It's been a full year since Marty came out and Woo'd me with his charm, grace. And passion for supplying the valley's best removable pool fences. From the moment he walked in the door, I knew i had made a great choice.

He came all the way over to the house to give me a free quote and explain to me the benefit of using his product over others. At first I thought maybe it was gong to be some lame pushy salesman pitch, but it wasn't. It was quite the opposite. Marty simply laid out his product and let me see it and test it. He explained his story with the product and the benefits of the material. Like I said, I was already sold on Marty as a person when he walked into my house, but his 'mini-pitch', with my total cost, just put me over the edge. As soon as he left, I wanted him back in my life. But like any good person, I waited a day to call him back and book the appointment.

So, the fence...I couldn't be happier. I have a 3.5 year old and a 1.5 year old, both boys, both run around the backyard as often as possible, both just with complete disregard for their surroundings. Throw in a dog and mower and a weed eater and you've got yourself one quality fence that has stood up to pretty toug conditions.

I highly recommend giving Marty a call if you're considering a removable style pool fence, You won't find a better company in the valley. Everything from the product, the experience, and the prices are fair and competitive.

Update (4/30/20): this thing is still going strong and looks as good as the day we got it. Still one of the best products I've ever purchased.

Love our brand new pool fence- our old one (there when we bought the house), was custom so we couldn't replace the individual parts of the fence without a TON of work (and really that would just be replacing the mesh). We called Protect-A-Child Pool Fence for a quote and they were happy to stop by. We obtained a few other quotes from some local companies that were much higher, and this company also offered a warranty so seemed like the best option. They were backed up a bit on installs but had an opening 2 weeks after the quote was given which worked out perfectly. On install day, I was given a window for arrival. The installer did a really great job, even customizing for us so that we can move the pool fence to split our patio (we'll do this in the summer when we are using the pool), or to run along the edge to our BBQ (we will do this in the winter so we can enjoy our full patio). Note- we only have a pool fence to keep our two doodle pups out of the pool, otherwise they'd be swimming all day- so the customization is not recommended if trying to keep kids out. Great experience, fair price, really well done job!

I cannot say enough good things about this company. We called them earlier this year to give us a quote. The price was right. We ended up waiting to get it done. No pressure from the sales department- it was super smooth. When we called back to get it done, they responded immediately, kept the same price, and got it done quickly. The install was very smooth and only took a couple hours. They came when they said they would and cleaned up after themselves. The fence looks great and now our 2 year old can play in the back yard without us having the fear of him falling in the pool. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a pool fence. The owner made sure we were happy before leaving. This company will certainly get a lot of referrals from me in the future. Great job!

Great product and service. Marty was very friendly and informative on the product, providing information on things to look out for when buying a pool fence. The price was fair, what we expected to pay, and we did not feel any pressure to buy which made the experience that much more enjoyable. I am VERY pleased with the service provided! Being a new mom, having a fence around our pool was something that was an absolute must, and it was important to me that I found a company who took pride in installation and safety. If you are looking for the same thing, I highly recommend using this company. I called for an estimate and met with Marty asap. He was so helpful and gave me ALL the information. I didn't realize how much went into these fences, but with how knowledgeable Marty was, I was confident and knew this was the company I needed to go with. Dane came out to install the fence soon after, and not only does it look great, but the quality of the fence is impressive! I feel at ease knowing my little one can now play in the backyard (with supervision) and not have to worry about her gravitating towards the pool. These guys installed my pool fence so quickly and saved my real estate deal!! The contractors pool company had not finished the pool by the time escrow was going to close. The bank would only allow us to close escrow if a fence was put in place. I called on a Monday, they came on a Wednesday to measure and had my pool fence installed on Saturday. That easy!! They thought ahead and ordered a lot of product so their clients wouldn't have to wait weeks or even months for a fence. I'm so glad I found them. The office staff is so professional and friendly.

If you build it, they will come. No, seriously, they will come after you build a house (or buy or rent - whatever). And, they will come fast, and they will install your pool fence quickly and efficiently. I was impressed. I've had a lot of good contractors come out to my new home, but honestly, this company had the best 'poolside manner.' They were super helpful when I didn't know what I wanted or needed in a pool fence. My 5-year-old is not able to go anywhere near the pool when I'm not around, and I feel very confident in their work. It's one less thing to worry about this summer. Plus, the fence is really nice and easy for adults to open. Bonus: it can come down when we are ready for that. I highly recommend this company.

We did a lot of research on pool fences as there are a lot of different options out there. Protect a Child Fence is by far the best value. The fence is safe and it's not hideous. The best part is after a few years when your kids can swim you aren't stuck with a permanent fence to look at or have removed. The materials are high quality and easy to work with. The owners truly care about ensuring children are safe and don't try to make the fences unaffordable so homeowners aren't able to get them. The entire process from start to finish was easy. We were so impressed on installation day the whole installation took until 90 minutes. These guys have a smooth operation going. Very happy with the result.

Terrible company!

This company plans so poorly they waited until the day of a scheduled appointment figure out they needed to pick a new time. Then they called me instead of my wife. And because I couldn't interrupt what I was doing at work to immediately take their call they just canceled the appointment. Then when I asked him to be more respectful of my time, they just walked off the job.

This was after it took multiple months chasing them down just to get an appointment.

We had our pool fence installed this week and it's by far been the best thing we could have done for peace of mind around our home. We had existing fence which they installed for us at a really good price. The installers came to my home in time and made short work of the install, keeping in mind my ideas for putting the fence around preferred areas. I was surprised to see how the fence flowed really well with our pool area as I wasn't expecting it to come together so quick and looking sleek. My husband and I came out to the pool to see the fence looked great and they kept the area clean when they were done. I would highly recommend this company to everyone with a pool and kids.

I just wanted to write a view on how well this fence held up. We just removed it after six years and it was still in mint condition. The post in the ground holes had no corrosion or fatigue. I called to see if they could reinstall it at a different location and spoke with Conde she was more than helpful and said that they could. She also asked if I needed any caps for the drilled fence post holes. I had forgotten all about that product. But when she mentioned it I remembered Marty telling us those were available when we removed the fence. This was all at no charge she is sending them in the mail. Also, I want to comment on doing business with Marty he was a pleasure to deal with. Very straight forward, did what he said he would do, when he said he would do it and it looked professional and clean when it was finished.

Well, upon moving to Chandler we realized with a 4yr old & new born....pool safety was a must!

The nets seems to be too much work to use on the daily basis and we have a custom pool so the motorized cover was out too.

We looked at glass fences, but that's permanent and in 6-8yrs, we want our open yard back we figure.

I called Marty, have to tell you...really nice guy. Set an appointment he was polite, knowledgable and ON TIME (almost impossible for contractors anymore)!

Price was affordable and the system can be taken down temporarily for entertaining...score.

Scheduled install for following Saturday....this time the were early, this is amazing.

I leave Bane with a check, he gives me a few tips...off to work I go. I get an alert from home automation, click on the camera and Bane is done...and washing off the patio.

Got home, everything perfect...clean...done right!

AND

As a bonus, I find the messing to be translucent during the day making the yard feel open and at night it affords a bit more privacy then just our parameter walls.

Marty is so amazing. He's since sold the company to his partner but between the two of them they are fantastic. I can't recommend them enough.

First, I found them on Yelp years ago, when we first bought the house. I had no idea how to position a fence but Marty has such a good eye for it and it's served its purpose perfectly. He was great at scheduling, did fantastic service and the product has been phenomenal.

Just this year the gate latch got a bit messed up. I messaged Marty on Yelp and he answered me within an hour when I inquired if it was something that was covered. He invited me to call (but since I had such a headache I had my husband call) and he was scheduled just like that to come out the next day. He came early and on his day off and was able to replace the latch under warranty for no charge. He did so quickly and the new latch is great!

We received quotes from Protect-A-Child and one other company. Protect-A-Child came first and Marty explained the difference between their fence poles and the aluminum ones used by other companies. He gave us his personal recommendations for the design and fence type. The 2nd company came and sure enough, they use the bendable aluminum poles. The quotes were comparable and Protect-A-Child came in cheaper because we opted for the manual fence instead of the self-closing gate. Two guys came and installed it in about an hour. We're happy with the end result. Our kids are now able to play in the backyard without having to worry about them going near the pool. I recommend Protect-A-Child to anyone looking for a fence.

After being blown off and refunded by the company we originally planned to use we switched to Protect-A-Child. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Not only was their price competitive (half of what we planned to pay) but service is EXCELLENT! We had a piece of one of our locks fall off and they immediately sent someone out to replace it.

Fence has been up for about 6 months with lots of use and we couldn't be happier.

From the second a called to the time the service was done it was a pleasure working with Marty and his team.

I called 6 places to get a small portion of my fence, re-installed after removing it to fix a plumbing issue. I got all sort of answers and excuses, the company who originally installed my fence wanted an arm and a leg for this small job; others wanted even more. Marty gave me the best deal, a fair price and excellent service.

I have 4 children, one is blind and 2 have Autism. I had an urgent need to have this done and I could not believe how hard it was to find someone to do it. I do believe that Marty and his team is all about protection and customer service vs other places.

I would recommend and use them again!!!

My family thanks you very much! We can now enjoy our backyard!!!

We've had Protect-a-Child fence installed now for a year with great success. It has survived last years monsoon winds and many storms since. Plus surviving our 2 grandsons, now 1-1/2 & 3-1/2. They've tried every way to get through even headbutting at a full run and have failed.

After much consideration to either fix my existing 14 yr old rusted iron fence, I decided on Protect-A-Child. We were convinced after Marty visited us and showed us his product we were convinced. We had the old fence removed and added some brick patio. Marty was scheduled out more than a month at the time which worked out for us. It appears new and the hardware has held up. Its much more pleasing than looking through rusted iron jail bars. We chose the black mesh which you can see through easily. It's even undetected by birds and insects that have tried to fly through it unhurt.

We interviewed a few different companies and this is definitely the best option. This company has the best material and best motivations!

Their poles are made from fiberglass, not metal. So when it's 100* you won't burn your hand by touching the poles.

Quick and easy installation. We've had our fence for 7 months and love it.

After talking to a number of pool fence companies it was very apparent to us that Protect a Child/Marty was our best option. He was so knowledgeable and helpful in talking us through the logistics of what we wanted and in the process made suggestions that saved us money. Also , as proved to be the case, the quality of materials surpassed our expectations and was superior to other pool fences we had looked at.

I do want to take a second to comment on the installation crew. WHAT GREAT GUYS! They knew what to do, were efficient, cleaned up so that our deck looked better than when they came and were as nice a team of guys as you could imagine. Even the company owner showed up to inspect the work. Amazing service, can't recommend them enough and the pricing was shockingly reasonable, especially as I was looking at do it yourself options on AMAZON, were the quality of materials was sub par to what we got.

It's obvious they're professionals who know their trade and love their work.

I chose Marty over others we got quotes from because he has a superior product, but after installation I am most impressed with Marty's care & concern. He went above and beyond to make sure our entire pool area is completely safe for our family.

Make sure to watch the Protect-a-Child YouTube videos on post strength when you compare his product to others. When I did, it became clear to me that I was going to go with Protect-a-Child fences.

I will be ordering my second Protect-A-Child fence in the next couple of weeks. First fence lasted 19 years before the poles finally started deteriorating. Many people think their product is expensive. I know many people that have used other companies and the mesh started separating from seems and had sun rot within 4-6 years. I wouldn't buy any other mesh pool fencing. Marty is also great to work with. He genuinely cares about his customers, takes his time and makes sure you are satisfied.

Dane and Marty are an amazing team. They are professional, safety-oriented, and experts in what they do. I suggest doing what they recommend.

We have a toddler and 2 dogs that are in the pool if they are outside. For the sake of having complete peace of mind for the baby, we had the fence installed without a gate. It is easy to open for adults but nearly impossible for a child. The modular design allows us to remove some or all of the fencing when we have friends over which is a major PLUS!! Also, Im certainly not complaining about the dogs being dry!

The products itself could not be any better. The poles allow for some bend (great for big clumsy dogs), but will not affect the integrity. The black mesh is perfect. It looks super clean and is transparent.

You don't see many companies with 5 stars, but these guys live up to the hype. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Marty was able to come out and explain all the options. I had seen their excellent website with videos describing the various post options, especially how depending on the product, they would break (or not). We were given great advice about having a gate (or not) and were able to get an install only a few days after we moved in. Dane came out and installed the fence quickly and professionally, showed us how it works, and it has worked great and looks great. One post was a little sticky and hard to remove, and Marty and co are happy to come and loosen it a bit. So great product, reasonable price, professional, with great followup customer service. Total peace of mind.

I am writing this literally 3 years late! I realized I never did this and feel so bad. Marty came out to do the quote the day after I rang him, I suddenly had all the Grandkids coming out within 2 weeks so it was an emergency. He was very busy and had no one available to do the install. SO he actually came and did it himself!!! I have never been so grateful. We have been very happy with the fence. So at least I can say that now that we have used it for years. Easy to take up and down.
And we recommended it to a friend and they also have one. Wonderful service and product.

Marty does everything from estimates to the installation of the pool fence. He has been doing this for over 20yrs and his experience shows through in his attention to detail, the layout of the fence and choosing the best fence for your needs.
Originally my husband tried to do it himself, but there were gaps that my 3 yo could get through and we didn't have any access to the rest of our yard. Now we have a beautiful pool fence that surrounds the pool, peace of mind that our children cannot get to the pool AND best of all we finally have access to the rest of our yard!

These guys are great! Marty came to our home and was very detailed in his explanation of the product, install, and quote. He even let me stand on the posts of the protect-a-child fence. I was able to fully stand on them without them snapping in the middle. The installer, Dane, was very communicative before and during the install. He called the night before and the morning of. Their quote was a little higher than other companies, but the product is exponentially better and they are actually passionate about their product. We went with the black mesh and it does not block the view one bit. It came out looking better than we thought! Very nice to work with and a very professional outfit. I seriously recommend them over anyone else!

It's been awhile since I thought a service business went above and beyond to warrant a Yelp review. Marty is a passionate business owner who takes great pride in his work. Our pool fence turned out to be perfect -- aesthetically pleasing, easy for adults to take on and off, and most importantly it's high quality and will protect our kids. I can't speak highly enough about this company. To start with it seems they REALLY care about the safety of your kids, doing a good job and at a fair price.

On top of the initial install I am finally writing this review to speak to Marty's followup. Our fence was installed over 2 years ago and has performed flawlessly. The one component that finally failed was the door latch mechanism. One quick email to Marty and I had a phone call and email returned within the day. While NONE of this was covered under the warranty, Marty's very first response was to say we stand behind our products.

Within a few days Marty was out, replaced the latch mechanism with nothing but smiles and good work. I wish all companies and dealings with companies went as well as ours has been with Protect A Child.

Did an awesome job on our fence when we moved in the customer service gentlemen and the two guys that came out to do the fence were amazing and genuinely wanted to ensure we were happy with their service. The fence looks wonderful in our new home. What disappointed me was they tacked on additional percents when I decided to pay with my card, I was never told this ahead of time. So what I was planning on paying ended up being more.

Marty is well mannered and professional at his job. He understood what I was looking for over the phone and gave me an exact quote. I have a small area leading to the pool and he installed a 24 foot fence with a door for about $600. I looked on the website before booking Marty and learned about the quality of the product vs others. He came within the time that he said he would and it took him and a helper around 1.5 hours to do the whole job. When he left the place was clean and the job done right. Thanks

I couldn't be happier with my new fence. Marty and Dane had 60 feet of fence installed in about 2 hours. They left my pool area cleaner than it was when they showed up. Both were very professional and courteous. I only wish I could give them more than five stars.

When Marty first came to my home and met with me and my wife about the fence he was very impressive with his presentation. He didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need. In fact he did just the opposite. He showed me I didn't need as much as I though I did. If your in need of a pool fence this is the way to go. After years of having steel pool fence at my two previous homes I will never go back.

Update - after a tree fell over in my backyard and landed on a section of the fence, Marty came by the very next day to assess the damage and replaced the section that had fallen victim to the tree. What's amazing about Marty's product is that it actually held up under the weight of the tree; it just became a little stretched out after supporting 2000+ pounds for 24 hours.

We just moved into a new house and needed to get a pool fence installed. Called Protect-a-Child and Marty came out and did an evaluation of our space. Extremely knowledgeable and obviously passionate about what he does. Did a wonderful job explaining how the system works and how it's different from others. A week or so later, Dane came and performed the installation. Thoroughly professional and was done within 2 hours. Walked us through how the system works. Would absolutely recommend them.

Also, Marty installed a fence on my parents pool in Yuma, AZ. Yes - he drove all the way down there, because he will service that area. This company was awesome!!! We spoke with many different companies before deciding on protect-a-child. They had the best price, product, and customer service. We even thought about putting in the fence by ourself but they had very competitive rate and we knew it was getting done right. Marty was awesome. At the estimate he was very helpful with all the questions we had and did not try and up-sell or push anything on us. He said he was pretty booked up but would fit us in as soon as he could because he knew we had small children and bigger children and the house we just bought did not have a fence. He booked us for three weeks out. He made it very clear that they had no set time and to be available the whole day. This was completely fine with us cause we really just wanted the fence and to make sure our kids were safe. They called ten minutes before the install and said they were on the way. Josh and Vic were very friendly, professional and worked quick. They also answered any questions we had and made us feel comfortable. They did have a 3% charge for using a debt card. Overall the whole process was easy and better than we expected. The fence looks awesome compared to those huge iron fences we are used too.

I chose Marty with Protect-a-Child after getting quotes on a mesh pool fence from about five different places. His prices were the second lowest but the best over-the-phone customer service by far. When he came to do the actual installation, he and Dane were friendly, professional, on time, caring, and very knowledgeable. They worked with us to come up with the best fence layout both structurally and aesthetically for our tricky landscape. We're very happy with their work and the price came out to less than we were predicting!

We just had the pool fence installed and I am so pleased with this company. His estimate was very competitive and his product is much more resistant than the other company's that I received estimates from. He gave a complete demonstration with the fiberglass posts and showed how they will give and bend with pressure, but the bends will not be permanent or compromise the integrity of the fencing system. He was upfront regarding the product and what was for actual safety and what was more for money makers. We went with some of his suggestion, and even spent a little more money than he recommended just so we would have peace of mind, I highly recommend using his company for his honesty, integrity, and for his wonderful demeanor. Great man and a pleasure to be around.
