I love everything about this place. The customer experience is wonderful from start to finish. I went in to buy a kit for my father, and walked out all signed up for a class. I have taken 3 or 4 classes now from Justin. He is an excellent teacher and he deserves  a raise, because that guy is a PRO! They are lucky to have him.
I will always support a ma and pa store over big box or Amazon.  Keep up the great work Rockler!

Horrible customer service experience.

I have a slab of juniper that need to be cut to size. I called to get price information and the guy over the phone told me that they would need to look at it. I loaded the slab into my car and took it to the location. Once I arrived, I was met by an older gentleman. I explained to him that I had called about getting a slab of wood cut  he stated Ok, I'm sure you were told that we needed to take a look at it?  My response was, yes, it's in the car.
He seemed to be annoyed about having to go get a jacket on to assist one of his customers, but he did so anyway.  
Once we got outside, I showed him the slab, his response was that's a hole slab, not a piece of  wood. At that point I had enough of the impoliteness, lack of interest in customer service, and plain rude behavior.

As I told the gentleman, I'll take my business somewhere else?

The staff here were all over the top nice . My husband got his special chisel and some resin remover and a beautiful piece of Osage Orange wood to turn on his lathe .

Staff are knowledgable, and it's the only place as far as I know in the greater phoenix area to get some specific items or brands.  Despite being a moderately small store it's full of useful specific trade items as well as some interesting looking art project materials (making pens, rings, etc) and some box sets for a custom bluetooth speaker along with classes.

Rocker took on a custom request to trim down a door that was too large for the frame it had been put into. We purchased the house with the door that way and no other company would help us with a door that they hadn't installed. We reached out to Home Depot and Lowes but they gave a staunch, No. John at Rockler said, Yes! He trimmed the door down expertly! It fit in, and we can now actually close the closet. I strongly recommend them for their professionalism and desire to help!

Three things that are always in stock at Rockler's: great products,  great service and great advice.  Seriously, the people at Rockler are the best in the business and go out of their way to educate, coach and help you.  I've used them for years on many projects and have never been disappointed.  They truly set the standard for what a hardware and woodworking supplier should be.  Special thank you to John for finding a solution to my outdoor shower doors!

This place is a woodworker's hub of materials and advice. They have an incredible array of every kind of tool, including the supplies to make your own - truly the tools of the trade to create professional results (even for an amateur).
The store is staffed by friendly experts who can help figure out the creative solution to a tricky problem the way only a true woodworker can.  The store manager, John Gilchrist, is particularly helpful and encouraging, even with the trickiest problems!

They hold regular classes and demonstrations that can make you familiar enough with tools to be comfortable using them at home - and provide you with a terrific item that you made with your own hands.  I've attended two already!  They even have hours on Sundays, so I can forget something and still go pick it up.

When I first developed an interest in woodworking, my brother-in-law, who is a master craftsman, said: Have you been to Rockler?  You're gonna LOVE Rockler!  And he was absolutely right!

Place is a paradise for woodworkers since it's well stocked. However, even though employees are pleasant, they do not pay attention when checking out items and applying discounts. They are misleading telling you that they will honor a discount and then forget at checkout, resulting in paying full price. I drive a long way to come here because of the discount, otherwise I could've bought the item at same price elsewhere. Not planning on coming back. From now on, will order my stuff online.

I went to Rockler Woodworking and Hardware in Phoenix, AZ to help me with a dresser drawer that was broken. Well, John the Manager went above and beyond my exceptions. I now have a drawer that slides in and out perfectly!!! Thanks so much John for fixing my drawer. I will be coming back to buy all my hardwood  needs!

Amazing customer service & so helpful!! I'm making a food bowl stand for my dog and needed some simple cuts done and they did it no questions asked! 10/10 recommend this place. Reminds me of the places I would go with my dad when I was younger.

Wow, I have no trouble figuring out where to get a gift card for my husband and friends.  This place has everything you need to realky get into woodworking as a hobby or business or just a one time project.  Some really great deaks on tools, super friendly and knowledgeable staff too.

This is the place to get real customer service, good prices, and great selection. Bought self closing drawer extensions and needed some screws for modular units. They have everything and are the nicest people. Highly recommend.

Rockler has a lot of unique woodworking items as well as standard tools and supplies.  The upside is that there is SOOO much in the store, yet organized very well so it's not messy at all.  You can find what you need.  They have a few machines and other large items in their limited space.  Prices however are really stiff; often well over any other store.  Some of their house brand stuff is just ok; workable but not great quality.  Others are excellent.  Buy carefully, and price check everything.  As one example, on my last visit they had one item at $40 which was $30 at another local store and on Amazon.  That's a 33% premium.

The employees are always friendly and helpful.  They do try a little too hard to get you signed up for e-mails and other junk.

They had these basically impossible to find drawer slides in stock called GO-EZ Universal Concealed Drawer Slide Set. They were an exact match to the slides in my 35 year old cabinets. Not only did they have them, but the staff member saw I was carrying in the broken one and instantly directed me to the right aisle. I was in and out of the store in under 5 minutes. The most seamless shopping experience I can remember for quite some time. Customer service is alive and well at Rockler! My receipt says Dennis Y, so thanks so much, Dennis!

I had to come leave a 5 star review for the amazing team at Rockler after having yet another terrible experience at Woodcraft in Chandler. I drive 45 minutes to come see these guys, despite being right up the road from Woodcraft. Every time I visit this location, the staff is amazingly attentive, knowledgeable and personable. They have never been anything less, whether I am coming to spend $10 or $1000.

Great store, very helpful staff. John was able to help me by cutting the selected piece to size and he even planed it for me. Made my project much easier. Thank you so much John!

Dudes are cool, they carry odies oil. Pretty much all I'm looking for. Never a bad experience.

I'm a general contractor and we are doing a custom woodworking job. We needed some special materials. We called the store in advance we were told they had plenty in stock. A week later when we need them we show up to the store to be told that they haven't been in stock for years. now I have to go explain my customer why their job will be delayed.

This was my first time in the store.  I came in because I was replacing the scales on an old hunting knife. This store has everything!!!!  I thought I was going to have to buy scrap wood to make the scales, but this place has a special section for knife making and scales you can buy.  If your into wood working, this is the place for you!!  I could have spent the whole day there today f I wanted to.  The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.  I felt like I was in one of those old stores from back in the day when customers service was priority along with having quality products!!!!  It's my new favorite store!!!

Super helpful. Taught me exactly how to gel stain refinish my curio cabinet. So excited to put it back into my renovated house. This is our go to hardware store for knobs, hinges and specialty items. Fairly priced. Worth the trip.

From milk paint to drawer guides, from unique tools and how to seminars, Rockler has been a great resource.

The local staff are helpful and kind and their online store is efficient with  good turnaround times. Thanks for all your help over the years here in Phoenix.

This place is such a convenient location. When I need woodworking tools or supplies I can go there and find exactly what I need.

They carry some very hard to find items that they do not carry in other hardware stores.  They have a great selection of cabinet hinges and furniture hardware, and they are always very helpful.

Unique hardware store with great products. However, the customer service is absolutely horrible. I like to judge businesses based on my own personal experience, but the Yelp reviewers who experienced bad customer service were not kidding...

For a business that A) already focuses on a narrow market and B) relies on repeat business, it is mind boggling how little they care about their customer service. They seem to have a lot of great stuff, sadly I won't find out. After being ignored, insulted and talked down to I will be taking my business elsewhere. Sorry Rockler, but you are not the only rodeo in town.

I needed to stop in here for drawer slides that I couldn't find anywhere else in the size that we were looking for. We had to go in 3 times Bc of sizing and measuring them. All 3 times I can't say enough about how helpful each employee treated me. All 3 times walking in here were different guys working. The employees here are soooo friendly and helpful !!! They walked us throu the drawer slides isles and told us excately what we needed and how to repair our broken/jammed cabinet drawer. We will be going here in the future if we need too !!

Although their prices are a bit much, if you watch the sales, they are competitive. This is a specialty woodworking establishment. If you want  5 gazillion 2x4s and another million sheets of fiberboard, go to Lowes or Home Depot. They have EXCELLENT hands-on class instruction on a variety of subjects. I have taken several woodturning classes with Dave and LOVED them!

Great customer service at this store. Dennis was very helpful suggesting appropriate products for my cabinet project.  Would come back to Rockler store for all of my woodworking needs.   Great job, Thanks.  Good selection of wood finishing products.

Making a desk?  A kitchen cabinet?  A yacht out of red oak?  You get the point.  This place has most if not all of what you want.  The guys are helpful once you get them started by asking questions.
If veneer is your thing then it's a great place to go, they have tons of different kinds in rolls that you can look at and they sell craft wood for those certain of their skills.  
For all things woodworking check this place out.  It might have moved, be sure to double check the address.

A very knowledgeable and helpful staff.  These folks are all experienced woodworkers, and are eager to share their advice and thoughts. They have great classes for formal training.  While their wood supply is space limited they carry the tools and hardware that most of us need and want.  This is a go-to place for high quality tools, the kind that the pros use.
Though I live in Prescott some 100 miles away, i would still rather shop there than on line.  Why? more knowledgeable staff, I can see, feel and hold the product and it supports a local business.

It's worth the 100-mile drive to visit this store and browse the aisles. Rec'd great service and advice from employees, especially Dean. Inventory is not discount-type, but high quality and delivers value for the price.  Took a class several months ago and it, too, was worth the time and cost.  I'll be going back!

I only give them a one star because there is no option for ZERO stars.  Arrogant, unhelpful, and RUDE.  Telling me No no no before they even can see what I have in my hand & am asking for.

They advertise over 600 cabinet hinges, and even show the one I need in the pictures on the bins, but I'm not sure what the measurements mean.  Do I need 3/8 or 1/2?  I don't know, but I have the old hinge with me.  I want to replace ALL the cabinet hinges, not just a single one.  He doesn't even LOOK at what's in my hand & tells me they don't make them anymore.  Ok, seriously?  You haven't even seen what's in my hand!  I see pictures of EXACTLY the same hinge above the bins, can you please help me find the one shown?  Nope.  My cabinet will hang funny if I don't use the old hinges.

Ok, wow.  Went back to Home Depot & bought the new hinges with the ugly finish I didn't like, project done.

This place is great.  I have taken a number of classes and always felt it was worth while.  The instructors are very good and the projects fun to make.  I am female with little experience and I was never made to feel stupid or talked down to.

It's OK for buying woodwork-specific stuff, but you can do better for lumber. Their supply is limited and overpriced. Sign up for their flyer and check their web site for sales. There are sometimes good buys.
