Rudy came in at the end of the appointment window. he was prompt and very professional and offered to wear booties on his boots to protect our floors. Much appreciated!

Our kitchen sink was clogged and Rudy quickly unclogged it, resealed the back-out, and left the area spotless. It took 20 minutes to rotor the line and that was it. (Tip: clear out the entire sink area and leave it clean and completely empty to make the job go seamlessly.)

I absolutely recommend A Plumbing Hero. They are 24/7, reliable, and have absolutely reasonable rates-- and a responsive and awesome staff! I have a rental property and have relied on them twice already for emergency plumbing after hours and on a weekend. They do a great job, show up as promised, and don't extort you for emergency services. Definitely bookmark their website and keep them in your directory.

My parents' home had clogged pipes on a Saturday night that prevented the toilets from flushing and caused water to backup in the shower and kitchen sink. Looked up called up a few plumbers from Yelp. Eventually called A Plumbing Hero who said they could be out between 9pm-11pm.

Victor showed up as promised and diagnosed the issue. He dug up a hole in the yard to get to the main pipe, unclogged the main pipe and got everything flowing correctly again in 30 minutes. The next morning he came by with a camera to look through the pipes and to complete the install of a clean out in the yard. Very satisfied with the quality of work and professionalism of Victor. Price was also very comparable to what other companies quoted.

I called and they showed up on time. He gave me an estimate of the cost to replace my main shut off valve and an angle shut off valve to one of my sinks. The pricing I'll be honest was a little bit higher than what I wanted to pay however I didn't want to shop around a ton because I was trying to sell my town house. He quickly made the repairs. We test it out the valves and I was a happy customer.

Plumbing Hero? Yeah, right. I called on Easter Sunday because my kitchen sink was backed up, and they said that their only open time window was late in the evening. I accepted the time and was called back hours later saying that the plumber was busy and they couldn't come.

I was frustrated, with a backed up sink on Easter, but I agreed to have them come back today, Monday, in the morning so that I could get this taken care of before I went to work.

The end of the appointment window came today and I called to inquire where the plumber was. The rude woman who answered the phone informed me that he was running behind. When I told her that I was disappointed because I have been waiting all morning for the plumber, and really I was waiting a good part of Sunday as well, she had the audacity to say, WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO, I CAN'T GO TO HIM AND MAKE HIM WORK FASTER! Get another plumber if you want. I was so shocked at how rude this woman was to me, and how flippant she was to a customer.

This Yelp review has nothing to do with their plumbing services, as I still haven't seen a plumber, but their customer service is deplorable. The wait is supposed to be an additional 30 minutes which is faster than I can get another plumber to my home. Hopefully the plumber actually shows up in that time frame.

I feel like I am being strung along. I feel like they don't value my time. I feel like they don't value my business. I don't understand how the person who handles the phones, the person who is the first contact with your customers, can have such poor people skills.

Hire a receptionist with better customer service, or at least one with manners!

Victor finally arrived two hours (and five phone calls to the rude receptionist) later. He was lovely, professional, and efficient. He even apologized for being late. Drain works well and he offered a 30 day warranty. Happy with the plumber, unhappy with the phones/dispatch woman.

At 6 PM we heard a big whoosh sound, then the toilets, shower, and tub began to fill with water. We shut the water off to the house and called our water company. They stated that our pipes were clogged and we needed to call a plumber. It wasn't easy to find a plumber after hours. But A Plumbing Hero was at our home by 815, fixed the problem, and charged a reasonable rate (especially for after hours). Victor was courteous and snaked & re-snaked our house until he fixed the problem. Very impressive!!! I usually don't do many reviews unless it's exceptional or the absolute worse so please listen as I share how amazing our experience was with A Plumbing Hero. We own a MultiFamily home in San Leandro with our parents. The back house had both! bathroom showers overflowing with water. I called 6 different 24/7 plumbing companies on Sunday at 5pm with very little head way until I got ahold of A Plumbing Hero. They said someone would come out in 1-2 hours (the only other offer I had was in 5 hours ). Rudy showed up within an hour. He inspected everything before determining our sewer line was backed up. He walked me through the various steps he would take to remedy it and the cost before starting. He also informed me of the potential clean up fee that could incur. After snaking the sewer for over an hour not getting anywhere he suggested we needed a larger machine (it seemed like a special vacuum snake with a lubricant with a hefty engine) and another person to remedy our situation. He had a partner come bring the machine and they worked on it for 5 HOURS clearing out debris. First of all it foul and the amount that kept coming out was endless but Rudy and his Uncle kept going and explaining what was happening. They had us go back and forth between each house to see how things were progressing ensuring water pressure was flowing to the sewer once it was done. They went under the back house to double check pipes too. And then they scooped and packed 10 (yes, 10!!!) garbage bags away of debris and hosed down the area. They left with smiles and good attitudes with recommendations for follow up inspection to identify the root of the issue. Best plumbers around, Rudy and his Tio. And it seemed like a fair price as well for an emergency plumbing service of 5+ hours on a Sunday night. I can't even begin to explain how grateful I am for them tonight.

These folks are on top of it! I needed a plumber right away and they were able to send a guy out within an hour. The receptionist was very nice and professional. The first guy they sent out was nice. He showed me what he was doing and was teaching me along the way so that I might be able to replace my own garbage disposal in the future to help save money. I can't remember his name. Unfortunately when he replaced a valve under the sink the pipe behind the wall disconnected. I didn't notice until after he left and the water was turned back on. I heard the sound of running water and saw it running down the inside wall of the crawl space under the sink. I called back right away and they had someone else out within the hour. This time they sent Victor. He put on shoe covers before coming in and was very courteous. He told me what he as going to do before he did it and he really knew his stuff. It turns out that the pipe that broke was already damaged and the previous owner had done a DIY patch job and that's why it came apart when he replaced the valve, and since the pipe was behind a piece of plywood there was no way to see it. So all in all, Victor fixed it, patched the plywood back up, replaced another valve and charged us nothing. I will definitely ask for Victor by name next time. He was wonderful!

Called A Plumbing Hero around 9:30 AM Sunday morning to repair an emergency kitchen sink/disposal clog with water backing up and not draining at all. A Plumbing Hero charges a $35 emergency/weekend call fee that is waived once the recommended work is performed, which seems reasonable to me. Victor was at my house within a half-hour of my phone call and my sink was repaired and working like new again in no time at all. Service was quick, thorough, and polite. Would not hesitate to recommend A Plumbing Hero to anyone in the East Bay with emergency plumbing needs.

I made an appointment with a courteous woman at A Plumbing Hero over the phone, and Victor arrived as scheduled the next morning to provide an estimate. Let me make clear that I have the highest standards when it comes to allowing strangers into my home to do serious work, especially involving plumbing. I am thrilled to report that Victor was professional, meticulous in his attention to customer service, and pleasant in demeanor all while doing excellent quality work.

The job was a rather complicated replacement of an old, corroded hot water dispenser/spout under the kitchen sink; because I also have a separate water filter set up for it, all the variety of pipes and connectors down there made my head spin just trying to sort them all out. Since he was going to all that trouble I also asked him to replace our old, ratty garbage disposal. He quoted a fair price, and he was ready to do the job that very morning. I gave him the green light.

As he worked he kept everything clean. And he was FAST! At first when he quoted a time I was skeptical, but he kept to his promised schedule while maintaining the utmost level of quality. It's a tribute to him that he made the job look easy (but I never for a moment believed that I could do it myself).

After he completed the installations, he insisted on clearing all debris and old parts, cleaning the work area carefully, AND demonstrating that everything was in working order. He also provided a 1 year warranty on labor for the hot water dispenser and labor and materials for the disposal (which he supplied at my request).

In summary, Victor is the real deal, a plumber whose work ethic you can trust. He puts 100% into each job while also making the ordeal (face it: needing to call a plumber is never anyone's idea of a fun time) as pleasant as any plumber could. I highly recommend him. I trust that he will demonstrate to you that he deserves your business by doing what he does so well.

Clogged shower, pushed for a $1,800 cutt out so it's easier for them to snake. Ended snaking through the roof and it was clogged again 2 days later with no warranty. They only pushed again for the cut out saying they would deduct $380. Feeling ripped off.

Pump wasn't working again, breaker broke and pump needed cleaning. This time Victor came, but same incredible service. Came right on time, just like scheduled, between 11 and 1. This business has been prompt, hard working, and helping us fix a big issue with our sewage system. Call them now!

We first contacted them when our toilets began bubbling and shower backed up. Benito came out the next day. We didn't know where our clean out valve was (previous owners mulched over it) but he found it, cleaned it out, and gave us free advice on other projects we had in mind.

A month later the toilet bubbling began again. This time, after cleaning out the picpe, Benito used a camera and discovered our sewer pipe had cracks and roots growing into it. Our house is old, so this not unexpected.

We contracted with him to replace the pipe which he completely handled, permits and all.

Fingers crossed we won't need to call him again soon, but if we have another plumbing issue, I won't hesitate to hire Benito again.

Holy moly are these guys super stars! I called A Plumbing Hero after another local company came to my property and told me they couldn't do the job. The faucet head had fallen off in the tub and needed to be replaced along with a new plate. I called and A Plumbing Hero had someone at our town home 30 minutes later to fix the faucet and get the tub and shower up and running again. I was really impressed with the service. I called and spoke to the receptionist and told her that the cold water supply line to my hot water heater was leaking. She said someone could stop by between 5 to 6 pm. I had called several plumbing companies earlier and they all charged a service fee to come out and assess the problem. A Plumbing Hero did not charge a service fee. Score! Victor showed up promptly at 5.00pm and looked and the issue. He gave me a quote, which I thought was very reasonable. Repairs were completed after 10 mins. Service was very professional and Victor was great. I recommend this guys highly.

I needed to have a toilet reset due to a leak that occurred because the original wax ring I purchased did not make sufficient contact with the toilet bottom. I called a different company first, but did not get a response to my voicemail. Today I called A Plumbing Hero and not only did someone answer the phone, but they also had someone available to do the work.

They gave me a 2 hour window in which Victor would arrive to work on the toilet. Not only did he arrive in the 2 hour window, but in 45 minutes he had everything installed, and cleaned up.

Victor provided an estimate, which was a bit more than I was expecting, but in the end, it's a toilet, it gets used a lot and I wanted to make sure the job was done right... so the small difference between what I was expecting and what they charged me... that goes to the assurance I can sleep better at night without worrying about the toilet!

Most important of all... Victor and his helper showed up from another job site in which they got a lot of sewage mud on their shoes... without me even prompting him, he and his helper both removed their shoes to keep the sewage mud from the other job outside of my house! That deserves the 5-star rating alone.

Our quirky old house was built in 1928. For 17 years, we've had problems due to narrow steel pipes: low pressure, damaged faucets from debris, and a grey film coating the surface of glasses and plastics - even after installing a whole house filter.

The cost of replacing the pipes with copper was too high, not just financially, but also the overall impact of opening up the lathe and plaster walls.

When an unrelated improvement project presented the golden opportunity to replace the pipes - we jumped on it.

A Plumbing Hero was very responsive to initial phone call, and was able to schedule the work in a timely manner. But far more important: they stand 110% behind their work.

Victor takes pride in doing the job right - he listens well, and worked with us to resolve the to-be-expected problems given the magnitude of the project and age of our home. He is an incredibly honest craftsman who is also adept at working with City inspectors to make certain the necessary permits are approved.

The office manager, Natalia, is one of those rare jewels in customer service: effective.

We are grateful for the high-quality workmanship, and look forward to working with our plumbing hero in the future!

We had a plumber come out to look at installing a water heater Thursday morning for a quote, which seemed decent. I called back at 5pm Thursday and spoke to a nice lady (presumably the owner) and requested an appointment in the morning. She said the plumber would call back between 7 - 9am. Friday morning, I did not receive a call back. I called and the same lady said she sent all of her plumbers to another call early in the morning at 4am, as it was a big job.

So, what about those who had an appointment? She said she rescheduled all of them to the weekend, because the person at 4am paid an extra fee. From my perspective, this is unprofessional and unethical - why can't I make an appointment and expect it to be honored? I was straightforward with my questions, without using any derogatory language, but she took offense and said not to tell her how to run her business, then hung up on me.

I'd recommend finding another plumber that
a) will call you back when they send their plumber to another job, and
b) will make appointments, confirm them, and not cancel it for other jobs (i.e. someone pays an extra fee).

We have had three plumbing issues within the last several months and after not getting any assistance from our home warranty company (First American.. don't EVER use them!) my husband found A Plumbing Hero on Yelp and called them. All three times they have come out FAST and did our work efficiently and at a reasonable price.

The first problem was a outside faucet that needed to be replaced. The second was on Thanksgiving day when our daughter flushed her glasses down the toilet and they came out within a hour and a half and not only fixed the clog but got her glasses back undamaged!! The third time was this week when our water heater went out. After hassling all day with the home warranty company trying to get them to fix it with no success, we called A Plumbing Hero and Benito was there within hours and installed a new water heater the same day. Natalie, the office manager, has always been very helpful, responsive and sympathetic. Their prices are competitive and, as I said, they are FAST. When it comes to plumbing problems, you really don't want to wait to get your problem resolved.

I don't know what more you could ask for in a plumbing service. I highly recommend them!

Victor did an excellent job handling all the plumbing for our total kitchen tear down and remodel. We completely gutted the kitchen including moving the sink from the corner of the house to the middle of the kitchen (sink is now part of the island) and he was able to run the rough plumbing, work with the inspector and then come back several times to finish what he could at each stage of the job. This included working with the electrician to get the right wiring run, the cabinet people to get the right holes drilled and our designer to make sure it all worked together. He was competitively priced, easy to communicate with and-most importantly-the job went well and we're happy with the end result. Definitely recommend Victor for any plumbing needs!

My water pipes made a very loud noise throughout the house whenever we use the faucet or toilet. I searched on the internet and HomeAdvisor recommended 4 plumbers in my area, my question was also emailed to these 4 plumbers. I put in my request at 11pm and at 8am the next morning I got a call from A Plumbing Hero. They sent out Sam to look at my problem the same day and gave us a free estimates. Sam was knowledgeable and friendly. He knew exactly what to look for and identified the problem right away.

We ended up having him looked at other problems in the shower faucet and toilet. He gave us a package deal with extended warranty and was be able to come out the next day at the time we picked.

They were on time, professional, get the job done, courteous, and keep my house clean while they were working. And the cleaned up when they were done. They finished the jobs earlier than the quoted time. All the problems were fixed and we are very happy with their works. We will recommend A Plumbing Hero to any friends and family and we will re-hire them for future projects.

Victor is now my permanent plumber. He came to my house on a Sunday evening when no one else would. He stayed til about 9pm and finished the job perfectly. He had to take out an old piece of pipe and replace it and snake a couple of pipes. He talked about options so that the problem would not happen again, but did not suggest the most aggressive or expensive solution. I trust him. The price was fair, too, and he is a nice person!

The plumber who agreed to come to my house never showed up so I called around and after receiving appointments for times in the future found this company who gave me a time window about two hours later of 6 - 8 PM. They showed up a few minutes ahead of time and quickly got my drains unplugged. It cost $165 because I have a trap. They were in and out and very polite. (I'll have to admit though that the first guy came back into the bedroom when there really was no need to, but oh well.)

After both of our toilets became either clogged or slow draining within just a few days of each other, and with no luck repairing them ourselves, we found ourselves a bit overwhelmed and panicked this past Saturday afternoon. We found a couple of local plumbers with favorable Yelp reviews and contacted them. A Plumbing Hero called us back in less than an hour and sent Victor to our house within another hour they explained that he would give us a free estimate and proceed with the work, if we were in agreement.

Victor was polite, thorough, and clean, which I very much appreciated. It's one thing to do the dirty work, but he was careful to protect our house and keep things as tidy as possible in the process. In about an hour or so, we were relieved to have both of our issues resolved and felt the price was fair for the work performed.

I live in a condo and can't shut my water off, I Was having an issue with my water valve not shutting completely and my float needed to be replaced. I called this morning around 1030am to try and get someone to come out today for and the dispatcher said that they would have someone out between 4-6pm but would try to send someone earlier... it is now almost 12 hours later, no one showed up and no one even bothered to call and let me know they couldn't make it today. Now I will probably have to pay special rates to get a plumber out here on a weekend from a different service.

Start of rant: these guys will try their hardest to rip you off. If you know nothing about plumbing and have an emergency leak then that is the only reason you should use them.

I am a girl, and I did most of the major renovation in my home by myself. However, whenever service guys see female customers, they will automatically think that we are easy targets for their bullshit. It was a Sunday evening, and I wanted to find a place that was open-- of the 4 places in Fremont that I called, these were the first guys to pick up my call and they came in 2.5 hours. I wanted them to investigate a faucet hose leak from my new under-the-sink water filter. I had already purchased extra materials just in case the ones that came with the filter were defective. With the estimated cost, they are supposed to provide you with a diagnostic assessment. The guys pretended to inspect the hose with their flashlight, then quickly wrote up an estimate for $150 minimum repair. They said that was their NORMAL minimal price. I asked them to tell me their diagnoses and their answer I don't know. Me: What do you mean you don't know? You're quoting a price for service, so what is your service? The guys we will have to look more closely after you agree to the contract. And, it's leaking because you are missing parts. You are missing a tube insert and o-ring. Me: Um, NO, as you can clearly see the new tube insert and o-ring are already on the tube end here [holding up the parts] and they don't look broken to me, and I also bought a spare that is right here IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE. The guys: well they must be broken because of the leak. This is utter bullshit, and I feel that they are completely disrespecting me so I rudely tell them to leave my home and open the door for them to exit.

I then wait for one of my neighbors to come home from dinner-- he's an ex-handyman. He fixed the leak in under 5 minutes for free without having to purchase any additional parts -- he said that it takes experience to set a tight seal with this type of o-ring for this filter, nothing more. Also, he said not to follow the instructions, which stated to only hand-tighten the joints and then just use a wrench for 1/4 turn (the manufacturer was worried that some customers would be too aggressive and break the parts). My neighbor made many turns with the wrench, without breaking anything.

$150 minimum for ANY work is a bullshit price. When I had a tenant before, I had hired a plumber, who works weekdays only, who charged only $40 to fix a toilet and $90 to fix a dishwasher. If these guys at A Plumbing Hero were smart, they would have known to lower the cost to something acceptable so that could at least cover the gas for the short trip over.

Aside: If I could get away with charging ridiculous amounts of money for obviously simple work, I still wouldn't feel right cheating people the way these guys are. They must be rolling in dough if they're collecting $150 for every 5 min of work.

A Plumbing Hero saved the day and probably my marriage! (Ha ha!) At 10:30 PM on Friday night, my husband while trying to unclog the drains, got his roto tool stuck 50 feet down in the main sewer drain pipe under our house. Our house and pipes are over 60 years old. I was afraid the pipes were being damaged and we were arguing about it, a lot! I was worried so I went under the house into the cramped crawl space with a light to inspect the pipes...expecting I might find a little dripping..... That is when I found the worst disaster I never wanted to see in my entire life...right under my house! The sewage line had been leaking for some time with all of the water from the kitchen and bathroom shower and sink..due to a corroded pipe which had a hole the size of a golf ball. Water had pooled and it was muddy under the house and musty. I was worried and horrified and upset. It was very late so we shut down all of the water, left the roto tool and waited till morning. I did not sleep well...All the while my husband and I were not getting along well! At 8:30AM Saturday I called A Plumbing Hero. They were very nice and by 9AM they were here inspecting the problem! Victor is very courteous and professional. He assured us it was going to be ok. We had great confidence in him and his associate. He quoted us a good price and they went right to work. First laying down plastic and tarps to protect my floors. They fixed the damaged pipe beautifully installing a whole new section. They did the job right! They extracted my husbands stuck rooter tool and applied absorbant to the wet area. My house went from a terrible musty disaster, to fully repaired and fresh smelling. Victor also repaired a bad vent pipe and pressure relief pipe on the water heater. They were efficient and amazing! I am very critical of contractor crews because of my many past bad experiences, so please know I do not give this high praise lightly. We were so happy and impressed with the work and service that we will only use A Plumbing Hero from now on. We will be calling them back to repipe the older section of the house and for any other plumbing needs we have. I am very thankful for these men for truly saving the day! (And my marriage!) We found both of our showers and toilets clogged after arriving home from the airport at 11:00pm. Then we started to call all the plumbing companies with so-called 24 hours service. No one called back except one with very high charge and a two-hours wait window. Finally we tried A Plumbing Hero at 11:50 pm. The lady answered the phone was so courteous and she started to diagnosis the problem. Victor arrived my house at 12:45am and got everything fixed in 20 minutes. I gave this place a two star because the guy that actually came out was a nice guy and kept trying to clean my homes sewer line until the water was flowing. But the customer service is worth maybe a 1 at best. The issue was first when I scheduled the service I was told between 3-5 pm. I left my daughters birthday party early in order to arrive on time, only to wait and come to find out the guy never put appointment in the system. So the plumber did not arrive until 7 pm. Now it's Friday and the water is backing up again. I call and was told they would come out for no charge. 5 mins later get a call back saying they would have to charge me another $250 since the original service did not include a warranty on the work. I asked if they would give me a discount provided that i waited an additional 2 hours due to their error the first time. Was placed on hold for 5 mins only to be told they would charge me full price. No apologies no effort in keeping a customer. Well I'll take my business elsewhere.

I called them at 10:30pm yesterday. The phone call was courteous and I was given a window of 11pm to 1am. My showers and toilets were overflowing. I would definitely recommend this business, I filled out plumbing request for a leaky pipe on Servicemagic and Aplumbinghero responded within 15 min, offered free estimate for following morning ( I had filled out form at 8 pm for non emergency job) The following morning the arrived promptly, gave a reasonable estimate and finished the job in a timely manner. This should be between 4 and 5 stars. Our two sinks in the kitchen decided to be difficult on a Sunday after a small gathering. Not blaming it on the small gather, I'm sure the problem had been building for quite some time. I mentioned it because of the urgency that was needed to get the place back to normal. The way it looked, was I was about to get a bucket of hot water and start washing dishes in the bathtub or outside. I Made a phone to these folks at about 9:00am on a Sunday morning. Lady answered, was very nice and said she could have a guy come by between 1-3pm today, sooner if he was able to finish up on another house sooner then expected.

11:15 rolls around and she calls back says he's available now. Can he come by? Yes of course. I was out running errands but will be there shortly. My partner was there and she could handle the situation.

So not that's it's a complaint as much as a surprise. My partner tells me he walks in, without even looking at the sinks he blurts out that'll be $279.00. She's thinking, how the hell does he know that it's 279 without even looking at the sinks? She says ok, he rolls in his snake and snakes one of the sinks. He's not there for more the 30 minutes and everything is fixed.

Now I know I shouldn't even care, he came in did his job correctly and left. I started doing the math and this guy is doing better then a lot of lawyers. 500.00 + per hour. I told my son who's looking at trade school to look into plumbing. I should just shut the F up and give him 5 stars.

I contacted them based on the 5-star rating on YELP. Sure, the customer service was top-notch and the plumbers who came got the jobs fixed, but the cost for the service was WAY higher than I would have expected. $350 to fix a p-trap and clear a clogged drain is pretty steep. They gave us a 10% discount when we complained about the cost, but they did say that that was their normal price for work.

Though it is normal to happen, a second plumber had to come the next day to redo one of the jobs as the pipe work had caused some gunk to block the pipe, but that was done quickly and at no extra charge.

So, quick and effective, but very expensive.

A Plumbing Hero was definitely our Hero this evening. 6pm on a Sunday we discovered a broken shower faucet that would not shut off. I called at least 10 local plumbers that claimed to be 24hrs but the best they could do was Monday morning. A Plumbing Hero answered their phone right away and confirmed they could have someone out in 2 hours.

Our hero Rudy promptly arrived wearing a face mask and shoe covers and was very professional . He diagnosed the issue right away and explained the parts that needed replacing. If I could give them a zero I would. Had a backed up toilet in a unit. First they come and remove toilet and snake and provide no feedback. Same problem 2 weeks later and say they only have 3 day guarantee. Came back and when asked to further investigate he said he would be right back because he needed something from his truck and just left. No explanation. This review is for work we had done 3/26/2013. We had a clog with our main sewer line and needed help fast. All of the drains and toilets in our home were backed up b/c of this clog in the main sewer line. A Plumbing Hero gave us a free estimate the same day we called and gave us the help we needed. They informed us that we needed to install access to the main sewer line since we had an older home that didn't have one. They were able to do the work on the same day and fix the problem. While they were finishing up they noticed there was a leak coming from our main water line pipe and recommended we replace it. They showed us the pipe they replaced and it was in fact in bad condition. They replaced our main water line pipe with a new copper one also on the same day and said that we should notice a drop in our water bill now that this was fixed. Our last water bill was in fact lower and I owe it all to the honest and reliable plumbing help we received from A Plumbing Hero. I now have another problem that needs to be fixed with a possible leak under our home and am calling them for help again. I will be sure to leave a review for how this next problem is resolved.

I called A Plumbing Hero to hook up two sinks, install my dishwasher, and install a water line to the refrigerator. They were immediately available that day to come give an estimate. When they arrived, I thought the estimate was a bit high, but as the experts, they must have seen how long the work would take. They did a great job installing the water lines and the dishwasher, which seemed like a pain to deal with.

A few days later, I saw that my bathroom sink was leaking, and I called them and they immediately came that day to check on it. Victor recognized that the leak was coming from something he had not worked on, but he still fixed it for me. It was a great experience working with them and it was great customer service all around. My hero! Imagine my horror at seeing the toilet, bathroom sink, kitchen sink filled and filling up with really bad stuff and then the laundry room floor all wet, and it's 7:30 at night. I Yelped to find a plumber and found APH with 5 stars. I immediately called in a panic. The phone call was answered promptly and I was told someone would be out between 8 and 9 that same night. Amazing! Within the hour Benito arrived and took quick stock of the situation. He pointed out a leak with the toilet and snaked the blockage out for a very reasonable price, especially considering the hour and the emergency. Let's start with the beginning ...

We had looked into several different plumbers here on Yelp, called three, and Natalia at A Plumbing Hero was the only one that actually answered the phone. She initially gave us an ETA of between 4 and 6 o'clock. Victor arrived at 5:45 and just left about 20 minutes ago (at 6:37).

Our plumbing had developed a massive clog all the way out by the street, under the house. It had caused the flushed toilet water to back up into the bath tub, and by the time Victor arrived, the water was about 3-4 deep.

When we asked for the quote to clear the line over the phone with Natalia, she quoted us at $149, when Victor arrived and realized he'd have to go under the house, he re-quoted us at $179. They honored the original quote, despite the extra obstacle.

We would definitely call A Plumbing Hero in the future. They certainly were our heros today.

Had a leak from the toilet to the lower unit kitchen on Sunday. Saw Plumbing Hero on yelp and decided to try them out based on their review. I tried calling a couple plumbers around 2 pm and all I got was their voicemail But Plumbing Hero actually answered and told me they can be there between 4-6 on a Sunday.
They were on time and they called me to informed me the technician is on his way. Victor showed up and was very professional, he took off his shoes when he saw me took of mine. He explained to me what is causing the leak and what needed to be done to fix it probably.

Victor gave me a quote and to come back on Monday to finish the job with the part. They communicate through out the work, they called me on Monday after letting me know Victor got stuck on the other job and setup an appointment with me to complete the job on Wednesday.

Wednesday, they gave me a call to let me know Victor is on his way and again Victor showed up on time and did a wonderful job.

Spoke to a lady named Natalia who was really friendly and she said somebody would be right over between 11am and 1pm. At 12:30pm, a gentlemen named Benito promptly arrived within the promised window. He was super professional and kindly placed shoe covers before taking a step into our home. He asked questions (and answered our questions), surveyed the situation, and made a thoughtful assessment. Within a few minutes, we were back in business (without a trace, since he made sure to clean up after himself). I've never had to deal with plumbing issues, ever. So on a Friday night, when we discovered a leak downstairs from having taken shower and baths upstairs, we needed help. Being new to the area, I relied on yelp for our first plumbing help experience. I called around Saturday morning during the Labor Day weekend and found only voice mails to answer my calls...until...A Plumbing Hero! There was Natalia's friendly voice to answer and not only that, she understood our problem over the phone and provided an estimated assessment on what the plumber would do once here. He could come out on same day and likely fix on same day! Woohoo! I hung up but called back to ask if we would be charged emergency fees...no fees for it being on a weekend and holiday weekend at that. Double Woohoo!
Victor and Rodolfo came to our rescue that afternoon. They were on time and professional. Soon as they introduced themselves, they put on those protective socks for shoes prior to entering the house -- I liked that! They made their assessments and gave us details on what was going on. They then proceeded to fix the problem. Victor was so thorough, he made sure there weren't anymore immediate leaks to pose as problems. And when found, he offered to fix on the spot. He also offered to keep what was exposed for a few days to make sure things are ok, which met our comfort level. After a few days of the job being done, sure enough, no leaks! When they came back to patch up the ceiling that had to be cut, they were just as friendly and professional to finish the job.

It was an experience that built trust and I would use A Plumbing Hero for any of our future plumbing needs. I recommend them!

I called A Plumbing Hero last week for a bid on my house. They scheduled an appointment for tomorrow but then called this am to state that they would be moving the appointment to today from 10am to after 12pm. No problem, so i waited till 3:15pm and called them back at the number I was called from. Woman who answered the phone said that there was a mistake and they must have called the wrong number. Then said that the estimator was out and when i stated that i had been left hanging for 3 hours she said that they wouldn't be doing business with me.

Here is the summary - Don't do business with people that don't keep their commitments. This is a simple rule and one that has worked for me over the 26 years I have serviced businesses with my own company. Taking care of customers is too important to leave in the hands of those with attitude. If the performance of the plumbers that work for A Plumbing Hero have any relationship with their back end operations, then this is a business you want to avoid.

Toilet was backed up----a real problem with a disabled family member. After seeing their reviews, called A Plumbing Hero at 9am. Boy, did we luck out. Office gave us a two hour window--10 to 12. Victor was here at 10am, with a almost there call so we could change the location of our 3 large dogs before he arrived. He solved the problem within minutes, at a really reasonable rate, compared to other outfits. GREAT service, Our next plumbing job is a big one--tankless water to replace standard gas heater. Right before Thanksgiving, my garbage disposal started leaking water every time I turned on the faucet. A Plumbing Hero called me immediately after I submitted the information to Home Advisor. First post ever!

Had our bathtub and toilet clogged at 11PM!! ... We looked up a plumber on yelp to see who was open. A plumbing hero was the only one available in the Hayward area. I was given an estimate time of 11:30pm-1am and he arrived exactly at 11:40. Not so shabby. Before I said one word he knew what was wrong and what he was looking for. Surely enough when he found out what he was looking for he went straight for his tools and worked his plumbing magic. It took a while... but that wasn't his fault. I think i flushed one too many toilet paper... The bill came out to be relatively cheap 165.. flat... doesn't matter how long he took. This morning, my wife discovered a spraying leak, under our bathroom sink. We found A Plumbing Hero on Yelp and they confirmed someone could come by in 1-3 hours. This plumbing company is ideal for trolls who like to waste other peoples' time, as this company likes to waste their customers time.

I gave them 3 weeks to wait until the New Year to leave a review.

I work in the real estate industry as a landlord, property manager and project manager for developers. I was referred to Victor from my electrician, whom I will advise to no longer refer this company to anyone. When I use a company and I like their services, I refer them to my clients and continuously provide work minimum one project per month. This company's loss, another company's gain!

Here is my experience with them:

I scheduled an appointment for an estimate to replace my water heater with a tank, to a tank less water heater as required by the city of Hayward, as part of my rebuild permits due to space in the garage. I already have the permits approved, paid and pulled. All this company had to do was to provide me with an estimate of the work involved (new 1 inch pipe line from meter running to garage and install new unit).

Appointment was on Monday December 21st, and Victory showed up promptly at 10am as scheduled (This is what the company gets one star for!)

I followed up on the 23rd, and again on the 27th. Victor had been busy and he'll submit the estimate on the 27th. I called the 30th to see where my estimate is, as I have not received the email yet. Lady informs me we don't have your email on file. Generally when this is the case in the business world my experience is, the receptionist calls and asks hey, your estimate is ready, we don't have the best email to reach you at..... This company failed to follow up.

I provided my email address and told the lady I will wait on the phone for her to send it, she said okay doing it now, and we hang up. I call back an hour and half later as I still didn't receive it. Turns out the lady didn't email it, the next receptionist said she'll do it as soon as she is out of her meeting.

Its January 4th now, and I still have not received an Estimate.

Had these guys come out to remove and cap off some water lines under the house as part of a remodel.

They showed up when they said they would both times (the estimate and the second time for the actual job itself). They were courteous, professional, and turned the job around pretty quickly. The cost itself was also pretty reasonable and comparable to some of the other shops around town.

These guys are recommended and I would definitely use them again. Thanks :)

Terrible experience with these guys. Had them come in because we suspected a leak on our property. They assured us there was NO LEAK and all we needed was a $600 pressure regulator and a $2100 new water heater. They said the sound of leaking water in our walls was just air. LOL. They would of known we had a leak if they had done the most basic thing of checking our water meter which was spinning like crazy but no, just
air in our pipes. They took their $70 fee for their incompetent diagnosis and went on their way. We were no better off after the visit than before. We had a second plumbing company come in the next day and discovered the leak and fixed it the same day. If we had listen to these guys, we would have a $1000 water bill because apparently, we had NO LEAKS. LOL.

Original appt. was for 11-1, but they called and offered to come early! Rudy was awesome, very nice and respectful. He checked out the situation and explained what was needed. He pointed out a few things that also desperately needed repair and advised how much the parts would be. He explained everything along the way. Very happy with the fast, efficient work and will definitely recommend to friends!

I called A Plumbing Hero on Saturday at 3:00pm for a clogged kitchen sink, and Victor arrived at 6:00pm that same day. He was very polite and super-quick. Cost was $150, about what I expected. They also gave a 30-day warranty on their work. I will definitely use them again if I have any more plumbing issues.

I had a water main valve burst on a Sunday afternoon. I called one guy who came out and saw that I had a PVC run from the curb and said he wouldn't touch it because he wasn't good with them. I called A Plumbing Hero and they came out within the scheduled range. Victor and Rodolfo took one look and said No problem! It was fixed an in hour, versus the 6 hours I was quoted previously, and well under the other guy's estimate as well. I'm going to be going with these guys from now on. They truly were heroes. The house has water again and the wife is happy. Can't beat that!

Enrique saved the day for us! We called several other Plumbers and was told they couldn't come until Monday or Wednesday. This was a Friday morning and we had no water due to a busted pipe. No way we could go a day let alone 3 without water. He not only came out that morning but he showed up early. So polite and professional. Had running water within a couple hours! Price was well below what we were expecting to pay. Very happy and will defiantly recommend them to our friends.

Benito is my Plumping Hero. I actually called this place by accident on yelp but it works out great. At first we thought it was an easy job 15 minutes but it ended up being 2hrs. Benito goes above and beyond to make sure our drain works..he literally tried every methods there is but you know it goes. Things always didn't work as we expected. But I'm glad it works at the end. I appreciate how hard Benito work to resolve the problem. Highly recommend them and if you mention yelp you get 10% discount

This is a very professional company who knows how to fix problems quickly and effectively. I had already asked one plumber to come out to my house to help me with my shower faucet and because he didn't know the brand he was unable to help me. Luckily I called this company and the receptionist was very knowledgeable and seem to know more than the first plumber. They sent out Rudy and he was wonderful! Ruby was friendly and knowledgeable. He explained everything to me clearly and did an amazing job! Thank you Rudy, you really were a plumbing hero! I highly recommend them!

I just moved to Hayward and in need to replace a toilet and install a bidet. I called A Plumbing Hero to make an appointment for an estimate. I received a call back in 5 minutes after I left a message from Natalia. She said she has to check with the technician if they are able to do the work. On the day of the appointment Victor showed up on time, he was very knowledgeable and was able to complete the work within an hour. He cleaned up and even took the boxes the bidet and the toilet came in. His price was reasonable and I would recommend highly recommend A Plumbing Hero. Very efficient!

I have used A PLUMBING HERO's services on three separate occasions in the last couple of months - a couple of times at my Mom's house and now once at my house. No one wants to need a plumber that often, but this company is a total pleasure to deal with. Prices are fair, they are punctual, extremely neat, and VERY responsive.

The work that they have done for us include: fixing a running toilet and a leak, replacing faucets (bath and kitchen), replacing a kitchen sink, and replacing a water heater.

They come prepared and are very polite and friendly. Even the young woman who handles their phones is great! Victor has handled all of my calls (with a helper on occasion) and he is the absolute best! I would not hesitate to recommend them. Great customer service!

Yesterday, I called A Plumbing Hero after my toilet's pump stopped working. I called at 1 pm and the receptionist assured me that the plumber would arrive between 4 & 6 pm. Victor was right on time. He was informative and knowledgable about his craft. He was in and out within 30 minutes. The price was reasonable. And, they're now my new plumbers. Thanks so much guys!

This is the second time I've had Victor come to solve a plumbing problem. Both times he was courteous, knowledgeable, friendly and quite capable. Before setting foot into the house he puts paper booties on over his shoes (even when I said it was not needed), explains what will be needed, discusses alternatives, then dives in to get the work done as quickly as possible.

I should also note that this time the problem happened at 5am and I called them at 6am. The woman answering the phone had obviously been woken by my call and was a bit foggy. But she quickly noted the details, gave me a two hour window (9-11am) that day (on a Sunday!) and was careful to repeat everything back to me for confirmation. Victor showed up at 10:40, apologized for being 'late' and proceeded to solve the problem and was out of the house by 11:10. Can't get any smoother than that!

I will always call A Plumbing Hero for all of my plumbing needs. They are a fast, honest and reliable company. Victor is friendly, knowledgeable and leaves everything clean and tidy. We had an emergency with our toilet on a Saturday and he came out super fast and had it fixed in no time.
Victor also helps my mom out a great deal who is getting up there in years. I can't tell you how great it feels to know that someone is taking care of her problems and NOT taking advantage of her just because she is older and on her own.

Can they get the work you need done quick? Probably.

Will they deceive you and overcharge? Certainly.

I bought a new under-mount sink for my kitchen, replaced most of the old piping underneath and tried to reuse my old garbage disposal. I had a small leak from one of the pipes I bought so decided to call this company to sure up my work. Victor arrived and told me everything was completely wrong and needed to be redone. He said a new garbage disposal is needed so it can properly secured to the drain (true) and new piping was needed.

He quoted me $629. He told me the piping needed is only found at specialty plumbing stores (not true). I asked if I could buy anything at Home Depot to make this cheaper. He claimed that if I buy my disposal through them, it may not come with the appropriate wiring needed (not true).

I kept pondering, because something felt off. He kept pressuring and saying I have everything in the truck right now. I can get the job done.

The job took 45 minutes and he used the same piping that I later found at Home Depot for 10 dollars. I essentially paid 500 dollars for labor after the cloud of deceit was cleared away and realizing the true cost of materials vs service.

Victor did a good job, but the cost of labor certainly doesn't justify the work that was done.

What an awesome plumbing team! Our whole bathroom was clogging up--the sink, the toilet, the shower--it was a real emergency, 'cause it's the only bathroom we have! The phone receptionist was able to schedule an appointment window from 6pm-8pm the same day when I called at 5:30pm, and the plumbing guys arrived right at 8pm. They were very clean and very communicative about what was going on and what they needed to do to fix the problem, and got the work done that same night (it took a couple of hours, since they installed a cleanup valve outside and pulled a lot of roots out of our main line). And they were very considerate to my elderly grandma--just all-around good guys on top of being good at what they do. It's been a week, and everything's still running good as new!

We had a burst showerhead that wouldn't stop leaking water. It was an emergency, so we called A Plumbing Hero on a Friday to come help us. They came the next day and fixed the issue.

However, they charged us $689 which was expensive! It was on the weekend, but it still cost way more than expected. The job took less than an hour and we even provided our own parts. After negotiating for a long time, we finally got them to drop the price by 10%. Later, we called another plumbing service who said the job should only cost $300-400!

Overall, they got the job done but they charged too much!

Came home Friday afternoon to find the toilet wouldn't flush. Tried to snake it myself but the clog was too resilient or, just out of reach of my own snake. Anyways, I called about 4:30 and was able to get someone out between 6 and 8 pm that night. She said they'd call about 20 minutes before arrival. While waiting for that call Benito arrives at my door at 7. No call before arriving as indicated by what's-her-name that answered my call (-1) . He said it would be $150 if it was solved by using an auger and $250+a new seal, if the toilet had to be pulled. First shot at the auger was successful. Thank you! Benito also replaced the flapper and fill valve, since the current flapper was failing. He used the new fill valve I had and flapper he had in the van. Took him about 20 minutes from first knock at the door. Ended up being $175 which I guess could have been worse so that was good. Especially on a Friday night house call. Rates seem ok when I asked Benito he said it was $150 min and about another $150 for job thereafter. I guess no real hourly rate, IDK. So Good first time experience. Would likely return again if the need arises.

This company has truly earned 5+ stars! I highly recommend them. My house needed a complete repiping and Victor came to the rescue with his awesome crew of prompt, professional and efficient guys.
The price was very competitive and was performed flawlessly and in record time.

I was very hopeful when I had a plumbing emergency and called them at 9 in the evening to see if someone was available to help us. Unfortunately there wasn't anyone available but they suggested that we schedule an appointment for them to come by between 10am and noon the following day. After waiting through the allotted time I call to make sure someone is on the way. They had no idea of us needing service at all. Needless to say we went with another company. My experience, a waste of time.

Began with an attempt to change out the fill valve/flapper, that quickly turned into the suspicion that pretty much everything between the wall and the water in the bowl needed to be changed out..everything from the wall valve to the innards of the tank. Nothing was working the way it was supposed to, and then the wall valve (old, admittedly) decided it was time to give up the ghost..it wouldn't shut off, and so i had a constant flow of water down the toilet. Yay. At that point i realized i was over my head, and would happily pay a pro to fix it.

Called these guys & spoke with a nice lady who placed the appointment between 5--7pm, but i soon got a call asking if the tech could arrive a half hour early. Score!

Victor arrived & handled business, changing out everything. He was nice, and professional, keeping me apprised at all stages of the encounter (because the job evolved a bit, when he noted that the kit that i had bought was missing a crucial part, and i trusted him when he explained the importance of the small piece)..so yeah, he ended up providing a new kit at a bargain price, and I'll be returning the kit that i purchased.

I asked for a card before he left, and i plan to call him for my future needs, as well as recommend him to anyone in need, if ever the occasion arises.

10/10, would recommend.

Can't say enough good things about this company. Service is quick, efficient and on time. Covid-19 protection and shoe covers when inside. They came out and gave me a free estimate on my water heater that was leaking, sadly it needed to be replaced. He gave me a reasonable price and the water heater was installed in a timely manner and he left the area cleaner than it was. By the afternoon I had hot water! I have to say a hero came to my rescue indeed.

Hired these guys when the 40 year old gate valve on the water main to my house broke. They came out about an hour later and repaired it in short order. All in all the service was very good and FAST! My only complaint was it was a little high priced for the amount of work it took. I would higher these guys again as I think the quality of work was worth it. A larger job would involve extensive negotiation.
