My client (the Sellers) were up against a deadline for closing escrow on the sale of their home in Potrero Hill. The company that they used for the remodel somehow turned off both water heaters and could not get them started. Mind you, it was a licensed contractor that could not get them started!  

In a panic, I called Hassett Plumbing.  Ronan answered the call and said he was around the corner and had a few minutes before his next client.  He said he would stop by the house, assess the situation and get back to me.  Within 30 minutes he was at the house, started both water heaters, and double checked that hot water was flowing throughout the home.  

Talk about service!  Not only would I recommend Ronen Hassett Plumbing, he has now moved to the top of my list as a responsible, personable and trustworthy vendor.  Thank you Ronen - you saved the day!

Rowan Hassett did a great job of installing a waterline to our refrigerator and installing a beautiful new kitchen faucet. He is a very nice professional person to have in your home! Ronan thank you for recommending the British detective show, 'Vera.' I have really enjoyed it!

I have only the highest praise for Ronan Hassett. He is my go-to plumber because I know he will be able to accurately diagnosis the problem and entirely resolve it. He is extremely professional and personable; moreover, his prices are fair and reasonable. When I described a problem with my kitchen drain pipes over the phone, he determined the source of it and came prepared with the right part, so no time, whatsoever, was wasted. Sadly, I've tried hiring them twice now since my initial help w the kitchen sink and disposal. No return phone call (after multiple calls each of the two times) gets them nixed from my list of go to helpers at the house.

You don't expect to enjoy having your kitchen drain pipes repaired, but I did. Ronan (and his son, who is his helper while school is out) came in, checked out the situation, and dealt with it in a quick, cheerful manner. A plus (for me, because I'm process driven and like to understand what's going on) was hearing him explain to his son what he was doing, and why. It gave me a real appreciation for how thorough the job was. The price was entirely reasonable. I am so pleased that I now have a go-to plumber!

Ronan is the best! Friendly, professional and knows what he's doing. He's good with text messaging for arranging appointments and was able to squeeze our urgent call in early next morning. He gave us a fair price and I'm super grateful everything is fixed and working again ! Will definitely be our go to guy !

Ronan was fantastic. Professional, kind, consultative, caring, honest, responsive and most importantly, got the job done excellently in a timely manner and for a reasonable price. I certainly don't seek to have plumbing issues, but if/when I do, he is The Man.

Ronan is The Bomb!

I had him out to fix a clogged toilet.  Which he accomplished in 5 or 10 minutes.  So I showed him our shamelessly leaky tub faucet.  Handymen have told me the wall would have to be ripped open and it would cost a fortune.  Ronan said that the faucet was old and that would have to happen eventually.  But meanwhile he fixed the faucet for the time being.  No more torrential leak!   His prices were very reasonable too.  And such a pleasant fella.  Count me another Ronan fan.

Ronan is the BEST!!

I contacted him for a leaky toilet. He was very responsive and efficient..calling me within 15 minutes from the time i left him a voicemail. He asked for pictures, the make and model of the toilet so he could order the parts ahead of time. I was able to text all of this information to him. The whole experience was very efficient! If you need a plumber you cannot go wrong with Ronan!

I would give Ronan six stars if I could!  I called him last night and he said he could come by this morning. He came on time, almost immediately figured out the problem and fixed it. I had a malfunctioning faucet that was leaking into the cabinet below the sink and then on to the floor beneath the cabinet. He fixed the problem with the faucet so I didn't have to buy and install a new one and he charged me a very reasonable service call fee. On top of being  extremely competent he was very engaging and entertaining. I just wish he was also an electrician, painter, handyman etc.

This is a long overdue review for Ronan. He was hired through our landlord to do work in our unit and I have to say, he was kind, efficient and worked diligently. I like to learn about things and he explained what he was doing and went above and beyond. It's tough work doing plumbing! My family and I were pleased with his work and the toilet is working fantastically. I think it's been about a year or so now. We will let everyone know how great your work is and recommend our landlord continue to use your services. Thanks Ronan for all of your hard work!

Ronan and David are very nice. Ronan came to fix our kitchen garbage collector and he fixed it well. David came to tighten our bathtub taps. Following that bathtub work one of our bathtubs started to empty in the bathroom beneath it. The coincidence made me suspect that the tightening created another issue. Of course I am not sure! But: disappointingly Ronan and David were too busy to come have a look at the new issue or even just talk about it.

Our toilet was backing up and our friend came over with his snake but was unable to help us. We needed a plumber in a pinch. Thanks to yelp reviews, I was able to contact R. Hassett Plumbing on a Sunday afternoon. When I tried to call, I got a text back: He was in a movie theater!
omg!! He texted me back even though he was at the movies! We continued our texting and I asked about other plumbers in this situation. He forewarned me that plumber's prices on a Sunday would be expensive so we decided to wait for Monday morning for him to come.

When he came and worked very hard to clear the clogged pipe but was unable, he did recommended a rooter company to come help us. Even though he was unable to clear the clog, I am so happy with him and his company.

This was BY FAR the best experience I have had with home maintenance! My apartment just adores Ronan!

Ronan was not only quick and efficient he is also a pleasure to talk to. He came out to fix both our sink and toilet on separate occasions and both times he was exceptionally honest and professional. He showed me the exact issues and made sure I was aware of how to fix minor issues in the future. I was also stressed about the drastic increase in our water bill for the last month due to the leaks and he alerted me of my ability receive reimbursement if I send a receipt of plumbing fixtures to the water company. I did this and they knocked $400 off of our last bill!!!

I will be using him for all future plumbing issues to come because I know he is reliable and will get the job down efficiently. Pricing is also extremely fair!

Ronan is the best. He managed to replace both of my toilets in a rediculously short amount of time - I showed him the toilets online, printed it out, and two hours later they were installed! Look awesome too. Highly recommend him, and will use Ronan again for any plumbing needs.

When it was time to get our garbage disposal replaced and I found out our trusted plumber had moved to the Easy Bay, I soon began to to worry. Finding a trusted plumber is like finding a good dentist, with the pain only getting worse the longer you wait.

Happily, my worry was soon gone after meeting with Ronan as he came by, checked out the model, and quickly got everything removed, replaced and checked. His demeanor made me feel so assured that I had him look at another sink that had a slightly misaligned handle that was bugging the hell out of me. Turns out they were misorientated by 90 degrees! I can't believe we've been using them like that for the past few years. Anyway, our disposal is straightened out and due to Ronan's eye for detail, so are our handles!

I called Ronan on a rainy Saturday afternoon about a broken kitchen faucet in our house in the Dogpatch. He picked up the phone and cheerfully agreed to come out to replace the fixture later that same day. He showed up on time, swapped out the faucet fixture and even looked at some issues with the toilets. What a guy. Other repair people should steal a page from Ronan's playbook.

Best repair experience I've ever had. We had an issue with our office's kitchen sink faucet so I called him at 10:37 this morning and left a message. He called me back within ten minutes and by 11:25am, our sink and faucet were in complete working order. He doesn't charge exorbitant prices and was extremely pleasant to work with. We'll be calling him again whenever we have plumbing issues from now on.

If I could give them 10 stars I would, Ian and Ronan showed up when they said they would, they showed up with a great attitude and all the things necessary to complete the job in my 111 old Victorian in San Francisco. They came ready to work did not waste my time and got right to the project.  Being a woman and not super knowledgeable about plumbing they took the time to educate me about the things that needed to be done. I highly recommend them , and I will use them again for my next plumbing project.

I was in need of a reliable and knowledgeable plumber to work on an apartment building (maintenance/repair) in San Francisco. I saw Ronan recommended many times on the Potrero Hill Next Door web site, so I called. Ronan was wonderful! As promised, he came out quickly to look at the problem, and was able to fix the stopped up bathtub right away. He was very respectful of the property (took his shoes off before entering the apartment and put down floor coverings where he worked) and was very courteous to my tenant, both which I appreciated. He also looked at another small issue with the plumbing, but told me honestly that it was not anything to worry about and that to fix it would be a big expense (would need to tear out tile, etc.). How refreshing to finally know a plumber who is not only knowledgeable, but honest and fairly priced.

Last year, I had a plumber come out to clean out our outside drains. He broke an access valve, and then proceeded to tell me that it would cost me $650 to repair it (I have since had it repaired for a fraction of the cost). So, after many experiences like that, Ronan was a breath of fresh air, and I will be calling him for all my future plumbing repairs and projects.

Ronan was also such a joy to talk with. We talked about life in general, as well as his kids (he adores them!). What a nice guy! Somehow we got on the topic of earthquakes, etc. and he asked whether I knew where all the water and gas shut off valves were and how they worked. I wasn't sure about the gas shut off valve, so he took the time to look at our meter box and showed me in detail how to shut it off and told me which tools I should have to do that. I was not charged for any of this helpful advice.

I highly recommend Ronan. He is extremely knowledgeable, honest, his prices are reasonable, and he is such a joy to work with (which in my book, rates very high). Life is too short to work with grumpy, harried, stressed out people if you can avoid that. So cheers to you, Ronan, and thank you for a job well done and a great experience!

What a wonderful man! The best thing about this guys is that he is really honest and he won't charge you more than it cost. He has a wonderful personality and is our best solution for any plumbing problems. We truly recommend him. Just be flexible with your schedule.

I have worked with Ronan twice - one to install a water heater and most recently to install a garbage disposal. The first one was an emergency as my old water heater went south and I had to shut off the water supply to my unit. Both times he was a complete pro working around my schedule and came on short notice. I've consulted him on smaller jobs that he advised I do myself (e.g. some simple toilet repair) without which I would have wasted a lot of money on repair due to my lack of knowledge.

He explains his work, does a thorough job and prices are reasonable. Would highly recommend and would definitely work with again.

It was time.  The pipes just said, ah can't tahk it anymore... Ronan Hassett answered the phone quickly, gave a time window, called to say when on the way and did a great job clearing the drain - turned out to be a challenge - but well resolved.  Tested everything completely before packing up.  Really A+ approach to the work and quality of the work.

And a big plus - Ronan redid the seals on kitchen and a bathroom plumbing, some were really far gone just waiting to give us a bad surprise.    

Very friendly, very reasonable.  I'm a fan!  Keep Ronan's phone number handy and give him a call when your plumbing talks back... it's bound to happen!

Ronan to the rescue again!  What a pleasure to work with such a professional, nice, thorough person.

I woke up this morning with no hot water.  I checked my water heater and saw a bunch of water on the basement floor.  I had to run a quick errand so I called a plumber from the car.  The first plumber was busy, but he called Ronan for me.  Ronan immediately called me and told me he could be at my house in 15-20 minutes.  In fact he got there before I got back, perhaps in 5 minutes.  While on the way back I remotely opened my garage door and when I arrived, Ronan was already at work, and a new water heater was on it's way.  The job was done in about 2 hrs from my original call!  Not only did he do a great job in a short amount of time, he's very personable, and willing to answer all questions.  He even wanted to see my cat who also liked Ronan.  I'm very pleased with the service I received from Ronan.

Everything every one else has said! On phone he told me he'd arrive within an hour & it was around 50 minutes. Smart friendly guy with great sense of humor and top professional skills!

Ronan is a fabulous plumber as well as one of the nicest people I've met.

He came out right away for an emergency leak under the kitchen sink. I described the issue to him and he came prepared with the replacement part in hand. He finished the job in under 2 hours.

I called him at 9:30am about repairing a leaky shower. After I texted him a photo of the faucet handle he arrived at my spot in SOMA at 11:40am and completed the work in less than 30 minutes. Can't ask for anything better than that. Reasonable rate and Ronan seems to be genuinely a nice guy out to provide professional and courteous service.

The heavy rains caused a drain in my yard to back up and flood my place. It was late Saturday afternoon and I was desperate for a plumber. I called Ronan and he was so helpful. He came over, was pleasant and knew right away what the problem was. He resolved my issue and gave me excellent suggestions on how to prevent the problem. His pleasant, professional demeanor put me at ease. I also didn't feel like he tried to gouge me, the amt he charged was reasonable. I highly recommend him!

I called 10+ plumbers in the city and Ronan is the most responsive plumber with very reasonable prices. He shows up on time (very rare) and did a great job fixing the kitchen sink clogging as well as replacing an old garbage disposer with a new one. He took off his shoes before entering the apartment and cleans up before leaving. He was also very fun to chat with since he has lived in many countries.

Ronan came to the rescue!

It was labor day weekend and I gave him a call on Saturday morning. He was able to fit me in pretty quickly. I've had my garbage disposal for 5-6 years and that's usually the time when a new one is needed - so just in case he brought a new one with him.

After a quick couple of tests, he said we'd be able to save my current disposal. Now - it's running great!

He was even able to give me some tips if I wanted to try to do it myself in the future.

Wonderful service, excellent work, and a really nice guy. I called Ronan, and within one hour we had scheduled an appointment, met and had the work done. It's hard to say anything that hasn't already been said, but...

I spent 4 days trying to schedule an appointment with another plumber before giving up. I called Ronan based on his reviews on Yelp. Since it was well after business hours, I was expecting to leave a message, hear back the next morning, and schedule an appointment for later in the week. But he answered, and apologized that he couldn't come by until 10:00 the next day, and he'd probably only be able to check it out and then come back later for the actual repairs. That was already more than I expected, but when he showed up at 10:00 the next day, he fixed everything in under an hour.

It also cost less than I expected, and he was both friendly and professional.

It was a dead-simple job, but still, I can't imagine any way in which it could have gone better, and I'd recommend him to anyone.

Ronan is the first plumber we've ever hired and he was great to work with. He came highly recommended from our contractor and we really enjoyed working with him. He held our hands along the process and came back several times to adjust things free of charge.

He saved us money by replacing parts, where appropriate, rather than tell us we needed a new toilet, as another plumber insisted.When we ran into further trouble, due to landlord shenanigans, Ronan was willing to come out at the crack of dawn to fit us in to another packed day for him. I won't hesitate to call on Ronan for all our plumbing needs.

I called Ronan late on a Thursday night and while he couldn't answer the phone, he texted back immediately that he was in a meeting.  We talked about 10 minutes later about my plumbing issue (toilet backed up and two slow flowing drains) and since it wasn't an emergency, he was able to come Friday mid-day.  He sent us a text on Friday that he was on the way at about 1:15, and he diagnosed the problems quickly and was even able to replace a part on the toilet.  All of this took less than one hour and was very reasonably priced.

I have a plumber! Ronan is wonderful... he installed our brand new, in-unit washer and dryer (yes, yes, we have made it as a matter of fact.) If plumbing hook-ups could be beautiful, these would definitely win a sash. And Ronan is super friendly, really respectful, and just a nice guy to have around.  Really hope we won't need him again soon, but I've programmed his number into my phone.

We were referred to Ronan recently when our sink over flowed and went out of commission for a few days.  After living in and re-doing an old house for over 10 years, we've encountered multiple plumbing issues but have never been able to find a reliable plumber! Until now! Ronan was really nice and smart (our issue took a little figuring out) and honest and reliable.  He came when he said he would and he got the job done.  Fortunately, we are no longer afraid of our plumbing issues.  Really glad to have found this guy and highly recommend him.

Magic! That's the word Ronan uses when he finds the missing piece of the plumbing problem before him. He did a masterful job not only on my bathroom faucet, but my kitchen faucet and roof as well! I was amazed by his persistence in getting to the root of the problem. I would say Ronal is 'magical' indeed!!

Ronan has (now 68) ratings and they are all, 100% 5-star. That's phenomenal and well-deserved. He's personable and reasonably priced. He did my kitchen drain cleanout for a flat rate. I got one other quote (which the other company only gave me after sending a technician out to evaluate the problem... a clogged sink drain... I told you that on the phone) and it was higher than Ronan's quote that he gladly gave on the phone. He was also right on time. I'll be using him the next time I need a plumber.

Discovered a leak where one of the toilets in our home goes into the floor. Called Ronan this morning at 9:05 AM and briefly explained the problem. He was here by 10:15 AM, quickly and cleanly fixed the problem, and the rate was very very reasonable ! NOW I know who to call when I need a plumber : RONAN !

Ronan is the best, excellent guy, which is I called him this morning and telling him that i have the toilet is (clogged) stuck and when flushed,  it will overflowed the bowl and water spilled everywhere on the floor, so he mention would be able to come over at 3:00pm, but after 30 minutes he called me back that he even have time to come over right away, I had him out to fix a clogged toilet, which he accomplished less than 10 minutes. Ronan said that the pipe is too small so must be careful not to use toilet paper lot. And he gave us a discount which is so nice of him. Thank you Ronan for spreading your energy to the world so excellent.

Sears came out to my home with a new range but wouldn't install it as the gas valve was old and would shut off the gas.  I needed a plumber immediately but all I called could not come out for days.  Mr. Hassett was able to come out shortly after my call, replaced the old pipe and gas valve, AND installed the stove for me.  He is a pleasant and friendly fella and I would recommend him for any plumbing needs you might have.

I echo the comments of others - Ronan is the best.  He quickly identified and resolved the problem.  He is both honest and efficient.  I will definitely be a repeat customer if the need every arises again.

A new years party resulted in a broken garbage disposal and clogged bathroom sink. I phoned Ronan after reading his stellar reviews on Yelp, and I am happy that I did. Ronan expertly assessed the problems and quickly went about remedying the issues. What I appreciate most, however, was that he took the time to show me precisely how to fix the problems should they arise again in the future. Ronan Hassett did a great job for us, upgrading two shower heads snd two toilets in our condo.  He is a friendly Irishman, much fun to talk with and he charges a fair price.  He also makes good reccomendations for plumbing fixtures. He is now our plumber! I highly reccomend Ronan.

Quick, reasonably priced, and super-friendly. Highly recommended! We had got a quote from Cabrillo for our leaky toilet that was absurdly high. So glad we found Ronan for a second opinion. He showed up and did the work in a half an hour for a QUARTER of what Cabrillo wanted to charge us. Will call Ronan for any future plumbing issues for sure!

This review is long overdue.  Ronan is awesome, if I ever need any plumbing work he will be the first person I call.  Honest, straight forward.  I had some plumbing work done in our building that didn't seem quite right.  I called Ronan and expressed my concern.  He told me to send him a few pictures of the issue.  Called him back and he explained that although the work could have been done better it appears that it will last and should be good.  All and all this took about 15 minutes.  Much appreciated, thanks Ronan!

Ronan is fantastic!  I called him on the Monday night of Labor Day weekend (after closing hours), and he answered immediately and scheduled an appointment first thing Tuesday morning.  (He even offered to come over immediately if my problem was an emergency.)  Clogged drain, fixed!  He even helped with a few other fix-it problems unrelated to my original call.  Ronan was fast, efficient, and nice.  I won't hesitate to call him again.

Ronan was at my place this morning and I can't recommend him highly enough. I left him a voice mail on Sunday after closing, and assumed I wouldn't hear back until the following week. Instead, he texted me within 20 minutes to say that he would call Monday. True to his word, he called Monday morning and offered to be there in 30 minutes. And he was! He cleared my disgusting clogged drain in less than 30 minutes, cleaned up after himself, and his prices are completely reasonable! Wanna know the best part? He is an absolutely lovely human being on top of it all. Need more like him. Is cloning an option? Thanks, Ronan!

Bravo! to Ronan! (R. Hassett Plumbing). He was very patient and listened to the problem we encountered at the warehouse. After all the rain we endured at the tail of March in Protrero Hills, the basement of the commercial building flooded with water, yikes! due to the sump pump finally stopped working. Ronan assessed the sump pump problem and pipes and patiently explained to me what needed to correct the problem and how long it would take and the cost.  He's very honest! He came in the next day, removed and installed a commercial graded sump pump and replaced the very aged galvanized pipes to copper pipes from small size to a medium size pipes. When the job was completed, it was great to hear the pump working and knowing the water was being extracted, surely it was removing the standing water in the basement. He did a good clean job and I would definitely recommend Ronan and his company to all my friends & family. Great job!

Ronan came by to check out a leak in our master bathroom. He was on time, super friendly and polite, and extremely knowledgeable. And HONEST - told us that the most likely problem was caulking and we could even do that ourselves to save on costs. He even talked to our neighbors downstairs about their concerns with the leakage, etc. and didn't charge an inspection fee.  If I ever have any future plumbing drama, Ronan would definitely be the first person I'd call!

There's a reason why he has 5 stars across the board.  Ronan was great.   He was able to do a same day service and quickly fixed my toilet.  Very courteous and professional, and I appreciated the fact that he used floor coverings and cleaned up before he left.  Will definitely contact him again if I have an issue!

Repair of shower valve to improve flow. Talked to Ronan one evening and set up time the next day.  He arrived on time, clearly knew what needed to be done, was cautious with a tight screw, thoroughly cleaned the valve, and it now works fine.  Also, a very nice guy. This was a simple repair, but I got the sense that he can handle much bigger issues. We prefer self run/ one person operations.  I'll use him in the future and recommend him highly.

Ronan is simply the best. Truly personal service the likes of which you simply cannot get from a plumbing company picked from the yellow pages. Fair, fast,knows his stuff. Great about accommodating emergencies, identifying  what needs to be done without overselling you. A genuinely lovely man.

I just moved into my place and had my first plumbing problem with a clogged toilet. Ronan came right over fixed it right away. He is the best plumber I have ever called. He is also courteous, helpful and instructive. It's also very clear he has the customers best interest at heart and is not interested in bleeding you. I now know who will take care of any plumbing problems that might crop up in my new place, and it will be Ronan!

My heartfelt gratitude goes to Ronan from R. Hassett Plumbing for tackling a large emergency plumbing job with through expertise, skill and graciousness. Contractors laying the sidewalk in front of my house had broken my water pipe, and given me a day or so to replace it (it was too old to be fixed). Since I was overseas, I used Yelp reviews to locate a good plumber, and good fortune led me to Ronald. He came over that same evening, sussed out the job, and gave me an estimate which came out to very reasonable compared to other quotes I received. Moreover, he seemed to really understand how to tackle the problem. He was able to negotiate between the contractors, my impatient and demanding tenants who were threatening to move into a hotel if water was not turned on within a day, and myself--taking my calls from overseas, and keeping me updated on what needed to be done. The water was turned on the very next day!! I cannot recommend him enough and I am grateful to have found such a great plumber in our neighborhood.
