American Leak Detection of Orange County

Had irrigation main line water leak.  Mason came out and pinpointed to 80% where the leak was under the concrete pad at the back of our commercial building. Complicated pipes with sleeve located inside of pipe so not straightforward issue. We also wanted camera put down to get to 99% certainty as concrete curb had to be dug up. Had a snafu on communication with main office as to scheduling part, but it was handled immediately by Nate and Mason came back out that afternoon, stayed a bit later and got the job finished. Mason was very professional, showed up on time, courteous and great with communication before and after the job started, and went above and beyond to get my job handled.

do NOT use these guys. Guaranteed a leak detection, said they were 100% sure the leak was in the slab of living room.

Drilled into the slab and not a drop of water. Blamed it on a cover, only to find out that cover was not there either.

Called the owner for a refund, still didn't get it. Now they won't return my call.

Now have to pay $1000 to fix my floor and slab because of their incompetence.

We hired American Leak to locate manifolds and trace water lines for a job we were doing.  Bobby from American Leak called us prior to arrival, arrived when he was suppose to and did an excellent job locating and confirming his detection. I've had nothing but good experiences with both this location and the other one in Covina. Thank you  guys!

After noticing a small leak on my carpet I called a leak detection company and they insisted that my leak was from my sewer pipe under the concrete slab. They were going to jackhammer my slab to get to the alleged leak. They quoted me $4,000.00 to do the repair! Thankfully I called American Leak Detection. Manuel came out to my home and found that my leak was from my shower valve and not from the sewer pipe in the slab. The men wore masks and boot covers. My leak was detected and repaired at a total cost of only $425.00! They did a great job of clean up! I have been in property management for over 40 years so it takes a lot to impress me. I would not hesitate to use them again and I highly recommend them! 5 STARS!!

Nate Goldberg was are contractor and he was great. Very polite and efficient got the leak detected within 30min. Was very professional and recommended a company to help fix are issue. Customer service got me a inspection appointment within in 12 hours of my phone call and guaranteed me that the have a lot of experience and will find the leak and they didn't disappoint.

Jim from American Leak Detection came to our home this morning and diagnosed our problem immediately.  He was so professional and courteous and I highly recommend their company to anyone who has a suspicious water problem.

If I could give ten stars I would! Steve and his apprentice Joseph provided superior service and attention to detail. First visit was two hours of troubleshooting for a water leak at my home. Nothing visible inside or outside, so they checked every possible area.  Found the leak source inside near my laundry room. Second visit was six hours to perform the repair work including verifying the leak location and advising me of options. Initial plan was to reroute the water line; however, Steve found a better alternative and explained the new plan. It was less invasive and simpler. They were extra careful to cover my floors and nearby fixtures and cleaned up thoroughly when it was all done. Overall, it was superior service and a very satisfactory outcome.  Highly are recommended.

I had a large leak under the concrete in my pool yard which was difficult to pinpoint due to its size.  Initially, a pool tech (James) ruled-out a leak in the pool plumbing and referred me to the irrigation division.  Mason diligently worked to find the leak, eventually giving me options for further detection attempts.  His supervisor, Glenn, joined in the fun and they were able to locate the leak and repair it.  From my first contact with the company (Thomas) to the techs and supervisor, I have be impressed with  their friendly and prompt customer service.  Each tech gave me their card and encouraged me to contact them with any questions.  I don't understand the previous poor ratings.  I will recommend them to anyone looking for this type of service.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! This is a franchise with one person working for them. First clue was they charged $335 just to see the leak. He detected a tiny leak in the sprinkler line and repaired it for $2,000 and determined this was the cause for all the water damage in the kitchen and family room. He failed to detected the water leak under the kitchen sink a few feet away. A few days later they had the nerve to charge me $335 for ME pointing out water was coming from under the kitchen. He claimed it was a slab leak and it wasn't. I called Evans and he fixed the leak. Evans is running a pipe across the entire attic and rerouting the water into the garage plumbing for the water into the pool. Evans would have charged me a total of $2,945 for ALL of this including the sprinkler line fix. I incurred more water damage to my kitchen and family room because this Company did not bother to find both leaks from the very beginning and I paid $2,000 additionally. Incompetent and a total Rip-OFF in my opinion.

These guys were great. They were recommended to me by the pool company that installed all my new filter equipment. He indicated ALD was the company he always used. The first technician came and after a hour of searching, he detected the exact spot where the pool line was leaking under the cement deck. I called later that day and scheduled the repair for 2 weeks later. This morning Mike and his associate showed up promptly on time and worked for 4 hours digging up the pool slab, replacing a broken elbow and refilling the hole. Once completed, they filled in the hole with fresh new concrete and the repair looks awesome, only barely noticeable. Would I rather have the leak? Heck no!  I don't care if it doesn't match perfectly to the 40 year old decking around the pool. It is really close anyway! These guys were respectful of my personal property around the pool and swept and cleaned up the entire area before they left. I am extremely happy with the work they did.

These guys are competent and honest. Our insurance agent told us to contact them. We spoke to Jacob H., a technician, and described our strange problem: there was a persistent puddle around a sprinkler head near the exterior kitchen wall. Could he come out and detect the leak?

He told us to turn the sprinkler system off and then to check the water meter. He said that if there was a small leak in a pressurized line (like the water main), the water meter would be running slowly, and we would need leak detection. But if the water meter was not running, the leak would be in the sprinkler system, and we would not need his services.

We followed his advice: problem solved. He easily could have talked us into getting unnecessary leak detection, and the fact that he didn't do so shows a level of honesty and fairness that is hard to find these days.

We will be telling our insurance agent about how trustworthy this company is. Very impressive!

Got a call from Glenn, the manager.  Nice guy.  He is sending another tech out to recheck. Stay tuned...

Update: Our insurance company called ALD back out to scope the drains.  Once again, they sent out Lukas, this time with a helper.  They would not run the camera down any of the drains near the problem area.  They would only go through clean-outs, even though the shower drain is just as accessible and upstream of the problem.  The pipe diameters are also of similar size. They tried to run the camera to the area from a laundry room access.  But, couldn't get it past the 1st bend. My wife was looking over Lukas' shoulder to see what was on the scope.  He was frustrated because he couldn't get the snake through and gave up.  However, he told the insurance company that he WAS able to reach the area in question and everything looked fine.  As a result, they have denied our claim.  The adjuster told me that a drain issue was our best chance of getting approved.  Lukas' refusal to scope the area from the other side and his outright lie to the adjuster will cost us $10k+  

My wife's reaction when I gave her the news says it all:  What!!! I was standing RIGHT THERE. THEY HIT THE ANGLE & couldn't go past. He said with what the rest of the house looks like that he'll assume that part was ok.

If Lukas would have scoped the area and found nothing, we would have accepted that.  Instead, he flat out lied.  This comes after leaving a 5 star review on his first visit.  

Bottom line, if you suspect you have a leak, look for someone else.   Don't take your insurance company's recommendation.  American Leak Detection cannot be trusted.

When our hardwood floors started to lift, our insurance company sent out American Leak Detection.  Lukas was great! Called ahead, showed up on time and was quick and efficient once he got here. Thanks for the piece of mind knowing that we do not have any active leaks.

I use these guys all the time for pool and spa leak detection. Didn't know they do it all so definitely will use them for it all.

Mason and Osvaldo repaired a broken hot water pipe at my house. They did a reroute in a few hours. They were very honest, professional and courteous. Quality work at a great price. I would definitely recommend them for any plumbing issues residential or commercial. I had Jimmy Padilla come out to detect where the leak was coming from. Jimmy was able to detect where  the broken pipe was underneath my concrete slab. He was able to detect it within minutes. He was very professional as well and had a great attitude while doing his job. I would definitely recommend Jimmy at American Leak Detection anytime you don't know where your leak is coming from!!

DON'T USE. RIPPED ME OFF. Found a leak under my patio slab while cutting openings for patio cover footings. A plumber told me to call this company because the leak may be coming from my pool since the opening near the pool was filling with water. I called them, told them the problem, and agreed to the two-hour minimum and additional cost if special equipment was needed. Two guys showed up (good guys); however, they were only able to check the irrigation and house plumbing. Took them 20 minutes to say those weren't the problem and they weren't able to check the pool because that was beyond their capabilities (even though the side of their van lists pools). They said a different technician would have to come out (an additional $400 minimum). So basically I paid $400 for a 20-minute inspection that didn't even include my pool. I told the person I made the appointment with that I believed it was coming from my pool. Makes no sense why you would send two techs that can't check my pool, charge me $400, and then say I would have to make another appointment? I called the company, I got the answering service who said someone would call me that day. Never happened still waiting.

Manuel found, and fixed, our leak and was extremely conscientious in doing so. Very nice man who has worked with Company going on 20 years. Rarely, if ever have we been fortunate to have had an employee such as Manuel help us!  

More over, after Manuel left and we turned the was back on, we heard water running somewhere. The Company was able to get in touch with Manuel and he came back and fixed an entirely different problem.

You're never going to find a better customer oriented Company than American Leak Detection

Our insurance company sent ALD to detect the leak point in our house. A tech came on time and sent a report to our insurance company (see attached). We did the repair according to the recommendation but leak continued. I called the tech but no answer. I texted the tech but no response. I called ALD, they said they will contact the tech but nothing after that. I gave up and hired another company to detect and repaired the right spot. Don't waste your money with this company like I did.

I called and asked for a pool leak detection. They said they would check for all leaks (pool and spa) for $380. When their guy came he spent 2 hrs looking for leaks in my spa. He then said it would cost extra to check my pool for leaks. I felt cheated and it was like a bait and switch deal they gave me on the phone. They NEVER said it would cost extra to check my pool. I shopped around prior to going with them and they fooled me with their price. Stay Away from this business. Be warned, they will charge you extra.

American Leak Detection of Orange/Riverside was great. Quick response to first call. Diagnosed the problem with leaking pool and recommended options. Brian was great. Highly recommend them.

I've used this company to patch pool leaks in the past and they seemed pretty solid. However over the last week, I've left several messages with their operator as well as filled in the web form and can't even get a single callback to look at a new leak. Time to shop around.

OK, I was very apprehensive about any company finding my leak but after American Leak detection came in and did their stuff, I was very impressed.

I had been searching for this leak for months, I had replaced nearly every one of my sprinkler valves and several of my outdoor faucets. They used helium to pressurize and detect the leak in my system and it took about two hours before we saw the leak bubbling up through a patch of dirt.

All I can say is Awesome !

Next time I won't spend months looking for it first

American Leak Detection of Orange County replaced our pool skimmer and tiled our pool.  After about 4 weeks they completed the work.  They charged my card $5,000 for their services before the job was complete.  Before completing the work they disappeared for two weeks not answering calls or emails.

The bottom of our pool has grout marks from their tile work.  They came out to clean up most of it.

Service man showed up at time promised, in a mask. Determined what the problem was. Recommended a solution.

No issues.

Could not ask for better service.
Agent explained procedure in detail.
Veqry thorough evaluation of entire house.
Fortunately no leak found.
Worth the price for peace of mind and the knowledge no slab leak or any other problems found.    Great choice.

Even though they took pictures of my apartment, they did not find the leak, but they wanted $2000 to fix it. Thank goodness I found an expert to  trace the leak and fix it! I asked Glenn, the so-called supervisor, to refund my money but never heard from him again. Will never use them again, as your own plumber for a reputable company.

This company came out and spent 4 hours ending with the diagnosis of ground water. $275
Flash forward to having the floor ripped up and am streaming leak in a copper pipe - not a pinhole.  DO NOT RECOMMEND - use a plumber.

Absolute rip off. I had a possible leak at my house and without much research called them. Two people showed up. One sent the other guy inside the home and was giving him directions. They spent less than 25 minutes, couldn't do much and gave me a bill of $275. I am sure these guys are being paid less than $20 an hour for their level of experience. Avoid this company totally.

This is the 3rd time I have used American Leak Detection. Every time I use them, they find the leak within inches of where they said it was. The technician Manuel arrived on time and was so friendly. Couldn't be happier with the whole experience again. Don't waste your money hiring a plumber to come out and find the leak, use American Leak Detection they are the pros and you don't have to worry if you are being taken advantage of or the plumber saying I thought is was over here, apparently not, let's dig over here where I think it might be....

I hired them to determine my leak in the pool.  After repairing what they recommended it still leaks.  Look somewhere else.

Our plumber recommended this company and uses them very frequently.
Our technician, Nate, was great! He called to let me know what time he would be at our house, and he confirmed our appt. the next morning.  We needed a leak detection company because we had unexplained wet carpet spots in our guest bedroom and didn't know that source of the problem.   Nate promptly got to work and figured out the problem. I feel that he went above and beyond. I would use this company again and would definitely ask for Nate.

We called American Leak Detection out to find a pool or spa leak and they were unable to find it. Charged us $360 and claimed we did not have a leak despite salt water runoff into our drains. They came out 2 more times and still could not find the leak. We called another leak detection company out and they found our leak within 45 mins. Now I am trying to get a refund from American Leak and they are giving me a hard time. I WOULD NOT USE AMERICAN LEAK DETECTION again!

I recommend this company and specifically Mason Waller for his knowledge and professional approach to our toilet leak with water flooding covering both upstairs and downstairs floors and walls! 714-415-9726

We had some big puddles on the side of our home and thought we needed to cut back our irrigation.  The next day, the downstairs bedroom carpet was a little squishy in spots.  Insurance referred us to American Leak Detection.  They sent out technician Abel Lemus, who came out Friday evening.  He took his time to locate the cold water slab leak in our home, and came back early the next morning (on his normal day off) to repair it.  He worked very neatly and was very professional.  Not that I would want anyone else to go through this at their home, but if they did, I'd recommend Abel!

Jimmy was very professional and informative. He did a whole house leak detection. He was very efficient and managed to locate the leak for us. We appreciate their help. Will use their service again.

Had a leak from bathroom to next room floor .seemed coming from  bottom of shower .we got scheduled in a couple if days as it was not an emergency .next day was offered but we could wait .the technician  mr Novak came right on time .nice young man who systematically eliminated possible sources unti he found the problem from the shower valve and the shower bottom .took all the time he needed and solved the puzzle pinpointing the area that have to be fixed .money well spent .highy recommend the company .

I had a very good experience with American Leak Detection. Scheduling was easy and the technician, Jacob, was really good at finding and repairing the leak in my in-ground spa. Very happy with their service!

Danny is great! He is friendly, thorough, and patient. I recommend ALD if you have a leak, but you're not sure where it's coming from. They write thorough reports as well.

I had a leaking pipe from my pool skimmer to the pump.  My technicians (Michael and David) got the job done in a day.  They started at 8 am and stayed until the job was done. well past dark.  Everything works great and everything looks great after they had to replace part of my concrete patio.  Michael and David were very knowledgeable and professional.  I highly recommend American Leak Detection.  I don't have any complaints.

had small leak for one day they told my insurance company it was over a month so they could charge for mold remover   cut open my walls tore up my celling put a fan on it for 4 days so they could charge more   but at lest they  were super unpleasant  your yelp score is not looking so good

Very nice individuals, but it was clear they did not have the experience to detect a leak after they were here.  Had to hire a plumber to get the job done.

I recently noticed a wet spot on our kitchen ceiling. I called and made an appointment for the following day. Abel Lemus arrived at quickly found out leak. Abel also told me we had a slab leak. Bad news. Abel quickly fixed the kitchen leak. We decided to go ahead and repipe the house to prevent any further leaks.
Abel took only 2 days to finish the job. I can tell you that have used Abel on several occassions and he always does a great job.

Save your money and look for someone else beside this company. My pool contractor hired this company to find a leak in my pool, the first trip the technician spent few hours with no results then he said he has to come back with different equipment to try to locate the leak and it's going to be more of a charge , my contractor agreed so the same technician came again spent few more hours with no results again.
Then he said he needs to make a third trip again with new equipment and again extra charge so for the three trips almost was ganna cost over $1200 and still not guaranteed to find the leak.
To the point I had to step in as a home owner and stop wasting money and time and contacted another leak detection company myself, a really professional technician came over spent less than two hours and found the leak and costed me less than $400.
