I have been doing business with Mark Ballard (MB) for over 10 years now and on top of being honest and fair, you will find that Mark, Gabriel and Warren are 3 of the most knowledgeable professionals in any service industry that you could encounter. Last month, my tenants reported an a/c unit leak from the attic and my home warranty company sent out a vendor that wrote up an additional $1000 in upgrades, modifications and tests that weren't covered. I called MB for a second opinion and Gabriel went out to my rental property later that afternoon. He assessed the problem, emailed me pictures and called me to explain my options for repairing the problem. It turned out that the upgrades were unnecessary for the type of repair needed (according to CA state law) and Gabriel was able to get the parts and have techs ready to service the unit faster than 2 other local vendors, which was crucial during the heat wave, so I took the cash out option with my warranty company and scheduled the repairs with MB, but as my luck would have it, the job had to be stopped when water damage remediation became necessary. To my surprise, even after the job was abruptly paused, the MB techs made sure that they secured all of the cords, sealed off hoses, ducts and parts of the system in the attic, cleaning up after themselves so well that the insurance adjuster noted it in his report. Also, during that time, Gabriel called me to see if everything was going well with the additional repairs and to let me know that they would be ready to pick up where they left off as soon as I gave the word. This really meant more than I could put into words, during a time that was stressful and frustrating. Kindness, compassion and quality service in a timely manner from your neighborhood plumbing, heating and a/c company, imagine that! If you are in their service area, you'd be silly to look anywhere else for repairs!
