     Simply  the best.           It doesn't matter if you pinching pennies   or you have the most successful app on the market .     It doesn't matter if you hire him,     accidentally meet him, or have  the pleasure of working for him.       It doesn't matter if you have zero understanding of a simple switch or if you have a masters in any electrical arena.
   MARK is simply the best in all areas
I am a much better electrician because of my brief encounter with him.      You will always learn something cool if you hang around him for more than 5 minutes. The great Nikolai would stand up and cheer for Mark Schulkamp.

Mark Schulkamp is fantastic (and brilliant)! He and his crew are consummate professionals and will get your job done right. I've worked with him on several projects (new lighting for a condo, all new wiring and lighting for a new home, some small jobs). He doesn't have a lot of reviews here because his business is all word-of-mouth. You can't go wrong for your project.

On a friend's recommendation, I called and got an appointment with Mark for a Friday afternoon.
He failed to show up or call. I have no idea what happened.

Okay, here's the scoop:  I'm giving the entire Schulkamp organization 6 stars!  

After a recent bathroom remodel we decided the 4 recessed LED ceiling fixtures had to go.  

We didn't like the stark, blue-light of the LED type and figured we had to replace the whole fixture...which we thought meant going into the attic crawlspace, pulling the old hardware and installing new fixtures to get the warmer incandescent light we wanted.  I'm retired and the thought of trying to go into a cramped attic to change electrical fixtures wasn't in the cards.

I literally called 5 different electrical shops around Daly City and basically got blown off because the job was either too small...or we didn't get a return call at all.

Then we got a return email from Michael Crucia at Schulkamp.  

He was their project coordinator and immediately said No problem...we'll send Mark, the owner, over to have a look.  The next day, Mark showed up, took one look and said You only need to replace the trim fixture to get the lighting effect you want...I have one in the truck to show you!  He popped one out...stuck the other in, and it was perfect.  He said going into the attic wasn't necessary and it would take about 5 minutes to swap out the other 3, and he'd have someone drop by the next day to finish the job.  

Next morning, at 8AM, Morgan and Ed showed up (great guys...friendly, professional, funny and FAST).  They were in and out in about 5 minutes and now we have 4 great looking warm-glow fixtures in the bathroom.  

Here's my take away - When every other firm in Daly City basically blew us off, Schulkamp not only responded immediately, the owner himself came by and pretty much saved us a bundle by pointing out a quick, inexpensive and easy-to-do fix for our problem and he did it with enthusiasm and a smile.  Then Schulkamp sent over a couple of great guys who pretty much gave us VIP service in under 10 minutes.  It was a jaw dropper.

Look, if you're retired and can't climb a ladder anymore or have anything to do with electrical issues around your house...do yourself a favor and call Mark Schkamp and don't bother with being jerked around by the guys who won't even call you back.  

If you're lucky, Mark will send Morgan and Ed over and it'll be a great experience.

After trying for nearly a month to get an electrician to come out for a small little thing (getting a plug put in behind where my new stove was going, as the old one was hard-wired in) and getting flaked on by one guy, we got lucky and found these guys and I can safely say that we will never even bother calling anyone else from now on.

First, what the hell is it that electricians seem to be so flakey lately?  The jobs are big right now so the money is awesome, and unless you have a 30,000 square foot new construction, and it's going to be tens of thousands of dollars, they don't even answer the phone, let alone return your calls (that was what we were experiencing!)

So, we gave these guys a call and Vince was out the very next day, was VERY thorough and professional, and looked at EVERYTHING to make sure it could safely be done.

He sent out one of his guys (Morgan, fantastic and so professional, courteous and clean-working!) later that week and we were in business.

I can't give them enough stars, or say enough good things about them.

I'm thinking of rewiring the entire house, and when I do, I have no doubt that these guys will be my go-to guys.

No more flakes for me.  These guys follow-through, return calls, show up when they say they will and on time--couldn't ask for anything more!

Excellent service and friendliness! I enjoyed the Service I received a month ago. Morgan and Ed were very knowledgeable and knew exactly what they were doing. They made sure everything was working properly and haven't had a single problem since, I would definitely call again if I ever need an electrician.

I first met Mark Schulkamp in 2004 when I was renovating my Oakland Hills kitchen. His crew provided 1st-rate work on the project.

But the real story happened later. I am a board member for Oakland Fund for the Arts, a small 501(c)3 that raises funds for arts educations programs in under-served Oakland public schools. There are some schools that are beyond under-served, like Hawthorne Elementary in West Oakland. Now a charter school, they had a ceramics kiln that OFFTA had paid for back in the late 1990s, but when the school became charter, the kiln ended up far from a power source in a basement.

I asked Mark if he could help us get power to the kiln in its new location. After some (probably endless) negotiation with OUSD, he sent over my favorite electrician (hi Vince!) who took care of everything. The kids at Hawthorne Elementary got back their ceramics kiln.

Mark never charged me a dime for this. Sometime later I figured out this is just the way he is. He has helped charitable institutions endlessly. That's just the way he runs his business.

In the last year I've used several contractors/suppliers for updating various parts of a 1980s condo - painter, fence repair, window repair, HVAC repair, general contractor and electrician. Schulkamp Electric stood out far above the rest (except for good HVAC guy) for everything. With them we got the rare combination of excellent workmanship, organization, creativity, timeliness and price.

I recently moved into a new house where none of the outlets were grounded properly (and a few other things needed fixing), which is kind of a big deal. So, after trying to get a couple of other companies to return my phone calls for a month, I found Shulkamp Electric Co on here and called them. They responded to me RIGHT AWAY and got me set up with the estimator the next day. The electricians came out after that quickly as well, on time, and did an EXCELLENT job. I'm planning on having a bunch more work done on the electrical system done, and I know who I'll be calling.

Mark W. Schulkamp Electric Company did an excellent job for us.  I would highly recommend this business.  

It is hard to hire a business without knowing someone in the industry, and I am more than satisfied with the work performed.  Mark's price was extremely reasonable, he was professional and extremely nice.  

He came up with a great idea that in the end will help my elderly mother, in the safety of her day to day living.  Our family will definitely call him in the future.

EXCELLENT! EXCELLENT!  Vince, Kevin and Arnold are very knowledgeable and know their stuff!  They are also very organized and efficient  and get the job done in a timely manner.
