So this morning I find that my ceiling is leaking. Not only leaking but leaking from my hallway light fixture plus had a couple more wet areas. I luckily messaged Martin from Down the Drain Plumbing for help. Told him the problem and sent him a photo. At that point he started to address what I needed to do. I.e. clear the area, do not turn on light, and turn off the main water valve to shut off the water to the house.

Martin came over and checked what the problem was. He was able to fix the problem immediately once identified. I am very grateful the fast work or else I would not have any running water for tonight or the next day.

Very unprofessional. I called on Saturday and made appointment for next day Sunday because he was not available same day. Martin said would be at house 8-9 am on Sunday. I called him 3 times on Sunday morning around 8:30, 9:00, & 10 am but never got a return call. At 10 am I sent text asking for call back & Martin text at 10:46 am that his phone battery died. Then at 11:05 am he text that was not able to keep the appointment and I should call him Monday. Seriously, does he think I would ever call after he show no respect for my time. This left me in a bind having to look for a plumber on a Sunday after 11 am. A professional company would not make an appointment they could not keep. It was his responsibility to contact me as early as possible so that at least I would have opportunity to find alternative. Instead I had to be the one calling to try to get status of my appointment.

I called several plumbers to get a clogged bathroom sink fixed. Down the drain plumbing replied really quick and was available the same day. Martin was able to snake out a chap stick that was causing the clog.

An hour later my tenants notified me about the p trap busted in the other bathroom and it was leaking water. This happened from when Martin snaked it on the other side of the bathroom.

I notified Martin and told him the situation he said he will fix it the next day which he did.

I was left with the impression that this owner truly cares about his business and the relationships with his clients. He wants to provide a good service to satisfied customers. I will definitely use them again.

I live in a mobile home, and my hot water heater broke. After being told that the water heaters need specific modifications for mobile homes, as well as there being water heaters that were specifically designed for mobile homes. I went to Sears, and had a bunch of other quotes, I decided to go with Down the Drain because they were the lowest quote. Not only was my water heater replaced at the lowest cost, they added piping to make it up to code!
They went above and beyond! I would recommend them to anyone.

Martin was a great plumber! I needed to install a new washing machine connection with drainage in my garage. He installed it and rerouted pipes in no time. He removed the huge and heavy soapstone sink that had been used for drainage before, and even disposed of it for me. He also installed a water shut-off valve on the exterior of my house, since mine had been corroded and wasn't working. Contacting him was very easy and quick through text and Yelp messaging. Came out and gave me a free estimate within two days. Came to install two days after that. He's very knowledgeable about his trade and answered all of my curiosity questions. Price was very fair compared to other estimates I received. Definitely will be hiring him again for all my future plumbing needs.

When my parents had their showers filling with backed up water we searched yelp for a reliable plumber in our area who would first of all answer the phone and also be able to do the work the same day. Well we found those qualities in Down the Drain plumbing.

I contacted this business establishment for a quote and Martin responded quickly and requested to see the problem leak to give a concise estimate. He started looking for the exact type of valve for the hot water line for the washer on 3 different store and could not find any replacement valve. He fixed a leak in the sink, replaced several old angle stops to avoid future leaks, and even sent another employee out a few days later to replace two more angle stops and a few sink faucets. The prices were reasonable ($99/hr + $125 per stop normally, $89 because I had 8 of them done) especially for a weekend. No hard selling; easy to communicate with.

Martin and his partner, Grant, did a great job for me. I wanted to add a utility sink, water softener, water filter, and an electric water heater in a space in my garage that didn't have any plumbing set up already.

I knew it was going to be a lot of work, so I called around. Initially I called one of the bigger local companies, but they wanted to change my more than doubled what I wound up paying with Down the Drain.

I purchased all the equipment and the guys spent the better part of a day getting it plumbed up. After my electrician finished hooking the water heater, everything worked great.

Now I have soft and filtered water that is heated by my solar - exactly what I wanted. It made me relieved that Martin told me he stood behind his work with a one warranty. Thanks again, Martin!

I had a leak in my garage that I didn't know the slice of the leak. I was referred to Martin. It turns out that there was also mold and asbestos in the garage. He arranged for the services to get these items taken care of. The leak turned out to be coming from outside so it was fixed by another company. However, he did have to move my old old water heater out of the way because mold and asbestos don't move items. Really!? I asked him if he could replace my water heater since it was old and he said no problem. So I bought one online, he picked it up, installed it and got rid of the old one. I highly recommend Martin. I put out an online request through Yelp for a plumbing issue, and Down the Drain Plumbing called me within minutes. The others took hours to respond, despite their Yelp page saying they responded in 40 minutes 'guaranteed'. So, an immediate plus for Down the Drain Plumbing.

He explained the problem and showed it to me, he was very clear, nice and professional. Despite a slight setback in getting some supplies due to a parade nearby, he was still completely done & gone before the next plumbing company bothered to return my call. I emailed Martin about a leak in my main water line at 9:30pm.
He called me the next morning and said he could come right out. He quickly isolated the problem. It was the connection to the meter that was leaking. He replaced the connection with upgraded parts in about three hours the work was done and leak checked good. Quick professional service.

Martin is a life saver. I have used Down the drain plumbing twice now. Both times Martin was on time and his price was very reasonable.
I had a clogged out door drain that was flooding my back yard. My neighbor and I rented a snake and tried to clear the drain for three hours with no luck. I called a different plumber who came over to give an estimate. His estimate was really high. I then called Martin and he gave me an estimate that was half of the first one. The second time I called Martin was for a clogged main drain from my house to the street. Same deal, on time and great price. Martin is my go to plumber.

My toilet always gets clogged and, after today's session, the plunger just didn't work anymore. (I don't blame it) So, I messaged several local plumbers on Yelp (after 5pm) and Martin quickly agreed to come over and take care of us.

He quoted $150 to clear main line if toilet didn't have to be removed. He used a snake to clear a clog about 6' from toilet and said there were a few wipes stuck inside. I'm no plumber so I'm not so sure the work substantiated the $150 charge. Nonetheless, he got the job done quickly, politely, and with late-notice.

I like to support small, local businesses like Down the Drain Plumbing and I'm happy to help him (and fellow consumers) out with this information.

I'm bummed that I didn't speak up and request the Yelp discount mentioned on his page. However, I DID contact him through yelp. Closed mouths don't get fed!

UPDATE: He is giving me a bigger discount on my next service call.

I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am to have found Martin. We had a leak in our water line and had another company come out to look at it. It was somewhere in an awkward spot on a highly vegetated slope. The first company's suggestion was to reroute the pipe, after pointing out we would need a leak detection device and then who knows how deep it is due to the slope and we'd have to remove vegetation and maybe we'd pay for the leak detection and not find it, yada yada. So for a hot minute, rerouting a new pipe sounded reasonable. But wait for it. Are you sitting down? You probably should sit down. Actually, get a glass of water for after you choke. You're sitting down right? The estimate for this new glorious pipe would be $16k. As in: sixteen thousand dollars. At that point I immediately called a leak detection company, who ended up easily locating it, since I was ready to start digging it up myself. I called a few more plumbers to get estimates for repair, and Martin had a last minute opening to come take care of right away and his pricing was so reasonable (in the HUNDREDS my friend, not thousands). While it could have been a complicated repair it ended up actually easy and straight forward and Martin charged fairly without padding it just in case. Not that I hope to need a plumber again soon, but without question Martin is the ONLY one we will call!

I contacted Down the Drain Plumbing after I noticed the ground was getting wet around the foundation of my home and in crawl space, along with needing a water pressure regulator that our newly purchased home did not have. I noticed that something was leaking in our garage and found out that our water heater had leaked. After calling a couple companies, I decided to give Martin a call based off of his good Yelp reviews and professionalism over the phone. He was able to come down that same morning to take a look at our problem. He then replaced our water heater later that afternoon. He also mentioned that we might have had an issue with our water pressure valve, and might need to get it replaced. I made the decision to hold off on that, but guess what...he was right! We did indeed have a water pressure problem. Martin had also recommended us to a company to help with our wall restoration. And provided us with a follow up call to make sure everything was ok and to answer any of our concerns and questions. His plumbing knowledge and professionalism are definitely top notch. Called Down the Drain Plumbing to have a drain pipe leak fixed. They were able to come out and identify the leak same day. When an associate took a phone call they were asked to take the phone call outside. Down the Drain Plumbing responded to my Yelp inquiry for emergency service within 10 minutes. Service provider contacted me on the way to get a better idea of the issues he would be facing. My son is renting a room in a 3 story condo with his room being on the 3rd floor where there isn't access to a sewer clean out. Turns out there were two separate clogs in the 3rd story main line. After about 60 minutes, both clogs were cleared and the service provider cleaned up after himself leaving the bathroom the way that he found it. Emergency service fee was $225 which seemed reasonable for a Saturday. We received one other estimate ranging from $350-$450 for a main line clog with no accessible clean out. Would definitely use them again.

Got martin's name from Angie's list. He Called almost immediately. So did 3 others. He would have come out almost immediately, but i asked him if i could send pictures to get an estimate. I had a 25 year old water heater that started leaking, and i took a bunch of pictures. Texted these to him and spoke with him. He was able to give me a very reasonable quote over the phone. I called Martin on Sunday I told him I had plumbing issues he said he would come and see. He arrive within 20 min told me needed get camera to see problem they would be out Monday. This morning came out with his Jett and camera guy told me what problem was. I didn't have clean out valve so plumbers need go on off and it's un safe I agree. So they unclogged my lines and will be out to put clean out trap and showed picture of pipes.
I had plumber come out telling me they used camera I had hole in pipe would cost $5000-$8000 that wasn't true . Martin and his worker forgot name were honest showed pictures explain the problem and price
I would recommend them after all the guys that I've had great customer service and reasonable price

Martin returned my request here on Yelp very quickly late at night after I had to shut off my water and then took my call first thing the next morning to discuss my problem. He arrived about an hour later and laid out my options for repair. Because my shower faucet was so old and the matching parts are no longer made, the first option did not work. He returned a few hours later to replace the entire trim and valve in my shower/bath. Martin did great work, was courteous, and highly communicative the entire day about what he was doing and what the next steps were. His pricing was exactly what I was expecting. I did not get any other quotes but from what I can tell he was comparable in price. I appreciated him making my repair a priority because we didn't have running water. Martin was nothing short of exceptional! His professionalism, timeliness, attention to detail and VERY competitive pricing made it a win-win situation. I'm glad I called Down The Drain Plumbing team. Martin was able to come over within less than 30 mins and fixed our leaking kitchen faucet. Luckily, I bought all the parts before I called him. He was able to fix it with no issues and less than an hour. He was very professional and provided honest service. The price is very fair and I could not be more happier with the quality service. Martin was great! He works very hard and does so smartly. I called him early one morning and he was there by the following morning. He gave me a very reasonable estimate before any work was started. His pricing is much better than the two other Plumbers' I called. He also didn't try and add work once he got here. This is actually for work that they DIDN'T do.

I was having some serious issues on a Sunday afternoon fixing some broken pipes that led from the mains to the irrigation. My wife wanted to call a plumber. I said nah I can fix it. She won.

But instead of coming out for what could be a potentially expensive Sunday afternoon call, Martin asked my wife to send some pics of what was going on with what I was working on. He responded back with some advice and drew a couple of pictures with suggestions. I managed to fix it a few minutes later - it was pretty easy with his input.

So this 5* is for someone having ethics. It would have been very easy to come out, fix it in five minutes, then charge us at whatever rate it would be. Instead he helped us out and saved us some money. Because of that, next time we *do* need a plumber, Down The Drain will be top of my list.

Martin is a true professional.I had a pipe break and cause alot of damage in my ceiling on the weekend. Had trouble finding anyone to come out. I Requested a quote sunday morning and in 30 min he was at my door. He assessed the problem and gave me a great deal that beat out 3 other plumbers. Before he even got started he was able to refer me to restoration company to fix all the damages. He was done in 45 minutes and even checked other plumbing issues in the house. Definitely recommend.

Martin is the best. Honestly.
We recently had a kitchen renovation and needed someone to come and hook our sink, disposal, new angle values, and new dishwasher up. Martin showed up and quickly took care of business. In fact, I had forgotten to get the necessary dishwasher install kit...So Martin when to Lowes to get it for me!! Wow. Honestly, I would suggest Martin to anyone looking for a plumber. He is honest, quick, and you will not beat his prices (I got 3 quotes before deciding to go with Martin).

Martin is wonderful. He arrived on time was friendly, understanding explained to me what the problem was. Once the part that was needed was identified he had to run around to several stores to get the correct part - he stuck with it and got the job wrapped that afternoon.

Martin is a hands down go to Plumber. After experiencing a late night where i had to secure my water the entire night, and up into the early morning, Martin came out before the rooster crowed to help repair a leaking valve for my bathroom toilet. I needed water in my house and didn't hesitate regardless of how early it was that morning, he was there with the quickness. He was very professional and neat and was informative during the process. I used him right after that call out and once again he was spot on. This is a company that you want in your directory as #1.

Down the Drain was recommended to us for a severe clogged toilet issue which resulted in replacing some piping to resolve the issue. Martin did a great job and everything now works perfectly. Several other plumbers wanted to charge us for an unnecessary camera inspection or to remove the toilet which wouldn't have solved the problem. Martin was willing and able to diagnose the issue right from the start and complete the work quickly. He's on time, professional, reasonably priced and proactive. We'll definitely be using him again.

I contacted Down the Drain because I needed a simple repair/installation on our garbage disposal that finally went kaput and was leaking water underneath our sink. Sure, I could attempt do it myself but then with my luck I'd probably screw it up even more. Hence, I called a professional. Martin was great and gave me a fair, affordable price for the labor and cost of the job. It was quick and easy and now everything works fine. Martin came on Late Sunday afternoon to try and snake a sewer clog. He is the only one who answered the phone. Martin is one of the most reliable and proficient plumbers I've encountered. He is very accessible, punctual, and fair in pricing and delivers as promised. Martin and his team did an excellent job replacing all of our old petrified and corroded bathroom cast iron piping with new ABS piping. I was replacing a vanity top and faucet in one of my bathrooms. When removing the vanity top and faucet, I was able to remove the faucet drain pipe from the p-trap by lifting off the vanity top. After I installed the new vanity top and went to connect the drain pipe from the new faucet I found I was unable to remove the p-trap because it was cemented to the main pipeline. So in order to connect the drain pipe I was going to need to cutoff the p-trap and replace it with a thread p-trap. Time to call in a professional plumber!

I requested quotes from several plumbers in my area. Martin from Down the Drain Plumbing responded right away with a quote and said he could be out the next day. Several other plumbing companies responded shortly thereafter. Martin's quote was by far the best price so I hired him and scheduled an appointment for the next day.

Martin showed up at the scheduled time (actually a little early) and went to work on replacing the p-trap right away. He completed the replacement in less than an hour. He also finished the installation of the faucet which I had planned on doing my self so that was a added bonus.

All in all, I was very happy with the service provided by Martin.Down the Drain Plumbing will be the first company I contact for any future plumbing needs.

We contacted Martin via Home advisor regarding a water heater that started leaking at our fathers house, which had happened on a weekend, we imagined worst case scenario with regards to price. That wasn't the case with him. He thoroughly explained his services and provided an honest quote. Martin arrived on time and quickly provided a fair and reasonable estimate of the work required, water heater and pressure regulator replacement. Once we agreed on the work and price, he immediately started work. He worked hard and completed the job in less time than I anticipated. He explained how to use all the new equipment, explained the warranty, then cleaned the area and removed all the old equipment and parts.
