Excellent service all around. I originally made an appointment to fix a couple Nest thermostat that Best Buy has incorrectly installed. Afterwards, I added on a laundry list of other work that needed to be done. He showed up on time (early actually) and was able to knock off every item on my list in the one appointment including replacing a circuit breaker as well as a few light switches. No wonder why Bay Area Maintenance has five stars on Yelp. Everything from my initial inquiry to the installation of my 14-50 outlet was great. Dan is very professional and courteous no BS guy. He gave me the best price while most try to overcharge you.
He even installed a cable management and charger head holder free of charge. He showed up on time and was extremely responsive to my messages. I will use BAM for all my electrical work going forward. I absolutely recommend him.

After messaging multiple electricians on Yelp for a Tesla Model 3 Nema 14-50 outlet installation, I decided to go with Bay Area Maintenance. The price was fair and communication was excellent. He answered all the questions I had and made the outlet work for my house although another electrician couldn't do it. During the installation, we tested multiple appliances to see how much amps the house was using and how much I had left to spare. His knowledge was immensely appreciated and the work was quality! Dan is the man if you need service/maintenance for the nest or an old furnace. He was recommended through the nest customer service department a few years ago. He fixed that problem and it's been running great the past couple years. But lately it's been acting up and Dan informed me that the furnace is close to the end of its life. He was forthcoming with a solution and even credited me a portion of the bill for not being able to fix the underlying issue...which is a replacement. Will definitely call him when the furnace finally gives out.

Dan's a great electrician. Surprisingly enough, one thing that impresses me most about Dan is his combined skills in admin and electrical work! lol He is super organized and responsive when booking appointments and even sends out reminder texts before appointments.

We've contacted Dan for a few jobs, such as replacement of an older thermostat (that literally other vendors were not able to fix) and installation of a mounted TV on a tile surface. I also referred him to my parents for help in installing a new light fixture and hiding TV wires.

Dan was quick to come out for a visual inspection and give a quote to install a NEMA 14-50 outlet for my Tesla. We were able to come up with a solution that simplified the installation and his quote was reasonable for this. He was able to schedule the installation 2 weeks later just in time for delivery of our new car. I contacted BAM to install a crystal chandelier in my living room. It is easy and smooth to schedule an appointment over the phone. Dan is the electrician and he shows up in time. Dan was extremely helpful and professional. He checked the weight limit of the ceiling to make sure everything is right. The original screws in the package can only hold up to 50 lbs. Dan replaced them with some screws that can hold up to 100 lbs. My crystal chandelier requires some assembling work. Dan managed to assemble the parts and install it quickly. Everything is perfect. I enjoy this service and plan to ask Dan to install another chandelier in the master bedroom.

Most recently I had a Tesla Wall Connector / Charging Station installed in my garage. Dan was terrific. He texted with me back and forth to answer all of the questions I had. He worked until 10pm to get the installation done since I tend to get home late from work (He was flexible with my schedule). Dan was professional, thorough, and was on time. The only thing I would change was to ask him to use rigid metal conduits to have a cleaner look. Dan definitely gave me the choice between rigid metal ones and the non-rigid plastic ones, but I chose what seemed easiest.

In the past I also had him install 2 Nest Thermometers and they came out great as well. He did them both quickly and they both work great.

I would recommend Dan and BAM to anybody looking for electrical / handyman work done.

Excellent service!

Dan came on time and was very easy to get a hold of via text and yelp messaging. He installed 2 Nest Cam IQ cameras for me. He was friendly, knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and quick at assessing the best placement of our cameras. He explained everything to be expected and made the process quick and easy without making me feel rushed. He was very easygoing and made me feel confident in his ability to get the job done.

Out of the three quotes I received (from companies listed as Nest Pros), his quote was the most reasonable at an average of $150 per camera. Ultimately, I paid $100 per camera and $10 each for 2 extension cords (although he offered he could use my own extension cords to avoid the extra cost). He took approximately 1.5 hours for the installation of both cameras while other companies estimated the job would take them approximately 2.5 hours. This time also included his initial assessment of our house, which only took a about ten minutes. He was very neat and careful with the installation.

Also, he took the time to assess other electrical work we may need in the future.

I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and honest professional! We look forward to contacting him for future projects.

Over the holidays, my NEMA 14-50 outlet started to smoke while my EV was charging. I stopped charging, switched off the breaker and then proceeded to search for an electrician via Yelp. I just got a Tesla and need a 220v ev charging capability. I was debating between getting 14-50 Nema outlet and the Tesla Wall charger. Dan came by to provide quotes for both and also helped me decide what to go with. Dan was very good in providing me a quote that was according to the actual work that needs to be done. Many others just gave me a standard quote even thought the work was lesser than typical, as I had conduit all done.

Dan showed up right on time as we had planned and finished the work in a matter of minutes. Although he was quick, his quality of work was quite good and also made sure clean up any debris, which I really appreciated.

Since then, I have been charging my car at about 30 miles per hour regularly. Although, the shelter in place has not allowed me to use it too much, works well whenever I do.

I will come back in 6 months and update here on how things hav shelf up. Meanwhile, don't even think twice when hiring Dan your electrical work. Dan will be our go to electrical specialist for our home.

Super professional communication. Even though I just needed to replace a doorbell transformer, BAM treated me like a high-value client. Almost instantaneous response to my enquiry on Yelp. Excellent!!! I used Dan for the installation of the Tesla wall charger. I end up selecting him out of many electricians from YELP because of the positive reviews I read from YELP. The reviews were all consistent as what I have experienced - very professional, friendly, prompt, and honest. As on his rate, his price is reasonable and similar to other electricians that quoted me.

In my experience, Dan came to setup wires from the main electric panel to the other side of the garage of the EV charger. Because the shipping of the Tesla wall charger was delay and couldn't arrive before the appointment date, Dan went to purchase an EV charger to ensure that the wiring worked well after the installation and I have a fast charger to use (borrowed a few day) while I waited for my Tesla charger. Greatly appreciate his help outside scope of his work.

Just got off the phone with Dan about a brand-new 55 LG smart TV that I was looking to sell for parts. It has a cracked display, but other than that, it's brand-new.

First of all, most businesses that miss your call will never call you back. Dan actually took the time to call me back. Keep in mind that I hadn't left a message.

Secondly, even though he wasn't interested in buying the TV, he was SUPER personable and friendly. He even told me about the different components of the TV and why in my case, the TV wasn't good for parts.

Even though I never hope to have a problem in the future with my TV, heating, or air conditioning, in the rare event that I do, I'll know who to call.

Dan is friendly, nice, personable, professional, smart, and funny. I think that counts for something these days.

Also, Dan, you should try your hand at voiceover work! You'd be good at it.

Dan was trustworthy, friendly and methodological in troubleshooting. He focuses on fixing the customer's issue unlike those who would try to sell a new furnace because your current one is too dirty. I would recommend him to everyone.

Dan stopped by for an estimate for fixing the combination of an old HVAC and Ecobee 4 in my house. He gave a heads-up on his way, and arrived on time. During the troubleshooting process, Dan was methodological in triaging the problem. He was able to quickly pinpoint the issue at the transformer. After replacing a new one, the burner and blower could finally run! Dan was able to explain the problem to me throughout the troubleshooting process.

I can't believe I didn't even leave Dan a good review the first time. I had Dan to install couple of TVs and a set of Sonos 5.1 in San Jose last year. Due to our hectic moving schedule, I had to reschedule and Dan was able to accommodate just as such. I had couple of TV mounts ready, and Dan was able to recommend me either to use it properly, or have something else readily available due to the tilt angle. Everything was done beautifully and made me want to watch TV more...

Since we had a great experience last time, we asked Dan to come back to install my new Black Friday hunt - a new OLED TV. Dan was able to come in a timely matter, figured out the LG slim mount, which was really confusing according to internet people online, and install everything firmly and properly.

Dan recently installed an EV charger for us. He came to our home for an inspection on the same day that we posted the request. Out of the 4 quotes we got, his inspection/planning was the most thorough, and his pricing was very competitive. Dan at Bay Area Maintenance was awesome. We had a furnace/Nest thermostat issue that we needed diagnosed. They came out shortly after calling them. Upfront we discussed updating the wiring for the Nest as part of the call. They did this for less than he quoted (even though I think the job was a little more difficult than he thought at first). The furnace had an issue he couldn't fix, but he helped diagnose the furnace problem and even followed up with tracking down a replacement part.

Originally I had an issue with my breaker, but guess what, as I learned about his honesty and competence, I asked him for installing of EV charger and Nest Thermostat. Suddenly my Tesla charging rate dropped from 32 to 8 amps. Called Dan and with his help we solved the problem within 30 minutes. The issue was that the high voltage adapter was not well seated in the main adapter body. I must have accidentally dislodged it.

After a few questions Dan without having to come out and looking at it quickly diagnosed the problem. Friendly and professional as usual.

Based on my great experience, Dan really wants to help for the sake of helping, not just about making the buck. Good old-fashioned values. Solved my problem without a service call! I had a problem wiring my new smart thermostat. Couldn't get power on it, and spent a few hours online trying to troubleshoot, and with the manufacturer who said it was a problem beyond their thermostat so I should call a service technician. I finally gave up and tried to reinstall the old thermostat, ...which then wouldn't work anymore. Grrr.

I knew it all was likely just a simple wiring problem. I was so reluctant to pay for a service call if it was just a $3 fuse or something beyond my scant knowledge. Finally I phoned a competitor (Sunny Appliance Repair) who offered a service call for $185, which might solve it. As pricey as that sounds, they at least answered the phone and gave me a quote - others I called didn't respond. But I just couldn't stomach shelling out the cash and the hassle of missing work to meet someone at the house, for what was no doubt a 10 minute fix. Then I read Dan's reviews, and briefly outlined my dilemma through request for quote on Yelp's page to Dan and two other companies, Sunny and AIS. The email went out around 5:45 pm.

I heard back from Dan right away via email. BAM! It was almost like a commercial, so fast. And in no time, he was troubleshooting briefly - did I try this? What about that? Guess what. He solved it with just a few brief back-and-forth emails. I offered to send him $ even though he didn't ask. He saved me so much hassle. And even if I did end up needing his help for a service call, I'm confident he'd be fast and fair.

I did hear back from the other two the next day, asking the usual what is your zip code? and no doubt preparing to quote a service call. So it's good they replied, but it would have been a frustrating service call no doubt.

You know how, when you live in town for a long, long time, you have your trusted service people that you've known forever, and you call when you need help? It's hard to find those people when you're new in town. Found one!

My main reluctance in giving Dan a five star review is that I don't want him to get too busy to come back to our house! He has been over three times: to install a thermostat (via Amazon install); to install an outlet and troubleshoot a switch; and to install two fans and two light fixtures. He recommended additional necessary work as well as providing referrals for the work. He is efficient, tidy, on time, and generally fantastic. Reasonable rates, excellent workmanship, very thorough and pleasant. Will definitely continue to be our go-to electrician.

Due to some travel restriction issues, I couldn't get ahold of my second charger so Dan was accommodating enough to lend me one of his own. Dan the Man! Dan and his team did a great job installing our new LG Smart TV on the Family Room Wall, and our Samsung on our Bedroom Wall. Dan really went the extra mile for me.

Outstanding service! Hire / contract with confidence!

New Nest Thermostat didn't work out of the box. 90+ degree temps forecasted for today. Early Saturday morning call to BAM hoping to find someone who could come out and help get my AC running with Nest. Pleasantly surprised to get a real person on the other end of the line (all others listed with Saturday service had voice mails).

After a 15 minutes of troubleshooting by phone (no one does this anymore), Dan says, ...no worries, I'll be out there in an hour. Me: Really? Wow that's great, my wife and kids will be really happy they have AC today. An hour later Dan shows up. Diagnoses the problem. Quickly rewires the control wires at furnace. Problem solved.

What I liked: 1) I got a real person when I called; 2) high level of alacrity and responsiveness; 3) professionalism - very personable but focused on solving the problem; 4) competent - executed quickly and was very knowledgeable on Nest / smart home technology; 5) Reasonable rate, didn't overcharge for Saturday hours.

I'm lucky to have stumbled upon BAM / Dan - I will definitely use his services again in the future. Thanks so much Dan!

Dan of BAM did a great TV/bracket/ Blue Ray with shelf installation for us yesterday. Excellent work, very knowledgeable, friendly and low key. He also dealt with Comcast re: our Xfinity password, hooked up another Xfinity box to another TV, sorted out the WiFi signal from the router box, and also installed a wall-mount light fixture. I'm having him come back soon to hang some heavy pictures. Can't recommend him highly enough.

Highly recommended for a Tesla wall charger install. Dan was quick to respond to all my questions. Tesla online was sold out for weeks on wall chargers but Dan was able to secure one for me in a matter of days--that's service. I am so glad I found these guys.

Four four years, I have had problems with my furnace/AC unit. I have had three companies come out and have a look at it. BAM was the fourth.

For each one, the furnace was fixed and worked for a short time, or not fixed at all. Sometimes it worked for one hour, and sometimes it worked for a few months. The majority of the time in our house the heat and A/C would not work. Each person who came had a different explanation of the problem. Each one charged about $125 for service regardless of the quality of service they provide.

One company charged to tell me that my thermostat was broken (which was obvious) and they could not even look at the heater with that broken thermostat. An electrician told me that I would need to replace the wires in my walls, and tear apart my plaster walls with custom paint.

I was dreading having to find a fourth person - while being bedridden sick and with my house getting colder, preparing to host a holiday party I desperately called around. I was not sure whether the problem was electrical or furnace.

I called BAM. They called me back in a timely manner. The service guy was so kind to make room in his schedule to come to my house the next day! On such short notice, they were one of the few places I called who were willing to deal with furnace and electrical problems.
Their business model is a free estimate of work to be done, at which point the client could decide.

The guy came right on time. He checked at least four points where there could be a problem and described everything he was doing. He checked the power going into the furnace and verified the correct voltage. He found that the power leaving the furnace was not correct. Due to a loose neutral wire. After tightening that, the heater worked. My point is, he could have estimated that the entire furnace electrical board needed replacement, and I would be none the wiser.

After he left, my heater stopped working. I messaged him later that night, and he further explained all the possible problems, at 9 pm. He walked me through all the things to check. The next morning I took his advice and checked the things he told me to check, fixed the problem and learned a few new things.

I am grateful for these guys. My heater is permanently working and I know at least two potential failure points for the future and how to fix them. I'll be using these guys again.

Our 29-year old reliable gas forced-air furnace stopped working just a few days into the cold season. The pilot light was on and the fan could be turn on manually; however, it would not ignite. Last winter, a technician from a well known HVAC repair company told us after a short inspection that the furnace needed a new gas valve and gave us a repair estimate of at least $500. We were therefore worried that time had come to let go with Old Reliable since we would rather put the $500 towards buying a new furnace than a new gas valve. We decided to get a last diagnosis.

After calling a few repair companies that quoted me high non-refundable service/inspection fees (fee would apply to the repair cost if one is performed) and/or told me they weren't available for days or weeks, I called Dan of BAM. Sometimes, you just get lucky! Dan arrived in about 20 minutes, fixed the furnace within an hour and charged us only a bit more than the service/inspection fee others had quoted. Then, a few days later, when Old Reliable started shutting down prematurely, Dan came back and adjusted the temperature limit control for no additional charge. He even showed me how to do it myself if need be. Wow! By the way, since the repair, we've been feeling the heat through the registers in our master bedroom more than ever.

Dan is professional, responsive, knowledgeable and honest, in addition to showing an unusual dedication to solving the customer's problem. I recommend BAM wholeheartedly!

I just bought a new Samsung Frame TV and I needed someone to mount the TV for me.
I requested the quotes from several different vendors and Dan was not only the first person who replied me immediately, but also the guy who offered me the best quote.

So I scheduled an appointment with Dan in few days after I've received the quote. On the appointment day, Dan came a little bit earlier in the morning, which really helped me a lot to have extra spare time to do my own later.

Needed to replace the stationary wall mount for my large screen TV with an articulating mount. The folks who originally installed the stationary mount were referred as excellent and somewhat high end. They were fine but expensive, not particularly great, and left in a rush with some details still not resolved. Based on good reviews, I called Dan for this swap-out. He did an excellent job; took his time and made adjustments that we requested; cleaned up completely; and was super polite throughout. And he cost less than the other guys. Would definitely use him for other projects that come up.

Our TV finally gave up after a long run. Wanted to replace it quickly. So, I ran out an bought a new one. But, I needed to have it mounted and did not want to do it myself. The old TV was already mounted on the wall and fully wired with speakers. So, I needed to remove the old TV and mount the new one. I found Bay Area Maintenance on Yelp and gave them a call. Dan picked up and explained my situation. He agreed to come over later the same day to install my new TV. He arrived on time and did an excellent job in installing my new TV. Even went thru the features and updated the firmware on the TV.

The light circuit in my kids rooms were out, I tried to reset it from the main panel and failed. I called many electricians trying to get it fixed but nobody has time to come out. I had a great experience with Bay Area Maintenance. I had Dan over to help me hook up my thermostat when I was having AC issues. Dan was able to re-wire and install my thermostat correctly as well as diagnose that my compressor wasn't working properly and that I needed to have HVAC professionals come repair it. Dan seemed very honest and was genuinely reluctant to take my money when my AC still wasn't working even though it wasn't his fault. I cannot recommend him enough.

Dan and Kris worked on several little projects in my home, and they are great. They are on time, friendly and professional. I also wanted to install a barn door in my bedroom, so they did some research to provide several options to complete this project (i.e. choice of wood for head casing so it would match door, what to do with the door frame, etc.). They assembled the door, removed the closet door frame, and prepped the wall for texturing and painting. I could not be happier with the result. I highly recommend BAM for any home repairs.

I woke up one morning, and I found out my water pipe burst! My husband tried taping the pipe in our back yard but it still leaked. That morning I called BAM to come and take a look. I had some urgent maintenance work with bathroom this afternoon, I rang a number of handyman, no one is available, when I called Dan, he said he will come, a few minutes later, he was there and started working on the issue, what impressed me the most is that Dan is unlike others, he cares about his customer more than how much he will get paid, rather than making small things a big job and costly, he suggested to do a small fix, which he did, He also told me if there are any problems with this, he will replace it for free, isn't this kind of person you want to hire? I highly recommend Dan and Bay Area Maintenance. We were having an issue with our Nest thermostat, a new wire needed to be installed. Dan called me back right away and actually came to the appointment early, when does that ever happen? He was very professional and explained exactly what he needed to do. He quickly installed the wire and fixed the issue. His prices are very reasonable as well.At the same time he noticed another unrelated problem with our doorbell. He tried to troubleshoot the problem for us. A few days later I called him to help fix the doorbell issue. He remembered the problem and said he really wanted to figure out the issue. He came out a few days later, again early!!! He installed new wires, but that didn't fix it, he kept troubleshooting until he got it fixed. He was here about an hour and did not charge us a cent for parts or labor!!! I was blown away by his kindness. Again I highly recommend BAM. It is nice to see that there are still honest and hardworking people out there. I will definitely use this company again.
