Given my experience working with many skilled trades, it was clearly apparent that Jose was not only a knowledgeable electrician but one that will get the job done correctly and most importantly, with the highest degree of safety. I had hired several electricians in the past but none dealt come close to his capabilities.

Jose encountered a few unforeseen challenges as he dove into the installation (which were out of his control) but he was very methodical about getting it completed to our satisfaction. The final product came out great that even our neighbors want to hire Jose to install the light fixtures on their home as well.

Had an ongoing issue with my GFCI circuits in my kitchen.  Castillo Electric troubleshot the issue and resolved it. They provided very professional service was on time and knowledgeable. Reasonably priced and ethical. Would definitely recommend them for electrical concerns and I will be contacting them for any further issues.

I'm glad I called Jose to check our problematic outlet. I called him and luckily he is just around the area. He came within 15 mins, checked the problem and did some work and viola problem solved. I just found my electrician for my future project, Thank you Jose.

Jose and his team did a great job upgrading our main service disconnect panel. Jose was very responsive and took care of all the required, complicated, yet necessary, tasks of dealing with PG&E and Public Works. He's added new outlets, one of which needed its own power source, and fixed a loose outlet. We also had him install a new ceiling light.

Great experience with Jose and his team at Castillo Electric!  We are undergoing a home remodel and was in search for an electrician for various projects throughout the home.  I met with Jose to walk our home and after our meeting, it was an easy decision to hire his team.  Jose and his team completed various projects including adding additional circuits to our kitchen and installed recessed lighting and track lighting throughout the home.  Jose was very professional and knowledgeable in his trade.  I highly recommend Jose and his team for any of your electrical needs!

Jose called me in a very reasonable amount of time, said he'd come to the house after he finished the job he was on. It took a bit longer than he expected,  but he called and came to check out our breaker issues,  found the problem very quickly and fixed the problem.  He double checked the issue to be sure it was right. I highly recommend him.

This is just on the principle of the person called me back  even though I didn't leave a message. Also talked me through the troubleshooting respectfully.  I appreciate that.  I would definitely be calling them back if I can't get what I need fixed.

Unfortunately, my electrical panel decided to fail in the middle of a Saturday night. I mean, who do I call besides PG&E? Turned to Yelp to find a local electrician to temporarily restore power. Because he was stacked with projects, he couldn't work on a permanent fix for me.

Next day, on a Sunday, I started searching for an electrician. I didn't expect anyone to respond, but J.R. Electrical texted back and troubleshoot the problem via text and photos. As of this writing, out of 6 contacted, only 2 responded.

Felt bad for telling them I'll use another electrician, but they were totally cool with it and was even glad I found a solution. Although I went with a referral from a family member, I appreciate J.R. Electrical for their responsiveness and willingness to help troubleshoot. Their friendly and honest communication was what put me at ease. Now I have their contact information on my phone to call first for future issues.

Note to self: line up (get references) professionals that can help fix household issues, especially when it happens in the middle of the night.

Got a nema 14-50 ev charging outlet installed by Jose. He was responsive and the pricing was right. Got it scheduled and completed in a day.

I requested a quote for some electrical work done in my garage.  Jose from Castillo Electric responded promptly and set up a meeting time to inspect proposed work.  He answered my questions, made some recommendations and provided me a quote online.  I appreciate his professionalism,  flexibility, and he did an excellent job.

I had a great experience with Castillo Electric 510-866-4043.
I hired them to add a circuit. They got the job because they were the only electrician to open the face plate on the electric panel and crawl under the house to get a full scope of the project. I got seven local electricians to give me quotes, and some wanted to cut into exterior walls without having even opened the face plate of the electric panel. This guy did a bunch of the electrical work on the KB homes that went up along Mission. Good guy. He tried to return the cash tip I gave him because the amount given wasn't the same as what he charged.

I recently purchased a Tesla and needed a home charger installed.  I started to look around and the quotes I got were crazy.  I found a few people that were reasonable, but I felt the most comfortable with JR.  

JR was not only reasonable, but he did a great job.  I am happy I went with JR!

Every step of the way, Jose really helped us understand the process, the issues, and the solutions. He provided us with options, gave us time to process and think. The team was really friendly and respectful as well.
Prior to the installation, Jose provided us with a very competitive quote, with a detailed break-down of what each installation would cost. And even though there were a few complications along the way and an extra visit to finish things up, Jose did not charge us extra. Highly recommend!

Very pleased with Castillo Electric!  Jose helped me solve my main problem over the phone for no charge.  I was appreciative & had a few other minor things to fix at my house, so I described what I needed & he said it would probably only take an hour to do the work.  He stopped by later that day & took an hour just like he said, for a reasonable charge of $200-$300 total including materials. Highly recommended!

We needed an EV charger in our home and had no idea where to start. We reached out to several electricians but felt that Jose was the most qualified. He took the time to carefully explain what we needed and how to maximize our current panels without spending an arm/leg. We are very happy with his service, pricing, and the ability to explain, in simple terms, what we needed. Everything is working perfectly and we would recommend Jose and his team to others.

JR returned my call when it's nearly impossible to get an electrician due to all of the remodeling.  He came the same week and he and his partner found a way to hang my pendant lamp and sealed the base. It looks beautiful- the way it should. He was very reasonable with the price for his work. Great can do attitude as well. Highly recommend.

Extremely responsive.  They gave us a good, competitive bid and did an excellent job for us.  We would definitely hire them again, and would recommend them to anyone. Very professional with fair and reasonable prices.  We needed an outlet inside our fireplace for a log insert. They went out of their way to run the power through the attic instead of cutting a hole in our paneling.  We couldn't be happier with their service.

I found Castillo Electric on Yelp while searching for a licensed electric company for a small project. I got 4 different quotes from 4 different companies and I decided to go with Castillo Electric. This company was very professional and responsive from the get go. Jose was quick to respond to my initial request for an estimate. He came over and heard me while also giving his opinions on how the project could move further. I liked his ideas better than what I had initially planned. He was very responsive to emails and texts. His estimate was very competitive and he was very clear about the materials that he would use. He did not try and nickel and dime for everything- everything was covered in the quote he gave. They came on the agreed upon day on time, went over the project with me one more time and got to work. They kept me informed of everything they were doing and finished the project in a few hours and cleaned up after themselves. Everyone was very friendly and professional throughout the process. Jose was one of the most professional and top notch contractors I've ever worked with. Power went out to half my house, centered around the bedrooms.  I contacted Jose and he arrived in less than 24 hours.  Communication and professionalism were unrivaled.  His team troubleshot the issue quickly and repaired the faulty junction box.  Quality of work was exceptional. I'm going to be contacting him soon for some more work as he and his team fantastic!

Jose and his partner took care of some lights and a vent in my house which had suddenly stopped working. They quickly identified that the problem was faulty wiring and repaired it in no time. They were also respectful of the property, courteous in their communication, and helped me out with a bunch of other minor issues too. This team is fantastic. They helped put up over 40 recessed lights + multiple ceiling fans throughout our house and the final result was fantastic. They even came back to put in a new transformer and run new low voltage wire for our Nest Doorbell after another contractor had stucco'd all of the prior wiring/hole. Not only was Jose and team super efficient with their work, they also provided some design guidance to make sure we were going to be pleased with the work aesthetically as well. While I had originally wanted to lay out the recessed lights equidistant in all directions, he suggested offsetting so that they were further out along the walls, and boy are we glad to have taken his advice. I should also add that they did all their work with the utmost cleanliness, putting down tarp and drop cloth, and making sure to clean up after the job. Super pleased and will definitely be reaching out to them again.
