Towery Electric

Towery Electric wasn't the first electrician I called but they will from now on be the only one I call! My wife and I had just bought a Tesla and wanted to install a fast charger in our garage. Some of our neighbors had fast chargers installed and they paid as much as $1,700 for the installation alone! I called around and was consistently quoted over $1K and was even quoted a starting price of $1,200 from one of the most well known companies in the area that specialize in this.

Towery Electric was the only company that I called that gave me an honest assessment about how much it might cost to have the charger installed. They told me that the cost could depend on several factors (distance to the panel, quality of the panel and breakers, etc.). And at the end of the call, they told me that based on my situation and set up, that it would probably be best to be charged by the hour ($150/hour) and that it would probably be a 3-4 hour job.

After finally receiving the charger in the mail, I called Towery to make the appointment. They called me back right away and I was set up with an appointment the next morning! The electrician they sent came right on time, and after just a little over 3 hours, they were done! Total cost was just under $600 which included material costs! The installation was super clean, looks professional and cost half as much as most of the quotes I had gotten from other companies! Definitely a recommend from me!

Amazing!  he took my cold call, asked a few question, suggested a quick solution and it worked!  I was expecting to have to make an appointment, wait a few days with a crucial kitchen circuit out of service, etc. but instead he helped me fix my problem over the phone, no charge!  Towery is my electrician from now on!

I needed two replacement ceiling fans installed and Towery Electric took excellent care of me! The office was attentive and accommodating to my schedule and the techs were polite, efficient and did a great job. I would definitely recommend them!

Alex and his team did a great job bringing my 1928 era house up to code. They removed all the old knob and tube wiring, replaced with modern wiring and installed new outlets, light switches, and light fixtures throughout the house.

They were always on time, excellent to communicate with, and took great care to cover flooring and counters to prevent damage and always cleaned up at the end of every day.

I would hire them again with no hesitation and recommend working with them to anyone looking for having professional, high quality electrical work done.

We've had a lot of vendors in our house over the past year and Victor and Nico were by far some of the most professional.  Not only did they arrive at the scheduled time (so rare these days) but they did a really great and through job throughout the whole project (run wiring for ceiling pendants/wall sconces, rerouting electrical for switches, etc).  Victor was very communicative about what he was doing.  It's clear he takes pride in his work and it shows in his attention to detail.  Safety is clearly paramount and it shows.  Highly recommend this team!

David came on time wearing a mask and we gave him instructions on what we needed done. It was complex; it included exterior lighting and solar light meter and connect two outside nest cameras in a difficult location. He did it all perfectly he even went above and beyond taking pictures of the QR codes expediting the camera connection. He is polite personable and diligent. And we are thrilled with the results!

Victor arrived on time. We had a few electrical issues to troubleshoot. He was knowledgeable and had a great attitude, and spent time explaining what was going on. He found and fixed the known problems. He also discovered an unknown somewhat bigger problem with our main panel. He went to get some parts and fixed it the same day. Overall, I'm very happy with the experience.

Over the past 6 months since moving into my house, I've had many contractors perform sub-par work or drop the ball and leave me hanging.  Alex and his team have been a breath of fresh air - always communicative, responsive, and deliver on time, on budget, and per the contract.  In particular I appreciate the last-minute rush service when Alex' team would come by for consultations with other contractors during more complex projects, and for an expert opinion during a condo sale.

Alex isn't the cheapest game in town, and far from the most expensive - what you get is a fair value, expertise, and good communication.  Well worth it and much appreciated.

I hired Alex for a job at the recommendation of my contractor during a small remodel.  As many jobs go, the scope increased and Alex agreed to all of the work providing detailed estimates.  However, when Alex sent invoices they were opaque to what  part of the estimate they covered, and only after sometimes multiple requests was there additional detail provided so it was clear what was considered completed and paid for and what was not.

Part of the job involved putting in a new ground for new electrical and somehow his guys managed to hit our water main (from the street) twice.  After they hit it the first time, I showed them where the pipe ran underground...  and somehow they still managed to hit it again 10 feet away on their second attempt.  Alex took care of the situation as rapidly as he could, but we went a couple of days without water, which was a challenge during Covid homeschooling and working and required us to get a hotel room for a day.

The last project Alex agreed to do for us was update the electrical panel on our house.  This is a long process with PGE starting with an application and then waiting until PGE is ready.  I asked Alex for a timeline a few times and was repeatedly told there was nothing he could do.  7 months after Alex submitted the original request with PGE, he informed us he could not do the job and offered to help transfer it to someone else.  At that point, I called PGE to see what happened and it turns out the application was cancelled 5 months ago due to non-response from Alex.  So after waiting 7 months we will be starting the process over and will have an idle air conditioner we cannot hook up for the summer months due to his lack of understanding of the process or his lack of care of us as customers.

Bottom line - aside from hitting the water main TWICE (seriously - less likely than hitting the lottery), the work Alex's guys did was good work technically and aesthetically.  His team was responsive and courteous.  Alex's responsiveness was hit and miss, and his reliability was poor.

Recently I've had to replace a circuit breaker to meet the standards of the condominium complex board where I live.
Alex came recommended by the board and my entire experience as fantastic.
Alex was very clear in explaining what needs to be done, how and the process it's going to be executed.
He followed up, delivered and was very attentive thoroughly the entire process.
His person, Victor showed up on time at the date agreed, kept everything very clean and did a fantastic job!
We are very happy we chose to work with Alex and would highly recommend him plus hire him again.

Absolutely fantastic!  Alex was there on time got the job done perfectly and called back to follow up and make sure everything was done correctly and I had no concerns.  Best service I've received in my twenty three years in Marin County.  I will be using them exclusively for any electrical issues I have from here on in.

Victor of Towery Electric is a flexible, creative, careful electrician. He showed me how to wire a combination set of lights and fan into a tight space in a bathroom ceiling. Then he showed me how to wire an 18' string of low-voltage LEDs into a valence in a studio.  He was clear about his methods and always operated safely and with good humor. A great experience.

My contractor hired Towery Electric when they built our deck in San Francisco. Alex came to our home and met with our contractor and me. He asked great questions about how we'd be using the space to determine the best locations for outlets, lights, and switches. His crew was very professional and did an excellent job. They also passed the city inspection on the first visit - which is quite the feat with the multiple inspectors and ever-changing requirements that SF has. Almost a year later, we had one GFCI outlet that stopped working. Alex was quick to respond and troubleshot the issue. He then sent one of his electricians out the next day to replace it - proving that he stands by his work. We're very happy with Towery Electric and will definitely hire them again.

I called Towery Electric with a problem with the thermostat for the heater in my master bathroom. It has a bad sensor that is imbedded in the tile floor. To repair it I would have to have the tile floor removed and hope that the heating element under the tile does not get damaged. Alex gave me a call and over the phone suggested that I could change the thermostat from the sensor to ambient mode. Meaning the thermostat is now reading the air temperature and not the floor temp. It worked saving hundreds of dollars if not thousands. Thanks Alex for being so honest. I will certainly call you again. Towery Electric was not the first company I called but they were the first to make that suggestion. Thanks!

As a real estate agent, I have worked with a number of electricians in  Marin. Alex is straight forward and stays informed about the work. Very easy to work with and prompt in communication, which is very important to me. He sent two people to install a transfer switch for a generator. They explained what they were doing and were courteous and efficient. I never had the impression, as with other companies, that they were trying to sell me products that were secondary to this job. I have found a good one!

My first experience with Alex & all I can say is it was a 12 on a 10 scale. He returned my call immediately & had a quick, correct assessment of my electrical woes. Not only that, he had staff out to take care of my problem that day. Nice to have top-notch professional electrical help available when needed. Towery will now always be my electrical source.

We recently remodeled our kitchen and decided to upgrade our electrical panel since it was the type that are known to catch fire. Alex was fantastic! He gave us a quote and installed a new service line from the main electrical box all the way to the new sub panel in our townhome. I'm so happy we had this done and the piece of mind that our house isn't at risk of catching fire. All work was very well done and clean and the City Inspector came by looked at all the work and signed off on the rough electrical without a hitch!

We moved into Contempo Marin, a manufactured home community (ok, mobile home park) to downsize our lives. We didn't know that it would UPSIZE our regulatory burden when trying to make any changes to the house. We wanted to move to EV cars and put solar panels on the roof which required electrical upgrades This began an epic journey with the city, state, HUD, PGE and Alex. He's been hanging in there with patience and humor.  Add to that he is a total EV nerd and has been curious about every step along the way and it made an unpleasant situation much more bearable.

We love Towery Electric!  Alex and his crew are top notch. I don't post many reviews, however Towery was awesome. Very responsive, easy to deal with and everything was smooth beginning to end. They installed a chandelier, a new ceiling fan and a new outlet the kitchen. All was handled in a bit less time than estimated all while my 4 yr. old daughter kept bothering. An A+ option considering they both also had young kids : ) Highly recommended.

Towery Electric arrived on time which I appreciated. Alex, the owner, figured out what needed to be done and didn't stop working for a minute. He is personable, honest and very reasonably priced. He fixed everything and cleaned up afterwards. I highly recommend them.
