HISTORY

Established in 2010.
Max and Lori chose to utilize their 60 years of combined experience and knowledge in the Home Building/Buying Industries to start Tru Builders.

ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER

Max has been in the business since he was 10, working for his Father who was a Builder that specialized in Custom Homes in Southern California and Northern New Mexico. When Max was 23, he started working for a national home Builder and worked his way up the ladder with a few large companies to where he was in charge of 20 million dollar projects as Development Manager. Max, on his own, has personally developed and built gated communities in Scottsdale & Phoenix and built dozens of custom homes ranging from 2000 to 14,000 s.f. as well as over 100 addition/remodeling projects.

Lori has been in the real estate and lending business since the 80's and has partnered with Max in all aspects for the 30 yrs of their marriage. Lori specializes in the interior design portion and runs the office.

Together they have over 60 yrs of hands-on experience. Max and Lori have lived in the Phoenix Valley for almost 30 yrs. They have 6 children and enjoy time in the sun with family and friends.

My kitchen needed remolded so i called Tru Building and Remodeling.They came and done a great job and I was given great advice on what route to go and wasn't over charged. I didn't think it would be done before Christmas, but it's done and it look amazing. Thank you

Most family owned general contractors keep their license on average 5 years. True Builders has had theirs over 20!

We had them come out and bid turning our office into a bedroom and converting the downstairs powder room into a full bathroom with a walk in shower. This would all be for my mom. With a post tention slab it is going to be a chore, but not one they cannot handle. They are are able to install an elevator for her as well. We also are looking into an option of building a Casita for her out back.

They are license, bonded and insured at all times. They are not tight on funds where they find themselves in a pickle and need to cut costs by cancelling their insurance like many tend to do. This leaves you and your assets at risk if someone should get hurt on the job you will be sued. Our neighbor used them and I couldn't wait to find out how their experience was after walking by and seeing Tru-Buikder's sign up at their house. They were exceptionally pleased.

They are very professional. You name it they can pretty much make it happen if the city allows it. I was very transparent sharing that remodeling is one of a few options we are looking into to make room for mom. The owner was still thoughtful to his time to put a quote together. We will receive it in 2 weeks.

Their reviews and contractors history are very good. Being a general contractor and not a handy man business there is. $25k job minimum. Highly recommend getting a quote from them if you are looking to add on or remodel.

Tru Builders were the only ones of the 5 or so we got bids from that did not try to talk us out of what we wanted so they could something easier. Once we selected them, they communicated regularly about the start and how we would make our selections for fixtures, tile, etc. The process was smooth. When construction started their workers pointed out a way to make the process easier and they worked the change on the fly that day. We are pleased with the work and attention to detail as well as quickly addressing potential issues we pointed out. They were very patient with my questions, always providing a complete answer. If we need this type of work done elsewhere in the house, I won't hesitate getting them to do the work.

Worst contractor I've ever hired to remodel my kitchen. A kitchen remodeling project that according to Max, will only last a week is still not done since a week before Thanksgiving. I celebrated Thanksgiving without a sink in my kitchen but these guys promised me that they would at least get it ready for Thanksgiving. Work quality 1/5, customer service 1/5, pretty much almost every thing about this company is wrong. All they worry about is to collect that check.

These people are very unknowable and overpriced. There are better choices in Surprise. They couldn't even measure my dining room correctly. What an absolute joke.

Max and his crews did a great job on our bar and bedroom remodel. Ran into a few minor hiccups along the way which is expected in a job of this size. Max never squabbled about fixing things right. As contractors go we feel Tru Builders provided quality work at a fair price.

I don't ever post reviews, this could be my 1st! We called with water damage from a leaking water heater, the plumber provided by the warranty company offered a free assessment of the water damage. We didn't realize it, but he contacted a water restoration company that proceeded to frighten us with their fancy meters, about the extent of damage and hard sold us. We called Tru Builders for a second opinion, and we're glad we did! Without saying one negative thing about the other familiar company (a class act with integrity), it later became apparent that the other company was trying to take advantage. Tru Builders immediately came out and began to assess and fix the damage. They showed-up when they said that they would, completed the work in just a few days, respected our home and kept it clean, and they were all very nice! They really did a great job! They are very knowledgeable & professional, work very fast, are super easy to work with, they perform quality workmanship, and they completed the work much faster than what we expected. I will definitely refer others to Tru Builders!

Just completed a master bed and bath remodel with TruBuilders, and was a great experience. They were great partners, from drafting the original design at our kitchen table, to flawless execution and attention to detail. They came in on time and at the quoted budget plus a bit extra added by us. We are already talking about our next project and will definitely use TruBuilders again!

Completely impressed with the work that Tru Builders did for us, whole house flooring. They helped me and my wife pick out the flooring, baseboard and paint. They made the whole process so easy. They have a handy online system that kept all of our job information in one place, they even had photos uploaded to us everyday of the process! Very user friendly. They showed up in a timely manner, even finished a couple days ahead of schedule. You get what you pay for with Tru Builders, their quality of work and professionalism is unbeatable. It was difficult to find a re-modeler that we could trust, Max and his team showed top quality work, can't recommend them enough. Looking forward to working with them again in the future on our bathrooms.

As far as the job that was done by the workers it was fantastic. The workers were on time, conscientious, polite, communicated what they were going to do each day. They did a super job, and as another customer stated, they protected all areas around their work, countertops, newly painted walls, floors, etc. All areas needing cleanup were done upon completion of their work for each day. They worked in a timely manner without cutting corners. We had no problem with the work that was done. However, when it came to dealing with management or office personnel, there was poor communication, calls were not returned in a timely manner, even though we were told we would receive a call back on a certain day. Scheduled times were changed with notice of only one day, that work was to begin the following day. Workers arrived when supervisor said they would, promptly and on time each subsequent day. However, no final walk-through was done by a supervisor at the final completion of the work. We were told by a supervisor on Friday that the work would be completed on Monday morning. No one showed up on Monday morning, so we made a call to find out where they were. Told that there was another project that needed completing. Then were told the worker would be here at 2 pm. The worker showed up promptly and completed the install of the dimmer and chip LED lights. The supervisor was to come by and do a walk-through later that afternoon. We received no time of arrival, and never received a call telling us that no one would be here to walk through so we were left waiting as we had every day the week prior to see when we were going to be scheduled for our job. Again, no complaints regarding the workers, or their work. It was top-notch and superior, but it was more than frustrating and not professional to deal with the office staff telling us one thing, and promising return calls from the primary supervisor and then never hearing anything back. A younger supervisor had dropped in on Friday, and he was professional and friendly and checked on the work thus far. However, the primary supervisor responsible for our job did a poor job. His part of the communication process was poor and not professional in our view.
