Yevgeny installed a ceiling lamp in our dining room area in 2016 - we were very happy with his professionalism and expertise then, and my husband posted a positive review soon thereafter.

I'm following up now, 7 years later, because Yevgeny deserves my positive review too. It was time to replace the lamp in our dining room. A good family friend who is a certified electrician just today replaced the lamp that Yevgeny installed. Our family friend curiously asked us who installed the lamp originally, because he was very impressed with the wiring in the ceiling that Yevgeny did. He said you can always tell if someone did a good job from looking at the wiring.

Thanks Yevgeny for a great job!! Also you might not recall - you very kindly gave us a discount. The lamp was hard to install due its shape and style, and it took a long time to install it, but you accommodated our cost expectations. Thanks so much again!

We recently had a problem with our kitchen faucet that needed to get replaced right away. I called General SF with no hopes to have a technician over the same day. To my surprise, Yevgeniy was over in less than two hours. He carefully inspected our kitchen plumbing and faucet, explained in detail what happened and offered different replacement options. When we chose what we wanted, he went to get the part, came back shortly and completed the installation flawlessly.

Needed a water heater replaced in our multi-unit building. During the work, we identified the other water heater was also leaking and likely to fail in the near future. We had a leak under our sink from a corroded pipe and Yevgeny was able to come out on short notice, on a Sunday no less.

He was very knowledgeable and competent, and explained to us the tradeoffs associated with the different options (e.g. replacing one section vs. multiple sections). He obviously cared a lot about making sure the problem was solved in a high-quality way.

Once we made a decision, he was able to fix the issue in an hour and a half (he brought all the parts needed), as well as test to make sure there was no more leakage. He even took Venmo!

All in all, it was a terrific experience and we would absolutely call him again if another issue arises. Thanks, Yevgeny!

When I had a home power outage on a Sunday, Yevgeny was there to help. I needed a complete electrical panel upgrade from an old 30 amp system to a modern 200 amp one. There is a reason the General SF has 252 five star reviews. It was all around a really great experience. We had some water damage from the storm in October that needed to get fixed, I was concerned there was mold growing and that it wouldn't be safe for my Family. Yevgeny came by that day to take a look at it, he explained what was going on and reassured me that our house was safe for our family. He spent about an hour looking at the issue and a few other things. He was so thorough and honest we decided to have him fix our issue.

Which was an excellent decision, he is a perfectionist and does incredible work. Not only that but he wants you to be happy and works with you to make sure that whatever he is doing meets your expectations. Not only that but he is kind, patient, and will take the time to answer your questions... no matter how many you have.

We will 100% hire him to do any work that is needed in the future.

The first thing that is important is the customer-service orientation that was demonstrated by Yevgeny. He made me feel comfortable and like I was a valued customer from the moment that we met. Had high hopes after seeing all the positive reviews here. Contacted Yevgeny via phone and told him what I need done and asked if he was able to help. He asked for photos and things seemed promising. After a couple of texts about the project (installing an exterior security camera with wiring needing) I never heard back from him again. I don't know if my project was too small on the scale of electrical work and not worth it or what, but would have been nice to have some follow up and/or follow through. I'm the one paying for service so I won't follow up and chase you down for work if you don't want it. First impressions do make or break deals.

Last week our heating system just up and quit working, just in time for a cold snap in SF (and we live in the Sunset, so you know it's cold in early March). Yevgeny from GeneralSF came out to the house at 7:35P that night (!) and figured out that the motor needed to blow heat through the house has died.

Unfortunately, he said, the needed part was on back order and not expected to be available until March 23.

(Did I mention this happened on March 3rd? Did I mention cold?).

Two days later Yevgeny called to say that he made some calls, did some research, and was able to secure the part needed. He was back at the house within the hour and, ten minutes later - we had heat again on March 7th!!

Yevgeny was fast, smart and got the job done. I would highly recommend him to anyone!

The power of my parents' home went out with the recent rain storm. I called GeneralSF to schedule an appointment. Yevgeny showed much care and concern for my elderly parents and kindly went to their home within an hour's time to assess their situation. He was able to quickly provide the possible explanations for their power outage. Rather than recommending his professional services, he first suggested that my parents call upon PGE to do a service call (free of charge) to check their power lines. Yevgeny was right. PGE came and ended up changing out the power line from the electrical pole to the house. This saved my parents thousands of dollars. He is a very kind and professional gentleman. I would trust his judgment.

One of the tenants in my in-law's rental property was complaining that the dryer Yevgeny helped me install wasn't working. I called him and he immediately came out to check out the dryer to make sure it was operating correctly.

After inspecting and checking the calibration of the dryer, he found that the dryer is working to manufacture's specifications and immediately let me know. So now I can go back to the tenant and tell them that the dryer is operating correctly.

When I asked Yevgeny to send me the bill, he said not to worry as his goal was to make sure that the unit was operating correctly! What a pleasant surprise! He was my go-to electrician, but with service like that - there is no need to look for anyone else.

We needed to fix a light fixture on a very high ceiling and the work was required to be done by a certified electrician. After requesting quotes from different firms we chose Yevgeny and scheduled a visit (the price he offered was reasonable).
His services were professional, he fixed that electrical fixture and even asked if we needed something else. For quite a while our washing machine was not working properly, it washed dishes, but dirty water was spilling partially around the sink so we barely used it. He looked at it and quickly identified a clog, fixed it and now it works as expected.
Overall the service was prompt and professional.

I found Yevgeny through Yelp and I totally understand why he has 5-star ratings. He was busy when I called so I left a voicemail and he called me back within 10-20 minutes.

I called 5 places to repair my water heater, and only Yevgeny was able to come in on the same day, even after 5pm. Yevgeny has a passion for the work that is clearly evident; he gave me a lot of comfort and confidence that he did the best job anybody could.

When it comes to pricing, Yevgeny is very reasonable and transparent. It was a pleasure to hire him!

We asked him to move our vanity 1.5 to the left. It was one of those Ikea style floating vanity all in one sink / draw units. Should be an easy enough job right? He ended up adding a piece of bare unfinished wood to the right side of the sink, and increased the original quite by several hundred dollars. We never asked for an extra unfinished piece of wood. We have to stare at his mistake everyday now. He also charged several hundred dollars more to pass city inspection. Does this mean if I don't pay the fee he creates work that won't pass inspection?

Lesson learned - don't hire General SF for anything involving drywall or carpentry, paint, or any work that needs to be up to code.

General SF has been my go to plumber for many years. Yevgeny is a consummate professional - always on time, fixes the plumbing problems quickly, accurately and without a fuss, takes before/after pictures and always points out if anything else requires attention. I've recommended General SF to friends and have received raving reviews.

Last week I attempted what looked like a simple DIY project of replacing a kitchen sink sprayer and got stuck - needed a specialized tool to unscrew the existing hose. Yevgeny was there in 45 minutes, the new sprayer was installed in another 15 minutes. He also notices that my P-trap wasn't securely assembled, so he disassembled the trap and re-installed the whole thing in the process. Thank you Yevgeny for another plumbing job well done!

Yevgeny was prompt in answering my emergency call on Sunday for a failing hot water heater leaking into the laundry room below creating a mess. He quickly diagnosed the problem after arriving that same afternoon and stopped the leak. Yevgeny is the kind of contractor/plumber/electrician/repairman you have always wanted to find. He is meticulous about his work, scrupulously honest, and a very nice man. We recently had a leaking toilet which was flooding our bathroom and creating a waterfall in the basement below it. He arrived at our house quickly, assessed the problem thoroughly , and fixed the problem. After he was done, he showed me exactly what work he had done, as well as the broken parts he replaced. In fact, the receipt he emailed on the spot included photos of both the broken parts and the new parts he used to replace them. Before he left, he noticed the handle on our front door was loose and fixed it for free. From start to finish, Yevgeny delivered a great experience. We will call him for all of our future home repair needs.

Just called General SF at 8pm not expecting them to answer. To my surprise they answered and walked me through how to relight my water heater pilot light over the phone. They even asked that I text them photos and they sat on the phone with me for 15-20 minutes walking me through trouble shooting. (hint: turn out the light in your garage to be able to see the pilot light through a dirty window).

I had a drainpipe that was badly rusted right where it connects to the concrete. The first plumber said he could cut it off right at the concrete, and install a plastic sleeve. Second plumber said that was a bad idea, and would need to dig into the concrete, and didn't want to even try to bid it because he didn't know how far he'd have to dig. Yevgeny also wanted to dig, and wanted to fix a bunch of other problems too. He gave a quote just a little more expensive than the first guy, and ended up having to dig up quite a bit of concrete before he got to good pipe. Even though it was a little more work than expected, he got the job done on time and on budget. If you want the job done *right*, for a fair price, Yevgeny is your guy.

Tried for over a month to schedule a walk thru and get an estimate. I emailed/called and he responded with a text. Then I emailed as requested and he said that he would call back. He never returned my call. I texted to follow up - no response. I called again and he said to email the plans again and then call him on Tuesday after he had time to review our plans. Our 70+ year-old water heater chose the pandemic as the time to start leaking and Yevgeny was able to come out on short notice and replace it with great attention to details. He not only left the work area cleaner than it was when he arrived, but was also under his budget estimate.

It boils down to him being a real professional. He's got a fantastic combination of old-school mentality (use good materials and do things right so it lasts) and new-school practices (secure digital records & communications). And ultra-new-school attention to hygiene and distancing. I had been dreading the replacement, but it turned out to be the highlight of my week. Okay maybe that last bit is TMI and a curious reflection on life during the pandemic, but I honestly believe it would have been a pleasure anytime!

I have to give them a one star because I called, texted and sent a message via their website requesting a quote or at least a call back. It has been two weeks and nothing. No call text or email. If they are busy and or my job is too small I'm ok with that but some kind of response would have been nice. I think that 8 hr and 100% response needs to revised.

Update: I am changing my review to a 5 star. I was contacted by the owner who apologized for not getting back to me sooner. Turns out he wasn't getting my messages. We were finally able to connect and he came to my home in the evening (which I thought was very nice). He was very knowledgeable about contracting and electrical work. He was able to identify some flaws in our electrical work from a previous contractor. His goal was not to sell me a bunch of products or upgrades, his main goal was to get my problem solved. While we were not able to solve it on this first visit, we were able to identify where the problem likely is. The owner is very professional and gave me very good advice. Did not try to upsell me and did not speak down to me because I was a woman. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone. You will not be disappointed!!

Great electrician! Him and another man helped re-wire old, frayed wires and replace breakers that were water logged from all the rain. He came out same day, was communicative, included photos to show me the problems, and presented me with lots of options for how to address the problem. He understands what needs to be fixed now (for safety) and what will need addressing sometime in the future.

I also showed him some other fixes around the house and he recommended other, good contractors (window guys, roofing people) that he says do good work. He didn't try to sell me on anything I didn't need. I never got a sleazy vibe from him. Highly recommended!

Had a couple issues 1. A bathroom sink that wouldn't drain and 2. A leak in the ceiling. Yevgeny came out on a Sunday to take a look at both. He gave me great advice on the ceiling leak and pointed out it's a roof leak and prevented us from doing a ton of expensive work cutting into the ceiling. The sink he went above and beyond to not only unclog but replace with better higher flowing pipes. What I loved was how detail oriented Yevgeny was and how he explained everything, made sure we were satisfied and treated the job as he was working in his own home. Respectful of the space and also doing a great job even if you didn't see the work. He was also very reasonable in pricing. I'll be using General sf again for anything that comes up - highly recommend them!

Yevgeny is a real professional. We've worked with him before when he fixed a corrosion hole quickly and economically in a major pipe below the bath, and when he replaced a toilet for us in our master bath. This time it was an upwelling from one of drains in our garage backing up during the rains. When we called he responded really quickly and came he next day which was New Year's Eve. He spent the whole day working extremely hard to try to clear a root ball from the drain pipe. The biggest challenge with hiring plumbers and general contractors is finding someone you can trust. I'm happy to say that I have 100% trust in Yevgeny, and he'll be the one I call with any house issues ever again.

Yevgeny is courteous, honest, and extremely knowledgeable. We called him on Sunday morning with a problem, and he was here by Sunday afternoon, and worked on the problem until almost midnight so that it would be completely fixed. We had talked to other companies who provided advice and quotes, and we found Yevgeny's assessment to be more thorough, and his prices more reasonable. He looked out for our best interests, explained his thought process clearly, and was diligent in making sure that the entire problem was solved, not just a superficial fix.

We had a drainage pipe that was overflowing due to the heavy storms passing through. Yevgeny explained the likely areas where it could be blocked, tried the simplest and cheapest solutions first. When that didn't work, he laid out a number of options for clearing the blockage further down the line. It turns out that we had a heavy silt blockage from the roof, and a drainage pipe that was installed too flat (without sufficient incline to drain the silt). Those things together caused a blockage. At this point, other plumbers would have snaked the drain and asked to get paid. However, because it's silt, the snake will go through it fine, but the water still drains very slowly. Yevgeny went a couple steps further, tested the pipes multiple times, and in consultation with us, replaced the blocked up pipe, and modified it to be inclined.

It's nice to know that the work that got done was necessary, reasonable, and performed with a tremendous degree of professionalism.

Yevgeny is amazing! I was a bit weary at first because his price was a little higher than other quotes, but you get what you pay for...and he was worth every penny!

My house had an electrical fire, and needed emergency service. Yevgeny was the only one (out of at least five other electrician companies all of whom had high ratings on Yelp) to respond in a timely manner, and follow through with everything that he said he would. I am beyond pleased.

Yesterday, on Sunday I noticed that my water heater is linking. I tried to call number of plumbers to come over and take a look. Almost all of them were off or didn't pick up a phone.

Very grateful to have been offered the chance to save a lot of money. One of the switches in my circuit breaker flipped and wouldn't turn back on.

When I called this company, I was advised first to unplug all equipment from the affected area. Then try the switch again. It worked!

I slowly plugged each device back in. It turns out a lamp with shoddy wiring was at fault. The moment I plugged it in, it sparked and the switch flipped again. Needless to say, I'll be throwing that lamp out.

I salute the owner(s) of this company for their generosity and expert advice. They never even came over and were still able to solve the issue.

Yevgeny gave me a call back within the same day to ask detailed questions about the potential project in fixing our electrical outlets. He gave me a very clear view of potential cost including cost of materials. He let me know that I should check a few things before he even comes over to see if that will fix the problems. He was right in that our circuit breaker switches were mislabeled for the on/ off switches so I didn't even need the service.

He clearly didn't want to rip me off and was very kind.

I'm honestly not sure if Yevgeny's hourly rates are the cheapest or not but he seemed very kind and trustworthy so I'd definitely like to give him a call the next time we need his services.

We had a minor gas leak earlier in the day, which resulted in an emergency PG&E visit and having our gas shut off. With no gas, we were told to find a contractor to repair the leak.

We called General SF around 2pm, and by 4.30pm Yevgeny came around to fix the problem. He was extremely friendly and communicative, going out of his way to explain what the problems were, and what he was doing to fix them. After about an hour and a half, he had fixed the gas (stripped and resealed several joints), and even went out of his way to fix some unrelated plumbing problems with the sink!

I highly recommend Yevgeny. He's exceptionally friendly, knows his stuff, thorough, and diligent.

Never before have I had such a positive experience born of emergency.

Late Sunday evening our water heater began leaking profusely. We quickly turned off the water and called around for a plumber that would agree to replacing a water heater at this hour, on a Sunday.

Yevgeny came to our rescue. He picked up a new water heater from Home Depot at 9 PM and brought it to our house to install, which ended up being an unexpectedly difficult job. He worked late into the night (nearly 2 AM) to ensure that we would have hot water for our morning showers -- and was remarkably kind and helpful the entire time.

No Yelp review can fully communicate my appreciation for Yevgeny. His customer service, work ethic, and handyman skillset put him at the very top of San Francisco's plumbers and electricians.

We are very pleased with the skill and honesty of General SF. This is the first time we have called General SF, and we will certainly call them in the future, Yevgeny arrived within an hour of our phone call. He was professional, thoughtful and well-prepared.

We have had on-going problems with the plumbing in our 80 year old home. This time it was the kitchen sink, pipes and garbage disposal. Yevgeny talked us through the whole process, and gave us several choices. He is the first plumber to ever suggest replacing the corroded, rusted and cracked pipes! Everything works beautifully now. Yevgeny was also concerned with keeping the work affordable, which we appreciate as young homeowners. We can also attest to the fact that he was pleasant with our dogs and son.

I thought honest folks in the trades (plumbers, carpenters, contractors, etc) where a lost art or something you only saw from the Mad Men era. Not so with General SF. Yevgeny responded to our plea for help, to restore power to 1/3 of the house after a breaker blew and could not reset. Again, a nod to the past, we live in an 80 year old house in the Richmond District, and things are going to happen. When the 8 year old furnace went out last week, the obvious temporary remedy was space heater(s). Although I know they are notorious amp suckers, we went ahead and got a few. Beats an open fire.

Anyway, when Yevgeny responded, he took the time to photograph and email his recommendations for repairs that should be made down the road. Most importantly, when the breaker blew again, and I could not reset it, he came back free of charge. Customer Service that is without peer. Thanks Yevgeny!

A friend of mine helped me change the kitchen faucet and the garbage disposal. Unfortunately, they were not installed correctly, and I faced other problems later, where the water was leaking from underneath and the garbage disposal had a shortage. Im going to first say he is an extremely nice guy. The problem for me is his rates. I paid $270.00 for a service call. He informed me the system was old and need to be updated(something I already knew) but in order to find the short in one of the fuses he needed to investigate. He said could be 2-20 hours, he didn't know until he started looking. At $270.00 per hour it just wasn't in my budget. I ended up getting an upfront quote to update panel and find fuse issue for $800.00. I'm not really the hourly type. I like to know what I'm paying. At $270.00 an hour, 3 hours of his investigation would have cost the same as my new panel and resolved problem. As I said he is a very nice guy, it's just my preference to get compare quotes.

The news was bad but he thought about it overnight and came up with a great, safe (I will only do work that aIlows me to sleep well at night) work around. It's always a rude awakening when you come home to a leaking water heater in the garage. Especially, when that heater belongs to the vacationing upstairs neighbors.

Yvgeny responded like a hero. He came by immediately, turned off the gas, and helped to drain the water. Not only that, but he was fantastic in breaking down and communicating all of our options. Finally, before he left, he even offered to fix any other handyman problems we had in the unit.

One of the rooms in my house was out of power and I tried all the normal things like resetting the fuse box switches, messing with the GFI outlets.

I first called General SF after it still wasn't working. Yevgeny the owner picked up the phone and he guided me through a few more tips before he confirmed he would probably have to come on site to check it out. We scheduled an appointment for the next morning. He came over on time with a big smile and was very efficient. I'm a bit of a nerd so I asked him a bunch of questions about what he was checking. He enjoyed answering anything I asked.

He was able to fix it in less than an hour and gave a bunch of tips on how to prevent this from happening again.

Overall, a very honest and skilled electrician.

Yevgeny at General SF was helpful and direct in speaking with me over the phone prior to his visit. I was having trouble with water pressure in the shower. He told me some potential problems that it could be and asked me to check a few simple things. He was very accommodating with working a visit into my schedule on the weekend.
During his visit, he was kind and helpful. He wanted to show me how the valves worked and explained things to me in a way I could understand.
He is very honest and seems to have lots of experience with plumbing and electrical, and I will certainly be calling him again for any problems I have moving forward.

Yevgeny is great! BestBuy delivered a new stove to me today. The stove wouldn't push flush to the wall, because its recessed areas didn't match the orientation of the gas pipe. Yevgeny answered my call, asked me to send photos, took a lot of time on the phone to explain my options, and came by two hours later. Wow! There were a couple complications during the job (like, the BestBuy guys didn't correctly position the anti-tip bracket), and Yevgeny handled everything expertly. He was good-humored, informative, and charged exactly the reasonable price he had estimated at the start. I will definitely call him when I need help in the future!

Once upon a time, there was a delivery truck on its way to 7/11 (#7ElevenDay). The truck was so tall that it clipped all wires connected to my house. The electrical pipe fell. The wires snapped, leaving us in the dark. It was a mess. PG&E cut and replaced the power line connecting to the house by 8:00 PM. We needed to find an electrician to reconnect our house to the grid. It was already 8:30PM and it was more like Mission Impossible. We found Yevgeny on Yelp and managed to contact him. He arrived 20 minutes later. It was almost 9:00 PM. He was very knowledgeable, very responsive and very friendly. He assessed the damage and gave us the bad news. Our wires were damaged and needed to be replaced. He also confirmed what we knew. Our fuse box was too small for our house. We opted to replace it and upgrade our box and wires. He came the next morning @9:30 AM to inspect what he could not see last night. By the afternoon, different teams started to work on the house. We got temporary power in less than 48 hours. He performed a terrific job at a very fair price, and all electrical and electronic consumed electricity again happily ever after.

I believe that all home owners should known what's in their house. I asked him to explain what he did and why, such as the new grounding or wires used, what has been replaced, what is no longer used. Yevgeny performed the extra-mile, especially when patching our house. I would rate him with 6 stars. 7? OK.. 7 stars.. Deal!!!

Yevgeny was awesome, and probably the most honest electrician I've met.

Our unit had a partial electrical outage and so I called a few electricians, none of which answered the phone. Yevgeny replied immediately and gave us a quick estimate of when we can expect him. What's great is he kept me updated on his expected arrival with text messages, so there was no annoying expect us between 2 pm and 8 pm. I must admit I know nothing about electrical work and he was honest and said it was an extremely easy fix to which he didn't even want to charge me for. I was amazed, he easily could've charged me well over a hundred dollars.

Also keep in mind Yevgeny isn't just an electrician, as his company name implies, he does generally everything! My electrical box was stuck behind a padlock and I called a locksmith to come cut it off. It turned out to be really stupid thing to do because he could have easily done it more quickly and for less.

I highly recommend Yevgeny and any future problems I have with my house I'm definitely contacting General SF first.

I called Yevgeny on a rainy Sunday to figure out why our neighbor's garage had lost power; he came within 20 minutes, but due to the rain the work had to be postponed. On Monday he came again and found the problem (a wire had been accidentally cut by a contractor), so he repaired the electrical connections, placed a new connector box, and reinstalled the pipe housing; the whole set up is much better than the original. He then came to my home on Tuesday, fixed a light switch and replaced an outdoor electrical outlet. His work was excellent, he answered my questions, he was very pleasant, his rates are very reasonable, and he gave me good advice about a few other structural items in my home (stairs, fence, etc.). He has done excellent work for one of my family members; we all recommend him very highly and are so fortunate that he works on Sundays, and Monday to Friday.

Called Yevgeny at General SF on short notice to have a gas shutoff valve installed at our washer/dryer hook-up. He came out within an hour and helped us move our old dryer and installed the shutoff valve. Very friendly and provided expert service. Wow! Wow! Wow!

I had to call a plumber for a friend of mine in the Ingleside District near SFSU who needed his main sewer line snaked. Yevgeny came by in the late afternoon and worked at the line for a good amount of time before he came to me to explain what the problem was, what he tried to do to fix it, and what needed to be done in order to get it fixed.
Here's the mind blowing part - He explained he didn't have the specialized equipment needed to clear this particular drain, so he told us what equipment was needed and insisted No Charge for the time he'd been working.

There were several things that impressed me:

1) He was very candid and honest in telling us he didn't have the right equipment.
2) He was very helpful in explaining exactly what size and kind of snake was needed.
3) He was kind enough not to charge for time he had spent because he couldn't help clear the drain.

That kind of a work ethic makes him trustworthy, reliable, honest and competent in my book. He's head and shoulders above any of the Bargain Plumbers by a mile. Next time I have any plumbing issues at all, he's my first call!

During a multi-day rainstorm in SF, our ceiling sprung a leak. All of the roof companies I reached out to had month-long waitlists and wouldn't entertain the idea of coming out at the last minute.

I called Yevgeny earlier this month looking to have some electrical work done. Unfortunately, due to the electrical panel (Federal Pacific panel known to be faulty and recommended to be replaced by electricians) currently installed on the house, the project turned out costing more than I had planned for. Rather than try and convince me to proceed with the more expensive project, Yevgeny advised me to wait until I needed some major work done in the house before choosing to replace the electrical panel since it made more sense from a financial perspective. He also suggested a few alternative solutions in the meantime. I really appreciated the fact that he took the time to explain everything to me even though he knew he likely wasn't going to receive any business from my reason for calling and was just being genuinely helpful.

I didn't actually meet Yevgeny in-person but I told him the issue I was having with my toilet and he explained to me that it would make more sense for him to walk me through trying to fix the issue over the phone versus having him come out since he thought my fix would be relatively simple. He asked me to send a photo of the inside of the toilet so he could make sure everything looked correct and called me back to try to walk me through the fix. We needed emergency late-night help when the power went out in our apartment unit. We tried flipping all the circuit breakers, to no avail. Something was really wrong. My pregnant wife and I were packing for a trip the following day, and having the power out really sucks: searching in the dark for candles & matches, fear of all the food spoiling in the fridge, and of course no WiFi.

I started calling a handful of electricians at 9pm hoping for a real person to answer, and only Yevgeny at General SF did! Even though I was freaking out a little, he was friendly and calm, asking me questions and walking me through his attempt to diagnosis our problem. Nothing seemed to work, so he agreed to make a late-night house call to help us out!

Yevgeny arrived after taking time to specially pack his car with the ALL the equipment he might need to help solve our problem. Within minutes of his arrival, he had figured out what our problem and solution was. He explained things very patiently to us both, and never gave any impression that he was trying to leave as soon as he could, even though it was so late at night. He's just a great problem-solver and an honestly good person. Next time I need help with a plumbing or electrical problem, I will jump to call Yevgeny first, and you should too. He'll make everything better!

Yevgeny is the best! I was impressed and very pleased with how quickly he was able to come out, inspect the job and give us a fair quote. He answers telephone calls himself and is terrific at follow up. He's friendly, helpful and, most of all, very patient in explaining exactly what work is needed, why it is needed and how long it will take to perform the work. Our first call to him was when a Recology truck pulled down the power connection between our house and PG&E. We're so pleased with him that we're going to have him make a variety of repairs to our Victorian. I recommend Yevgeny absolutely and without reservation.

Apparently he did not receive my text, which is strange since it was sent to the same number that I called him on, which he said was his cell phone, but I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt since ATT, Verizon, Sprint, etc. are all terrible.

Not sure whether I can salvage a working relationship at this point but I am happy he addressed my concern.

He was clearly in the middle of doing some work, and after a few awkward minutes of him failing at multitasking and asking me to repeat myself, he asked me to send him a text with my name, contact info, and description of project, and he would call me back after 5pm. I immediately obliged. That was over 2 weeks ago. I never heard back.

What you want in a plumber is someone to show up fast (you've probably got a clogged drain or burst pipe), quickly diagnose and solve the problem, and charge you a fair rate. Yevgeny and General SF provide all that!

30 minutes after I called him about an overflowing vent attached to the dishwasher he was at the house sleuthing around to find the problem. After flushing out this drain and cleaning out that pipe he solved the problem and we could rejoice in the knowledge we'd no longer be washing dishes by hand.

And did I mention this all happened before lunch and for a responsible price. Feels good to know I've got a reliable plumber on speed dial.

Edited because I realized I mistakenly posted another electricians review here. Below is my general sf review.

Nice guy, charges a VERY steep $250 minimum he reveals when he's on the way over. Asked for my involvement in the process but there wasn't much to do, so in reality he was taking me away from my work only to keep me involved with every minutia of the inspection. I believe it's good for me to understand what's going on but only to a point. I spent a total of 1.5 hours with him.

Couldn't fix my issue nor did he have a clear idea of how to solve it. Spoke ill of other items in my house having nothing to do with electricity. He disconnected the problem wires and left. Sent over some expensive recommendations. Though the best recommendation he gave me was to call the original electrician, which I did, who then visited and fixed the issue in under 30min.

So while he's an extremely nice guy, I felt like my time and money could have gone further.

General SF is my go-to for anything gas line/plumbing! I've tried the guys you see from the big plumbing companies with the vans all over SF and they're hard to get a hold of and I'm realizing do a mediocre job. Yevgeny of General SF is crazy responsive and does the job right. This is the second time I've called him and he's great. He made time for me same-day, quickly identified the problem with my sink, went out of his way to go out at night to pick up some parts, called to see if he could come back same-night (!) and totally fixed the problem. Friendly and honest. He's also licensed as a GC which really shows when he explains the options for fixing problems. Price was beyond fair and he even let my 2 year old feel like he was involved in the repair! Can't say enough good things about Yevgeny!

My mom's previous water heater installation had gone bad 1 month after installation. The previous plumber could not fix it and asked me to call the 800 number water heater manufacturer to get a part replaced. In a panic I found General SF on Yelp and called Yevgeny. Yevgeny was excellent! So my buddy asks me a favor to help him out because he has to work and set up an electrician to come by to fix some stuff at the house. He gave me a number of an elctrician to fix some electrical issues with the house.

I called General SF and spoke with Yevgeny. Yes his English is not perfect but we had no communication issues. He arrived in a timely manner. Looked over the issue and gave his recommendations. When my buddy gave me the go ahead to tell him what to do, not only did he fix the problem but he did so in a way you can respect him. He fixed the issue but during the job he encountered some oddities that made the job very frustrating yet he didnt waiver. He hung in there despite how difficult a large part of it was until the situation was fixed. When he went to the hardware store to pick up parts he even called (very responsible) to say was stuck in traffic and so I knew he was delayed coming back.

I would recommend him and use him if I had issues.

Best plumber I have ever worked with.
Yevgeny was on the phone with me for over 30 min and trying to walk me through and teach me how to install my new grill for our commercial kitchen. He is such an amazing person that without even knowing me was trying to help me on the phone so I can install the grill myself for no charge. As soon as he noticed I am struggling, he drove all the way to the other side of town to install it himself and btw did an amazing job. He was very fair and reasonable about the price. He even came with me to the store to exchange a part that I had purchased by mistake. Overall great service, and most honest, fair and professional person.

We had a bathtub drain that busted and started a leak in the garage. This triggered a major issue with mold and asbestos so the sheet rock was removed. Yevgeny came the same day I called him to give me an estimate, which turned out to be very reasonable. He also moved his schedule around to accommodate us so that he could start the next day.
He ended up doing more work for us because he's such a perfectionist. He and another person worked the entire July 4 (holiday!) and even cleaned up after on their hands and knees to wipe the garage of sheet rock dust. He is wonderful and we are very appreciative. We will use him again.

Yevgeny is fantastic, I'm very glad we found him. Some highlights from our first experience:

We had an electrical emergency (dangerous fluctuation from a damaged PG&E line, tripped breakers, fried outlets, smoke smells in the house). I called him at 8:45am and he showed up in less than an hour -- impressive.

He diagnosed the problem quickly, and advised us on how to properly tell PG&E so they knew the nature and urgency of the situation.

He found a couple other safety issues with our aging, questionably-wired house, and suggested a range of possible solutions **with the intention of helping us save money.**

After PG&E replaced the line, he came back and repaired the blown GFI outlets - and produced one of the most detailed invoices I've ever seen, including photos of his work in progress and damaged or questionable fixtures.

So for his responsiveness, thoroughness, being an advisor and advocate (rather than just a vendor), professionalism in general, and just being a really nice guy to deal with, we highly recommend General SF.

We worked with Yevgeny on some repairs on our home in Pac Heights. There were a few areas that were affected from some severe rains that hit last winter. Yevgeny promptly responded to our call when we first reached out. We were able to send him pictures so he could give us a preliminary estimate right over the phone. We set up an appointment, and he came to our house on time. Came up with a final estimate, and started work as soon as was convenient for us. Yevgeny did a great job and was incredibly thorough. He was meticulous about taping everything off so that we could continue to live in the house. He even sped up his delivery schedule by a couple days to accommodate plans we had for Easter.

The quality of work he does is top notch and he even fixed some areas, without charging us, that were not part of the original estimate. We would highly recommend Yevgeny and his team for whatever project you have. We will definitely be using Yevgeny and team for future projects and some larger remodeling that we have planned for in the future!

So disappointed that I'm actually writing a review. I use Yelp to find most services, but admittedly never write reviews myself. Recently, we were looking for a contractor for a couple of projects at our office, and the number of glowing reviews for General SF convinced us to contact them for a quote. I used their website submission form and didn't hear back from them for about a week. Then I called to follow up and the person who answered the phone told me he would take a look at the form I submitted on their website, and get back to me in 5 minutes. I never heard back from him. With the number of 5 star reviews, it is just disappointing to not even get a promised call back as a curtesy.

Called this company with a down water heater when I was out of town. Central Sunset location with a mildly upset tenant. The contractor took photos of the property when he arrived to let me know he was on time. He fixed the issue and let me know he was leaving. The happy tenant called me 5 minutes later to tell me the contractor did a clean job. Glad I found General SF. Can't say enough.

Revised - He contacted me again today and explained his process for repairing the issue should he come. I think there must be an issue with how he describes things over the phone because I understood him to say he was going to stop by when he was in the area on a specific date and he said he never committed to that and wanted to charge me $250 for a visit. Again I can't attest to the quality of his work because I didn't feel comfortable continuing but I think communication could definitely be improved.

Original - Disappointed in the follow up. He started out being very helpful - answering calls and looking at our photos. But then he agreed to come by our house to investigate the issue and never came. He hasn't responded to me contacting his phone number in over a week now. I can't attest to the quality of his work but follow through has been poor. Happy to revise the review if we receive service.

I am so glad I found a smart honest contractor who figured out what was wrong with my electrical outlet so quickly! The last electrician I had come look at it tested it but said he could not do anything because the garbage disposal was in the way. So he charged me $200 and it was still not working. I called General SF because they know how to remove a garbage disposal and would be able to access the electrical outlet. Yevgeny was able to get both outlets working in 15-20 minutes and he did not even need to remove the garbage disposal. I highly recommend him and thank him for doing such a great service!!!

I can vouch for all of the five-star reviews that came before mine. Yevgeny is the gold standard for independent contractors. We first called him for an estimate to add a 240v outlet to our laundry closet. After coming to the house and reviewing our set up, he advised against it and offered alternatives -- none of which would give him any business. He called an hour later with another suggestion. The next morning my husband accidentally nicked a copper water pipe. I called Yevgeny and he was at the house within an hour and fixed the pipe. I highly recommend him.

I am blown away with General SF! I honestly wish that I could give more stars. I called Yevgeny after we hired a different electrician for an emergency situation over the weekend. I started getting a weird feeling about our situation but since I have no background in electrical work, I decided to call other local electricians to see what they thought. Yevgeny answered my call immediately and after explaining my situation, he confirmed that we had been swindled out of a great deal of money. We talked for about 15 minutes and then he asked if he might be able to stop by and look at the solution that had been created for us. Not 20 minutes later, he was outside (socially distant and with a mask, which was very appreciated!) and immediately recognized our issue. He took pictures of what the other electrician had done and then drew diagrams on top of the pictures of what should have been done. He was so calm and explained things thoroughly. He went through each of the parts that were used, looked up the current prices of the materials, and gave me an estimate on the high end of what he expected the costs were. The entire time he reiterated that he wasn't trying to take over the job and that he just wanted to counsel me in a tough situation. After he left, he emailed me a great deal of references so that I could better understand our issue. He also sent me the contract that he uses for his clients so that I could see what we should have been given. Yevgeny called me to talk through everything and ultimately was largely responsible for our very positive outcome. Over the course of several days, we spoke on the phone for probably between 1-2 hours. He never asked for any compensation and he continued to tell me that he just wanted to help us get out of a bad situation and restore our faith in the profession. I am so so grateful for Yevgeny and for General SF. The customer service, attention to detail, and, most importantly, the honesty and the true concern he shows for people is unparalleled. I could not recommend Yevgeny more!

What a nice guy. He offered to help me over the phone without charge. I sent him some photos, he looked them over, called me back and confirmed I had wired everything correctly. He graciously took time out of his day to help out a DIY'er over the phone and said from the first minute he wouldn't charge me a dime!

I told him I was going to try buying a different brand of hardware, he said if that didn't work he would try to schedule a visit when he was already going to be in the area so he could come by without charging hundreds of dollars.

This experience speaks volumes about his character and based on that I would recommend him. He seems to more focused on helping people than just collecting money, we need more professionals like him!

In late April 2016, in our SF apartment, he squeezed us in to his busy schedule to add a 240V circuit and appropriate appliance cable/plug -- they had been installed incorrectly by a previous subcontractor who worked as an electrician, but not very well. We thought we were going to buy a new appliance because of the original tradesman's error.

Yevgeny is probably the best contractor I've ever used. He is one of those people who owns a hard-working small business, is very talented at what he does and goes out of his way to help a person out.

Problem #1: our dishwasher broke
Problem #2: the owners before us cut costs by putting in hardwood floors above the floor instead of doing it correctly so floor sits above the dishwasher.

Sears would not install a new one. Other contractors said I needed to cut the floor around it or cut the granite to get one in. Expensive, ugly and huge inconvenience!

Yevgeny was recommended by our neighbors, and he was terrific! He thinks outside the box and found a solution to put in a new one without destroying our kitchen. No damage to our floors or granite! We were so happy we had other kitchen work done.

He went out of his way to give me recommendations on where to cut costs and where to buy products. He also would give me great recommendations on what I could do that seemed impossible (move the sink so can put in a bigger dishwasher and have more counterspace). He is professional, personable and helped us save a lot of money. I thank him for his fantastic work and would recommend him without reservation.

Yevgeny knows his business well. He helped us make an educated decision about what to do when our very large capacity hot water heater failed. He knows the people at the different material suppliers, he knows what the risks and costs are very well.
Yevgeny made sure our recirculating water system was robust and all new piping was in excellent condition. When I needed an estimate for an outside shed demolition, Yevgeny came through to give me an honest assessment of the work required. He was punctual, respectful, and willing to help.

I called other contractors as well, but a few didn't return my calls, and another one flaked in returning with an estimate. Yevgeny answered immediately, was available to meet the same day or the next, and was pleasant to talk to. He was more than willing to share whatever knowledge he had about the project and alternative solutions.

Though I did not go with him this time due to budgetary reasons, I will be sure to contact him if I ever need more work done.

I am a good judge of character, and I feet that Yevgeny is someone worth doing business with.

What can I say?
During the holiday season (Dec 2012) it rained cats and dogs. My wife came running down to me from the kitchen one night saying that their was water coming from our ceiling. I went into the garage thinking if the water leaked into the garage and there was a small puddle. This meant that it had to be taken care of immediately. I was able to rout the water from the kitchen in a couple of buckets and filled two of them up in just one night. I was lost, desperate and worried.

I saw on yelp that General SF had nothing but stellar reviews and that Yevgeny was the best. I took my chances and called him first.

Yevgeny arrived the time promised which is big in my book. He took many pictures of where the water was coming from and asked to go on the roof. He had promised another job that day but said he would return to get on our roof and take a look. When he came back, he took a picture and showed my wife. There was basically a swimming pool on our roof due to a tennis ball that got blown over the opening of the drainage pipe. He showed us a $5 grill piece from Home Depot to put over the opening so the water can just drain and not pool up.

There was damage however as he explained about a soft roof and how it needed to be repaired when the weather gets better. He explained how the water made the wood and the tarring on the roof soft and how it would be repaired. Yevgeny gave us an honest estimate for the roof repair and did not charge us anything for climbing up on our roof and removing the tennis ball.

I will be calling on Yevgeny's expertise, honestsy, workmanship and just plain excellent customer service to repair my roof and other issues that need to be fixed in my household. Yelpers - this is a good one! Use General SF for home repair.

He came out on a Sunday a few hours after i called, already had the parts with him. I'd like to thank Eugine for honest and professional approach handling my problem with water heater (gas pilot wouldn't stay lit). I left a message explaining problem, and Eugine called me back, leaving msg with possible problems (thermocouple is broken, etc) and possible price for fixing it. I hired Yevgeny to redo the shower. The space could not fit a shower pan so Yevgeny did a custom shower pan. The first phase was done and he had the city inspector come in and did a shower pan test. Pass with no problems.

I wanted to have a rain shower so he re-did the pipes to make that happen for me. He is so awesome because he would take pictures of the work before cover it all up.

The shower pan tiles are so nicely done with a perfect slope for the water to run to the drain. I uploaded the picture of my shower.

He did such a great job and since he does also electrical work, I had run new electrical wiring for the bathroom and changed my electrical panel.

Everything looks great. Now I have to think what my next project should be.

I called Yevgeny to install a lamp that was bought from crate and barrel. My first thought was I'm not an electrician and I'm not dealing with this. My research came up with GeneralSF due to the popularity of its owner, Yevgeny.

From the start he showed safety and a great deal of expertise. The lamp was extremely difficult to install and he knew exactly how to place it in our popcorn ceiling. Yevgeny was careful to properly place the lamp in our ceiling with precise alignment.

I can't say enough about Yevgeny, who came to snake the pipes in my furnace room. THANK YOU YVGENY!! This guy is absolutely THE best. I had a very odd buzzing coming from a GFCI outlet. I'd tried everything I could think of (including changing the outlet itself, and various other things) and just couldn't figure it out. As an architect, I probably know only just enough to be dangerous, but there was no logical solution. I called Yvgeny on Saturday (it wasn't till later that he told me he usually doesn't work on Saturdays.). He spent at least an hour on the phone, sending texts, videos, etc back and forth. The forensics were tricky, and he even said he'd never heard that kind of buzzing from a GFCI. But he stepped me through it, and finally we identified AND FIXED the problem. HE WOULDN'T EVEN LET ME PAY HIM for spending an hour on the phone. I actually feel bad! But he asked only that I leave a good review on Yelp. Cannot thank you enough for saving me HUNDREDS of dollars on an expensive electrician that probably wouldn't have had HALF your knowledge. THANK YOU!!!!

This morning, after a nice pleasant shower, our faucet decided to spew endless amounts of hot water out of it... We called our regular plumber but he didn't answer. We checked Yelp and saw all the great reviews on Yevgeny. He answered right away and came immediately to save our apartment from flooding. He fix it quickly and at a great rate.

After he left we went to turn on the faucet and blue bleach water started to come out. The blue disinfectant used in toilets can apparently cause discoloration of your tap water if your water supply was recently turned off, water from the toilet tank was siphoned into the plumbing of our house. These disinfectants contained chemicals that pose health hazards if ingested or touched. Yevgeny came back over right after I notified him of this discoloration and flushed our plumbing in our whole apparent building!!! He was here for over an hour free of charge and even followed up later in the day to make sure everything was still running smoothly. We will definitely be calling Yevgeny for all our future plumbing needs!

I had power go out in only a couple rooms of the house, and after checking that the hadn't been tripped, check online to see what was going on. I couldn't find exactly what it was, so I called Yevgeny at General SF. He was able to make time for to stop by the day that I called. Upon arriving, he made a quick diagnosis, and it required just a quick fix with the GFI's. Since it was such a quick fix, he was very generous and gave me a very prorated rate.

Not only did it make my day to have such an honest electrician, but the convenience with which he was able to swing by and the efficiency with which he fixed our issue was great. When a plumber knows what he is doing and friendly, he could save your day! My house was leaking from upstairs to downstairs so badly. And I was out of town, my in laws were there, but they could not find the leaking origin.

I searched Yelp and found so many good reviews about Yevgeny and General SF. When I called around 5:00pm, which was the closing time, I was wondering if he can come and help. To my surprise, Yevgeny answered my call for help immediately and arrived at my house in 15 mins!!!!

Yevgeny is so professional and so knowledgable, and identified the leaking spot right away. You can tell that he is so knowledgable that he went through the whole process with my in laws and pointed out all the safety concerns. By only touching the dry wall, he knew where already got moisted and need to be replaced. He gave us so many good advices and did not charge us for them. More importantly, he is so friendly and so easy to talk with. We like Yevgeny and his work so much!! I hope I would not have any more leaking/plumber problem in my house, but I know who to call next time!

Thanksgiving--one of the few days of the year you do not want to have a plumbing emergency--lucky me, I did...

I left messages with five plumbers, and the last one suggested texting (which works much better with my spotty connectivity), and it was this last text that Yegevny responded to (the only one to do so); after asking questions about what I tried so far so he could assess the issue, he said he would try to find someone to come by. No one else was available so with a little internal struggle (understandably), he promised he would come out between 8p-9p. About three hours after he arrived, I could once again use any facility requiring water--won't go into details, but it was not pretty and definitely stressful.

I'm both appreciative and grateful for Yegevny's responsiveness and integrity in helping me out with my emergency. He worked diligently to suss out the situation and the best way to fix it, including testing his work, and he was also extremely pleasant and patient in answering my questions despite my unfortunate interruption of his Thanksgiving time with his family.

I don't usually write reviews but when one needs a good plumber, it's incredibly helpful to have the opinions of others. My experience was exceptional so I'm willing to share it. I have experience doing my own plumbing (replacing faucets, valves, etc...) but I know my limits and knew this job would require a professional. I say this to convey that while I am not a plumber, I do have a bit of knowledge and having worked with contractors a lot, I also have a pretty good idea if someone is trying to sell me something I don't need.

I have a 1930's house in the Sunset District that had a 3' vertical crack in a section of the 4 cast iron drain pipe in the basement. The crack was leaking so I wanted it replaced. This was all that I thought that I needed. But I also knew that the bathtub and kitchen sink were draining slowly. My brother thought they just needed snaking or the traps cleaned out so we didn't think this would be related to the work Yevgeny would do in replacing the cracked pipe.

I called Yevgeny on short notice and when he arrived, he looked at how all of the drain piping was laid out (it's all exposed in the basement) and asked if everything is draining OK in the bathroom above. Interesting, given that I hadn't told him about the slow bath drain. I told him about the bath drain and he told me that he asked because the drain pipes from the bathroom connect to a horizontal section which then takes a sharp 90 degree turn to drain into the 4 cast iron drain pipe that he would be replacing. He explained that the sharp 90 degree turn was a point of constriction that was begging for trouble, if not now, in the future. I don't have to be a plumber to understand this; it was a reasonable concern. Yevgeny merely said he would have done it differently, where it would be a 90 degree turn but more gradual so that it wasn't a point of constriction. Something like making a 90 degree turn over 8 instead of over 2.

Current plumbing standards require the design of systems that allow for improved drainage. Plumbing standards in the 30's weren't as efficient. Yevgeny proposed replacing the 90 degree section as a part of his work replacing the 4 cast iron pipe because it would prevent future problems and he was working on that area so it could easily be made a part of that work. I'm a woman and my brother worries that I will be taken advantage of. But what Yevgeny proposed was reasonable and made sense and I did not get the feeling that he was trying to up-sell me so I agreed.

I am extremely grateful that I did. I don't know how to attach photos in Yelp but if I did, I would. The horizontal pipe that fed into the 90 degree bend was almost completely clogged with material; including lots of metal from pipe interiors. The 4 cast iron pipe was also similarly clogged. I am indebted to Yevgeny for having the experience to recognize a potential problem, the persistence in explaining why it was a potential problem and the wisdom to recognize that due to my suspicious nature toward contractors, I would only arrive at my decision on my own.

Yevgeny did excellent, efficient work, he was meticulous, up to code and insistent on cleaning up everything when the work was done. He also pointed out other areas that I should keep an eye on - not toward gaining more work for himself but taking time to explain what I should be aware of.

My kitchen sink that was draining slowly that we thought was the trap? Yevgeny checked it, the trap was fine. The kitchen has a separate drain system and snaking from under the sink did not help. Yevgeny had to take apart the drain piping in the basement only to find the same problem that the other drain system had; pipes almost completely clogged with rusted metal from the inside of the pipes. He cleaned out the pipes by digging out the clog and snaking and then reassembled everything. This section had previously been serviced by another contractor who should have replaced this rotting pipe section when they worked on it but hadn't.

I once had a tile contractor who was excellent. Early on in the job, he decided he wanted to use a special flexible material over cracks that had formed in the foundation due to earthquakes. The material was expensive and I questioned why it was needed. Years later the tile has held up beautifully and I've stayed in touch with the tile contractor. He said it held up due to the expensive material he put over the cracks. I asked him why he persisted when I was reluctant to approve the material. He told me, Whenever I do a job, I always think back to past jobs with the pride of knowing that I did my best. If I don't do it right or I take shortcuts, I know I will always think back to, 'that one job' that I know I didn't do right. And that job will always weigh heavily on my mind. I don't want to be haunted by, 'that one job'. Yevgeny is that kind of person. Call him. You're welcome.

If I could give it 10 stars I would. My food disposer stopped working, and Yevgeny guided me how to re-set the disposer over the phone for free. It worked and saved me a lot of money. Finally an honest and caring contractor! Everyone had bad experience with contractors and Yevgeny is the exception! I was originally thinking to build an outdoor kitchen with sink, Yevgeny came over and carefully examined everything, then told me that I could not do it because the waste water has no where to go, the yard drain system only takes clean water. I really appreciated his honesty and it save me tens of thousands dollars to build something that I could not use later. Since Yevgeny is such an honest guy, I consulted him of my balcony flooring job, Yevgeny did estimation carefully and also told me what the pros and cons of doing it. Again it turns out that I would be better off if I do not go with the approach I had on my mind before. Then we went further to discuss what options I have which is better and cheap. He recommended me to use epoxy which is cheap and look nice. For almost two hours consultancy, it is all FREE! I could not appreciate Yevgeny more for being honest to me and providing me the best solution for my problem. I will definitely go for Yevgeny for any questions relating to plumbing or contractor work!

May I start by saying that if it was possible to give 6 stars, I would.
Yevgeny Dubinsky with General SF exceeded all expectations and without hesitation I give him the highest possible recommendation. He is the most honest, hard working, and detailed contractor that I have ever worked with, and his rates are incredibly reasonable considering the outstanding quality of work done.

I have included a high amount of further detail below for anyone that would like to read more.

Yevgeny did a closet/pantry expansion project for me that ended up going many weeks past the estimated original timeline through no fault of his own (many unexpected bumps, including a foundation issue that we discovered after work had begun). I ended up getting to know him very well and spoke with him in person almost every day during that period, often for 15-20 minutes or more - this included Sundays - and he is as hard of a worker as you will ever find.

My experience in all that time was above and beyond, A+, and without exception he has been unbelievably detailed and thorough with not only the work itself, but also explaining how and why, in person, what the correct way to do something (whatever stage, or item, or challenge that problem presented).

One word about phone communication with Yevgeny that I feel is important to note: He does have a slight accent and so occasionally over the phone it can be difficult to understand something he was explaining, and there was more than once that I slightly misunderstood him initially - however, when we connected in person, it made 100% sense when we were able to talk it out in person. There's no doubt that the fact that with his accent + english is not his first language can present occasional barriers to understanding each other clearly on the phone. The way he speaks can occasionally be confusing, especially when he is busy or has something else going on in the background. That said, he actually has a very good command of our language and is a very smart guy, so in ALL circumstances, our communications were excellent and very clear and well-understood in-person. So in sum, phone communication can occasionally be challenging with Yevgeny, but in-person is never a problem and in fact he always goes above & beyond to make sure the customer is 100% completely on board and clear with the next step(s).

I have also found Yevgeny to be 100% honest and forthright and ALWAYS looking for ways the customer can save a bit of money while still keeping the integrity of the work and the materials at the highest level. Which I think is highly unusual and rare from most contractors. I have a feeling that very few contractors are this detailed and this honest and this good, and still have extremely reasonable prices, especially in the city.

In summary, the final product at completion has 100% not only met but EXCEEDED my expectations in every regard, and that includes the revised price after all the extra work that was required.

Yevgeny was great! I requested a quote through yelp, and he replied within the hr and talked me through the considerations for upgrading the electricals in my new home. He provided lots of useful details, gave me pricing ballparks, and helped me understand how to do it right. I really appreciate his time, especially since we were on the phone for 1/2hr at 10pm! Even though it's not an urgent request, he took the time to make sure I understood how to do it right, and that my original plan to just do it cheap may not make much sense given the big picture impact... thumbs up again for his coaching and patience with me (I am pretty clueless on this topic). We were looking to get two toilets replaced in our house and I started Yelping all possible plumbers that could do the job. Came upon General SF's page and was hooked by all the amazing reviews, so I gave them a call. Yevgeny is probably the most honest, hard-working contractor/plumber/handyman I've ever worked with. We hit a few snags during the job (not at all Yevgeny's fault, but rather my store-bought materials that were damaged out of the box). Yevgeny took the time to come to my house late at night to work on the project, explained everything along the way and just made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire process. He never rushed, probably because he takes pride in his work and wants all of us to be 100% satisfied at the end.

Our project took a few days to complete and I'm very pleased with the results. In fact we called Yevgeny back a few days later to clean out bathtub and sink drains that needed some immediate attention. He came out (once again extending his hours into the evening to make it comfortable for me) and did a fantastic job.

I know who I'm calling for any future work around the house...

This is a review from someone who has never posted a Yelp review in the past but felt compelled to post a review for Yevgeny Dublinsky of GeneralSF.
My three unit apartment building's hot water heater stopped working all of a sudden two month ago. It was a Sunday afternoon, and my tenant was complaining of not be able to take shower. I checked Yelp to see if there was anyone who could come and take a look on a Sunday, but unfortunately, most services are closed on weekend. Fortunately, I found GeneralSF, and Yevgeny Dulinsky who answered my call immediately. He told me that he happened to be driving in the neighborhood on his way back from a cancelled appointment (his customer cancelled at the last minute). Lucky for me, he showed up within 10 minutes!
He checked the boiler and found that it was not a mechanical failure, but it was just not working because the switch was flipped to vacation mode instead of Hot mode (thus in dormant). He discovered this error right away, but he still took the time to check my hot water heather carefully to make sure the boiler would work properly when he left, and he didn't charge me a dime for his time and service!
Sometimes repairmen might not be able to show up on time due to traffic or a prior job took longer than planned, but I really appreciated the fact that he was available right away on a Sunday, and I am glad that I found a decent service guy for when I need a repair job next time.

I would like to give Yevgeny 6 stars. He is such a super great person.

Half of the kitchen's electrical outlet was not working, because I used microwave, coffee maker and electric kettle at a same time from same outlet. I thought fuse has burnt because the fuse could not turn on/off.

When I called Yevgeny, he told me to send picture of fuse box and outlet that I used. After that, he returned my call and just taught me how to reset fuse by the phone. Then, my kitchen electrical outlet started working again! And he also suggested me that replacing outlet. Everything resolved by the phone.

I had such a great experience with him & I'll definitely get back to him!

There was no power to one of the kitchen outlets. We tried resetting the circuit breakers, which had always worked before. So we thought it was a more complicated problem that needed an electrician. Yevgeny returned our call, leaving a detailed message. We tried again and this time it worked. I called Yevgeny to thank him-he was very gracious and happy to have helped us. It's been very dry winter in bay area, and one evening about 10 days ago I was so grateful that we were finally having some rain on my way back home. That, in fact, quickly turned into a problem for me, when I found a puddle in my bedroom by the water leak from one of the windows. It was already close to mid-night, so I put some towels underneath, and started calling around early next morning to get some help quickly.

That's how I got contact with Yevgeny at around 7:30am. He was very thorough even during the initial call, asked right questions while dealing with my frustration and devastation, and came over in next a couple of hours with the tools and materials to mend the window leakage. As soon as he arrived, he spotted root cause of the problem quickly, and started sealing the windows, which was one of many other poor job done by the previous contractor to cut corners, while 'renovating'(=flipping) the house before I purchased it last year. So, long story short, I asked him to check out all other windows as well, and not surprisingly, what started from one window frame leak had led to discover that all other windows not sealed on the top edge. Basically, the previous contractor didn't seal the top edge of any windows because it is not visible from the eye level, and sealed all other sides, even where should be left open for water escape, which could've cause the flood if there was a heavy rain.

Once spotted the amount of problems, Yevgeny made some calls to move his schedules around, so that he could fix all the windows correctly & quickly, as it was going to be rainy for next 3 days. He was very thorough & knowledgeable with extensive & broad experiences in fields, shared his findings & approaches honestly & clearly with me, and made sure I could feel comfortable with the problems & coming up with solutions, which could be quite overwhelming and frustrating for an inexperienced house owner.

He stayed for the whole day until late to make sure everything is in order, cleaned out, and even offered me to come back to fix some other little things that I have going on around the house. I'm glad that I found a good, trustworthy contractor who I can see working together for next many years. Thanks again!

In a prior review, Yevgeny made a partial fix to a problem with my water heater. A couple years later and the water heater finally went kaput (it was towards the end of its life). The timing was as bad as it could be, as my wife and I were in the hospital delivering our first baby, so would be coming back to a house with no hot water. Called Yevgeny who managed to fit us into his schedule quickly, order a new water heater on rush delivery (since we needed a non-standard model), and install right away. During the install he made some extra improvements we didn't discuss ahead of time, like upgrading several valves and patching some drywall around the heater - all without increasing the cost of the job. He's a great guy, and I definitely recommend him.

Yevgeny is awesome! We have Yevgeny work on several of our projects and everytime, he has provided excellent customer service and his quality of work is top notch. Yevgeny will take the time to explain the issues, identify the solutions, and provides you options or tfhe repair. Yevgeny has a strong work ethic and it shows in the quality of work that he does. In my last project to repair a leaking bathroom faucet, he took apart the faucet, tightened some bolts, and that took care of the leak. The handle valve did not need to be replaced as we thought. Yevgeny has been to our house twice; first he wore his plumber's hat, then we asked him to come back with his electrician hat on. Both times, he took less than an hour to knock out our problems, talk to us about our plumbing and wiring and then was off. He didn't even charge us the second time. He was super prompt, courteous and efficient. I asked him a ton of questions and he was helpful and explained everything fully. He's not only a super nice guy, but has a strong understanding of houses in the Sunset and San Francisco and their idiosyncrasies.

We are planning a big remodel which will involve tons of electrical and plumbing work and I hope to work with Yevgeny throughout that process. I feel comfortable asking him his opinion on things that will have a major impact on the future of our home.

We had a strange leak coming from the bottom of the dishwasher and wasn't sure if it was a plumbing or an appliance issue. Yevgeny came over and removed some gunk from the vent thingy near the sink and Voila no more leak. Yevgeny came to our apartment on a Sunday afternoon to unclog a shower, which he did expediently and professionally. Since it was a Sunday call and we had paid for an hour's worth of work, he offered to help out us and fix other nagging plumbing and electrical issues in our apartment. He fixed our bathroom sink, diagnosed a dimmer switch problem and took a look at the state of our pipes and gave us an honest assessment of future work. He didn't have to do this. He could have packed up his things and gotten home early. Instead, he stayed the full hour and helped us tremendously. He was professional, courteous and honest. We will use him again for any of our plumbing and electrical needs.

Well, as always, the plumbing problem started on a Friday evening when water in the downstairs bathroom started to overflow. I contacted a plumber we'd used before, who said he'd come the next day. No show, no answers to calls...I started calling people I knew for referrals. No one returned my calls. I checked Yelp, got a callback from a plumber who was too busy to take the job, but referred me to someone else...who didn't answer or return the call. The water department came about 8pm Saturday, but that only helped on the street. Our problem continued. Sunday morning, I searched for any plumber who was working. That was Yevgeny, With some trepidation, I called him. Next time I need any help, he'll be the person I call. He let me know how soon he could arrive, gave us an honest estimate on the phone, revised it when he realized the job might be bigger than he'd thought during the phone call, but then found a way to solve the problem for a much lower amount and with a lot less dislocation. He is honest, hard-working, smart, and did a great job, cleaning up the mess and tackling a few small issues he found in the process. I recommend him to anyone.

Our water heater broke 2 weeks ago, only after 4 years plus! Frantically looking for a plumber, I came across General SF. He was so kind. He called back to ask if everything was ok. When my kitchen sink flooded the cabinet beneath, I was at a loss - especially with 2 young children in the house. To make matters worse, I was 2 weeks post abdominal surgery, so, I was barely able to move. I stupidly flushed a paper towel down my toilet and I called General SF pluming and he was so kind to me on the phone. I was having a really hard day. Had to work super late and was in excruciating pain from a procedure I had earlier in the day and came home to my house COVERED in dog poop (my dog evidently got a sick stomach during the day). I cleaned up with paper towels and I tossed one that was extra gross in the toilet (stupid - I know that now) and the toilet clogged beyond my ability to clear it. This incident was more than I could emotionally handle - I felt like I was having a panic attack. Yevgeny outlined potential solutions and the costs on the phone with me over the phone and was just so so nice. No other plumber I called was willing to give me an idea of cost. I even had a plumber - Heise's Plumbing - verbally accost and scold me, telling me Shame on you! He spoke to me with disgust and sarcasm about what he thought was the f*ck up of my entire lifetime, it was nothing short of bizarre - steer clear of Heise at all costs! I found General SF on Yelp. I started with wanted to open up the kitchen into the living rm. I called him for estimate and he came to see. He gave me an estimate on the spot with how he would do it and suggestions. Very honest from the start. Then i called another Yelp contractor and he came to see. No estimate but said he would email me his two architect/structural engineers. Did not get it at all and so I drew some drawings and got the permit from the city. I called back General SF and he came to start the work.

Before Yevgeny started the work he told me again what he would be doing with the job and stated the payment terms. He also would put in excel the cost for labor and the cost for parts so that I know how much parts cost and what he used. That is great to see that he is not ripping me off.

I really didn't know any good contractors. Previous I hired a chinese contractor and quality of work was not good at all. I'm chinese and I feel that why about chinese contractors. I wanted to test and see the quality of work he does before I have other things from him to work on.

He does great work and does it like his own house. I've seen work done sloppy and he does not do that. Also the great thing is that he will explain to you how, what, and why he is doing it that way. Built to last is like his motto!

I had him work on more like the electrical and plumbing for the kitchen. If you are looking for a guy that does almost every contractor's type of work, he seem to be able to do it.

He is so great that he meets with the city inspectors during inspection and make sure all goes well.

I'll will be using him for future remodels/work!

I recently hired Yevgeny to take on a complete overhaul of a retail space in San Francisco. The project had a few 'surprises' due to the state of the building. However, Yevgeny took each one with a proactive attitude, giving various options and costs on how to proceed (all while dealing with my less enthused self). Furthermore, all the work completed was done the right way, without skipping corners. Everything from the faucet to the screws, he let me know what the best option was and why. My water heater stopped heating on the Labor Day weekend and my usual handyman does not work on water heaters. I found Yevgeny on Yelp and gave him a call. He answered right away on Sunday morning! He guided me over the phone to light the pilot. When the pilot failed to stayed on, he diagnosed the problem and came over an hour later with the replacement part and fixed the water heater. Before he left, he checked all the connections and made sure everything around the water heater was the way they should be. He issued a formal receipt for the payment via email and guarantees his work for 1 year. I like the fact that he is knowledgeable, prompt, professional, and straightforward. I now know whom I'd call whenever I have a plumbing or an electrical problem with my house.

If you have any plumbing issues, Yevgeny Dubinsky at GeneralSF is the person to call. I had a severely backed up sink in my kitchen. After doing everything I could I gave up and called. He arrived when scheduled, he told me right up front what he would do and what it would cost, he went right to work, finished the job, and cleaned up everything when he finished. I think one of problems people often have with plumbers, contractors, mechanics, etc. is you're sometimes not sure if you're getting your money's worth or paying for something you don't need. With Yevgeny I am completely confident that I got quality work at a fair and reasonable price and I intend to call him for any plumbing needs from now on. The electrician who saved Christmas!! Twas the night before Christmas and all through our home, a buzzer was buzzing wherever we roamed. Dinner was ready to cook on the stove, in hopes that the buzzing would no longer rove. All our relatives were waiting for their big feast, with visions of pot-roast and potatoes at the very least. And my wife in her apron, and I in mine too, had found an electrician, a very good one too. When he tested the circuit breakers where all was a buzz, he quickly repaired the problem, like there never one was. Out the door he flew in a flash, after explaining the problem, so never again it would crash. Our Christmas eve dinner was better than ever, buzzerless and bright as so just never say never. When finding a very good electrician on Christmas Eve, seems like the impossible task, because of the fees. Yevgeny is as good as they come. We had an unexpected outage just before the Fourth of July weekend and discovered that some electrical wiring had melted and then disconnected. It not only caused us to lose power but posed a safety threat. I called Yevgeny late on a Friday afternoon and he called me back within 3 minutes. He helped me immediately troubleshoot the issue to make the situation safe and then showed up himself within an hour. He replaced the connection and stayed to ensure that everything in the house was back up and running. I had to replace a section of water pipe that was leaking due to corrosion. We didn't know where the leak started so drywall and ceiling were removed by a mitigation team in the morning. Once we saw the leak, I called generalsf based on their Yelp reviews. They were the only one that could make it out the same day. Service was excellent. Yevgeny took extra time explaining the process behind the corrosion and also took time to show me the other critical areas of our house including electrical. Yevgeny was referred by a friend and I understand why she was very happy with his professionalism....even though our landlord decided to hire a family member to do the work my experience with Yevgeny was extremely positive and professional....he responded quickly and was genuinely concerned for our comfort and relayed his desire to handle the situation immediately....he advised me on how to approach the landlord and sent me a very thorough estimate to send to him....he was very flexible about making sure I had a choice in material and products that would fit our budget.... after spending time assessing the cost and sending me an initial invoice then an amended one based on our conversation he was gracious once he found out the landlord was trying to find a cheap way of handling the issue...what truly amazed me was his offer to do part of the work to insure some relief from the inconvenience for free!...in his words I want to be helpful, its not always about money...who in this time and age still has that type of care for his clients!

Yevgeny completed several electrical projects on our 100+ yr old home. He is very conscientious, efficient, fair and did a great job. He went with me to Lowe's to select the right kind of exterior light as the one I bought would not have worked properly. He did not charge for the time to go to Lowe's, though I would have been willing to pay. He is very meticulous and also tries to avoid unnecessary work and expense to his customers. He is really concerned about doing a great job and ensuring his customers are satisfied with his work. I highly recommend General SF and will look no further for an electrician. He also does plumbing and is a general contractor, so he can see the big picture for more complex jobs and can address several kinds of problems at once.

We discovered we had a gas leak on a very cold Saturday night. Yevgeny worked weekend and late hours to get us up and running again--and even caught and fixed some things that another contractor had messed up. The PG&E rep who came to turn our gas back on even commented on the fast and high-quality work. Very highly recommended!

If you have gone this far to look at a review for a company to help you with your electrical needs LOOK NO FURTHER!!!!! We had our electricity go out & had called PG & E to come out & look at declaring that it was an emergency due to the fact that we were both seniors, one of us in our 90s & the other being up there as well. Of which of course we hit a blank wall when speaking to them. (as to probably been expected) The soonest they could make an appointment was (3) days out after the fact. When they did arrive my partner was able to make it down the steps but not in the conventional way. He ended up falling down the steps to the entry. He was able to open the door but had to have the PG & E man help him up. His hand & wrist was very badly sprained & swollen, twice the size of normal & his leg was scuffed with bleeding. PG & E stated that they could do nothing about it & that we would have to obtain a electrician. So that's when we found General SF. We had explained the situation & what had happened, they were wonderful, they got on the job right away, even with working us in between other jobs that they already had. They had gone well out of their way to accomadate us. Very polite, respectful, punctual, efficient, expedient & cleaned up after themselves after the days work. Everything was up & running at the end of 2 days. As much as I would never state this about any company, It was actually a pleasure to pay the final bill. I will definately be using them in the future, with no further looking. I came out of this a very, very happy customer...............

Yevgeny is great! He is professional and does an awesome job. Besides plumbing or water/gas valve work, he is also very knowledgeable about all the other ins and outs of the other work in the house. I'm definitely going to be a long-time customer as he is reliable and professional. I actually wrote another review previously but surprised that it got filtered. We are extremely pleased with the quality and timeliness of Yevgeny work. I needed a last minute plumber right around the holidays and he was able to get the products I wanted and install them in time. We had closed the restaurant for a two weeks to renovate the restroom and he worked fabulously with the other subs to get the project finished right before opening.

My family and I are extremely grateful to Yevgeny and his associate Daniel for helping us through a difficult situation. We had a serious plumbing issue. I immediately contacted a number of plumbers whose availability ranged from 2-5 days. I called Yevgeny and he took time from his busy schedule and came by to assess the situation WITHIN AN HOUR of my call. We figured out the issue and Yevgeny and Daniel worked tirelessly to get our house in working order and they did so at a very reasonable price. I have no doubt I would've paid through the nose with another plumber. More importantly the work is quality. These are skilled, kind people. I feel very fortunate to have found them because inevitably our home will suffer at the hands of entropy and when it does I will rest easy knowing I can reach out to General SF. Anyone can operate a rooter but when you have more than a clogged drain these are the professionals you should turn to.

Yevgeny did a fabulous job with a small kitchen project - running a water line to a new fridge and adjusting cabinets to accommodate. He came to our house to hear about the request and was meticulous and professional and gave a very detailed outline of what was required. Not only did he do the job on time and on budget, he also noticed that our dishwasher was connected to the cold outlet and corrected. The job was completed with the highest quality components and he took great care to leave our house free of dust or other disturbance. I would recommend and look forward to working with Yevgeny on future projects.

I had a partial power outage in my home and I called Yevegeny Friday morning and he was at my house within a couple of hours. He is very honest, knowledgeable, and courteous. He found the problem quickly and I was lucky it was a simple fix. He was such a nice guy and very fair in what he charged me. I would definitely recommend him!

Yevgeny is great! He's personable, knowledgable, and a hard worker who aims to please his customer. He came over twice to fix my toilet and replaced two parts for it, and was extremely responsive, which is hard to come by in this business. He's a real gem, and I would highly recommend you go to him for all your plumbing needs! I definitely will, and it was my good luck to run into him as he was doing some work for my neighbor who introduced him to me as He's the Best! She couldn't have been more right!

I was very pleased with Yevgeny's prompt response, general availability, easy demeanor and his willingness to work with us to make us truly happy. He gave a more reasonable estimate than other plumbers and then worked with us on the price to come up with a fair price! General SF provided an excellent service for me. It's a Thanksgiving weekend and very few companies are available . After our great party the sync was completely clogged. Eugene from General SF promptly showed up first thing in the morning within half an hour after I called. He was very professional. Put in some protection over the floors brought his tools and everything. He unclogged the pipe and went deeper to make sure there was nothing stuck further down the drain and tested the whole set up with regular sync garbage disposal and a dishwasher water started going down the drain without any issue. He showed me the final test by filling the sync to the brim and it all flowed in very quickly as soon as he pulled the plug. I was very happy and excited that it was all resolved so well. After the work was done and Eugene packed up there was no trace left which was truly amazing . Before leaving Eugene gave me a few tips on what to do so that this does not happen again. Yevgeny returned my phone call immediately unlike the other three contractors I called. He was punctual, super kind and super knowledgable. he fixed my blocked toilet super fast and then took the time to check my kitchen plumbing that had been giving me problems. Even my 17 year old son commented on the genuineness of Yevgeny and just how much you could tell he took his projects seriously. Very reasonable in price. Just a very pleasant experience all around.

Yevgeny has come to rescue us a couple of times. We were having a major leak in our plumbing and he came out after hours to take a look and get us temporarily fixed until our landlord came back to allow more work to be done. Yevgeny was available to take phone calls and provide support while the landlord was gone. I highly recommend using him and think he is very knowledgeable.

Yevgeny was my hero of the day. We lost electricity to about 2/3rds of our house on the Sunday morning of a long weekend. He had me text him some photos to see if he could troubleshoot it over the phone, and then when it was clear that a professional was required, he came to our home. Great communicator, a great electrician, very warm and friendly, and he fixed our problem in a hour. He also offered some good tips and comments for some safety upgrades, but did not try to up-sell us at all. So helpful. Reasonable rates, especially for a weekend emergency call. A real mensch.

Disclaimer: no work was completed this review is in regard to the complete lack of response and Yevgeny leading me to believe he would work on my remodel and then disappearing after I went to the planning dept, wasted an entire day, and paid for the permits.

Basically I called generalSF for a quote for a basic kitchen remodel: install kitchen cabinets, some drywall, prep the the surface for counter top install, a little light plumbing for a new fridge and relocating a gas line. He seemed very interested and helpful at first and I felt really good about our first conversation. He quoted me about $6k for the whole job which i thought was not bad. He insisted the first step was to go pull permits for the project and once I had done that to call him back to schedule the work to commence. I don't know if there is a language barrier or what but I went the NEXT day paid the $600 and pulled the permits with the city. When I called Yevgeny back he insisted that he was completely on board and to submit everything through his website so he would have a record of the address and the job etc. Which I did 3 times. I called to make sure he received it, he said he would look and that he was very busy. No response. I called again, again I was assured that he would take the job and that he would call me back. A week I wasted waiting around for this guy, even turned down a reputable contractor that was a bit higher but could start ASAP, not to mention that I didn't even need to pull the permit the contractor is supposed to. Really frustrated that he wasted my time and lead me on. I know we didn't have a contract but I am just really sick of all these flaky contractors out there. Ended up going with Yiu Wong Construction and they have been awesome so far.

Yvgeney came out within 30 minutes of my call about a problem with an underground water line. He inspected it and gave me great advice about how to deal with it economically. He was methodical, clear, and unrushed. I will definitely call him for any future plumbing or electrical needs.

A trustworthy and professional contractor is difficult commodity to come by, Yevgeny arrived promptly and spent about 20 minutes diagnosing a problem with my kitchen sink. He explained how to fix it and the best place to get a new faucet. What a helpful and nice guy!

Yevgeny is great. I called him with an urgent request to help with a leak in our garage, and within 15 minutes he was outside our house ready to help. After fixing two separate pressing issues, he offered to take a look at any other issues we were having at the house. He is true professional and helpful for any plumbing, GC, or electrical issue you may have. Yevgeny comes highly recommended, and I will definitely be calling him again in the future.

Yevgeny is fast, efficient, honest, reasonably priced, and a delight to work with. I called him on Sunday afternoon to report a plumbing issue at my parents' house. He agreed to visit at 11am the next morning, and he arrived on time (he even called me twenty minutes before his arrival to confirm the visit and let me know he was on his way). He quickly discovered what the plumbing problem was, quoted a very reasonable rate, and took care of the issue in no time. He was also very kind and professional with my parents, in particular my Dad, which I greatly appreciated. The consensus with my family is that Yevgeny is terrific and we will definitely use him for all of our future plumbing/contracting jobs.

Our 20+ yr old water heater broke when my husband and I were on vacation- ack! The day we got back we were desperate to get a replacement ASAP. Yevgeny came to our rescue and truly went above and beyond. He had to special order our new water heater, waited for it to come in, picked it up, took out the old heater and installed the new one, all within the same day. He told me that he would work as long as it took to give us hot water by that night, and kept his word. Our entire experience with him was fantastic. I couldn't recommend him any higher!

Our home suffered a partial blackout. 1/2 the house had power and the other half did not. We had called 2 other electricians and left multiple messages over a period of about two weeks. Never did get a response. By the way, those two other electricians are on this site. So we finally called this gentleman and got a phone response within a few minutes. He showed up in the afternoon as he had stated and began troubleshooting the problem. Within a very short time he found the problem. It was a PG&E problem and he instructed us to call them, which we did. PG&E responded and before 6:00 Pm that day our Power was fully restored. The wife was ecstatic that we had power again. Our surprise came when this electrician called later that evening to see if we had power restored. It was the most courteous callback we ever received. Could not be happier with the results. I highly recommend this gentleman. I saw this episode as a Divine Intervention.

Once he was there he was able to solve the problem and get the power back on within a few minutes. He also didn't charge me for the visit. He was very professional and responsive.

Yevgeny is awesome! Highly recommend him. He has been to our house about 4 times now, fixing a variety of plumbing and electric problems. He is honest and good-hearted and very reasonably priced. He works odd hours (including very late at night sometimes) but if that works for you all the better. He is also a conscientious guy who will advise you on various other things he sees as problems as he looks around your house to fix the problem you called him for. Yevgeny is a safety-first guy and he takes pride in doing a good job for a great price. He is also pleasant to have around, which is important when someone is inside your home.

Yevgeny came out to my home to assess a job to retrofit my home. He did a thorough evaluation of my place and then said that he could not accept the job because there was nothing to be done! Instead of tying to take advantage of me, he told me that, if it ain't broke, then don't fix it. Seems like this guy has high integrity and personal values.

This time I tried to ask him to install a reverse-RO water filter. He not only give me advice for the problem of the pipe for my dish washer, garbage disposer and air gap, he also fixed all of them of me in a very reasonable price. His work is as good as a plumber expert (That's what my plumber friend said). Highly recommended.

We got a new hot water heater replaced by him. We recommended him to our neighbor who also got a ~20 yr old hot water heater replaced. I should have done this earlier because the water temperature works so much better. He was excellent as usual. After my friend told me about how he got his replaced by a random guy who was cheap and caused additional problems because he didn't ground the wires on top, didn't flush the system, etc...we are very happy with Yevgeny. Highly recommend him.

Had a problem with low water pressure in the kitchen faucet and no water pressure on the dishwashing machine and pot-filler faucet. Yevgeny showed up on time and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem on a Sunday. He also responded to my questions pertaining to a wall leak during heavy rain (possible roof /vent issue to be checked at a later time with a ladder) and was pro-active in evaluating and providing constructive feedback to questions. Something he has that money cannot buy is his honesty (tries to save you money) and ability to diagnose problems quickly and accurately. When asked how much is the damage, he simply asked me to give him whatever I think is fair......that is a first for me from a contractor. I just hope I gave him enough. He is certainly on my A-list for any home repairs that comes up in the future.

Our experience working with Yevgeny was consistent with what many others have already said: He was reliable. He was very knowledgeable, and he was prompt about completing the work that needed to be done--he took care of our issue the day after our initial phone conversation with him. However, what really stood out was his honesty. We called him about a drainage backup that we had with our ancient washtub, and he asked that we send him a phone shot. After he received it, he came up with two options to resolve the issue, one of which was significantly more costly than the other. If his intentions were to just make a profit, he certainly wouldn't have given us options in which there was such a huge difference in the costs involved. Since we're on a tight budget, we opted for the lower cost solution (which was very reasonable) and he promptly took care of the work within the timeframe that he had given us up front. When he came over to work on the tub, he also gave us useful advice about its maintenance, and about a few other things in our garage. We highly recommend him, and will definitely be calling him in the future if we ever need any more work done around our house.

Yevgeny is a true professional! I am very lucky to have found someone skilled, honest and trustworthy to work on my home in Daly City. I recommend anyone to use this pulling company. The shower tamp on my faucet broke and I couldn't get anyone to come look at it for 2 days, a long time to go workout a shower. General SF had me text a photo of the parts and came within a few hours. It took him about 5 minutes to fix it and he asked me to name my own rate, beyond reasonable. He was very polite and courteous. I definitely won't call anyone else with plumbing issues in the future.

We used Yevgeny to repair the wooden stairs outside our Edwardian building. The bottom three stairs were failing. He did an excellent job of bracing and securing the stairs so that we did not have to replace the whole staircase. He was very thorough and professional and kept the cost within the estimate he had provided (even though the work took longer than expected, incurring additional labor expenses which he did not charge for.) He also took us on a tour of the basement, pointing out areas which needed work - electrical and plumbing. He seems very knowledgeable. We will use him again for additional work. A job very well done!

I called Yevgeny because of the great reviews his company had received on Yelp! and he did not disappoint. He was very responsive and came out quickly to my location in order to assess the problem with my roof and recommend a solution. He was very communicative and easy to work with.
