We had a complete spa and pool re-plastering and re-tiling done in the spring of 2022. The salesperson from the pool plaster company said, Don't worry about the spa leak, I've been around pools for 50+ years and the re-plastering and re-tiling will FOR SURE fix your leak. Trust Me.

Well many $$$ later, the pool and spa looked beautiful, but WE STILL HAD A LEAK. I had two questionable experiences with Sacramento area leak detection companies that will remain unnamed. I will just say they were not positive experiences and they did cost me money.

Fortunately I lucked out and found Erik Beck, owner of EB Leak Detection. Right off the bat when I first met Erik, it was a totally different feeling. Erik is very personable, listens well, and is quite skilled. He has 10 years of experience working for other leak detection companies and pool companies. He felt he could do a better job than his former companies, and so about a year or two ago opened his own business.

Did I mention that Erik is also a licensed plumber? That is a real bonus when you are trying to track down pool leaks. Erik found a leak with his high tech leak detection equipment and his two workers Rilyn and Jordan, carefully dug up the concrete decking next to the spa to repair it. Unfortunately, that was not our only leak. Erik came back out with diving gear and was able to find a SECOND leak going out the back side of the LED light along the power cord. We had new LED lights put in and the cord did not get wrapped and waterproofed.

So in summary, it was a delight to work with Erik, Rilyn and Jordan. Competent, friendly, persistent, honest, and a breath of fresh air in an industry that has a very shady feel to it. So if you have a pool leak, Erik definitely is your guy. I told him he should change his company name to The Leak Detective, because he does not give up, and he certainly had many opportunities to give up and throw in the towel on my leak(s) because they were not easy to find, and the two companies that came before him WERE NOT EVEN CLOSE to what the cause of the leaks were.

Our pool was leaking and we had Erik come out to find the problem.  After spending about 2 hours he had found what looked like 1 leak and was back the next day to fix it.  The leak was right were he thought it was and was able to do the repair without us needing to have cement removed (Yea, the location was in a good place). Performed a pressure test which confirmed a leak, and he was able to narrow it down to a hot water pipe and find the pipe in the wall, cut out the wall, and found the exact spot of the leak all within two hours. I called on Saturday and Eric responded and set up an appointment for Monday Afternoon.
I had a 50 ft. tree removed from front lawn and shortly after I had stump ground. Water started to seep in and thought maybe broke a line.

He showed up promptly and did thorough test on all my main lines, irrigation, and pool tests.
Everything checked out ok and we made a couple of adjustments and he called me back the next day to check in and has communicated everyday since.

We recently bought a home with a pool that had a very obvious leak in it, losing about 1/2 inch of water or more per day. Our chems were super off balance because of it, so it was important to determine where the leak was and fix it. I had nightmares about the type of leak that might be found. From my first conversation with Erik, I could tell he was very knowledgeable. We decided to hire him vs. a bigger leak detection co. and I'm so glad we did. He found the leak, temporarily patched it and came back to dive and complete a more permanent fix. He also completed two drain cover and several jet cover replacements that needed to be done while he was already diving. He was great to work with from start to finish and made a not-so-fun service run very smoothly. He explained everything very thoroughly and answered any questions that came up. Additionally, we felt that his pricing was very fair. We highly recommend Erik and you will not be disappointed going with him vs. one of the bigger companies with handfuls of different technicians. After noticing significant water loss in my in-ground gunite pool I called EB Leak Detection. Erik responded quickly and scheduled a two hour appointment to determine the leak. Prior to his work he detailed the process and provided a quote. He found the leak in a PVC return line in the gunite wall. I chose his repair option of boring a new hole through the gunite and running a new line. His team returned at a later date to complete the repair. All communication I had with Erik was responded to quickly. I highly recommend this business if a pool leak is the issue.

At first I thought this company was a very legitimate company but once I realized that they are just out for money and don't really care about their customers I have to take that back. I recently moved to Fairoaks and I called upon this company because I was told there was a leak in my system from a pool guy and he came out said he detected the leak he was wrong his workers came out they were wrong then they dug three holes in my concrete with a jackhammer and then said they fix the problem but right after that my pool started draining which it did not do before and now I am in a battle with this person named Eric trying to get my money back or him to fix the problem I can literally put all the text that he sent about him saying he's done the job but how did my pool start leaking after he said he fixed the problem after the third time   Sorry about my punctuation as I am talking to text but I highly highly recommend that nobody uses this company and I will be in a lawsuit with him

Erik was great!  We had a leak in the Master Bath but didn't know where it was originating. We were alerted when an area of the floor planks started lifting up. We recently moved to the home, so we called our home warranty people who sent a plumber. The plumber cut 2 holes into the walls and still had no idea where the leak was coming from.

We decided to hire a leak detection service and called EB Leak Detection. Erik fit us into his schedule the next day and immediately spotted the source. He did all the tests which did confirm his first thought - that the tile in the shower wasn't caulked well and water was getting in through the holes in the grout.

Erik sent me a full report the next day, complete with pictures! We appreciate having a technician that really knows his job!  Now we can hire a remediation company to dry out all the water.

We used EB recently to locate a leak in our pool. They were very professional. The process went exactly as described in our first conversation over the phone, including accurate estimates. They found our leak in the joint between the pool and skimmer, described what was going on and provided an estimate to repair. The repair likewise went as planned and according to the estimate. They even made a few minor repairs to other areas along the way to prevent further leaks. A couple of weeks in and the leak is gone. I would definitely recommend this company.

Major leak at main shut on/off valve for our house.

We had San Juan water out to help us find  a leak. Once located to a general area, I called three leak detection companies to pinpoint said leak and get quote to repair. This was on a Thursday and all three companies could not get to us to even pinpoint the leak until the following Wednesday at the earliest. And if it was raining, we'd have to reschedule. I called EB and Erik was able to fit us in later that day. Eric located the leak in 10 minutes and had quote prepared for me immediately. I scheduled right then and there to have leak repaired on Saturday.

Eric was extremely professional and prompt. Excellent communication and I feel price was fair. Throughout the entire repair Eric would update me. He showed me the leak, the actual cracked pipe, why/how it cracked and how he would repair it. I saw the finished job before he repaired the cement. The patch job on my cement was perfect. The next day Eric sent me a detailed report and photos of the repair before and after.

Erick was through and professional. After he pressure tested the shower handle valve and piping he quickly diagnosed a faulty shower drain flange... he even offered to look at  any other problems we might have since he still had time before his next appointment.  He tested some warped baseboards I had recently noticed on our other shower, and was able to determine everything was dry and the damage was also from the previous owners.

So glad I contacted Erik about the pooling water in our crawl space. He thoroughly checked out all of our potential areas for water leaks inside and out (house piping, toilets, valves, irrigation, etc.). He even advised me on how to simply test our swimming pool for a leak myself before his scheduled appointment!  Yup, ruled that out. His determination that the crawl space water accumulation was due to rain water intrusion was very assuring as it now allows me to specifically target the area I now need to construct my footer drain and minimize my own labor and cost.  Erik also identified a leaky valve in one toilet and adjusted it at no additional charge. He found a leaky irrigation valve in the backyard and shut it off until I replace the faulty solenoid. So confident in his service now, I had him come back a week later to replace the leaky gate shutoff valves at the main. I contacted Eric at EB. He returned my call promptly and his pre-appt communication was great. Pre-work he explained the process and possible scenarios. Once he started, he was able to pinpoint source of leak quickly and even cut the cost because it was so quick. For the record, the leak was probably within 1 foot of where I was already digging but since the water went directly into a drain, I could not find it. Eric's  equipment was able to pinpoint it accurately. Previously I also had the water district come out. They had some basic leak detection equipment and also could not find it. He provided an estimate to get it fixed. Since area was accessible, I chose to fix it myself. But felt estimate was fair considering the scope of work. Once I started digging to fix it, the leak was exactly as Eric had estimated. In summary I would highly EB.

This review is for the amazing customer service. I had scheduled an appointment for leak detection services but my family was able to gather help and resolve the issue for me. Erik has great customer service and I felt so bad for canceling because of it. If I ever hear of anyone needing leak detection, I'll recommend EB Leak Detection!

We were having a problem with our spa partially draining overnight.  We talked to our pool maintenance guy, and he was kind enough to ask one of his other clients who had a pool leak for the name of the company they had used as he knew that they had been very happy with the results.  We were given the name of Erik at EB Leak Detection.  Erik came out and did a thorough inspection of our connected spa, pool and waterfall.  He found the leak and put in a temporary fix (like when you go to the dentist and get a temporary crown).  He scheduled another employee to come out a few days later to do the full repair.   It has been seven weeks and we haven't had any problems since.  Thank you Erik!

Erik was amazing! We were digging for sewer line replacement and building a fence. We tried the 811 Call before you dig but the gas meter is on the front house and the line to the back house was our line & something that PG & E wasn't able to mark or locate. I found Erik on Yelp and he was perfect in locating the gas line and marking it and sending us a report complete with pictures via email as well. We really appreciated how quickly he was able to come over & assist. His great service kept our contractors from being delayed and our project on schedule. 100% recommend!!!!

We had a leak issue that wasn't discovered until we started renovating a wall. I am a super happy customer of EB Leak Detection. We started seeing water come up through our flooring in the kitchen. After getting the run-around from our home warranty contracted plumper, we decided to instead call EB. Erik came out promptly and was on-time and very professional and patient. He was very thorough in running various tests to pinpoint the source of the leak. His pricing was very reasonable and transparent and his contract was in plain English and not legalese. He fixed the cause of our leak and even came in below his initial cost estimate. we are forever customers (though we hope to never have to call him again, haha). Eric was super professional in responding to my inquiry, arranging a prompt time and was very thorough in inspecting the property. While the leak was outside at the irrigation system, he also inspected all the toilets as well as the main and irrigation lines coming from the house and found several other problems. He fixed the main leak and made recommendations on the other issues as well as a timeline as to when they should be repaired.

Totally satisfied with all the work done - which was primarily the inspection and a small repair. I did not price other services so I cannot speak to value but he definitely seems to know his stuff!

I called Eric the third week of August after many weeks of suspecting a leak in my small swim pool. He came the next Monday to review the site of my pool, which had not been refilled automatically for a week. The water level was two inches below the water line, an obvious indicator of a leek. Eric surveyed the pool and its connections before giving me an estimate for the locations of obvious leaks. His repair man came the following Thursday. He pressurized the plumbing in the system, checked all plumbing connections, etc. He repaired the eroded grout in the skimmer and hose connections. Before leaving he showed me before and after pictures of the damaged areas. The next day I received a written explanation, including the before and after pictures, with the reminder that the repairs are guaranteed for a year.
His estimates of the times for analysis's and repairs were right on as were his cost estimates. He and his helper were patient and through in describing the problems and how they were repaired. I highly recommend E B Leak Detectors for any leak detection work. I was amazed at the number of leak problems he can solve!
