I had Garrin come out and give our church a bid for several repairs and new installs.  2 plumbers (?) showed up and it was downhill from there.  Granted the building is old but Garrin was here and looked at everything and he wasn't shy on his rates.  The first day they flooded part of our building, they did take responsibility and did a great job cleaning up the water. Garrin owns 2 other companies 1 did the clean up.   The 3 toilets they replaced all had to be reset.  Filters were put on 2 water fountains and 1 dripped after but it's not their problem they didn't do work in the area of the leak.  Had them replace 2 flushometer kits it took 3 attempts for no leaks.  High priced company. I had used them twice before and it was great but the 3rd time was a bust never again.

Seriously fantastic- I had an emergency -leaking toliet and what a crazy mes was occurring.. Steve called me back- here within an hour! Due to the rapid nature of the problem I figured I better use a large company thinking they would be able to get out fast so I had called George Brazil first and they were so rude and condescending I decided to give a smaller company a try. So very glad I did. What a great experience...Steve was so professional and nice. THIS is how great service is done.

They advertise a free estimate.  I called for one and the contact person called two plumbers with no response.  No estimate no service.

We had leaking water heater that's was still under warranty. t's difficult to find someone you can trust The folks at smith plumbing were helpful, timely and cost effective.  They came and got the old water heater to the warehouse and managed to get me another 6 year warranty.I would recommend them for your plumbing needs.

A shower was not providing hot water.  The plumber came out and said the Moen cartridge had to be replaced.  He claimed the Moen product was very expensive and the total cost was just under $300. Since we were having company over and they would use this bathroom I agreed to the job.   I subsequently learned the real cost of the cartridge was less than $60.  In fact, the plumber told me I could have bought a new handle, shower head, and bath head from Lowes for less than $120.

Had an emergency this morning, they were quick to respond which was great.  Here is the not so great.  Quoted $175, could be $250 or more he said.  Had a job of clearing a block in the plumbing line.  Couldn't clear it with the snake he had so had to return to shop 2 miles away and get a larger one.  The entrance to the line was on the side of the house, easy access and didn't take too long.  At the end it is $394.01 with tax. He said he waived the ER fee.   Didn't make sense, after talking to another plumber giving him same scenario he said it was much more than it should have been.
He did offer to clean the wall where grease from his tool was left. I took him up on the offer.

No stars would be the best review. Our garbage disposal went out, we purchased a new one at Lowes and my husband removed the old one. He could not get the new one installed, as he was just out of the hospital and recovering, normally he could do it. I called Smith plumbing, and twice I asked about pricing. I was told they would have to look at the job, and had fair pricing.

After the tech arrived, he told us it would be $318.00.  We has no running water in the kitchen and no choice but to pay them $318.00 to install the disposal, labor only. Gouging us because he knew we had no choice.

So we paid $318.00 for the new disposal installation, the tech was at our house about a half hour. I called and talked to the owner, he said he would talk to the tech and call me back . Of course I never received a call. When I call, he is in a meeting.

Don't hire them for anything, they price gouge and take advantage of the elderly. NEVER AGAIN.

Very costly plumber.  They told me I needed repairs costing a few thousand dollars.  I brought in another plumber who did entirely different repairs for a couple of hundred dollars and everything works perfectly.  Smith deserted me about halfway through the job--either I paid thousands of dollars for unnecessary repairs or they wouldn't come out!  Their plumbers do not come out in a company-owned van.  They are actually freelancers who drive a personal van or pickup truck.  They disappeared from my house for two hours during lunch and charged me for it.

Stay away Came to our house Provided ZERO estimate for repairs Tech said he had to get a part from his truck to repair our toilet. He repaired it while I was buy with our dog sitter. Took him 10 minutes Part was a plastic gizmo that cost less than $50 The bill was $312.50 Yes you read it right....$312.50. An owner by the name of David promised to make it right Of course he never returned multiple calls. I plan to file a complaint with the ROC and his bond company this week.

My name is Walter Myers and I want to give recognition to Mike Clark. This guy is very knowledgeable great customer service and definitely very equipped for this job. He knew exactly what to do to help with my garbage disposal and if I could I would always choose Mike to come out and help with anything in the future. Again thank you Mike for all you do!! I absolutely cannot say enough good about Smith Plumbing, Heating and Cooling!  I had them out to replace a toilet and fix a bathroom sink, about three months ago and at that time, I signed up for membership.
Well....they are now my heroes!  Kevin came out yesterday because we had a sewer clog.  He worked for about an hour outside in the horrible heat  and fixed the problem.  AND the great news??  With membership...I got one free service!  This would have been a very costly repair and thanks to Kevin and Smith Plumbing, I don't have to eat rice and beans the rest of the month!!  Thanks again for your honesty, integrity, and great service!!

I want to send a quick note letting you know how pleased I am with the service of one of your employees Mike Clark.  I made an inquiry online and within 30 minutes received a call from Mike letting me know he can make it over later that day to check out my plumbing concerns.  Mike very clearly explained the problems with the plumbing or what I thought were problems and gave me a step by step plan to fix.  Also, what I thought could potentially be problems or issues with the plumbing, Mike explained that what I was looking at was normal and there was no need to fix.  I don't know many employees that would have done that.  Most employees would ask what is the problem, you show them and they fix it knowing it wasn't something that needed repair.  I commend Mike and Smith Plumbing for doing things the right way.  Honesty, courteous and attentive.  Thank you Mike and Smith Plumbing.  I will use you in the future and refer you to friends and family when there is a need because I know that I will get an honest answer from your employees and that your company has and always will do things the right way.

BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE  

2 months ago I paid Smith Plumbing $983.00 to replace my water heater.  They came out and did the work, I signed off, and they left.  Great.  I had hot water for 10 days.  they sent out the same technician, Mike, to fix it.  Less than 24 hours later I was taking a cold shower AGAIN.  A different tech (which I had to insist on) came out and did repairs.  24 hours later .....you guessed it.  NO hot water.  The 4th try was by Mike again.  He did some diagnostics with Rheem over the phone and it was determined the thermostat was bad.  Why did it take so long to find this out?  I had asked several times that they replace the unit and take the faulty one to work on at their shop.  Smith plumbing refused each time.  I asked no less than 5 times.  Mike said the new thermostat would be here next week....this was a thursday.  Monday or Tuesday if it gets on today's truck, later if it's on the next truck.  Mike offered a solution.  Put an out of warranty thermostat in the water heater temporarily and put a Rheem one in when it arrived.  I was to call them when the parts arrived.  Even though I had a knot in my stomach, I agreed because I thought it was my only option.  Mike did the work and left.  A few hours later I began to explore my options.  I found a company willing to do the work the next day at $250 less.  They were prompt, courteous, and proffessional.  They even replaced water lines that Smith plumbing should have.  I called Smith to come pick up their water heater and requested a refund.  THEY REFUSED.  Apparently they have learned that if they don't pick up the parts, they don't have to refund.  This company was rude, unproffessional, and over charged me.

I'm unsure about 3 stars. I have mixed nightmare AND amazing experiences with Smith Plumbing. As of right now I will use them again because their main plumber, Rob, is excellent, and also bc they have lots of mobile home experience. If you know of others that are great I'd like to know them.

My bathroom needed a rebuild and they contracted the work to their own sister company, owned by the same owner. Turns out that sister company barely runs and they didn't have a real crew when they took my job. They sent 2 barely adult kids to rebuild my sub floor. One kid cut up all the flooring wood with curving edges in several small pieces so it would fit in his car to get it to me. I came home to find a jigsaw puzzle of a sub floor that bounced and sunk when I walked on it. When I complained they sent out someone else who was excellently skilled but expressed a lot of negativity about all the other workers and about the job and ended up having too much back pain to finish. No one showed up while i missed client appointments and lost money waiting for workers who were schedule. Finally they sent out 2 more guys who said they felt thrown into the middle of a job (as they were) that they didn't quite understand. I had to ask them to redo several things that looked awful (and Rob the plumber expressed to me his disappointment at their work even after that). The two guys admitted they'd never worked on a mobile home bathroom before.

After 3 months with no bathroom and WEEKS when no work was being done, the bill for part of it was double what was quoted by the plumber. Katie, who handles the logistics, insisted this was their discounted rate and has stuck to it. So I am stuck with a high bill for a nightmare where only Rob the plumber was competent.

Be sure you get all quotes in writing and maybe have them contract with someone else to do any rebuilding for you. Their plumber Rob will work his butt off for you and do a damn good job though.

Started having a hot water problem. I knew the hot water tank was OK, so with my expert amateur plumbing deduction, it seemed like we may have a bad recirculation pump. Called our home warranty company and they dispatched Smith Plumbing.

I couldn't believe they were going to send a company from Gilbert up past Carefree Highway, but they did. When I checked Yelp, I got a little nervous.

The plumber, Kevin, called on his way and couldn't have been nicer. When he arrived, he took the time to explain all the possibilities. He was incredibly thorough, and at one point, he thought we could have a cartridge problem on the mix valves. Kevin took the time to troubleshoot everything.

In the end, it was the recirculation pump. He replaced it and the hot water started running perfectly. Kevin was great - the service was great - and they got us up and running quickly. Very happy with this company on this call.

I had an emergency when my rental house in Tempe sprung a leak on my tenant around midnight. I live out of state and called around to some 24-hour plumbing services to see what could be done. I knew I could have someone resolve in the morning for a reasonable fee if I could just get the water turned off, which my poor tenant was not able to do. Several plumbers I called informed me they wouldn't even SHOW UP for less than $125, before they would even LOOK at anything, much less TOUCH anything. The plumber at George Brazil told me I was probably looking at around $600-700.  I was horrified.

Fortunately, I called Smith Plumbing and explained the situation to Alex-- and this amazing and friendly man told me he was not far away, he would go and shut off the water for my tenant for no charge! I couldn't believe it, but that is just what he did. I would recommend them to anyone and call them again in a heartbeat.

I have used Smith Plumbing in the past but most recently to fix a drain issue.  The plumber was friendly, on time and gave me advice on fixing a few other issues around my home.  Had a great experience so if you need a good plumber in the Tempe/Ahwatukee/Chandler area, give them a call.

I had a simple leak in the wall value of my toilet. Technician Mike replaced the value quickly and efficiently for a reasonable price. He also gave me a quick tutorial to replace the tank seals and bolts since the toilet looked to be old enough to require this pro-active maintenance.

Kevin was so generous to come all the way out to our house in Phoenix to double check an issue that wasn't reflected on our home inspection report (that Smith Plumbing conducted).  It ended up being a simple fix that we just hadn't thought of-- definitely a little embarrassing, but I'm not sure that we would have figured it out without his help! :)

Do not use Smith Plumbing.  Left my house a complete mess after a sloppy repair.  They do not carry the most basic plumbing supplies on their trucks, had to make many trips to Home Depot.

Mike came out & took care of my issue today. He gave me a call in advance, showed up on time, was clean and presentable, and very professional.
I had Smith come out  once before and that guy was super nice too. I kept their magnet on the fridge and I am so glad I did!!!!
Mike helped me out with an issue with my toilet that's been bugging me. He listened to my description of the issue and he also quickly fixed my issue. He was in and out in less than 20 minutes! Best part - it was SUPER cheap!
I've always felt like the people they send out are so polite and professional. They give you the feeling that they are cognizant that you are a person - not just a job - and they treat you accordingly.

After getting in touch with David, their Vice President I was able to schedule some repairs after he agreed the work wasn't up to professional standards. Unfortunately Mike, the one who originally did the subpar work, was the one who would be doing the repairs. Well, after taking off a Friday afternoon to meet them, Mike spent about 4 hours basically making things worse, then left without letting me know, and left my garage door wide open in a busy neighborhood. At this point I was livid and gave Dave(their VP) a call. He once again agreed, and asked if they could have one more chance to make things right. I told him I'd be happy to give them another chance provided Mike comes nowhere near my house ever again. So the following Monday, we scheduled Kevin. Man, what a difference, I immediately sensed his professionalism. He took one look at the prior work and shook his head. He then asked if he could basically start from scratch and do things correctly...I gave and enthusiastic yes!. Fast forward 3 hours and Kevin's work was fantastic. Straight pipe runs, clean joints, routing that made sense. All in all, while I wouldn't let Mike anywhere near anything I own ever again, I do trust Smith Plumbing to do what's right when problems arise, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kevin.
