Carlos was very conscientious and did a fabulous job. He answered all of our questions despite it being 10pm on a Friday night.

Extremely pleased and we will be using Black Mtn Plumbing from now on. Due to their cost savings and service we ditched our plumber we used for 25+ years. I never thought I would switch.

We called them for emergency service for a simple clogged kitchen sink drain on a Saturday morning at 11am. I told them I want it done today. They said they can make it at 4-5pm. They said $200 fee just to come out, then $250/hr. Crazy high, but I was busy and didn't feel like getting a bunch of quotes -- so I said ok. At least they'll show up since I'm paying am arm and a leg right?

Wrong. An hour before they were supposed to show up, they called to tell me they can't make it and have to reschedule for tomorrow. Does this company not understand what emergency service is? You have to wait half a day to tell me you can't come? And it was scheduled for 4pm -- you can't unclog a drain at 7pm? 8pm? 10pm? What is the $200 emergency fee for? If you're double booked and too busy just let your customers know so they can call someone else who can come -- that's why I asked for emergency service!

But ok, I get it. Things just get crazy sometimes, but you'll never guess what they said next. They said they can reschedule me for tomorrow -- I said ok fine, then they said, we're going to need your credit card number right now for the $200 emergency fee! I was like... what do you mean? You're the one rescheduling -- you're going to charge me? They said, if they're on their way tomorrow and I cancel, they will charge me the $200.

Are these people serious? I called for emergency service and agreed to exorbitant prices. They couldn't deliver on fast service, wasted my day, tried to reschedule AND attempt to lock in their $200. They were only interested in the $200 and my needs as their customer were the last thing on their mind.

I had a feeling that this would drag on till Monday because that's just the vibe I got so I politely declined. I called up another company who showed up on time the first thing in the morning and got it done quick. And no surprise -- the other company charged waaaaay less even for emergency service.

To management -- here's a hint. If someone calls you for emergency service they want it done quick. If you probably can't make it, just tell them to call someone else. If something unexpected happened and you can't make it, tell them you're sorry, that you'll be there first thing next morning, and wave the emergency fee because YOU MESSED UP and YOU INCONVENIENCED YOUR CUSTOMER who could have had their problem fixed already by someone else. Your company did the opposite of that and instead was only thinking about yourself and tried to lock in the emergency fee. lol what a joke.

RE:   Fix the High Water Pressure in the House on December 27, 2022

Our 7th time using Black Mountain Plumbing and we were happy to get SOLOMON again.   As expected, Solomon was professional and prompt.  Solomon replaced the water pressure regulator with internal bypass, and soldering.  1 Year Parts and Labor Warranty.  We like this company. Smooth transaction and service every time.

For 15 minutes of work to install a gas valve, they charged $225 which was a total rip-off. They refused to give a quote over the phone despite sending a clear picture of what needed to be installed.

Great response time from Solomon, who was polite,  efficient and professional. He diagnosed the problem quickly, and all ended well. It's also good to know that BMP carry warranteed Bradford White water heater parts, so I know whom to call in case of future trouble. Based on this encounter, I would recommend Black Mtn Plumbing and will call them again in case of (inevitable) plumbing issues. Thanks, Solomon, for your wisdom!

You ever have that Tuesday after a holiday weekend where you feel like the universe is going to absolutely punish you in exchange for a few relaxing days off? Like that one post Memorial Day week a long time ago where my body decided that kidney stones were a good idea. What is it with this weekend attacking my plumbing?

I'm getting ahead of myself.

Plumbing. My wife got up early - as nurses tend to do - to begin her day. When she started the water in our bathroom ... it sounded a bit like an incredibly angry psychopath was trying to violently shake apart our plumbing. While I found this sound to be upsetting, our dog was outright enraged. He let me know that this was to stop immediately and that he expected me to call in a plumber as soon 8AM rolled around (did I mention this was all going down at 5:20 AM?).

So yeah, pluming once again under attack after a long holiday weekend.

Okay, I might be blaming this on the universe, but I will grant the universe this: the solution was also waiting for me on the doorstop this morning. Our community newsletter was there, and within it, the number to Black Mountain Plumbing.

I don't really like making phone calls, but my dog (the one insisting this get fixed IMMEDIATELY) also will not make these calls. So I relented and got through right away. Daniel was available and in the area, and get this ... would be over ASAP.

A few tests later, the problem was identified. By 10:30 AM, the violent shaking pipes had been calmed by a new pressure regulator (I wish they made this for humans, BTW). Daniel also fixed an unrelated issue with the lack of hot water in my shower.

Everyone I worked with was very helpful and honest. My dog is no longer giving me dirty looks. And I still have the majority of this post-holiday Tuesday to enjoy.

I'm not a fan of days beginning like this one did, but I am a huge fan companies like this who show up and do an amazing job and set things right.

They haven't completed the work yet, but our scheduled to this week. So helpful to have them do an overall house inspection for plumbing issues. Very thorough, knowledgeable, and informative. Great with communication from the office as well as the plumber. Really enjoying my experience so far.

Flooding sewer pipe. On a Saturday. 90 minute response from Solomon. A great representative for this company. Was quick, very polite and even more helpful.  Charged a fair price for a great job. Didn't mind explaining things and made sure we were comfortable with his work and the job.
Again this company has not disappointed after many years. Honest and great work for a fair price.

Robert went out of his way to help me with a DIY project. He took the time to explain the options to me, supplied me with a proprietary part I couldn't get on my own as a consumer, and even helped negotiate a warranty return when one of those parts turned out to be bad (no fault of Black Mtn Plumbing). I really appreciate how he did this when he could've outright refused or insisted on making a service call. I try to do a lot of my own repair work, and it's rare to find this level of helpfulness from a service provider. If you're not confident (or masochistic) enough to take on a DIY plumbing problem, I highly recommend Black Mountain Plumbing.

I can't say enough good things about BMP!!!  Called yesterday about shower leak, corroded knobs, Dayne came today and far exceeded my expectations.  Not only did he fix my leak and knobs, but problem solved other water issues I was having.  Great work!!!!!  Price was very fair, too.  I'm a senior and so relieved to have found a company I can trust.

Daniel came out this morning to move the water heater as part of water remediation work.  At that point I was told that Black Mountain Plumbing (BMP) does not work with insurance and that I would have to pay for $800 + (surprise) $600 to replace a water regulator before hooking up the temporary water heater.  This is approx $1,400 out of pocket today.

I had to decline working with BMP due to this.  

I gave feedback to Daniel that I would have appreciated knowing up front that they did not work with insurance. His response was that I should talk with the office not him - I can only talk with him about specific work being done and that it is not his responsibility to tell me up front about not taking insurance.

Next, I said: ok, I will talk with the office. Let me give you some personal feedback, your customer service attitude is abrasive and not helpful. As I was talking, Daniel got in his truck and drove off and left me in mid sentence. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL conduct.

I called the office and Kathy (sp?) answered and took my call, feedback, and report of the incident very well.  

In the past, BMP has provided excellent service in the past.  Very professional, courteous, and high quality work.

Great job.  I called these guys after another plumber cancelled an hour out from his ETA, after making a tenant wait 5 days for availability. Solomon called the tenant and actually moved the appointment forward!  Rate was as quoted and plumber did exactly what I asked.  I will be calling again for my next tenant plumbing issue!  Office staff was knowledgeable and pleasant as well.
Best Plumber I have found in San Diego!

Called to have a broken top mount sink replaced.  I provided the same sink.  Just remove the fixtures and drain plug.  Cut the grout, remove the sink.  clean up the edge.  Drop in new sink and put pack the fixtures.  Re-grout.  

Seems simple 1 maybe 2 hour job.  One new pop up plug would be needed.  

They came in an told me $750.

Good service and not outrageous pricing. We used them on a leaky pipe and they got there same day! Highly recommend!

We asked for an estimate of a leak from upstairs bathroom into the kitchen. I put this on my appointment request. Charge for assessment was $49. The plumber came looked at the deli Ing and said he could not do anything without someone testing for asbestos then asked for the $49!  He could have told us that before he came and saved me $49. Never recommend them or use them again. Ripoff!

Black Mountain Plumbing saved me!  I had a leak from our master bathroom pipe dripping into the entryway downstairs.  I had a procedure I was prepping for the next day and needed the bathroom in working order.  Black Mountain Plumbing fixed the problem the same day.  I'm super happy with their work and would use them again.  I highly recommend this company.

We've been using BMP for about a year now for both our primary and rental house. They have helped us with numerous plumbing related items from clogged sinks, fixing our smart toilet, installing new sinks, and installing a whole house filtration system. They are reliable, get the job done correctly, and always very professional. We trust them with all of our plumbing needs.

It is rare to find a plumber who is communicative, knowledgeable, and honest. Black Mountain Plumbing came out to look at an issue we were having at our commercial building in San Diego. They cut right to the chase and addressed our issue quickly and their prices were more than fair. If you are in their service area, consider yourself lucky. You will never need another plumber.

Preface - I have not paid for any services from Black Mountain Plumbing - this only relates to my experience in trying to get a quote.

I was looking for a quote for a main line sewer replacement.  Like others whose houses were built in the 60's we have a cast iron sewer line than is reaching the end of its usable life.  I have 4 other vendors coming out to take a look - all to bid on the job.  Only Black Mountain Plumbing said that coming for an estimate was billable work at $230 per hour.  This fee, they said could be applied to the work if we chose them as a vendor.

They were cordial and friendly but happy to pass on the potential work. I was happy to pass on paying a vendor who charges service fees to create a quote for a multi-thousand dollar job.

Fair honest and professional. They communicate the issue and how they can fix it.  My issue was not a quick fix.  The associate even though it was super tough on something that should have been simple. They saved me a lot of money by being persistent and getting the job done without it turning into a giant job. (hot cold turning knob broke and no way to remove it for the average person) It's four stars because while they are awesome.
Just wish they could do it all detecting a leak and fixing a slab leak all in the same company would make it 5 star.

After submitting my review on 8/26/2020 for the faucet replacement on 8/24/2020 I received the estimate for our sink replacement (with us providing the sink and requiring us to additionally hire another contractor to reinstall our existing R/O system or a new one):  $1289.94 after a 5.8% military discount.  Home Advisor indicates a typical rate nationwide would be between $212 and $562 and for our area would be $270 - $927.  

After asking if the bid was indeed correct (I was advised it was), I also asked again for the list of R/O contractors they would recommend.  They provided one contractor's link:  sandiego.haguewater.com .

We felt overall we received high quality service for a fair, if on the high end, price for the faucet installation initially, but felt the follow-up and high prices for the sink installation bid were disappointing.

I had a clogged drain in one of the bathrooms on my ground floor condo.  I actually called a different plumbing company initially, but was referred to Black Mountain Plumbing for this particular job.  Very glad to have been given the referral, as I was impressed from start to finish with Black Mountain.  Called Tuesday afternoon around 3, and the scheduler set me up with a 8-12 timeslot for the following morning.  Received an electronic confirmation of the appointment via text and email.  Very smooth process.

The technician (Dylan) called me the following morning and gave me a 15 minute heads up to arrival.  Dylan was punctual, polite, professional, and very candid about pricing.  He thoroughly explained how the work would be performed and completed the job very efficiently.  He cleaned up after himself and even wore protective shoe coverings and a mask prior to entering my residence.  I received an electronic invoice shortly after my CC payment was processed.  Black Mountain Plumbing has certainly earned my future business, and I wouldn't hesitate to refer friends or family.

We had a leak inside our garage wall that was causing our stucco to get wet and turn green.  The tech that came cut 3 openings in our  drywall and still could not find the source of our leak.  He even called his dad, the owner, for guidance.  I was disappointed he made us pay for him cutting holes and not finding the source of the problem.  If he could not properly diagnose the problem, maybe his dad should have come to determine the cause.  I've left a message regarding this issue, and they did not return my call.  We thought this was a reputable company, but maybe I was wrong.

They saved the holidays for me. Truly.

Usually plumbers get a bad rap because of over charging, etc - but our tech today, Adam, was just an honest good guy.

We were worried about our washer/dryer hoses/valves and got a quote over the phone.

It would be a four hour window when someone would show up. Adam was cool and gave us a call when he was 30 min away.

He was considerate about entering and even put on booties.

He took a look at our issue and said the job would be more as it would involve cutting away some material to make way for new material.

It's the holidays. I'm saving money for Christmas and family. I can't afford more fixes at the moment.

Adam never tried to upsell me. Or pressure me. Or scare me about 'possibility of this and that'. He simply understood my situation and said he wanted to check the water pressure to make sure all was fine since i didn't want to deal with laundry valves. He also helped tighten a faucet without me even asking.

He only charged me $39 for the visit. And that can go towards the future repair. He'll email us a more detailed estimate.

So yeah. There are good people out there when you least expect it.

This is the second time that we have used this company and again very happy with there work. This time was for work on Shower. Robert was amazing and had completed the work in 75 minutes. He also explained everything to us so that we can prevent future problems. I am so impressed with this company and will never go back to. Bill Howe.

I can't say enough good things about Solomon   Nwosu. I called 5 plumbers and Black MTN was the only one to respond! Yes, it's a Sunday, my kitchen sinks we're backed up and flooding over into my cupboards and across my wood floors. I bailed water out over and over and it just kept coming back up. Solomon knew exactly what to do and took care of it, explaining everything to me. If you have an emergency need for a plumber like I did today, I highly recommend this company.

Prompt and courteous service from Daniel. He helped educate me and provided quick follow-up, as well.

Robert S from Black Mountain Plumbing knows his stuff and he is one of the few plumbers who have expertise on Moen Smart water shutoff. He answered all my questions really well and is good in communicating with  his customers. I recommend Robert and will hire him again in the future.

We paid $230 for this company to bid a project.

They couldn't do the work they came out to bid (either fix option - line or replace the pipes) and they stayed for multiple hours to rack up the price anyway.

They also put our home purchase contingency timelines in jeopardy by wasting our time with their sham bid work.

Our go-to place for anything plumbing related. They won't mess around with you and try to upsell you on anything parts or services. We've had to use them on a few occasions the past 2-3 years and they have always come through and done a fantastic job. Staff is always super courteous and friendly so don't forget to tip them well after a job well done!

My 75 gal tank was near the end of its life. I decided to call out a half dozen different local plumbing companies to bid the job to either replace the 75gal unit, or to retrofit in a tankless unit.

Black Mountain Plumbing were BY FAR the most expensive AND they charged me $39 for the honor of coming out...the only company of all of them who deemed it reasonable to charge for making a bid :/

$4,200 bid for a straight forward tank replacement...nothing complicated, just sticking in a new, contractor grade, 75 gal unit. Over $1,000 above most other bids.

$9,000 for a retrofit to a Rinnai RUR199IN. Close to DOUBLE what most other plumbers have quoted me. Yikes!

Also, $286/hr for diagnosing any other plumbing issues in the house.

I guess they figured I wasn't going to do my homework.

Really love this plumbing company, they do professional honest work. Had emergency job that needed to be done, they came that day to fix it. Fast, efficient and professional work.

I called B.M.P. to come out and look at a sluggish toilet at our house.
Daniel arrived early and diagnosed the the issue quickly and fixed the problem.  He was polite and very helpful.  It couldn't have gone more smoothly.  I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Thanks for getting us in so quickly today. Solomon was very friendly and knowledgeable. He explained everything that he was going to do and why. He also explained the additional charges and why. The quality of work looks excellent.

This was my worst experience ever as a 45 year homeowner. I had several problems with their unsuccessful efforts to repair a leaking tub faucet.

Be aware that their hourly rate is EXTREMELY high. They have 2 fees; one for diagnosis and one for repair work. The first plumber could not repair the problem because he didn't have the necessary part. I had to obtain the new part. His high diagnosis fee was NOT applied to the second visit and its higher repair fee. The second plumber also could not fix the problem because he said I needed a different repair part, which I also had to obtain.

As if the fee levels weren't bad enough, the leaking problem was worse after the work each plumber did and left the job.

Second time using this place and they are great. Daniel was awesome. They are honest and up front about their prices and about what work needs to be done. Highly recommend if you care about the quality of your plumbing.

Fantastic Work!

We needed about eighty feet of gas line ran to our kitchen all the way from the meter. Other contractors had recommended going right down the outside of the house but Scott suggested an alternative route through the attic that saved on materials and exposed less pipe to the elements.  He and his crew were always on time and got the job done quickly and with no mess.  The result was a very neat and clean installation that promptly passed inspection.  We're new home owners and, based on this job, the next time we have a plumbing project we'll be calling BMP.

Needed a garbage disposal replaced and a line cleared. Soloman was great fair quick and clean. Will call again ask for soloman

Price gouging alert !! A person named Solomon called and was very courteous, but asked for 3 times the market price for the work. Knowing that plumbing and water issues are critical for anyone , could have been easily fooled.

We had John come over and save the day. He rebuilt the valve in our bathroom shower.  If 30 minutes of work at $425 sounds reasonable, give him a call.

I think Black mounting plumbing does a great work, but the price is too high. I had my shower cartridge replaced and paid $386. Although I needed to replace it urgently, paying $386 seems way too expensive.

These guys are awesome. They come when they say they will, prices are reasonable, and they make sure the job's done right.

I had a tub replaced and there ended up being some extra problems with the sub flooring (pre-existing - nothing they did) and they just took care of it with no fuss.

My previous plumber was having trouble following through with what they promised, so this is a huge improvement.

Early arrival!  Courteous!  Wore shoe covers in the house!  And our plumber wore the American flag and scripture and In God We Trust on his company shirt sleeve.  Love that!  Highly recommend!

We had BMP install a toilet. When the plumber was done he when to the front door and ask for a check. I could hear water running in the bathroom, so I called him back upstairs. He eventually admitted that a seal was leaking and pointed out that if BMP had provided the toilet the problem would be his. I later found that the toilet parts were not correctly installed and it was not the filler valve as he had told me, but the drain valve that was leaking.

Bottom line is BMP probably has plumbers who can install a toilet and correctly diagnose a leak. But I sure didn't get one this time.

I had just about the worst clog possible in my kitchen sink - we tried high pressure blasters, snaking it ourselves, etc and we just couldn't get the sink unclogged.

Called Black Mountain Plumbing and they were on time, super courteous, sent me texts when the plumbers were on the way and did the job well under what was quoted. Thank you so much Nick & John!!!!

I had a clogged drain adjacent to my washer and I was able to get someone out in a timely fashion. I was able to have the snake run through the pipe and it working within the hour. However it was the type of service and quality you could observe with Black Mountain Plumbing. 5 stars for sure.

First I have to say they are pretty high tech---with texting alerts and prompt phone calls. After many service/plumbing experiences I was ready for them to be late or to not call. Yet they texted and called. I was also emailed and got a text post service.

Secondly, Solomon Nwosu was awesome---he was coridal and affable while at the same time knowledgable about the plumbing situation I had. He was able to explain things and took his time to make sure everything was working correctly. Something to note that I don't see in many service providers was this humble attitude towards their work when I mentioned they were highly rated. I work with lots of people and I know when people come off the wrong way but just the way the company was represented really stood out to me.  

Thirdly, obviously I wish that I didn't have to call but plumbing issues will abound in home ownership and I know that I will go to Black Mountain Plumbing next time because of the quality of service and friendliness of their associates.

The best in town! Prompt, honest, give an estimate on arrival time and then you are called by the plumbing tech as he is within 20 minutes of arrival, after arrival was given a clear estimate of the job.

My first three experiences with Black Mountain Plumbing (March through August) were great, top dollar, but good work is worth paying for.

My last three interactions (September - today) have been radically different. The new scheduler is rude and unhelpful and I'm not willing to wait three days for a 4 hour arrival window.

A competitor was able to give me a 2 hour window today. I'm generally pretty loyal, but rude and condescending doesn't work for me.

Big thank you to Dylan, Scott, and Adam at Black Mountain Plumbing. We noticed water coming from  a garage wall and an exterior wall and needless to say we knew we needed help. We noticed them working at another house down the street previously and looked them up on yelp and decided to give them a go. Scott initially came out to assess the situation and provided us some options  that would work to fix the issue. Once we decided on a plan of action we set up a date and a team from black mountain came out  and got the job done in a timely and professional manner. Couldn't be happier with the work they did and we will definitely look to them for plumbing issues in the future.

We used them July 2020 did a good job replacing water heater they also came on time. But we were taken advantage of on pricing $2800.00 to replace water heater about $1300 over normal pricing. We paid because it was late in the day and have two babies in house we needed our hot water so it cost us

Black Mountain Plumbing goes above and beyond.  My review is a little over due.  My water heater started leaking really bad on a FRIDAY AFTERNOON... late, like 4 PM and I was able to get in contact with Black Mountain Plumbing they came out the same day and set me up with a temporary water heater.....YES, a temporary water heater so I could have hot water while the dry wall dried out and was replaced.  Once the dry wall was dried and replaced they came out and installed a nice new water heater.  The guys were super friendly and professional and left everything tidy and clean.  I will always call Black Mountain Plumbing for all my future needs.  THANK YOU!

Fantastic customer support and service, but I pricing is really high. I feel like I kinda got raked over the coals with my bill.

Had a leak outside my house on a hose bib connection due to a split pipe. I had to shut off water to the house to avoid a major leak. I Called them at 2:30 in the afternoon and was told that it would be $290 to show up and diagnose the problem and that would not go towards the repair. I get that it's a weekend and there would be additional fees to be paid. But this was crazy. I asked the guy to take a look at a picture of the problem to make sure he could even fix it so I wouldn't be out $290 for nothing. In all fairness he did but then I was hit with a total estimate of 700-900 because the hose bib is connected to a pool feeder. I said thanks but no thanks and called another plumber that I have used who charged me half the price. I know nothing about there service or expertise, but would be very careful relying on this company to give you a fair price especially on a weekend.

I've used Black Mountain Plumbing twice now.  The first time, Scott and Adam did some gas line work for me so that we could have a gas range instead of an electric range. It's been happy cooking since. They were professional, prompt and trustworthy.

I recently noticed a strange wet spot in my front yard. I called Black Mountain Plumbing once more. Zion responded and diagnosed the problem almost immediately. He fixed a leak in the underground PVC pipe fast. Zion was also very professional and polite. He explained everything to me so that I knew what was happening and how it was going to be fixed.  He even gave me some golf tips!

I'm hoping I don't have any further issues but if I do, I'm calling Black Mountain Plumbing.

I can't speak about the personnel or quality of work.  I contacted them for a quote to replace my leaky water heater.  this was all done over the phone.  the price I was quoted was $1,400 more than the other 4 quotes I had already received and they were not going to be able to do the job for 4 days which was 2 days longer delay than anybody else I called.

Maybe they were busy and just threw out a high quote but if you're busy, just tell me.  I have no other experience with them so maybe this was just the anomaly and the quote was high for some reason but I obviously went with another plumber who addressed the problem the day I called and charged quite a bit less.

We had a toilet leaking from the tank into the bowl.  The tank was refilling a small amount of water every hour.

Black Mountain is the most professional plumbing company I have hired. Zion came to my mother's home to address an issue with a toilet. He was professional, had common sense, and had attention to detail. She hired three other plumbing companies in the past few years to attempt to fix the issue The flapper which was replaced each time. None of the other plumbers had the knowledge to also replace the small rubber tube that goes to the overflow tube.

Reasonable rates.  They service North County.

Easy to set up appointment, plumber was on time, friendly and was able to fix the issue quickly. Would definitely recommend!

Very knowledgeable and quick to figure out what was wrong with my toilet.   John came with a mask and was friendly and courteous.  I will never use any other plumbing company.   Thanks BMP and John!

Everyone I dealt with was amazing. Had a non/slow flushing toilet due to a clog. Called in the afternoon and scheduled an appointment for the following day. They called back to let me know a spot opened up and that they could send someone right away. Dylan was extremely professional, kind and thorough. After removing the plastic makeup tube that caused the clog, he shared some knowledge and answered all my questions, thank you Dylan!

They also use a notification system to text/email you with all updates which is extremely helpful. Great company. Will gladly do business with them again!

I am so impressed with this company. We had an object accidentally flushed down the toilet over the weekend. Black Mountain came right away to check it out. I am also so impressed with how sensitive they are to the Coronavirus social distancing measures. They are really taking care of their team. He arrived fully protected- gloves, face mask, shoe covers. Everything was done mindfully and at a distance. When the job was done he took the time to sanitize and wipe down everything he touched. Amazing experience and highly recommend!

We felt so lucky to have Adam help us out with an emergency shower handle cartridge failure. He was very professional with great communication. Such a great guy who did the job quickly and left our bathtub/shower spotless. We are grateful for his expertise!!!!

Scott from BMP not only completed an amazing installation of my new whirlpool tub, but he expeditiously found a solution to a major bump in the road. My tub was ordered backward (by me). Scott caught this immediately and Black Mountain Plumbing took it upon themselves to help me out. Despite the fact that Lowe's employees were having trouble identifying the replacement product, Scott, with the help of his son (intern), drove around the county until they found the right one and had the install completed flawlessly and fast. Not only did they complete the install, but they helped take potential stress out of my remodel.

Had a tankless water heater installed by Black Mountain Plumbing 10 years ago (yes, I take far too long to write a review). They were so helpful, quick, clean, and neat with that project that when a new plumbing issue came up they quickly came to mind, so I gave them a call. Solomon came out today to fix an issue a handyman created. Sorted it straightaway, and for less than I expected, does that ever happen?! He then took the time to check a couple things in the house that I had questions about, and actually put my mind to ease on some of my worries. I've been fortunate to not have had many plumbing issues so far (knock wood), but my experiences with Black Mountain Plumbing so far, and Solomon's genuinely friendly and informative approach gives me confidence that when the next issue comes around they'll be the first ones I call.

They used to be our Plummers of choice. But since they moved to a service that screens the call they no longer return calls which is a shame...

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! If I could give a lower rating I would. And keep in mind I don't Yelp often. Scroll down and see what others have written. Had Daniel Kent of Black Mountain Plumbing come out to the house by SERVPRO and was very unprofessional. Couldn't tell me what was leaking or what I needed to buy to get a new hot water tank. Looked at me and then went to the hot water tank and said it's 12 years old, that's why your hot water tank doesn't work. Told me isn't there to educate me and that he is only there to move it and put temporary lines up while the demo work is being done. Very very unprofessional. He will not ever get to come out here again. Scott the owner isn't any better, as when I called him, he wanted to educate me on his credentials and tell me that they aren't there to inform the client what has happened or why it happened but only to do the job and that's it. This company is a joke.

Great job. John and Eric were very thorough, explained my options, and did what was needed. I've used Black Mountain Plumbing 3 times and every time they've gone above and beyond. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks again to the company and crew. Great all around.

This company is awesome! Solomon & his assistant were professional. punctual and got our shower head fixed very quickly. I'm really happy with them and will definitely be a repeat customer when I need their service again. 5 stars all the way

Called a few places and they had the soonest availability to come look at a leak.  I had gotten it looked at by another plumber and their thought was it was the shower pan and wanted to basically demo my bathroom.  I wanted to get a 2nd opinion so I called Black Mountain Plumbing, their plumber gave me the hourly rate for leak detection and went to work.  He was clean, thoughrough, and found the problem was unsealed shower handle and cracked grout that needed repair and resealing.  Can't speak to whether their hourly rate is high but only got charged for 1 hour and it saved me a bathroom remodeling/demo.  Worth every penny.

I had a problem with a leaky toilet. Black Mountain Plumbing was able to get me in same day, luckily. I was kept in the loop of e.t.a. of plumber and his name via text and an e-mail confirmation. Daniel showed up right when he said he would. He was very kind, professional and easy to communicate with. He was in and out in about 1/2 an hr.

I was referred to Black Mountain Plumbing by a friend.  I don't believe I've ever had a better referral.  Scott went above and beyond any ordinary house call.  He took videos of the problem area, and clearly and plainly explained our rights and the legal requirements related to our kitchen sink plumbing connection.  He quickly and easily described three options, and provided a written estimate with costs related to each of the three options, in an expeditious manner.  He was the consummate professional. Wedding Ring Rescued! As an over 15 year client of Black Mountain Plumbing I'm not surprised at once again receiving SUPERB service. I first met Scott Ferrell in 2003 when he walked me thru TWO bathroom remodels in our Rancho Peñasquitos home of 25 years. He was thorough, honest and highly skilled craftsman. Thru the years he has taught his TEAM his high standards and principles as we have used them for many repairs.
But Tuesday night was a new high! I contacted BMP late when my wife dropped her wedding ring down the sink! Scott's Technicians were on it first thing and rescued our priceless treasure that has survived 4 kids and almost 30 years. Thanks Scott and Black Mountain Plumbing for caring and always being there!

These guys are excellent. Travis and his crew did a great job removing and replacing a leaking water heater. They were quick, courteous and clean. They explained exactly what they were doing along the way. When finished, Travis explained the operation of the new heater. They arrived on time. Worked quickly and left the area cleaner than when they got here.

This is my 2nd time using Black Mountain. I will continue to use them.

I have to start by saying that I did not actually get work done by them. But they were the sixth plumber I called this morning, none of whom had any availability today, and the only one to, unprompted, offer suggestions of other plumbers I might call in my area who might be available. That comes across as very professional and more interested in customer service than getting paid.

Adam was a lifesaver!! Our shower handle broke and I got several plumbers telling me it would require changing the valve inside (over $1K repair). Adam was able to replace the handle without messing the valve or the tiles saving us tons of money. He was very patient and persistent in getting the broken pieces out and our handle works like a charm now. Thank you!!!!

had a water leak underneath the slab. these guys came out to give me an estimate. i had 3 other companies come out as well. BMP was right inline with everyone else so i chose them. they also had really good reviews online so i felt they would do a good job. i wasn't really happy with where they ran my piping in the attic, so i told them. John came out,  listen to my concerns and said no problem he would fix what i wanted done. no questions asked. he also went above and beyond and showed me how fix a few issues with my tankless water heater and recommended a couple things that i will probably have them come out and do in the next couple years. they scheduled the job pretty quick and got me up and running within a few hours.

Our Hot Water Heater was leaking, slowly, so i scheduled them to come take a look. The scheduling lady on the phone set up the appointment, but never noted there was a minumim $50 charge just for coming out.  It's really my fault for not asking, but i felt she should have at least let me know since it seems so many companies are offering free quotes and such.  The Tech, Soloman, was very friendly and seemed quite knowledgeable, and he was a local too.  The ballpark estimate he gave seemed pretty high. I ultimately went elsewhere since we were able to use the home warranty we had in place (that i'd forgotten about before scheduling BMP, oops), but i wanted to try a local spot first since we live in SR.  Ultimately the 3 star rating because it seemed a little pricey and I wasn't trilled to pay the $50 charge just for the quote; but i share in the responsibility for not having asked. I would recommend the operator note it in the future, but the company seemed pretty good all things considered.

I have used Black Mountain Plumbing numerous times, with different technicians, and it always goes very well. The employees are knowledgeable, professional, explain and show what they are doing, responsive, etc. They don't do work that isn't required, or give time frames on when you should schedule work and why (rush, not rush, before warranty expires, etc). Most recently Solomon did my water heater install and changed a few valves while he was there. I felt comfortable working with him, as he clearly took care and pride in his work, and as with all the BMP staff I've worked with, is friendly and knowledgeable. I will always use BMP for my plumbing needs.

Fast, friendly, professional service.   Very impressed with knowledge, attention to detail, answers to questions.    So thankful to have found them through referral from a neighbor!  Very happy to get to use my bathroom shower again- easily fixed the broken pipe, saved us from having to start removing tiles to access the pipe.

I had the cartridge replaced on my master shower less than a year ago. They claim that they have no record of the work being done and insinuated that I was just trying to pull a fast one. The guy even said Isn't it convenient that we don't have a record, and now you are saying its dripping

We spent a lot of money with this company and feel absolutely ripped off!.. They even hiked the rates above the initial quote when the work was done. And then the work on the shower didn't last a year!

Dealing with tradesmen can be challenging - you don't always know with whom you're dealing and more often than not, they speak an unfamiliar language.
In this case, I know enough plumbing words to be conversational but I needed a specialist. Black Mountain Plumbing and especially Scott, were terrifically helpful with my somewhat out of the ordinary plumbing issues. Scott was professional, honest, and highly ethical in our dealings. I will definitely be using them again!

Thank goodness for Dylan Rose at Black Mountain Plumbing.  We have been experiencing a nagging leak in our bedroom bathroom for years.  My husband and his friend took out the shower pan and sealed it tightly, re-tiled and re-plastered the kitchen ceiling, but the dreaded leak marks showed up a month later in the ceiling.  Dylan listened to our saga, thought about where else the leak could be, explained it to me, wrestled off the fused brass pipes, and FIXED the leak behind the shower water fixture.  The next morning, I thought the leak had not been fixed because water started dripping through the ceiling, but two days later all of his hard work paid off and the leak was fixed.  Thanks so much, Dylan!

We have had two exceptional experiences with Black Mountain Plumbing so I felt the need to post and praise them.  They are honest, professional, and try their best to schedule you ASAP.  The staff is diligent and truly cares about you and you plumbing issue.  They are a wonderful company and I would recommend them to you for all your plumbing needs.  If you are in Scripps they advertise a coupon.  If not, simply ask....it never hurts:). When needed, they are there for you.

We are very happy with the work done for us by Black Mountain Plumbing on a number of occasions.  This is a company that has it together from start to finish.  They are very good at what they do.  They are hard-working and knowledgeable.  Recently I provided a list and each item was quickly addressed.  I would call them again for future work, and I definitely recommend them.

Hands down the best plumbers I've seen in 35 years! These guys should be called the Magic Plumbers! Fast, clean and excellent service; sink installations, faucet and drain replacements. Highly recommend John Horn and his partner Robert. They came to give an estimate and completed everything within a few hours. Amazing!

We had a commercial water heater installed in our Cafe and Robert and his staff made this an easy process from the quote through the installation!!! John was excellent on site with the installation and when an adjustment was needed to meet electrical needs Robert came out the next day and took care of everything quickly. Everything is working perfectly and I know I will be calling Robert for any plumbing needs in the future!!

Had an issue on a Saturday night about 6pm, they were quick to return my call. Robert was very friendly and did a fast and accurate fix. He explained everything that was needed to be done and showed me afterwards what was done. Highly recommended!!

I asked them to fix a leaking shower in a rental condo based on reviews here on yelp.  The tenant suspected that a washer just needed changing.  Scheduling was no problem and they were out the next day with text updates sent to my phone.  I had to give the dispatcher my credit card number to cover the service call fee (I think).  I got a text saying your job has been completed.  I thought that was great -- it had probably just been the washer and that he changed it out as part of the service call.  

Got a call from the tenant several weeks later -  When are you going to fix this leaking shower faucet?  I had never heard another peep from Black Mountain Plumbing.  Tenant says he was given a quote for $350 to replace all the shower stall faucets.  I went to the hardware store and bought a washer for about 7 cents just in case that was the problem.  I went to the apartment and without having to shut off the water and using only a pipe wrench, replaced the washer in under ten minutes.  Total cost: 7 cents.

Great service.  Definitely recommend.  I liked that i got text msges to confirm appt and when driver was on the way.  Prompt & courteous!

Black Mountain Plumbing are the BEST plumbers in San Diego!  Call center person was quick to get me into the schedule same day knowing the urgency with no fuss, easy to talk with, and fast.  The field supervisor Robert was assigned to my call and I'm so glad, you couldn't find someone smarter than him, he really knows his trade and then some.  He was fast, great communication, didn't try to price gouge me, and very conscientious about keeping things clean during a messy job.  Very refreshing to find a company that's honest, reliable, affordable, and easy to do business with.  These are the BEST plumbers in San Diego!  Thank you Black Mountain Plumbing!

James worked very deliberately and took extra care to ensure that his work was superior.  I liked his serious attitude and professionalism.  When a problem was detected that he was not terribly comfortable with the options for solutions,  he called his superior John who, really knows what he is doing and was very competent and solved the problem quickly and efficiently.  I will use these folks in the future.  Their rates are competitive.

figured out quickly what the problem was but being the hardware
is 40 years old there was only one place in town that carries the part
and it looked like it was not going to be in until the following day which
I did not think was so bad considering the age.However,John decided
to make a stop at a Home Depot where he lives and look for that part  and by
chance home depot had the part(that doesn't happen very often)So
instead of waiting until tomorrow to come over and fix it he gave us a call
and came right over within a 1/2 hour and got it fixed the same day.
When does that ever happen ?John you deserve the 5 stars, great job

Last week we needed new faucets and water shut off values in both bathrooms in our home in Normal Heights.  We previously have used John and Black Mountain Plumbing at my Mother In Law's home in Rancho Bernardo as well as other homes we have previously owned in North County.  

We appreciated even meeting Scott (the owner) a few years back when he came out over New Years when we had a major plumbing leak.  All the guys doing work for us have been excellent!  

John has come to our home the last couple of times and we love his conscientiousness as well as compulsiveness to get things done right!  John is obsessive about cleaning up after the job is completed.

I like these guys as they are consistent and they have fair pricing for top quality work.

A few months ago John put in a Rain Shower in the Master Bathroom and did great work on that too.

We wouldn't call anyone else!

Everything is working great and we love the faucets and Rain Showers now in both bathrooms!

Long overdue, but great work done by Zion! We had an issue with a leak and they to take some stucco out to fix the issue. Zion was awesome in finding out where the leak was coming from and fixing it. Was totally impressed by the work he did and on top of that, he cleaned up the stucco he had to remove after he was done.

Service call was $117 less the $20 coupon, I paid $97 for the plumber to tell me I just need a $20 part (handle for toilet) as it was broken. And on top of that I was going to be charged an additional $260 for them to come out and install the part! The original service call would be applied. The toilet handle by the way just screws on! I felt totally ripped off! I asked what part number I needed and I ended up purchasing it on Amazon and doing it myself! Totally lacking in customer service. Maybe they do well on big jobs but this was ridiculous.

Bill at HQ was great. He managed to get me scheduled the same day. Zion was right on time and did a great job. He takes pride in his work and it shows. When the job was finished the price was what I'd been quoted--no surprises; just good work at a fair price.

We called for a plumbing issue for our water outlet in our laundry area. Adam came on time and went to work right away. He also inspected other areas of the house that could possibly have plumbing issues and suggested some fix for it especially the old water pressure regulator that we have that needed replacement.

We have used Black Mountain Plumbing in the past and they have always done a great job at a fair price. They even showed us how to snake our own drains with a $4 tool.  Today, Soloman, came by and was courteous and professional.  Will use them again.
