Can't recommend Tony enough. He is responsive, definitely knows his stuff, and communicates well. We had a rather complex project that involved upgrading the main panel an installing an outdoor sauna and an EV charger with permits. He answered all our questions and was a pleasure to work with. I'll definitely be contacting him again for future work.

Tony is awesome! Professional, patient, knowledgeable, honest and kind! I found him after searching Yelp for an electrician to walk us through installing a back up generator for our house. With wildfire season, rolling blackouts and two young kids, we wanted the piece of mind of a back up generator in the event of an outage.

Tony picked up when I called and set up a free consultation within a few days. He then completed the work after we purchased a generator and was super helpful answering all my questions (I didn't know anything about generators so I had a million questions).

He was kind enough to unbox and set up our generator and also let me film a video of him walking me through how to set it up during a black out! Seriously, he went above a beyond.
Highly recommend Tony as an electrician and he'll be our go-to person for any future electrical work!

Tony was amazing and available last minute to come out to my home. I was crazy worried that I had a fire hazard with lights flickering and the panel buzzing. He came out and diagnosed the issue to be PG&E's. PG&E came out within an hour and fixed their line.

For the one negative review - I think learning how to change lights is an asking skill to have and I'm so sorry you had so much trouble. I wish I knew Tony when I was replacing all of my electrical because with enough guidance, I think I could have done much of the job myself.

I needed a breaker replaced in my main panel. Called Tony in the evening and he came out the next morning and replaced it right away. Quick and easy. Would definitely recommend him for any electrical needs.

Tony at AMG electric came over for a job this morning and did a great job. He was very friendly (both in-person and over the phone) and was able to schedule an appointment quickly. He arrived right on time, got to work, had the replacement parts available in his van, and was able to get all the work done very quickly. Prices were very reasonable for someone trustworthy and reliable. I'll be going back to AMG Electric the next time I need an electrician.

AMG is actually just a guy named Tony, which seems important to point out, as there is no-one to follow up with if you have a bizarre experience like I did. I called AMG/Tony asking for electrical outlets and light switches to be installed in an upstairs bedroom that was recently remodeled. He told me that I should just watch YouTube videos and do it myself and that this would be much cheaper. I left the call thinking maybe I was pretty dumb, like I had just asked someone to come over and change my lightbulbs, so got to work watching YouTube and trying to figure out how to install lights and outlets. I called Tony back, as he said he would be willing to consult for $150/hr and asked if he could come help me. He did come to my house and teach me how to do switch installation and check my work on my outlets. He did this twice, staying for a few hours at a time and then leaving and scheduling to come back a week later. This means that two days of work stretched out over three weeks, when he then tried to reschedule a Monday appointment for Friday on Thursday because he'd had a funeral on Wednesday.... He then accused me of being unsympathetic when I said I was working and couldn't be available for his consultations. I went with someone else after that. In retelling the story to others, including other electricians, it sounds so bizarre it doesn't even seem like it could be true, but I have the texts. I was just being jerked around.

So happy to have discovered this local small business right here on Yelp.  The owner, Tony, has responded on three separate occasions now on an urgent basis.  He is knowledgeable, reasonably priced, super responsive and personable as well. Highly recommended!

Tony Granelli is a great electrician and a very organized and kind person. He replaced our main electrical panel four months ago when we bought a house in Richmond. When I texted him with a question months later about our wiring in the attic (bc we're about to insulate attic), he immediately responded with all the information I needed to proceed with my attic insulation project. Whenever we have an electrical issue or renovation in the future, I will definitely call Tony again. So far, the new electrical panel and bathroom fan he installed have worked perfectly. He was very efficient when he did the work, and his price was the most economical quote we received.

I am so glad that we found Tony. Electricity in several rooms suddenly died. He came out to our house the same day that we called him and spent two hours looking for the issue. He came back a couple days later, and fixed it. He also fixed an issue with a ceiling fan. His price was beyond fair and he was great to work with. We wouldn't hesitate to use him for future projects and will definitely recommend him to others.

What a great experience with an electrician.  I had called, frantic about a fairly advanced, dangerous situation and Tony came out and fix it FOR FREE.  I had to have him perform other electrical work at the house so I could at least pay him something for his kindness.  What a great guy!

Had an electrical issue in our pool shed, and gave Tony a call.  He was incredibly responsive, and since he's local in Martinez was able to drop by on very short notice.  Tony was able to troubleshoot a few potential issues.

I had Tony out to scope out my new home. He informed me of what I was working with, what potential issues I may have, what simply wasn't a concern, and how to efficiently go about it all without any salesmanship. He rewired my garage (new outlets, lighting, etc.), some exterior circuits, and added some GFCIs inside. All was done very well, would certainly recommend!

Tony the owner was so easy to talk to. He was straight to the point and professional. He was so efficient and asked me to take a picture of the panel prior to him working on our circuit breaker. He is not out there to get you for your money, unlike other electricians. He is knowledgeable, friendly, fast quality work and leaves the area clean upon completion of his work. Quick turnaround time from quote to install of a new 200a main. Super easy to work with and a really thorough job! I'd definitely call them again for other electrical needs. Only downside is I couldn't pay with a credit card and didn't know until afterwards. Lots of missed points on that one! haha. But overall excellent company. Thanks Tony

Tony was in the area when I called him to set up a time to install a light fixture.  He was at my house in 20 minutes and the work was done in 15 minutes! Very reasonable price, so knowledgeable and professional.  I highly recommend!

Tony serviced, on the same day, a smoking outlet in an older home with knob and tube wiring and I was distressed because nothing on the circuit was working. I feared an extensive problem that may require drastic action, like opening up walls. His calm and professional demeanor was reassuring right off the bat. He got in the crawlspace, found the short and efficiently fixed everything. He answered my various electric questions in a patient and friendly manner. Excellent and knowledgeable service and I recommend him very highly.

Tony upgraded my main panel, ran the electrical for my new hot tub, and will come back to hook up the electrical to the hot tub when it arrives. He is also going to install a some outlets in my backyard when he comes back for the hot tub.  
Tony was responsive, professional, knowledgeable and chill to chat with throughout the week. The conduit work he did in my garage was clean and, in a way, was like its own art form. He also was extremely helpful with questions I had that came up throughout the project.
His prices were very fair for the amount of work I had to get done. Although it was not the lowest estimate I received while looking for an electrician for this job, I felt like he was the easiest to communicate with and was someone I could trust. I also liked the ideas he had for how to complete this job.

Is there a button for 10 Stars? Well, there should be for AMG Electric. We contacted 5 electricians but only 2 came to our home to look at the job. We dismissed one and hired Tony because it was clear from the start that he is: professional, tenacious (in dealing with Alameda red tape!), up to date on the latest equiment and permiting process for our city, always on time and, communicates really clearly on what needs to be done and in what order to complete the job! He upgraded the main panel on our older home, ran new wires under a huge patio area into our bonus room, then into a tool shop where he and Dan installed a fast charger for our electric vehicle. He was able to obtain the permits and coordinate PG&E, AMP, the City Inspector and 811 without a hiccup. That takes personality and talent! So, AMG may not be the least expensive, but you get what you pay for, and Tony is The Best! We look forward to working with AMG again in the future.

My range just suddenly  stopped while cooking.  Appliance tech did not register 240 volts on test, and recommended to get the electrical circuit checked.  Yelp Service request was sent on Fri night, Tony responded in a very timely manner and made an appointment for Sunday.  I provided pictures of  the problem areas.  Tony arrived on time wearing a mask  (thank you!).  He  was very polite, and quickly fixed the electrical issue.  I am pleased with the work.  Thank you!

Its great to have a local friendly electrician, he was quick to show up at scheduled time. Covid safe and did a great job. Professional, fast, and cleaned up after himself. I don't know how he could have done a better job.
