I am very happy with the Sunsolar Solutions they got the solar panels on quickly and I really enjoyed Quinn keeping in touch with me ..

We have been researching companies for several months and had always wanted to install solar. We talked to multiple companies, trying to figure out which would be the best fit for our needs. After speaking with a number of different companies we came to the decision that Sunsolar Solutions was one of the better options that are available at the time.  The process was straightforward from beginning to end. The company installed the solar panels very quickly and there was a slight delay, turning on the solar panels due to issues with the permit with the city due to the initial placement of the box. They kept constant communication throughout the process and notified me of any delays they were facing, and what they did to resolve.  Once all the permits were straightened out, I didn't find any other issues. The solar panels have been there silently producing electricity. At the end of the first year we received a check of over $200 which we sent back to the solar panels to help pay off the loan a little bit faster. Overall experience was pleasant.

While purchase and installation with SunSolar Solutions went as well as can be expected given the delays in permitting by the City of Phoenix and APS final sign-off to go live, my 3-star rating is associated entirely with their chosen finance provided, Dividend Finance.
Since the final installation of my project, dealing with Dividend has been nothing short of a train wreck.
Their payment portal is often down or simply won't accept the challenge question responses or passwords despite multiple attempts and the correct cookie settings.  Then once you are finally able to log in, any payments you make in advance of your monthly payment go directly to Dividend's finance charges.  In fact, Dividend doesn't even afford you the ability to pay ahead as they won't post the next month's charges until almost midway thru the month with a due date of the 1st.

As far as customer service with Dividend, don't bother.  I've emailed them several times attempting to figure out why its so difficult to access my online account and they simply don't respond.  A check of the Better Business Bureau's website reveals similar reviews from dozens of Dividend customers.

Bottom line, fine experience with Solsolar Solutions but their finance partner will cause you headaches from the first day your panels go live.

It's been about 2 months now since the system was finally up and running to it's a bit early to tell if this investment will work out of not.  Summer will be the true test.

The entire process took over 6 months to complete.  Not all of the delays were created or caused by Sun Solar.  You are dependent on the City of Peoria, the power company, and your HOA if required.  It felt to me like there were some delays at the APS level but overall, the design and approval process was as explained.

My reason for a low rating really reflects my frustration levels with the customer advocacy and scheduling process.  The person assigned to be my advocate did not have any insights or calendaring for scheduling visits to my house. I would get a call that said we are coming out on Thursday, with no time frame.  If I said I could not be home that day, they could not give me another date, that process would require a follow up phone call.  They wouldn't even ask when I was going to be home.

The original appointment was set for a Thursday/Friday.  The day before I got a call saying they wanted to confirm my appointment for the following week.  When I asked what happened to my appointment for tomorrow, the response was, "I have no idea".

This type of communication strategy continued until the end.  I had a couple of conversations that I am not proud of but it was very frustrating to hear that my advocate has not insights into scheduling.  I hope someone was able to get past my aggressive approach to find a way to improve in this area.

Here are some helpful tips you might consider.
1. Ask if they have ever installed solar on your model of home, have the look in the attic before signing any contract.  The original design had to be changed due to the way the home was constructed.
2. Ask them to confirm all appointments in writing, either via email or text.  This was not consistent.
3. Ask them if the installation crew can all an hour before planned arrival, I had spent several days at home all day to finally call after 3:30pm to find that no one was coming that day.
4. Ask about the process for covering payments if this is financed, if it takes more than a few months your Solar will not be working but you will be expected to pay the loan, Sun Solar will help you with that if it happens to you.

I don't think I've ever been so unimpressed by a company rated 4 stars overall on yelp.  This is the only company that refused to give any kind of numbers without a face to face meeting.  I agreed to meet and they didn't have the proposal ready to share until the meeting was already half over, even though I had shared all the information and photos they had requested ahead of time.  Very unorganized and spent a significant amount of time sharing how their company was different from others, all the while talking about things that in my experience getting quotes just this week don't actually differentiate them--what they state other companies don't offer were actually offered by every other company I've spoken with. Seems they haven't redone their market research to see how they are different from their competitors very recently.

If you are going to require that customers meet with you to get information, please have enough respect for their time to have your proposal ready in advance of the meeting.

Update: Within 5 minutes of posting this review I received a call from Chris, who Seth the sales rep I met with reports to, threatening to get an attorney involved.  He had no interest in getting more information to see how his team could learn from the experience and ensure future customers don't go through the same thing and have the same frustration.  I think that says a lot! I will not be changing my review even though he has threatened me as nothing I have stated is untrue and I personally rely heavily on yelp reviews to make decisions when choosing companies to do business with, and I think it is very important for potential clients to read about all experiences, both positive and negative to inform their decisions.

Reply to Val: I appreciate your response and reaction to my review as it is far more professional than what I received from Chris. In regards to the proposal, I did request it via email in an attempt to save everyone a bit of time if it wasn't in the ballpark, but I was not upset that a meeting was required.  My exact reply was "Alrighty, how about 11?" Not sure how he interpreted that as "very upset." There was never a timeframe put on the meeting, but regardless of if it was supposed to be a 30 minutes or an hour, everything should have been ready prior to the start of it. And there is ZERO excuse for a manager to have called me making threats.

From the salesman to the office manger customer service is not what they care about. They only care about getting their money and than no follow up or call backs.

Robert ( salesman) not educated enough in solar or the contract with Dividend. He straight out lies to you about what is to happen. Never follows through to make sure things are working as such, and never makes a call to check on his customer.

Chris ( manger of sorts ) lies about follow up and gives excuses as to why no follow up or action.

Danielle ( manager ) doesn't know what her employees under her have said or promised. Continues to make excuses for the employees. Doesn't care much about customer satisfaction or making the whole.

Which leaves the Owner -- they're either completely absent from this business or trained their employees to not care about follow up, follow through with promises, and basic customer service.

With all these facts in place, I highly recommend to NEVER use this company if you expect any standards ( for the amount you pay should be high standards ) of customer service.

My name Is Jesse Norfleet and I wanted to share my experience with you in regards to an installer named
Daniel Hinojosa who is one of the installers for Sunsolar solutions .
He delivered 100% customer service. I felt compelled to leave this review. I have been in upper management with two different companies and always struggled to find good hard working employees like Daniel . I could feel that he cares for the homeowners
It's my hope this company realizes what an example of a great employee he is .
He was always attentive to our needs .

I recently had the pleasure of working with Sun Solar Solutions for the installation of solar panels on my home. From start to finish, their team provided exceptional service and support throughout the entire process.
Their team was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions in a professional and timely manner. They thoroughly explained the entire process, from the initial consultation to the installation of the panels, and even the post-installation follow-up. They were patient and ensured that I understood every aspect of the project.
The installation team was efficient, respectful, and professional. They took great care in ensuring that the panels were installed correctly and that everything was cleaned up once they were finished. I was impressed with the quality of their workmanship and the attention to detail they exhibited.
Since the installation, my electricity bills have significantly decreased, and I'm so pleased with the performance of my new system! The entire experience with Sun Solar Solutions was a positive one, and I highly recommend them to anyone considering solar panel installation for their home. Thank you for a job well done!

Sunsolar was really great to work with. Troy came out to speak with us about our options. He didn't just speak to my husband, he made me feel equally heard and that was appreciated. He was very informative and answered all our questions without wasting our time.

Rachel was great at keeping us informed throughout the entire installation process, right up to the point where our panels were activated.

We chose to purchase vs. lease (same warranties and guarantees) and they offer plenty of loan option for qualified buyers. The process was seamless and will prove to be financially beneficial after the tax credits and rebates we will receive.

I would highly recommend using them for all of your solar needs.

It's been more than 3 months since my app stopped working and the only answer I got from SunSolar is that they are monitoring it.  They asked me to call SolarEdge customer service to get updates on the communication card in my inverter that stopped working. Sunsolar is not an actual company they are the installers who buy parts from different companies. They are at the mercy of SolarEdge and Solar panel company to fix if anything goes wrong with your system. Please stay away from this business at all costs.

I signed up with Sunsolar Solutions in August. In September they turned the AC temp way down and then turned on everything in the house simultaneously for AN HOUR. I later found out that what they were actually doing was manipulating my usage. Apparently the system they sold me was so oversized that APS would never have approved the solar considering the energy that my house uses. I am trying to cancel my contract and they are saying that they are going to charge me $4,300 to do so.

To try and prevent me from cancelling, they were willing to reduce the price of the system by $3,000 which is admitting that they were overcharged me in the first place. Stay away from this company. They saw a new homeowner as an opportunity to over sell and over charge.

10/17/22 UPDATE

I maintain that SunSolar Solutions (SSS) has NOT performed its work in a "workmanship manner".  Which means "means to do it skillfully, adequately, and following community standards. In a nutshell, it means that the work must be of good and acceptable quality."

  a) 300-400 cement roof tiles were broken by their installation crew.  SSS' president stated that happened because there was a manufacturer's defect in the tiles as if he knows the exact cement mix the manufacturer used.  Perhaps he did not train his crew on how to walk on flat roof tile & they walked on the center of the tile where there would be the most deflection of the tile & a greater possibility of breakage.  In addition, Our house is brand new, we moved in as soon as it was ready on June 10, 2022.  The roofing was completed in February 2022 and SSS knew that this is a new subdivision.  But the president also told us that the roofing tile had not yet been cured and that was a factor that led to the brittleness of the tiles.  If that were the case, then why would they even attempt the installation?

  b) Several tiles under the edges of the array have in fact been broken despite what the president states, which would indicate that the installation crew attempted to cover up the damage.  There might be more under the various arrays.

  c) The roof warranty has been voided.

  d) Roof tiles shards continue to fall off the roof onto the driveway and side yard after heavy rain/wind storms.

  e) The roof underlayment is exposed to the deteriorating effects of the Arizona sun, wind, and rain.

   f) The SSS foreman reported that 30-40 roof tiles were damaged.  Their roofing subcontractor, 3 weeks after the installation, brought 100 tiles based on that estimate of damage.  The roofing subcontractor stated at that time that he needed another 300 tiles.  Either the SOS foreman lied or was negligent, especially if he did not get up on the roof to inspect the roof damage & the panel installation.

This has caused undue delays as we were informed that it would be 3-4 months before they can receive the roof tiles.  They did not ask for the manufacturer's name or the model/color of the tiles.  I wonder what they will come up with.  As it stands, there are now two distinct colors of tile on my roof, the original & what their roofing subcontractor provided.

The contract also states that "The third payment, in the amount of $16,711.59 is due when the installation is complete and the system has passed inspection with the AHJ."  But I maintain that even though the Building Inspector approved the solar system, he also left a "Notice to Correct" for SSS to restore the missing roof tiles.  So the installation is not complete.

I just want to cancel the contract but the SSS president states he will put a lien on my home.  But their contract specifically states,  "The customer acknowledges that canceling this contract beyond the contract period will result in a cancellation fee equal to 10% of the signed contract amount as an estimate of actual damages and not as a penalty." And yet, I am being threatened by a lien.  Amazing!

"Caveat emptor".  Let the buyer beware when thinking about using SunSolar Solutions.

I did my research for solar companies and chose these guys based off customer reviews and I'm sure glad I did!! The overall process was great from start to finish, not to mention the incentives offered at the time of signing were awesome as well!
Very streamlined process from Troy coming out explaining everything at the beginning to the flip of the switch at the end. Project Manager Chris was very communicative and the install crew were very professional and did a great job. The install crew also is very knowledgeable and there are always endless questions the customer(me) seems to come up with.
Although my roof isn't big enough to be 100% on solar I'm still enjoying the fact that I'm not paying APS for all the fees and other non-sense billing they add on. Make a difference and go solar.

Great Job! Go Solar!

Very Disappointing experience with the sales presentation. Sales person used profanity was chewing gum like a cow.  Once we got past the rudeness and unprofessionalism like the material and some of the numbers but question to professionalism of the company if they have sales people like this will keep shopping for another company.

Final update: the CEO of SunSolar stepped in and backed out costs incurred in my final payment.  Very much appreciate the ownership and prompt response.

------

It's been a few weeks, and I'm downgrading my previous review by one star due to SunSolar's lackluster response and ownership of the problem they created.

Over the course of a couple of weeks, I pinged my project manager every few days and received the same update that he was working to get me on the service team's schedule as they were very busy.  It made me wonder why they were so busy - were repairs after installation common?  I've never had an issue with three previous installs.

I eventually gave up on SunSolar and hired a licensed roofing contractor who actually found 10 broken tiles.  I paid $747 out of my own pocket to correct SunSolar's error.  Ironically, I received a request from their office manager today asking for final payment.  Will they do the right thing and reimburse me for the issue they created?

In short, I'd grade SunSolar...
Sales & design: A
Permitting: A (super fast!)
Installation: C (have never had any damage from a solar install)
Product: B (I paid for valances but only received wire bird mesh)
Service: B (thanks for doing the right thing!)

I got my house about two years ago and after living in the house decided to go with sun solar to put solar on my house. About 6 months afterwards found we were still having $200-$300 electric bills. Had them complete a study on it and kept getting the news that everything is working and no one could answer the question of why I'm still having high bills. After a year did another study and same thing no reason to why I'm still having high bills besides my usage increased from when they sold me the service. MY HOUSE WAS BRAND NEW THERE WAS NO PRIOR HISTORY. When asking if this was an issue I was ensured multiple times they knew what they were doing and obviously not. After this last study I was told a sales man would contact me to try and get it taken care of and nothing yet. This company is unprofessional and doesn't like to honor what they sell. It has been nothing but a nightmare for my wife and I not only do we have a higher electric bill we also have a payment for solar that doesn't benefit us. I was so happy when I got solar I even recommend them to my neighbors and a few went with them and it was nothing but nightmares for them as well and even had one of the workers fall through my neighbors roof and took almost a year to get the drywall repaired. No rush to get anything fixed after their installed and working sunsolar washes the hands from you as a customer.

Based on my husband's experience, he recommends to exercise caution when considering this company. The sales rep, who is an employee of SunSolar, falsely advertised that we would have a 10-day cancellation instead of 3-day. Besides that, when we had to cancel due to other issues in the home, the rep became unresponsive and after repeated attempts to get clarification, I reached out to SunSolar directly and went through another two to three weeks of back and forth where it was frankly very difficult to get them to email me back. Almost all communication was verbal, and even after I requested that they email as I also work during the week, they insisted on calling. This made it much more difficult to keep a record of what they claimed throughout the process, and has caused quite a headache, not to mention that this was probably in hindsight a purposeful tactic to avoid having anything on paper or record.

For such a huge investment on your home, it is probably not worth contracting with a company who is anything less than completely transparent--to this day we never received a clear answer as to what services or paperwork were accomplished that necessitates the cancellation fee when no work was started or done (due to pending roofwork). There is a clear lack of communication as occasionally some project person reaches out asking for updates--we have deferred responses until we can get legal clarification. While the company people are friendly, based on this experience, my husband and I cannot in good conscience say they are completely honest.

Not every process is an especially easy one. Everything requires its time and if are patient with the process I can guarantee you will be very happy with the outcome.

I am absolutely pleased beyond any expectations. I met Rob at a home show at State Farm Stadium, and he was the greatest.  The tax benefits I received were amazing, as well as the fact that I am collecting some fairly large credits from the electric company.  I would highly recommend Sunsolar Solutions, and if I were you, I would ask for Rob to tell you about.

The install process was terrible. Panels left in my backyard for days collecting dust. I was told it should have taken 2 days well it actually took a little over two weeks. Still has not been approved by APS. My panels have been installed for a month now and I still can not use them. The worst part for me was overhearing the workers talk about how the were not going to seal the holes on my roof because the company did not want to pay them their wages. Wow! What a sorry excuse for a "company."

I would highly recommend this company and here's why:

Initial sales call and design - We went with Sunsolar Solutions because one of our neighbors used this company and had nothing but great things to say about them.  When the sales rep showed up he went over our thoughts on what we needed based on the preliminary info we had given to the company earlier over the phone.  We discussed different generating scenarios (fancy words for just how much electricity you use or will use during the year and what that installation would look like on your house.  I wanted to future proof the house for a planned electric vehicle some time in the future along with being able to turn up the AC to any darn temp I want!  For our specific installation I oversized knowing that I'd rather pay a little more now for all the panels than later have to add more.  He showed us a diagram of how that would look on our roof and after rearranging some of the panels so they didn't show from the street we discussed the specifics of the panels (manufacturer, etc.), the inverter and the optimizers.  Having done a lot of homework prior to his visit (yes, I was an engineer and although I think she's wrong my wife says I might have a bit of OCD...) was quite happy with all of the equipment that they were going to use on our installation (they use top of the line components!).  Okay, a hint was that I had to stop gushing over their choice of equipment, I think my wife was getting jealous.

Financing - We went with the company that Sunsolar recommended, Goodleap.  Yes, the systems are expensive and while we could have paid cash for the system the interest rate was so good it didn't make sense to not finance it.  Working with Goodleap was so easy and seamless to the entire solar installation.  And for once, using their website, setting up auto payments and the like actually worked the first time!

Installation - I wish I could remember the names of each of the installers, they were that good and bonus points, they appeared to not mind me watching parts of the install and answering my dozen (or so, but who's counting) questions.  They are the best, treating my house like they were installing the system on their own house.  They kept me informed on the next steps, cleaned up after themselves (I kid you not), arrived on time and yes I could go on but again my wife is looking at me now and just shaking her head.

Communication and follow up after installation - One of my pet peeves is that once you sign up for something to be done by a company they leave you in the dark but not Sunsolar.  I was getting weekly text messages from them start to finish and if I had a question they responded within one day.  Try and find that type of customer service somewhere else!

Bottom line, we had a great experience with Sunsolar and one of my new hobbies is to go out and watch the electric meter run backwards.  Geez, I can't wait for summer to chill the house down to a proper 65 degrees...

Matt Sodt came out to explain everything about going solar. He was very personable, trustworthy, knowledgeable, and answered all our questions. He was able to get a specific system designed for our house during our meeting, went through a few different system  options and helped us make an informed decision that we are most comfortable with. He was very detailed in explaining the process from start to finish. I have always been skeptical about solar but after meeting with Matt, I'm looking forward to making this change. Thank you Matt.

My experience with Sunsolar Solutions was outstanding from start to finish.I highly recommend contacting Frank Estrada and Rick Diaz to answer any question you might have. Made A Great Decision!
Getting solar panels was a No-Brainer. WHO to get those panels from was the big decision. We chose SunSolar Solutions and are very satisfied with our decision! We wanted a company that was focused on solar systems and not other services like security or pest control. Sal and Art met with us to design our system and educate us about the costs of solar. Art was able to work with us to adjust our original estimate to get us the exact system that fit our needs and our budget!! Once the process was started, Rachael and Chris guided us through the permitting and installation process. The installers were friendly, efficient, and cleaned everything up as soon as they were done. There were inspection and permitting delays (mostly due to the City and APS), and even a defective optimizer on one of the solar panels, however Rachael was there to help and always kept us in the loop. She worked to make sure that EVERYTHING was resolved to our satisfaction. Now that our solar system is up-and-running, we've seen immediate savings on our electric bill! I have a smart phone app that lets me proactively monitor my solar system and I am confident that SunSolar Solutions will continue to provide their outstanding customer service for the life of our solar system.

Having done my own research on solar energy  I decided to invite three local companies in the bidding process to install a system for my new home in Surprise. Each company was given equal time and opportunity to win us over, and let the best company win my business.  SunSolar Solutions was one of the companies invited for the process.  They responded quickly to my request for proposal and having obtained a history of my energy consumption they sent a sales rep within 24 hours to propose a system specifically designed for us and our needs.
A rep showed up, educated us to the nuances of solar energy for the home, the company whom he worked for, and the process and benefits of the system he was proposing.  Having covered that he proposed a system almost twice of what I needed, both in size and cost in comparison to the research I had done and proposals from other providers.
I thanked him for his time and asked him to email me a copy of his proposal for review, after all maybe his proposal and system was better than the rest?    He said he would email a copy and on his way out, perhaps sensing that I wasn't overly enthusiastic of his proposed system offered me "perhaps a better deal", but I would have to call him the next day to find out what that better deal was.  This was very peculiar to me, if he had a "better deal" for me why do I have to contact him, and why would his best deal be second priority in his presentation?
I never did contact him for that better deal, significantly he never contacted me to follow up, nor did he ever send me a hard copy of his proposal as I requested.
SunSolar Solutions was not the solution for my solar energy needs.

We met with a salesman who was very nice and took the time to explain everything to us. We read over the contract and a few days later agreed to it. At first everything was going good until the first instillation crew. That crew left many projects unfinished and we had no follow up until I contacted the company to inquire about the incomplete job. We had an appointment with the power company to install a new breaker box to fit the solar we had "installed". The day of our appointment the power company arrived (5 min early) and waited for about 30 minutes. Sun Solar didn't arrive for several hours so the breaker box install was never completed and we were moved to the bottom of the APS wait list which ended up being about 3 months. The second crew came out along with a quality control inspector for the company and pointed out incomplete and improperly installed solar panels. The second crew then replaced tiles with black when roof is brown. Finally got a new breaker box install date for a Monday and the Friday before we get a call from our representative, after 5PM when all managers, supervisors and anyone in charge are already gone for the weekend, who told us they had to cancel and they didn't have a new date. The following week a "manager" called us and the excuse they gave was that a contractor went into their yard and took nothing except our breaker box. Again, the company failed so now we have to get pushed to the bottom of the list. Again, not due to anything we or APS have done. We have a new install date so we will see how that goes.

I have reached out to management and upper management to try and resolve all these issues at the lowest possible level but they either respond and say they will "look into it" (Same response each time, when we get one.  How many times are you going to give that response instead of actually looking into it and making some sort of effort to actually resolve it?) or completely ignore us and shine us on. Due to these excessive delays we have been unable to do electrical upgrades in our garage which is how we power tools to help earn income for our family so we are loosing out on money with each passing day.

Overall the lack of communication, work ethic and customer service is terrible despite us purchasing a $45,000 system with cash which we have already paid half of and we still can't get clear answers or explanations from anyone there. I am surprised a company with good reviews would treat their customers this way. I would stay away if you can but if not document everything that happens with this company.

When you are in the process of buying their product they tell you if birds become a problem under your panels they will put bird netting free of charge. My panels were installed in October 2021 and by January/February  I had pigeons using the space under my panels as their sleeping quarters. The pigeons are up there every night not occasionally. I have gone back and for with customer service and nothing. I am now preparing to get quotes from another company to do for me what Sunsolar Solutions said they would do but failed to do. If you decide to get solar from them force them as a condition to purchase that netting is done on installation otherwise you will never get it. In the alternative you can always skip this company and go elsewhere.

Sunsolar installed my panels in July, they had explained that you would get a tax credit at the end of the year and can be used to pay off some of your loan. You agree on an amt financed but if the tax credit does not get used towards it, your monthly payment changes. So how can a company advertise a tax break and expect to keep the original monthly pay when you do not receive the tax break. I honestly think solar isn't worth it, you have a loan against your house that's for about 20 years and now can take longer to pay off than your actual mortgage. Try a different company or do your research first. The state of AZ is looking to remove this tax break soon if you end up getting some back for this so called " tax credit"  this was a rip off.

I was referred to sunsolar by a co worker and I've always had my doubts about solar. After finally setting up a meeting with my sales rep (Juan) he had answered every question I had honestly and even looked over a few quotes I've had with other solar companies. I decided to go with sunsolar because of the friendliness. The communication and the honesty from Juan. I would highly recommend at least having a sit down with Juan so he can answer any questions or concerns you might have and he will be straight forward with you. No pushy sales guy stuff either.

I'll start by saying that my experience is "in progress", and the current rating I've assigned reflects my overall experience to date.

Sales Process

Aaron Kharkoff is extremely knowledgeable and answered the many questions I had. Highly recommend.

One thing to note: consumption monitoring is not included with the solaredge app as part of the standard install. It is an extra cost that I found out after the fact. Aaron was able to have SunSolar cover a portion of the additional cost, but wish this was communicated during the sales process so that expectations were aligned with reality.

Installation

While the install team was very friendly and arrived on time. The one thing that was poorly communicated during the sales process and at the time of install was that tiles would be broken, and that they would need to come back to replace tiles. Having to see a patch of tiles missing from the side of the house opposite of the panels was unsettling; for context, what they do is pull tiles from the side of the house that's easily accessible so that when they come back with the replacement tiles, they can easily install without needing to pull back any panels.

As of today, it's been over a month since the install, and tiles are still "on order".

As mentioned above in my comments re: the sales process, since consumption monitoring was not included, a tech needed to come back out to install an additional meter. This is a current pain point which is weighing down the rating of my review for SunSolar. Once the items below have been addressed, I will adjust my rating accordingly:

1. Quality of install was not up to par. There are wires exposed which I imagine is not ideal, especially with the winds and rain that we can get here in AZ.

2. While a consumption meter was installed, I'm still not seeing any consumption data. There has not been any communication around anything more I need to do from my end or when the data would become available after the meter was installed, therefore I'm left to believe that the install was not done correctly.

3. The tech arrived late, and because of that, the only way for them to access our breaker (because I'd already left my home) was to cut our lock. When the tech arrived at our home, he hit the doorbell and I was able to connect with him via our Ring doorbell. I let him know that we were expecting him earlier (service window was 1-3pm; tech arrived after 5pm), and that there's a lock on the breaker, and to let me know if he had any issues working around that. The tech proceeded with cutting the lock without first communicating the need to do so. Again, while I wasn't home, I was reachable via Ring. It's not about the $10 lock, but just the lack of punctuality and communication. If you're going to show up to a job late, at least let your customer know vs. showing up two hours later than planned and needing to break things, and then the customer coming home to find what appears to be a sub-par wiring job (photo included) and a missing lock.

This review is in progress, obviously. Aaron, while strictly the sales guy, has gone above and beyond to make things right, and I appreciate him for that.

Overall, I recommend SunSolar, but there are some opportunities for improving the communication process and capabilities of the SolarEdge app.

If you have been thinking about solar you have to call my guy! With the information he gave me I was sold. Definitely not high pressure. He's fluent in both Spanish and English. I was very comfortable inviting him into my home. You don't want to wait for reasons I'll let him tell you.

Sun Solar sales people came over and gave my wife and I the pitch. It sounded good, however I was not willing to sign without checking the details first.
The closer became very agitated at my refusal to sign and eventually left in a huff.
Anyway, I discovered there is a balloon payment (they did not disclose) about half way into the contract.
Very unethical and I would not recommend these sleaze bags.

This company is a joke. Let me tell you what just happened to us... This will sound insane because IT IS.... they rang my door bell and when I opened the door there were literally 30 people in my yard, on my driveway, and on the sidewalk cheering for us. They all had their phones pointed at me and there were a few professional camera setups. They proceed to tell me I won some free solar setup that only one house wins a year. I seriously thought I actually won this... what a joke... I'm not kidding you THIRTY people on our property clapping and cheering for us telling us we just won this free solar setup. After they left my husband was skeptical so he did some digging. He found a Facebook LIVE video of us where they streamed the entire thing explaining it as a marketing tactic. We were PLAYED! So I hopped in my car and drove down our street and found them at my neighbors house doing the SAME THING!!! They went door to door telling everyone they won a free solar setup. WOW! Shame on you people!!! Do not buy from this shady company.

I just want them to delete the video of us, my newborn son is the center of the video and it makes me incredibly uncomfortable. We do not consent to the use of us or our son in any of your SLIMEY MARKETING SCHEMES!!

After I had a terrible experience with a rep from this company, I told them to stop and that they would not get my business since they can't provide a quote. They proceeded to send me a 6 paragraph letter as a text still without a quote. I blocked their number. Well I got a call from someone who sounded EXACTLY like the rep saying that they are the manager and could they get more feedback. Then he proceeded to tell me how great this rep was and kept interrupting me. When I called him out on trying to sell me he denied it but had no interest in any feedback. Thank goodness I did not choose such a horrendous company to install something for 50 to 80 thousand dollars for 20 or 30 years.  If this is how they treat a potential customer in 2 weeks how do they treat you after they get a signature? These are old school vultures out to get your cash with no regard for decency or ethics.

Scott and Troy made our experience great.  My husband and I have always been both hesitant and interested in Solar. Scott and Troy presented all the data and numbers and answered all of our many questions. The process from start to finish was rather quick. Even with a few bumps in the road, Scott and Troy acted immediately to resolve any issues and ALWAYS made it right. I would recommend both Sun Solar and Scott and Troy to anyone and everyone!!!

This was the most horrible experience from the beginning.  I would tell everyone to run away as fast as you can if you can now! Don't listen to "what they will do for you" because it becomes smoke and mirrors! Bottom line they just want your money. Worst decision of my 50+ plus years. Please don't make the same mistake i have made.

I received a quote from Michael O'Donnell the owner. He was very very persuasive he had promised me I was going to only receive a bill from APS just taxes only. And I would receive a bill from Sun Run for $190. Turns out after I received a lease and he welshed on his deal after he had told me if my solar wasn't producing enough they would add more power panels due to their warranty. No his staff is being very ignorant and rude to me and he has not responded back to resolve this issue. I have all the text messages and emails from him stating the same exact thing I would have to wait a year and I would start seeing my savings I have not seen much in my savings. I was told by his death if I wanted to save more that would be addition of cost. Why would I pay additional cost if this was taken care of in the first place. I will go out of my way and I will stand in front of your company and I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I will notify everyone I can how he handles business. I was strongly suggest him to give me a call and make this right or I will take all my emails and text messages and persecute him in court. And I have the power to do this as I have all the evidence from his text messages and email. The installers came in OK also we're running up and down my roof and they were going to say that they can make it into my pool. And they were going to make bets on if they could make it or not. This is another liability as a homeowner especially if somebody was to actually do it and harmed ourselves. They also damage some of my roof which was taken care of by Michael Donnell. However they were tearing everything up on my roof. Causing a lot of chaos and distraction and they were throwing all the materials away saving them in my driveway which I did and I complain about it and also cost me to get a flat tire on my car.

Not happy with this company.  At the time of signing our contract approximately the first week of July, we were told that our system should be up and running by the first or second week in October.  It is now December 4th and the construction crew just arrived this morning to make corrections for the third  time as the system was not approved by the city of Peoria.  Who knows if it will pass this time.  I don't.

I am not sure if some of the somewhat negative reviews people have posted are even are talking about the SunSolar Solutions whose main business office is in Peoria, AZ! I say this because this does not reflect the 5 STAR experience we have had. They have just been marvelous thus far!

We live in Marana, north of Tucson. We had 4 solar company quotes and spent about 2 hours with each appointment. By and far, SunSolar Solutions was the best choice for us. I felt they were the most honest, the most informative and knowledgeable of their product, and had the most low-key sales approach of all four.

Our Salesman was just the greatest guy - Juan Ordonez - took the time to simplify and explain all about the equipment, about where they would put the panels, and answered every one of my husband's upteen questions. We told him we wouldn't sign right away, that we wanted to think about it. He understood. The next day we called and asked Juan to come back to our house, which he did, and he answered a few more questions, and we signed on June 2.

We were immediately assigned our own personal customer service person and given his name and phone #. He would keep us informed of how everything was proceeding and schedule for our install, and/or call with any questions we might have. Chris kept us in the loop, and when we wanted an update we would call and talk to him or if unavailable he would always return our call and answer our question.

The pre-plans and approvals needed before the install could happen were quick. Our Solar System was installed on June 30. There were 3 nice installers who worked hard and installed the system in one HOT day. Now we will have to wait on the County inspection and the Electric company inspection before we are hooked up by the electric company to their grid so we can be up and running.

SunSolar has just been great. No complaints what-so-ever!  5 HUGE HUGE STARS!

And also Juan, our salesman, deserves a more special shout-out for contacting and reaching out to us several times - even AFTER we signed the contract, saying he was tracking the progress of our installation and letting us know if we had any questions, please call or email him. He didn't have to do that.

This whole experience has been wonderful. I am so glad we chose to go with SunSolar Solutions, out of Peoria, AZ. Would recommend them highly!

My wife and I finally decided after hearing about it for years to do some research into solar. We had a flyer from Sun Solar and contacted their company to find out more. Little did we know that the world of solar is far more complicated than it needs to be, and fortunately that is beyond Sun Solar's control thanks to new APS regulations. Throughout our process of transitioning to solar, my wife and I have both developed a strong disliking for APS. They are very greedy and just recently paid off some politicians who voted in favor of yet another rate hike. That is where the benefits of solar come in.

As of 05/29/18, our solar system is finally activated and operational, roughly seven months after we initiated the process with Sun Solar. To be fair, we changed our design close to the installation date, so things somewhat started over. But expect about a 6-month timeline from start to finish.

We were not impressed with our sales reps, and ended up having to do a LOT of additional research. We almost made the mistake of purchasing our panels instead of leasing. The majority of homeowners lease their panels instead of purchasing because it is far less costly and tax incentives for purchases are dwindling. Just know if you are thinking about purchasing, the tax break is only an offset, not a refund. So it only makes sense to purchase if you typically owe several thousand dollars in taxes every year. While leasing is typically not a smart financial decision generally, your alternative is to lease power from APS. So by going solar, you're simply leasing power from another company.

We decided to go with 130% offset for our 1900 square-foot single-story home. With us committing to a 20 year lease, we wanted plenty of extra energy if and when our consumption goes up. We are locked in at a rate cheaper than we were paying to APS, with a 2% escalator each year. Given the average rate increases from our power company, 2% is not much.

On paper, we are seeing minimal savings, but as long as we use the same amount of energy, our extra energy production will be sold back to APS each month. At the end of the year we will receive a check for any extra energy (after APS's monthly fees for still being connected to their grid). So we either have the option of running our AC very cold all day long, or keeping things the same and ending up with a nice bonus each December.

If you were thinking about going solar, just know it will take a lot of time and research. While solar used to be a lot better in Arizona, it is still not a bad option.

Pros:

1. Same payment every month
2. Extra energy to use without increased payment
3. Extra money at the end of the year for what we didn't use that calendar year
4. Environmentally-friendly
5. Cheaper, even with 130% offset
6. Increased home value

Cons:

1. Extra energy is no longer stored in an 'energy bank', instead it is sold back to APS each month. This means in the summer months when it's hard to keep up with the demand, you can only use what you produced that month.

2. APS charges anywhere from $20-$70 each month in fees, even if you don't draw a single kilowatt from their grid

3. There are still peak hours with solar. What you produce off-peak can only be used off-peak. What you produce on peak can only be used on peak. So you still need to be mindful between 3 PM and 8 PM.

Keeping in touch with Sun Solar was a headache almost every time. While they over-communicated each step, they were not always accurate. Appointment times were off, and we had to escalate a few different things to get stuff done. Our initial sales representative was slow and placed almost no priority on our project. With that being said, we did receive a $1000 rebate from the president of the company for going solar, so that made up for most of the annoyance.

It is also important to keep in mind a lot of what goes on with solar has almost nothing to do with Sun Solar themselves. It is a coordinated effort between the city, your power company, the solar panel provider, and the installer. Sun Solar is simply relaying the message each step of the way. Even though we had very little involvement with the city, the installer, and the panel provider, our interactions with them went well.

The installation of the panels went great. We also got bird netting installed for free. We have somebody coming out in the next few days to help us set up our online account so that we can monitor our solar stats online to make sure we are producing what we were guaranteed, and also to see how much we use.

Overall, we are happy with our decision and look forward to savings over the years. We recommend solar to you, but caution that it is far more complicated than you probably realize. There is a lot of misinformation out there and regulations have changed in the last year.

If you have been thinking about getting solar, look no further than Sun Solutions and our rep Aaron Karkhoff.  He is the only solar representative we let in the house.  He was so thorough with the information he provided.  No pressure at all. Not your typical sales guy! He sold us with his knowledge and my husband signed the contract that day.  We are on our way to no more crazy high APS bills. Our solar panels were installed and activated mid-October. We already have a credit with APS, so they are working! So happy with our choice to use Aaron with Sun Solar Solutions!

We signed the contract at the end of April. Our solar was installed in the 2nd week of June and we still don't have a working system. There's been one delay after another with our project. They have made mistake after mistake.  We are beyond frustrated and regretful that we chose this company. If you are looking for a smooth and professional transaction. Called to inquire about Solar after Moving into my new House.  Aaron came over 2 days later and explained how the Solar Program works. He gave us an estimate with sattelite photo of our roof, showing us how the panels would look. We signed up Him and Sun Solar Solutions right then. Very painless and informative.  He told me that we'd be contacted by the Project Manager.  (Ariana)
Ariana was also great. She let me  know when solar panels would be installed, gave me heads up about inspections, and today the meter was installed. She walked me through the "Turning on" part of the setup and hooked me up with the App to monitor My Production just a while ago. I recommend Sun Solar Solutions for sure.

Well   New bill for a 30 day period.  Still not happy. Can't believe I fell for solar again. $500 plus $277 for solar.  I know it's hot and producing but it's not what the APS bill should be according to the numbers and production I was told before having the panels installed. Do your research and understand everything you are absolutely doing before you got solar with any company.

This review is for the process of setting up a system with SunSolar. I can't speak for the quality of the panels or the power output just yet. The technicians that have been at our home have all been respectful and competent as best as I can tell. We signed our contract in mid April 2021. The office staff moved reasonably quickly through the first few steps. Our Project manager Chris seemed to have a handle on timing. I think SunSolar probably does great as long as there are no hiccups. Our job had a design revision, a missed install day due to a labor shortage, a failed SunSolar installed switch and a failed city inspection. We are 2 weeks away from making our loan payment on the system that has not generated 1 watt to offset it's cost. We are 4 months post contract, 1 month post installation with no output and no clue as to when that will happen. If your project is vanilla and everything goes as planned, you'll be good.

My husband and I met with Sunsolar Solutions along with a few other solar companies back in March of this year. The solar rep we met with was very thorough in his presentation on how solar works with our utility company APS. The rep showed us a few different system sizes and what each one meant in regards to the amount of solar energy the systems would produce and what that meant in for our remaining APS bill. My husband is the techi nerd guy in the family so this definitely intrigued him, especially considering that this was not explained to us with some of the other solar companies we met with. Their approach from the very beginning was a no-pressure approach and they do their own installs, which was an important decision making factor for the both of us. When we decided to move forward with Sunsolar Solutions the very next day I was contacted by a customer service representative who introduced themselves as our dedicated project specialist and from that point on the rep kept in touch with us every step of he way. I was VERY IMPRESSED by this process coming from a customer service background. Other than a few broken tiles which they said would happen and that they would be replaced, and have been for that matter, we are very happy with our decision and would highly recommend meeting with this company if you are interested in solar. Other than that, the system is producing exactly what we told it would and we're very happy! Thank you Sunsolar Solutions!

So everything was great until the install came up.  They use Titan something-or-other and it took them three times.  Once was completely my fault the other two were them.  As it is a weekend and this place is closed I am still not sure if it is fully installed and ready for inspection since no one has called to let me know.  Also and most frustrating was that at no point did they say anything about needing inside my house to connect to the modem and internet until they showed up at my house one day completely unannounced.  So basically the most important part of this at the start is the install and they have made it more difficult then I would think it needs to be with poor communications and omission of information regarding the installation.  Outside of dealing with this secondary company they have been fine.

I did my research and interviewed a few companies in the area before choosing Sunsolar Solutions and I am so glad I did. They have been nothing but helpful throughout the process. The main reason I am writing this review though is the customer service. It is WAY BEYOND what you would expect. Solar takes a few to several months from the sign of contract to actually be installed and turned on because it requires approval through the city and then there are several inspections that need to happen by both the energy company and the city. However, Sunsolar Solutions gives you a point of contact in house so you can reach out with any questions or concerns, and they are quick to answer the phone or respond via text. I had a situation happen where there was a mistake made during installation and a metal vent was damaged. They took FULL responsibility for this and replaced the vent and repaired the damage from the broken vent ASAP. This company has some serious integrity and I would tell anyone looking for solar to look here. It is one thing to look good when the job has no hiccups but when it does, and the response is we will take care of it and they actually do...that is a great company! My solar job is now complete and I can say it has been an overall really positive experience and I would definitely recommend them 100%.

Our system was installed in a timely manner. The reason I am giving 3 stars is because of the salesman who we worked with. His name is Daniel. He told us that they were installing enough panels to put us at 110% of our current usage. He had written notes on the documents. Once I signed and documents were given to me his notes were not on there and going back through I signed for what would be 100% usage. I only figured this out after I called APS to see why I was receiving large bills in the summer. When signing the numbers are in watts not percents of your current use. I trusted that he was having me sign what we had agreed upon. Stupid of me. I won't be recommending anyone to SunSolar Solutions because of my experience with them.
Edited- Val called me to understand my concerns. I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 because I feel like Daniel was still misleading and did not explain things well. I appreciated Val taking the time to help me understand their services better.

I know how rediculous this sounds but I am not exaggerating...This company showed up to my house with 30+ people and a camera crew standing in my front yard, (you literally can't make this stuff up) when we opened the door they all started cheering. Seriously at least 30 people...We asked what was going on and they told us that we had been chosen for a free solar setup. After they left we were skeptical so we went on Facebook and found a video of us that they had posted where they also talked about using the footage for some door 2 door sales training video. All without our permission. They were going around the entire neighborhood telling all my neighbors that they won. Needless to say it was a complete scam. The picture from my camera only shows a few people but I'm not kidding there were 30 people there recording us on their phones and a camera crew with several professional cameras pointed at us recording. I have never seen sales tactics like this but they took video of my newborn son for their sales videos and I'm ticked off. Reporting them to the BBB. Obviously don't do business with this shady company.

A thorough and trustworthy business.  We got solar installed and every step of the way was super easy.  From the "sales pitch", to installation, to getting permits, and turning everything on - Sunsolar was in constant communication with me.  The installers were professional and cleaned up after themselves (poor guys working in the heat on my roof).  The referral program is super simple too.  Just talk to your neighbors, family, and friends about your personal solar experience.  People are interested in hearing about your personal experience.  Then you get a surprise check in the mail for $500 because they signed up too.  The financing option is great too.  1.99% financing for 20 or 25 years.  If you elect 20 years the financing company will cut you a check for $750.  Plus you are saving on interest.  I just felt like Sunsolar was very professional, and very transparent during the entire process.  It can feel overwhelming adding an expensive purchase to your house.  Any questions and concerns I had were answered in a clear way.  Very good company.  A++

We spoke to Rob from SunSolar Solutions at the Home and Garden show to schedule a consultation. We had other companies schedule for estimates also. We ended up going with a different company at first. Rob still reached out to us and just asked that we give him a chance. My wife and I are so glad that we did. Not only did we save money but we also got a bigger system. On top of all of that, I truly mean this too, Rob made us feel so comfortable with the choice we were making by going with SunSolar Solutions. Rob explained every detail, something other companies did NOT do. Most were just trying to rush us through the process to get us to sign. Half of the solar companies we talked to never even came out to our house but somehow gave us a quote. I can go on and on but I'm going to save you time and simply say, go with SunSolar Solutions.

I had a great experience with Sun Solar (NOT Sunrun).  Corey was great, communicative, not pushy.  No gimmicks, no tricks. I got 5 solar quotes and all were saying basically the same thing so I know I wasn't getting a BS pitch.  I also did a ton of research. Ultimately I went with another provider for reasons that wouldn't matter to 99% of people. I would still 100% recommend Sun Solar.

FYI, if a company designs you a system based on your last year's usage, and you go way over that, it's not the solar company's fault.  And micro inverters are not the best thing out there. They cost more and have a higher failure rate.  The optimizers are fine, especially if you have a sunny roof.

It's been a touch and go with this company since the beginning! We were referred by a friend, Micheal O'Donnell was our rep and he was training someone as well. We felt like since the start we felt rushed into something without given the time to review it all. They messed up the loan and had to resubmit which took a few extra days! The process to install took forever it seemed like and literally wasn't turned on until the very day the new loan payment was due, which to me seemed ridiculous and was even told when I called them that they had taken longer then usual to install and that they would note in the account to have it reviewed and compensation given. I have yet to hear from them. They get you signed up and you basically never hear from them again. We were also told they were going to date everything for install for last year so we could claim the tax credit and nothing has been given to us either in regards to that.. We have only had our solar turned on for a week now and we had our electrical box and all redone by them. However now our automatic sprinkler system is not working, which it was before they installed. I called to inform them and they ofcourse blamed Titan, who does the install and was going to reach out to them. They however said it would cost me $150 service fee!! Are you kidding me for something you did!!! I will now not recommend them to anyone I know!! Its impossible to get anyone to return your phone call as well!

We highly recommend Sun Solar Solutions!
My husband and I were really impressed with the presentation and explanation of how the system worked that Michael O'Donnell of Sun Solar Solutions gave us. He answered all questions and showed us on his computer how the panels would look on our roof. He recommended that we install 34 panels . I told him that I would be sending my nephew the paperwork  to review  since he has been dealing with solar for years and is very knowledgeable of anything to do with solar systems. . My nephew called and said that the proposal was very well done and was very impressed with how well they explained every aspect of the solar system that they were going to be installing at our home.
We signed the paperwork on April 24 , 2019 and  on June 20, 2019 our solar was officially ready to go. Since October 2019 through today we have had a negative balance on our APS bill!
Example: today We received our APS bill, it was a    --$447.30.  Needless to say we are very happy with our solar system and our experience with Michael and Sun solar Solutions!

So happy we decided to go Solar for our first home. We just moved here from California to Anthem Arizona and knew our electricity bill would be high for summer. So what better way to prepare then to get Solar for our home. We reached out to our rep Will O'Reilly who not only came by to our house the next day but he explained every step of the way of the process for the install, inspections, and helped us get qualified. We just had our install completed yesterday and the team was so friendly nice and installed it so quickly. We have our inspections coming up and look forward to the day we can turn on our Solar very soon. I high recommend this company to anyone looking for Solar. I also highly recommended using Will O'Reilly as your rep!

This is a great company to work with. My initial appointment was with Troy, he's very knowledgeable and easy to communicate with. The company as a whole made my installation process simple and worry free. This will be my second home with solar panels on it, and I can't recommend them enough.

To start, I wasn't really looking for Solar.  Because I am a Realtor, I had my reservations because in the beginning, when Solar was fairly new, I was seeing a stigma associated with Solar when a home was up for sale.  I reviewed many solar leases on my clients behalf from some of the big name companies out there and let's just say they were not good!
As time progressed and the public became more educated, I started seeing better and better solar options and homes were selling in many cases because it had solar, instead of the opposite.
That's when I decided to look into solar on my own new home that we had built in 2016.  I'm the kind of guy who does his research before making a decision so when I say Joe Spiek with Sun Solar Solutions was the best option, you can count on that to be the case.
Joe was honest, very informative and he just gave me the numbers.  No B.S. no salesy pitch.  Just good solid information.
We sized the system to fit our needs perfectly and as of Feb 2017 when our system was installed, we have never paid more than $20 for our Connection Fee to APS.  That's it! $20.  Often, depending on how many days in the month, the payment to APS was $18.
Our system has produced 100% of the power we need and the beauty of it is, no matter what happens with APS price increases moving forward, we will always pay $18 to $20 per month.
I highly recommend comparing companies as I did, but it is crucial before you make any final decisions to have Joe Spiek sit down with you and give you an honest assessment so you can make an informed decision.
Lastly, if anyone would like to reach out to me for more information on my experience with Sun Solar Solutions, I can be reached at [email protected].

Overpromised, underdelivered, under-whelmed so far:

- We were told when signing up that our solar would take 6-8wk from start to finish. Our deposit was submitted on July 8th and solar finally turned on October 23rd. In my opinion it only happened "this quickly" because my husband was calling almost every day to try and set up city/APS/solar inspections/visits. If he hadn't stayed on top of them it probably would have been another couple of weeks.
- The panels were actually on our roof Sept 3rd but due to the company not having arranged timely inspections/permitting it wasnt turned on for an additional 5 weeks
- Customer service significantly declined once we paid. As stated above my husband has had to call and email regularly and it often took multiple days to even hear back from the company and set up the next steps to try and maintain the original timeline that we were told (which was not even close to actual timeframe).
- The reps were professional and polite despite not being very proactive
- Almost 1 week into use and the app to track the production doesn't work
- Our system is yet to produce what we were told it would by almost 1/3

*All in all we are happy we did solar, both for the environment and hoping to see benefits on future electric bills, but next time would likely shop around as can probably find better and more timely customer service.
- Hoping the system turns out to be what was promised and will update the review if it does

11/1/20 Update:
Val-
It would have been nice to have received a "timeline" that showed 120 days but unfortunately we never did so maintained the expectation of the 6-8weeks that we were told when signing up.

Our app to track solar production has yet to function consistently or for even a full day in a row. My husband has called multiple times and been told "everything seems to be working" or "you just need to give it 24hours".  The customer service quality and efficiency definitely seemed to dramatically decline once our checks were cashed.

We moved into our new home in July and we are up and running.   I had a lot of Solar sales people at the door, I liked the program they offered.  Yes, there were "glitches" on both sides but they worked with me and vice versa.  It was a happy ending!  I have had solar before and was happy.  They did a great job!

If you've been considering solar, set up an appointment with Sun Solutions! Our rep Aaron Karkhoff  made us feel very informed and comfortable about our decision to go solar. I am not one to typically make a big financial decision very quickly, and Aaron's knowledge and approach made me feel very comfortable with my decision. He was extremely thorough with all the information he provided, and answered all our questions before we could even ask them. We did not feel pressured to make a decision. Throughout the process so far, there has been excellent communication. We always know what is currently going on and what the ext step is! Look no further, set up your appointment with Sun Solutions today and stop paying APS!!!!!!!

Not a company that stands behind their product. I purchased solar last year in August through sun solar solutions. When you start out with solar in the summer you will still be paying APS as your panels produce power based on a yearly average and you use more power in the summer. Over the winter you build up credits as you are using less power and the idea is that the credits will go toward paying the difference in production in the summer. I noticed that my credits on my APS bill in June went down by $400 which prompted me to call sun solar. I found out that my inverter(sends power produced to the grid) had gone out on 5/23 and that sun solar would be sending out a tech to replace my inverter. This was not done until 7/11. I was still being charged for my solar(monthly fee) and had to pay APS during the time that my panels were not producing any power. I contacted sun solar and spoke with Danielle. She informed me that sun solar is not responsible if the inverter goes bad and we would still have to pay APS and for the solar. She said that if I had gone with the lease then they would monitor the system and cover costs incurred during down time but since I did a purchase they do not monitor the system and it is my responsibility. I explained that their sales rep had instructed me to go with a purchase as you get the best deal and still receive the same benefits as a lease.

I have contacted multiple solar companies and it seams that this is only a policy with sun solar solutions. The fact that my inverter went out after 10 months and I still had to pay for a solar system that wasn't producing power is unacceptable. I will be seeking legal advise on how to proceed.

I would not recommend Sun Solar solutions to anyone that is looking for a company that stands behind their product.

Update 7/23/19
Got a call from Val(owner) and he apologized for the miscommunication. He sent me a credit immediately for 2 months and walked me through the process of getting the solar edge app. Now that I can access the system I can monitor on my own. I am still not happy that I have to be the one to monitor but it's better than finding out 50 days later that my system isn't working. Up until the inverter went out I didn't have any problems with the system or sunsolar. Thanks for the prompt response Val!

I was recently in the market for a solar system and I received a number of quotes.  While I ended up going with a different company for my system, I thought that Sun Solar's analysis and transparency of presentation makes it a go to company for anyone looking for a reputable bid for their system.

in a nut shell we have had our solar panels with sunsolar for less than two years and already the inverter went out which we found out when we received an APS bill for 455.00. I called APS at the end of July and the wonderful rep went through my solar readings and advised there have not been any solar energy produced since July 3. I called sunsolar and they proceeded to ask if I have been monitoring my solar production. We said no. Who has time when you have a large family and work 6 jobs between two people. We found out the inverter was out after they ran a diagnostic which I find it hard to believe they wouldn't do that as a courtesy to customers to avoid situations like this. It took three weeks for them to come out and replace it and when they did, it took two days for it to get up and running. Finally on 8/19 we started to see solar production after a month and a half. I called and left a message this weekend and of course no phone call back especially when I spoke with a rep that Friday before and she advise she would call me Back and never did. I'm not letting this go. The customer service is atrocious and they will literally wine and dine you to get the panels and after you sign the contract, you don't exist.

8/20

Update. Husband and I spoke with Danielle. She listened and was very kind and we do appreciate her service. We now have full access to the App so Incase something goes wrong with the panels we will be notified. The owner agreed to a fair refund and we truly appreciate it!  This is true customer service. We will do our due diligence and monitor frequently and call if we have questions. Thank you!!

We started with them after getting 4-5 quotes from various different places. We didn't feel comfortable wirh any of them. They have kept in touch with us through the whole process. We didn't get The 30 day install but it rained a ton so it wasn't an issue for us. Also it was because of waiting on permits so totally not their fault. The install team was awesome. They made this process very easy! We liked them so much we put a sign in our front yard and we are usually not those people.

We have just had Sunsolar put in our new solar. They were great to work with and helped every step of the way. They did tell us it would be installed in 30 days which it nearly was, one small glitch. The waits to turn on the solar were beyond their control and included numerous inspections and waits for APS. Otherwise the only way it could be better is if it was free.
Great Job

So I a running a follow up to a previous review I posted earlier.

I want to start by saying from sales to instillation this company was great. They use Titan solar to do the work as far as installing and maintaining the system. This company has been nothing but spectacular from installing the system to answer all my questions and to continue to have top notch customer service. It's no wonder why Sunsolar contracts them out.
The 1 negative to Sunsolar was that the salesman didn't know about the consumption meter that is available. This meter is key when using the solar edge app to monitor your system. With out it you will see only what your system produces. With it you not only see what your system is producing but what the electric company is exporting and importing as well as what your home is using. A very helpful tool so you can make changes to habits in controlling the cost of electricity. Sunsolar did make good on the fact that they were unaware of the existence. Which I was very impressed by this.

So I would like to give you my opinion on going solar as a whole. You have 3 options in getting a system. Buying it outright, Financing, or leasing. I will be focusing on my particular system and APS is my electric company

Let me start with how this all works. You give the salesperson copies of your current usage so they can construct a system comparable to what you spend.  You are enticed by the incentives the government offers. And they come up with a number of panels and system.

Having financed this incentive means nothing. To keep my monthly payment for the next 25 yrs I have to put it back into my loan. If I don't, the monthly loan goes up $50 or so. Could be a coincidence but my monthly bill was close to the average payment of APS. The plus side is that would not change based on usage.

Another flaw in this system is APS exports your systems production. What your currently not using APS exports and pay a small fee per kilowatt. Nowhere near what they charge when your system is not working. plus you don't get to charge APS the numerous different fees they charge you. So in most cases you will pay APS something at the end of your billing cycle. APS does payout at the end of the year, any credit balance that is on your account. In the winter months you probably wont see a bill from APS if your a miser like me. But you can be sure that your in the summer months you will be paying both an aps and loan bill.

In closing I would like to say I am just a consumer. I have gotten a lot of knowledge from YouTube videos and CS reps from both Sunsolar and Titan.
I believe buying a system outright is the route to go. Your bill from the electric company will surely be much lower than you used to spend and you will probably get money back at years end.
Weather you finance or buy it outright. I would highly recommend including the optional consumption meter so you can monitor and make adjustments to your daily consumption.
I am unaware if there is a system with battery storage which would store what you don't use during the day and draw from it at night when the system is off before drawing power from APS. That would be awesome and make this whole solar more attractive

Do your homework and research all options before making this decision is the best advice I can give. Good luck

I am revising a review I had posted a few days ago about my experience with SunSolar Solutions. I was frustrated at the time but let me assure you that ALL my worries and needs were taken care of. The following day after posting my review Eric had reached out to us and assured us that he would get right on top of our issues.  We had met Eric a few months back and had sold us the system. Usually from experience once a product is sold you hardly hear from the sales rep. Not Eric, he truly takes pride in his work and cares about his customers as if they were family.

Eric was able to coordinate with the office and got a technician out that same day. Even though he was booked for the day and had to drive out from Douglas he showed up with a  great attitude and did not mind staying until he got my system back on line. Robert I believe his name was, was truly a pleasure to work with. He answered all my questions and showed true professionalism. He even came out the following day to do a follow up.

It really means a lot to us to know this was not over looked and really appreciate everyone involved in helping us out in our time of need. Thank you from myself and my family, keep up the good work. It does not go unnoticed.

Sincerely
Marco A V...

After speaking with the Sun Solar team, I'm changing my review again. The transition to solar can be a bit confusing and the Sun Solar team had some their best trying to acclimate me on the particulars. I would still recommend them as there is a definite savings. I now understand my issues are APS related and will have to tackle this with them.

After posting this review the owner of the company (Val) contacted me personally. He worked with my wife and I to correct the mistakes made the best he could. I don't know about you, but for me it means a lot when someone steps up and does the right thing. As you can see from my review, I was not a happy camper and Val could have avoided me completely, he didn't. He specifically addressed the changes he's implemented in his company to avoid experiences like mine. The solar industry as a whole has some issues in my opinion. Val and his team seem to have learned from the experience and used it to improve rather than continue on, business as usual. With that said I'd like to recommend you give them a shot at your business. Get the details and hold them accountable. My guess is you will be happy with the result!

I met Troy and Val a few years ago when I leased my first solar system. I have since then sold that home and purchased another home. Today, I met with Troy again for another lease.
The install on my 1st house went just as promised. The panels produced just as promised. My lease payment was much less than what I had been paying APS! And for my first summer, I kept my thermostat at 72 degrees. ALL the time. At the end of the year, APS owed me $20.00. When I put my house for sale, I had a buyer but they "didn't like the solar"....huh?? SunRun had given me  Service Transfer Coordinator named Cody and he reached out to the buyer's realtor to see if they'd be willing to talk with him. I had an offer the very next day! My realtor said that the transfer was the easiest she'd ever experienced.
Of course I'm back again with Sun Solar Solutions! Stellar company. Why wouldn't anyone use them or go with solar? I am happy to answer any questions, or just give Troy a call and tell him I sent you.

At this point I have not one good thing to say about SunSolar from the salesman to the installers to the installation scheduler, project manager, and customer service.  I rescheduled the install date as I would not be home.  Instead of coming on the new install date they came on the first date.  Imagine my shock when I got the email saying they were already installed.  After numerous phone calls, this is what I have learned.  We don't know who did the reschedule but they should not have as they can't.  Hmmmmmm that was the only phone number that I was given.  No one has any answers for me. I have also discovered that they put one section of panels on the opposite side that was requested.  It gets less sun where it was installed.    I now have to do several things.  Have a roofer in to see if they covered up the location that my Tube Light needs to be installed. (they have said they can pull a panel and patch the roof.  This is a new $10,000 roof that I do NOT want patched.  I feel the need to put up a cement wall and security gates as well as an alarm system since I do not know what took place when I was not here. Once those bids are in, I have to consult with a lawyer.
I am glad I have read the other reviews and see I am not the only one having problems.  Wonder if I can get in touch with them and we can go as a group to consult with someone about our options.

We have a a very good experience with SunSolar Solutions.   Their communication to us were excellent.  The informed us of every step of the installation.   I cannot give 5 stars because of one reason.  The sales guy promised us $500.00 check on the day of installation when in fact it is really sent to us weeks later.  I called numerous times and they kept telling me that the checks were being mailed on Fridays.   I kept waiting and then calling again.  I must have made 4 different calls and they finally said all the checks were being mailed out on Friday and I had the guarantee of certain individual.  This time it actually was sent to us.  Happy I got the money but disappointed that the sales guys said the check would be upon installation.
Otherwise, I highly recommend this company.  They were professional.  On time and overall a good experience.

We live in Vail.  Our sales representative is David Vidana and I cannot say enough about his thoroughness, responsiveness and trust-factor.  David made both my husband and I feel very comfortable, answered all questions and always got back to us when we had questions.  System install went smoothly while we were out of town; followup and internal communication good.  Up and running and anxious to see our first month's production numbers.

P.S. David made a cold call on us one day...knocked on our door...closed the deal.  I spent my career in sales...I was paying attention to David's approach and answers.  Impressed.

SunSolar Solutions is an excellent choice! We had our solar system installed in May 2019 and have been saving ever since. Installation and verification with APS and Maricopa County was completed in less than 5 weeks. We appreciate the knowledgeable Sales Representative Troy and Tami, from the office, who responded quickly and patiently with any inquires that we had concerning our system operation and with reviewing the details of our monitoring reports. My wife and I fully endorse this company and have often referred them to our family and friends.

After interviewing several companies we decided on Sun Solar Solutions. Derrick was very friendly and knowledgable. We were told we qualify for the "fast tract" to get install in 30 days.  If they didnt meet the install date by Dec 31st they would pay us the difference we would miss in the tax incentive. During our comparison between companies, we were told that Sun Solar is experienced with what is required to pass the City inspection which makes them better than other companies. We signed early Dec 2019. They didnt install the panels until early Jan. Found out the plans didnt pass City inspection and they had to make a change. I was never told what the change was and when I contacted company, was told nothing to worry about, "Happens all the time".  During install they ended up making a change from the plans. Was told they would have to resubmit plans for city approval. After several weeks of not hearing anything, a few Solar Solution work men showed up. Was told they needed to put some pipe brackets on roof. I called SSS and they had no record of anyone scheduled to come to our house. SSS said they would investigate and get back to me. Never received any phone call back. But they did say they are still waiting on approval for plans. Finally after another month went by and the only answer from SSS was they are waiting on the City, I called the City myself. Found out my plan was rejected again for the 2nd time. I called SSS and spoke to Tammy, she was surprised to find out that I had called city and heard it was denied again. She said she would get right on it and let me know. Several days later, no word from SSS, I expressed my displeasure that it is now March and I still dont have functioning solar panels. She apologized and said she notified her team and someone should have called me. I said no one is calling, no one is letting me know what the issues are and I am missing out on storing up my electric credit. I was so upset. Not sure if this ever passes the city that it will even work. At this point, I would not recommend this company. Alot of promises but no results. It's a mess.

There was a multi month delay on the actual install (which would be fine except now my system got installed during the hottest months in Phoenix and I didn't have any credits saved up so I still have to pay APS). Initially the system wasn't making as much power as I needed. Then once the rainy season started my hallway upgraded itself to an indoor "waterfall". The worst part about all this is I'm still paying for APS, and I'm still being charged monthly by sunpower even though half my solar panels have been removed. The only reason this isn't a one star review is because the customer care from SUNSOLAR has been top notch, specifically from Danielle at this branch who has been very attentive and followed up constantly with updates regarding the repairs to the roof. I'm just disappointed that since the install I still have an APS bill due to all the hiccups.

Sun Solar was a great company to choose and work with when getting our solar panels. They are easy to talk to, help you understand everything, and keep you updated throughout the whole process. I definitely appreciate how quickly the panels were installed and how much they worked with our HOA and the City to expidite the finally steps of getting the panels fully operational. I would recommend this company 10 fold and will always do so!

We had been thinking for years to install solar panels ,not only to capitalize on the 365 days of sun we have in AZ but to  to decrease our carbon footprint and live a greener life style.
Our family had a great experience with Sun Solar Solutions. They are very professional and provide outstanding customer service. The owner has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the world of solar,to APS and his main priority is to inform the customer ,to educate them and allow them to make the best decision after knowing all the facts regarding "going solar". We did not feel pressured even for a second,we did not feel like "we were sold on an idea that we did not have complete understanding of" and felt comfortable asking questions to ensure that we completely understood the process. He and his team went above and beyond to outline the process from the beginning to end,the timeline and what would happen. He was easy to reach ,extremely through when it came to the paper work and his attention to detail are amazing. The installation was completed in a very timely manner and we are very excited to have our system turned on soon-as soon as the city does their inspection.
Good job Sun Solar Solutions and thank you for helping us go solar.

My wife and I recently decided to solar with Sun Solar Solutions and everyone who we encountered to guide is from start to finish with the installation process and educating us on going solar.  The salesman gave us many options and helped us pick the best plan to suit our needs. Now our APS bill has been lower than $20 a month! Would recommend Sun Solar Solutions to anyone and everyone!

We have been extremely disappointed with our solar experience with Sunsolar/Sunrun. In March of 2017 we bought a 20 year lease for $377 monthly for 20 years. We were promised large solar production as we have 72 solar panels on 2 houses. We were promised APS electric bills of $25 or close. We were promised that Sunrun would pay the difference if it wasn't $25  a month. WOW! not one bill has been less than $250 and the last have been more. We were lied to by our salesmen and have not received service to remedy any faults creating such large APS bills. Please do your homework and get many quotes before you commit to $90,000 + in lease payments over 20 years. I would give Sunrun and sunsolar very poor ratings based on our limited experience.

For the most part, we have been happy.  We've had a couple of issues that have come up.  We are really happy with our sales rep.  She was amazing, helpful, and kind.

Sunsolar contacted me at the beginning of August and informed me the rates might change and to make sure I switched to the standard plan by the 15th.  I called APS and the person I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about.  He took me off the Budget plan.  It didn't seem right, so I called Sunsolar to verify.  The rep told me to call APS and speak to the solar department and change my plan.  This information would have been helpful from the beginning.  However, it was too late for my budget plan.  I couldn't get back on that plan in the middle of August.  I think this portion could have been explained better from the beginning.  I received a $657 bill that was due to carry over from the summer and the current month bill.  I normally pay $227 on the budget plan.  So I'm not happy about that.  When I called to explain my issue with Sunsolar, the female who answered the phone was rude.  She informed me that I was only 61 days into my install and it could take up to 120 days and I needed to settle down.  Not a good way to speak to anyone.

The installation company that came out was great.  They left some trash in our back and front yard, but I picked it up since it was small stuff.  The guy who hooked up the electrical brought me out to show me an issue we had in our electrical panel.  There was some sparking and some wires were burnt.  I called an electrician and he had to clip the lines back and re-attach about 10 wires.  2 of my fuses weren't even hooked up any longer.  So I am very thankful to them for pointing this out as this could have been a disaster.

Overall I am happy we switched to solar.  I know it will help with the environment and our bill.  I'm happy we chose Sunsolar.  I wish some things had been explained a little better, or when I call that the person I spoke to was a little nicer.  I'm sure they get a lot of calls regarding the same questions, but that's their job.  I'm not a solar tech and don't know everything.  This is new to us.  We are still waiting on the inspection so we can go live.  I'm not sure when this will happen, but hopefully soon.

I was really skeptical about going solar so I took the time to shop around in order to find the best deal. I met with other solar companies and found that they weren't as honest with my girlfriend and I as the salesman was for Sun Solar, I think the salesman's name was Jake. Anyways, we ended up getting the best deal with them and I highly recommend this company to anyone looking to go solar.

Wayne sold me on a rooftop system in June and I was up and running this Feb. Installation didn't take too long, but APS took a long time to come out and inspect the system and get the meter installed. Annette and the others in the office were very good at keeping me updated.  Now I'm saving up energy credits for the summer.  It felt like a big gamble but I'm glad I went with Sunsolar.

This was the 3rd company that I contacted for information related to solar installation.  I was so happy with their service.  They were very understanding and patient and took the time to explain everything to me until I understood.  They were very courteous and keep me informed and undated throughout the process.  Great group of conscientious people

Michael the salesman for Sun Solar was great in walking me through the process of going solar.I was not planning on going solar after hearing negative stories about it.But Michael showed me the benefits of solar ,so I leased the system. Great company to work with,I was kept informed of what was going to happen at every phase. They use the highly rated Sunrun solar system.Installation was fast, about three hours. The crew did a great job, they even painted all the exposed conduit.
Just started up & was putting power back into the grid. They sent someone out to walk me through the start up & explain how it works. I am anxious to see how much power I produce in the first year.
  Real happy with this company.

Count me as one very  happy customer of Sun Solar Solutions!  I did quite a bit of research comparing them to other solar companies and they came out on top for customer service, installation, maintenance and price plus keeping me posted along the way as things progressed.  Tania & Dan were absolutely fantastic in stepping me through the process and educating me on how solar works, the grid, etc. (Tania should have been a teacher)! I would highly recommend everyone to switch to solar with Sun Solar Solutions as soon as you can!  Looking forward to see the savings as a result!  Thank you Sun Solar!!

I'm extremely happy with my decision to go solar and that I chose the company Sun Solar Solutions. The installers did an amazing job with the panels and inverters. My salesman guided me through all the options and helped me find the best solution for my needs! I already received my first APS bill after solar, and I love that I now have bills under $25.  I recommend Sun Solar Solutions to everyone!
