cost was as expected and they kept me apprised of what issues they ran into and what or how the cost would be affected. I highly recommend Ryan Electric, if their other teams are as great as the ones that worked at my home, they are company you can trust and feel good about. Well done guys. I really appreciate all you did for us.
I called Ryan Electric for an estimate on a tankless water heater connection. Robert Ryan gave me an estimate (comparable or less than other estimates) and then proceeded to complete all the work in a timely, efficient manner. I highly recommend Ryan Electric for any of your electric needs! Robert was able to come out and fix our living room recessed LED lights on very short notice. In fact, he ended up coming way earlier than expected on the day of, which worked out even better for us. He was able to diagnose the problem and fix everything in less than the initial estimated time. He was also very honest with his price and made sure everything was taken care of before he left. Robert was very knowledgeable and thoughtful. Wish we had gone with Ryan Electric in the past, but now we will know who to call in the future. Two thumbs up!

Ryan Electric replaced our 60 year old electrical panel last week and did a beautiful job. This project was not without its challenges! They pushed through the issues and made it work. Ryan Electric handled all the correspondence with the city inspectors, SCE and all work was passed with flying colors. The office communicates well, making the whole process simple as can be. And to top it all off, they solved a decades-old wiring mystery inside our house... that three previous electricians gave up on! You cannot go wrong with Ryan Electric!
Ryan Electric is the BEST! I recently moved into a new home and he installed 5 fans, 2 chandeliers, and 2 flush mount lights in record time.
I highly recommend his service. He is a pro and does a fantastic job. He had to install new wires, boxes, and outlets for most of my light fixtures and did a fantastic job at it. Everything turned out really clean and neat and looks professional.
He took the time to explain what he had to do and gave me realistic and affordable options. He even provided more high end options so that I was aware of what is out there.
Robert showed up early for the appointment and I give him kudos for that because most people are late.
He was very respectful of my space and treated it with care like it was his own home. You won't have to worry your walls, floors, or furniture getting dinged during installation.
The materials that he used were of good quality and I am sure that they will last a long time.
You can try getting multiple quotes but this guy offers a reasonable price but most importantly the quality of his work is outstanding. I asked him if he would give a good discount if you mentioned reading this review. Tell him you read May's Review on Yelp and he will give you an extra discount.

Robert was great and very pleased with his work and professionalism. I found him on yelp and originally called him out for a small issue, he was able to fix it in a few minutes. Since he was already there, I asked for a quote to install 3 Ring flood lights and hang a TV (didn't know electricians did this but he does) and he gave me a reasonable quote. About a week had passed and I was now getting ready to go out of town for an extended time and forget to follow up with Robert and schedule for the work to be done. I called Robert asking if he can fit me in within the next 2 or 3 days, after moving things around, Robert called me back and told me he would be able to come before my trip and do the job. I was thrilled that he could fit me in.
The day of the job, I asked if he could also install a Ring door bell, he said he could and again I was happy he could fit that in as he had another job after mine. I think overall my job took longer than expected but Robert never rushed the job and made sure that everything was properly installed before he left.
Recently moving in, I didn't have internet so I was not able to check my flood lights or door bell, but the TV installation looked great. As of today, I have internet and have connected my flood lights and doorbell. Everything works perfectly and couldn't be happier with Robert's work. I will definitely be using Robert for any future jobs.

Hands down the ONLY guys and gals I'm calling for electrical work. My whole back yard was Mickey moused in the 60s and these guys came in and set it right! I would highly recommend Ryan Electric! Friendly faces, great attitude and very skilled in their trade. I called them out for what-I-thought were relatively minor issues, but as with many projects, what you assume is a small project turns into a larger one- to do it right anyways.
Rather than having a bad attitude, or taking the easy way out, James and Joey were great. They presented the issue clearly, offered several options on how to proceed, and didn't leave out the option that is harder to save them effort or time. When i chose the more intense fix, they were happy to do it and executed the tasks with direction, precision and in a timely manner.
Although they were supposed to only be at my project for 1-2 hours, they ended up being there about 7 hours and were pleasant throughout. I felt like a priority to them and couldn't have been happier when they left. I was left with a confident feeling that the job was done, and done RIGHT. With electrical work, there is no better feeling. We will ABSOLUTELY use Ryan electric in the future!
We have been looking for a good electrician for what seems like forever. I am so pleased to say that we have finally found one. We had a fan that wouldn't turn off and needed a new receiver installed. Ryan Electric was so courteous over the phone and worked around our schedule. Robert came out today and not only was he on time, he was 10 minutes early. He not only fixed the fan but also two other electric issues that we have been wanting to get done for a while. His rates were so affordable and his work was top notch. We have found our new electrician!!!!!!

Chris is very helpful with the tenant's electrical problem, and she kept both tenants and landlord updated with progress. Most electricians are expensive and asked for a minimum hour, but they were professional to the point and no B.S.
Everything is awesome, however I think Chris is the only one working at the office, it gets hard to get a hold of her. (But surely if you leave a message she'll give you a call back.)

Always a pleasure to have Ryan Electric come out James and Robert super nice guys, reliable, honest and affordable and they are quick! We've used them twice so far to install ceiling fans and to replace an arching back porch light fixture. Chris in the office very sweet and helps with appointments on your availability! Excellent customer service!
Robert gave me a quote this morning to change a very old circuit breaker that was malfunctioning and creating all kinds of minor issues for us. It included the old part and labor, so very reasonable. He was able to schedule me in same day. In fact he came by noon. I have a very old box from 1957. But Robert took the extra time to clean the bus & make sure good contact was made with the replacement breaker. Now everything is working perfect & it seems all my problems are fixed finally!. I highly recommend Ryan Electric & Robert!! (PS. I definitely need to replace to entire braeker box, so Robert even gave me a very reasonable quote on that....& when my bidget allows, I'll be calling Ryan Electric again!!!)

I found Ryan Electric through Yelp and I couldn't be more happier. I just bought a house and need an electric work. I messaged Robert and he responded right away with ball park estimate of what I needed. I called Kris to make an appointment for Robert to come out. Kris was able to squeeze me into their busy schedule. Kris is such a sweetheart. She is so easy to talk to and very kind and honest person. Robert did an awesome job with all the electrical work around the house. It was long list of things to fix but he was able to finish it in one and a half day. He even came out on Sunday to finished the work. Not only he finished the work fast but did an excellent job. I would highly recommend Robert and Kris to anyone who is looking for electrical work.

Robert recently performed a ton of work on a new (but old) house for us. Robert was extremely diligent in explaining all of our options, what needed to be done, what could be done, and what should be done. His quotes were fair and competitive and our final bill had no surprises. Kris was super helpful and awesome at communicating what was going on with the city and permits both before and after the work was done. They're the best.
Robert was able to fit me in his busy schedule and help me figure out how I was going to supply power to my Jacuzzi that I was going to move behind my detached garage. Robert was in and out in a few hours and sorted out my electrical issues so I can move forward with my house project. Everyone else that I contacted for a quote could not see me till the end of the year.

Great job by these guys. We had our bathroom rewired, added a new heater/ventilator and can lights. They were prompt, clean and very helpful in making some design decisions. I will definitely have them back for more projects.
Needed an electrician to put in 240 3 phase and some 110 outlets. Contacted five electricians. Robert responded quickly and had everything hooked up within a week. Great service!
Robert did an incredible job. The inspector even stated on how great a job he did. Robert moved our electrical panel and grounded our house plus numerous other work that had to be done. In regards to price he was under what we budgeted for the job and has very fair pricing. I saved his number and he will be my go to electrician.

I had him do some rewiring in our attic to fix the attic fan that had been hardwired into the same line as our dining room lights (so fan was not venting out hot air unless our light was on... nice..) and he cleaned up some messy wiring on hanging lights for us as well. Very efficient and honest with regards to his fees. I had a few random things that needed to be fixed and he took care of them promptly. Listened to my concerns about some existing wiring and helped me out with that.
What a fantastic experience with this family-run company. Robert came by for our appointment on a Saturday morning because that was the only day that worked for me that week-very accommodating right off the bat. He was on time, professional, and took the time to thoroughly examine the projects needing attention in my home. He was straightforward and knowledgeable and most of all honest with me regarding the work that needed to be done. He thoroughly explained everything to me in layman's terms so that I understood everything that was needed and the cost of it all. Our first project was the grounding and re-wiring of four outlets in my office which was done perfectly and neat. The price is very fair and competitive, experience was pleasant and I look forward to doing business with him again in the future. Highly recommended.

I recently was shopping around to install new light fixtures in my home. Right off the bat, Robert had the most reasonable price of the 10+ electricians I spoke with. He was timely in his communications, and accommodating to my sporadic schedule. When we landed on a time, Robert and his partner (who's name is escaping me) showed up right on time. We had a few setbacks to the start of the job. It was raining pretty hard, and the front door happened to be locked due to reasons out of my control. But Robert and his guy helped me get into my home, and we got started on the job. Even as we were going, a few minor issues would come up, and they would always find ways to get through it. I was very happy with the customer service that was provided, how solution oriented the team was, and how reasonable and fair they were on price compared to everywhere else we checked. And most importantly, the light fixtures turned out great! I would definitely recommend Robert and his team to anyone in the future.

Called Ryan's Electric to get a quote for moving a out of code meter and wiring nightmare. I needed to relocate the panel, update all the circuits, and run power to a new AC unit. I called three companies and Ryan s Electric did the best overall survey and had the best handle on what needed to be done. Communication was excellent, price was fair, and work was outstanding. Ryan electric is a real find. Had lights and the garage gate motor flicker off and on and Robert pinpointed the problem right away and the problem was solved within 20 min. The price was very reasonable and honest. Will definitely recommend him for any electrical work.

Ryan Electric is the MOST EXCELLENT electrician in Orange County. He was recommended by a friend and thought I'd try out his service. Robert Ryan is honest, reliable, punctual and reasonable! We recently had work done in our backyard patio that we are truly impressed with. There were no existing electrical outlets outside, but he made it all work out with all the wires hidden! We also had accent lighting put over the garage under the eaves which didn't have any electric outlets either. The lights come on and off automatically due to the light sensor and timer he installed. Everytime we come home, we just love the way the accent lighting adds that beautiful touch to our home. Lastly, he truly cares about all the details and will ask and consult before he does anything major. He is the Best Electrician out here. I highly recommend him!!

Robert, of Ryan Electric, did all the electrical work incidental to the installation of a new furnace, central air conditioner and new water heater in my very old house, and replaced 100 amp with 200 amp panel. He was excellent! He's an honest hard worker with high standards and his word is good!!! (Santa Monica City inspector signed off on everything he did.) Very reasonably priced, too.
