Rustic Decor Store

The Rustic Door Store was fantastic and I would HIGHLY recommend this company.  Bruce was our sales rep.  He was patient with us during the design process.  Bruce told us exactly the process for install.  Ramiro and Jose C. installed our door.  They not only installed the door, but fixed the dry wall inside and the stucco outside.  I did not have to call any other trades in to fix any of the modifications from the old door to the new door.  The new threshold needed to be ordered after the install.  To my surprise, the company(Ramiro and Jose C.) returned to put it in days after the install.  Yay! Bruce was on site checking the install every day.  The install process and installers were polite, efficient, and clean.  This was a great experience.  Thank you.

As one of the previous reviews states having an issue with lack of communication.  I stopped in the showroom to discuss the design of a new front entry door.   After selecting a door I was told the salesperson would be in touch to schedule an appointment for measurements, etc.  It was TWO months later that I received a call back if I was still interested in the door and did I want to schedule an appointment.  Poor customer service!!!

3 things created our experience with Mike and rustic decor to be horrible:
1.) Poor business ethics - He informed us he would throw in the bronzing of our front door for free, then went back on his word and said he never stated that. Upon having this conversation with he he stated he wouldn't have said that and would meet us half way and pay half the cost for the bronzing. When going to pay the 2nd half of the invoice Mike, AGAIN, stated that he wouldn't have offered to meet us in the middle and pay half the price of the bronzing.. he went back on his word twice.

2.) Poor installation - the installers left 2 feet worth or black marks on our new tile, grout, baseboards and the walls. The installation of an iron piece we had made in our backyard was shotty. It wasn't installed evenly, measured accurately nor was it fabricated to the correct measurements.

3.) Incredibly poor communication and follow up - trying to get mike back to call you back is near impossible. Installation took 3 weeks longer than quoted. Upon leaving multiple messages and sending emails we received no communication back for 10 days.

Really wish I could be leaving a good review, pricing was fair.... Honest business ethics are more important and worth paying for..

I am a homeowner and only wanted one door, custom made for our new house.  After shopping around to three vendors, we selected Rustic Decor.  They were not the cheapest but all were within a similar ballpark.  The customer service unfortunately was just a disaster throughout the whole process.  We were quoted a schedule of 6-8 weeks but ultimately it took  more than 14 weeks to get our door, long past stucco and paint so we incurred additional costs for those subs to come back.  They scheduled and missed the scheduled date more than 4 times without a call to update us on why they could not deliver.  It was the owner we were dealing with most of the time.  Not what I would expect from a custom company. Disappointing.

I will keep this short and sweet. We are planning on a lot more iron work and some Cantera work at our homes (2 homes on property), however we will not be choosing Rustic Decor for this work!!

We spent over $60,000 with this man, Mike, owner of Rustic Decor Store.  He has been asked to show proof of a credit of $2700 on an invoice and won't return calls or emails.  I believe this to be theft at this point.  If anyone has any ideas for avenues that I can take to get my money back, pls reply.  We are easy targets for this company, as we live in Oregon.  The lighting we ordered has practically rusted off the house in 4 years time which we were told they wouldn't do and have a front door that was to have Low-E glass and doesn't.  The $2700 was for a leather chair and ottoman we never took delivery of and have repeatedly asked to see where they credited us for this as we have no record of a credit of $2700 on our end.  Seems simple, huh?  Well, I have received no reply.

Come see my door before you have these people rip you off. I PROMISE you wont be buying from them. Thats just the door itself without what I went through to at least have it basically functional, i.e. shut.  This was an exterior door that was used interiorly.  It has a crack in it i can put a quarter through so I dont know what they really expect from a door but please, save yourself the head ache go some where else. You will thank me. They put so many holes in it and the frame that it looks like I have termites. I warned you.
