I had AHW send out a plumber for a water heater replacement. They did a quick look then said they needed to call AHW. After 20 min came in and said it would cost additional 850 out of pocket! They listed a slew of misc items they claimed were not covered. 165 for two flex copper connectors, 120 for a permit additional and claimed 250 from AHW (a water heater replacement permit in pima cty is about 110) they even put a charge on there for disposal. I spent an hour on the phone with AHW reviewing all of this and my coverage, filed a complaint with the BBB and will file with the contractor licensing board. Fortunately I was familiar enough with the cost of this and showed them the door. I sent a review to AHW and indicated that Pedro and Rooter King were ripping off their company and their customers. Buyer be very aware!!!

Had a very good experience with this company, they were sent by AHS. Carlos the dispatcher was very professional, and Anthony the plumber with his partner did a fantastic job in half the time, dealing with a difficult situation.

Joel fixed everything Jerry messed up. Jerry wanted me to remove a wall so he could get his snake. Joel said pipes are under manufactured homes sub floor so removing that wall would not fix it. Joel was here about it two hours fixing the problem. Only took 3 visits in 10 days to do it

The biggest scam in Tucson. These people act nice in the beginning until it actually matters. This company is referred by our insurance AHS, which I'm getting in contact with now to see why for years they've been using this scammer business to rip off their clients. After failing to fix the problem, they suggested a power wash that they charge $1100 for apparently. Competitors in town average between $300 and $500 for the identical process. After paying these people a lot of extra money, we are still experiencing serious issues, they are claiming that it's not their problem, they were rude to my wife when they went to go look at the problem, they left without doing anything or saying anything.  Now they claim that it's not their problem and simply hang up on you... it baffles me the reviews that go back years for this company, and they are still in business...

RK Plumbing was sent to my house through American Home Shield in the summer of 2014 to fix a pipe that was leaking in the wall.  I called to ask them about their warranty for workmanship and I was told the warranty was only good for 60 days.  Here it is a year and one half later, the pipe is leaking again and they say they can't do anything about it.  The last time the pipe leaked it caused 5,000 worth of damage, my house was in shambles for 3 weeks while walls and flooring were rebuilt and I had a 1,000 deductible on my homeowners insurance.  So, looks like I get to do it all over again.  I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone, especially if they don't guarantee their work.

Our home warranty gave me their number and I called shortly after moving into a new home as our toilets backed up when flushed.  The plumber was skeptical that there was anything in the line even before walking in the door. He flushed one toilet a couple times and it was fine so he suggested I take a dump and see what happens then! I was floored! He thought it was funny. That is when he started blaming hard water for ruining the toilets; our house has had a water softener since it was built, so I said that couldn't be it. We asked about other possibilities, but he said we flat out need new toilets and soon because everyone has to sh** every day.

He quoted me $250 each on specific toilets - that's over and above what the home warranty would pay if we cashed out. (I got a quote on the exact same toilet from Naughton's for $179 each.) In the end, I asked him to leave, we adjusted the water level in both tanks to increase the water pressure when flushing and both flush perfectly. We had asked him about doing this when he took the lids off the tanks and they seemed low, but he said that would never cause the problem.

Also, he left stains on our carpet from carrying the snake through the house and it dripped. I will never allow these people in my home and reported them to the home warranty company. This is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with - rude, crude, rip-off artists!

This company was contracted to assess damage on and then fix a busted hot water heater through 2-10 Home Warranty.  The technicians were professional, thorough, worked quickly, and friendly.

The only reason I rated the company 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the rudeness of the people at dispatch.  My husband spoke to them a few times and says that they were rude and generally not customer service oriented.

I called AHS for a main line stoppage.  Day two they come. My home has a septic tank and only access to main line is through septic access panel. They can't do that. Call Pedro he is the supervisor he can approve it. I call and he says no. I ask can you drop the line from the vent on the roof. He says no you have solar panels and we can't be liable. I called back and said the vent is eight feet from the panels and there is plenty of roof for the machine.  He says the line we need to go down is next to the panel. I said no that's the shower. He then says that's how to access the main line. I told him no again. The main line is by the toilet. It runs the length of the house from bath to bath. Then he tells me AHS won't pay to go on roof. Give me a break. These are plumbers aren't they. So I ask. How much do I pay to have you go on roof.? He says(and he is the supervisor) I don't know. I'll need to ask someone and call you back.
So long story short. I paid a $100 bucks for them to come out and tell me they can't do the work

I wish there was an option for ZERO stars.  These people work off of manuals and phone calls....they do NOT know what they are doing.  It took 5 visits to repair our water heater....and I am still thinking it is not completely fixed.  We ended up getting a brand new one (Rooter King had installed one just one year before and it broke).  But, I did all the work to make that happen.  When I called in total frustration (after FOUR previous visits), Pedro told me he refused to talk to me because I was yelling at him.  Ummm..yes!  I was furious that it was more than 10 days later and I was still dealing with a broken water heater.  I only used them again because they had installed the one originally, and so I was stuck.  DO NOT CHOOSE THESE PLUMBERS!

Unprofessional, unfriendly, mean, wrong attitude.
They scheduled my appoinment between 2-6pm so I decided take the day off and wait. The problem: A coupler in a water pipe cracked and leaked next to the water heater.  A  plummer arrived just a few mins before 4pm. wearing a face mask but not correctly by the way...  The second he started talking I knew I got the wrong company. He started making nonsese  excuses before even looking at the problem. Then he said that he had to go to the hardware store to get the coupler  but store was closing at 4 so he was going to do the job the next day! A piece that cost $1.50 at Lowe's or Homedepot.  I called the office and this guy named  Pedro  didn't care at all, he actually mocked me because the 1 inch broken coupler was pvc and blamed me for that. Like if we have to know those things after the house passed inspection during the buying process.  He hanged up on me.
I got this company through HWA ( the house insurance company) It wans't my choice.  Be aware, no wonder this plumming business has less than 3 stars in yelp.

This was the assigned provider from AHS. This negative review isn't about the technicians wHo came but about their scheduling and office.  I took time off of work to be here for the window of time provided. They didn't show or call until the window expired so nothing was done that day.  When I called they setup a new time for the next day. They didn't show during that window either and when they did give a window the technician arrived 40 minutes after the time provided.  There was no apology or discount for service - they just said that I could cancel the service.  Terrible service - if you can avoid this company - do it. But again- the guys who came to the house wwere  great.

I had RK plumbing sent to my house by the warranty company several times over the past year.  Every time, we had Cullen come to help us.  He was courteous and did a satisfactory job of addressing the issues.  Never have had any issues with scheduling, etc.  Even after my home warranty expired, I have still used Cullen to address an ongoing issue in my sewage.  He has been through and seems (at least to the degree i can ascertain) very honest and trustworthy.  Despite the poor reviews for RK on Yelp, i have no complaints.  In fact, i scheduled a 5-star Yelp plumber (Silverado) to come out and give a 2nd opinion on my issue, and had a terrible experience with them.  Go figure.

I use AHS and many times they send out Rooter King.  I have 50/50 experience with this company.  I've had to use them a few times over the past years I would say 50% of the time the plumbers have been amazing and could fix things permanently with little issues.  The other half of the time I get guys who don't try to fix the issue and tell me its a $5,000 fix when the issue is just the toilet flush valve which is less than $30.  Or they'll say they have to go through my ceiling to fix a flange when that's not necessary either.  If you have to use them (ie through your home warranty) just use your intuition on when to decline a service they are offering.  You will know its not a needed service because they will tell you your Home Warranty won't cover it- that's because they never called it in for the home warranty to approve it yet.  They told you that because they are lying to you about what really needs to be done.  Of course my home warranty isn't going to cover a $5,000 fix because you told them a fictional diagnosis because you were hoping I would be dumb enough to give you $5,000 out of my pocket to fix a $30 issue.  If you don't have a home warranty, then find a different, reliable plumbing company.

EDIT:
I just got done reading other reviews.  I have found that American Home Shield (AHS) is not the problem as I've had similar things happen with HVAC service through AHS.  The problem is that AHS hires companies that rip people off and AHS doesn't realize this, or they do, but can't do anything about it because they are probably under contract with these companies for a fixed time.  The best thing to do, is to not pay for anything out of pocket other than your initial service fee and if a company gives you a questionable estimate and they tell you its not covered under your home warranty, call back your home warranty and request for them to send out a 2nd company.  If that 2nd company has a different diagnosis than RK (or whatever the first company is), then AHS will refund you the first initial service charge fee.  Its sad that plumbing and HVAC companies are ripping off both you and sometimes AHS.  I also call AHS immediately after the service tech leaves to make sure the company reported the diagnosis to AHS, some service techs will say AHS denied your claim but if you call AHS dispatch and ask if the diagnosis was reported and they say no, then you know for sure you're getting ripped off.

Also, since the time I've been reporting RK and also other HVAC companies to AHS, i've noticed now AHS has changed their rules... that they will contact you after the service company sends in their diagnosis which is helpful.  However, a company can still misrepresent the repair to AHS to make it not be covered under warranty when it should.  So that's why I always suggest getting a second service call from AHS for a second opinion.

Jose came out today from RK to replace our 14 year old water heater that failed.  He was extremely courteous, careful, and thorough.  He made sure we understood exactly what was needed and why.  He also left the area where he worked spotless!  Based on this experience I would hire them again.

Seems like there is a pattern going on with this company. Looks to me that this company works with home warranty companies in order to collect a quick buck with shoddy work or no work at all.

R K Plumbing Heating Cooling & Fire Protection sent someone out on 22 Dec for a shower leak. I Didn't pay attention until my wife tried to used the shower the next morning. The replacement knob wasn't installed correctly, so we only got a 1/4 turn out of it and the handle was loosely installed. Yeah, it was a cold shower morning for us. Besides the fact that he left dirt and grime all over the wall around the faucet, but also all over the sink too.

They were contacted yesterday and again this morning. I was told they were booked up for the day only after I mentioned how crappy the work was done. After a heated verbal conversation with cursing coming from both ends of the phone, I told the Manager (I assume that's who the clown was) to have a great day and was hung up on. I'll fix the fricken thing myself.

Would not recommend them to an enemy, let alone a friend or family member!

UPDATE: (12/24/2015 @ 11:30) Manager called, will send plumber out to fix and all is good in the hood! Raised it up to 2 Stars pending my arrival home to verify job is done correctly!

My home warranty issued a work order out to these guys to fix a minor shower faucet issue.  Rooter King (RK) Plumbing did schedule me quickly, but Pedro did not seem customer serviced oriented at all.  I guess being pleasant doesn't matter.  They have a 4 hour window, which means you have to take time off of work and sit around waiting for them.  I called RK during my appointment window to get status since I had to leave the house for 20 mins.  Pedro said I was next and the technician should arrive in about an hour, but would call me 30 mins before arriving.  2 and a half hours later, no call, but someone showed up!  ok fine.  I told him my issue, he agreed that something didn't seem right, but then told me the shower was fine and if I didn't like it, then to cut out the Kohler valve and switch it to a Delta or Moen.  Really?  I got a second opinion and now my shower is fixed!  No thanks to Rooter King.

My warranty company American Home Shield sent them out to check my hot water heater that was making clunking noise. The service man came out said it was calcium build up and the bottom of the tank was rusted and I was on borrowed time, probably go in the next several months- you could see it had been leaking;. He wouldn't drain it because he didn't want to be liable so we had to drain it. I paid the contract service all cost-for this? It took 6 day's for me to find out from warranty company that RK plumbing report just said -;the hot water heater just need to be drained;. They would send them back out to drain the tank. I said I had drained the tank and since RK Plumbing didn't tell the warranty company what they had told me I didn't trust them. Wish I had looked at RK Plumbing reviews before I let them come out on the service call. I asked American Home Shield if they were going to replace the hot water heater before the bottom fell out and flooded my house? American Home Shield said NO that is PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE. Guess you pay for a warranty only under a total disaster.

We have had them at our home twice and both times they were professional, prompt, and knowledgeable. We have also had very good experiences with the folks in the office. The poor reviews here puzzle me, but everyone has their own experience I guess. In both cases, we worked through American Home Shield to get the work done. The most recent case was for a blockage of the main sewer line leading from our house to the septic system. We were in trouble and they came out the same day and fixed it in mere moments. And, we get a 30-day guarantee. Can't beat that. Prior to that, we had a gas leak and their technician discovered we had several small leaks and took the time to fix them all perfectly. A quick test by the gas company and we were back to normal life. They do their best to make folks happy and, importantly, they are nice people.

The team at Rooter King is just amazing! Cullen and Javier came and did a complete re-plumb on my home. The owner came out and made through checks, and the job was done beautifully! Cullen and Javier worked their butts off everyday to make sure I had running water so I could shower for work in the morning. These guys were affordable, polite, funny, and a great team overall to work with, especially during such a stressful time. I highly recommend that you use Rooter King!

Complete rip offs. Had  them  out  several times  sent  by  my home  insurance- they  always try  to  get  you  to  pay cash  out of  pocket..

Go  to  Silverado. Very  honest.  Also Pedro tells me  he  was  in foothills doing  a job  and  says you  know  the  white  people and says he  told her  the  job  cost  2000.00 when  it  didn't.  He was  telling  me  he would  give  me deal outside of  what  the  home  warranty didn't  cover.  So  u professional  I don't  know  where  to  begin.

Have 210 Home Warranty.  RK assigned task of having outside water handle to turn on and be usable.  Appointment made within a day and a half of the late night call to warranty company.  Javier arrived at the start of the time frame appointment.  Javier verified and checked what needed to be repaired.  Went right to work and systematically worked with the problem.  Diligently checked that the handle worked and did not show a slow leak at the water meter. After several tries he had everything working without leaking.  No damage to the brick around the faucet handle and pipe.  Polite and tidy workmanship. Was concerned after reading some reviews.  Pleased with the well done work.

Sink and washer backed up. They called first thing Monday morning (home warranty 2-10) is the reason for waiting till Monday. They called Monday in the a.m. and set the appointment. Showed up exactly on time and a smile. John asked questions and gained a good understanding of what was happening. He rootered the tubes and got the clog. He was in and out in 30 min. Very fast and friendly. Very professional as well. I recommend John and his company fully!!!

Awful! Stay clear. Took full advantage of me and did not resolve the problem whatsoever, $525 later. Another company came out for 1/3rd of the orice with a 65 day warranty. This company required i pay before the service and then left me with sewer backing back into the tub after the first flush. (A rental with one bathroom.)  please don't go through the stress they caused me.

This company provided acceptable service. But in my opinion are very unscrupulous. If you have a home warranty please be aware if you are calling for a covered service. (Anything outside your 4 walls is likely not a covered event) My main waterline was leaking. I had dug down and found the leak myself. These guys dug out a little more of the line and installed a patch. They charged me $350.00 for a job I had done most of the work on. Then to make this worse they kept the money that American Home Shield provided even though it was not a covered event. I realize if they drive out and don't do any work they need to get paid for the trouble but that is not what happened. I gave them $350.00 for an hour of work. And they took the money from my warranty company also. When I spoke with Pedro in the office he said they keep the Warranty money for diagnosing the problem. I said I dug the hole and had the leak exposed. He was not interested in making this right or doing what was right. He said to call American home shield. I said you already told me that they gave you money. Why would they refund me when you got the money. This company has plenty of bad reviews and this will definitely be another one. I called and tried to get this issued to a more reputable place before they arrived and was turned down. I will be spending more hours making sure that my warranty company is aware of how this all went. Pedro ended up hanging up on me. He was a real piece of work.

I just wanted to off-set some of the bad reviews. I placed my request for service on/line with AHS. Ten minutes later a call came and the appointment was set. I received an additional call 30 minutes prior to arrival. The tech, Culler, was friendly and efficient. He had a new garbage disposal on the truck, and 35 minutes later the service was complete. I guess it just goes to show its sometimes good to keep an open mind and not be tainted with Yelp reviews( I always check anyway).

I was sent RK plumbing as a serviceman from American Home Shield.  When I checked their reviews, before their arrival, I saw a lot of negative reviews.  Now I know why.  Had an extremely negative experience with them.  I had 3 jobs, they did one.  Refused to fix a drain problem.  Just talked down every thing they saw.  I said, so my entire house if f...ed up he answered yes.  No attempt at customer service or customer satisfaction.  Wouldn't recommend them to anyone.  I complained to American Home Shield as well and I wasn't the first.

Have a home waranty, ( AMERICAN HOME SHIELD-SUCKS),.  My shower head had broken off, they came to look at it and left,   called the worthless guy named Pedro,  who is not a plumber or people person , who was Rude and wanted to talk about himself only, nothing related to my plumbing issue, that  the tech had to go to another more important call.  My daughter was home when the tech called Pedo, and told him that he could not fix it,  that he never had done this type of work,  (AHS) took my money right off the get go, Pedro never called back and the tech never showed up,   I called a person of CRAIGSLIST,  and joseph (520-403-3240) came over the same day and repaired the shower head , and fixed the leaky faucet, in a hour, cleaned up and charged me $125.00 to get it done,  use this guy for your plumbing needs, he's fast, clean and very honest... Shady, shady, shady.   RK Plumbing was referred to me by my Home Warranty company.  I wanted a second opinion.  One guy came out just requoted for the work the company before suggested, so I called back and said I need someone to do an ASSESSMENT of the situation.   They sent a manager out who told me it was the P trap, same assessment as the first company but he said he could not get to the P trap because it was under the slab so they would need to break up the slab.  Then he said I need to power wash the pipes for $1500 that would not be covered by insurance and then he asked me to authorize him renting a camera that he could put down the drain for $200 but it was not a guarantee that it would provide useful information.  When I told him I wanted another opinion he said everyone would tell me the same thing.   I called the Home Warranty back to ask what other options I had and was told the manager reported that the P trap had not failed and there was no smell.  HW company said based on his report they would not cover it any more.  After investigating, the The HW company offered me another contractor.

Worst customer service ever! DEMAND that your home warranty company refer you to someone else.

We have been forced to use this company several times now and they never fix anything. Jose' came out last Friday because our entire house was backed up. My husband explained what was happening when he got here and his immediate response was that he didn't get paid by the warranty company to do the whole house...only get the bathrooms going. What?

He also refused to clean the line to the street, stating that the home warranty company only paid them to go 30'...again, what?

He was at our home for less than 15 min and my husband had to drag him back into the house to test the bathrooms.

Two days later the entire house backed up again. We were promised someone would be here between 1 - 5pm today. Pedro called at 4:47 pm to say he had some bad news. All the guys are tied up and no one can come out.

I pushed back saying that they should have called much sooner than 4:47pm if they weren't going to make it, I missed half a days work and pay to wait for them and I would appreciate it if they could send someone out tonight. He said he would send someone out tomorrow, what was my availability. I said I work 8 - 5 tomorrow, he said lady I'm doing you a favor you gotta' give me something to work with. I reminded him that I had been left waiting all day only to find out no one was coming and I wasn't going to miss another days pay.

Pedro then told me that he was trying to help me and maybe I should take it down a notch. WTH?

Rude, incompetent, entitled and should not be allowed to continue in business. Complain to your warranty companies. Demand another plumber.

If AHS send these thieves to your house, call them and tell them NO thank you, ask for someone else, please trust me.. At first they were really cool to suck you in...Please note: My water heater was under warranty. Told me they had to run new water lines outside the home and install something with the electrical breaker...that AHS did not cover. I needed to pay $425. I had to pay before they did any work which i did. They came and left within 46 minutes, no new water lines were run, nothing was done with the electrical breaker.... I stood in my garage watching them the entire time. They hooked up the new unit, welded for about 30 seconds. said they were done, sign here, and they were gone. the funny part is they made me sign two invoices one in my name and one in AHS name. So they billed me and AHS the same amount except they added $45 for disposal fees to AHS. I would like to add, the brother of the owner of company said to me if you want your water heater so bad, why don't you go pick it up yourself? After waiting a week with no hot water. What kind of service is this? Trust me, tell AHS NO, don't send this company to my house. PLEASE, you will regret it

I've had the pleasure of working with Rooter King Plumbing more than once and every time I am treated as king. I read some of the previous reviews on this company and absolutely do not agree with the negative ones. We had a fabulous experience with our service appointment. Julio was responsive on the the phone and answered all my questions. Joey, the technician, arrived in the early part of our appointment window and did a professional thorough job. We were completely satisfied with their work. Thanks, Joey and Julio!

I also had to use this company via my American home shield warranty. I do not live in Tucson but I have rental properties there. They called me immediately, made sure I understood everything that needed to be done and also they did it within one day. I am very happy with how they performed for me and I am very happy with the customer service. Over all they were actually very nice to me any understand I didn't live there. They accommodated my situation with no problems.

The home insurance company referred these people to us since we needed some plumbing repairs done. I can't say they were the best even if they did show up on time.

The guy who came into our home was very shady. I say this because it was as if he didn't want to do any of the work and repeatedly tried talking his way out of doing anything. He also kept looking around our home and at us a lot. I thought he was behaving very weird and I really didn't want him in the house any longer by that point.

He was demeaning too, and thought it was ok to insult us with comments like: What? You couldn't figure this out yourself? What a jerk. We had serious concerns about our heater and he blew us off. He only did one repair out of four. We had to pay a copay which was a ripoff considering he did little to no work. He never said he was in a hurry so what was his issue? How about pure laziness.

He gave us his companies card/magnet (as if we would be calling him again) which is now happily in the trash can.

So, if you find this company being referred to you, then I recommend turning them down.

We discovered a major water leak via an outrageous Metro Water bill ($400+) and a small puddle with a fountain of water bubbling up in our front yard. Rooter King was referred to us by our home warranty company and they came out in a timely fashion on a Sat. Joel was very nice, knowledgable and assured us we could get a repair/replacement done on Mon. In the meantime, at no charge, he installed a temporary above ground water line so we could have water over the weekend. On Monday, Joel and Santos came out first thing, were able to dig a trench and replace the water main (the old one was not reparable because the material was obsolete), back-fill the trench and then on Tues. came to clean up the yard. They did an excellent job, and the cost came in well under what was estimated. I would re-hire these guys any day of the week to attend to our plumbing needs. I highly recommend them!

AHS sent me these guys. I need a new water line from sink to fridge because the old one leaks. As soon as the tech realized he would have to move the dishwasher, he started making excuses. He called AHS & told them the line would have to be rerouted - which they consider a modification & won't cover. The line can go in the exact same place if the tech isn't too lazy to bother. I talked to AHS and they are sending a new plumber. DON'T USE RK PLUMBING.

I used them because they were assigned by American Home Shield.  Their office manager gets a 5, everything else a zero.  The plumber replaced the water pressure valve to the house unnecessarily and I paid an additional $295 to get it done.   No one will give me a breakdown on what American Home Shield paid them. it didnt resolve the problem at all.  my Handyman came and figured out the problem successfully in 2 minutes!

A service fee in the amount of $60 was charged with no service provided.  Company only gave estimate, and they advertise free estimates.
Our Hot water heater started leaking in our garage on 12 January, 2019.  Our home warranty company contacted Rooter King Plumbing and they arrived at our house on 15 January, 2019.  Technician performed no maintenance, no diagnostics, and no service whatsoever.  Technician stated the hot water heater needed to be replaced.  He then stated the hot water heater would be covered by our home warranty but there would be an additional $200 labor fee to install the hot water heater.  Technician wrote this information on a billing invoice.  A $60 service fee was written down.  Again, the technician performed no maintenance, no diagnostics, and no service whatsoever.  We received a very poor estimate at best.  On the technicians truck it is advertised free estimates.  We are baffled as to what service we paid $60 for.  No service was performed.  We ended up not going with this company and put a stopped payment on the $60 check as we were told by our home warranty company this amount would have been credited if we agreed for Rooter King Plumbing to perform the replacement.  We ended up buying out from our home warranty company and having the hot water heater replaced by another plumbing company, whom did not charge us an additional $200 to replace the hot water heater.  We ask that Rooter King Plumbing please clear the $60 service fee charged to us as only an estimate was provided to us.

Am now in a dispute with these people thru AWS.  Their plumber arrived and declared that he was so afraid of heights he couldn't go onto the roof to snake out the clog in the kitchen sink.  Next thing, RK Plumbing informs me that they must 'jet' the lines and wonders if I were all right with charging me $495.  No.  I was not.  Called AWS, and they're dispatching a second plumber.  These guys are clowns.

If I could give zero I would. This company is a preferred vendor with our home warranty company. We had a pipe break below the foundation and in less than a week, they had fired me. Their reason was that Customer will never be happy because I had a number of questions about the cost and in trying to negotiate with the warranty company. I mentioned to them that I worked in law and was trying to do my due diligence and then they fired me. Kinda sus. Seems like they're a preferred vendor because they do what's best for the warranty company and not their customers.

Do yourself a favor, don't sign anything, read everything, and find another company unless you have very basic, easy fixes. Like changing a faucet handle. I wouldn't trust these guys.

2-10 Home Warranty sent Rooter King out, but the Delta body spray handle that was broken was not covered. The technician stated that Delta has a lifetime replacement policy and he would check on it and get back to me. Ten days later, I called RK and was told they would check in the status.  Five days later, I called again and was again told they would check with the technician who was off that day. Two more days and no response so I called again and still was told that they had no answer. What the rude person told me was that there was no money in it for them because the home warranty didn't cover the repair. I stated that I understood that I would need to pay RK if they could install the part, but needed to know if Delta would provide the part.  When I asked if they could find that out, I was told that it would be a courtesy on their part because 2-10 didn't cover it (which they apparently had already determined they weren't going to do after 18 days but hadn't told me). When I asked for the Delta contact info, I was told to Google Delta myself. RUDE BUSINESS. I WILL NOT EVER USE AGAIN.

I have no cold water coming out of a shower and every faucet in the house has cold water except Master Bath shower. 2-10 Warranty sent out RK Plumbing to diagnosis the problem which was already diagnosis by a previous company 2-10 sent out but refused to repair the work due to low payment from 2-10 warranty. RK plumbing sent their technician out who did a very quick diagnosis. Probably within 5 to 10 minutes. Shutting off water once to diagnosis. His recommendation was maybe a pinch 90 degree elbow or calcium. A totally different diagnosis from first company. After RK Plumbing spoke to 2-10 Warranty, any further work being denied due to a pre-existing condition. I totally disagree but whatever. At this point I dig into problem myself since 2-10 Warranty isn't. After several turns, twists and turning water on and off, found that their is PLENTY of cold water pressure coming to the valve. Their goes the theory of calcium or a bent elbow. Second I take out the pressure balance spool and look over it. Its rusty and probably could use a replacement. Lowes nor Home Depot have one. I put the pressure balance spool back in. Thought it went in awful deep and too tight. I back off the cartridge and Lordy be... COLD WATER comes out of the valve!! Their goes the first diagnosis that valve is plugged. When I turn hot water back on at tank, the cartridge starts to leak because I had to back it out to get cold water. Turn off all water and re-tighten cartridge no hot water leak but also no cold water again. I am no certified plumber but reason tells me that either the pressure balance spool is bad or the wrong one. Believe RK got this wrong which is causing me headaches with 2-10 Warranty based on their diagnosis. Looks just like part number Pioneer X-4400005 if RK reads this.

Either this company was willfully lying to my insurance company to get more money or was absolutely ignorant in how to replace my tankless water heater.  They reported that they would have to modify my house, install new pipes  and electricity and do a host of work which was not required. They said the model we had could not be replaced nor were there any alternatives.  I found a great unit on line, while they were still at my house, matching the required specs, and they still reported to my insurance company that they would have to buy a different unit and do construction on my house.  After a 3 month battle my insurance woke up to the deception.  Instead of RK, Premier Plumbing did the job the right way without any of the junk RK said they had to do.

This Company has changed! Do not use them. American Home Shield sent them out for a sump pump issue- RK replaced our sump pump a year ago and it was alarming. We paid the fee, RK diagnosed a float and foreign object issue. AHS would not cover, RK considered not under warranty. Fine we need a working pump so we asked them to just fix the issue and bill us. RK wants an $800 diagnostic fee  to start to find out what's going on- even though they supposedly told AHS what was going on which made them not cover it. So unethical, such a money grab. We would have happily paid for quality work.

If I could give 0 stars for this company I would. Like others, I came to use them because they were the required company through my home warranty for a water heather replacement.  In addition to not bleeding the lines after the install (they had a code for a contractor box that gave them access to the house if we weren't there and did not use it), a number of the connections between the water heater and the water lines were leaking within 24 hours of the install.  When I contacted them about this they said they could only give a 4 hour window of when they could come and fix their mistake. I even inquired as to whether I could be the first appointment in the morning so as to guarantee when they would be here and they refused.  Asking someone to wait around for an addition 4 hours to fix a mistake that was caused by faulty installation practices seems like poor business to me.  At this point, I plan to contact a reliable plumber I have worked with in the past to get the job done correctly and in a timely manner.

Like other users, can there be a negative star rating, like a dwarf, imploded star?

This is a story of easy money!  Show up, do nothing, collect your service fee and off you go.

RK Plumbing (ROC#196399 K37) was sent to my home by 2-10 Warranty to service my water heater.

Upon arrival the service man was told that he was dealing with a 19 year old water heater that was making grinding sounds when heating water.  Some of the sounds were pretty extreme.  He was also told that the water coming from the heater had an odor to it.

The guy looked at the water heater, told us that there were a number of code issues that would need to be addressed and ran the water for about five minutes (it's a 50 gallon tank).  He could not replicate the problem.

He went outside to talk to the warranty company.  Before he came back in I had a call from the warranty company telling me my claim was denied because the problem had not occurred in the few minutes the guy was there. He never discussed possible causes or other actions that he could take.  Got his $60 and was done.

Easy money!

I kicked him out of the house.

Reading these reviews and the BBB reviews this type of encounter is typical for RK Plumbing.

Caveat Emptor!

It was a nightmare. The plumber eventually showed up but refused to move the dishwasher to get to the pipe unless I paid him an extra $175.00 plus the $75.00 I had already paid for the service call from American Home Shield.

This company was referred by American Home Shield. It was an emergency plumbing call. A pipe had burst in the kitchen and water was leaking all over. AHS gives them 24 hours to respond even in an emergency!

They took their time and finally refused to come because it was a holiday. Instead, they sent a remediation company that they work with.

The remediation company tore out two cabinets and my kitchen counters, disconnected the range and dishwasher, taped the cabinets above the counter area with blue painter's tape, and removed the sink. They also drilled a sizeable hole into the wall to send to a lab to check for asbestos and lead.

Now I have insurance to contend with because they don't want to honor my policy claiming that it was a leak that occurred over time. It's not true but it appears they have all the power.

I've been without a kitchen for three months all because a plumbing company didn't do its job.

It was just a leak which turned into an epic battle.

I've been totally ripped off.

I have American home shield and unfortunately don't get to choose who I can use. These guys have been sent out to us on a couple of different issues. First being the water heater. The second time was for a leaking toilet. It took about 4 different visits and techs, some showed up in twos, to get the problem taken care of. However the first or second time they came out they messed without water pressure. I specifically told them when I called back before the third visit I needed it taken care of bc we have absolutely no water pressure! I even told the tech that day he came. This was in November around the holidays. Well it never got fixed and we still have he water pressure issue. I called to tell them about it and he said well your calling me in January for something that happened in November.i said I understand that, it was around the holidays do u realize how chaotic people's lives are during that time?! He didn't seem to care said the warranty would more than likely not cover it for a recall. I asked if they can just tell me what my husband can do to fix the pressure, it's simple! Nope he kinda danced around that. Google will prob be a better solution than having to deal with these people any way! Oh and I forgot to mention the times they did come out they were never here within the window time and when I would call to ask what's going on I would get an attitude every single time! I'm an extremely busy mother of four kids and I don't have time to waste sitting around constantly especially when they didn't fix the issue on the first visit and I spent so much wasted time waiting on them to be late. Very inconsiderate, avoid them at all costs! My parents had the same negative experience with this company!

These guys were sent to us from AHS. We had a leaky hot water heater. David comes in takes a picture and leaves. Saus AHS will be in touch. No response for days. We finally call AHS and Rooter King hasn't completed their paperwork.  They were going to replace an entire water heater because they wanted more money for the installation of a new water heater.  They send a supervisor who shows up with no call ahead and not wearing a mask. He then tries to place the blame on a Latino worker who had nothing to do with this issue.  I would recommend if American Home Shield sends them to you, request another company.

If I could give RK Plumbing less than 1 star, I would. RK Plumbing was contracted through our home warranty company, American Home Shield. They have come to our home to do several jobs in the past. Each time, they have shown up either at the end of the 4 hour time period, or after. One time, the company called to assure us the plumber was going to be here, and we ended up having to wait over 7 hours for him to arrive.

A week ago I set up an appointment to have RK Plumbing come out to our home. I had a window of 10am-2pm. When I realized I had scheduled the service for July 4th, I promptly called the company to ensure there would not be any issues with this. Pedro assured me the plumber would be able to be here today, July 4th, between 10 and 2, as scheduled. After waiting for 3 hours and 51 minutes, Amanda from RK Plumbing called to let us know they were then going to send the plumber out to us. When I told her the plumber had 9 minutes to arrive, as that was the end of our 4 hour window, she handed the phone to Pedro, who proceeded to insult me and condescend to me. Before trying to hang up on me, Pedro said, I'm not going to bother sending my guy out just to waste his time (as if MY time hadn't been wasted for 4 hours today!). It's July 4th. You need to learn how to be patient. I explained the him that I don't need to learn anything, and that he needed to stick to the time frame he provided me. After telling me that I would have to reschedule for another day, Monday through Friday, with the same kind of time frame, he tried to hang up on me. I told him we would definitely NEVER use RK Plumbing again.

This company was hired by my home warranty 2-10 to work on a repeat issue.  Repeat issues are not supposed to be charged a $75 service fee.   2-10 sent out the wrong company since their system didn't ask which issue was being readdressed.  I would be glad to remove this bad review if the $75 charge is not charged, however when I called to ask for the $75 charge to not get charged, I was told to contact 2-10.  2-10 told me to contact Rooter King.

I highly recommend Rooter King! I know the some of the reviews are low but none of them are recent reviews. I have AHS and had a plumbing issue that needed to be fixed ASAP. Rooter King was contacted via online request at 430pm and by 5pm I had a call back from Padro. He asked what the problem was and let me know that it was going to be hard to get here before end of the day but they could be here first thing in the morning. Here's the thing Padro was prompt to call and set up an appointment, very helpful when we spoke on the phone and polite... this has not been the norm when I have looked for a plumber in the Tucson area. The following morning John was here first thing and very helpful resolving the issue in under 30 minutes leaving everything clean and in order.

I have AHS. They sent out rooter king. Carlos called the same day - Saturday - and we scheduled for Monday afternoon. This was their first opening since it was the weekend and I didn't want to pay extra for emergency service.

They arrived in the scheduled window. Jerry was the tech. He was cordial and professional. He fixed all the problems we had called in for. He even offered some tips for how to maintain things better when I asked him questions about it. He was efficient and got the job done in a shorter amount of time than I thought it would need.

I was pleasantly surprised by how good the service was since the other reviews were kind of bad. I would be happy if RK and Jerry came out and serviced our home again. I would also recommend them.

Worst company ever! I would never use them again if they were the last company standing. Very unprofessional staff who had a heated argument with a home owner. Ended up cursing the home owner out and leaving. The job was never completed, however they did charge a fee. Not only did they not complete the job, they left the home and continued to call the home warranty company stating that the home owner was demanding a new water heater unit when in fact all that was asked was to fix it. Absolute worst company ever. Terrible staff, not professional, and management is not professional either. Instead of listening to the homeowner, the manager simply started to argue himself. They should shut this business down and revoke the license. TERRIBLE!!! DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE!!!

Be careful with these guys. I know a lot of people have no choice because of home warranty companies like AHS that use these guys. RK has this strange need to try to squeeze money from you when they make repairs. I had them come out to clean a clogged sewer line. The plumber (which is code for the guy trying to extract money from your purse) told me he needed to use a camera to see in the line. He told me it would cost $450. How could I not laugh? I called AHS and they told me they covered the use of a camera. The $$ Extractor, er, I mean plumber. played dumb (or was he just dumb? I really don't know.)  The $$ Extractor said he didn't know AHS covered it. Really? Seeing as how probably just about every call they go to is for home warranty calls, how could  the $$ Extractor not possibly know that?  You do plumbing right? You were not there to work on my car. Of course I might have let you changed my oil. I am a little overdue.

If that wasn't bad enough the $$ Extractor told me I needed to hydro-jet my line. Um, ok, how much is that? $1200. Hahahahahahahahaha!!! These guys are comedians, but tickets to their  show are way over priced. Can you imagine if I had of gone along with the sales job. $1650 later and I still would have been flushing my toilet thinking about the $$ Extractor and saying to myself , Wow, that sure was a lot of &h@#!

Rooter King Plumbing company ROC196399  IS A SCAM! They were sent to my home through American Home Shields (AHS). The water heater was removed but I didn't have RK Plumbing install a new one. Pedro is a very rude, self absorbed individual. He lied to me, tried to bully me and was extremely disrespectful. He talks down to women as if we are beneath him also, tries to take advantage of the situation. My water heater was under manufactures warranty, so the replacement should have been free.  Tried to charge me $440 to replace the parts that PIMA CO requires for current Code. When I asked him why his prices were almost 300% higher than should be, he stated You don't understand, I have insurance to pay, maintenance on my trucks, pay my front desk receptionist, gas, insurance, etc. You don't understand a business. I said that's part of your overall overhead cost, not the customers responsibility. I understand you need to make money, but not being dishonest, scamming or fraud. Just for 3 valves at Home Depot is $60, not $175 through RK.  Didn't even need but 2 valves anyway. Not only did he try to scam me, but this company DID scam AHS. He got my replacement water heater from the manufacture free, billed and received payment from AHS for the cost of the water heater, service done AND I had to pay $100 to get my water heater from RK Plumbing  for fees associated to get new unit.  I researched with AHS that they did indeed pay Rooter King Plumbing for the work that was never done.  So they were paid very well for a job that was never done.  I could go on and on about the service, but it's way too long, hopefully you get the point of what a SCAM Rooter King Plumbing company is.

Save yourself a lot of frustration, money and time. DON'T USE THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY. Unfortunately, AHS still carries them on the Registrar for work and sends them to jobs. Don't let AHS send them to your home. RUN AWAY from RK Plumbing.

Update: they took my credit card number and wrote it down on a piece of paper. Did not charge it for two days, so I canceled the card as they did not provide me with a receipt or anything when they left showing I paid the service call fee of $75.00. They proceeded to hound me with phone calls at my home AND WORK (even though I never gave them that number nor permission to call me there) asking for me to pay them. Mind you, they did no diagnostics or anything, provided no estimates or receipts, and then completely misdiagnosed the problem. I called them to discuss the issue and they proceeded to tell me that it has been 'a month' since they've tried to get ahold of me (it had been a couple weeks), and they couldn't so she sent the paperwork to collections!!! Over $75.00??? Even when I explained that the guy they sent out did nothing and misdiagnosed the issue to the home warranty company anyway, they didn't care. They said if I 'paid them that day, they'd get it back from collections.' WORST COMPANY EVER!!!! What company wouldn't either waive the fee or offer to accept half since they messed up? Cullen is the BEST thing this company has going for them! After AHS sent them numerous times to my house for various plumbing issues, Cullen was the ONLY plumber from RK Plumbing that ever actually resolved any of my issues! He actually took the time to talk to me about my concerns and took HIS time in correcting them! Not going to bad mouth the other plumber they usual send to me (though he never seemed to DO anything for me service call fee), but Cullen....he is worth his weight in GOLD. Rooter King was dispatched through my home warranty company for a water heater that was not getting hot. Pedro scheduled a time for someone to come out 2 days later (meanwhile, no hot water was available - they had zero sense of urgency). On the day they were supposed to come I called for an estimated time of arrival (it's now late in the day) and was told that all of the technicians were just too busy on other calls and that it wasn't possible to burden them any further by requiring someone to show up (as promised/scheduled) which at this point would be after 5:00 pm. I cannot wrap my head around this. It's not how you do business. If you schedule a time to show up then you show up. If you need to work late to keep your obligation then that's what you do. Period!

The very rude technician arrived the following day (spent most of the time sitting in his truck vs. working to solve the problem) & determined that the pilot light had gone out. This ended up not being the case & quite unfortunately the same rude technician had to come back. The final determination was that the water heater would need to be replaced and I was quoted a ridiculous amount to install it. Needless to say, they will not be doing any work for me. No way!

So, the company has to be pestered to show up, can't keep their schedule straight and has very rude employees.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty assigned this company to me. Like other reviewers, I do not recommend Rooter King Plumbing. They do not meet minimum business standards. I could not respond to their voice mail as their mailbox was full. When the plumber arrived, he immediately answered the phone and spent the entire time on the phone talking to the warranty company. After he hung up the phone and tried to leave, I insisted he talk to me. His opinion was smells aren't covered; I'm collecting the $75 check and leaving. When I insisted that I had paid $75 for a plumber and wanted a plumber's advice, he reluctantly threw out some ideas. He looked at NOTHING. I still need a plumber's service even if it is not covered by the warranty. Truly the worst customer service.

Called for an estimate, they send out someone, all seems well, then we get the report. We were told we would have to replace our heating unit, which is fine as long as we know exactly what needs to be done, when it can be done, and how much it will cost. That's what an estimate is for, correct? Well according to this company, they need to take the unit apart without our knowledge even if the job didn't call for immediate repairs. They would have to order the unit (told about it after the damage is done) leaving us with no running hot water. Like any home, things need fixing, and estimates are done to give the costumer a heads up on what's to come, especially when it involves money. But things were taken down as if the reason we called was to get the job done now, but we called for an estimate, and the bill was for exactly that. Now, after 2 hours on the phone with the company giving us the run around, we are here with no running hot water, a heating unit in pieces, a ridiculous estimate, and the people on the phone basically telling us to pay for it or deal with it. Thanks RK plumbing!

Hope the company sees this... they told me my leaking shower head was due to high water pressure. I adjusted water pressure & it was still leaking. This company supposedly changed the valve twice... shower head was still leaking. (They caused shower handle to fall apart & left me without hot water, too) I ended up having a family member change valve... what do you know... shower head stopped leaking! So this company supposedly changed the valve twice & didn't fix the problem. I don't know what they did or didn't do, but doesn't seem like they know what they're doing.

The service people participate in the up-selling when they arrive on your job site. You should stay clear.

Ivan was excellent, very perceptive and capable. He fixed both toilets and one sink.
The office staff are truly kind and considerate, in spite of scheduling changes! Highly recommended.

We were very pleasantly surprised after reading some of the other reviews, but that is the point of having reviews... so you can step up your game.  Looks like they did!  We have had some issues with AHS sending people out, but they got it right this time.  Javier was on time, professional, courteous and efficient.  We had a 4 hour window... he arrived within 30 minutes, so we didn't end up wasting a whole day.  The whole job was done successfully within 45 minutes.  We are very happy with this experience.

Used this company after they were sent through my home warranty. The two items they were sent to repair were not repaired and I still had to pay them. One thing that he attempted to repair was done 1/2 way. In fact, you could not turn on the faucet all the way without water spraying everywhere. Apparently, that is a normal thing to do in the plumbing industry. When I questioned this, his response was that he had done this for 20 years. Although I'm not a plumber, I can tell this isn't correct.

This will be the second time i've been forced to use this company by my home warranty. Never, ever, again!

The first visit will be the one where they screw something up, the second and possibly third visit will be the one where they try to fix what they've missed... Oh, and you'll have to wait around for them, so be sure to block out 4 HOURS of your day to wait around for them each time. It doesn't matter if they've flooded your entire house, you'll have to wait... 4 hours, each time.

And there will be multiple times.

If you can avoid these people. DO.

Do not trust this company. They were the assigned contractor that American Home Shield sent out to replace my burst water heater. They told AHS it would take nearly $1,000 in labor not covered by the home warranty to install the water heater because the installation was not up to code.
My home was inspected right before I purchased a few months ago. The water heater was up to code.

I bought my own water heater and had someone install it for about $200. No modifications were needed, just swap out the old one for the new one.

If you look at reviews on Yelp, you will find this is a common practice for Rooter King. They get called out by a home warranty company and come up with a laundry list of things they need to do that are not covered by the warranty. Do not trust them.

I have had the pleasure of using Rooter King Plumbing twice in the last month and I was very impressed with the professionalism, their timeliness, and the work that was done correctly. The first time was through AHS, but the second time I called on my own because it was something AHS didn't cover even though the issue turned out to be under house even though the problem extended outside it. RKP was great to work with. I will use them all the time. I don't like that AHS doesn't give you the option to use the same service. Thinking of dropping AHS but keeping RKP.

Possibly the worst plumbing company in Tucson. Had them come out and look at my leaking ptrap. They tried telling my fiancé that the sink needs to be replaced. Yeah okay. Same thing they tried doing to all these other customers. Don't worry I can go to Home Depot for $10 and get the parts to fix the leaking ptrap. Never again.

I spoke too soon! I still stand my the first 2 technicians that came together on the first trip (Santos). They were nice, helpful and they fixed the issue, but it was temporary so I had to get a call back. This time it wasn't the same technician.. we had a constant drip in our tub but the technician didn't even check to see if it was a valve issue he instantly said it was water pressure and I needed a water regulator installed... I thought this was odd since NONE of the other units in our complex have it. GET A SECOND OPINION.. AHS offers it for free if the diagnosis is wrong!! Second opinion came out and it is in need of a valve replacement. Not pressure!! Rooter king was nice.. but some of the technicians don't seem to know what they are doing.

Rooter King Plumbing was the service provider assigned through my home warranty servicer American Home Shield, whom I paid a $100 service request fee.  The technician was unprepared and didn't even have an extension cord to run the snake through the main line so I had to lend him mine.  He ultimately determined I had a blockage in the main line but couldn't confirm what it was unless I paid an additional $125 to put a camera in the line, which I paid.  However, because he did not have the proper equipment with him, he had to leave, do another job, go get the camera equipment and return only to put the camera in the line for less than a whole 60 seconds and determined it was a soft grease blockage BUT he could not fully correct the problem unless I paid to have the line jetted at $1,100.  I said I could not do that and he said he could reduce it to $750 but that without it, the line would back-up again within 3 days and there were no other options available to me.  Well, there's the one and only thing he was correct about, for a nice price of $225, the cleared drain actually only lasted 1 and a half days before it backed up again.  However, I decided to get a second opinion on my own without the home warranty provider, AHS.  Ultimately, I called 88-DRAIN and they came out and completely cleared the line for a TOTAL PRICE of $145 without a camera or selling me on a high priced jetting service.  Thanks for nothing ROOTER KING PLUMBING!

I had the misfortune of having a pipe break somewhere between the connection at the street and my house.  We had it replumbed by Rooter King about 9 months ago.  They were professional and got it all done quickly.  I came home today to find that the water company had turned my water off as a neighbor had reported a water leak and wasn't able to get ahold of us.  The water company had come by and reported that the ball valve at the box was busted and it wasn't their problem.  I called Rooter King, they were here quickly, fixed it without question and noted it was under warranty from the work they'd done previously.  The part had cracked.  Great no hassle service!  I'm sure I'll be calling again!  Thanks Rooter King!

I was surprised to read the reviews after we had some work done by Jerry of RK Plumbing.  Unlike some of the workmen that have been sent out by the home warranty company this was an entirely satisfactory experience. I base this on the following:
Timeliness of response- I called the warranty company yesterday afternoon for a non-emergency problem with our water heater.  I spoke to RK that afternoon and they came out first thing this morning.
Speed and Competence of service- our tank was cleaned out, flushed three times, a new anode installed and the flush valve replaced by 10:30 a.m. Since there had been some leakage he checked adjoining walls for any moisture that could not be seen.
Conduct of serviceman- Jerry was professional and willing to explain what he did and answered my questions about how to perform preventive maintenance.

While no repair work is anything I look forward to, this went as well as one could hope.

If I could give zero stars, I would. DO NOT allow these rip-off artists in your home. As with many of the other reviewers, they were sent by American Home Shield warranty. They charged more than double what other plumbers would to make some modifications when replacing my old leaking hot water heater. The so-called modifications included replacing a brand new water supply valve I had my regular plumber install a couple of months ago. The technician gave me a range of prices initially but the actual bill was way on the high side of the range. All labor was covered by the warranty but Rooter Kings charges insanely jacked up prices on the parts they supply to do modifications (that the customer must pay), at least some of which I doubt were necessary. Then when I asked quite calmly for a breakdown of the invoice, the guy at their office was rude to the point of threatening. The home warranty companies need to be made aware of, which I did, what type of sleazy vendor they are sending into their customers' homes to rip them off. AVOID this company!!!

Totally agree with the other 1-2 star reviews.  Over priced and charged me for work not performed.  They make sure that the itemized invoice (had to request several times) has line items that will make it difficulty to justify you spending time and money going to small claims.

Bottom line....BEWARE.

I have a home warranty who contracted R K Plumbing to come look at our hot water heater. After looking at it and calling my warranty company they said it is approved to be replaced but I would have to pay R K an additional $430 for 'modifications.' I thankfully said thanks ill think about it. Got a second opinion and no extra charges he said it wouldn't need modifications and its a simple replacement because my house is only 10 years old. RK you are a scam! Second opinion cost us an additional $60 dollars but ended up saving us 400+
