Randy was the only one who figured out the flickering/pulsing problem in our home. We have called several
Electricians and even SDGE came to check the problem but they were not able to determine the source of the problem.  *Problem was on the SDGE unit outside our home.

What an amazing group of people to work with. They are honest, hard working and know their business. For any future lighting issues if my husband can't figure it out we trust the Goodmans. You can feel a peace in their presence and they always lookout for others best interests. I rarely leave reviews but this business is comprised of great, honest people which is a rarity these days.

We are very pleased and would highly recommend Goodman Electric to everyone !  We give them a 5 + Star rating.  Randy arrived early and replaced all our old outside lighting, added a ring security camera and new entry way lighting.  He completed the work on time and also added another light switch in our garage.  Randy is very knowledgeable and has many years of electrical experience.  We are now going to have him install an attic fan for us.

Had recessed lighting, interior and exterior outlets, a few new circuits, just a myriad of random upgrades we were in desperate need of. Pricing was transparent and competitive. They were the opposite of salesmen, advising me against spending money I didn't need to and giving me better options to save me from my own ignorant self.  They were also just nice, personable humans that I actually enjoyed having in my home. Will absolutely be my go-to as long as I live here and they're in business.

Randy did a great job squeezing me in during the crazy weather (and its associated weather-related electrical emergencies). He did a great job on our EV charger install. He was as concerned with it looking nice as he was with it functioning correctly. He did everything I asked for and was the least expensive of the three quotes I got.

Randy came and installed a 240V outlet in my garage for my EV. He showed up on time (even a bit early) and came ready to work. He did a very clean install and cleaned up when he was done. I would use him again if a I get another EV or just another project.

I couldn't be more pleased with the service and professionalism of Goodman Electric.   The office manager (Alecia) and the electrician (Randy Goodman) were good communicators, went out of their way to work around my schedule and did exactly why they said they would do, for the price they said it would be done.  

Randy installed a 220v dedicated line for my spa.   His quote was in the middle of the three quotes I received, but the attention to detail and the way he said the line would be installed was better than the other two quotes.   Randy said he would run the conduit through my garage and hide the line as much as possible and ensure that the junction box was at least 5 feet away from my spa (per code).   The other companies that quotes said they would run the line on the outside of my house and didn't seem to care as much about esthetics or safety.  

Randy worked quickly, showed up early for the job and was very friendly.    Highly recommend.

This is 5-Star plus!!!!!  Goodman Electric turned a two week nightmare with my electric system into a completely fixed project in about an hour.  After two weeks of misdiagnosed possibly this and possibly that from some of the others; and even receiving quotes of $5000-$10,000 to rewire the whole condo; some one even said it could be rats and would need to completely rewire. (it wasn't).  Goodman showed up this afternoon for a second opinion. In less than an hour,  he found the non-working wire in a hardwired smoke detector, fixed the problem; and at a charge of $160. Imagine how I felt when, AT LAST, I saw all the lights go back on in the back half of the condo!   If you have electrical issues and you want to use someone else;  ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION FROM GOODMAN!  You will be a happy camper like me.

Used Goodman Electric to hook up our hot tub since they were one of the recommended companies of the place where we bought the hot tub. We were able to schedule for the day after delivery.  Randy was on time, friendly, and did a great job.

If anyone needs any electrical  work done, I highly recommend Goodman Electric. They can accommodate any schedule and have the best rates in North County.

Randy installed a 240 outlet for my Tesla Model 3.  Very prompt and a clean job.  He went over all the details and options for me EV to save on cost.

Randy is Tesla's go to guy when Tesla's electrician mucks up an install.

Would highly recommend this business. They did a fabulous job of piping lines through an attic, install ceiling fans and bring power out to a gazebo. All this on a very hot day but they never complained. They even put up with all my questions throughout the day. Anyone who could do that is awesome in my eyes.

Randy's experience really comes through when troubleshooting electrical issues.  He knows what he's doing, is very professional, offers fair rates and does outstanding work.

Randy has always been professional, on top of his profession and readily available. This evening, while cooking dinner, my kitchen outlets failed. Went to the GFCI outlet and would not allow me to reset, went to the main panel and I could not reset the switches there. Texted Randy, pics included and within a couple hours, mind you I texted him at 5:30pm and didn't plan on hearing back from him until the next day, he called me back and taught me something new! Problem fixed and I learned something about breakers.

I asked for a price quote and availability for a simple job (hooking up the power to a jacuzzi) and never heard back from them. Even if they did not want to do the job or could not do the job, a courtesy response was in order.

They were on time, quick, professional and cleaned up. Would use them again. Made recommendations that improved my proposed upgrades/enhancements.

After messaging with other companies this was the only one that responded and scheduled in a timely manner. They were polite on the phone, showed up a little early and quickly fixed everything I needed done. Reasonably priced and overall great experience!!

Randy Goodman is a master Tesla electrician.  Having a fair amount of electrical knowledge myself I was amazed at how deep his EV charging knowledge goes.  This guy is absolute wizard and worked with me to find a location for my EV charger that will work with multiple vehicles and is aesthetically pleasing.  

Did I mention that he also came first thing in the morning on a Saturday?  Wizard.

Hired this company after a colleague recommended them.  We needed 20 can lights installed, with dimmers, and everything went great from the bid process through the install.  They were on time, VERY friendly, and did a fantastic job.  We're extremely happy with their work and the product they used.  They gave great suggestions that helped us make confident decisions throughout the process.  They were considerate, clean, and respectful in our home.  One of the greatest things....our 4 dogs loved them!  Weird to include in a review, I know, but our dogs always bark at people coming in our home and our dogs were very comfortable around them.  No barking!  We will definitely call them again for our next electrical needs, and we absolutely recommend them to everyone!

An update to my original review, and a comment in response to the company response.  
First, a written list of items to do, which included descriptions, brand names, and colors of fixtures, shouldn't be that difficult to follow.  Blaming the person who was at the house (who was not my roommate) only to allow the electrician access, rather than acknowledging a written list was provided, is a lazy cop-out.
Second, I did end up having another electrician in to take care of an unrelated issue, and he swapped the lights for me.  He also did some troubleshooting on the ceiling fan I had Goodman Electric install.  I did not mention in my original review that certain functions were not working on the ceiling fan (namely the dimmer and timer functions), but I did mention those to Randy when I spoke with him on the phone originally, when I was talking with him about the lights being installed in the wrong locations.  He maintained that it was not his problem, and was probably a function not supported by my fan (in spite of the book and the box stating that model had those functions). He grudgingly agreed to troubleshoot it when he came out to swap the lights (which he never did).  
When the other electrician took the various lights down to swap them, he asked me who had done the install, and if I had paid for it, because it was sloppy work.  He had no skin in the game, and there was no benefit to him to bad-mouth anyone, I didn't even share names.
There were loose (as in not attached to anything) screws in the housing on one of the lights and the ceiling fan, screws were stripped in two of the three fixtures, the mounting plate on the ceiling fan was bent, it was not properly secured to prevent the fan from rocking at higher speeds, and the mechanism that controls the dimmer and timer function was damaged.  So, either these were items that were damaged and/or defective when the fan was unboxed, or they were damaged during the installation.  So either I was not informed that the item I purchased was damaged when it was unboxed, and it was installed anyway (which is uncool), or it was mishandled during installation, damaging a $350 ceiling fan.  I ended up purchasing a replacement ceiling fan (same make and model), which was installed by someone else, and amazingly enough the nonexistent led dimming and timer functions now work.  Based on the findings by the other electrician subsequent to the original install, and the company's response, I think even less of them than before.

I highly recommend Goodman Electric. Alisha Goodman is very responsive to my question and Randy Goodman did a very good job installing a 240 outlet for my car charger. I would definitely hire this company again for future projects for my house

I contacted Goodman Electric and spoke with Alicia, Randy's wife.  She asked very specific questions about what I needed and I sent pictures of the area in my home for light fixture replacement.  Randy arrived at my home right on time and completed the job in about three hours for a very reasonable rate.  Other electricians quoted me as much as five times the amount that Randy charged me (they obviously quoted me a ridiculous figure to price themselves out of the job).  When I need an electrician, Goodman electric is the company that I am going to call in the future.

Randy at Goodman Electric did an excellent job installing new breakers, breaker panel and running the 120 ft+ of electrical wire. He showed up on time, had a great attitude and got the job done quickly and efficiently. I hire a lot of contractors and Randy is at the top of the list for professionalism and expertise. I would definitely hire him again.

Randy installed a EVSE this week and I am extremely satisfied with his work. Great knowledge, on time, good price, worked well with me and my family, and did exactly what I asked and hoped he'd do. He even improved some marginal work done by previous projects.

Terrific contractor in every way.  Alicia was on top of scheduling and bidding.  Bid was very competitive.  Randy arrived exactly on schedule.  He installed a NEMA 14-50 electrical outlet in my garage, a 50 amp circuit breaker for my EV, and routed conduit/wiring.  Works like a charm.  Not only is Randy very experienced with such installations, he is also just a very friendly, accommodating contractor.  Also, his work passed city inspection (Carlsbad) with no problems.  Very professional work.  I would strongly recommend Goodman Electric.

Randy is a real pro.  He has done some work for our HOA and his work is top notch.  I contacted him to install some LED lights on my porch.  A total pro and he did the job fast and offered a few ideas of how to prevent failure of the lights in the future.  He is honest, efficient, his prices are fair and I would not hesitate to recommend his company...his wife handles the office duties and she is a real sweetheart...such a pleasure on both sides.  If you I could give 10 stars ...I would.  Great service...kudos.

Our lights went out in a section of the house and he narrowed it down to one circuit breaker in the panel that failed.  You couldn't even tell it was fried, unless you removed it and saw the melting on the internals.  It was old and that's what happens over the years.  He also replaced a couple outlet receptacles.

After reading a less than positive review concerning Randy I was compelled to elaborate on my experience with Goodman Electric and Randy in general.  

I was relocating from California to Colorado and needed electrical projects completed in order to fulfill the new resident's contractual wishes.  The three major projects involved troubleshooting and rewiring two old fashion decorative style street lamps in our backyard, replacing the water pump in our front yard fountain and lastly rewiring an electrical mess another certified electrician created when adding new breakers to the box.  Randy bought all of the materials needed for the repairs prior to showing up for the job- including the pump for the fountain.  He charged me less for the parts than I could have purchased them and he pointed out a code infraction (1 of the breakers was not the correct brand for my breaker box).
I felt like I received the family discount when I was treated more than fair with the price.  Less than $261 for all of the work including the pump.   All was completed in one day while I was out of town.  Everything was left in perfect order.  Randy even sent me pictures of the fountain working to perfection.  

I'm now embarrassed that I didn't take the time to tell the whole story.  I'm glad I ran across his last communication with me that prompted me to reread what I wrote- Randy's message to me was a thank you for the original review.

I met Randy earlier this year when I upgrade my electric panel. He took his time to explain the pros and cons of different panels  and provided lots of information about installation process; however, due to SDGE mix-up I ended up hiring another electrician for the job. I have the upmost respect for his professionalism and customer service and this is one of my preferred vendor.

I was referred to Goodman Electric by California Closets, who have used him for their closet lighting solutions for a decade or more. Finding a good contractor in San Diego is always hit or miss and he has come to work at my house 2 times now and I was impressed impressed with his work both times. He's punctual, communications with his office are good, he charges very reasonably and takes smaller jobs, and he is just a genuine, cool, trustworthy and professional man.  I'm in La Jolla but he takes work through most of San Diego. Highly recommended.

Very honest!! My schedule is very hectic without an hour of free time. They scheduled their time to fit with mine. Randy and his son Luke arrived at 7:45 on a Saturday morning for an 8:00 am appt. I appreciate promptness, so I was immediately happy. Randy and Luke installed 3 fans needing electrical hookup and one fan as a light replacement. In 3 hours, Randy installed all 4 fans: cutting holes, mounting electrical boxes and running romex, and Luke helped out as needed. I was very happy with the father and son team that installed my fans. I highly recommend their service. They were prompt, worked hard and did a great job. I'm enjoying the new airflow in my house.

Randy Goodman was great. He installed our ceiling fan remote, he installed our light fixture, and figured out some of the switches. But I was kind of disappointed he didn't figure out one of them. But hey, 5 out 6 ain't bad :)

Clearly a company that has their act together.  Arrived on time.  Had the stuff on the truck to do the job.  They saw what they needed to do, did it right and gave me an invoice that was very, very fair.  I plan to use them again for other electrical work in my home.

Quick service, incredibly honest, great job!  I called Randy because my front porch lights were flickering, wouldn't turn off, and one bulb blew when I screwed it in.  Thought I needed to rewire.  Notwithstanding I told him all of that, he informed me I just couldn't use LCDS with my timer switches and just needed to change the bulbs.  Hard to find anybody that honest these days. While he was here he added an outlet outside which was quick, inexpensive, and very well done.

I can't say enough about Goodman Electric. I came home from work last month when all that very hot weather and humidity hit us. My breaker box had a complete melt down and a fire inside the box. i had no power. I called Goodman Electric. Rand came out in less than an hour. I was up and running a half hour later. He still had to come back the next day because of the amount of damage. Randy had to replace the Buss and all the breakers and rewire the box. Randy helped me work with my insurance company to get all the information they needed to cover the loss. I wish i could put photos of how bad this was. I'm lucky my house didn't burn down. randy had it all under control in a short time. Funny thing my electric bill is now the lowest it's ever been.

Randy installed a new 220 breaker for our swim spa project.  Randy and his crew Doug and Nick were great guys to have working in our home.  Project was completed as planned by a professional team!  Would hire them again and again without seeking a second quote!

If you need an electrician - call Randy. He is a real pro and can handle any issue. Plus, he is nice, courteous, on time and affordable. He fixed 4 problems in my home in about one hour - I wish I had called him sooner!
