My go-to favorite plumber for any job! Over the years Barney and Alex have done a number of jobs for me. From helping replace a kitchen faucet and leaking cartridge valves in the showers (hard water of Vacaville), to a last minute installation of a water heater. I was out of town on business and my wife called me saying our old water heater quit. Alex came right over and first tried to save me some money by testing to see if it was a part he could replace. We ended up replacing it though and he installed a new one that day! Super happy with their service and professionalism.

Great service, affordable pricing and good communicator. Had the major waterline into the house break leaving us without water. Called them at 7:00 AM thinking I would leave a voice message in hopes of getting on their schedule for the day. THEY ANSWERED THE PHONE!!!...said they would be out by 8:30AM was there just after 8AM. Explained the pricing options, warranty and even set me at ease about the misinformation I received from my neighbors about what it would cost. They came highly recommended from a Friend and did not disappoint. Don't risk drawing a blank on who to call when your plumbing fails . Put their number up somewhere visible NOW!

Great service! Came right over and replaced my mangled disposal (yes, I mangled it) within the hour. As a plus the plumbing was tweaked a bit to eliminate future problems, and they politely pointed out a worn out pressure regulator. I would definitely call again.

I HIGHLY recommend Barney's Affordable Plumbing! Alex is not only incredibly professional and courteous, he was very patient explaining what was being fixed and answering every question I had. I needed to swap out a bathroom faucet because the one I had broke beyond repair (cheap construction grade garbage), however I also found out that my valves wouldn't close all the way when I went to shut the water off below. I called and left a message, and within a couple of hours I got a call back and an appointment set for the next day at 10am. Around 9:30 I got a call from Alex that he finished his first job faster and asked if I would like him to come over sooner, which I was happy to say yes. He got straight to work and swapped the valves and faucet out in no time. The drain was being difficult, which was due to the pop up stopper and took some extra time. Alex made sure it was right and did not charge me any extra for the extra time it took. I have two other projects (outside leak and installing a recirculator) that I will most certainly be calling Alex for!! Again, I highly recommend you call Barney's Affordable Plumbing!!

On December 29th our home had serious plumbing problem and my husband tried to fix it, didn't work. This morning on 12/30 we decided to call Affordable Plumbing and Alex answer the phone and let us know that the charge to unplug our pipe would be $155.00 and that he would be there around 10 - 10:30 he arrived at 10:15. Alex worked for about 45 minutes and he cleared the pipes. As he said the price for his service was $155.00. I have used Affordable Plumbing two or three times over the last several years. When you find a good plumber, keep their number handy. The owner answers the phone and arrives timely. He is responsive, reasonable, and ethical. He does not create extra charges. He does not work on commission. He is a small business that keeps prices affordable. Having worked with the trades for 40 years, reviewing estimates and invoices, this is the only plumber I will refer to friends, family, strangers!! If you have a plumbing need, I hope you call. Our water heater was acting up the week between Christmas and New Years. I called Barney's Affordable Plumbing and Alex was at my house in less than an hour. He pointed out our water heater was still under warranty and told me exactly what parts needed replacing so I could request them from the company. That alone saved us hundreds of dollars by not just replacing the parts and charging us for them. By the time all of the parts arrived to our house, it was New Year's Eve and we had been without hot water for 4 days. Alex came over as soon as UPS dropped off the parts and got everything installed for us.
His knowledge, timeliness and helpfulness could not have been better and we will use Barney's Affordable Plumbing in the future and recommend them highly to others.

We had someone from Barney's come out to work on a plumbing issue for us recently. After a couple hours working on the problem he charged us a reasonable rate and we all thought it was fixed. A few days later however we experienced the same problem and called them back. After further inspection he found that it was a much more complicated issue and he didn't have the proper equipment for it so recommended another company. Although he had spent several hours working for us (doing dirty work too!) He refunded the entire amount we had paid. I was very impressed and appreciated this integrity. I'd be happy to hire them again.

If you want prompt, professional plumbing service call Barney's Affordable Plumbing. I have a home warranty. Their services charges may be a be a little lower than Barney's charges, but you wait for them to respond to your request, you must pay the service charge before they will assign a service man and then you wait for days before anyone shows up. When you call Barney's Affordable Plumbing , they call back promptly. If they say they will be there in a hour, they are there in an hour and their prices are very reasonable. Alex is professional, efficient and a superb plumber. I just he never goes away.

I had a badly clogged bathroom sink that I couldn't clear myself. I called Affordable in the a.m. and spoke to Barney. He gave me an exact quote, which was 25% less than the next closest bid. He was on his way to Benicia but said he could be here early p.m. He called when he was on his way, arrived promptly with an assistant, and went right to work. His experience, expertise, and the right tools took care of the problem in short order. No games. No gimmicks. Just good honest work. Call them if you need plumbing work.

I really dread calling a plummer for simple things we can usually do ourselves. My husband's injured shoulder prevented him from being able to change our kitchen faucet and we let it go for the longest time. Our sewer drains have been running slow so I had to call the plummer, and I figured I might as well get a quote to do the kitchen faucet as well.
I called them at 9:30, It is now just before noon and both jobs are already done.
Two people came, the owner and a young gentleman, they were very friendly and professional. I felt at ease right away, I do not like being home alone when service people come to my house due to a prior bad experience.
Wow, what awesome service. I put their business magnet on my fridge and will not hesitate to call them again.

My family has been customers of Barney's Affordable Plumbing for 10+ years now and we have always been satisfied with the professionalism, quality of work, and customer service. Barney has worked on my toilets, kitchen sink, sprinklers, etc.

I called Thursday morning 6-30-16, called me back that afternoon, scheduled for Friday 7-1-16 between 9-10am.

Barney and Alex show up early around 8:30! Very punctual. They assessed the job and completed it within an hour. Probably would have finished quicker if I didn't talk so much!

I had an ongoing pipe leak I ignored outside because it was just a drip for a year.When it started to spray against siding one morning I knew it had to be fixed now. What do you do?Look on yelp and hope for the best.They came out within an hour and replaced the bad stuff.It has been 3 weeks and still no drips or leakS. I am very pleased with the job Barney did for me today. I had another plumber leave without finishing the job and he never returned to finish it. Barney came in gave me an estimate and then when I agreed to the price he finished the whole job on the spot with his partner. He also was able to fix a few other things that were not right that he found along the way and didn't even charge me more! Plus, he installed the pipes in a way that cleaned up the look of the pipes. I wish I had taken a before picture for a before and after. He is a plumber that really cares about doing a job well and he treats your home like his own.

Alex came by to check on a toilet leak. Although I made repairs to the toilet, it was still leaking and I thought for sure there was another part that would require taking the tank off.

He assessed the situation and found the issue very quickly. User error as it turns out. Rather than charging me for the few minutes or suggesting something else had to be fixed, he showed me what I did wrong and what to look out for next time.

He was also very responsive and extraordinarily professional. If you ever need something done I would not hesitate to call this company. Their honesty and affordable quotes (I asked for some additional work effort) should be rewarded with more business.

In response to barney's wife comments. You did rip me off the hot water heater what you installed was damaged and bent in on the side as it still is. Take a look if you want. You charged me 1100.00 total for a 40 gal. Water heater. The room is vented as you admitted when you were here. You did overcharge me the first time that is why I had the manufacture talk to you and me in a conference call so you could not overcharge me again. I asked for an estimate and you said it won't be much not to worry about it. As far as me having a job that's pretty chickenshit for your wife to say as the reason I was upset. Sorry I spoke the truth ou again tried to rip me off and the only reason I even called you is because you installed it originally. This website is here for a reason so people can be aware of asking and not being afraid to speak up when being ripped off. You and I are done. My water heater went out a few days ago and I had my wife check on Dixon 411 to see who was recommended. Barney's Affordable Plumbing came up as the the place to call and I did. The original problem was the pilot light would not stay lit. Barney said that the problem was the gas valve. He didn't have one that fit so he gave me the name of another company that should have the valve available and on top of that he DID NOT CHARGE me for the service call. Well the other company didn't have the part so I called around for quotes to replace the heater (50 gallon natural gas) which ranged from $2800 to $2400. I selected Barney and he only ended up charging $2K total. When he was done the work was to code and the water heater was working great. I recommend Barney to anyone in the Dixon/Vacaville area. I will be calling Barney later this year for some improvements I am planning for my bathrooms.

I called Barney after reading the recent reviews here on yelp. I had a leaky shower and a running toilet. I was expecting a lot worse of a problem with the shower but Barney used his experience to diagnose and fix the problem in about 20 minutes and with no demolition to my shower enclosure! I was VERY pleased with that! The toilet was a simple fix but he did it right so that it would last. He was here within an hour of me calling and he had the job done in less than an hour. Very polite and knowledgeable. I would definitely call Barney again if I ever need a plumber! Total price was under $200!!! Thank you Barney for the great job!!

I had an appt with a well known company and ended up cancelling because they were 90 minutes late after their 2 hour window. I chose this company because of one google review. I left a message, within 10 minutes Barney called me and set up an appt for 7:30 this morning (my choice), 7:20 he shows up does his magic and by 7:40 he had been paid (@ a $75.00 savings from the other company). I called Barney because I had a leak in my kitchen sink. I thought I needed a new sink and faucet originally and maybe a garbage disposal. He came out within 24 hours and looked and let me know that the problem was the disposal and also a leak in the faucet which I was looking to replace anyway. If anyone is looking for an awesome company to deal with well this is the one and only for me. I called another company called Same Day Service that gave me 3 estimates and were around $1,200.00 to $2,850.00 oh and by the way I had to pay for the estimate $49.00 I was so blown out of the water and did not know what
do. I would highly recommend this plumbing service. Today I discovered I had a blockage of some kind in my plumbing lines. I called Affordable Plumbing because I recently had a friend use them and they recommended them. The owner was extremely friendly and efficient. I live in the country and my house didn't seem to have a clean-out in the area needed so he climbed the roof and cleared the line via a roof access. I didn't even know you could do that.

Anyway, he was quick, friendly, knowledgeable, and priced right as well. I will definitely keep him on my list of great service providers.

I noticed we had a clog in the cleanout outside our house. I called a random plumber from the phone book (not Affordable Plumbing) to come out and clean the drain. He stuck a camera down there and we discovered that the main sewer line from our house to the street had collapsed. I knew the line was old and corroded and it finally gave way. To make matters more interesting, this was the day before my wifes due date for our first baby.
The bid from the plumber that cleaned the drain was $5,500. So then I called Affordable Plumbing and Barney came out and gave me a $1900-$2400 range for the job. The price was dependent on how difficult it would be to trench through the tree roots. He would also replace the water line as well since we knew this was old and wouldn't last much longer. To be thorough, I got a third and fourth bid. The third bid was $4650 and the fourth was $2500 and would take 2 days. Affordable Plumbing was the best price so I went with them.
I explained my situation to Barney with the baby due any day and he promised to be there in the morning and get it done in one day. He came out before 8am and by 1pm they were completely done! I had my retired plumber friend inspect the work and everything looked good. Barney even reran piping up to my garden hose in copper and put in new quarter-turn valves for the hose and the main water line. He even put in a new cleanout and capped it off neatly with metal ties.
Overall I was very impressed with the quality of his work and his honesty. I would recommend him to anybody looking for a quality job for a decent price. The final price came out to be $2000 which was worth it.

Alex came right out to troubleshoot my water heater and changed some hookups. Said the water heater is only 8 years old and appears in good working order. I'll watch water inside house for awhile prior to replacing water heater. He could have just sold me an expensive water heater but wants to be sure that's the problem before having me spend the money. Wonderful service and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend.

I didn't know who to call and being new to the area I couldn't rely on a friends recommendation. But I was in desperate need of a plumber. I found Barney's Affordable Plumbing in the Town Hall Magazine for Leisure Town and took a chance. Alex promptly answered the phone and said he could help me with my problem and would arrive in 15 minutes. Not too many plumbers snake from the roof vent and that was what I needed. He arrived and after introductions went right to work and was able to resolve the clogged drain.
He didn't leave a mess like many contractors do. He was courteous, professional and kind to my annoying dog (big score in my book). He understood the problem and resolved it quickly but still took time to answer my questions to make sure I was comfortable with the service performed.
No one likes to have the issue where they have to call for plumbing services. But if you do I highly recommend Barney's. Dependable, professional and priced fairly

My wife called and this company was very knowledgable from the start. He showed up when he said he would show up and fixed my problem in 15 min. His prices are very reasonable and I would call him again in a heartbeat if i have the need for a plumber. He didn't try to up sell me into something I didn't need which is always a bonus. Called barney about the toilet which did what it wanted to when it wanted to. he called me back said he was on the way he was here in 10 minutes knew exaclety what the problem was fixed it and told me what not to do and I asked him if he would look at the garbage disposal while he was here no problem. very reasonable price thank you barney great to no there is still good people.

This is the second time using this company. The first experience (a few years ago) was pleasant, so when the pilot light went out on my water heater and would not stay lit when I tried to get it going again I called them again. One thing I can say about the service, Barney came out within the hour, and he did get the water heater pilot to stay lit. I also had him repair a hose bib in the backyard that needed an extension and repair. So the 2 stars are for the fact that he did fix the things I needed repaired. However, AFFORDABLE? I don't print money in the basement either so his affordable and my affordable are 2 different things. Charged $125.00 to vacuum my water heater closet. (yes that's apparently all that was wrong...who knew) Charged $200.00 to repair and extend the hose bib. Both tasks taking less than an hour to complete. That's $325.00 an hour!!! I'm sorry but in my world that is not what I would advertise as affordable!! We also did not find him to be friendly at all! Which is odd because I don't remember that from the first time I used him. Oh I must add to be fair; he did take off $5.00 because we paid in cash....thanks Barney. This home owner will not be calling this AFFORDABLE plumber again! That is until I get that printing press in the basement working............

Have used these guys a couple of times and the service is spotty to say the least. If the older guy (owner) shows up then your golden but if his helpers come in you can figure on trouble. I had trouble with my sewers and after having another company screw me good and charge me like i could print money in the basement he came out and took care of it no problem since. He came back to fix a valve on another set of pipes with no problem Then I had a leak in the kitchen and he sent two kids over (maybe 20 year old) who charged me to fix a pipe and seal, guess what? Not the problem, it was the dishwasher that was leaking not the pipe. Would they refund my money or apologize? Nah. So use these guys at your own risk. Plumbing MD is better.

I can't say enough good things. I came home from lunch and found a pretty large leak from my toilet, well beyond my ability to repair. I called and spoke to Alex at 1:05 pm. At 1:55 pm he had completely fixed my toilet and I was paying him for the service. I couldn't believe how fast and thorough the repair was. Thank you again Alex for the great work

We have used Barney and Alex several times in the past couple years for 2 different homes. They are dependable and complete the jobs in an efficient and clean manner and are friendly and reasonable. I would definitely recommend them!

This was my first time using their services and I must say I was impressed. He didn't give me a definite time frame of when he would be arriving but he showed up within a half hour. He finished in under an hour and charged me a reasonable amount compared to other places I contacted.

I had a great experience working with Alex on an upstairs bathroom shower faucet leak. He was able to come quickly to assess and return the next day to fix the problem completely. He fixed what two other plumbers said wouldn't resolve the issue ( they were too busy to even do the job anyway ) AND that we needed to replace the valve behind the tiling. Alex could have said the same. Within a half hour after he left, I heard the water gurgling in the wall again and the drip reappeared.
I frustratingly thought the valve was actually shot. Alex returned quickly and after assessing the situation, agreed. We scheduled for 2 days later. The night before he arrived, we heard a loud bang from the water pipes in our master bathroom when my wife went to flush a toilet.

The next morning, right before Alex was coming to replace the valve and install a new faucet ( which he had tried to avoid for us as it seemed unnecessary ); I went to check on that toilet. It turned out the water line was not flowing in the tank into the standing tube at all. That is what caused the banging after air was trapped given the two times the main water had to be shut off. I fixed the toilet and went back into the other bathroom. I realized that the gurgling and drip had completely stopped. I called Alex to discuss, and we both agreed that the water pressure probably blew that water line off and the gurgling we were hearing was actually coming from the other bathroom through the pipes! Sure enough, quiet and no drip whatsoever!!! Alex had done great work, and it was as secure as he thought when he left the first time. The job was AFFORDABLE and he ( representing this company ) was nothing but authentic and honest throughout. I'd recommend this company to anyone needing any plumbing services. Support your local plumbers/contractors!

Alex scheduled my appointment for the next day, showed up right on time. He gave me a fair and reasonable quote (significantly cheaper than commercial plumbers), then repaired the pipe on the spot. He is the only plumber I will be using for future needs!

Barney is awesome! My rental broke a pipe on a Sunday and my tenants had to turn off the water completely. Barney went over to the house within 20 minutes and had it fixed! He's honest, fair, and extremely knowledgeable!

Hot water heater died one morning as it started to leak. Called Affordable Plumber as they were recommended by some office mates. 30 minutes after my call, they showed up and quickly diagnosed the problem. An hour later they had installed a new water heater and we were good to go. Price was good as well as I researched later on. Professional, quick, and I will use them again!

Barney is the best! I've had numerous plumbers come out over the past 5 years because of toilet clogs. They all snaked it and tried to sell me a new toilet. Barney was willing to pull up the toilet to get to the root of the problem, which was roots of trees growing up thru the pipes. He pulled about 2 feet of braided roots out of the pipes, solving our problem--for good--instead of the temporary fixes performed by other local plumbers. And...guess what? He did not try to sell me a new toilet for 5 times the price of his service. He charged me a reasonable price and solved our plumbing problem --permanently !!!! Call Barney if you need any services for water running in or out of your home--he's old-school and will give you an old school price too!
