Alex has provided consistent reliable and professional plumbing services. I would highly recommend Arch plumbing to anyone needing any type of plumbing work in the Bay Area!

The five stars are for Mo, the plumber who took about two minutes to de-clog a toilet with which I'd been doing battle (fruitlessly) for three hours.  I'd been petrified that the problem was much bigger and would prove to be much more expensive than I was able to pay.  Mo was an angel.

As for Arch Plumbing itself, I've got misgivings about how the company goes about assessing charges for jobs, and I don't know how much of the money it collects goes to its employees.  I'd like to think that Mo is appropriately well compensated for his work, but I'm not sure of that.

Had Alex A. worked on our water heater for a 12 unit building since  the past 6 months. I've used Arch going as far back as the upgrade since 2013. They've responded w/in 12 hrs. in a weekend & came w/the 2 parts needed in one swift call. This past month I've had Alex come by on 2 other 12 unit properties when the hot water went out. The recovery/repair was w/in the same day. Alfredo & Christian, ur service team is very amazing & the estimates were reasonable in today's market.  The estimates going back 10 yrs, ago, just like everything else,. Those days r over. A blessing to have u 4 all my plumbing needs.

Alex did work on our building's boiler system + hot water storage tank today. We had 3 other plumbers look at our system over the last week. 1 plumber missed the issue entirely, and the other 2 plumbers recommended repairs ranging from $7K to $30K.

Alex was the only technician who took the time to look at the system and move through issues systematically to rule out different issues. He then diagnosed a faulty valve and part, all of which were repaired the same day for $1K. He was thoughtful, professional, and honest. I cannot recommend him or this company highly enough.

Had a water heater replaced by Arch. The staff on the phone were very helpful and timely. The technicians were super friendly and respectful of the property. Their price was also significantly lower than the two other quotes I got for the same job. The whole process only took 3 days from initial inquiry, to a site visit for a quote, and then installation.

I should have written this 2 weeks ago. Thank you Arch Plumbing for sending Enrique to remove the clog from the deeper plumbing outside my apartment.  He was kind.  He listened to me. Also, he gave me very helpful information. Also, he didn't mind me watching and learning because this will happen again. In the past, my landlords would take care of things and not tell me anything.  I didn't even know how the pipes were connected (not as obvious as one would think).  He worked quickly.  I was expecting 2 or 3 hours of my life held hostage by this yucky issue, but no.  45 minutes.  He is a guy who likes his job and his company. The whole experience helped me mellow out and trust.

Absolutely excellent. Lower Nob Hill but came to replace my water heater in Oakland and did an absolutely first rate job. On time, on estimate, perfect performance w total competence. Alex is a total pro - knows his stuff and does it with excellence.

Always a class act: knowledgeable, skilled, diverse product experience, honest, and hard working.  It is hard to find honest plumbers these days in San Francisco.   When they do something, they charge reasonable prices and stand 100% behind their work.  When they aren't able to fix something they don't charge.  I have used them for my rental properties for years now and they are my top choice plumbers.

We got off to a rocky start - but these guys pulled out all the stops to make it right.  I respect that.

Tried reaching out to them on Yelp and their own website. Can't really comment on their service as I didn't a reply. Thought they were closer to the south part of the city and would be a great to help out local businesses in this area.

Unresponsive, more than an hour late for appointment.  Worker was sloppy and left a big dirty mess.

Carlos arrived on time, friendly and professional. He did such a great job installing our kitchen faucet, we sent him downstairs to get the tub drain moving again. Money well spent and I will be using them in the future!

Absolutely the best plumbers I have ever used. Competent, friendly, courteous from the first telephone call throughout the appointment. I am so delighted to have found them.

Never showed up to the appointment, never called, haven't responded to text messages. Wasted a day.

I scheduled with Arch (Alfredo) by email to service a boiler in a tenant occupied building. I confirmed by email the night before. They completely blew it off. The work site is 30 mins from where I live, so this unreliability was a waste of time - and I then needed to find another boiler repair. I'm only glad it was t an emergency. I've used arch in the past but I'D AVOID ARCH PLUMBING BECAUSE THEY'RE UNRELIABLE.

Expensive emergency after-hours work cost extra $200. But they sent a very competent bilingual plumber who did a difficult job well.

We needed a wall-mount faucet installed to replace an original fixture.  Two other plumbers had walked away and said wait to you renovate kitchen.   But we aren't going to renovate the kitchen for a while and we needed it replaced now.  Carlos did it!!  They also replaced our gas meter shut-off valve with an earthquake-sensitive unit.  

I would definitely use Arch Plumbing again. Quick to respond, well-priced, nice guys, good work.  A Plus!

I had a very positive experience with Arch Plumbing, who we hired to fix a running toilet issue.  Good service, reasonable prices, and excellent communications.  

The owner, Alfredo, responded promptly to my request for a quote on Yelp and was very easy to communicate and coordinate with via both text and Yelp messaging.  

Arch was able to send a technician out the day after I reached out.  The technician - who was named Christian - arrived on time, was good to work with, and replaced the flapper and handle on the toilet.

Arch is tech-savvy, and provided automated text updates noting when the technician was on his way and when the job was complete.  I also received a bill via email after the appointment which was easy to pay online.

Additionally, when I had a question about my bill, Alfredo responded quickly and professionally.  

Overall, I am quite pleased with Arch Plumbing and would hire them again!

I want to post an updated review for Arch. Again, we were in need of their services. They were professional, prompt, the technician was helpful, and the job was done quickly and well. Arch Plumbing never lets me down.

Want to share my experience with Arch plumbing so others are aware. I share a condo with one other unit and my neighbors started to notice a gas smell in their garage and reached out to Arch Plumbing to see if they could help identify the leak. We were unfortunately out of town so our neighbors handled the issue. Totally aware my neighbors should of called PG&E but instead they let Arch Plumbing handle the issue. They inspected the garage, found the leak, and replaced one 3/4 gas nipple and cap and charged us $525. Please see before and after photos; it was a simple replacement that PG&E would have replaced for free or way less than $525. While I understand labor cost, the garage space was relatively small and leak was in a easily reachable part of the garage; in addition, it was a minor pipe and cap replacement. I saw the bill afterwards and called Arch Plumbing to get an explanation. It took them a few days to get back to me and I had to follow up a few times. Christian told me, they replaced a few nipples and a cracked cap. This simple replacement would have been free/ much cheaper if my neighbors had called PG&E. We were definitely over charged. The truth is, they are a plumbing company and the right thing to do would have been to have my neighbors call PG&E.

I had a leaky toilet in June 202. I just noticed I did not finish my review so I am completing it now. Christian from Arch Plumbing came out in the morning. He was 30 minutes late. I expressed my concern that the bolt on the side of the flange was loose. He assured me that it wasn't a problem. He did try to tighten it though. He put the wax ring in the toilet on then when he was tightening the toilet down, that bolt came loose, and he was just going to replace it again. At this point he had taken the toilet off and put it back on 4 or 5 times and I stated I was not comfortable with him proceeding. He did not charge me which seemed like the least he could do.

Later that day after contacting another company, I figured out I had an old lead attachment to the flange which meant I needed a new herco bend (pipe under the toilet that has a 90 degree bend in it). The Arch plumbing manager called me back and had come to this same conclusion. I wish Christian could have diagnosed the problem correctly in the first place. It left me scrambling to find and schedule another plumber the day before I was to have major surgery. Christian tried to blame the whole situation on me. After asking him to stop he said, it was my fault that I would not let him do his work. Initially the manager also said this all was my fault. All I can say is that I am glad I watched and expressed my concern otherwise I would have to deal with replacing the herco bend during my recovery from surgery and getting my money back from Arch which probably would have been a nightmare.

Maybe they are good at really simple things. I am not sure. I guess Christian had never seen an old lead attachment to a flange. That is the only way I can explain why he did not diagnose it correctly. But it doesn't take an expert to know if the flange is mobile replacing the wax ring will not fix the problem. I found Arch Plumbing to be unknowledgeable, unprofessional, blaming, and condescending. At least they did not charge me. I do not recommend this company.

Alfredo the owner is a nice guy worked with me on a problem. A fair resolution has been reached.

I had another plumbing problem that caused me to reach out to Arch Plumbing earlier this month.  Sadly I can no longer recommend this business due to the following.  (I will try to keep the story short since I assume a lot of the extraneous details wouldn't be helpful.)

a. Plumber was late for initial visit.  I was given a two hour window and someone called near the end of that window to state the plumber was finishing a job and would be at my place soon.  The delay wasn't extremely long, but it got worse when other people from Arch Plumbing were scheduled to come out the following day to do the job that couldn't be done in the moment.  They were supposed to arrive between 8 and 10 am for a job that would take all day.  I got a call around 11 am saying they were finishing up a job and would be at my place in the afternoon.  I told them that if the job truly was an all day affair to reschedule for the following day since I didn't want them working in my place until 8 or 9 at night.

b. I will take at face value the need to cut into my wall to clear the clogged drains.  The price seemed high to me but when you have no sink to use, you agree to things without thinking clearly.  Since I had wanted my bathroom vanity replaced anyway, I asked if it would make the job easier if I had them do that at the same time -- sort of a mini-bathroom remodel.  The plumber said yes and that would increase the cost from just under $2,000 to just under $3,000.  This is where things really went south.  Because they needed to install whatever vanity was available for immediate pick-up, I was talked into accepting something much smaller than what was being replaced.  Instead of informing me what issues might be present when replacing a larger vanity with a smaller one (the biggest being an unfinished floor under the vanity), the person managing this job simply said he was offering me the perfect solution.  He also lied about the construction of the vanity, telling me it was a granite surface when, in fact, it is solid surface.

c. Apparently Arch Plumbing thinks a job of this sort that began as a plumbing request but turned into a mini remodel is okay to leave unfinished.  The walls surrounding the vanity look horrible due to the removal of the previous backsplash with no repair to the wall (sanding, filling holes, repainting).  The person managing this project returned the day after the vanity was installed to take photos so he could have his person give me an estimate for the job.  If you were having a vanity replaced, wouldn't you think that having a decent looking sink would be part of that job?  As of a week later, I still haven't received a call or text from anyone to give me a quote.  I should also mention that there is no back or side splash.  I get that they are not in stock, but for a project like this I would expect those to be part of the project and that someone would come out at a later date to install them.  At this point, I'll probably just see if I can do it myself or hire someone else to actually finish the job since installing a backsplash isn't difficult.  

If you have a basic plumbing issue and can tolerate people not showing up on time, then maybe Arch Plumbing is worth considering.  I feel like a fool for agreeing to allow them to replace my vanity, though, a decision I made mostly because I just wanted my sinks to work again and to replace the old vanity that had a chipped sink and countertop anyway.  I will take responsibility for agreeing to a replacement vanity that I should have just rejected (how I wish I just spent $1,000 less and had them cut a hole in the back of the old one), but I am angry that I was lied to about the new vanity materials and the overall poor finishing of the job.  If they didn't promote themselves as doing bathroom remodels and were just a plumbing company, I would fault myself for hiring the wrong company to do the job.  But they do claim to do remodels and, according to their website, are punctual and able to transform a bathroom into a spa-like oasis in as little as a day.  Well, they did take most of an entire day to replace a vanity but what they left behind is far from an oasis.  While my sink works, what they left behind looks much worse than a vanity with a small chip and a sink with hairline cracks.

Excellent service and responsive at a good price. The guys quickly replaced some difficult pipe sections and sealed my stucco effectively. Highly recommend.

If you are a project manager/management company and/or have a large amount of money invested in your home I do not recommend joining forcing with this crew. I work comfortably with many plumbing companies whom I can trust with multi-million dollar assets which makes my life 10x easier.

I can't tell you how many times I've spoken to the owner Alfredo about 1. Work that was done unauthorized 2. Work that was not completed 3. Work that was not thoroughly thought out so they could not distinguish any given issue up or down. 4. Their employees who do not take ownership of email threads with specific guidance to interprets to technicians (I've had to read my share of email out loud to remind them of what was said). All in all, major drain (no pun intended).

I felt compelled to make this review, specifically because of a summary I needed for an entire building but they sent me one for 1 home....not the building. Save yourself the hassle if your work ethic is superior. They're still learning. Find yourself a pro! & if you're in need, I'll gladly recommend an alternative.

Water heater broke over the weekend, home has 3 children under the age of  7 living at the property - even though they couldn't make it until Monday they offered to keep the appointment slot open whilst I looked for another plumber .

On time, reasonable cost and great, great communication . Going to be my first port of call for any plumbing issues going forward

I had an old style toilet supply valve that failed and didn't shut off the water any longer.

I called up a few plumbing companies and ultimately ended up choosing Arch Plumbing due to their professional service and competitive rates.

I coordinated with Martin who was very helpful throughout the entire process. He handled all the logistics of coordinating with our building operations to make sure all the documentation was in place.

Jorge showed up on time and completed the repairs in less than 30 minutes and was completely professional the entire time and easy to talk to/work with.

Arch Plumbing was incredibly helpful in replacing a toilet in our retail store. We reached out to several vendors to help replace a finicky, residential rated, fancy Italian toilet that was in our commercial space and kept breaking, and no other vendor could help us find a solution. Denis was very prompt in responding to all of our questions. He was even patient with my company as the proposal for the work went through various channels of approval within the company. The work was completed and the store team is happy. I would definitely recommend Arch Plumbing in the future!!

We were so lucky to find Arch plumbing to fix our radiant heating system. We were on a time crunch to get it fixed due to moving. Denis and Alfredo were able to squeeze us in ASAP. The whole team was very professional and friendly. We really appreciate the hard  work they did to repair this complicated heating system. Would definitely recommend Arch Plumbing in the future!

George or Jorge came to replace two cracked porcelain sinks for using November 11, 2019. It took him a couple of hours as he was working really hard and very focused on the job. They were great at communicating and showed up and they said they would. Prices were reasonable.

Alfredo and his team were very professional and did a very clean job with my radiant heating leak.  They used a thermo scanner to find the exact point in the cement where the leak was which allowed them to make a hole exactly where the repair needed to happen vs. where it looks like the leak is.  Repair and filling the hole was by two different team members on two different visits and both were very professional wearing covers on their shoes and wearing masks.  Cost came out much lower than we expected!!  Recommending Arch Plumbing to the other units in our building!  Thank you Arch Plumbing team on a great experience and great customer service!!

I had been waiting to fix a few leaks and plumbing problems in my house for a long time, kind of like kicking the can down the road. But it has come to the point that these problems could not wait any longer. Thus, I called Arch Plumbing from a referral from a friend.

I schedule an appointment and they came the following day and fixed all the problems efficiently and without making a mess.

I appreciate the job well done.

Arch is my go-to plumber now that I've been having issues quite frequently st the office. They answer calls right away and do their best to get to Yoruba's quickly as possible. The last few times they are able to come within 1-2 hours, which is fantastic. Christian and Jorge are both quick, efficient, and great at explaining what the issue(s) could be. Price is great and they don't try to shove other services down your throat.

I did not use Arch, but they were very friendly and responsive. I would use them in the future. I had a situation I needed to have resolved and was able to get it done quicker than they were able.  However, they were great to deal with.

We contacted Arch through Yelp and they responded immediately.  Our drain was clogged and the garbage disposal broke.  Jorge came by and fixed both the drain and replaced the garbage disposal, with minimal disturbance to our schedule.  He was very communicative, well informed, and was always looking out for the customer's needs and finances.  

We are extremely impressed by Arch (and Jorge), and will definitely use them again in the future.  Highly recommended!

My bathroom faucet was leaking and need to fixed or replaced.  I contacted Arch plumbing and they got back to me quickly.  I decided that I wanted to replace my faucet instead and they said no problem.  They gave a the estimate and I decided to go with them. They were able to fit me in the next day.  Christian arrive early and was able to get the new faucet installed quickly.  I will definitely be calling them again if I need plumbing work.

We needed a water line put in for our new fridge. They quoted us 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Nothing was unusual about this job, but we were billed for 3 hours of work! The person who came out was friendly but there is no way they should have charged us $641.70 for a basic water line including 3 hours of work. Hoping I can get an updated bill and amend my original review.

Scheduling was incredibly simple, fast, and very flexible.  Christian arrived a few minutes early which is amazing and was done with both repairs in less than 15minutes.

My thanks to Arch Plumbing for installation of a new hot water heater.  Jorge was quick to identify the problem. Employees , doing the work were very professional, while being friendly, great work ethics, polite, wearing masks and gloves. Cleaned up the water that spilled out of the water heater when they took it out. Also cleaning up the work areas'. Dennis, in the front office, was very helpful and supportive, answering all the inquiries myself and my son had and they were quite a few.  Thanks

I contacted this company to clear a clogged toilet and do a thorough inspection. Their worker arrived at the agreed time.  He looked, we talked and I agreed to him emailing me an estimate. Then nothing.  I replied on Yelp, I emailed them, I called them on the phone. . . no follow up.  My toilet will be fixed but not by this company. Bad, Bad customer service.

Awesome service. Quick response, pleasant and kind on the phone, and the plumber Jorge who came to fix my clogged sink was super nice and helpful. Highly recommended. I know now where to go and who to recommend for good work and professionalism.

This company is awwwwesome!!!!  :-) I can't say enough good things about them.  My toilet kept running, and I was freaking out.  It wasn't overflowing, but water kept draining down the pipe/hose and getting wasted.  The entire experience with Arch couldn't have been better, and I will be recommending them to everyone in my building and anyone in San Francisco!  They responded super fast (the 1st to respond) to my request for a quote on Yelp, and Alejandra also followed up with a phone call.  We scheduled a free estimate, and George came to my apartment to take a look at my toilet.  Alejandra even called to let me know when he was on his way.  He was so friendly, professional, knew exactly what the problem was and explained everything.  Since my place is 10 years old, the toilet components were deteriorating and needed to be changed: angle stop, flapper, and float valve.  George provided competitive pricing, and I felt comfortable with him and trusted him.  So I selected Arch after getting about 8 quotes.  The water needed to be shut off in my building, in order to switch out the angle stop.  So we scheduled a day/time, and Christian ended up coming to do the work because George was sick.  Christian was just as great as George!! :-) He arrived early and worked with my maintenance guys to do the drain down.  While that was happening, he changed the flapper and was very efficient. The whole process only took about 40 minutes which blew my mind.  Everyone else quoted 2 hours.  Christian was very polite, respectful, nice to talk to, took off his shoes before coming in, had all the parts and tools ready to go, made good use of time, and wiped/cleaned everything when he was done.  My bunny wasn't even scared of him which means he has good energy lol.  I am so relieved my toilet is back to normal and couldn't be happier with Arch's service!!!  They're so communicative, organized, friendly and thorough.  The price was reasonable, and payment was easy online.  Wish I could give them 10 stars!   THANK YOU CHRISTIAN, GEORGE AND ALEJANDRA!!!!!  You guys are my heroes ;-) Hugs

I feel we are very easy people to work with, show up when you say you are, tell us how much it is, and do what you say you are going to do, we pay you what we discussed.  Then why is this so hard to find other people like this?  I am so happy to say they are here and then some at Arch Plumbing.  After many years of frustrating results with contractors I am so relieved to find Arch.  They were so very nice, so professional, so courtesy and beyond thorough and effective !  They turned a seemingly difficult plumbing situation into a time and cost effective success.  I cannot recommend these guys enough.

Half the battle is finding a contractor who comes on time.  These guys were a couple minutes early, easy to work with and walked me through every step of the process.  My shower was leaking into the unit below me, apparently a common problem in SF.  They made sure I was comfortable with what they were doing and didn't try to overcharge me.  They worked efficiently and respectfully.  I couldn't ask for anything more than this as they definitely live up to all the 5 star reviews here.  Thanks Arch! I'll be recommending you guys to everyone!

As general contractors for over 30 years, Arch Plumbing has become our exclusive sub-contractor for all phases of plumbing work for the past several years.   We highly recommend them for any plumbing job, big or small.  We are general contractors in San Francisco and deal with remodel and additions; most of our jobs are large in nature since residential units and single family homes in SF can be old and in need of complete remodel work.  This work is not for the faint of heart and dealing with the City of County Building Dept. permitting process can be daunting unless you have experience.  This company has all that and more.  They are efficient, courteous, competitive, thorough and proficient at their job.  They are also very well versed on new and energy efficient products that can help with conservation and costs.  For all these reasons we give them a 5 star rating.  As good as it gets!

Its been over a year ago & the boiler system they've installed for me is still going strong. I discovered them by accident. They were introduced to me by recovering an unfinished installation by the original contractor which left us without hot water for over 2 days. As a manager of this 12+ unit it was crucial. They were able to get the system up within the hour & follow up the next day to complete the installation, done it with precise knowledge & time of completion. I've hired my share of contractors in my 40 years in this business & can distinguish expertise verses just fumbling around hours on the job. These are not amateurs. You may at first be skeptical of the language barrier but their knowledge goes beyond language & good old fashion hard work. Being impressive of this outstanding job, I hired them again immediately on replacing another old iron tanked boiler system in an old SF building. Great teamwork when the majority of the difficulty was tearing the old system down in a confined space. The energy savings & reliability on this new system was dramatic. Their estimates are competitive & meets with their level of skill. The nickel & dime is not worth it when a job goes astray & is followed with headaches.  They've earned any of my major plumbing needs in the coming years. Undoubtedly 5 stars & wish them all with continuing years of success.
