Out of all of the places I reached out to via Yelp's project feature, Ed was the quickest to reply and had the most reasonable rate. After sending a few pictures of the panel and subpanel, I had my appointment scheduled for the next week.

I had initially scheduled him for a Friday morning to get my Tesla charger on my house which was made in the 80s and has a bit of an older panel.

After Ed arrived, he took a look and gave a few options based on the location of the installation I wanted, one of which was using the existing sub panel and running conduit all the way to the garage door or add an additional sub-panel from the main panel and connecting the Tesla charger to that new subpanel.

Ed asked what I wanted to do, go with the original plan of running the conduit across the entire garage or go with the new sub-panel which would present the cleanest installation & would save me $700-800 on the install. The only downside is he would have to re-schedule the appointment.

With no pressure on the route I wanted to go with of keeping the current appointment and plan or rescheduling for the new suggestion, I decided to go with the new option. Ed was great in being able to move things around and accommodate me 3 days later and completed the install in 2 hours. Clean installation and even cleaned up the garage from the drilling, leaving the space looking cleaner than it was when he arrived.

I got my Tesla charger installed and Ed was awesome. He was on time for my appointment and explained exactly what he will be doing and once he installed, walked me through the steps again on what he did and educated me on how many miles per hour I can get with my EV charger.

We recently placed an order for a 2023 Tesla Model Y and wanted to get our charging situation at home squared away prior to taking delivery of the vehicle. Ed was one of several people I reached out to for a quote, but he was the most detailed from the get go. We exchanged a few messages, during which time Ed asked questions to understand our home, electrical panel, and the desired location of the charger. He also requested a few photos of the panel, after which he provided a detailed estimate--outlined everything that would be included with the installation based on the proposed charger location. He also offered the option to purchase the Tesla Wall Connector from him (at the same cost as if you purchase from Tesla), so we took him up on that.

We scheduled the installation for the next week. On installation day, Ed texted me when he was on the way, showed up on time, and was very friendly and professional as we chatted for a bit. When he began the installation, he estimated that it would take 1 - 1.5 hours, so we left him to it. We checked in on him not even an hour later and he was done and already cleaning up. The Wall Connector was of course installed cleanly and situated perfectly on our garage wall.

Ed hooked up the Connector to our Wifi and it updated immediately. He then provided a thorough explanation of its features, answered our questions, and also gave us some tips and advice from his own experience with Teslas. As others have mentioned, when he was done the area was cleaner than it was before he started.

Fantastic experience all the way. I'll suggest Ed to anyone in need of an EV installation, and will not hesitate to hire him again should the need arise.

Absolutely amazing service! Reached out to Eduardo asking for a quote, got back to me with a virtual quote then a follow up in person meeting to give me a more accurate quote.

By the next Friday the charger was installed and it only took about 2 hours which included running a bunch of wiring under our house then decking and into our garage. To top it all off, the tidiness of the work was immaculate!

Ed helped me fix a NEMA 14-50 outlet that was flipped the wrong way by another installer. He pointed out some drawbacks of the cheap receptacle that had been installed without putting on too much sales pressure, which I appreciated, and I was happy with the upgraded receptacle he provided along with the quick and accurate work.

T H E   L O N G E R   S T O R Y:
Our home was already prewired to install a car charger. So easy way of doing this was to have a NEMA 14-15 outlet installed into the junction box. But we wanted to have a wall connector just so we have the option to get the fastest charging we could at home and since we didn't get a mobile charger, might as well utilize that $200 credit from Tesla right?

I started my search through Yelp and started a project. I initially reached out to 5 other companies before I landed with Ed. One told me flat out, I couldn't install the wall connector with our current set up in the garage and that installing a NEMA 14-15 outlet was the only option. This was suspect as they had installed our neighbor's wall connector and also increased their breaker to 60 amps from 50. Also he's done so many other people's wall connectors in the area that I felt like he just didn't want to do my easy work. Another told me that they could install above the junction box by pulling wires through the wall. Another (who was a Tesla recommended electrician) said they could do it to the side of the junction box or above. Another just had an extravagant price that I was like...yeah no. Another had the cheapest price, but the work they did in our neighbor's garage was far less than aesthetic with an external flexible metal conduit from the junction box to the wall connector.

I was about to settle with one of the 5 but my last interaction with our initial chosen company left me with slight anxiety and just something didn't feel right. So I tried one more search on Yelp. I saw EV Charging Solutions was in Tracy, but he did service our area (Fremont) so I took a breath and sent him my project alongside a few photos of our current setup and the breaker box and just hoped for the best. Basically same day, he asked a couple more questions and provided me with the clearest, step-by-step, line itemized what I'd do to get this done and a straight forward quote that was very reasonable. My interaction with him versus the other companies was like night and day. It was a breath of fresh air. I didn't feel like I was questioning my sanity because I knew this could be done and placed right above the junction box with little to no problems. At this point my gut told me, this is the guy. He's the one and this is why I shouldn't settle.

I then asked when he would be available, and we scheduled roughly a couple weeks out which worked out perfectly for me.

Ed texted me the day prior to our appointment to confirm the time and date. He also texted me as he was on route to our home. When he arrived, he was as pleasant to talk with as on Yelp messaging. He did provide another option for us when he saw our set up in person in case we wanted to keep the junction box as is, but we did end up just going with the initial suggestion of placing on top of the junction box and also increasing our breaker to 60 amps as our wiring was able to handle it. He was never pushy and he welcomed any of our electrical questions.

After deciding the setup, Ed basically said it would take roughly an hour to do everything including wifi setup. And true to his word, basically in about an hour, everything was done, he texted me to come out to the garage (we may have not heard him knock on the garage door as it was a little further from where we were), and our wall connector was beautifully installed. It was what I envisioned and he made it to reality. He showed us some photos of the inside wiring, showed us how to use the wall connector as well as some tips about charging. He again asked us if we had any questions and he kindly answered all of our concerns. As a Tesla owner himself, it was great to pick his brain just to ensure what I've been learning/researching was in line with his experience.

After everything, I easily paid through Venmo. He also takes other payments just ask :)

I could not give higher praise to Ed Gomes and how he is running EV Charging Solutions. Anyone who is new to the EV (electric vehicle) world, as I am, will attest to the minefield that has to be navigated in installing a home charging system. My first port of call was a preferred supplier with several of the major vehicle manufacturers - and that call/estimate put the fear of god into me, and they stated my house might not have the requisite amperage being supplied to the house to install a home charger (that might require an upgrade from PG&E that could run into the tens of thousands), but they could solve that with a system of theirs that ran into the several thousands of dollars up to ~$10,000.

I nearly went that path until I found Ed Gomes. Within two minutes of talking to him, he calmed my nerves and explained in very simple terms how things worked - and having seen my power boxes, I indeed DID NOT need a PG&E upgrade and he could install a home charging unit to my needs in a fraction of the time and cost.

Within days we had the appointment and his communication on every aspect was polite, respectful and as professional as I have ever experienced. Hi was accommodating of my days and time windows - he was punctual to the appointment - and his work was meticulous with every care taken to clean up and leave the space perfect.

Ed is phenomenal!  I installed a Lucid charger and he was great and detailed through the quoting process.  Had to move a few things on the panel to make room for a DC charger and he was very thorough, creative, and safe.  Ended up with a faulty charger and needed to wait for a replacement from Lucid.  Ed didn't even take payment until things were completely done.  He followed up regularly (not pushy) to make sure customer service was giving me the right info along with timing for the unit.  Once I had the replacement, he came out within a couple of days and replaced the faulty unit.  

Ed is a true professional with great engagement, knowledge, and customer service attitude.  I will be recommending him to all my friends looking to do a EV setup.

My guy Eduardo over here is an excellent EV installation technician. First lets start with the pricing, the guy comes in at an incredibly fair rate, he doesn't over charge on the hardware he used, it was at market value, that's a +1 to Yelp stars. Next he gave me the run down on how to optimally operate the charging system so that the Tesla didn't charge while simultaneously drain our bank accounts, another star for this one. It wasn't even part of his job, but he took the time to explain how my existing Solar Panels worked, because we recently moved into the house, gave me a serious educational run down which I am appreciative, another star for this guy. Overall he earned every dollar and it was an absolute pleasure working with him! If you have EV needs, this is your guy, no joke!

It is a late review but Ed came to San Francisco in late Feb to installed a indoor Nema 14-50 plug.
Ed was great from the beginning before I had my Tesla. During the whole 3 months waiting for my Tesla, He answered all my questions, very knowledgeable and was very professional throughout the 3 months i reach out to him.

There were electricians who provided quotes of $300, up to $1,200.  Ed's quote landed right in the middle.  The reason why I chose Ed over the cheaper $300 quotes was because he was very professional from my first conversation with him.  I was confident that he would be the right person for the job.  He was extremely detailed on how he would do the install over the phone as well as in person.

Ed installed my Wallbox charger, the work was clean, it looks great, he explained everything thoroughly, got the charger set up on the Wallbox app, everything completed in a couple hours. Thorough, polite, professional, great price, too, a strong recommendation for Ed and EV Charging Solutions.

Reached out to Eduardo to install a NEMA outlet. My home was pre-provisioned with an electrical box. We discussed the situation over text, sent a couple of pictures over text, discussed the price and scheduled an installation.

Eduardo arrived on time for the installation and got the job done on time. He even ensured that his wiring was future proof , as in, capable of charging at higher speeds.

I chose this company after contacting 10 plus companies. I'm so glad I went with this company! This man is what all companies should model after. He was professional, knowledgeable, and came on time. He made sure all my answers were answered and made the process a lot easier. He came with all the equipment he needed for the job and did not have to run to the store which takes more time. He explained everything along the way as he was going. He tighten and made sure everything was safe. This is very important as your dealing with a lot of power coming from your breaker. He also did load calculating to make sure the panel was safe for installation. When the was done he cleaned up all the debris left behind. He even takes you step by step to connect your charger to Wi-fi. Overall it was a clean, fast, professional install.  The best part was he didn't rob me like other companies wanted to. He could have charged me more and I would have been happy!  This five-star deserves more if I could.

Ed did an amazing job doing a hardwire installation of a ChargePoint Home Flex inside my garage. He was extremely friendly and responsive by text and provided by far the best price of all the quotes I received. Ed arrived early for the scheduled appointment (texting me when he was 10 mins away) and finished the job in less than an hour with time to spare to nerd out about EVs and answer my what-is-that-thing-in-my-garage questions. I was looking for someone who could install an outlet, so we could charge our electric car. I met Ed when he was doing a install for a friend who had just received a Rivian truck. Their install looked great, so I asked him to pop over when he was finished since we live one street over.

We've had EVs for a number of years (Volt, Bolt and now Model 3 and X) and we've been using a Clipper Creek charger for all. The charger was installed inside our garage using a Nema 14-50 plug. I asked Ed for his thoughts on moving the charger to outside the garage to make charging simplified. He asked if we wanted to keep our current charger or upgrade to a Tesla charger. He had some insights as to what would work best for us, but the clincher was that he actually had Tesla chargers in stock and could do an install whenever was convenient for us.

He did a full inspection of our current setup, noted what he would have to do for his own installation, and provided a great price for materials and installation. The charger was included without markup which is a great testament to his customer service focus.

Within a few days of meeting, he texted to confirm an install date and pricing. On the day of install, he texted when he was 10 minutes out, arrived promptly on time, and got to work. You can tell the professionalism of someone by the work vehicle they show up with. Ed's truck was equipped with everything he needed for the install, and he didn't need to leave the premises to go buy something at Home Depot. That says a lot about the way he conducts his business--efficient, fast and thorough.

On site, his install was impeccable. He had to remove the old charger and remove the older conduit pipe to install the new ones. His final work was super clean, looked awesome in the garage and the exterior fitting of the hard wired Tesla charger on our outside wall looks amazing.

More importantly, everything works as expected. We're now getting max charge as we can for our 50 amp breaker and our miles per hour charge has increased as a result. I appreciate the fact that Ed also looked into upgrading our breaker to 60 amp (without us asking him to) but was unable to due to previous electrical wiring in the garage. He also brought to our attention some potential issues with our main control panel which he helped troubleshoot for further follow up. This attention to detail is highly impressive.

Ed is the real deal folks. He knows A LOT about EVs, he's clearly an EV aficionado, and he's an amazing electrician to boot. If you are in the market for an EV charger installation/panel upgrade, Ed is your man.

If you're looking for an EV charging install, I highly recommend EV Charging Solutions. Eduardo is fantastic. Like others have stated, he is super responsive. But more importantly he is thorough, efficient, honest and transparent, and backs his work with warranty. Beware of EV Installation vendors who give you a quote based on limited information. Eduardo asked a lot of good questions up front (location of fuse box, location of charger, estimated distance between the two, pictures of fuse box...) which made his original price estimate (which is very competitive) pretty darned accurate. He was also very upfront which I appreciated. When he initially saw my fuse box in the pictures, because of how my breakers and fuses were allocated, he told me that I can't get the 60A that I wanted based on that initial inspection (and workaround solutions might cost more). However when he came to my place to do an in-person inspection, he discovered that a few breakers weren't being used, and he found a clean and creative proposal to move breakers around to free up 60A! Also during the inspection, he planned out how he was going to do all the wiring to keep it hidden and out of the way.

Then on install day, he showed up earlier than he said he would, and finished the job in less time as well! Quick. Clean. Efficient. Thoughtful and professional. Here is the icing on the cake... as he was moving my breakers around in the fuse box, it freed up 2 unused slots. He ended up taking two dummy breakers and putting them in there. Why? He said that if I were to ever sell the house, home inspectors don't like to see blank fuse slots, and he wanted to make that experience was good as possible as well.

This is what you want in a contractor partner. Someone who not only solves your immediate need, but has foresight and care about your future.

Ed was amazing throughout the entire experience. Owning an EV is a very new experience for me, so when it came to getting a charger I didn't know what I wanted vs what I needed. It would have been very easy for any business to take advantage of my lack of knowledge to make a quick buck. Not the case with EV Charging Solutions. Ed took time to chat with me, understand what my needs were, and was super patient with my onslaught of questions. Eduardo did a great job installing my new Tesla HPWC! Even though I was not home for the installation, he was very professional and kept me updated  with photos after completion. Over the last several months I have had Ed work on a number of small to medium jobs for me. He has exceeded my expectations. I can't say enough good things about Ed. He is fast but meticulous. Really knowledgeable. I thought for being so young that he couldn't possibly be that experienced but trust me he is and then some. I love his story too: working with his dad from a young age putting those 10,000 hours in and he loves to do this type of valuable work.

I am someone who likes to ask a lot of questions and compared to other handymen and contractors I have worked with he is very patient. He is such a down to earth, calm and genuine guy. Will almost always give you multiple options including some you can do yourself for a fraction of the cost if the option is there and will give you tips too. He explains things very well and puts you at ease. I also like that he pushed back on a couple of requests he didn't feel comfortable doing himself. I say this because I have had handymen or contractors in the past that have over-committed to doing additional work they weren't experienced enough at and the work ended up looking lousy.

Here is some of the work he has done for me:
 - Installed an outdoor ring camera flood light. The work with the wiring was super clean and professional. I was expecting a good job but this was one of many things he did that fair exceeded my expectations.
 - Moved a garage outlet and installed new GFCI outlet. The previous one and the position of it was too close to a waterspout, posing a hazard I worried about for quite some time. So happy he did this and again such a professional job!
 - Installed a retractable extension cord on the garage ceiling which comes in handy for vacuuming the car in front of the garage, working with power tools and for our treadmill that is in the garage.
- Removed a bike hoist from my ceiling (it no longer worked for us because it was getting in the way of things). He suggested and installed some side rack mounts instead. These are a way better option for us. Makes the bikes more accessible and more likely to be used.
- Installed a motion-sensor side yard light.
- He removed a pedestal sink from my downstairs bathroom and did the work necessary to install a combo cabinet sink: cut the baseboards, installed faucet, did the plumbing underneath, secured it, re-positioned the hand towel holder and mirror and installed a toilet roll holder. Excellent job!
 - Fixed a recessed light on my high ceiling. The housing had previously been pulled out of the ceiling.
 - Fixing a broken stair nose, replaced multiple doorknobs, installed cabinet rollout racks, fixed plumbing issue with dishwasher.  Replaced kitchen faucet.
 - Installed some fence panels, properly securing them in place including giving me two gate openings. This work was done to prevent our dogs from peeing on and killing plants.
 - Fixed multiple electrical outlets upstairs that had been non-functional for years. We had previously done all the 101 troubleshooting and attempts at fixing: GFCI switch reset, breaker reset but to no avail. At first, he tried one thing then another and then another until he finally figured it out. He did the job of a professional electrician and he traced the issue down to an outlet downstairs. I never would have guessed that to be the source of the problem. Amazing job!

Ed is someone I can trust and I am happy to have met him and to have had him do all this work. I am extremely satisfied. I will continue using his services any time I have these jobs I can't do myself: whether it be for lack of time, skill or both :-).

Update to my previous review.  I got my Tesla a few weeks after EV Charging Solutions did my install.  I set my car to charge Sat night at midnight.  Well, half my circuit blew and I woke up at 4am on Sunday morning with my power out.  I texted Eduardo at 8am on Sunday morning in a panic as my refrigerator was out and food would go bad and my wife and I work long hours during the week so it would not be easy to get someone to come out. Could I find an electrician to come out on Sunday? Here's where Eduardo saved the day.  He drove from Tracy to San Jose (family in tow) to diagnose and fix the problem.  It turns out it had nothing to do with the wiring Eduardo did but was the original outside main circuit breaker in my 50 year old home which went bad.  He fixed it and made sure everything was up and running before he left.  C'mon, who provides that level of service to their customers? Only the owner of a company who truly cares about their clients would do such a thing. As much as I care about having a great job at a good price (which Eduardo did), I also care about follow up and a company standing behind their work (and this wasn't even Eduardo's work he was fixing). The bottom line is that Eduardo and EV Charging Solutions are the real deal and that rare combination of Excellent work, good price, and outstanding Customer service and care.  I am full of gratitude to Eduardo. I can't remember the last time I felt this way about any company.

Ed did an amazing job with the Tesla Wall Connector installation. The entire process is very smooth and quick.  Below is the step by step process working with Ed.

1. Reached out to Ed from Yelp for quote regarding the EV charger installation and got a quick response with few follow up questions.
2. Sent him the photo of our electric panel outside of the garage and got detailed instructions and plan of installation and we agreed upon a date.
3. On the day of installation, Ed showed up on time and finished the work all by himself and called us to verify.
4. And done. Verified that everything is setup properly and working.

Edd is super professional, knowledgeable, responsible person, who helped me install Tesla charger. He is so nice and easy going, and we have good communication in working on this project. I really recommend his busines, and I will call him back if I need help in the future.

Ed installed the Tesla wall charger in my garage, and the whole experience was pretty awesome and smooth. When I called few other contractors on yelp, they barely had time to speak/respond reasonably with a quote and was quite a hassle to get a hold on generally with the EV charger demand going up lately. However, with Ed, it was so easy to speak over the phone, was super responsive throughout getting my questions answered and getting a range of quote over the phone and scheduling was a breeze. He was very patient during installation while explaining all the installation options/intricacies involved with my breaker/wiring and I also felt comfortable with that knowledge.  His rates are very reasonable and affordable and also got installation of Nest video doorbell while at it. After installation, he also helped me navigate through phone/wifi setup without rushing to leave. Overall, I highly highly recommend Ed for any of his electric services and EV charger installations in particular!

We had our electric car charger installed recently by Ed. It was an amazing experience. He was very responsive, does the job so perfectly and pricing is very reasonable. He went over a beyond to make sure we got what we needed keeping safety and pricing in mind. Very thoughtful and flexible approach to everything . We are loving our new Chevy Bolt level 2 charger. I give credit where it's due and Ed, surely deserves this review. I needed some items (6) to be put together as they all came in boxes. After numerous request from family to help to no avail, I decided to look online for a handyman. Out of 4 replies, (Ed being the 1st), I went with the most reasonable and because he replied immediately. He contacted me, gave me a rate and scheduled my appointment for two days later. He was on time, very professional, not pushy, came with all his tools, very pleasant and if I don't mention how handsome he is, It would be a disservice! I felt very comfortable with him and although he had to break up my job and continue the following week (due to my work schedule and other commitments), he returned to complete the jobs as planned. Again, being in time and very pleasant and professional.
I would definitely hire him again and for sure would recommend him to anyone needing furniture assembling (beds, tv stands, bookshelf's, dressers), curtain rods, ceiling fans installed, solar spot lights installed). You name it and he can pretty much do it.

Here is the work he did for me

Ed was a big help when he installed out level 2 home charger. Not only did he install the unit exactly how we wanted it he even offered some tips/advice before and after the installation. This is all new to my wife and I so we had a lot of questions and Ed was extremely patient with us as he answered all our questions with detail. If all goes well we might get a 2nd EV in which case we will definitely use his services again.

Ed installed a EV charger outlet in my garage yesterday and I had a satisfying experience from getting the estimates and the final outcome. Ed knows his stuff!! He was able to come up with creative ways to get the connection from panel outside the house and placing the outlet almost 15 feet inside. Very neatly done and he tested all connections, explained all the details on various Amp usage scenarios and cleaned up before leaving.

Eduardo was on time, organized and informative throughout the process.  We had two exterior lights installed on our garage and we are very pleased with the work done.  We will definitely call Eduardo first for future projects.

Needed three pictures placed over the fireplace and two light fixtures changed out. Ed showed up on time, brought everything he needed and was very professional. He took the time to measure everything and make sure that the pictures were evenly spaced and leveled over the fireplace, he paid attention to detail. He changed the light fixtures and made sure to clean up after himself. Eill definitely use handyman Ed again!

I am so happy with how everything came out. Eduardo was so great and did an amazing job. I had him come out to install my tv and a light fixture and he did more than that. He installed the tv above the fireplace, shelf below the tv, ran the wire strip so no wires are visible, installed the light fixture and installed the wall art on each side of the tv. Ed completed a number of jobs in our new house and his work truly made it a home! I am so impressed with the range of Ed's skills. Ed came to our  home for minor electrical work and to fix a door lock. He explain the process for both  as he went along  including what  needed to be done to complete the repairs.
