This review is a long time coming. My house is old - like 90 years old. It's been remodeled a few times, but things wear out and go bad. For the first couple of years I lived in my home I used the plumber recommended by the previous owner. Every single thing those guys did would fall apart within a year. Then a colleague recommended I call Jose at JB Plumbing. He's been a godsend. He answers his phone. He shows up whenever I've had an urgent plumbing issue within an hour or two. He tells me what needs to happen and what it will cost, and he delivers. His work doesn't need to be fixed a year later.

This weekend when my main line was leaking, my first reaction was panic. Second reaction - call Jose. He was at my house within an hour, shut down the water and showed up the next day to fix the problem.

I've also had him work on the sewer line, my toilet and my water heater. Like I said - it's an old house.

I love that he works this as a family business too. Everyone at JB Plumbing is friendly and professional, and even my architect neighbor
said the work was amazing. Plus - there are women on this crew which is beyond awesome.

Our old water heater stopped working and Armando quickly responded to our needs, and replaced our water heater promptly and successfully. They dealt with the old water heater company as well to figure out whether it was under warranty. Will be using them again for our next plumbing needs.

They are so helpful and kind, they actually helped me solve my toilet flushing problem over the phone, it ended up being something simple which they were able to teach me. The woman I talked to over the phone was very helpful in figuring out the problem (unlike other company I called which didnt ask me any details and was probably going to try and charge me for new parts). Came promptly and did a rooting job that the smell good plumbers wouldn't do. Then, sent a camera along the pipe to pin down the source of the problem, which I don't think the other guy would have done. Charged a fair price, polite, friendly, and conscientious. This is our third time using JB plumbing. Highly recommended. We had toilets installed on their first visit, then we had a water heater installed. On this last visit, I was awakened early in the morning by running water. I discovered the leak was coming from the outside automatic sprinklers. When I tried the shut off valve to stop the water, the plastic shutoff broke off. I called Jose at JB and he offered to come out then, even though it was 4:30 in the morning! He then returned later to install a brass shut off valve and repair what was needed. Great to have a competent plumber if needed. Thumbs up to this business.

I have many many problems with the pipes in my very old house and they're always very determined to get to the bottom of any problem-- they're almost like pipe detectives! The units we manage starting backing up and exploded out into the backyard. We called JB on a Tuesday and they came out on the next morning at 9:30. They snaked the line and looked into the pipe with a camera. They identifed the problem in the line and provided options and two estimates to fix it. We intend to use them often! Saturday plumbing issues are never a good experience after hearing about JB plumbing and rooter from a friend I decided to give them a call. Jose rushed over on a late evening (8-13-13) didn't even charge me extra. In record time he got my toilet flushing and explained future maintenance tips so that I can save money on future visits. Kind people who do excellent work. They roto-rooted our drain last week and came back today to replace our entire sewer line, which was broken in several places. They clearly know what they're doing and explain things really thoroughly, which inspires confidence. They also give a detailed report of the work completed on the invoice. Jose came within the hour as he stated. Repaired a pipe behind dryer . The Gas Co had detected a leak after street work and couldn't turn on service until it was repaired. José repaired it within the hour maybe less .
I didn't bother to negotiate a price because it needed to be fixed and it was evening . A check of problem was $80. The first quote was $200 then went to $400. He replaced the line and a pipe that had another pipe in the elbow that didn't fit correctly .
My gas is back on. Kids can shower, we can eat and all things are back to normal. He made a long night of repair and Gas Co people bearable .

Our sewer line started back up into our shower and toilets on a Sunday afternoon. We called JB that afternoon and they arrived on Monday morning. They worked for a half day and diagnosed that there was a significant blockage in the sewer line which would require tackling it from outside the house. They returned at 7:30am on Tuesday, dug up our yard, disassembled the deck and replaced about 20+ feet of sewer line that was completely eroded and impacted. They then put the yard and deck back to exactly the same condition they found it, and by about 8:pm were done with the job. They could not have worked more diligently or with better communication. Pricing was entirely reasonable especially when you consider how thorough and professional they were. I hope we never have to do this again, but you couldn't go wrong by calling them. It was an amazing experience during such a difficult time. Can't say enough good things.

I have been using JB Plumbing for a number of years for various main drain clogs, major root issues affecting plumbing and smaller plumbing repairs. They are outstanding. Always cordial, professional, very reasonable and fair pricing and is almost always on time. If he is running late, he let's you know. I have used other plumbers and plumbing companies in the past and I was never very trusting if these companies. You want an excellent plumber who is fair and gets the job done-I would highly recommend Jose and JB Plumbing!

While we were getting the insulation redone in our new home, the foreman pointed out a questionable, duct-taped repair on one of the vent pipes in the attic. Called Jose and he was able to come out that afternoon. After poking around for a couple of minutes, he assured me that the pipes just needed to be glued together, and that it was a simple fix that I could do myself for a few bucks. I called JB Plumbing for installation of the seismic natural gas shut off valve.

Gece is very friendly and responsive. We immediately scheduled a diagnostic meeting.

Gece came to our house and explained clearly the process for installing the equipment, what equipment she is going to buy, and how the permit process works. On the spot, she gave us an invoice with her quote and the price is reasonable.

We quickly scheduled the day for work.

On the installation day, Gece and her team came and installed the seismic shut off valve very quickly. She showed us how to turn on the gas if it gets shut off. She also helped us turn on the stove and water heater afterwards.

Highly recommend JB Plumbing. They are friendly, reliable, and professional. They provide good quality service. We will definitely be recommending others to her business.

I had an issue with two sink clogs so I found JB Plumbing on Yelp and called them because of the positive reviews. I explained the issues and they were available to come out the next day (a Sunday). They came out on time (even gave a heads up when they were on the way) and resolved the issues quickly. They also provided some tips on how to maintain to prevent a recurrence. They are fantastic, such nice people and so knowledgable. They followed COVID safe precautions, and even took off their shoes for our house (asian household :D )

Our master shower and bathroom sink were clogged. They fixed both at a VERY reasonable price, and gave me great advice on how to maintain it since we are new homeowners.

I created a Yelp account just to give JB Plumbing a high rating- that's how pleased I am with the work they delivered last weekend! They delivered a quote on two major, long-overdue plumbing problems at my parents' home that beat the other estimates we'd been given. They showed up on time, followed COVID protocols, were super courteous and efficient (even during a sudden rain and hailstorm in Altadena!) and explained the project challenges clearly to my family. They fixed both problems, repatched the two walls they had to cut into and even cleaned out a roof gutter and patio drain gutter that became clogged during the storm! We were really pleased by the job- hopefully, my parents' home won't have anymore plumbing problems but if we do, JB will be our first call.

Armando is the man. We had our main sewer line out from the house backed up and called roto rooter. They came out and couldn't get it clear. At 6pm on a Friday I called JB And Armando said no problem, I can try a few things. He came over worked hard at it and with 2 hours it was cleared and we were back in business. Amazing grew! Gece is a boss! The work done by her and her crew was top quality. It's a 100 year old house and she was able to problem solve a few quirks that look great. She was even able to provide me with additional workmen I needed for the place.

This couple does a wonderful job in addressing emergency plumbing needs. I really appreciate their efficiency and thorough work as the situation that I was presented with required immediate. Once I had found out that I had a plumbing conundrum that had befallen me on at times a Saturday night I began to frantically call all plumbing numbers I could find in my area. After several messages. I received a phone call back described the problem and was told they could meet me in 30 MINUTES. OMG I was never offered that response time so I took it. They not only addressed the P-trap problem that was visual but also replaced the under the sink piping leaving it better than bWell it happened turn out well for everyone involved. Hopefully there college student in the family can make their parents proud some day.

We've been doing business with JB Plumbing and Rooting for a few years now and we are very happy with their work.

It all started when we were working on a DIY home project on a holiday weekend. We ran into a gas line and Jose came out and capped it for us that same day. Without his help, we wouldn't have finished our project on time.

Since then, we've had them install a whole house filter, a tankless water heater (with a bigger gas line), and a new water main. Again, we are very happy with their work. They also work neatly, are very courteous, and really go the extra mile when they work on projects at our place.

Listen. When your bath is slow to drain and suddenly your toilet starts bubbling and then the other toilet won't flush, and it's Friday at 8pm, you know you're in for an exciting evening. Husband found JB Plumbing on Yelp and they were here in less than 45 minutes! The whole family is incredible and I was so impressed with Jessie in particular - she really knows her stuff and has a calming, confident demeanor. We unfortunately had to have pretty major work done to the main line but they did it swiftly, expertly and efficiently - leaving no mess behind. Relieved to have this behind us, and while I hope we have no future plumbing issues, I know who to call if we do.

These guys came by at night for an emergency clog situation in our single toilet home. It turned out there was a root ball in the sewer right where it turns into the house. They couldn't get to it without a price bump I wasn't prepared for (for a more elaborate solution)... so I decided to wait til the morning and get another option. But these guys were honest and reliable, and didn't charge me anything for their time (even though I offered), which I really appreciated. JB Plumbing and Rooter are knowledgeable, highly skilled and tenacious. Our crawl space is compact, and crowded with old pipes, new pipes, footings, and way too much stuff for such a small space. Jose and Jesse were undaunted and dug out earth to get our extensive job done. We had a shoddy repipe done by hacks and they came in to help us literally dig our way out. Gas line fixed , hot water restored , we booked them for more work before they even left.

Late Saturday afternoon we discovered a bad leak under the house, shit happens, literally. I called for help and they showed up in about 15-20 mins. They did what they could on the first day and showed up bright and early the second day to finish the job. They were able to squeeze us in and provide excellent service from start to finish. All covid-19 protocol is followed by them. They have mask, gloves, even cover their shoes to walk inside the house if needed. They left the work area nice and clean. Better then before. A+ service. I appreciate the urgency and the sacrifice to come on Mother's Day. Will be calling them in the future for sure.

JB plumbing is fantastic! We had an leak of unknown origin in our driveway. The team came out in the evening, isolated the problem, came up with a plan, and then moved next day appointments around so that they could come back to our house and end our leak. The team explained everything to me, walking me through why it was happening, potential solutions, and fees. I am so grateful for JB Plumbing! I agree with other reviews that the costs are a bit higher (they charge for all consulting and that added up for our project) but I trust them and their work. Plumbing is not something you want to skimp on. I also love that Jessie is a female plumber! I have never met a female plumber and I love to support women in male dominated fields. Thes guys were TERRIFIC! They came out on a Sunday on 4th of July weekend and diagnosed the issue, found the problem, fixed it and put everything back together in a cpl of hours and at a very FARE price! I had a sump pump issues where someone flushed a huge amount of paper towels and it got jammed in the motor. They were friendly and easy to talk too and professional. A small family business that I'm glad I have found. Will definitely have in my phone next time something comes up.

I needed to replace the faucet and pipes in my bathroom because they were old and worn out due to extensive use. So, I reached out to JB Plumbing & Rooter. I had a discussion with their manager, and on the appointed day, the specialists arrived right on time. They carefully inspected the situation, provided an estimate, and explained the replacement process in a way that I could understand. The employees of the company were polite and friendly. After that, we agreed on the price, which was reasonable considering it had been a while since I had last renovated my bathroom. They completed the job quickly and with great quality. I'm satisfied with the result and I think I've become a loyal customer. I'll definitely recommend them to my friends.

Horrible service!

We had a plumbing problem. Jose from JB Plumbing had to come 4 times to repair. He could not fix it completely and we still have the same problem. He did not show up for a scheduled day after numerous complain. He quoted different price for the same repair job every time we called. His price quote is very inconsistent. We got very frustrated and called a different plumber. He fixed it with a fraction of the price we had to pay to JB plumbing. JB Plumbing is very unreliable and their service sucks!

Jose was responsive, very professional and arrived within the timeframe promised for an urgent plumbing need on a Sunday afternoon. He took care of the issue which was a clogged main line accessed through the clean-out and gave us some suggestions to repair / replace a custom toilet that had a broken part. We'll be contacting him again for our future plumbing needs and for annual maintenance to remove roots from our main plumbing line. He priced the repairs reasonably, didn't charge us extra for checking our piping with a camera and didn't try to upsell us for something we didn't need. A+ for excellent service and reliability. They came as a referral -- JB Plumbing aka Jesse and Jose Armando. I realized that I had not done my usual price pre-negotiations over the phone before they came over, but it was evident from seeing this sweet husband and wife team that they were good, honest, people. And they delivered in a big way. My water filtration system that I was all set to install myself -- cause, you know, I'm a man -- was out of my league. They were a couple challenges that would have left me huddled in a corner crying, but they navigated through them with great temperament and a smile. JB Plumbing is ready to meet your plumbing needs with their highly trained and experienced staff. JB Plumbing is led by Armando (master plumber with over 30 years of experience) and the wonderful Gece (pronounced Jessie).

JB has previously done a great job of installing a water line for our fridge, dishwasher and repairing broken pipes, we recently called them because our property was experiencing flooding due to the heavy rains. JB Plumbing was able to customize drainage solutions for our 1920's craftsman home in Highland Park. After the latest round of heavy storms, thanks to the work of JB Plumbing, we no longer have flooded muddy areas.

My experience has been that they are friendly, highly capable problem solvers, and always answer all of our questions. Every member of their team is such a knowledgeable and careful professional. It's so rare to meet a contactor who is as respectful of your home and property as JB Plumbing.

Gece is wonderful to speak with because she always takes care that her client understands the solution and listens to make sure that JB Plumbing meets your needs.
