HISTORY
Established in 1977.
We are a Family Owned and Operated SBE Certified, CR-31 (masonry), CR-14 (fencing), CR-36 (stucco) Licensed Company operating out of Tempe, AZ since 1977. Many of our employees have been with us for more than a dozen years, with our average employee having 7 years of employment with us. Everyone works well together and we are all done practicing. We enjoy competing in annual block wall building competitions and have built positive reputations with other masony companies for being able to quickly get complicated projects completed with extreme accuracy. Our employees are all very much involved in the community, we have donated block walls to Habitat for Humanity, Friends 4 Life Animal Shelter, Head Start Preschool in Guadalupe, Seaton High School and Valley Christian High School. In addition, our families volunteer countless hours with the AZ Humane Society, 4-H, NCL, Make-A-Wish and many other charities. Our employees are much appreciated by our company and the community.
ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER
After working as a union mason for several years, Bob McPeters started his own company, Sunset Fence, in 1977.
Bob has actively participated with both the Arizona Masonry Guild and the Arizona Masonry Contractor's Association.
He is very much a family man, and is thankful that Sunset Fence, has afforded him to be able to sponsor not only his kids, but others also involved in the activites they enjoy, such as 4-H Dog Shows, Motocross and BMX.

I contacted sunset fence for a second estimate on a twenty four ft. by twelve foot block wall.
The 1st came in quite high and sunset fence beat the estimate by $5000.
On day one they came in and dug a footing and poured the concrete by noon.
The next day they put up all the blocks by noon.
The crew was very efficient they cleaned up after themselves and they knocked out the entire project in two days.
Called upon Sunset Fence for advice and recommendations. Their response time and assessment/recommendations were stellar.

Sunset Fence did an amazing job replacing our old, damaged wood fence with a sturdy block fence and beautiful gates (I've received many compliments on the quality and look of the gates). Bob was knowledgeable, practical, helpful, and responsive. He went above and beyond to assist with obtaining my neighbor's approval, and was extremely helpful with navigating the City of Scottsdale's requirements. I couldn't be happier with the process and finished product. I highly recommend Bob and Sunset Fence.

It is refreshing to work with professionals such as the owners of Sunset Fence. The entire process went flawlessly. Every appointment was on time and all the workmanship exceeded our expectations. They built over 400 feet of block wall in 4 days. Just like they said they would. 1st day is footing only so they really built the wall in 3 days. The employees were very hard-working and always on time and always respectful. The cleanup was thorough. The quote process was easy, detailed and accurate. I highly recommend this company for any masonry work. It would be hard to find better customer service than Sunset Fence provides.
We had Bob, from Sunset Fence, come out to evaluate the damage to our block fence. Our fence is cracked horizontally, vertically and stair-step. In addition, it is bowed, inward--but, is not in danger of falling. Bob wrote a professional assessment that we have no water damage or trees that would create this damage. He concluded the rebar had suffered corrosion, footings had failed and tree roots (we have no trees) contributed to the damage.
His assessment, in conjunction with a arborist experts report, will prove beneficial to us, in the future. We back to a common area retention basin with huge mesquites and have neighbors with citrus planted close to our wall. We water our grass, on a regular basis, and mesquite and citrus are known to seek water. The common area water is turned off, as was our neighbor's irrigation. We'll see what happens, though we plan on spending about $1000 to repair our fence, ourselves.

Hired them in 2016 and my fence is perfect. They did such an amazing job my neighbors ask all the time, who did it? I always smile and share. These folks know their stuff and their work is top notch.

They did a fantastic job on our privacy wall! They were very knowledgeable and so patient with us while we worked with our HOA for approval. Kudos to the guys who did the hard labor, especially in the extremely hot weather! Price was reasonable too. Would recommend this company to anyone!
They couldn't help me but gave me advice on who to call t get the wrk done that I need.
Great customer service from Amy in the office and Jim overseeing the project in the field. They finished ahead of schedule, within $40 of the estimate, and did a great job. I would definitely use them again.

We rented out our home after having to move out of state and then had to seek someone over the phone/internet to repair the block wall at the rental home. If you've ever tried it, you know it's difficult to find someone from afar to provide an accurate estimate, then do QUALITY work. We feel so fortunate that Sunset Fence did this for us. We felt that not only did we get an accurate estimate, but that Bob was careful to caution us about those things he would not do...just to ensure there wasn't a lack of understanding. I put in a request on the Sunset Fence website for a free quote. A day later I receive and email from a sales guy saying they can provide an On-Site consultation for $65 (applicable towards work done by Sunset Fence). In disbelief I write back to the sales guy asking why there's a fee for a free quote.
Never received a reply. Won't do business with this place.
Just moved to a new house in STV. I looked online for block wall companies and reached out to a few for estimates. Jim from Sunset Fence reached out to confirm details and sent me over an estimate. The price was fair compared to the competitors, but the level of professionalism and communication was a level above the rest. They handled almost every aspect of the job including contacting blue stake to confirm where they were going to dig the footers. They even helped refer me to a landscape company who needed to remove some plants prior to the wall going up. We are super happy with the finished product and would highly recommend them for wall and gate products. Thank you Jim & Amy!

My neighbor and I split the cost of replacing the wooden fence between our yards with block. This was a large job, as in total I believe 4 separate homes were involved. Jim was our project manager (for lack of proper title) and did a great job communicating and keeping me informed throughout the project. They showed up on time and go to work right away. These guys know how to get things done! Demo, haul away, and almost my entire wall was up in just 2 days! The crew were friendly and focused and did a solid job. Further, Ruben identified an issue with the leveling performed the prior day, which meant he & his team had to do about 4 hours of re-leveling and cutting blocks in order to rectify it. The integrity he displayed is sadly lacking in far too many people, but not this man. He easily could have pretended not to notice. I may have never known, but he did the right thing when nobody was looking, and should be highly commended for that. I only even know about this, because I saw them doing the work over and asked him about it. One of my sprinkler lines was busted during their prep work, which was my fault b/c I had no idea it had been run diagonally, and by the next day when I showed my yard guru what needed to be fixed, I discovered it had already been repaired. I asked Jim about it and indeed, it was him. Outside the scope of his job, but another example of going the extra mile. While they've still a bit left to do, I'm beyond pleased thus far and would recommend this family owned and run business to anyone who asked me for a referral. Oh, and Amy in the office was great to work with as well.
Not the cheapest, just the best. Highly professional from start to finish. We had an unusual situation - a 50-year-old redwood fence overgrown with literally tons of cat's claw vines. The overgrowth was about 12 feet high and 8 feet thick along the 90 food length of our back yard. This isn't the kind of demo Sunset usually has to do, but they quickly arranged for another contractor with a backhoe and large truck to haul the cat's claw away in just two hours! All in all, a great experience, and the fence they put up - in just one day! - is beautiful.
Excellent work. Said it would take 2 days, it took 1 1/2 days to do our 100ft of block wall. Great work, cleaned up well.
I checked out several places, asks for bids. They were the most expensive, but were the most reliable as well.
Use a licensed contractor, you'll be thankful.

I had an old wooden fence along my back yard and part of another side, Bob helped engineering the work that needed to be done and came up with multiple suggestions, he professionally worked with my concerns and answered my questions. Bob went above and beyond to do a nice job including moving my stuck to the ground shed out of the way so we have a nice even height fence.
I have done some researches and had other bids, but the previous reviews of Sunset Fence, Inc helped me decide to go with them and I'm no different, I highly recommend Sunset Fence to anyone who's looking for a quality work and good customer service.
This is THE place to work with!! Amy was kind and committed to my concerns. I was worried my wall was weak and that it would fall and hurt someone. She went out of her way to help me understand masonry and my situation. We ended up not needing any work done and they didn't charge me a dime. (They said my wall was good for at least another 6 years). It seams like a small thing, it whenever someone like Amy does her job with that level of professionalism, it truly lightens my day.

Similar to Ed H. review... I called to inquire about their services and although I haven't yet booked, the lady that helped me was very gracious. She quickly google earthed my address and measured my front wall to give a general estimate. She provided solutions they offered as well as some considerations that they didn't offer. She also provided some recommendations and gave me an honest answer in regards to how booked they are. To me, it's always the small things and she provided her time and skill to help me get an idea of what I could expect. They will definitely be in the consideration for the project if my wife can wait till they have time to start the job. Thank you for your sincere help!
Sunset Fence just finished our 120 feet of block wall. They arrived when promised and finished on time (a bit early). The quality was clear, and everything was done to code and plans. They even helped obtain the permit. In terms of price, they were in the middle of our bids but with quality consistent with our higher bids. They also fixed a small loose brick as a courtesy, outside the original scope. I was very impressed and I would use them again without hesitation.
I'm impressed just by the help I received over the phone. The young lady(I apologize I didn't get your name) who helped me was able to answer a lot of my questions even before I asked. Then gave me some references to my side of town and who might be able to help us out sooner. I really like everything that was covered over the phone and Thank you for all the help. My boyfriend and I used Sunset Fence for our backyard and they are superb. They were the only contractor that proposed that we maximize our fence to the mid way point on my house. Also, the only contractor that supplied a detail schematic of the fence install with the proposal. They informed us of that up front without any additional work on our part. We highly recommend Sunset Fence and will use them in the future if we purchase a new home.

Two things that have tons of opportunity to go wrong: construction, and splitting finances with your neighbor. Luckily, my neighbor found Bob and Bob at Sunset Fence. These guys and their crew were amazing, made the whole building a wall in the back yard with the neighbor situation completely painless and the output was amazing.
The new block fence looks amazing, their crew was super nice and really professional, and they spent more time discussing timeline and steps than any contractor we've had since we bought this fixer upper 6 years ago. I hate mystery timelines and poorly set expectations, it's my thing. It seems to be the project style for a lot of contractors, I was happy to see that wasn't the case here. Specifically, when your yard is opened up to the whole alley, it's good to have a timeline and expectations set and (bonus) rely on them.

This rating is long overdue. My husband and I had a fantastic experience with Bob Corelli at Sunset fence. They demo'ed out the common wall 100' chain link fence, trenched, poured a concrete foundation, set rebar and added a 100' long, 6' high block wall (to perfectly match my other block wall). They also repaired deteriorating block at two separate places on my other wall (free of charge). Total job was about $3500 and after permits were in place, it took 2 days to complete.
I couldn't be more pleased! From speaking with Amy to meeting Bob onsite, everyone was friendly, professional and informative. I had a block side wall being pushed up by a pine tree, which created huge gaps and instability. Bob came out to assess the situation, provided a fair quote and work started swiftly. The wall was rebuilt from the bottom up and pine tree roots were cut as well. They did such a great job, arrived on time and completed the wall same day. I would never hesitate to contact them again - fantastic job and fantastic people!
The professional and helpful treatment started with the online quote from Amy. From there I made a phone call and spoke directly to Amy. Again she was kind, patient, and very helpful. Jim came out and gave us a quote/estimate and was very professional, helpful, and prompt. We had an extra block added to our 25+ year old block wall for privacy and safety with a pool in our yard. They were able to match the painted block and it looks great! They were fast, and completed the work in several hours. The four gentlemen who did the work (and Jim) were very positive, helpful, and attentive to what we needed. The workmanship is excellent. I highly recommend this company to anyone who needs a fence.

It may seem a little strange to review them when they did not do the work. I requested a quote to redo a post that was leaning so our gate did not shut. As it turns out, they have an $1800 minimum for work. This is common and the gate people (Action Gate) had already warned me that I would have trouble finding any one to do this small of a job. However, Bob M, the owner, took to time to email me and make suggestions about how it could be done. One of his employees will do the work. I think this speaks volumes about their customer service, so I would use them any time I needed work done.

I had a block wall that needed to be repaired. I contacted Sunset fence and spoke with Amy. She was very responsive and helpful. I sent her pictures via email of the problem I was having. She immediately gave me an estimate. They are very honest, which is not always easy to find. I definitely recommend them.
Asked for a quote to replace our fence. Not only did they respond quickly, they gave a lot of quality information via email. We haven't started a project yet but once we do sunset fence is who we will likely call first.
