Alberto and his dad Jose are amazing!

Here's the background: I needed a window replaced with a smaller one for a new kitchen installation.  The job required new framing, stucco outside, and drywall inside.  And I needed it in a rush since the guy I hired originally to do it didn't bring any materials, removed the window, and decided he needed to go home without finishing the job the day before it was supposed to rain!  

I went to Yelp to find someone for a window replacement, and Alberto responded immediately.  He asked for photos which I sent, and he gave me an estimate right away, and was able to show up at 9am the next morning, which was perfect.

Alberto and his dad Jose showed up the next morning, on time, fully prepared with all materials.  They prepared the area, and worked throughout the next day until the job was completed.  The new window looks great, and was installed properly.  The stucco job looks great and drywall work was also perfect.

My experience with Alberto was so good that I hired him again for another job which also went well.  I had him install two over-the-door awnings and security cameras.  Again, he showed up on time, prepared, with all materials and tools needed to complete the job.  (3 people and 3 ladders).  They completed the job super quick and were on their way!

We uncovered some old termite damaged framing that needed replacing. We'd been struggling for weeks to find a contractor who could fit us in - until we found Alberto. Alberto is amazing! We had an old floor/wall heater that no longer worked and was just an eyesore. I couldn't find anyone to get rid of it. Alberto was able to cut out the wall heater, remove portions of the floor heater, replace the flooring, drywall, and paint! Everything looks perfect and he was able to take care of it within a few days! His pricing was more than fair. We can't wait until he works on our bathroom remodel! Thanks Alberto!

I called A&A Home Improvements to replace a timer switch that was no longer working as well as a dimmer switch that wasn't getting along with my LED lights. Jose responded right away and gave a very reasonable estimate to complete the job the same day. Excellent service, and my lights are happy again.

Fantastic service all around.  Alberto responded right away to my inquiry and came out the next day for an estimate.  The work was done surprisingly quickly and the results were great.

Alberto built an entry way for our house and took care of everything associated with that; moved water lines, wired lights & doorbell camera, pulled permits and worked on the plans with the draftsmen to make sure everything was to the city's standards.

Alberto was great and very professional. I had to have my bathroom overhauled because of a toilet leak. I was under a short turnaround of 2 days and Alberto did the job with time to spare. New sink, new toilet, new floors as all of that had to be replaced. My bathroom looks brand new now and I'm loving it!

Alberto was very communicative, honest and accommodating. I requested estimates from a few contractors to replace a walk-in shower with a bathtub and Alberto was to first one to get back to me to schedule a visit and provide a quote for the job. I later added a few items to the scope of work and Alberto was able to provide an updated estimate in no time with competitive pricing. He answered all my questions and was very knowledgable. While we didn't end up hiring A&A for this particular job, they will be top of the list for upcoming projects!

I want to start off by saying that Jose and his father are top notch workers. They rescued me from a leaky toilet I didn't realize was leaking from my upstairs bathroom. I came home to find the ceiling in my utility closet soaked and leaking on to the floor. I contacted a local plumber which gave me an outrages estimate. They also told me I would need to hire another company for mold treatment and the house would need to be quarantined.

I remembered being referred to Jose and gave him a call. He promptly arrived the next day to assess the problem and game me a more than reasonable quote. He replaced a faulty wax ring from the toilet which caused the leak. Then he opened up the ceiling in the utility closet where a little mold was present. He reassured me there was no need to have it quarantined like previously told. He disinfected and sterilized the area affected. I had to wait a few days to let it all air out and dry. Jose arrived once it was all clear and patched up the ceiling. If that wasn't enough, my water heater took a dump a few months later and caused a lot of water damage in the same utility room. Without hesitation, I contacted Jose and his father for the job. Again, they arrived on time and performed a great job.

BEWARE- Alberto charges $100 just to come out for an estimate and then comes back with super inflated quotes. What a racket. He wanted $650 just to install vertical blinds and $5,000 to install 2 bathroom doors!!! Insane. I don't know about these other reviews but he will not hesitate to try and take advantage of you. You've been warned.

Alberto did a fantastic job at our condo. We had water leakage for which Alberto's team had to open up the ceiling above our dining room. His work was very professional.

Although it was a big job, I did think in the beginning that the all-inclusive quote was high. For the first few days, I felt a little terrible for signing up to such a big financial expense. My only comfort was knowing that everyone on Yelp gave Alberto's team terrific reviews. As the project went into its 4th and 5th day, however, I started to see what a big endeavor the job actually was. In the end, it took 8 days to get the whole job done. Alberto found other little things here and there that he just took the liberty of taking care of, free. In calculating backward, I think Alberto gave me a fair price for the job he did.

I will definitely contact Alberto's team again when I need to have more work done around the house.

My experience with A&A Home Improvements was EXCELLENT! Alberto, is VERY professional, accommodating, and takes pride in his work. He build a brand new ADU for my mom in the city of Compton (Check out the pictures). Alberto, patience got tested when the city kept asking for random permits, along with other fees that needed to be dealt with, in order for the project to continue. ALL of this was took place during the pandemic and he still got the job done!  Any other contractor having to deal with all this during the pandemic would have abandoned the project. I will definitely contact Alberto's team again when I need to have more work done around the house.

Responsive, timely, high quality....

Those are probably the best words I can use to describe A & A Home Improvement's work. One of the windows in my home was not installed correctly and the city was trying to fine me for the improper installation. The previous owner had done the work but I was being held responsible for the improper work (City of Gardena is notoriously terrible with their building inspectors). I shopped around the project and multiple contractors were interested but A&A was the most responsive. I was stood up by two other contractors who I took the day off to meet.

Alberto reviewed and quoted me on the project on the same day he initially contacted me. He pulled the window out, refitted, stucko and sealed the window. The process took about week and half, but the best part about it was that Alberto scheduled all the reviews by the building inspectors without needing me to be there. He probably met with the inspectors at least three times and a lot of the times they were uncooperative. I experienced it myself first-hand, when they initially inspected the window. He really took the stress of the project off of me. All of his work was done up to code.

I would highly recommend A & A Home Improvements to anyone and will likely use them again in the future.

I requested around 20 quotes for my project via Yelp. After receiving number of estimates, I decided to go with A&A Home Improvement. I could not be happier with Alberto and his crew. We had him quote us for some plumbing repair. He came down for free to assess and quote us a price.
We paid him to fix a leak in our wall, replace our garbage disposal, and repair some broken valves under our bathroom sink. He also installed a kitchen faucet for us without charging extra for the labor.
All of the work was done cleanly and professionally. He had to open up a wall, but he patched it up nicely after fixing the leak.

He also gave us quotes for remodels that we want to do in the future.

He does a lot of different types of work, and hires guys who know what they are doing. I highly recommend him!

A and A arrived on time and completed the work very professionally.  Would not hesitate in using again or recommending to others.  These are good people you want to work with.

My wife and I bought a fixer-upper in Vermont Knolls and one of the many things that needed fixing was the landscaping.  You'd think that it'd be easy to find good landscapers & handymen, but it's actually been quite challenging.  That is, until we found A&A!

There are landscapers and handymen everywhere, but they tend to be flaky or they lack experience.  Alberto shows up on time and is very experienced.  He speaks English well and has a polite and kind nature.  But perhaps most importantly, he and his team do quality work!

I sure wish that we found A&A sooner, but we still have plenty of work that needs to get done, and we plan on hiring Alberto for as many of these tasks as we can :)

I contacted A&A Home Improvement because I had my downstairs shower showing water damage near the entrance. Alberto showed up with his assistant (father) and assessed the situation, he gave me a quote and we agreed on beginning the job. A few hours later, the job was completed... below is the before and after pictures. One caveat, a little over a month after the completion of the job, I started noticing the same problem reoccurring, I once again contacted Alberto and he along with his same assistant came through in a timely manner. He gave me an explanation of why it was reoccurring and he once again patched up the area to my satisfaction. I would highly recommend Alberto and A&A as they take great pride in providing excellent service and workmanship. I would not hesitate in contacting them for any additional work in the future.

Alberto was flexible, friendly and knowledgeable in plumbing and brick work required to get my gas fireplace working. Very impressed with his workmanship.

We had previously removed a water heater from an upstairs closet, which left pipes exposed and a hole in the roof. We hired Alberto to convert the space into a useable closet. He re routed the pipes to go behind the wall and plugged the hole in the roof. He also installed a shelf and paint the wall. The closet can be used properly.

Alberto was on time to give an estimate and then to complete the work. He communicated very well his estimate and time line for completion. He even add a warranty to his work at my request, which requested due to the work involving pipes.

I would recommend Alberto as a handyman for a home project.

We wanted to change our Condo  1900s door lock to a more modern digital key pad, Alberto came, took a look and gave us an estimate, we were scared that with all the wholes on the door the Digital lock wouldn't cover or look good. He did an amazing job and now we can throw away the old keys and open with a numerical code or with out phones. We highly recommend Alberto for your needs. We definitely look forward to working with him as more projects come up in our condo.

Jose and his team are fantastic.  Super communicative, reliable and trustworthy.  They far exceeded my expectations and I will definitely use them again in the future.  The work they did consisted of stucco patching, repainting, replacing wooden window sills and an old wooden door that was undersized (so required enlarging the opening and re-framing).  When we had questions or issues, Jose was quick and committed to resolving them to our satisfaction, and his workmanship was excellent.  He even went above and beyond with extra details that I wasn't expecting when he reframed our door - major bonus!

My wall heater stop working in the middle of the night on a Friday. I call and spoke with Jose on Saturday morning he said would come by in the next hour. Jose arrived less than an hour fix my heater (installed a new thermostat). I would definitely be calling this company in the future.

I'm so glad I found them! I had an emergency pipe leaking and Alberto responded and came by right away. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and started to work on the repairs the same day. At the end of the job, he showed me photos of the repaired pipes and ensured me if anything happens to those pipes, he'll come by and fix it for free. Besides replacing my pipes, he also fixed my wall heater and declogged my kitchen sink drain. I'll definitely keep working with them on my future home improvement projects!

We hired Jose to install a Kitchen counter in our office.  We bought counters from IKEA and he was able to cut and glue the counters to fit our counter exactly.  He also installed a new kitchen faucet and mounted the counter to the wall so that it could be flat and stable.

Would def recommend as a great handyman and also hire him again!

Alberto helped me to install weather strips to my doors. He worked very professionally and paitient. He also made adjustment to the door seals two weeks later after I called him that one of the new weather strip didn't fit very well. He was patient to listen to my concerns and do the best to fulfill my repquirments. He also helped me replace two light bulbs on the ceiling for free! I would highly recommend him to my friends and family.

I had a leaky pipe in my front yard which needed immediate attention. I spoke with Alberto, he gave me a quote over the phone and said he'd be at my place by 4PM. At 3:47, he texted me that he was at Home Depot (which is down the street from my house) picking up the materials. He showed up a little after 4, started working, and was done in 30 min. I really appreciated the accurate quote, update on his ETA, and punctuality. Great customer service and work!

Alberto was very professional and patient with us (our color selection committee was all over the place).  The job was done quickly and cleanly.  I would recommend them for any job big or small.

He was very fairly priced, got things done immediately, was so professional, attentive, reliable and was so great to work with. We are so pleased with the work that Alberto and his father did in installing our new door.  He provided all parts and replaced the frame as well, and even returned to do follow-up work when the weather strip that was applied was a bit stiff, making it a bit challenging for the door to close easily without some force.  The all-inclusive quote seemed high at first, but honestly, for a job done right like this - especially for a critical home feature like a front door - we think it was worth every penny, and we have zero regrets.  Additionally, he was quick to respond, friendly, very personable, and professional.  We will be using him again in the future.

My main line was blocked on Sunday, I called Alberto but he was out of town. So since it was an emergency, I called a rooter company and they said they need to hydro jet the line. Alberto promised to come Monday, so I waited for him . He came exactly on time with his crew, and I told him that I will be home in 15mins. By the time I came home, job was done professionally without any hydro jet. I am so happy I waited as he is honest and I am looking forward to working with him soon.  Thanks Again..You are the best!

We recently hired Alberto to install a new toilet, sink and door (including door molding) for our downstairs bathroom and we could not be more pleased with his work!  Professional, courteous, extremely reliable and responsible.  Walked us through all the steps and did the job perfectly.  When we realized we were missing some parts, he went with us to Home Depot and made sure that we got the right things.  Honestly, couldn't be happier with how everything turned out!  Will definitely hire again on future projects.

Came home to find our shower was leaking water and it needed tp be fixed immediately. we're reached out to A&A and they agreed to come over first thing in the morning.  Albert came over to assess the problem and within an hour our leaked was fixed.  Thank you Albert for coming out so quickly to help us.

I hired Alberto to install new doors and security doors for my recently moved in home.  They did an excellent job and paid attention to the details, including moulding, stucco repair and proper framing.  He was fair and very accommodating to my needs and showed up on time and even finished the job a day earlier.  He works until the job was done and didn't bounce around to other project unlike other contractors/handymen.  excellent work and would hire again!

Yesterday, along with thousands of other Angelenos, I woke to learn that I had a bad leak in the ceiling of my living room.  Problem was, I was renting that living room out to tenants - - in other words, I wasn't suffering the leak, the folks renting my place were, and they were really upset.  Without going into too much detail, suffice to say, Alberto was like a Guardian Angel for me yesterday.  I simply went online and started searching for people to help, and he was the first one to pick up.  Yes, I was impressed by the YELP reviews and what appeared to be real expertise, but one never really knows.  Alberto was creative, budget-conscious and swift.  I'd recommend him to anyone - - not only a highly skilled construction wizard, but a truly innovative problem-solver.  We had a short window to succeed within and he completely came through.  Thank you Alberto!!

These guys are great. I had a clogged washing machine drain I knew I wouldn't be able to get loose without a snake. My only time I could have them to my house was Saturday and they were more then willing to make it out. They took a look at some other stuff for me and came back to stucco the hole they made in my house after too. I highly recommend these guys and definitely give them a shot.

A&A saved my life! A pipe broke in my backyard and Alberto was quick to respond. He was able to fix the pipe and stop the massive amount of water pouring into my backyard. Not to mention he is very nice! Also prices are very reasonable!

Can't say enough about Alberto and A&A Home Improvements. We had an interesting shower door/leaking water/wet drywall situation in our bathroom and Alberto provided a quote through Yelp that was reasonable and he was extremely responsive to our communications before even starting the project. Once we agreed to have him start the project, he provided several different payment structures depending on what he anticipated the project would need, and was very open and transparent about the entire process. The work was done very well and thoroughly, including a minor hitch afterwards that Alberto promptly came and addressed without any hesitation. Looking forward to having these guys as our regular handyman going forward!

Alberto came to our house on a last minute call to take a look at our leaking roof - the next day he came to fix it! His prices were fair and I have to say; his whole team really went above and beyond on the job! We will for sure be using him down the line - great team!

I need someone to help me to setup the Landry unit in my new home. I had talked to couple handyman in the area. Jose is the honestest and nicest handyman i meet. He is very professional and nice for any kind of questions and request. He is also completed my case very nicely, have everything that i want. really really good, and i will work with him again for sure.

Through his experience he found the root cause and provided us with answers and a solution. He was able to accommodate with our schedule and fix our leak in the most speedy way. Alberto is excellent- he did a fantastic job adding water guards to the shower door enclosure in my master & guest bathrooms, and adding knobs to the inside of both glass shower doors so you could close/seal the doors properly once stepping into the shower. Both showers had been giving me trouble for about a year since the original installation or design didn't allow for proper drainage and the water would spill out onto the floor tiles. Called Alberto & he came over the next day, checked it out, then called me later that day with a quote for materials and labor. He sent photos of the different knob options so my husband & I could pick the style we want. We didn't see one we liked, so Alberto came by our house a second time and pulled our shower bar to show his materials vendor & get more options of knobs that would match & would definitely fit. He really went above & beyond! I paid him a 50% deposit so he could order the materials, and the other 50% when he completed the job a few days later. Alberto & his employee did great work, and they were fast, professional, and polite. Alberto was easy to get a hold of on the phone & through texting, and was great at constant communication & updates. I would absolutely recommend these guys for any job- big or small!! I will definitely be calling them the next time I need some work done!!

A&A Home Improvements (Alberto and his Dad) did an GREAT job with my bathroom tile repair project.  They arrived 10 min before the scheduled time which is a huge Plus and even texted to confirm the appointment the day before.  They took out 2 rows of  very old 4x4 tile that went around the bottom of the bathtub that was falling off and very loose and put in the replacement tile.  They are very detailed oriented are want you the customer to really get what you want.  I will use them again!

I usually never post on yelp unless I am extremely happy with the service/ staff of a particular place. If the work or service is mediocre I don't bother posting about it. My husband and I had some home improvements done on our home by the owner of the business and his staff. He was extremely nice and patient with us and took the time to explain what he was doing in detail and the cost of everything. ( which I was happy about since I know nothing about construction or what it entails) I am very happy with the work done on the house. We had an idea of what changes we wanted and thanks to Albert and his team now the visions we had of our dream home are a reality! Thanks again Albert and your team!!!!!

Wonderful workmanship and great service! They showed up on time for the quote and to do the work to fix my roof and the damage done from leaks. They sent pictures of their progress before closing out each day. They even called after the next rain storm to make sure there weren't any leaks or issues. Highly recommended!

Alberto and his team do exceptional work.  He is punctual, courteous, professional, a good communicator and i appreciated him keeping me up-to-date on his progress.  I didn't have to follow-up with him, which i have experienced with other contractors.  His prices are higher, but it is worth it because he gets a quality job performed the first-time.

Alberto and his team are the best. Reliable, knowledgeable and honest. I called him for a quote on my leaking automatic sprinkler controllers and he drove from quite a distance (took over 45 mins) but came on time to our scheduled appointment. He gave me a detailed assessment of the issue and how he would repair it with a reasonable quote. Even though they discovered the issue was more complicated and the corroded metal pipes were beyond repair and needed to be replaced with pvc and dug up from the side of my house, he walked me through it step by step and showed me the corroded pipe that was obviously the problem. He revised the quote to fit the larger job which also seemed fair even though I hadn't expected to spend that much. I felt like I could trust him to do the job right once and for all. Even when I called him later that afternoon because of another unexpected issue after he finished the job, he promptly came by the very next day and did a lot of extra work without charging me more. Alberto and his crew are very professional and care about the quality of their work. He goes above and beyond. Not easy to find these days!

Alberto did a good job repairing the knob mechanism to my bath and shower. Was an older model and took the time to figure it out. Treated my mom with care. Great disposition and communicates any potential issues. Will call in the future.

Alberto and his crew did a fantastic job for the service I requested for.  Had two old air conditioners that needed to be removed from the walls and patched up.  Price of service was good, quality of work was good, time to complete the task was good - everything was good.  I'll definitely be calling him for other house work as needed.

My husband and I were looking to have some minor repairs done around our house that included repairing wall cracks, replacing a couple of exterior doors, putting a pocket door back on the roller, mounting a coat rack, and gluing the molding around the fireplace and kitchen threshold. Alejandro came to our house to give us an estimate. We walked the house and he emailed the estimate a few days later. His estimate was $9800! I replied asking him for a more detailed breakdown of the costs, as I at least wanted to know how much was labor and how much was materials because the estimate seemed very high for the scope of work. I'd also told him I'd purchase the exterior doors separately so I wanted to make sure that was not included in his price. I got no response. I also texted him and got no response. I found this to be very unprofessional. I believe it there was no response, because that estimate could not be justified.It was definitely not $10,000 worth of work. We think he saw our neighborhood and thought he could upsale us. We got an estimate from another company who quoted us $1500, which made a lot more sense and they did a great job.
