Don Rose Plumbing

Don fixed a clogged pipe for us. He showed up when he said he would, and his price was  less that others had asked for. He even did a little extra, and also diagramed our system for us. He was courteous, patient, professional and knowledgeable. I would hire him again.

I wanted to hire him again, but the price he quoted was far in excess of a competitor. Plus, he said we needed work that three other companies said was not needed. I think the first job was the bait. Or maybe he was just having a bad patch the second time.

Our toilet was leaking so I called Don. He showed up promptly and diagnosed the problem, wax ring. Once he got the toilet off, he noticed that it has been leaking for quite some time and didn't feel safe just replacing it without having someone check the floor for water damage. My contractor checked and all was well. Don came back out and finished up the next day.

Not only is Don a competent plumber but he is totally dependable and honest. I can count on him to be there anytime I need a job done. He never fails.

Needed a quick fix on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and Don showed up at the end of his long day to help. Mask on, tired smile... he quickly figured it out and did the job. We felt so lucky. I just called him in the morning and he said he would try. He came through! I know now where to go with my plumbing needs.

Remodeled my bathroom and needed a plumber.  I received four estimates from licensed contractors and Don was the most reasonable.
What impressed me was he actually went under the house (other contractors did not) before giving me his estimate.  
This was a big job requiring replacing/moving water and drain lines.  At one point during the work Don recommended that I should consider removing the entire cast iron drain pipe, not just under the bathroom as our contract.  He said if I dug it up he would remove and replace it and not charge me.  I jumped on this opportunity, dug it up.  This required more materiel and Don spending more time crawling/working under the house.  Upon viewing the inside of this pipe it was obvious is was bad, very bad and would have had to be replaced soon. Don saved me lots of money by doing this now. After this job was completed I had to go under the house to retrieve a tool I left when exposing that cast iron line.  I was impressed with Dons work compared to the rest of the plumbing under the house, he really does a great job, very professional!
Recently while installing the sink faucet in this bathroom I could not get the cold water handle to shut off correctly.  Called Don and he was over the next day.  Don worked on it for over an hour and come to find out it was the wrong piece, not happy with Central Brass faucets.  Don called Central Brass and is having the part sent to my home.  This was all done at a very reasonable rate.
I take care of all repairs in my home and my mothers.  The only thing I don't do is plumbing and electrical. I now have a plumber, Don Rose Plumbing.  This man is good people, kind, honest and professional! I would not hesitate to recommend Don.

I can't say enough good things about Don.  I've hired him three times and in each instance his work was great, his prices were very reasonable, and he was a pleasure to work with.   Most recently I had a clogged bath tub that I wasn't able to clear myself.  Don came on time and fixed the clogged tub.  He also snaked our bathroom sink and then cleaned all the mess that I had made trying to fix the tub!  It was definitely above and beyond.  I highly recommend Don if you need a plumber.

Simply outstanding. We were working on an issue with a low water pressure situation and lo and behold, made it worse. Once we figured we needed a pro to take over, we called Don---on a Friday afternoon---and he was able to work his schedule to see us early that evening. I'm less than an hour, he fixed not one m, but two separate problems we had! And at a very reasonable price to boot.

Just can't recommend Don enough!

Friday afternoon I got a call that the shower is backing up with sewage in one of my rental units. I was stuck in meetings at work till almost 5 when I start dialing up every plumber I have saved in my phone (I think I've got about 8-9). Every single one is either booked solid that day, unavailable all weekend, or not even answering.

I get on Yelp and start hunting down a new plumber and probably call a dozen numbers that are all unavailable. I finally get to Don, I dial up and ask what the chance is he can make it out tonight. At this point it's past 6pm on a Friday night, I can tell he is settling in after a long day. He asks if it would be ok to come out in the morning, and I mention it's for my tenants who I really want to take care of so they can get ready for work in the morning. He agrees to come out and the main is cleared within the hour. Don Rose Plumbing is now my first call.

I'm a little late on this review.  I've had Don over here twice; once to rooter my upstairs bathroom, and once to complete a hot water heater install.  I had started the install myself, thinking I could do it.  It got to be 4 in the afternoon, realized I was in over my head, and called Don, pretty panicked.  He saved the day!  He was in the middle of a job, but came over right after he was done, and worked until 11pm that night, completing the job.  I give high marks on his workmanship.  He had all the parts he needed on his truck.  The new water heater works great!  And he told me what I needed to do to stay in compliance with current regs.  Highly recommended.  Fair prices.

Called Don with water heater not working and he was just knowledgeable about everything. He knew what was wrong and quoted me right away. No maybe this or that. Just clean cut and simple! Definitely will keep his contact and will use his services again.

I need several plumbing repairs in my duplex. When I called this guy, it was like I woke him up and he listlessly asked me if it was a short job or something that would take awhile? I just said never mind, I'll just call someone else.

Too slow to respond to multiple phone calls requesting service. Spoke once and seemed nice enough but there was zero sense of urgency regarding our plumbing issue. In the end we ended up hiring someone else. I would have rather been told I'm not interested rather than have our calls and requests go un answered.

Don did a great job for us rebuilding the insides of a Kohler one piece toilet. Instead of installing the universal equipment the plumbing store sold us he research the correct manufacturer's replacement kit and brought it to our house to install. This took an extra trip and time on his part that I do not think he even charged us for. I am not sure other plumbers would have done the same. We recommend him

5 stars +! I called Don about my tankless gas water heater and told him the error code I was getting (C11). He suggested I contact pg&e to check the amount of gas entering my gas appliances. Genius! The gas company came out and replaced my meter. Everything runs well now! So nice that Don suggested this course of action. he saved saved me money. Honest man. Thank you!

Don has done work for me on a couple of occasions. His communication is good, very prompt and is very reasonable on prices. I have nothing but good experiences in my dealings. Don Rose Plumbing is A++++!

I had a great experience with Don. Great customer service, capable, prompt and his pricing is very reasonable.

I needed help with a toilet that was not flushing properly. First, he answered his phone when I called and I was able to talk to him in person. No voice mail. That's huge for me since I hate waiting for call backs. Even though I could tell he was working on another job when I called, he took a couple of minutes to listen to me and ask if he could call back later that evening when he was finished with his current job. As promised, he called that evening and we made an appt for Saturday. Then, on Saturday morning he called to ask if he could come 30 minutes earlier than the appointed time. He could have just shown up, but took the time to call and make sure it was OK with me. Turned out that after snaking the toilet, taking the toilet off and snaking some more, the blockage was in the sewer line. So he went outside and used the industrial size snake to make sure the sewer line was clear. Great to work with him. I will definitely call him again and refer him to anyone who ever asks me for a good plumber.

I have had two plumbing emergencies recently in my rental unit and Don responded quickly and at reasonable cost.  He is friendly and professional and knows what he is doing.   This is my go to plumber.

Don is an excellent plumber and has a lot of skills.  He also can be a bit lazy and leave things partly done.  I didn't feel like the job was polished  up and completed, but he did get most stuff done - although it took forever.  I probably wouldn't hire him again.

Don is awesome.  For a period of time last year, the shower drain in my house kept becoming clogged.  One company I called said that there was a bad part of the pipe that was causing it to clog up and they would have to go into a wall and replace it.  Breaking into the wall made me nervous because I live in an older house and knew that there may be lead or other chemicals from old paint and it would need to be safely contained.  I decided to find a plumber who was certified in lead safety and that is how I came across Don.  Somehow Don figured out that the part of the pipe that needed to be replaced was actually under the house.  I was relieved to hear this but it meant that Don had to crawl under the house (in August!) and spend hours doing the repair.  I give my props to him for doing this.  It was a dirty, tough job.  Don is kind and professional and I can't recommend him enough.  I'm grateful that I found him.

My wife found Don on Next Door, came out this morning to clear a few drains and fix a toilet!! He is very professional and courteous. Thank you for a job well done!!! Highly Recommended.

Two thumbs up, way up, for Don.  

While Don professes to be primarily a plumber, he  did a large remodel for me a few years ago.  His workmanship and attention to detail went way beyond my expectations.  Little things that I hadn't considered during design were routinely figured out and fixed or improved on by Don.  I trusted Don to be in my home for the duration, and never ever worried about having a stranger in my house.  The final project came in on budget, with the highest quality.

I had Don do work at my house a couple years back and he was the best.  I am about to have some work done and so glad I tracked down his info as he was great, knew his stuff and did great work.  He replaced some of my pipes leading to faucets as they were damaged.  He switched them out and haven't had a problem since.

Awesome all the way.

Don has done a simple repair for me (that really, I shouldn't have even had to call someone for - I just didn't see how the pieces unscrewed) that he didn't even charge me for!

From that uber-fantastic (and honest) experience, I've also called him out to fix a stubborn clog that took him two visits to resolve. He didn't charge more for the 2nd visit, since it was the very next day and was obviously the same issue. Again, I really appreciate that kind of ethical business behavior.

I then wanted to replace my decrepit water heater which was in a closet in the smack-middle in my house. If it were leak at all, my all-wood-floor house would be in major trouble. Don had the great idea of replacing it with a tankless water heater which would reside on one of the outside walls. Brilliant! It would be out of my house which made me super happy and it also opened up the space for a much-needed 'stuff' closet.

This one-man business got my old heater out, my new heater in, the City dealt with (all those permits), my new pipes rigged up and he even dealt with my old asbestos-y ones in the attic! Truly a great job!

He offered me a great deal, did a great job and was really fun to talk to. No complaints here. Simply RECOMMEND.
