Fool me once, shame on me...

Standard bait and switch. Quoted me a price to snake a drain. Once the plumber arrived (late), he upped the price. Scope of work hadn't changed.
I made three attempts to speak with the manager over the course of a month. No response. I don't leave negative reviews lightly. I made a good-faith effort to resolve any possible misunderstandings here.

I'm a local property manager and I'm always on the look out for a quality contractor. I had the good fortune of having Monarch Plumbing referred to me by one of my clients. Working with Monarch for the past year I have nothing but good words to say about the professional, prompt, and efficient service Jose and his crew have provided. On more than one occasion they have rescued me from major plumbing disasters.
They give me an estimate for the work and stick to what they quote.
They also have no problem taking the smaller jobs with the same great service and pricing. Overall I've found their pricing to be more than reasonable based on other plumbers I have worked with in the area. They will definitely be a vendor I continue to work with and recommend.

Where do I start I can only say wonderful things about this company. They save me so much money.!!! I called them on a Tuesday around 4 PM and they came at 6:30pm same day, they came on time. Super friendly and they save me more than half.I had previously contacted another company and they want to charge me almost twice. Monarch came the Hydro clean My sewer line and put camera. they show me the problem and mark the problems spot. I'm just so happy that I contact them. super happy with them.!!!!

They were the first company who responded back so quickly to my request. Visit time was scheduled; they were very punctual and showed up exactly when they promised. Two men crew (Ozzy +1) were very nice and proffessional. State of the art tools were used to figure out where the problem is. I requested for some pictures and within minutes I received them on my phone, very impressive!! Price quote was given to me before they left my property, I agreed and we set up a day. Again, they showed up exactly when they had told me. They started their work, and finished it several hours later. Their work area was cleaned thoroughly to my full satisfactions. I had such a good experience with them, that I would not even think about any other companies for my future needs. I HIGHLY SUGGEST THEM, you won't be disappointed!!!

We had a major leak on a Saturday afternoon and none of the plumbers we knew could come - or even answer the call. Monarch answered the phone! - and had a very knowledgeable plumber at our house within a few hours. We needed more parts and time than he had, but first thing Sunday, two very professional plumbers arrived and quickly had everything working again. We were even given a very good discount from the original estimate, since the work went faster than had been expected. Though not cheap (who wants cheap plumbing??), the price was very good for after-hours and near-emergency work. We are 100% satisfied, and very happy to recommend Monarch.

These guys are truly awesome. You should hire them without the slightest hesitation. You won't be sorry. Highly recommended! Not only is their workmanship outstanding, they're reasonably priced and even let you make payments. Free estimates. They were professional, polite, fair, honest & very hardworking.

We needed all the gas lines replaced on 2 houses. They must have brought at least 5 guys. They did it in one day. Then we needed them to relocate a hot water heater from inside the house to outside. That also required work on the water lines & the gas lines. Everything came out great.

They arrived on time with a team of guys. Everybody wore masks. They worked quickly and cleaned up afterwards, like they'd never even been there. They follow up on their work & respond immediately to any concerns you may have. Customer service, outstanding. Always call you back in a reasonable amount of time, no matter how many times you need something. Response times to troubleshooting are quick & effective.

I can't rate them high enough. Highly recommended!

Contacted Monarch Plumbing through Yelp after another service failed to show after I took a half day off of work. They later said they called to notify me they had an emergency but interestingly you would think if I didn't pick up they would have left a voice mail. They didn't, so on to Monarch. After making the appointment, it turns out they were running behind schedule but kept me posted of their arrival time which was considerate and greatly appreciated. That in part is what customer service is all about. They came out gave me a reasonable estimate for replacement of an outdoor leaking spigot. I gave the go-ahead and in very short order they were finished. Now no more leak. I definitely will use Monarch for future plumbing needs.

What a coincidence. I had appointment with a different company to come down but they never showed up. Called few other ones and ended up driving right behind Monarch plumbing truck (which says -- Free estimates). I called them, the guy showed up within 25 mins; and the job was done within 30 mins.

All the other ones quoted me about $150-$250 just to show up. Monarch plumbing rep charged me almost 60% less that the all other companies.

Very professional company. Will call them for any other plumbing jobs.

Upfront, fast, clean and punctual.
I called them to fix a gas pipeline leak. I got a quick response and quote was cheaper than others had quoted. Workers arrived on time on the said day and wrapped up the work pretty fast. They also did a good job in clean up the place.
PGE came and inspected and issue was resolved.

ATTENTION: After talking to 10+ plumbers and contractors - I just want to inform the lay person what I've learned to save some of you some $$$ and headaches.

Don't guess where you think the problem is - have your chosen plumber clear out the ENTIRE sewer line - inside and outside of your home and that they warranty the work. They only warranty what section was cleared so get them to clear it both ways! Make sure you run the water after the drain has been theoretically cleared to check and make sure water is flowing quickly not slowly trickling.

Some plumbers charge by the hour. Others charge by equipment. Call & ask for an appt if they give free estimate. Make sure it's a no charge if they are not able to unclog the drain. Each company gives different warranties, ask before you schedule an appointment. Ask for a WRITTEN copy of invoice, what work was done, cost and warranty before the plumber or any repairman leaves. Honest plumbers will start with the lowest costing solution and move up the ladder and clean up afterwards.

The Industry Standard Hourly Rate ranges from $110 - $125.

DRAIN SNAKE/AUGER - lowest quote $70, highest quote $150, avg quote $125 (Make sure they use the 4 blade, if they use a smaller blade chances are you will need another drain clearing in 3 months since the only opened up a small hole.) Minimum Warranty: 30 day

HYDRO JET - lowest quote $175, highest quote $350, avg quote $250, Warranty: 90 day

VIDEO INSPECTION - $150, ask for a copy of the video inspection for second opinions and alternate bids/quotes

SPOT REPAIR - $1050 - $1200

SEWER LATERAL REPLACEMENT - $2200 - $4200

My experience with Jose: Great Value, Knows his Craft, No Documentation

Jose and his crew were close by, offered $70 over the phone to snake the drain because I have an outdoor access point called a CLEAN OUT, but when he arrived, he looked at the clean out and said we have to use the Hydro jet to clear it out for $175 + put a camera into the sewer main. Shook hands on $175. He cleaned out the drain, dropped camera in, PARTIALLY diagnosed that a portion of pipe in the yard had cracked and needed replacement. Jose did not catch the soft blockage in the other direction which, I had to call out another plumber because Jose was a no show for 2 appointments (minus 2 stars).

Monarch did a big project at our house a year ago and I'm finally getting around to writing the review.

Our home had old 1949 era galvanized piping, and it was in bad shape. There was internal corrosion in the pipes to the point water flow was slowing. I was also not comfortable thinking about the 'yucky extra' material that may be breaking lose from our own pipes, contaminating our otherwise pristine East Bay MUD tap water. We are so fortunate to have good tap water, it's a shame to make it dirty within our own 4 walls.

We chose Monarch to repipe the whole house with copper, after looking at 3 bids, based on a fair price and Jose's competent explanation of how they would run the project. It was a big job, going from the street to every tap. We removed the traditional tanked water heater that was in our kitchen and installed a tankless water heater outside the home. This required a new gas line and earthquake shutoff valve, plus some minor electrical work. Trenching was done to the street connection. Walls were opened, closed, and repainted. Everything was permitted and they handled the permits and inspections.

One year later, we are still happy with the outcome. The hot water circulates throughout the house during our awake hours, so we have instant hot water at every tap. What a luxury, being able to turn on a strong hot shower immediately rather than waiting 5 minutes for the old trickle to arrive in the corroded pipes. There were a few small problems that emerged several months after the job was complete, like a whining near the incoming street water, and Monarch was out here within a day to address it under warranty.

I had been worrying about the expense of this project for a few years before tackling it, and I'm grateful that we chose Monarch. The whole crew was professional, clean, and courteous from start to finish. Thanks for a job well done!

Our main water line broke outside our house and burst like a foundation two days before thanksgiving. Several local companies don't have time opening to fix before the holidays. Had another company come out first but their estimate was double the cost of what several other plumbers estimated using photos. Luckily Ozzy and his colleague was able to take a look after they finished a job nearby and gave us a fair estimate, so we hired them.

Next morning they came and fixed the main water line, also helped us fixing an irrigation line that the previous plumber damaged during their digging. Very professional. Answered all our questions, and cleaned up the whole area. Monarch plumbing company does NOT raise price crazy to overcharge people like the other company did before holidays. I am glad to find them. I will let all my friends know about them if they need a plumber too.

Very highly recommended!!

Jose's team have just left us after installing underground sewer and water pipes, from what will be a new bathroom at the side of our separate garage, to the road at the front of our property. A week of hard slog, digging trenches, laying pipes, setting up water flow tests for the City Inspectors, temporarily replanting shrubs to keep them healthy and making good our front and back yards after their work. All in 90-100+ heat!! Jose himself came on the first and last days to check all was good. The team had done him proud.

These guys are amazing and come highly recommended!. They arrived early and worked hard everyday. When they had completely done they started to drive away then stopped their van in the Court. They had noticed dried mud where their van had been parked. They got out and swept it up leaving the front clear - that speaks volumes about the standards that these guys work to!

By Far, Monarch Plumbing & Rooter are thé best Plumbing Business in the Bay Area. Saturday, April 9th Miguel and Yovany came to my rescue to unclog my Bath Tub/Shower. The First Plumbing Company snaked my bathtub and indicated that I had roots in my bathroom tub/shower pipes. That was definitely misdiagnosed. Miguel and Yovany bought a camera and diagnosed everything through my clean out and there were no roots in any of my pipe lines or in the City's main line. One thing for sure I had old galvanized worn out pipes and they were replaced with the current up to date Plastic Pipes... My bathtub/Shower is completely working and I'm a happy camper. I will definitely recommend my family and friends to do business with Monarch Plumbing & Rooter.

I am leaving another review because we had to get these guys back and wow did they do a great job and fixed the actual problem! Eli and his protege came asap when we gave their office a call on a Sunday afternoon. They had to come the next day because they didn't have the van, which is fine because the last time they came, they were the only plumbers to come, get on our roof, snake from the roof, and put a camera in our pipes.

They finally saw a piece of pipe in our pipes which has been randomly clogging our pipes. They got it removed with snaking, precision, and water flushing. They did not quit on These guys are professional, friendly and I definitely would recommend these guys for any plumbing services. We love you Monarch Plumbing!!!

Jose, the company's owner, came to give us a consultation & when we were ready got get started his crew came in like a SWAT team--everyone knew where to go, what to do, how to do it & got to work immediately.

Jose came multiple times to check on the work & make sure that it was all running smoothly but honestly, there was no need because his workers are extremely hardworking, efficient, problem solvers, great at communicating any changes & most importantly true professionals at what they do.

We had a new sewer installation done & from beginning to end the work was done impeccably. The crew worked & left everything as if they had never been there--clean & intact.

I was in a pinch, my sewer lateral had backed up and we were expecting guests for the weekend. I tried to clear the blockage but was unsuccessful. It's five o'clock on Friday afternoon. I put out a call for help on Yelp and Monarch Plumbing and Rooter answered my call (first). Three others responded as well but were not available until Monday. Monarch was able to schedule me in for 10 -11 am on Saturday. Perfect! Ozziel and Andy were able to clear the blockage and check their work with a video camera in about an hour. Perfect. Their charge for this emergency service, $250.00 including travel. For that kind of service they deserve six stars. Thank you Monarch.

I needed trenchless sewer Replacement due to collapse of the clay pipes and root infiltration in my 1940s Hayward home, so I called Monarch plumbing as one of my 3 quotations, Eleazar came out and we discussed the job he was very concise and professional, he provided me a quote and contract within an hour.
After reviewing all my quotes, I decided on Monarch plumbing due to the fact that they offered the most work for the best price, they replaced all of the old clay sewer pipe in my yard and all the way to the street as well as the faulty areas underneath my house. Since I am in the construction industry as a manager I have seen many crews operate, it was a joy to watch Monarch plumbing in action, as soon as the trucks pulled up to my house on the big day everybody jumped out of the trucks and immediately had a purpose, they staged equipment, tools, materials, they immediately went into action and by the end of the day I was able to use all of the toilets and sinks in my house.Also, they took care of all permitting and inspections, patch back of city asphalt, patch back and replacement of my private patio concrete and left my house and yard cleaner than it probably was when they got here. I highly recommend Monarch and will use them again in the Future, exceptional leadership by Adrian the foreman on a smooth and efficient job, all members of the crew were professional, polite, efficient hard workers, Eleazar is highly knowledgeable and very fair and competitive with his pricing. I am having them back in a few months to repipe as well.

It was a completely terrible experience. We used them on a rehab property in the Peninsula. They did a repipe for the house along with sewer lateral and drain pipe repair. Initially Eli seemed capable however over time he showed a lack of caring and professionalism to get the job done right and in a timely manner. I had them pull a permit with the county and that was a convoluted process which they made complex on their end. To add insult to injury Eli's office scheduled the permit inspections and he was aloof on when they would take place. As a result, he missed three inspections of course this pissed off the county inspector. When they did the sewer lateral work they didn't take safety precautions by putting cones and plywood etc. They left it open and someone could have fallen into the dug out hole in the front yard. In addition, it was going to rain and they left the roof vents open and my other contractor had to fix their work otherwise water would have leaked into the home. I confronted Eli and told him I don't trust you anymore to follow through on the inspections and had a general contractor go in his place to meet with the inspector. He had the nerve to call me multiple times demanding a final payment and their office sent a demand that I would go into collections. Keep in mind I already paid more then 80% of the balance at this point. Based on contractor payment schedules the final payment would be made once we pass inspection which is what I told him and a competent person would understand this. One of the most unprofessional plumbing companies I've come across. Jose the owner is not pleasant either he would keep reiterating the final payment and I told him once it passes inspection.

Jose and his crew have been taking excellent care of my plumbing needs for over five years, working on my rental properties and home. Monarch is always prompt, friendly, courteous and efficient. I've never had sticker shock -- Monarch is among the most reasonable outfits in the area, and they always ensure that each job is done to my full satisfaction. They throw in courtesy help with minor repairs that are sometimes those little irritating things that maybe you could do, but they do it five times faster and warranty their work.

I did call another company first going down the list and they did not cut it
for me, so I told them thanks and called Monarch. The person who answers phones was super sweet and told me she could have someone out between a certain time. The 2 gentlemen who showed up were prompt within the time given. They came in, looked over everything and told us they had to go under the house. We get nervous [$$$] but knew it had to be done. We were given an honest estimate [was worse than we thought] but the quote was reasonable and the price for what they did today was very super reasonable for what they did. I highly recommend you call them for your emergency plumbing needs...they are good business. We will be seeing them soon to deal with the bigger issue at hand in a week or so. When our water bill arrived two days ago, we were shocked to see over 220 gallons a day reported as our average usage. This made no sense at all. I reached out to several plumbers (this is two days before a major holiday mind you!) and had several plumbers set a time frame for after the holiday for an assessment. We also had one unlicensed company come and suggest there were three leaks in our home (strange as the whole plumbing system is only 2 years old) and were ready to tear up the home for an unstated amount (they claimed they would not know until after they explored further). Then Ozzy and his team from Monarch arrived later in the day to do a very thorough and educational evaluation of our entire plumbing system. Ozzy confirmed that there were no in home leaks but rather the main water line running to the street from the house was leaking. It seems the former owners did not include that in redoing the plumbing system. Fortunately, Ozzy was able to bring his team out the next morning and had the water line replaced before noon the same day. It was worth the $2400 especially as the unlicensed plumber had quoted $2800 for this repair. They were also super conscientious about our new landscaping and returned everything back to it's original condition. Water is running smoothly, and the sweat is no longer running down my brow. Thank you Ozzy and your team at Monarch! I hope we do not have to call on you again but should there be another plumbing issue here in our humble home, you will be the one we contact. Lesson learned: thoroughly assess unlicensed contractors especially if they come quickly and are ready to do the work. Monarch, you saved the day in many ways! What a sweet way to end the year. We feel we are back in our flow state especially knowing we are not wasting any precious water!

Monarch Plumbing has been nothing short of amazing. We hired them to upgrade our entire plumbing system to copper pipes. They sent a crew of 4-5 guys who spent almost a full day completing the work. The crew showed up on time, were all very professional, and even took extra precautions during the COVID-19 epidemic to ensure minimal contact with me and maximum protection of our home. Our pipes backed up so we called Monarch to come check out the issue. I just bought my home a year ago and came to find out out we needed our sewer lateral replaced. Monarch contacted me quickly and came out later the same afternoon. They were able to diagnose the location of the leak under our refrigerator quickly (which as good as I had already gone though 6 bath towels) and went over my options.
They turned off the water to the refrigerator in order to stop the leak until I was ready to proceed at a later date (my choice).
They were professional and helpful and gave me suggestions for a later date.

This is my second time using Monarch, once for a simple repair and this time for major work. They have been punctual, professional, neat and their prices are reasonable. I will continue to use Monarch because they do what they say and they do it well.

Hi, I highly recommend Monarch Plumbing. My elderly mother had flooding in her basement. Contacted several plumbing businesses and Monarch Plumbing were one of the first to respond. They assessed the situation and determined it was a broken sewer line. Discovered that the City of Oakland had to inspect and issue permit before repair could commence. In limbo was my elderly mother who had to be displaced. Spoke with Supervisor Fernando who contacted the City of Oakland to expedite process given my mother is elderly. Greatly appreciated Fernando advocating.

I would recommend Monarch. Ollie and his partner were professional and efficient and explained things to me. My appointment was between 9-10am. I received a call before 9am to let me know arrival would be closer to 10am which was nice to be informed. They remained masked while doing the work. I asked for the discount offered in Yelp and it was honored immediately. This old house needs alot of work and I am happy that Monarch came quickly to handle replacement of the garbage disposal and kitchen faucet due to the leaks I encountered.

Monarch plumbing will now be my go to for any and all plumbing needs. They arrived promptly to give me a quote, and the job was scheduled for the next day. The techs repaired a broken drain pipe under my house, pumped out the water that had flooded and fixed the odor. They were my 4th quote. My water line from the meter on the sidewalk to the house was corroded and needed to be replaced approx 30 feet long. I called numerous plumbers and monarch was one of the most efficient companies. I highly recommend them based on 3 attributes.

1. Timely- showed up on time for the quote, emailed quote in less than 24 hours, responded to my questions quickly, showed up to perform work on time. Finished prior to deadline.

2. Efficient and reasonable- from initial contact to completing the job. Ozzy communicated with me on expectations, scheduling, city permits, inspectors and payment, we ran into a little issue with the concrete slipping and they gave me options that were fair and reasonable...

3. Clean and tidy- when they started the job they were very organized and orderly. They keep the area safe and clean. Posted cones, wore masks, and worked great as a team. When the job was coming to an end they cleaned the entire sidewalk, driveway, front yard where they trenched and the street in front of my property.

I noticed the wall is wet all the time after water usage. I called Monarch and scheduled for a free estimate. They came out the same day. Ramon was great. He looked at the wall and said he didn't think there's a leak. To confirm, he even crain the crawl space to make sure nothing was leaking. Rather than finding a leak in the area we suspected a leak, he found a large puddle of water somewhere else under the house. He had us turn on the water inside the house to see if there's any leak, but there wasn't a leak. There was an irrigation problem the day before. He told us to monitor the area and see if the puddle stays there. Ramon was awesome. He did all of this free of charge and told us to call them back if there continues to be an issue. They will definitely be the first company to call in the future if we have any plumbing issues. Thanks Ramon.

Our water heater went out on Monday and we had no problem buying another one at Home Depot. Beyond that, getting it installed correctly is a real mess trying to go through HD. We had used Monarch Plumbing in the past and called them. They were able to fit us in on Tuesday and two of their guys came and installed the new water heater and took away the old one. They arrived early, were very nice to deal with and did a terrific job. We highly recommend this company.

I have always had problems with plumbers doing half finished work and then over charging me for their service, but when I started using Monach plumbing they always fixed my plumbing issues the same or next day. They never had have to come back for the same problem twice and also they have very well mannered and polite laborers. We had what seems to be our annual sewer line back up again this AM as as usual I turned to trusty Yelp app to get some quotes on a sewer clean out. I quickly got a response from Monarch with a reasonable price for the service plus they're a Local Hayward company. They had a Tech out as promised who was polite and courteous using shoe covers to ensure he did not mess my flooring. They wore masks and practiced social distancing. They worked on the clog until it cleared and also provided me with a quote on a more permanent fix to the issues I seem to have at least yearly. I would surely recommend Monarch for plumbing services. Great work guys!

I called this company because my washer hose came flying out and sprayed gross stinky water all over my laundry room. Thinking there must be a clog I called and asked them to come out ASAP. The owner Fernando took down my info and said Eli would be there at noon. At 2pm I called because they still hadn't shown up and acted like they didn't really know they were supposed to be there. He said he would ensure they were on route and still never showed up .. so I finally just washed a load of laundry and hoped for the best. I am never using calling them again ... buyers beware especially if you have an emergency.

Monarch Plumbing is the best. Jose is great, you call him and he sets the appointment right away. Our water pressure was really bad, another plumbing company quoted us 8k for for the job. Thank goodness Jose was recommended to us, after his inspection, he quoted us less than 50% what the other company quoted. His staff is very professional and courteous. Today we had Ramon come in to change our kitchen sink. We had some problems with the fitting, but Ramon was so patient and hardworking that he made it work. He was on time actually he was 30 minutes early which was awesome and he did a wonderful job. Thanks Ramon! Their price is very reasonable and they do very good work. I highly recommend them!

They replaced a leaky water heater for me about 2 years ago. As I did not have much of a choice and Monarch was the only one that resposnded I worked with them. They did not provide me an extended Bradfors & White Extended Warranty form, and the system they installed had a faulty anode rod which caused hissing sounds, and the gas damaged one my faucets. They replace teh anode with an aluminum one a few days later and in the process damaged some of the sheetrock aroung the area of the water heater. They did not install any drip pan or anything at the time of installing the water heater.

Mostly happy we chose Monarch to address our needs - we had one toilet that needed replacement, but not urgently, and we got a good deal to replace all 3. The only issue is that we were not told the regular toilets they had in stock were chair height and not standard, which caught us off guard after installation. It would cost additional money to replace yet again (which they are thankfully willing to cut a deal on if we choose to go that route) so while the work was done well, quickly, and professionally, we're left with a product we're less than thrilled with but will have to get used to it.

I doubt that I will ever use any other plumbing company other that Monarch. Jose the owner and his crew are always on time, are always courteous, his crew is very knowledgeable in their work and they get the job done within the timeline that they say they will have it done. We got a prompt response for the 2 plumbing issues we had. Ossie gave us a time window for when he would come, then called to let us know exactly when he would arrive. Monarch Plumbing really came through for us!!! Fernando helped us over the phone and he found us a technician in a timely manner. Our technician Edward aka Eduardo is the best! We recently had a couple plumbing issues and called for Ozzie at Monarch Plumbing and Rooter as we had met him and a partner in a parking lot of a big box store. We are greying and they had been super polite to my husband and I struggling to load our car. A couple weeks later we called them out to remove a laundry sink and put in a high rise washer outlet tube. They did a great job and made good recommendations on ways to approach other plumbing issues. They even took away the sink. They do free estimates and stand by their work. I was demoing my bathroom on a Saturday for a remodel and I demoed the copper water pipe for the sink...water spraying everywhere. So with my water turned off at the main I need a same day emergency repair.

I got a response from Monarch in less than 10 minutes and Ossiel and a coworker were there an hour later for the free estimate. They fixed the leak with a great looking seal, in about 30 minutes, and all for only $150.

I will for sure try them for all future plumbing needs.

Sadly, while company was initially responsive, they scheduled an onsite appointment to visit my house this morning to assess my project and provide a bid. Company confirmed via email that their tech would arrive between their suggested, designated times. I rearranged my schedule to ensure that I was home for their tech. Tech did not keep the confirmed appointment; neither was there any communication from the tech or company regarding any possible delays, etc. Simply a no-show. When I wrote to the company after the scheduled window had passed, company rep indicated that they would follow-up with tech in an effort to avoid future problems, but, of course, such does nothing to address my needs or situation. If reliability, responsiveness, and effective communication are important to you, I trust that your experience is vastly different from mine.

Best service you can ask for Jose is friendly and very caring. I called him in the morning and he came to my house the same day and gave me a quote right away. We called him to let him know we would like to have him do the job and he was there a couple days later right on time with his crew. They re-did all my plumbing in my house and they finished that same day had the tapers come and fix the hole in my wall that they needed to make to get the pipes in and by the third day Jose came himself and installed our toilet. This review is long over due. It crossed my mind now as my in-law just had the same problem in Hawaii.

Jose did the sewer replacement of one of our rental properties in Richmond about 6 years ago. At the time, the back unit was too far from the street main and the fall of the sewer pipe was not steep enough and so the back unit had sewer back flows all the time (good thing it went to the shower pan first).

I had asked two other plumbing contractors and neither of them could figure out a way to make it work without causing an arm and a leg. Jose was able to come up with a creative way to truly fix the problem at a reasonable price, and we haven't had any problem since!

Moreover, shortly after the job, an issue came up that traced the root cause to be a very unexpected situation, but to do a clean fix it would require him to break open the concrete and redo part of the work.

Most others would likely try all sort of excuses and perhaps come up with some quick fix. But Jose took the matter in his hand and came back to redo the work without any quibbling. I wasn't even a regular client of him and that kind of professionalism truly set them apart, in additional to doing an excellent job which looked very professional (rather than some patchy looking repair job) at the time. I'd wholeheartedly recommend them!

I'm writing this review on behalf of my mom's (senior) neighbor....UH OH, there's a steady drip from the ceiling along with some bowing...not a good sign since she lives in a 2-story home.

Neighbor called up Monarch Plumbing & Rooter and they were able to be at her house in 2 hours....they weren't able to do the same day but scheduled her for the next day. Unfortunately, my moms neighbor couldn't be home so I helped out to oversee the repair while she attended to a family matter.

Miguel mentioned he would arrive at a set time, called when he was on his way, covered and moved items in her home with care and he and his worker (Yovany) went straight to work.
They cut the area where there was a leak and determined no piping in the area (good) but where water had been pooling (bad news) for probably a couple of weeks...they then determined the issue was on the other wall that was directly under the upstairs shower and began to inspect and cut another hole while minimizing sheetrock damage

True professionals: Miguel and Yovany kept me informed at each step of the project (so I could advise my neighbor via phone), presented the good/bad news with no hard sell...Miguel takes pride in his work and said his work speaks for itself and guaranteed. Approximate time spent 5 with an hour find the problem, buy the necessary parts, fixing the issue, testing and cleaning up.

Moved into a new home that was vacant for close to 2 years. When a house sits for too long without being used, things stop working, washers dry out, cast iron pipes narrow with rust. The washing machine was backing up into a shower. The dishwasher made a waterfall. A toilet continued to run. The kitchen sink, bathroom sink & tub would not drain. Nearly all spigots inside and outside were dripping, including the main shut off valve.
We are so pleased to have come across Monarch Plumbing. Eli & Milton showed up about 2 hours after making the call. That same day, nothing could be resolved because their camera scope stopped working, but our laundry list of problems was shared. Over the next week, we saw them almost every day, some days for a few minutes and some for several hours. They inspected just about all the drains internally with cameras and externally in our crawl space, showing us live feed and photos. Some snake-ing was done but where the cast iron pipes were sealing themselves, the snake broke thus still no draining. Over that week, pipes got repaired, washers, couplings and the main shut off valve were replaced. Garden faucets and toilet innards updated. They did it all. Eli was great at listening to our concerns and was even able to identify a few others. Thanks to him, no more leaks, creaks or squeaks, just some good ol' flowin' and goin'. Very good pricing considering so much had to be done. Highly recommended.

What I truly appreciate about Eli and his protege Joseph is that when the job got more complicated than expected, they stuck with it! I don't think that the cost went up in any unreasonable way.

I called Monarch Plumbing this morning to arrange for an estimate, and Eli and his protege Joseph came a few minutes before the afternoon window. I needed to have three or maybe four toilets repaired, and once I was presented a reasonable estimate I was surprised that they offered to just begin the work.

I had not requested replacement of the shutoff valves. At least two of them were connected to the toilet by what I would call a half-baked triangular tip on a piece of rigid plastic tubing. Replacement of that connection, which should be a flexible hose, was part of my requested job and was actually the reason that my own previous repair efforts didn't get the job accomplished.

What I appreciate about Eli and Joseph is that although they did have to add replacement of the shutoff valves, AND they had some old gaskets holding the tank which had dried out and needed replacement to prevent leakage, AND because one of the toilets is in an awkward work location; they stuck with the job (more complicated than first expected by either of us) and told me the additional cost as it went along.

All told, it did cost me more than just replace the ballcock or Fluidmaster flow valve and the water supply connection, I think they did excellent work and earned the fee. Many would get their toilet repaired for less, but Eli and his protege gave me good value in this day and age where plumbing expertise does not come cheap.

One minor improvement I would mention is that once they realized that the shutoff valves would need to be replaced, Eli found it necessary to visit the Home Depot supply center instead of stocking a small supply of such a common item in their van.

I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to write this one. I highly recommend these professionals. From the first visit where two polite gentlemen showed up and put camera down sewer. They took measurements and wrote a quote that was thorough and completely described all work to be done. Then, on day of sewer lateral replacement, a full 8 person crew showed up and went to work. At the end of the day it was completed, inspected and site was left spotless.
My father was a master plumber and I'm sure he's smiling looking down from heaven. Thank you monarch plumbing!!!

Our 75yo 200'+ sewer lateral was backed up. Plumbing Care determined after trying to snake the line that the job required more powerful equipment. (They charged nothing despite working for nearly an hour.) PCI recommended Monarch who came out the same day. They provided a reasonable estimate to jet the line and had it cleared within an hour. They then ran a camera on the line and determined it was in good shape except for a slight offset in one of the pipes. In other words, the clay line had not collapsed and required replacement.

Have to say that I picked them based on the reviews here on Yelp. I made an appt the evening before for 8 am for a camera for our pipes. 8 am comes. Nothing. At 8:30 I start calling and have to call 6 times to get a live person. Finally at 9:50 the guy shows up. Our situation was a DIY gone bad. We had gotten the drain snake stuck. We had called and asked for a camera to look to see where and how it was stuck. The first thing the guy does is start to put water down the hole, which stirs up water and stuff making it impossible to use the camera at that moment. I was furious. He did exactly what we didn't want. And we don't want to fill the hole we had dug with water/mud. And he did EXACTLY THAT! Then the guy says he doesn't even have a camera with him . He has to leave to get it and it's just around the corner and he will be back in a few minutes. He leaves at 10:20 and comes back at 12:40. He hooks up the camera and it's like looking at a ultrasound machine, where the technician is the only one who can read it. There is no clear picture. Not because of the water in the pipe. Because of the crappy camera. He explains what he sees...I don't see it. Then he says THE ONLY way to get the snake out is to break the pipes and replace all of our pipes and that starts at $3k. But if I want to do the job the right way I should replace all of my pipes to the street and he will give me a discount of $6k. I ask if there is any other way. Try to retrieve it with another snake or something? Nope. So I send him on his way. I figure let's try to get it out ourselves. If we break the pipe we will then incur the $3k but at least we tried. My husband and I work at it for an hour more and bam. It comes out...FREE. So needless to say that we won't be calling them again

Jose, the owner, is a great guy. He is honest and price is very reasonable. His team is hard working guys and trustworthy. I have been using Monarch Plumbing for last 3 years for my house and apartment units. I have many experiences using different contractors, but Monarch Plumbing is the top rating 5 stars service, in my opinion.

Jose and Ely are very helpful and responsive every time I called and asked a question. When Ely came the first day to provide me a free estimate, he was very thorough during his investigation and assessment of the issue.
He patiently explained the cause of the issue and clarified the solution. He was even willing to help me unclog the sewer line temporarily since he would need to return the following day for the sewer clean out access installation.

They did an excellent job with the sewer clean out installation. Put back/patch up everything after the work is complete. They kept us informed when they were testing the installation. They made sure we are satisfied with the outcome. They even provided us a warranty to this installation.

Most important, the pricing and choice of options are very reasonable and meet our budget and need!

This is definitely a five - star service

I would definitely contact them if I need their help again!!

We requested services through Yelp and Monarch was one of the most responsive plumbers in our area. They're the one who can respond that morning to our emergency that has flooded our first floor restroom and adjacent coat closet. Eli was very professional, arrived on time, explained what he's seeing on the camera, and discussed the next steps. He could've just clear the clog about 70 feet outside of our house, but he also told us about our main that has standing water. I'll spare you the ordeal we have to go through and our HOA not maintaining our privately-owned main, but thanks to Eli and his professionalism, we now have our main cleaned out! And we happily provided referrals to our neighbors who are now wondering about their main!
