Mario is exceptional! His work is top notch (as I'll explain below). What I really want to highlight is that he is a great listener, very respectful, there was no MAN-SPLAINING. His demeanor is friendly and professional, he is an excellent communicator, and he gave me a fair price. He is the electrician we are all looking for!

The work: I needed a 240 v line run from my breaker box, to my kitchen (all the way across the house).

When he came for the estimate, he was prompt, and listened to the explanation of my needs. My home is over 100 years old and nothing is straightforward... however, Mario examined my home's current electrical infrastructure and then clearly explained what he would do. He was confident he could easily complete the job.

He provided me with a very fair estimate (and I was sure to tip him because he is worth so much more!!!!)

He came back two days later and did the job.

His work is excellent. He kept his work spaces tidy and cleaned up when he was done. After the work was completed, he walked me through the steps and made sure I was satisfied with the results.

If you've gotten this far in my review, I'm thrilled because Mario truly provides workmanship and customer service like we used to enjoy in days-gone-by. If you decide to have Mario come to your home to address your electrical needs, you will definitely not be disappointed!

I've never interacted with anyone like Mario. He's responsive, honest, and a true craftsman. I had Mario do a couple of things, he removed and rewired some old wires in my garage, he did that in an hour.  Later in the week he did some pretty involved work of rewiring my living room which involved multiple trips under the house.

His pricing is very reasonable and he will be my go to electrican from now. If you're looking for a long term electrician, don't hesitate to give Mario a call.

I want to recommend Mario Carranza of Carranza Electric (415) 879-3935. He's super nice, honest, explains all of your options, and doesn't pressure you to make specific purchases. He also lives in Bernal Heights. Today, Mario replaced my patio light and installed track lighting and a dimmer switch in my living room all for $475. Plus he completed the job in about 4 hours. All I need to do is paint over 3 small patches where he drilled and replaced the drywall.

If you are looking for an electrician, LOOK NO FURTHER , MARIO is your man for the job!!  He hooked up my new chandelier, sconces, hardwired additional outlets, and even handled some handyman work.  I plan to use him again to redo our electrical panel, and add some outdoor security cameras.  

I highly recommend him.  He is extremely knowledgeable and I felt comfortable we were in good hands.   His expertise and showmanship speaks for itself.

Mario did a great job at a very reasonable price. He changed out 25-30 outlets and switches around the house and installed a 30v outlet for our EV. He was friendly and worked efficiently. I would definitely call him again for any electrical needs in the future.

I could not be happier with Mario. He showed up exactly at the appointed time and resolved the problem instantly. It's embarrassing to admit, but I must be completely honest here: The problem was me.

Four of the outlets on my kitchen wall had stopped working a week ago. I had pressed the red GFCI switch, and still no power. I had switched the circuit breaker on and off, and still no power.

But when Mario pressed the GFCI switch: Power! Maybe I didn't press the GFCI switch hard enough the first time, or maybe I should have pressed it a few times. Regardless, the solution was pressing the red button, and it worked for Mario.

I am completely embarrassed I did not check this more closely before I called Mario, but I am very happy to give him a glowing review. And he didn't even charge me.

If you want honest service from a reliable electrician, look no further.

Mario provided excellent service and is very knowledgeable. He's prompt and came to my house to view where I wanted my Tesla electric wall charger placed and gave me a quote. His work is wonderful and I highly recommend him if you're looking for a responsive person who has good prices, he's the person you want!

I spoke and texted with Mario on Monday, explaining what I wanted done. I sent him some pictures. We agreed that he would show up on Thursday at 3pm. He showed up with a smile and the exact parts we needed. He converted an outlet to be able to plug in my car charger, and also converted another outlet to a 20 amp outlet. He did both in an hour and charged a very reasonable fee. I will be calling him to for more projects in the coming weeks.

By the way, he has decades of experience and knows exactly what he is doing.

Five stars! Mario was excellent- I reached out to several contractors about a broken light bulb base I could not remove myself despite several attempts ; Mario replied back to me within the hour, came out same day, was punctual and provided a professional service explaining everything! He appears very knowledgable about wiring. He charged a very reasonable price (other Contractors were going to charge me double+ the price!).  He also genuinely seemed to enjoy his work and care about the results.

He even kindly offered to look at another light fixture in our pantry (that was incorrectly wired and not working) while here and knew immediately what to do!

I asked Mario to help with installing several smart light switches and a couple replacement electrical outlets. Mario was easy to get ahold of over the phone and via text. We spoke on a Friday afternoon, and Mario agreed to come Sunday morning. Mario arrived on time and completed the project in a few hours for a reasonable price. I was satisfied with Mario's work and would call on him again.

All sockets in my living room stopped working. I had extension cords all over the house for a couple of weeks during this heavy rain.  My friend recommended Mario, I called him on a Saturday, he showed up to my house right away.  Once I explained to him the problem he knew what to do, I could tell then I was dealing with an experienced professional.  Mario took care of the problem without any hassle, he even climbed a latter on top of the stairs to finish the job, I was very impressed with his job and even more with the low rates he charged me.
If you tried the rest, now try the best, I highly recommend Carranza Electric for all your needs, residential and commercial.

I am so lucky and happy to have come across Carranza Electric.  The owner, Mario has 40+ years of experience as an Electrician.  He is very professional, polite, knowledgeable and his service charge is beyond reasonable!

He helped me installed my ceiling fan in a very timely matter and did an amazing job!!

I highly recommend Mario Carranza for any electrical needs!!

We had accumulated several minor electrical jobs (light switch problems, broken bathroom fan, etc.) as well as a more complicated project requiring some creative problem-solving (moving our fiber internet terminal, home networking RJ45 panel, and Ethernet switch into an enclosure to reduce cable mess and dust accumulation -- an overambitious pandemic project I never got around to finishing). Mario took them all on without blinking, got everything done in less than a day and for the original estimate, left everything cleaner and tidier than he'd found it, and even added hinges and a latch to the enclosure box. A+, would certainly call on him again.

Another five star review.  Mario came out to fix two pendant lights in our kitchen.  It was complicated but he figured out the problem and explained what he was doing every step of the way.  I will definitely call him the next time I need an electrician.

Really great work from Mario who installed a regular 120V outlet and a 14-50 outlet for my EV in my garage. The work was done super fast and efficiently. He was communicative and up front about pricing throughout the whole process. I will call him again if I need more work done.

Mario installed an outdoor outlet to a new irrigation timer for us. He was easy to communicate with, arrived on time, and explained all the options we had for how the work could be done. I highly recommend.

Mario is great - super responsive, timely and completely reasonable wrt price. He investigated a few electrical issues we've been having (plug sockets not working, under counter lights not working / odd wiring, and mis-wired multi-switched), and either fixed them or have an estimate of what it would cost to fix. What a great experience! Mario promptly responded to my request for a quote to install an outlet. He came by the same day to evaluate the job, provided a very reasonable quote and said he had the tools. Thirty minutes later, we had a new outlet and a new breaker! If I could give Mario 10 stars, I would. He is an excellent electrician - responsive, reliable and reasonable. The first two, of which, are VERY tough traits to find in tradespeople. And on top of that, he's a kind man. He's hung a chandelier, a sconce added 2 sconce outlets, installed an electric box and flush mount and the largest job was installing recessed lights/adding outlets. Every time he was quick, did a clean job and offered fair pricing. Mario is my GO-TO electrician from here on out.

Needed service on the weekend as fuse box kept tripping every few hours.  Mario was able to come on the weekend.  Very reasonable pricing at the end. Problem fixed.  Will use again.

I bought a 100 year old home that wasn't very well maintained. Nothing was updated - I found Mario from Carranza Electric - he gave me a free estimate and I let him know that I wanted a couple more estimates and I would decide in a few days.  

I chose Mario because he offered me the best deal, he was super professional, came in clean work clothes and a clean truck. AND he was available to begin the following work week. He showed up to work at 7am and finished as he said he would. He rewired and put in a whole new load center and labeled every circuit.  I highly recommend him without any reservation.

I messaged Mario on Monday at 7:30am and he replaced a defective GFCI outlet in less than 5 minutes the same day at 4pm. Would definitely recommend.

Had a weird issue with the two rooms upstairs where the lights flicker or the power goes out when you plug anything in the outlet, even a phone charger. The other room and areas that are on the same circuit are fine for some reason. It was a lot of painstaking work ruling out possible issues including removing smart switches and tracing multiple lines that branches off to more outlets, lights and switches. Mario was able to fix the issue and even tidy up the tangled mess of wires he found in the ceiling. He was patient, professional and friendly. He also gave us fa air price.  So save yourself time and headache. Call Carranza Electric!

Our outdoor outlets were not working. I called Carranza Electric yesterday and they came over today and fixed both outlets. They are very responsive and nice, and the work quality is great! I highly recommend Carranza Electric!

Mario was great. Super fast response to my quote request late at night and booked an appointment for the following day. He did an awesome job requiring and replacing some old outlets at a fair price. Would definitely recommend him! Accepts cash and check only.

Mario was very professional and efficient, as well as reasonably priced.  He fixed three of my outlets that had a variety of issues.  I would recommend him to friends and contact him again for any electrical issues.

We had an odd electrical issue we thought was related to the breakers where part of the house was out of power.  Mario was very communicative - one of the first to respond and was able to arrive on short notice.   After doing due diligence on the breaker and outlets he narrowed it down to one one of the switches and was able to get power restored within about 2 hrs

Long story short, Mario is the best.  We hired him to install 2 circuits.  The 1st circuit included new breaker, wall switch (we provided) and 3 external flood lights (we provided).  The switch is being installed into a 3 gang box where only 2 locations were used.  He provided a new outlet and we provided another switch.  I wasn't expecting him to replace the 3 gang box, but he did that too.  This job was a bit complex, and we were worried about the feasibility of the job, so we expressed our concerns about not creating holes until he was certain of success.  He did exactly what we wanted.  In addition, he used this circuit to off load an overloaded one in our kitchen while he was at it.
The other circuit was simpler, as it was for 3 external outlets, and he did a great job on this too.
While he was out, I asked Mario to look at our dining room chandelier where a neutral wire was broke.  Our house is old and has wood paneling, so opening walls is not really an option.  Mario investigated the situation, and luckily found a way to repurpose wires that were going through the chandelier to a wall switch for under cabinet lighting.  Fortunatly that light switch was in the same box as outlets on a different circuit.   This was just before christmas, so we thought it was a christmas miracle.
Mario is so easy to work with and he is extremely professional.  My wife has cleanliness protocols and Mario complied 100% (he did better than I do).  When Mario completed the job, I couldn't be happier.  I don't know how to convey to you how happy I was, but it was the happiest feeling that I can recall for a long while.
The next day we discovered that our Microwave oven was tripping the new GFCI/AFCI circuit breaker.  Mario said he would come and either change the circuit breaker, or undo the load rebalancing he did earlier.  I did some investigation (searching it out on internet) and convinced myself that it was a compatibility issue with the AFCI and Microwave.  Later we replaced the mircrowave as it had some other issues and the new one doesn't trip the AFCI.  I bring this up only because it shows how Mario stands behind his work, was willing to come back and adust, even though he did everything perfect.
It is my nature to escort people and watch them when they work.  I will tell you this, Mario kept me informed every step of the way, listened to me, always positive attitude.  He thinks through everything he does, which is why he delivered fantastic results.  I look forward to hiring Mario again, and am unsurprised by everyone elses postivie reviews.

I reached out to Mario on a Saturday afternoon and he responded right away. He tried squeezing me in on Sunday but ended coming on Tuesday. He came and reconnected the 220v wire that an hvac guy cut years ago. Mario was thorough, even showing me the voltage on the plug and helping me to move the dryer and plug it in to see that it was now working. He was done within the hour and the cost was reasonable. Will definitely call him for our next electrician job.

I am really pleased with Carranza Electric. I had an outdoor light fixture above the backdoor that was so corroded, I couldn't even get it loose. Mario happened to have an opening the same day. He arrived right on time and had it replaced with the new one I had in about 30 minutes. I had gotten other quotes including one where they wanted to charge me a few hundred just to come and look at the fixture! After I texted a photo, Mario quoted a reasonable price over the phone and charged exactly that when he was finished. I know I'll definitely call Mario again for the next electrical repair.
