We made an appointment a month ago for them to come out and clean our HVAC prior to turning on our heater.   We had a 2 hour window appointment.  He called prior to narrow down the appointment and to let us know he was on his way.  All this was great.  However, when he arrived he turned our heater on and explained the service was in depth and there were extra costs.  My husband said he called to have our heater cleaned and that was the reason for the appointment.  The serviceman said that is an extra cost to clean.  The $79 was for an evaluation.  We are now in search of an HVAC company that will honor what their advertisement says.  I called to let Gilmore know they need to be clear with what they advertise to meet the customers expectation.  The manager I spoke to told me 2-3 times he appreciated my feedback.  I did not get from our conversation he cared or really heard what I said.

I paid almost $25,000 for a new system 2 months ago upon the inspection by Citrus Heights County they found they put a 40 watt breaker and it should be a 50 wat breaker one person came out and said 40 was enough and left then they talked to the inspector and he said it needs a 50 and Larry came out today took under 15 min and said he was finished. So 5 hours later and my house is HOT it is over 100 outside and friday and my system is offline not working and I am told it  might be Monday before they can out nothing they can do.  VERY VERY disappointed in this service it was working when he arrived.

When I discovered my sewer had broken and after I discovered that time and age both worked against me to do the repair, I turned to Angi for quotes. After 2 insane cost and 1 no show I decided to ask Hilmore for a quote. They sent Johnny out and he climbed down to review the scope and gave a reasonable cost for the repair.  Johnny came out when he said he would and charged what we agreed to. Johnny's honest look and approach has earned my business for all my future plumbing and HVAC.  It is hard these days to trust a person or company to do what they say and follow through.  Johnny was refreshing and great to have work on my repair.

I contacted them, placed on hold listening to you get more with Gilmore' talking points. All they could tell me is that parts were ordered. No clue if we expect them in a week or a month. This just goes from bad to worse.

Don't hire this company..they will say they are doing an inspection for free then after they fix your problem (mine was the thermostat) which I knew was broken...they told me if I paid for their one year maintenance program for $500 then the inspection would be free. When I said I did not want the maintenance program they then said well we have to charge you for the inspection, so for them to JUST replace my thermostat (which should only been $75) I ended up paying $550. They are a rip off!!!

We recently had them come out to do a tuneup for two units. The gentleman came out and ended up needing $2000 per unit repairs plus another $4000 repair that should be done sooner than later. They also scheduled an appointment to do the repairs without talking to us. I ended up having A second opinion and all that was necessary were two capacitors they need to be changed. I ended up spending a little less than $100 to have the two units back operating properly. Shame on you Gilmore and sending a tech who had the balls to make up readings to say that our unit needed to be repaired and or changed. Be advised that these technicians are paid to up charge and make the necessary repairs to pad their pocketbook. I would never use these people ever again and if you find this review pregnant please pass it along. Oh by the way, it cost me $258 for this aggravation.

I called Gilmore because I have a water leak in the attic space above my shower. They asked if I knew where exactly it was leaking. I said I did not, that is why I was calling to have someone find the leak and fix it. They told me to call a leak detection company and then call them back to fix it.

Absolutely worthless.

I had an HVAC unit installed and serviced by them at my old house and their technicians did good work, but they were always trying to up sale me a new unit because of this or that. I will never call them again for anything.

Worst HVAC company I've worked with. They cancelled 2 appointments within the same week. First was a no show, then second was cancelled because we missed a phone call asking for payment BEFORE service. Called back within 5 MIN of the call, gave them my card info and the tech already left. Dispatch refused to send them back once they left. Never been so disgusted with customer service in my life!

Not happy with Gilmore.  They don't tell you in advance that you can't use your credit card unless they can charge you 5% surcharge.   The guy told me that that is what the credit card company charges them to run a card.   I knew that statement was a lie!!! With the volume they do, I know that's not what they would get charged by credit card company.   I wonder if it's because they do shady work and using a credit card, you can dispute the charge.

I call Gilmore Heating, Air and Plumbing to disconnect my air conditioning unit on the back of my house so I could complete some work on the siding. They quoted me $2808.00 to disconnect and another $2808.00 to reconnect. Over $5600 to complete the work (a pump down). A completely ridiculous quote. If they did not want to complete the work, then just tell me.

Terrible phone customer service!!!!.  We honestly had great service when Gilmore technicians came out to install our new system.  But follow up customer service was and has been GARBAGE! The ladies answering the phones suck at their job!  Absolutely terrible service!  Their tone, their attitude shows me that obviously dislike their job!!   This was the 4th time we called to try to get our second inspection done since March.  It's been on hold because of Covid. ...covid is NOT going away, so if you can waltz into my house to have the new unit installed you can come back to my house with all the right PPEs to complete the inspection!!!
We also wanted to get our freon levels checked which is due 6 months post installation.  And guess what?!?! The earliest appointment they have is in November!! it's so disappointing to have spent a lot of money on a new HVAC unit to get terrible customer service!

I had them come out 8 months ago and the problem was never solved I was charged over $800 dollars. For nothing they tech told me he had to go up and clean the air conditioner with water hose and it would take up to two hours I timed it and it took like 10 minutes I was livid and sadly he stated it may not fix the problem after I was charged plus he replaced a part that didn't need replaced allegedly.

At the end of the day I still had no air when he left and felt ripped off. Now it's summer again  I called a repair guy out he fixed the problem and I only needed refrigerant, something that could have been done the first time the guy can put but wasn't, the refrigerant was extremely low something the first tech didn't catch he essentially went fishing to charge me and outstanding fee for nothing. I didn't bother calling out another technician since it was close to fall and would not have to worry about air until this summer.  Well a new air conditioning company fixed the problem Service Champion's although pricey they got the job done and I have cold air ...

I see all the terrible ratings these guys get.  Not surprising I guess.  My issue is the work they were doing today in the neighborhood.  I come home and they are blocking my driveway with their large van/truck.  And it is not like there are not nearby places to park (CA license number 11383C3).  I have had surgery and this completely screws me up.  No idea where they are working, but was pretty sure it is not my next door neighbors who are teachers with their cars gone.  I am in a wheelchair to get around in that am recovering from a serious knee surgery.  So this is a major inconvenience (and increased risk of falling) for me.  Turns out the guy was working across the street and down a bit (zero cars parked in front of that house).  Maybe 20 minutes later he came out of that house.  Even at that point, he got in the truck and sat there for maybe 7-8 minutes until I yelled at him.  Not a good look Gilmore.

I used Gilmore Heating, Air and Plumbing to replace my furnace. Which they did, and they did a good job.
However, the problem lies with their Gilmore's Service Club Membership Program in which they charge $19.50 per month. They are supposed to come out 2 times per year.  Once for the furnace and once for the A/C.  Most of their interest has been with the A/C unit, which they did not replace/repair. They have charged me $240 additional to do testing on it.
Then, over the last 2 months, I have scheduled them to come out to do their service.  I have taken time from work, only to be called last minute, they have to cancel and reschedule. The second time, on April 14th, they called me two separate times to push the appointment back two hours each time. I told them to cancel the appointment and cancel their service program.  They called me back and left a voicemail message advising they would refund 6 months of my service and reschedule at a time which was convenient for me, when I called them back.  ...The times I scheduled were not convenient to begin with, but I took time off work to be home!  This morning, while checking my banking, I noticeed I have another $19.50 charge for their Service on April 24th. Ten days after, I told them to cancel!  And no so-called refund was ever received.  This morning, I sent them an email, with screenshots of their texts to me, and my advising them to cancel and stated I would be sharing this on Yelp. My advice: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

This company is pathetic and the only smile I had was one of total disbelief...my AC is out so I scheduled an appointment to get it fixed...their first availability was over a week out but I agreed on the date and they gave me a 3 hour time window that day. A week without AC goes by and I'm waiting for them to show up for 3 hours, no one shows...I call them and they tell me they are not able to repair the unit that I have. Absolute worst customer service & incompetence I've experienced in recent memory. I will NEVER call them again and if anyone ever asks me about this company I will be sure to share my experience.

i bought a havc in 2020 , I used the ac one summer.  the ac does not work .
changed the fuse and breaker still not working.  Called Gilmore 5 times never a call back.  I just asked for the warranty for my ac.  I am still paying for it.
Customer servers is the worst. I am on hold now. and they talk about happy customers.  We ll I am not happy at all with them. Please look for someone else  when you purchase .

I just had a technician, Joe, come out to inspect my unit and must say the entire experience with Gilmore Hearing and Air, from scheduling my appointment to, confirming, to the actual inspection was some of the best customer service I've experienced. The team at Gilmore and Air is very efficient and personable. Joe went above and beyond in his inspection and explaining what is going on with my unit and the potential options moving forward. I felt in good hands and would recommend to anyone needing hearing and air services. They also offer a club membership discount prices for those interested in yearly maintenance.

We started out great. Our air conditioner was put on in 2007 and we looked for a maintenance service to ensure the unit was maintained and in good working order. We chose Gilmore. At first everything seemed okay but on our last service call we were told we were leaking coolant. Not being afraid to go on the roof myself I went up to see the leak but service person couldn't find it in front of me. Becoming suspicious I asked a friend who worked with another air conditioning service and he showed me were a valve had been loosened that created a slow leak which explained why they charged me a $162.00 to fill coolant. Meanwhile Gilmore was encouraging me to buy their air conditioner unit which they could put in for the same price as the unit I had put on the roof in 2007. It turns out according to my friend I just needed the valve that was loosened to be replaced not requiring a whole new unit. Be careful Gilmore is overstocked with new air conditioners and opened a new location in Antelope so they are trying to make up for the cost of overstock and expansion by deceiving customers.

Drivers need to be more safe and courteous. Truck with license plate ending in 9N3 was literally within one car length of me, going 60mph downhill on westbound US 50, from the Bass Lake Road on-ramp. I was in the slow lane, too. Not good, Gilmore.

Our HVAC was 28 years old. Gilmore served our system for about 5 years. The system finally gave out. They got us back up and running during a heatwave. We opted to replace the system. They gave us several options and provided us with reviews on what installers and consumers said about different equipment. The replacement took a day to complete, as expected. We now have a new reliable HVAC system. We hope this one lasts 28 years too. Thank you Gilmore Team, you did a job well done and we appreciate it.

Gilmore has been the company my landlord uses for our home  for the past 7+ years. They have always been in time, respectful and helpful. Hmmm. I see the less favorable reviews here but that has NOT been my experience at all. Joe has been our service technician and I only have amazing things to say about him. Joe is welcome to come and inspect my unit anytime!!

wouldn't ever call them for service again! tech told me to call the manufacturer of my water heater to find parts, didn't do a damn thing to help me. 10 minutes he was at my house, not one solution to what the problem was, he just wanted to leave! if I could rate Gilmore from a 0-10 based on experience I would put a -10!

Go back to the old fashion ways of doing commercials and advertise what you do because dancing to tik tok is a waste of time.

in the past year I had some work done with Gilmore, even purchased one off their yearly service plans but now, when I have a leak at the AC that has caused some water damage they just flat refused service!  what a load of toilet water!  I'm appalled at this. what's more, the service guy that came out last month for the yearly inspection of the AC unit should have caught the leak because I've had two people, one a leak inspector, say it was QUITE OBVIOUS!  In my time of need they just bailed.   so much for treating their customers like family!

They called us on August 6th with a lame excuse and that they needed to rebook our appointment and asked if I had time to do that? One of my A/C units stopped working. Tech from Gilmore came out and told me that mu unit was DEAD! I needed a whole new heat pump unit. Ballpark...14000.00
Trusting his certification and knowledge, ( dumb me) I decided to at least get several bids. This morning, the  first company came out and looked at the system.....he had it fixed in 5 minutes. He told me that it wasn't ANYTHING that I had been told by Gilmore tech. This company tech fixed it and didn't even charge me.
GILMORE IS A RIP OFF!!! DO NOT USE THEM. I will be contacting the BBB and filing a complaint with them.
Gilmore never gave me an invoice, or anything for what they charged me to come out initially. No receipt, nothing. GILMORE is just another sacramento area RIPOFF, incompetent HVAC business. STAY AWAY.

10 years ago I noticed we weren't getting heat.  A friend of mine recommended Gilmore.  When they came they.showed us pictures of the heating and air systems that we had.  I am surprised we didn't catch a fire!  So, we purchased all new equipment with a 10 year warranty. EVERY YEAR they inspect our equipment and show us pictures of the work they did.  Since my wife is an asthmatic and they recommended a extra part to ionize the air.   They didn't try and sell us more expensive parts just what we  needed.  This year our water heater needed to be purchased and their rate and professional service put a new one in.  They sent an inspector to check the heater but went beyond and checked the entire house for smoke and carbon monoxide.  SO, if you want quality, professional work, and a company is a!says available, go with Gilmore.  One last comment, the secretaries have always been kind and supportive making us feel we are important to them as well.  Thank You.

We hear your commercials everyday about your $59 maintenance  offer....really, you should be more in tune with what really goes on.  You hire these reps to upsell to customers like us with 20 year old  units, explain that there is a leak in the coil and promptly send me an  estimate for $1000 plus to recharge the system or buy a new a/c unit.   Preferably buy a new one....he set up the appt. while he was here.
Your  repair person DID NOT repair my system and we are very disappointed. I  called a local ac repair person in Fair Oaks that promptly fixed our  leak and recharged the system for $500. Please let me know if your  advertising is just talk or you're really concerned about making us  happy that we spent money with you for nothing.

Watch out for the FREE 18 mo Financing they offer - at the end of the Meeting for my Quote - I was told the FREE FINANCING actually costs $39.95 which I pay the Financing Company! So - It's actually NOT FREE.  When I refused to pay the fee to start the Free Loan process - Sales person lost it!  He picked up all his paperwork and basically ran out the front door and Slammed the DOOR!  This was the very 1st time I have Contact Gilmore  for work to be done as their TV ad seems like they are so helpful !  I will not contact them again!

Called on June 12th 2023 for air conditioning service.  first available appointment was  July 7th.  booked appointment and on the morning of the 7th, they call and tell me they won't be out until the 11th of July.  Totally unacceptable.  this company is NO LONGER owned by the Gilmore family.  sold to a bigger company that's not even located in Sacramento.  Would NOT recommend this company for ANYTHING.  Needless to say, I found another company for my needs.  I would give this company a negative star if one was available.

I would not use Gilmore Heating, Air and Plumbing. I have had nothing but issues with this company. I have made multiple attempts to speak to the install manager over the past 2.5 weeks and never have received a return call. Many issues, some I was overlooking, but now my NEW UNIT doesn't work and the technician who came stated it is an install issue and he can't fix it. I have many, many documented examples of issues with them, too much to type. DO NOT USE THEM. They do not know what they are doing.

We had Gilmore install solar and a whole house generator 2 years ago.  The solar was done right away and everything went smoothly, but the generator did not get installed for months. I finally had to call and get a bit testy with them and suddenly we got on the schedule. We had no problems for about a year, then the generator would not start.  We called Gilmore and they said they would have someone call us back.  We never heard back, so my husband checked and it was low on oil (Gilmore was supposed to be monitoring this with the WiFi set up). We called again, but no calls back, so we just researched it and bought the correct oil and did it ourselves.  Fast forward to December 2021 and the big snow storm. A tree fell and hit the generator, crushing the lid and the side of the housing.  The generator kept running despite the hit.  Once we shoveled out enough to inspect things, we called Gilmore to have a tech come out and check the generator and order replacement parts. We were told that Gilmore was no longer supporting generators or solar systems.  This was news to us!!!!  We never received a letter, email, or phone call letting us know this information, so basically we were on our own.  My husband reached out to Heather, ( who was our contact at Gilmore), but she never returned his calls, despite leaving several messages.  We are not happy with the way this was handled.  The customer service has been poor and communication has been sorely lacking!  I would not recommend this company.

The installers are great but the guys that maintain it are not- who wants a 25 year old arguing with you in your own living room and then blaming you, shit call your supervisor if you are confused I didn't install it. Wish I went with someone else.

My dad who is elderly, recently wanted to get his AC serviced. He's owned his home for about 15 years and never had it done which he told the tech who came to the home for inspection. You should be able to be honest about things like that without worrying about getting ripped off. The tech told my dad that he needed to replace the fan/motor on his unit which was going to cost $1200. My dad has always been very active and hands on but he wasn't able to crawl up into the attic and take a look for himself so he trusted the person who was at his home to do that for him. When the tech came to replace the items he said were broken, my dad asked him if he could bring down the old parts so he could take a look. When the guy was finished he said he didn't bring them down because he was leaving them up there for the next person who came to service the AC. My dad signed up for a contract with them to come out and get it serviced regularly. He thought it was strange that after he requested the old items to be brought down, the tech left them up there. My husband and I went over to my dads a few days later, my husband got up into the attic and brought the old parts down and they looked brand new; they weren't even dusty. We all know looks can be deceiving, just like this company appears to be trustworthy- so my husband tested everything and it ran beautifully. Everything the tech had described as being wrong with motor wasn't being displayed when we tested it. Of course we got an additional opinion from a professional in this field who confirmed my dad had been ripped off. My dad called them immediately and they sent a manager out who backed up the original statement and diagnosis and offered no apology, no refund and no remorse. I went to their instagram today and noticed they are veteran owned. That is nothing but a tactic to entice people who support the military or know someone who has served which is a good majority of the population. This veteran owned company took advantage of an elderly man who is a Veteran. An elderly man who is a Veteran that has multiple different types of cancer from his service. An elderly man who is a veteran who because of his cancer, had to have metal plates to keep his head onto neck after a tumor ate away at all of his vertebrae. A man who because of that surgery no longer has the ability to turn his head without turning his entire body therefore limiting his range of motion. A cancer survivor who had to get his entire jaw removed and replaced because of the the multiple myeloma from serving in the military, working on the airplanes that sprayed agent orange. A man that is disabled from being in the military so he can no longer get into the attic and service his AC himself which is something he could and would have done had he been healthy and able. Before his cancer he could do absolutely anything and this company has taken him for a fool because he looks old and talks with a lisp due to his cancer from again.....serving in the military. Some Veteran Owned company this is. Do not give them your business, do not refer your elderly parents or grandparents to this business, do not support them simply because they appear to be family oriented and Veteran Owned.

I was a regular Gilmore customer. So I called them when my heat pump started making grinding noises.  At that time, they charged $50 just to diagnose.  The technician arrived.  The heat pump was running.  Without even seeing it, he heard it from a distance and said, Yep, it's the compressor, and charged me $50!  He didn't even have to lift a screwdriver!  Yes, he had the right to charge me but Gilmore advertises that they strive to Do what's right for the customer.  In this case, doing the right thing would've been to waive the charge -- to promote good customer relationships.  I've not used them since.

I have called Gilmore Heating and Air for 1 year trying to get off their mailing.  If they want to keep is what they say when you call take me off your mailing list for the 20th time!!!!!

They did not honor our warranty and they did not fix our air conditioner, they just  took our money pretending that they fixed it and instead it did not work and want us to buy a new system

Cancelled our appointment after waiting 3 weeks and 4 hours the morning of the appointment- they never called never emailed anyone. Worst service ever! Our clients are beyond angry as they were out of the country and hired somebody to open the door and meet them!

Gilmore replaced our air conditioner over a year ago. They were quick to put the new system in and charged for a building permit. They never followed up with the city I live in to have the system signed off. The new unit doesn't cool the house at all. We set the thermostat at 70 and house never gets below 80 degrees. Bathrooms and bedrooms don't get any air at all. Been trying to get them to come back and look at the issue for over a year. Terrible follow up, horrible company.

With the advent of the new rebates and incentives for efficient heating and cooling systems, I looked into rebates and found that they are tied to using a company for installation, and that Gilmore is specifically called out for doing these new services to get the rebates. So I called and asked about installing a new ductless heat pump, started with split mini and then asked about a standard ductless. While polite the person on the phone did not sound like he knew what I was asking for and replied with a flat no they will not do those. After asking a few more times he said it was a temporary cease but no time window of when they would restart. He said that due to manpower of installation split minis aren't being installed, which confuses me as most sources say they can be installed in an hour. He suggested I look elsewhere and start over from scratch when I responded to one suggestion that the rebate lookup for this specific service directly brought me to them. As I still do not feel confident he actually knew what I was asking for, other than to tell me no look somewhere else, I do not feel like I would have ANY confidence with working with this company.

GILMORE ...THESE GUYS ARE JUST SALESMEN!!!
I was so PISSED off from my previous service from gilmore  with how they tried to rip me off...they LIED to me and told me I needed a whole new system of 12 to 14 grand.  They go to your unit...they take a bunch of pictures...they say this is wrong and this is wrong and they lie to you...
gilmore are just salesmen...that's it!!!

So I called my Home Shield and they sent me to these guys...

COACHES HVAC EXTRAORDINAR saved me sooooo much money. Stevan went up on my roof to my HVAC unit...found the problem...took out the bad part...showed me how it failed... replaced the part...and bingo...
I'm back in cold air and no longer scared about money I don't have.

Do not use this company!  Called them for a routine AC tuneup.  The tech may have spent 20 minutes doing the service. When he came in, he said he had good and bad news.  The good news is that the AC looked good.  Bad news was a cracked heat exchanger.  We asked how much to fix, and he said $6000 to $8000 dollars or $18,000 to $30,000 for a new unit.  Ours is only 8 years old.  He never asked us if we still had a warranty or anything.  We called another company, and they came out and said we do have the cracked heat exchanger, but we also have many issues with the AC too.  They took pictures and showed us.  Also, they said the tech from Gilmore did not clean the coils or the spider webs and other debris that is usually cleaned up.  It looked like nothing was done.  Also, we were told the Gilmore tech shut off our gas, which we were not told.  The good news is we are having the repairs made by a company that took the time to explain everything and gave us several options.  None of them cost as much as Gilmore tech indicated.  Waste of my $89!

We had GREAT experiences with the heating and air division, however the plumbing experience has not been positive. We bought a new sink which was installed with an error in cutting our counter so new counters had to be put in. Gilmore did the right thing and was paying for them. Getting this done, though, has proved to be a major issue. It is now August 9th and we've been trying to get them installed correctly since the end of April! Chanse, the contact I have been given, does not communicate clearly or honestly and so we have finally settled this by taking an inadequate amount of money to do this work ourselves. I'm so sad this experience has really colored our feelings about Gilmore as we had such huge respect for them before. Their ad about legacy made sense until recently! Check out the photos.
