Honestly, I would give it a 0 star rating if I could.
I went down to this nursery today with my boss to pick out some plants for the inside and outside of our office. Being it was my first time there, I was more than excited to see all of the lovely plants and animals I had heard about.
My experience was bad from the moment we walked up to the counter. One lady sat on a chair eating food while just blankly looking at us, and the other, a middle aged woman in her at least forties, stood with her back to us. After a minute or two, she finally turns around and walks up to us, saying, What's up? Now it is hot, so I let go the rudeness she had already started to show.
My boss and myself began to explain what we were looking for, and told her we would love recommendations for our outdoor plants, because we wanted something that would actually survive the insane heat of the summer. She was very unenthusiastic and wasn't really giving us any answers to the questions we were asking.
Slightly annoyed, I let them discuss outdoor plants while I looked for the nice indoor plants I am putting by my office. Ten minutes in to me gawking at the parrots and looking at smaller plants, they join me. I had a few questions about a particular type of plant, and she was short, snappy, and even showed the attitude on her face. Like she was my teenage daughter and I made her come work with me. Smiling it off, I thank her and tell them to go start writing everything up while I pick out my plants.
We bring everything to the counter, I go pick out pots, everything is starting to go smoothly. I walk up to where they are writing up my boss's invoice for everything we were purchasing, and noticed they had different prices then the ones she quoted us. I looked around to notice afterwards, there are not any prices posted for any of the plants or pots.
When she handed us an almost Seven Hundred Dollar ($700.00) bill, my jaw dropped. It had ridiculous delivery fees (our office is a literal two minute drive from this nursery) and the planting fees were a little out there as well. We told her we would just come pick up the plants and plant them ourselves, and she regressed back to her teenage self it seemed. She snatched the invoice book off the counter, huffing and puffing the entire time, while dramatically scratching off the parts of our invoice that charged us for the delivery and planting fees.
She charged my boss's card, and I asked her about planting my two smaller plants in the pots we bought for them, seeing as we were taking them immediately. She stared blankly at me, then gave me a refund of just under Twenty Dollars ($20.00). I asked about the planting, and she says with the most attitude thus far, I ask the final question and you guys didn't answer so I assumed you didn't want that either.
Okay, I'm sorry, but we just dropped Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) at your nursery and you are going to be a complete *insert profane language here* to us? As soon as she handed me the cash (which was odd because we used a card), she said Alright bye now. and walked away from us. Didn't offer to help us out, see if we needed anything else, just walked away like some teenage girl who didn't get her way and was finally free from it. Her attitude blew my mind.
Honestly, everyone else there was super friendly and constantly offered me assistance, the animals were phenomenal and the entire nursery itself was rather nice; but her terrible attitude and atrocious service made all of that disappear. This associate's name is Kim. I wish I would have gotten her full name, but by the looks of it they don't have that many employees, so chances are they will hopefully know who this is.
The one reason I am a little hesitant to write this review is because we have still yet to pick up our outdoor plants, and I have this feeling that we might get some dead or dying ones now. That's the reason my boss asked me not to, but after reading previous reviews (that I honestly should have done first) I have noticed a pattern; the customer service there SUCKS. I get it is hot, but hire some people that actually want to work there, not ones who make you feel bad for asking them to do their JOB.
One of the worst parts about it, my boss has been coming to this nursery for YEARS. Way to treat your used to be loyal customers. I truly hope the owners look into this apparently consistent problem they are having with their staff.
